What I liked: Safety and tranquil atmosphere. The location is gated and has a very calm relaxing vibe. Gorgeous design with beauty all around you. There are several fun activities to do. There is a pool table, a gym, archery practice, and of course, the pool. Atention to detail from housekeeping with decorated towels and linens. White sheets and fuzzy plush blankets for both beds was a nice bonus. Complementary coffee pods with cups and spoons. Microwave available for takeout leftovers. I don’t use these things, but they had Q-tips, makeup remover pads, and a hair dryer. Thoughtful details. The restaurant food is amazing. Stall was helpful and professional.

This place is incredible! Our cabin was perfectly designed, very private, with loads of light and beautiful views, super comfortable huge bed and a terrace with amazing views including the sunset. We loved hanging out by the pool and kayaking on the lake. Staff were very nice.

Beautiful setting in tropical gardens, big pool and spacious very comfortable room (with large sofa, coffee machine etc). Friendly staff. 15mins walk into Ajijic for restaurants and a small town with great character.

Beautiful grounds, 15 minute walk to town (or easy cab for $100 pesos). Very clean, pools are wonderful. Booking through Expedia was easy and accurate. Only slight annoyance was the pool bar was not attended - you needed to get out of the pool, walk around the outdoor restaurant patrons, and grab someone for drinks.

The breakfast was great, short options but it was all fresh! The heated pool was a bit cold, the jacuzzi pool was much nicer it was warmer than the other pool, overall nice place with pretty good service. Will return for a longer stay next time in the summer

We loved our spacious room overlooking the two pools and Lake Chapala. The beds were comfortable. There is a bar and restaurant steps away - both overlooking the lake and the pools. It is a peaceful retreat for those who may want to recharge and relax.

Nice expansive property with 2 large pools and a hot tub. The breakfast buffet is very good with many options. The restaurant itself has limited food options and a bit pricey. We ordered some guacamole by the pool, it was good and it took a long time to arrive. Rooms are large and comfortable. Very safe area and enclosed hotel

The property is very spacious and the facilities excellent. The pool and hot pool were exceptionally clean and well maintained. Staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking space

The food at this hotel is delicious, only issue is that I couldn’t download the menu and when I walked over to reception, the receptionist wasn’t much help, in spite of my Spanish being perfect. The WiFi was glitchy and slow. However, I was able to place a pool service order directly with the restaurant and everything after was perfect. The waiters and employees were very friendly and helpful. My children loved the pool and arrachera nachos that were absolutely delicious. Will definitely stay at Memora again

I felt safe and the staff was very nice and helpful the spa was very nice only problem the first day shower water was cold but they came up and fixed it by the next day pool was heated so that was also very nice had music and bar at pool on Sunday really enjoyed that also the restaurant was good verity of food all taste delicious

We stayed only one night in this hotel, but we were satisfied. We got what we saw on booking. We had a good, clean room with private bathroom, the restaurant on the top floor was really nice, the pool was smaller than i thought and that it looks on the pictures. But they have a bar there and you can order drinks being inside the pool.

We stayed at Hotel HS Hottson in Chapala, Jalisco 1 week ago. To say it was a wonderful stay would be an understatement! Very clean room and common areas. Beautiful pool and absolutely amazing staff. The restaurant food was all superb. This place was a true hidden gem to my husband and I. GM Miguel always made his presence and took real pride in his hotel. We felt at home the entire stay. We will definitely be back and can't recommend it enough. PS Don't forget to unwind and get a relaxing massage at the spa!

Breakfast was very nice and made to order. Not big but enough for us. We did not use the pool. Staff were friendly and helpful. The bathroom was big with a great shower - plenty of hot water with a bit of patience. The view was pleasant with a view all the way to Lake Chapala. I loved how quiet it was at night. I hope to return one day here. A little pricey but worth it.

We loved the hrlpful staff, the views (we were in room 4), and the facilities. Highlights included a great shower, an extended check-out schedule and absolute quiet at night. Breakfast around the pool was fun, delicious and made to order.

All of the employees were very helpful. We had an issue with our room and were quickly accommodated to a different room (a better room). The hotel itself is beautiful and welcoming. The view is nice. I appreciate how quite it was. The pool was a good temperature. Breakfast was good as well. My eggs were perfect, lol.

Ths is like a beautiful oasis in the town of Ijijic, Mexico. It is 20-25 minute walk from the town center. The hotel and beautiful lush landscaped grounds give you a feeling of the old world charm of Mexico. The architecture of all the premises is so charming and the premisis make you feel so relaxed among the flowers, trees, and sounds of water from the fountains. We were so impressed by the politeness of all the employees. The rooms are so charming with a feeling of the old world charm that comes from all the Mexican tile, dark wood, and open courtyard in each suite. When you enter your room for the first time you feel like a king entering his private domain. The entire premisis is kept immaculate. The people who are employed take a real interest to keep the facility up to the highest standards. A beautiful pool is great to relax and cool off when its warm. The breakfast is wonderful only to be outdone by the courtousy and respect of the wait staff. Old world charm, cleanliness, comfort, and a feeling of really being in old Mexico await at the Danza Del Sol.

Very spacious apartment on first floor with good kitchen area and huge wrap around terrace, smaller bedroom was quite compact with low ceiling which got quite warm, fan was useful to cool but a bit noisy. About a kilometre outside centre but easily walkable to bars/restaurants. Breakfast was very good, with choice of four main dishes prepared to order, endless supplies of coffee. Spacious sun lounge area around smallish pool more suited to kiddies than swimming. Lots of space around property with on site secure carpark. Easy walk to shores of Lake Chapala.

Friendly and very peaceful place. The suites are very nice and large. The bathrooms are nice. Excellent privacy on every villa. Nice pool for small kids. Is not too deep. Nice villa for 3 adults and 1 kid. It has 2 bathrooms and 2 separate rooms. 1 king size and 2 twin beds. Nice kitchenette. Nice dining room. It also has a big chimney on the living room area.

Loved the hotel, it's labyrinthine paths in the garden were delightful to walk thru. Pool was refreshing, mostly dominated by kids. The service was good, very clean, as others have said. Free breakfast was good & we would stay here again, loved feeling like we were in a palace of days past with ahidden garden.

Danza del Sol is such a delightful place - the apartments are large and nicely furnished, the grounds are lovely, the breakfasts are delicious , the staff very helpful and the pool is fun! It’s also a short walk from anything you’d want to visit in Ajijic. Totally recommend!

We had a really enjoyable week long stay here at the Villas. Our room was one of the smaller ones but we still had a small deck to sit outside and it was roomy enough. We utilized the pools almost every afternoon and liked the overall vibe of the place - quiet and relaxed. One Saturday night was more crowded and a bit noise, but no big deal. They serve a pretty hearty breakfast, more choices on the weekend, but we only ate breakfast about half the time. AC worked well. Hot water worked well but was more limited on the weekend. The location is quiet, but it’s on the far west side of town. We did a lot of walking the week that we were there, and realized that if we come again we will aim to be closer to the center or the east side of town. There are some great restaurants within a few blocks of Villas, so that was also nice.

It was our second visit.Everything was great . The 4 condition score just basically the roof looks like it might need maintenance..Interior was great,pool was great ,and the included breakfast was exceptional. The staff were wonderful. I would highly recommend it.

The pool was perfect and had warm water. The owner was very kind and also the staff vas very helpful. I would sugest to give a good unifom to the staff so they would have a very image.

The hotel is great! You have to have a car or take a taxi to get there because it is a little ways out of Ajijic, but if you are looking to just relax at a hotel with a pool this is a wonderful place. The pool area is beautiful, the staff is very helpful, and the breakfast buffet on the weekend was great. I have stayed here once on a weekend and once during the week, and during the week the bar and restaurant close really early and the breakfast is not as complete since it's not buffet, but it was still nice. But if I went back I would definitely go on the weekend to be able to have the poolside bar and restaurant until the evening and the buffet breakfast.

This place was amazing. We found this place after checking out 2 other hotels that were not suitable and it was the best decision. The staff was wonderful and helpful. The pool and Jacuzzi were so relaxing we didn't want to get out. The food was good. My son is very picky with his food but he LOVED their Pizza. They even put a table for our drinks and food by the pool and Jacuzzi. The rooms are so cool they are made from shipping containers and they are beautiful in the inside. They even put in extra bed in our room for my son to sleep in. I really recommend this place and would definitely come back whenever I'm in Ajijic again!!

This is a very interesting hotel made with shipping containers. The rooms are spacious, clean and very well stocked with TV and AC. We had an amazing breakfast at the restaurant by the pool. The pool is very large in case you wanna do laps and is climatized. There's a little rooftop where you can see the lake. Parking is secure and the service was amazing. Oh, and by the way, it's super affordable

What a delightful place to stay. Although the hotel is close to the highway the room was quiet and the staff could not have been more helpful. There is a full restaurant with good food and attentive waiters and the view is superb. The pool area was very popular but there is ample room to sunbathe. We decided to take a kayaking trip with the hotel's adventure specialist Memo. He was great! I had kayaked before but it was my friend's first time...Memo is fluent in English, a great teacher and a very friendly and outgoing person. We kayaked for a couple of hours in the morning before it was too hot and Memo even provided a lunch and beverages for us! Look forward to returning soon!

Spent a lovely weekend at Hotel del Pescador this past October. The manager Luca and it's flawless staff treat us wonderfully, the rooms were spotless and we enjoyed the afternoon by the pool and having some cocktails. A wonderful dinner at Ajijic and then a massage at the hotel the morning after made it an unforgettable weekend. Totally recommended for a weekend getaway or even some days of relaxing if you come outside the city. I guess that Pat H and the other person who reviewed negatively had really bad luck, it's not easy when a place is just open, so my advice would be to go back and rectify since we had an amazing time and plan to go back soon.

Positive feedback: • hotel is well-kept. • beautiful location •comfortable bed • new construction • wonderful garden with a bar and great common areas/ammenities to hang out with your family or friends at the lounge bar or pool area. Things to improve: • black out curtains to be installed or at least fix the current shutters to prevent light from coming in. • there was a lot of noise from all the families with kids and babies, so not a very peaceful place to rest, if that’s what you’re looking for. • bathroom should be converted into a separate unit from bedroom (no privacy) • toilet walls so filthy with dry vomit • not always someone at front desk

the only thing was that, they were preparing everything for a big wedding, so it was a bit annoying that the people were working around us in the pool area and the view turn out affected. other than that was great.

I would stay here 100 times more. The pictures do not to it justice it is a beautiful property with an amazing view of the lake. Beds are comfy and food is very good. Staff was exceptional. Had to take many taxis and the hotel staff called them for us every time. And a tip if you pay your taxi driver a little bit more they will come back for you. Location was great just a few minute drive to lots of shopping and food. We had friends that biked from the hotel to shopping and they loved it. STAY HERE! You won’t be disappointed!!

We found the property in a search with several others and not knowing the area or what to expect it looked to be the best choice. It was beautiful, the staff was very friendly and the food and drinks outstanding. We chose the deluxe lake view room and it was perfect. Definitely want to return and stay again. Sad we only had one night to stay there.

La Nueva Posada is a lovely boutique hotel conveniently located within walking distance of banks, car rental, pharmacy, restaurants, and transportation. The rooms were clean and well stocked with towels. The beds, sheets, and pillows were very comfortable, and the hotel staff are excellent. The restaurant provides both indoor and outdoor seating and has a decent selection of food. We had to move from a room by the pool to another room on the 3rd floor with a gorgeous view of Lake Chapala due to lack of internet service which I needed for work. The staff was very accomodating and we really appreciated their quick response. It's a little like staying at The Second Best Magnolia Hotel with guests greeting each other in the mornings at breakfast. The pool was fresh, clean, and very inviting (not heated), and the gardens were very well maintained and really pretty. The hotel was a little run-down and could do with a refreshing make-over in the bathrooms especially, but overall, we had a great stay.

I stayed at this beautiful boutique hotel 12/21/2020 thru 12/27/2020 and what a great experience . The service was so heart warming from the time I walked in until the time I left . I made some friends at the front counter , Lucy and Rita were wonderful as hosts and I felt completely welcomed . They gave me the best service I could ever wish for and also recommended Arturo Fernandez for the best Taxi service from the hotel to anywhere , even the airport . I even took trips to San Juan Cosala , thermal mineral pools, thermal mineral baths , sauna and also thermal jacuzzi , oh and a great massage too ! Arturo Fernandez Taxi service was always there for me to go to Guadalajara to see friends and family or anywhere I wanted to go , very comforting to know you can communicate with everyone there . The restaurant in the garden was so beautiful and right on Lake Chapala . Judy made me feel at home and Michael also made me feel like part of the family . They have such a great spirit of helping guests feel important and the girls serving in the restaurant were wonderful . The room was #301 and great view , very clean and very comfortable , balcony was beautiful and breakfast was also included and it was delicious everyday , . I want to thank all those that made my stay so memorable and I would highly recommend La Nueva Posada Hotel to anyone deciding to stay in the most unique and romantic boutique hotel near Chapala in Ajijic .

This is a jewel of a place. Cozy and inviting atmosphere. Beautiful giant tree covers half of the restaurant patio which is steps away from the lake. Spacy rooms and beautiful pool. Staff was very nice and accommodating. My flight was moved up by 5 hours, yes, it was moved up and the hotel staff arranged for me to check in earlier. One thing to note is that the restaurant opens at around 9am and closes at around 6pm.

Beautiful posada in a glorious lakeside setting with exceptional service. We've been going for years and savour our spotlessly clean 3rd floor lake-view room, super comfortable beds, delicious breakfasts, crystal clean pool, garden dining room - but most of all the Eager family and their staff who welcome us and care for us. This is a magical place - wonderful any time of the year.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at La hacienda Del lago hotels during a weekend getaway, and I must say it exceeded all my expectations. I must commend the staff for their exceptional service throughout my stay. Every team member I encountered was friendly, attentive, and went out of their way to ensure that I had a memorable experience. Our stay was excellent. The staff were very kind and helpful and catered to our every need. The grounds were well kept and very peaceful. No buses or loud traffic down the street. The only thing you heard in the mornings were birds singing. The pool was very, inviting when getting up in the morning, always nice and warm . Definitely will recommend this hotel..

My partner and I had a wonderful time at Hacienda del Lago. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the hotel itself a serene oasis in a very picturesque town. The pool was so warm! The bed was comfortable and the nights were quiet (except for the far-off crowing of roosters!).

Great stay. Location is good, very close to the Chapala lake and with some eating options around the area within walking distance. Staff was great, very friendly!. The hotel was very clean and the pool and garden areas very well maintained. We had breakfast and it was delicious and affordable. The only inconvenient I had was that the coffee machine inside the room didn't work, but I reported it at check-out and I saw that they quickly addressed the issue, so hopefully the next guests won't have the same problem. Overall it was very pleasant and will definitely consider it for a next trip! Recommended!

This hotel is on the one of the main streets in Chapala and directly across from the lake. It is charming and an older building with a large veranda on the front. It is here that one has breakfast and it overlooks the front garden and the road. The room was spacious and I had a king size bed. It was comfortable and I like a firm bed. Someone had been smoking in the washroom as there was a faint odor that I could detect every time I entered. The staff was excellent and very attentive. Breakfast was as stated and omelets or eggs, pancakes etc. with coffee, juice and fruit. There is a small pool out back set in a spacious and well appointed garden area. There is also a small bar out back. I recommend this place but do not expect a Hilton or a Marriott. It is a quaint, nice hotel in a small town.

This place is quaint and charming. The staff are helpful and attentive. The pool is gorgeous. The room was still a good temperature without AC. I loved the fact it had an attached balcony to your room. Being able to get fresh air at hotel is underrated

Great place. The To die For if you like antiques. the food is excellent and reasonable. Location and secure parking is perfect. We did not use the swimming pool.

This is a beautiful hotel right in the heart of Chapala, just steps away from the Malecon. The hotel staff are warm and inviting and the rooms are very clean and spacious. If I have any complaint it would be the water pressure in the shower. When we checked in we were given our key for the room and a box with Dominoes and the Remote Control for the tv. Our room was Tango, a King size bed with a table and chairs and a bathroom with shower, no tub. We did not use the TV, the reception was poor but that was fine as we were not there to watch tv. The room had 2 liter size bottles of water provided and every day they were replaced which was really great. The bed was firm but comfortable with good pillows. A ceiling fan in the room kept us cool as we slept. There is also wifi which is provided for free. The continental breakfast is served at 830am to 1030am and included in the cost of the room. There were warm, fresh out of the oven muffins, homemade granola, yogurt, various boxed cereal, and fresh fruit cut up including papayas. YUMMY! There is also a menu you can order off of if you would like eggs, etc. Parking was in front of the hotel in the open parking area, which there is no charge for, however, on the weekend when all the tourists come from Guadalajara we did have to park down the block at the park. This is a beautiful property, the gardens are lovely, there are nice areas to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air.

This is such a unique hotel with old colonial style and beautifully landscaped grounds. Every room is a different theme and mine was "Safari". It has a fully equipped kitchen including water jug, half bath, living room with a fireplace and TV downstairs. Upstairs is the bedroom with two queen-size beds, fireplace, TV, Jacuzzi tub, separate rain shower, walk in closet with skylight and a small terrace overlooking the courtyard. The staff was as spectacular as the room! We were provided huge umbrellas when we decided to go out in a downpour. When we returned and mentioned that restaurants were closed due to the storm, voila, a menu for a restaurant that delivered! The next day we walked the malecon to Parque de la Cristiana and explored the surrounding areas all on foot. Absolutely no need for the car I had rented. The only negative was when we moved to Ajijic the next day and checked into what I probably would have thought was a nice room had I not spent the night at Hotel Villa San Francisco. Next trip I will spend more time at Chapala and will plan my trip around the availability of "Safari". I highly recommend this hotel and its staff!

The property is beautiful. Very small and intimate. Rooms are just a few steps to pool and quaint restaurant. Loved the shower and eligant rustic decor.

Food was delicious, cocktails were perfect, hotel grounds were gorgeous, and the staff was unbelievably friendly. Everything was SO well priced (especially the Swedish massages, which were also incredible!) Most of the staff spoke English, or otherwise were very patient with our use of a translation app. Owner was also super nice and gracious.

My wife and I spent three days in Ajijic to celebrate my birthday. Very little can be said about Ajijic. Maybe we were “out of season”, but the town was semi-dead and quite boring. But that does NOT describe the little hotel/B and B “Lindo Ajijic” where we stayed: A beautiful room with a little balcony with view of the lake, gardens, and surrounding mountains. From our vantage point even Lake Chapala looked clean and pristine (which it is not!) The setting in a lovely garden with a sparkling pool is serene and inviting. Some previous guests expressed some reservations about the big house dog, a mastiff, but she is the gentlest creature you will ever find. We loved her! The breakfasts were adequate, except for the red chilaquiles which were below standard/expectation (they seem to use a kind of tomato sauce out of a can.) But all in all, we loved the place and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We will go back there, no doubt, and encourage other travelers to check out “Lindo Ajijic.”

The Hotel Lindo is a beautiful property and one of the few places in Ajijic that has air conditioning. We are told most days of the year, AC is not needed, but it was unseasonably hot when we were there. We also greatly enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi at night. The breakfast the next morning was excellent. The only thing to note is that the address on the Hotels.com listing is not correct. The hotel is actually one block further west and we had to search for it on Google maps to find the correct location. Once we found it, we were rewarding with wonderful views of both Lake Chapala and the mountains behind it.

This is a quiet, very pretty and well managed 2 story hotel appointed on a hill looking down across Lake Chapala catching fresh breezes off the lake. The pool and hot tub are flanked by palm trees and a nice wide grass lawn on which you can do your morning yoga or stretching. Breakfast to order is included, and is ample. I found it very relaxing and retreat-like to stay here. I would definitely return. PS. When I had a question about the bill after I left, they were very responsive in getting back to me and figuring things out.

Our trip was a week-long and all I could say was WOW! The service was beyond excellent. Rooms #8 and room #4 were perfect for our family. The pool was clean and the jacuzzi in our room (#8) was great! The AC unit in room #4 needed maintenance and it was quickly taken care of. Lupita and her staff in the front lobby were the best of the best. We cannot wait to go back.

Stayed there for one week. Excellent facilities, including room, pool, Jacuzzi and breakfast area. Very nice staff as well, and an excellent value. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay there, while shopping for a house to rent long-term. One word of caution - lots of stairs. So perhaps not suitable for mobility-impaired.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. It is in the old town and perfectly placed for all the bars and restaurants. Our room was lovely and clean and the bathroom very modern. The staff were lovely and really helpful. There is a small cafe downstairs but for breakfast you are better off heading to one of the local cafes. The room was a good size and at the back of the hotel. There is a small pool, perfect to cool off in at the end of the day.

My spouse and I stayed 10 nights at the Hotel Casa Blanca in Ajijic, Mexico at the start of February 2020. We were thrilled to find this charming and romantic boutique hotel. The facilities were clean and well cared for. The staff was extraordinarily friendly and helpful. And the owner even took personal care to make sure our stay was comfortable. The staff was great in arranging taxis for us as needed to get around as well as from and back to the airport in Guadalajara. And they could give knowledgeable reviews of the local restaurants that were very helpful. There was even same-day laundry service, which we found very very helpful. The free breakfast was a nice continental style from 8 am to 11 am and included boiled eggs and local pastries as well as lots of lovely local fresh fruit. (They grow lots of raspberries and blackberries in the region.) And if something ran out, staff quickly replenished it for us. The price was pretty good for a full service boutique hotel. We had a kitchenette in our room with microwave, refrigerator and sink. And there was a charming private patio with a fountain out the backdoor of our room. A lovely place for a quiet drink and some local goat cheese and baguette from the local French bakery. They have discounts for longer stays, as well. Yes, we would love to go back to Ajijic for another vacation and we would plan to stay at Hotel Casa Blanca again.

I loved the hotel and it's staff. Everyone was so kind and went out of their way to make me comfortable. For example, I booked a spa package and a staff member walked me to the location. I could have easily found it but it was lovely that she made sure I got there without a problem. My bed was large and comfortable. There were a bunch of pillows just like I have on my bed at home (It's a girl thing, don't judge me!). My room had a patio which was shared with the room next door. There were plenty of dining option within walking distance, and Lake Chapala was about 2.5 blocks away. A continental breakfast was available. There's a small local restaurant right next door I frequented a couple times. The shower was large and had great water pressure. If you wanted to cook a meal, or in my case heat up leftovers, there was the means to do that. I appreciated have a fridge to keep my insulin cool. I highly recommend Hotel Casa Blanca.

Stayed in early October 2019 for 8 days. Felt safe, clean, and morning breakfast bar was light but enough to get going for the day - great coffee!!! Rooms were comparable for others in the area, had everything including a jug of bottled water, microwave, small fridge, shower and plenty of storage for all of our travel things. And a FAN! October was quite humid. The staff - Jesus and Monica arranged for Jessica to pick up at Guadalajara airport at 5am and driver had our keys. We checked in and paid up front (usual and customary) in the morning after some sleep. Great central location in Ajijic. Convenient for several options for meals within 2-3 blocks - Pasta Trenta sangria and Oui Oui breakfasts highly recommended! The only surprise was the 6am church bells and resounding loud bangs which are culturally appropriate Bring ear plugs and mosquito repellent and bite treatment. Would highly recommend. As two women travelers, we felt safe even coming in after dark.

We stayed four nights at this warm and welcoming boutique hotel in the heart of Ajijic's central village while we visited some friends living in town. The property is lovely with comfortable rooms, friendly and accommodating staff, and an ideal location for walking to the lake and the many shops and restaurants of the village. A light continental breakfast is included, and Bogart's - a private bar within the hotel is available from 2-9pm for a night cap after an evening in town. Reasonably priced transportation to and from the hotel is available upon request.
