Beautiful grounds and pool area, well maintained and manicured. The apartment was spacious and had everything we needed, except a corkscrew for wine! Plenty of parking and the staff were very pleasant. We enjoyed lounging by the pool, and being allowed have our small dogs with us by the pool was a big plus.

My husband and I had a fantastic stay in Ortensia Apartment for the last two weeks of July. The aircon was always cold, the bedroom dark for sleeping, a separate lounge and dining, kitchen, and a toilet and bathroom each! We had our own outdoor setting where we had coffee and breakfast everyday surrounded by the lovely grounds and beautiful birdsong. We were always given friendly greetings by fellow residents in the grounds and around the beautiful, large, shared pool area - which never felt crowded and had plenty of lounges, chairs, tables and umbrellas for everyone, as well as a great mix of shaded and sunny positions. The free carpark was easy to access and the host, Gianluca, was always amenable and answered queries promptly. We loved cycling and walking every morning in the surrounding areas - it is possible to walk to Cortona (but it takes about 60-90 minutes each way). We drove there every evening in 10 minutes for aperitivo, dinner and gelato and also did many trips to nearby towns for lunches and exploring. It was always a highlight of our day to relax by the pool in the afternoon on our return! We would definitely stay at Residence Casale again and would not hesitate to recommend it for a beautiful, relaxing stay in the heart of Tuscany.

We stayed at Residence Il Casale in August 2010. 1 week cost just £500 each (inc. flights to Pisa and car hire) through Expedia. The Residence is set in lovely grounds with around 8 individual cottages. When we stayed there were only a few families around and some days we ended up having the swimming pool (which is again is set in lovely grounds) to ourselves. We were put in a two-storey, two-bedroomed cottage, despite there only being the two of us and I would say it was an adequate size for a family of four. The accommdation is very rustic and Italian so you should be prepared for that! We found this very charming. Each cottage has a little terrace as well which we used on a night (although being in the countryside be prepared for lots of insect bites!). I would recommend having a hire car if you are going to stay at Residence Il Casale as Cortona is about a 7 minute drive up a VERY big hill. We also found the car useful for visiting other places such as Lake Tresimano, Montelpuciano and Perugia.

For the third summer in a row, I have found the respite I need by spending three weeks at iL Casale...I use it as a base for day trips to Pisa, Lucca, Sienna, Florence, and other places. But most of all, it is my home away from home...My most pleasant time is sitting by the pool and watching the beautiful grounds of fruit trees and flowers, attended so carefully by Angelino..while there is all you need to cook in your apartment, I enjoy dining at another sister property near by, Villa Baldelli, where jeans or bling are acceptable...as expected, it is the friendly, attentive,helpful staff that makes one feel at home. Cleanliness, quiet, value, location....cannot be better..One reminder, this is an old farmhouse, very quaint...not your Holiday Inn. I have already booked for next year with several friends...

I just returned from Italy, which included a 5 night stay at Residence Il Casale, with 3 other friends. We were welcomed when we arrived late at night by Mr. Victorio, who was very hospitable even though we hardly speak any Italian. Alessandra was also very helpful beforehand by answering emails with questions and when we got there. The apartment we stayed in was very clean and spacious for the 4 of us, with 2 full bathrooms and 2 large bedrooms. The property was beautiful, quiet and a place we all agreed that we would return to. The weather was just warming up so we didn't get to use the pool, but it was very clean surrounded by beautiful lawn and welcoming.

Our Host Andrea, was so very generous with gifts of wine and food, as well helping us source a doctor and interperate for us.. The location was excellent !! Not right in town but close enough to walk into town or hike up to Cortona which many of our family did... We were 9 people and spread out over the whole of the spacious and well appointed Villa. It was so peaceful and secure as well as picturesque. Nesttled in a beautiful garden and smack in the middle of an olive grove. Our family of 4 adult children, 2 of their partners, my husband and my 2 older sisters all enjoyed comfortable bedrooms and many bathrooms...

Top location outside, but close to, Cortona. The host is extremely helpful and friendly, the accommodation is equipped with everything one might need including dishwasher, iron, etc, the rooms are spacious and luxurious, and the views are stunning. A contact of the owner (Helena) cooked dinner for us, which is highly recommended. We accidentally broke something at the property, which the host took really well. Overall an extremely pleasant experience!

The Foresteria is a beautiful, calm and quiet agriturismo where you will truly experience an environment to wind down. The apartment was comfortable, the pool and garden are beautiful and very well maintained, and the restaurant is very good. Gabriele, the host and man that wears a thousand hats around the Agriturismo, really makes your stay even better with his happiness, willingness to help and great tips for things to do. The Agriturismo is located perfectly, with a lot of sights around Tuscany within 45-60 minutes. We really enjoyed our stay!

A beautiful old house. comfortably furnished. Large rooms, each with its own bathroom. more than enough space for 11 people. Kids also used the pool, although the weather was not really nice at the end of April. The estate is surrounded by orchards, not what you expect in Tuscany, but very beautiful. We received fresh food and homemade juice as a welcome.

The location was perfect. Close to many cities like Florenz, Siena, Arezzo, Cortona etc. and yet very quiet and peaceful. Pool is an extra and the staff were very friendly. Monica was like a friend to us, although we can not speak the same language.

Very well kept, very functional and very accommodating/helpful staff. Good size of our accommodation, and well working kitchen. The pool was great.

Great, comfortable, stylish house with the amazing view at the valley, the little town nearby and mountains. Quiet and peaceful, but close to facilities as many shops and restaurants in Castiglion Fiorentino. Everything in the house is cosy but modern, new and comfortable. Every person from the family and friends had own place. Great, big kitchen fully equiped - it was pleasure to cook there and spending time with family and friends. Beautifully equiped and charming rooms, most of them with own bathrooms. In the house there is everything you can think about and need during the stay. The home is located in the heart of the region, so having a car it is possible to sightsee all most interesting places in Tuscany. Leo is very nice, friendly, professional nad helpful host who cares of his guests. High reccomendations! It was the big pleasure to spend my spare time in Podere and I hope I will back :)

Beautiful house with amazing view. We have been to Tuscany a few times and this was by far the best location we had. The house was fully equipped with everything imaginable. With a fully gated, large garden, it is also a petfriendly location. A 15-20 minute drive to the old village with great restaurants, while the house is quiet, private and surrounded by nature. Leo and Elena were great hosts, and we would be very happy to come again.

Beautiful house and very well equiped. The location is a little remote (15min drive uphill from the nearest town and partly offroad), but that comes with a great view and a very quick place. Leo responds very quickly and is very easy to communicate with. Highly recommended

Very charming house and garden. Federico is a wonderful host. His dog and cat are heart winning. Everything was very very nice. We could park our camper van right on the other side if the street. (I did not want to destroy overhanging branches at the garden gate with my big means of transport. Though, there‘d been enough space at the villa‘s parking lot.)

The place was charming. The garden was magical and the Owner was an amazing person. Helpful and happy to recommend trips and places! Great breakfast! We felt like home!

This villa is brilliant! The inside space is clean and roomy, and everyone was very happy with the beds. The kitchens are well equipped and both have everything you would want. There is also a good bar-b-q, with all the elements you need provided, so al fresco cooking and dining are possible, if you want. The pool was a favourite area for everyone and it is one of the best we have enjoyed. It is a good size, and not too deep, so all members of the family felt comfortable; worth noting that it is deep enough that it still feels like a good pool. It is a very pleasant short walk into Cortona from the villa (15 minutes ish) which is great for lunches and dinners, which can be enjoyed with a glass of something without worrying about driving. There are torches in the villa so no issues about walking back in the dark. Giulia, the host, was the fabulous, friendly and helpful. The welcome pack is so generous and it lasted us for a few days. The olive oil is produced by the owners and we took advantage of buying some more to bring home. We had a fabulous time and are looking forward to when we can go back.

The perfect villa in the best location - a 20 minute, pleasant and scenic, walk to Cortona but far enough away to enjoy the beautiful views and sunsets over the town. No real need for a car either (we didn't hire one). The pool is great and the owners regularly come (before anyone else is awake) to maintain it. The villa was spotlessly clean and ample towels, for the bathroom and the pool, were all provided. There is everything you need for a comfortable stay in the house and Alessandro and Guilia provided a fabulous table full of local bread, cheese, wine and vegetables to greet us on arrival! They even collected us from the station and offered to drive us to the supermarket to do our first shop and brought us mid-week pastries 😍. We felt thoroughly spoilt and could not have had a lovelier trip in a more magnificent location. Don't miss a trip to the hermitage Le Celle just 30 minutes walk from the villa (opposite direction to town) while you are here - incredible place. Thank you so much, Alessandro and Guilia!!

The Villa is absolutely beautiful and located on the hillside with a stunning view over the valley. It is very comfortable and in two levels with two bedrooms, a kitchen and bathroom each. Very good concept for us as we were friends-couples. The pool is a very good size and well kept. It's clean, and the water does not smell strongly of chloride. One evening we used the grill, which was clean and worked perfectly. The owners/staff are super friendly and helpful! We got help with local wineries and also to get a professional chef to come to the house and cook a four course dinner for us, which was great! We totally recommend this villa, and we will surely be back again!

Amazing location with beautiful views across the Tuscan countryside. Giulia and Alessandro the owners were lovely and there to assist all our needs. The property is very private with garden and swimming pool, the perfect retreat! It is also located close to Cortona, a 15 minute walk takes you into the centre which is fabulous with lots of bars and restaurants to choose from. The surrounding countryside is stunning, sunsets magnificent and this is a great place to base yourself for exploring the rest of Tuscany.

We spent a wonderful week at this property. Beautiful views, peace and quiet, birdsong, sunshine, and an authentic Tuscan atmosphere—you can really feel the Italian tradition and charm. It was exactly what we were looking for. You can walk to Cortona in just over 20 minutes, and the access is good, although it might seem a bit challenging for some people. Giulia is very helpful, kind, and friendly. Overall, we rate our stay very highly and definitely recommend it :))

Villa il Palazzo was everything we wished for - and more! We were 15 adults and 5 kids and we fit comfortably. Lorenzo, the owner was really nice and helpful. Check in and check out and everything else too went without a problem. Villa was as nice as it is in the pictures. Everything was clean and everything worked (some kitchen equipment needed an extra plug-in though that could be found attached to the hairdryer). Location is great. We did several day trips to near by towns such as Arezzo and Cortona of course. Several wine yards are also nearby and worth visiting! Villa has good space for parking and nice facilities over all. We loved the pool! The pool was cleaned also during our stay which was very nice. All in all I would recommend 100% ! We loved Tuscany and Villa il Palazzo. Thank you Lorenzo!

The pool and garden were amazing and huge. The house was separated into several apartments to guarantee privacy for all our friends. In the basement was a big kitchen and dining room. Amazing facilities. Everything was very clean. Lorenzo was lovely and also supported us with recommendations for local restaurants.

Captivating location - the views, the sunsets, the sounds of church bells or the morning cockerel drifting across the wide valley, the smell of the pine woods and the thrum of the cicadas. Sophisticated and timeless Tuscan nature which one appreciates from so many terraces (the one by the large and lovely pool being the best). The house is large, each bedroom is ensuite and the mattresses are comfortable. Just a 15 minute jaunt into beautiful and interesting Arezzo, but utterly buried in nature. The hosts are very responsive and helpful. A very hard place to leave!

The property and surrounding views are absolutely breathtaking. Very serene and private while very close to Arezzo. The property, including the pool, is very well maintained and stocked with everything you need , and the hosts are very well organized, responsive and accommodating.. The property is within one hour drive to many major attractions including Florence.

Very nice villa in a very nice location. The owner (living in the other part of the house) is very friendly and does his best to ensure a perfect stay, while at the same time you do not take notice that someone else is staying in the house. The pool is great, the garden beautiful and the house refurbished in original Tuscany style. A perfect place to stay, if you are looking for really relaxing days with the family. There is also table tennis, a nice playground for children and some workout equipment (treadmill, etc.). Siena and Firenze within 1h - but we decided to stay just in the villa and at the pool, because it was so relaxing to be there!

The location is amazing and the house has all the comfort you want for a big family, we were with 9 adults and 2 small children. Kitchen equipment is sufficient and towels are provided. great shadowed areas for breakfast/dinner and a barbecue ready to fire. The cars are parked under a roof. Super large and clean swimming pool, a jacuzzi and a large garden for playing games. It further offers a pingpong-table and a soccer-table. No need to leave the estate, only for doing groceries. Good large grocery stores are nearby. We all were very satisfied and recommend this to everyone.

Wow - what a fantastic home and location.We were met at the property and received a welcome back of food and drinks. We have rented holiday homes for over 20 years and this is, without doubt, the best we have ever stayed at. All facilities were excellent and the house and grounds are so big. Lovely house and beautiful grounds in a quiet, quirky Toscan town. You could hear the crickets at night, and see the stars from the garden. The pool was clean and of a good size, and we loved eating figs directly from the trees in the garden. Simone (the host) was very helpful and welcoming! He told us about the local bakery for fantastic bread and about a great place to get Salumi artigianali (Bruschi), which had fantastic products. I hope to return to this charming place!

The stay was great especially because of the beautiful garden that offered cosy places to have dinner or a drink in the evening and the swimming pool which was always clean. But especially Alessandra made us feel really welcome. Her hospitality and help were wonderful. Alessandra thanks for everything!

We loved everything about Podere San Cassiano. It's a 200 year old farm house that has been totally renovated with care and attention to detail. The house is very spacious, very comfortable, and fully equipped with a dishwasher and washing machine. We loved eating breakfast outside, relaxing at the pool, and generally enjoying the peacefulness of the surrounding woods. The house is tugged away, giving you a lot of privacy. We couldn't have asked for more.

Our hosts were super friendly, very helpful and gave us lots of recommendations. Leo answered questions very quickly. The house was beautifully situated on a large plot and very quiet, so we had it all to ourselves. The facilities in the accommodation are really very good. We loved using the pool, which was cleaned every 2 days. WLAN worked perfectly. We were 10 minutes by car from Castiglion Fiorentino (CF), a quiet, beautiful town. Destinations in Tuscany and also in Umbria were easy to reach (valuable tip from our hosts: take the train for the day trip to Florence, direct connection from CF, Railway punctual, well organised, air-conditioned - great). The aforementioned wild boars sometimes came to the fruit trees, interesting to watch, but were very shy and disappeared immediately when we spoke or clapped our hands. We had relatively little trouble with mosquitoes and horseflies because Leo uses a kind of mosquito trap. Btw: Waste is seperated. We did't have any sewer odour.

Podere San Cassiano is serenity in stone, wood and tile. The surrounding hills are filled with birdsong from sunup to sundown. Leo, our host, is as delightful and helpful as is possible.

We were expecting to have a beautiful accomodation, but when we arrived and saw the property and the room we remained speechless. It was exactly like you see in movies. The room had bedsheets and towels changed everyday, the breakfast was delicious, the pool area was very nice, the room was stunning, and the serenity and the peace you feel here gives you the whole package. Also, easy access by car to main cities, such as Arezzo, Siena, Montepulciano, Pienza, Cortona is just 10 minutes away by car and it is a lovely city. We will definitely come back here because we loved everything

Elisa Chatzivasiliadou + friends Wonderful experience! A beautiful hotel, clean, spacious, wonderful smiling people and helpful. Sufficiently equipped spaces, traditional rooms . The breakfast is handmade, handmade jams and tarts, made the same day. The exterior common area is wonderful. The pool proved to be a lifesaver for our teenager kids- while the lovely staff took care of our drinks- clean and beautiful, complementing the beauty of the landscape. The outdoor space is lovely, lush and well-kept. Tranquility, relaxation, the embodiment of "dolce far niente", in an idyllic landscape. Our stay there will be unforgettable. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Our stay at the villa was magic, even better than the photos. We had the apartment that fit 4 people comfortably, came with a kitchen and everything you needed in the room. Everything! it looked exactly as it did in the photos - though the rooms didn’t feel as ‘old’ as they did in the pics - much more fresh in real life. from the moment we arrived the staff were so welcoming. we arrived before checkin but were able to use the pool and ordered a delicious array of salads, cold meat and breads etc for lunch while we were waiting. great options for set menu dinners (they adapted for children but would have been great to have a more general child friendly menu option as well - pasta/pizza). buffet breakfast was also amazing - such an array and variety of great food. pool was perfect temperature and very much enjoyed by all as it was hot summer weather and we rotated from lounger to pool to lounger again. Nothing was too much to ask for the staff - they happily accommodated any requests and always had a smile on their faces. Absolutely stunning location and grounds/buildings.

Beautiful, quiet setting with lovely views. The staff were highly attentive and friendly. We loved the quirky, original decor and homely ambience. There are plenty of different areas to chill out and relax in. The swimming pool is amazing with top-quality sun-loungers, umbrellas, side tables and chairs. There is also a Jacuzzi. Our dual-aspect bedroom, with good quality air-conditioning, was wonderful with nice views of the countryside and pool. The breakfast is phenomenal, and was included in the price. (They were particularly good at catering for gluten-free). We liked the hassle-free 'tab' system where drinks and food purchases are paid for at the end of your stay. This was clearly itemised and printed off for us to see. The roof-top restaurant provided top-quality food priced at the local-rate. (The price of a meal there was comparable to that of a good restaurant in near-by Cortona.) We will definitely be returning to Villa Schiatti in the future, and would highly recommend it.

This is a surprising gem of a hotel! We actually had rubbish wet weather when we stayed which was a shame as the pool area and the rooftop terrace would have been fabulous on a sunny day. Everything about this hotel delighted us. The staff were all friendly and helpful, the breakfasts were excellent - the best we had all holiday. Because of the downpours we opted to dine in the restaurant on two of our nights and the food was first class and terrific value. Our room was small but had a lovely view over both the pool and the surrounding countryside and there's a pretty courtyard for evening drinks. There are also nice walks along the quiet lanes around the hotel. Highly recommended.

Chose this hotel outside Cortona for its views and pool and neither disappointed. The grounds and pool are beautifully kept, and plenty of seating/sunbeds with shade if you want it (I do!). Dinner on the terraced outdoor restaurant was also accompanied by a fab sunset over the valley. Room had character, was clean, and with quiet aircon. Breakfast was a veritable feast if you wanted it, and the variety, even for those of us wanting savoury options, was excellent. The location was only a 10-minute drive from Cortona, which had ample parking.

Most importantly, everyone who worked there was lovely. They thought about everything and were very attentive. The food at dinner was lovely (try the ragu or pistacchio tortellini- to die for) with a spectacular breakfast selection. The Villa is situatd looking over the plains of Tuscany - the view is spectacular and you see it from the eating terrace and the pool. The swimming pool is just gorgeous and, when the sun becomes too much, there is a lovely dappled shade courtyard where we spent time sipping aperols and reading. I had to be taken to hospital when there and the owner was brilliant in supporting us durng and after my time in hospital.

The Monastery was beautifully appointed having up to date fittings in a historic building. All facilities were 1st class, beautiful internal “Roman Bath” with attractive plunge pool in a lovely patio area with good quality Sun beds and a ready supply of towels. The staff, in all areas were most attentive and satisfied all our requirements. Excellent restaurants with superb cocktail barman.

The visit was preceded by cheerful and professional communications with staff member Iulia. It is a little challenging to get to this property through the narrow streets of Cortona by car and so Iulia guided us aptly to the inside garage during a brief a cell call. The property itself is spectacular and without exception, the staff is friendly, unpretentious and eager to please. The property began life as a 13th century monastery, but was tastefully and elegantly renovated, sparing no detail or expense, beginning in 2009 and finishing up in 2018 just before Covid hit. Clearly the owners must have been disappointed to spend a large sum with little return upon opening. There is no doubt that the staff and the surroundings will encourage you to return. The facility is immaculately kept. The beds seemed new and were comfortable. There is an attractive courtyard with plunge pool at one end and an amply shaded area for outdoor dining at breakfast opposite. An indoor lounge just outside a well appointed indoor dining area fir dinner was adorned with tapestry and frescoes providing ample room. There is a wonderful underground thermal spa on the premises. Carolina, Claudio, Ilario and others whose names did not fully register, delivered expert service with smiles all around.

The Monastero Di Cortona Hotel & Spa was exceptional. We got lost in the old city upon arrival and when we called the hotel for help, the staff happily walked to our location, jumped into the car and directed us to our location. We were just around the corner, but didn't know it! The staff were universally incredibly friendly and genuinely kind, which made our stay that much more memorable and enjoyable. Our room had a wonderful view and the bed was so inviting with super soft luxurious sheets. Breakfast was complete with lots of options and was delicious, often taking us through the day. Easy walking access to wonderful restaurants and all the sights of the old city. I encourage dining at the Hotel as the restaurant is superb and the service outstanding. Plunge pool was larger than expected and wonderful to enjoy after a day of sightseeing. Five star service at every level!

We stayed in this hotel in April and from the moment we arrived the welcome was unparalleled. All of the staff were exceptional in their own roles from reception to waitresses to spa. We are now super relaxed after a massage, gorgeous wine and food in both restaurants and a refreshing dip in the plunge pool! Special thanks to Taziana the sommelier with her sunny disposition, Ilario and Ana and to Marco for the fabulous cocktails always with a little extra . In the heat of Tuscan sunshine this is an idyllic place to retreat to just as the monks used to. I think they would approve of its current usage and tasteful deco! We hope to be back!

We turned up early on a very wet day, and they still had our room ready on arrival. We were in room 15, which is a studio with a bedroom on a mezzanine level. The bed was super comfy. The shower was good but had a tendency to go cold, it might need a new thermostat. Our terrace was fabulous with a table and 4 chairs and was covered so that we could sit out in the rain, taking in the peace and quiet of nature around us. We had two tv's in our room with international news stations. As we were unable to go anywhere due to the awful weather, this came in very handy. They were smart tv's so you could watch YouTube etc too. The restaurant on site is superb and reasonably priced. For lunch, we found a local osteria called La Toretta, a 5 minute drive away, which was delicious and, again, very reasonably priced. The swimming pool looked lovely, a great size with ample sun loungers, changing areas and showers. However, due to the weather, we did not take advantage of the pool. Breakfast was served in the outside garden as the weather had cleared, which was charming. Parking was near to our room and was covered, an excellent idea. They also provide electric charging stations in the car parking area. Another highlight was the beautiful alpacas. You will find them behind the swimming pool.

Our stay at La Capanne was simply exceptional! Tuscany is no longer just a dream—it became reality here. The place is so beautiful in every detail: the vibes, the style, the staff, the restaurant, the food, the breakfast, and the pool… everything was perfect. Honestly, it feels underrated because it deserves even more recognition.

The Location itself is an old and carefully renewed farm. The Owner showed us Pictures before and after the renewal. The Breakfast is served in an seperated part of the facilities. The Restaurant is wonderful. The Pool was a more than welcome refreshment in these hot days.

Breakfast was an excellent buffet with a very pleasant garden location. The dinner was excellent also and served in the garden, although the internal restaurant area looked very pleasant also. The swimming pool was clean with good changing facilities.

This was a traditional old farm in a remote location but had everything you could need for a short stay, pool area was very nice and the dinning/ breakfast area was beautiful.

First off, Cortona is BEAUTIFUL AND AMAZING! Such an amazing old walled city to walk, photograph and enjoy! Second, this property is one of the most beautiful and ancient places I’ve ever stayed! The halls and rooms were stunning. Old stone and iron everywhere. We stayed in the top room with the terrace. Oh man, I just can’t tell you how beautiful and fun this stay was. We sat on the terrace and watched the meteor shower while I did night photography! This property is stunning. The parking down the hill was free! Just pull into the parking lot, park, then call the desk to get you a taxi up to the hotel! Unless you’re fit and can climb a hill with suitcases get a quick 2 minute taxi up there! Trust me, it’s a walled city and the walk up and down is a thing! It’s only 150 yards or so but damn, it’s an ancient cobble stone hill! Get the ride! Bring comfy shoes because you’re gonna walk the whole town!

We were both delighted and terrified about staying at this hotel! It was a great hotel in all aspects a traveler wanted. The room was great.The staff was great. The hotel itself was very interesting with some large common rooms which were perfect settings for your camera. The hotel was a couple steps from the main charming square where they shot the movie Under The Tuscan Sun. So it was in a perfect location, right? Not so fast! The perfect location was also on top of a very steep hill, and the road was a very narrow coble-stone road. I guess it was nothing if you were the local. But for a bad American driver like myself, it was terrifying. My tiny underpowered rental car bearly squeezed through the road, and I was lucky not to run over anyone because the road was so steep all I could see was the blue sky above, not the road below. It was some experience! But, we got through the fear and had a wonderful time at this hotel

What's not to love about this hotel? It's historic, beautiful, clean, and steps away from the center of town. We were able to walk quickly into the heart of Cortona and enjoy a glass of wine or a cappuccino. We stayed here four nights and used this location as a base to visit other small quaint towns in the Tuscany region. Cortona is old with very narrow cobblestone streets and great views. Our room was spacious and quiet and everything worked to perfection. Housekeeping kept our room well stocked with supplies. A scrumptious breakfast was offered each morning which did not disappoint. Plenty of options with hot drinks. The staff was very friendly and helpful and assisted on a few occasions in making dinner reservations for us. The price of the hotel was very reasonable. I'm not sure where you would park a car if you drove a car here. Staying in a hotel that is hundreds of years old is truly amazing.

Our suite was quite spacious compared to Europe standards. The staff was very courteous and willing to help with any needs. They gave us great restaurants suggestions and made reservations for us. Continental breakfast was always good with a good variety of breads, pastries, cheeses, eggs, juices and of course coffees. One of the best things about this hotel is that they have parking within the city of Cortona and they will valet your car for you! Nobody wants to haul their luggage up the hill! It’s a great place to stay with great, friendly and helpful staff at a great price within walking distance of everything within the town of Cortona. I highly recommend it.

I will stay in Cortana could not have been any better, we could not have picked a better hotel. The location is wonderful and right in the middle of the town. The rooms were clean and plenty of character and looked out with a fantastic view. The hotel staff were incredible, so friendly and helpful and even offered to send some belongings we left behind After checkout to us. We were travelling with kids and they accommodated our every need. I would 100% stay at this hotel again just based on the service we received. The actual building was really a bonus and the walk ability made our stay perfect! Great job hotel staff!!!!!

It is beautiful here. Located about a mile and a quick taxi ride to town. We were tired from our travels and we’re so happy when we arrived to the beautiful resort. The staff were all so friendly and available for anything you needed. The grounds were lush and green and well cared for. Our room was very clean, spacious and inviting. There is a beautiful spa and two pools available. My daughter and I both received massages. We were both very happy with the massage therapist. Lunch and dinner we’re available and so delicious. Breakfast was included in our stay with a wonderful assortment of high quality fruits, croissants, yogurts, meats, cheeses and you could order an omelet or scrambled eggs for a little extra. The morning choice if coffees was very appreciated and added that extra special touch. I loved my cappuccinos with hearts and even a cute bear foam floating on top. It’s the little things. We could stay forever. The price and quality were exceptional!!! We will cherish this week always! If you’re considering to book or not…you won’t regret it!!! Our family (parents in their 80's, and three of us in our 50's) stayed here for a few days in June 2024 as a last minute change from a villa we had previously booked. What a blessing to have found this little gem! We are well-traveled, but never thought of ourselves as "Spa People". However, we LOVED our time at the Resort. The rooms, spa, grounds and restaurant were all topnotch - but for us, the staff really made our trip here special. Everyone was so gracious and helpful (without being pretentious) during our stay. The breakfast is incredible and you can even get eggs cooked to order for a small, added fee. After already spending 9 days of walking steep cobblestone streets around Italy; the Turkish bath, salt cave, sauna, and hydrotherapy jets in the pool felt amazing to our sore muscles and feet. The zero-gravity beds in the Relaxation Room were so therapeutic, that my sister got the brand-name so she could buy one back in the States. I would not hesitate to recommend the Cortona Resort and Spa to fellow explorers, and plan to stay there again when we return to Italy.

This is a beautiful resort surrounded by nature and wonderfully close to Cortona and the nearby lake. We only stayed one night as an escape from the city but we're greeted by friendly staff and a beautiful room, they even upgraded us which was a treat! Lovely room and super comfy bed as I'm a light sleeper in new places, this was great. Loved the warm pools and sauna, wonderful to experience on a cold day. Would love to go back in Summer to experience the gardens more as they look beautiful. The breakfast is also really great, lots of fresh fruit, yogurt and home made pastry

Villa Aurelia is a beautiful property in a beautiful setting, away from the crowds and impossible parking of Cortona, but close enough for an easy visit. My room, in a small building separate from the main hotel, was lovely, the swimming pools were clean and beautiful and the restaurant served very good food. The chef even packed me an excellent picnic lunch on a day that I was going out to explore the Tuscan countryside in my rental car.

We enjoyed the staff! The chef, Nichola, prepared exceptional meals and was so very pleasant! The restaurant staff were all remarkable - with Dina shining like a bright star. Rumor has it that cooking classes with Nichola may be offered in the future - love that idea!! We enjoyed all of the amenities, but our evenings in the pool was our favorite.

The breakfasts were exceptional gourmet experiences – everything served was fresh and delicious, and we especially enjoyed the chef’s handmade savory delicacies made from local ingredients. Each evening from 7 to 8 PM, signature cocktails and snacks were offered – greetings to the lovely young man who mixed our drinks! We were able to park our car for free on the street next to the hotel, and a hotel staff member arranged the spot for us. Normally, parking can be difficult during the tourist season, but I believe we would have found a spot a bit further away if necessary, as there are several parking lots around the town and there were spaces available in the evenings. We will miss this hotel and the time we spent in Cortona. We’ve been to Cortona twice before, but this experience and hotel choice surpassed all previous visits. We’ll definitely come back to the same place in the future. Thank you for a wonderful holiday!

Marina and the team at Villa Marsili made our long weekend magical. They greeted us like long time friends visiting, my husband had never been previously to the hotel, but I had a few times before. He was blown away by the friendliness and warmth from ALL the team there. We treated ourselves to a Cookery Class with Ilaria and it was so much fun, and delicious! Breakfast was amazing, I said AMAZING! We have travelled all over the world and never ever have we had a breakfast this delicious, varied and extensive. Marina and her team pride themselves so much with attention to detail, it is so wonderful to see and to experience. They just cannot do enough for you. Cortona and the surrounding area is so beautiful, we found the hotel so relaxing we really didn't leave that much. It was just exactly the peaceful break we were looking for. We loved this hotel. Its staff is as helpful, willing, and present as at a very high-end hotel and as friendly and personable as at a cozy b&b. Our room was lovely--sunny, spacious, and comfortable--and the shower was perfect! The breakfast buffet in the morning was amazing, too. Two tables full of savory and sweet options including an array of cheeses, charcuterie, ricotta-stuffed zucchini flowers, asparagus wrapped in bacon, baby eggplant stuffed with tomatoes, polenta. There was fresh fruit, muesli, and yogurt, cakes, croissants, and custard tarts as well as the necessities of coffee and tea. In the evening there were nibbles available in the lounge and bar stocked with whatever you might desire. Everything was wonderful! I highly recommend this hotel for couples and, I think, for families. It's centrally located in Cortona--just 2 hills to climb to cafes, gelaterias, art galleries, museums--everything except the many other churches and gardens that are some 8 hills away.

Villa Marsili is a dream! The hotel is a boutique hotel and it is truly from a different world. The hotel itself is a historical villa which is classical and beautifully decorated throughout with antique furniture. The breakfast is simply the best and by far one of the tastiest breakfasts I have ever eaten in a hotel. (I have traveled extensively). I recommend trying the delicious delicacies which their chef prepares. They are amazing! Our room was extremely comfortable and had a fabulous shower with a great pressure. The staff there are so friendly and helpful. They take time to explain and tell you where to go. In the late evening, they have this wonderful Tuscan tradition of serving Vin Santo and cantucci as well as other biscotti. It’s just a lovely touch before you turn in for the night. I definitely recommend staying at Villa Marsali it is wonderful!

This hotel has a good location on the hillside at the base of the old town of Cortona. You can easily walk to the town, and it was easy to get away to explore the surrounding area (like Montalcino and Montepulciano). Our room was bright, clean and airy, with a great view south to Umbria and Lake Trasimeno. We were there during a heat wave and the A/C was fine. The staff are very friendly and helpful (they helped us find and book a restaurant for dinner), and have many guidebooks available in various languages. There were many nice touches at this hotel, like the afternoon snacks and the post dinner cantucci and vin santo in the main salon. Our bedroom was quiet at night. The location is also convenient for getting back to Rome - the airport is a 2.5 hour drive.

Hotel Italia was such a pleasure! My trip to Cortona was just an overnight one (sadly so). It was very last minute and Hotel Italia popped up as a very centrally located, highly admired, affordable, boutique style hotel. I reserved a simple, one-person room, but upon check in, they offered me a very generous upgrade to a larger room in a higher floor with a stunning view of the valley below. I am sure some rooms have more of a view than others, as I am sure that some rooms are more spacious than others, but I can tell you that the staff was cordial, friendly and always smiling. They kept me at ease and at home. The included breakfast upstairs in the last floor terrace was a wonderful bonus too! I highly recommend Hotel Italia for your stay in Cortona, and can't wait to go back myself! Thank you!

The room,staff, breakfast, and location is amazing. The views are breathtaking. Loved the complimentary Cappuccino. They called a Taxi to pick me up at the train station. I was in Cortona for a wedding and the staff went above and beyond to make my stay excellent! The wedding was at a villa located in the hills of Tuscany but they found the best taxi driver to help me find this neighborhood. He even came back to pick me up in the middle of the night! Keep in mind that they do not have any street lights? The breakfast was incredible with the most amazing view of the lake. Also, I needed a couple extra hours for a late checkout and they were very understanding. They told me to take my time and it was not a hassle at all. Hotel Italia is a GREAT PLACE TO STAY!!!

Great location once you don't drive into Cortona by car . Park outside the castle walls and you will avoided fine. Hotel staff were one of the friendliest we encountered in all our time travelling. We were on holidays from working with "The general public" so sorry we didn't interact with them too much. Breakfast was free but lots to choose from. There is a coffee machine but ask the lady and she will bring you fresh coffee on request . Room 30 was big and very comfortable. Shower / toilet room was large and bright. View from breakfast room amazing . It was thunder and lightning one morning and it added to the views . Diego and Ramana met us at reception the first day and till we left they were on hand to answer any questions or issues . We will be back .

This is a lovely small hotel right in the center of Cortona, one of the most charming and beautiful hill towns in Tuscany (Frances Mayes lives here and immortalized it in "Under the Tuscan Sun"). I stayed in a double room one time, without a view, but this time I stayed in a very small single room with a spectacular view out over the valley. The room was indeed very small, but the view.....well, I will request this room when alone for any subsequent trips! The staff is wonderful - friendly and helpful. There is no minibar but the staff will deliver to your room what ever you might normally want from a minibar. The hotel is very affordable and the experience really lovely.

From start to finish, a great stay. From booking and receiving full and extremely helpful answers to my questions about getting to the hotel by public transport (Piazza Garibaldi if arriving by bus), to hints and tips on dining and shopping, to looking after a piece of cheese I’d bought at a previous town, the staff could not have been more warm, kind and friendly. The view from breakfast over the valley is gorgeous and the lady who checked me in was right, I did get a great view of the sunset from my quiet and peaceful room. I will definitely be back as my one night stopover was just not long enough in this delightful hilltop town.

The Hotel Minerva is one of my favorite places we stayed while touring Italy. Close enough to the historical center that you can get to the churches and Medici fortress within 30-45 minutes at a leisurely pace. The included breakfast had many options, and I would recommend heading downstairs to the restaurant for at least one of your meals while in Arezzo though you may want to set a reservation during peak travel season since it seems many locals also enjoy the restaurant. Will definitely stay there again if we travel back to Arezzo in the future.

It is located within a 10-15 minute walk of all the interesting sites of Volterra. The room was average but clean, quiet and it had a view to the hotel's pool.

My mother and I booked a room the day before and drove from Lucca to Arezzo. We ate dinner at the hotel and also had breakfast the following morning. Both were buffets and had a great selection. I was very impressed with the wait staff - they were so attentive and nice to all the diners. The front desk personnel were helpful and friendly as well. We booked a standard room with 2 beds and it was fine. The shower was great. Everything was clean and comfortable. Also, the hotel was easy to find (not always the case in Italy)

What a lovely hotel! The most comfortable seating in public spaces and comfortable beds/pillows. Rooms are compact but perfect for being a tourist — who hangs out in hotel rooms? Right in the center of this darling town full of incredibly kind and welcoming people. They could not have been nicer or more helpful at the hotel. Friends who live in cortona halftime recommended it and we understand why! Beautifully appointed, perfect location.

We really loved this property! We stayed for our honeymoon and the morning breakfast was excellent, staff was super friendly, and our balcony view felt like a picture! We messaged them through WhatsApp and they even scheduled a taxi to pick us up at the train station and bring us to the hotel and back to the train station on our last day! We will definitely be back!

Lovely hotel with stunning views. A little confusing because reception was on the top floor, and rooms were below - totally logical given the landscape. Restaurant was very good. Breakfast service staff were very accommodating. My delayed luggage was received by the hotel after my departure. They contacted our tour leader and hotel staff delivered my luggage to me in Florence the same day! That's customer service!

We had 5 night in Cortona, Hotel San Luca was perfect location. The view from the hotel is fabulous. We had a car and while we could have tried to score free parking we used the hotel parking at 15euro per night… money week spent as the car was parked right outside the hotel entry! BEAUTIFUL complete resort…what you imagine when visiting Tuscany for an ultra high end experience. Everything was fantastic including the dining in all 3 restaurants…I highly recommend experiencing all 3 restaurants and at least 2x each (Osteria Del Borro should be Michelin rated with 2-stars, it’s heaven…I recommend their tasting menu that’s full of surprise extras, like 6 extra tastings). Best included breakfast ever in a beautiful setting with super large wine cellar. All 3 infinity pools are luxurious, provide full conveniences such as wait, bar, food, and towel services. The staff is awesome, so kind, courteous and identify guests are there for a high end experience. Take the wine & cheese tour it’s not only charming and interesting, but you’ll likely meet good folks/other guests. Our villa was absolutely magnificent and included a large steam shower, backyard perfect for wine tasting, complimentary bottle of IL Borro wine and unlimited drinks replaced 2x daily. IL Borro also celebrates the Ferragamo family (who we saw on property) and brand with select Ferragamo items for purchase, we indulged. Plan to send a case or 2 of wine home, their shipping to the States is completely reasonable and their IL Borro 2020 Tuscana (red - drinks like a Cabernet Sauvignon) is full bodied, well balanced, great flavors…we loved it, and is priced well. We cracked many of their whites and rose’s, both great, as we visited in June/summer. Needless to say, we will be back!!

You feel like you are living in a medieval village (because you are) without all the negatives of living in a medieval village. The restoration of the borgo and related facilities is rather amazing. Our room was in the borgo section rather than the hotel or villa sections, which we preferred (although everywhere there would be nice). It is a rather unique experience; beautiful and quiet. The rooms in the borgo retain their character while being modern. The restaurants were excellent, above all the gourmet restaurant. The facilities are extensive, especially if you want to ride horses, play tennis or just sit by one of the pools. It is easy to want to stay there and never leave until you have to.

The location of this resort about 70 kms from Florence in the beautiful Tuscan countryside is truly amazing. My wife and I stayed in a Classic room within the old medieval village in a bed that was very comfortable in a well fitted out room. The breakfasts were delicious and staff very helpful. There were some amazing walks to be had on the property along with a choice of swimming pools. The restaurants and bars had a great selection of food and wine. Our stay was a truly 5 star experience. Our grandkids also enjoyed their experience at horseriding.

This an amazing property in a most beautiful Tuscan setting. The heated infinity pool is incredible. The restaurants are outstanding and the estates wines our brilliant and make sure you book a wine tasting with Florence. The staff and all very friendly and most professional. The view are incredible and our suite was more like a luxurious Tuscan villa, massive bedroom, bathroom and living room including a large dinning table. The property as great walking trails, golf course and even its own ancient chapel and castle ruin. This is a very special property in a beautiful part of Italy.

Let me just say that Salvatorre Ferragamo is either the owner or a partner at this amazingly beautiful Chateaux. Everything you ever wanted, from the old to the new you can find here. Wine tasting, horse back riding, cooking classes, three swimming pools, etc, etc. Amazing place but not for the budget minded. Here you come to go all out. Will definitely come back everytime i can. Best Vin Santo in all of Tuscany !!!

The bed was so comfortable, it was the best mattress and pillow in 2 weeks of all hotels we slept in in whole Italy. Enough space for luggage, bathroom very nice and clean as well, fancy glass sink !! Breakfast was ok but not great.

Room was cozy, easy access, free parking and very friendly staff. Breakfast was plentiful and coffee was good. We had late night arrival and leafy early. Only thing in negative side was the fetter pillows. First time ever in my hotel night, me being allergic, wish I did have a choice.

When visiting Arezzo, I recommend Hotel Continentale. An excellent value that brings charm and sincere hospitality to its guests. The rooftop bar is gorgeous and the views are magnificent. Enjoy a wine, cocktail or after dinner drink while viewing the lights of the city and the lovely night sky. The hotel manager are so friendly and helpful. Let them recommend a restaurant. We did and it was an awesome casual experience. Breakfast in the morning is a beautiful display of everything and anything you could possibly want. Ask for Egidio one of the managers. The other manager was great as well.

Wonderful 4 night stay at Hotel Continentale in Arezzo, IT. We had a quiet comfortable room in a hotel that is a 10 mins. walk from the train station in one direction and a 10 min. walk to the old and historic part of town in the other direction. Very nice breakfast in the AM fir a reasonable price with very attentive staff. Front desk staff were always helpful. So much to see in Arezzo (medici Fortress, Archeological Museum, the Cathedral and Church of San Francesco. A good location for our day trips to towns of Cortona, Pienza and Montepulciano.

Great location and staff. The hotel is comfy and comfortable. The room we had was a double and quite basic but the bed was comfy and we had a balcony on the main street but with the double doors/pains we heard nothing. Loved the special touch of decorating areas for family photos or selfies in a winter wonderland. Walking distance to Piazza Grande and the Christmas Market.

We stayed two nights in the Michelangelo Suite, which was a beautiful room! The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. We loved the location. We walked easily to restaurants. We had a car and parked right in front, and our car was taken to an off-site lot. There is a charge, which was expected. We hope to return next year!

I travelled here in winter and found the room cosy and comfortable. The rooftop bar was closed as it was very cold and windy outside, however one of the staff opened it up for me to enjoy the view which was lovely. It's the perfect location to walk around Arezzo and get to the train station. A beautiful classic Italian hotel

Lovely picturesque family run hotel which occupies one of the higher floors of an elegant, porticoed building - from which it derives its name. We stayed ten days. On the very edge of the old city, five minutes' amble to the Piazza Grande and a few hundred yards from the railway station: ideally situated for an exploration of Tuscany by public transport. The hotel staff were charming and friendly, and always available. Sufficient breakfast. With temperatures regularly around 38-40 degrees the air conditioning was magnificent. Young Arezzo gathers in the late evening around the base of the building but we were never troubled by the distant comings and goings - high enough and shuttered enough to muffle the sound. Only eight rooms so intimate. We would recommend this hotel to anyone, and Arezzo itself is a jewel.

The staff went out of their way to assist me at every turn. At breakfast I casually enquired if they have a pastry with custard (cornetto con crema) and when I was told they didn't, I was fine with that.But they kindly went down stairs and across the road to the local pasticceria and got me one at no additional cost! That sums up their exceptional service approach! The room was also one of the most charming I have stayed in, with views across the rooftops of Arezzo. The bathroom was also uncharacteristically huge by Italian standards. I have every intention of returning to Hotel Portici the next time I'm in stunning, medieval Arezzo.

Upon arrival, Daniele greeted us with a big smile and made us feel welcomed. He answered all of our questions and personally escorted us , two couples, to our rooms. Arrezo is a beautiful Italian town in Tuscany. We arrived Friday night by car spent Saturday shopping at the antique market. We had so much fun looking at all the beautiful items that were for sale. So glad we went! On Sunday morning we drove to Cortona where Under a Tuscan Sun was filmed at least the Christmas and fountain scene.. To our surprise the beautiful Tuscan sunflowers were in full bloom on the drive between Arezzo and Cortona. A perfect weekend!

We stayed 4 nights. The staff was lovely , friendly and helpful. Arezzo has a beautiful compavt, interesting old city with MANY beautiful chirches and museums and they are all a short walk from Hotel Portici. You are also a short walk from the train station. It is as advertised meant to be an old fashioned spot and it is but the bathroom has everything modern and works perfectly. We recommend this place to anyone who is NOT looking for a spiffy modern cubic impersonal spot!

hotel portico was a very nice hotel in a great location in arezzo. the staff was very friendly. my only complaint is that because it is in such a great location the noise on the street was a little much for me. i wouldn't change the hotel based on this, i would just ask for an inside room. everything else was perfect!

Monte San Savino is a quiet, charming and beautiful old town. It’s a great place to relax. We attended our son’s wedding here. It was a short walk to the restaurant where we had a dinner reception with a three piece Italian band. Such a wonderful time!!!

Everything was great at the hotel from amenities, the breakfast and the location. But what topped it all was the professionalism and warm nature of the staff, especially Maja. She took good care of us and made the stay memorable. Will definitely visit again the next time I'm in Tuscany.

New hotel (one year old) nice rooms, modern layout would definitely recommend this hotel. The highway is within sight but no noise the hotel is not in the centre of town it's about a ten minute drive if you are driving. Instead of fighting for parking in town this is a good choice.

Wonderful stay about 10 minutes away from Arezzo. The staff was excellent and very friendly. It was a small hotel but very cozy. I absolutely would recommend this place to all who want to experience the friendlyness of Italian people. The breakfast was allright, not much to choose from but you got whats needed to get to lunch. The rooms were not new but still nice. We didn't go to Arezzo for more than two nights but the location makes it perfect for renting a bike to go on a ride in Tuscanys hills. We rented a car and went to Firenze, Rimini etc and all were about 2-3 hour drives away. This would have included Pisa but we did not go there on our trip. English was hard for the staff but we managed to understand each other and the tried so we liked the place.

We stayed here for 4 nights in October whilst visiting family in the local area. Hotel was lovely, very clean with all facilities needed. It was a quiet hotel so we had a great night's sleep. It's a family run business and staff were welcoming, friendly and very helpful. The room was spacious and we could could control the heating ourselves. Extra pillows given and an offer of a hairdryer. Breakfast was excellent with a continental buffet. There isn't a lift so luggage needs to be carried up stairs if in a room above ground floor. We loved our stay here and would come back. Thank you!

Very nice short stay on our way from Rome to Modena. Was trying to book a place from the road - about 9pm booking for everything closes. This place will accept you until 11:30 pm- they waited up for us. Very sweet family. Rooms are simple and clean- the door had a Skelton key 🤣. Felt very safe just the same. Breakfast simple and got- coffee strong. Just right for a simple short road tripping hotel.

Recommend the hotel. Staff is nice and helpful. There's a swimming pool. Rooms are clean and breakfast is ok. One thing i didnt like which is reception is empty after 11:00 p.m so if you're planning to reach the hotel late make sure you manage for keys. Some friends waited for an hour until the found someone to open the rooms for them. Plus it's almost completely dark at night at the hallways. There's access to lighting but first night was a bit confusing. Generally we liked it and the area is just beautiful

This was the first hotel we visited in our two week Tuscany vacation. Coming out of Rome and getting on the highway north, it looked like the exit should be labeled for Cortona...but it wasn't and we wasted a lot of time getting lost (our fault). Once we found the hotel, it was a gem in the hills in the vineyards. Breakfast on the patio of the little glass Liminoere building was fabulous. Loved their boxer dog roamed around saying "hi". Owner/chef is on premises and she gives cooking lessons. There is a hunting falcon "tied up" by the chapel on the property and they supposedly also take clients out to teach them how to work with falcon hunting. The outdoor pool is in the vineyard and next to the spa, with an indoor/outdoor Jacuzzi and spa rooms. The personnel were wonderful, from the waiters to the housekeepers. We did not eat dinner at their restaurant but I believe it is a one start Michelin restaurant and seemed to have quite a crowd at night. Quiet, peaceful, elegant, romantic. Once you find the place you won't want to leave. We certainly didn't but had more exploring to do in Chianti,

Absolutely fabulous stay! We came as a family of 4 with our 2 college students. The rooms were perfectly appointed, the staff went above and beyond. We mentioned that we wanted a wine tasting and they made that happen the next day (a Saturday). The food at breakfast was wonderful. Parking was easy. The pool was the greatest end to a day. Dinner at Cortona twice while we were there was fun! We will definitely be back!

Ideally situated in a genuine neighborhood just a short walk from the historical center of Arezzo. The proprietor was extremely helpful and welcoming, and the room very clean and comfortable.

THE KIND STAFF, ALTHOUGH THEY SPEAK ENGLISH WORTH IT, HELPED US WHEN WE WERE IN PROBLEM! EXCELLENT LOCATION!

Newly refurbished hotel, nothing too special but great value for money. Located in the centre of Arezzo so perfect for walking around. Parking is 5 minutes away for €15 per day, if you show them your hotel booking.

I wish there was a hotel like Casa Volpi in every Italian city. My husband and I stayed at Casa Volpi 14 years ago and enjoyed it then. We stayed again several days ago and it was just as nice as I remember. The hotel is in a beautiful old house with lots of character and a large garden around it. Ownership of the hotel has changed since our last visit but we found the new owners (a family) to be exceptionally welcoming and kind. We opted for a basic room which was very clean, comfortable and well lit. The heat was very easy to regulate, which I appreciated since I like sleeping in a cool room. Perhaps the best thing about staying at Casa Volpi is that you can just walk downstairs for dinner and enjoy a really great meal. One of the owners was our waiter and he provided outstanding service. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Overall, I highly recommend Casa Volpi for its very kind owners, comfort, and wonderful restaurant.

Casa Volpi is slap in the middle of Tuscany and provides an excellent base to visit Florence, Sienna etc. The hotel is set in its own grounds that are set out wonderfully. There are lovely walks to the rear where there are lots of fruit trees dripping in delicious ripe treats! The rooms are very minimalist in a 19C sort of way and we had a very nice one on the first floor looking out of the front and side. The chef is excellent and we had a wonderful dinner of Tuscan delights supported by a light Montepulciano wine at a very reasonable price. Wine by the glass at 2.5 euro was excellent. I had a very unusual Bean and pasta soup which was mind blowing as well as very filling. My partner also had several courses including rabbit! Other reviewers have commented on the quality of the breakfast and I thoroughly support them - first class!

Old mansion, well maintained and turned into hotel/restaurnt, overlooking a nice park. Rooms are more than adequate. We enjoyed (August 2016) a suite, with front and side windows. on cypresses, hills, etc. Just sitting in the room and looking at the dusk setting was a pictural experience to be enjoyed! Ad to this that the restaurant (outdoors on inside, if necessary) is exceptional, choice of Italian food, with some seldom found recipes, good wine list at reasonable prices. A very good choice to visit Arezzo and South East Tuscany. Just make sure that you come back early enough to benefit from the evening meal overlooking the park.

One of those happy occasions where when your usual hotel is not available and you try something else and bang! It's better than your original favourite. Casa Volpi is just wonderful. Greatest, extremely clean and spacious rooms that have a great charm to them. Then the food in the restaurant, it's simply fantastic, better than most of the restaurants in the center. Everyone raved about their food, certainly the brushcetta, pappa, salumi and the fiorentina that I had were some of the best I have ever tried. Certainly we have a new favourite in Arezzo and we will definitely be back.

Stayed here for one night on our way to Gubbio. It was a bit hard to find even with the satnav so I phoned reception and they were very helpful guiding us there. The rooms are cool, clean and comfortable with old furniture and comfortable beds. It is located in a peaceful area above the city so we had a great nights sleep. The food at the little outside dining area was really good . I had pasta to start and then a veal steak on the bone with celery cooked in a tomato sauce. We would definitely stay there again.

Lovely hotel in a super part of Italy. Room were comfortable and very clean. Hotel pool was gorgeous - warm with plenty of loungers and a pool meal/drink service at lunchtime. The restaurant for the evening is separately run with a small but varied menu - plus an extensive wine list! - and is priced around the same as the local restaurants in Cortona (about 5 mins drive away). Hotel staff spoke excellent English and could not have been more helpful. Not the largest of hotels, but if you like to go out and about in the evenings, it's perfect. Note that some of the rooms are in different buildings, so if you go in a group and want rooms together, state this at the time of booking. It's perfectly situated for exploring Florence, Siena, even Pisa, with Arezzo (20 mins) providing excellent shopping. The whole area is filled with fabulous sights, history, and lovely Tuscan countryside.

Easy to communicate with. Staff that was really easygoing and helpful. Clean and with a huge bathroom. We stayed a couple of hour by the pool after checking out, which was a good relief for us that arrived late the day before. Big pool and a quiet area. Overall a top place for us that was driving a cross Italy.

We decided to book this hotel as we wanted to schedule in a "relaxation" day during our two week holiday in Italy and it was near Cortona which we planned to visit. Old brick buildings located in Beautiful landscaped gardens. The pool was great but our afternoon was not very relaxing as 2-3 screaming children had taken over the pool. Needless to say our afternoon of peace and quiet and tranquility was interrupted. The rest of the clientele were elderly/mature couples and while this can happen anywhere, we this would be an adult escape when paying $200/night. Just not something the average family travelling in Italy with little kids would not choose to stay at. We decided to have dinner at the restaurant which looked like it had potential and the waiters did there best but they looked totally disorganized that evening...almost like they weren't expecting that many people. Dinner was a little disappointing in my opinion but I'm a little bit of a foodie so others may think differently. Breakfast was good with decent to good selection to get your day started. Overall, a great stay for what we wanted/expected. Service at hotel was really good.

We loved this hotel, and were only sorry we had just one night there. The grounds are superb and make you feel as if you are living in a very nice estate just outside town, in a self-contained park that was very relaxing, and in a room that was antique yet modern, and super comfortable. The town of Cortona is a short drive (or a LONG uphill hike) and a perfect introduction to Tuscany. We arrived on a warm sunny afternoon and had enough time to use the lovely pool to relax after a long drive from Napoli, and before heading to Cortona to explore the town for some touring and an alfesco drink before returning for a very memorable dinner on the hotel's terrace. My one son who had to return to Hong Kong the day before saw our pictures and was terribly disappointed to have missed this stay. This may be a bit far afield for a base to visit all of Tuscany, but it is a perfect venue for that area of Italy, and a great place to start our Tuscan tour. Would return in a minute!

We had a lovely stay at this small, boutique hotel, right in the middle of the town and ten minutes' walk from the station. The reception was so welcoming, and our rooms were delightful, with fresh fruit provided as well as a laptop (though it didn't seem to allow me access to the whole of the internet!). All the rooms are decorated differently and they are very comfortable, with excellent bathrooms, splendid toiletries and good beds (though the pillows are a bit hard). The breakfast was fine, though there was no hot food apart from some boiled eggs on our second morning. And as is usually the case in Italy, for this inveterate English tea drinker, the provision of a pot of hot water did not quite meet my need for several cuppas! The staff were lovely, really helpful and friendly, and I would most certainly stay there again if/when I return to Arezzo.

Centrally located with 5-15 minute walk to most major attractions. Shopping and many restaurants nearby. Main square a five minute walk. Rooms are decorated in funky colours- if you don’t like bright and vibrant pick a different spot. We got upgraded to junior suite and it was great - comfortable bed, separate sitting area, modern bathroom. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful.

We were in Arezzo for the antique fair. This hotel is in a perfect location—right in the middle of the fair and in the middle of a wonderful old city. Our room was clean and comfortable. The people at the desk were helpful and pleasant. The breakfast was fabulous. We hope to stay there again!

We stayed at the Graziella Patio Hotel in Arezzo while visiting our Son in his study abroad program. This is a really nice hotel in the perfect center of Arezzo, so great location. The staff was very professional and very friendly and helpful. Made our trip it Italy just great. Great Hotel!!!

Would recommend to anyone. Not easy to find but the woman at the hotel guided us by phone! Arezzo is a nice old city but 2 days was enough as we are not shoppers...

Il Monte hotel in San Savino exceeded our expectations during our short stay. Its central location made exploring the town a breeze, and being just a 20-minute drive from Arezzo was incredibly convenient for our travel plans. The availability of coffee in the room was a notable plus point, something we found surprisingly lacking in even some five-star hotels. It is about 2.5 kilometres away from the Cortona itself, however, extremely close to Camucia train station if you arrive by train. We used to take a bus up to the hill to Cortona and then get back to hotel by foot which was really nice walk during the nights. At our triple room we had a spacious balcony, overlooking the nature of Tuscany - a really nice touch. The room and bathroom - nice and clean. In general, it is twice cheaper than the cheapest hotel in Cortona - if you are not afraid for a walk, it is a really nice deal.

Everything was full in Cortona, so we booked last-minute. Luckily, this hotel received us late in the evening. Check-in was smooth and the rooms were clean. Next to that, the lady was very helpful. We made some mistakes with the booking, but that was no problem for her. Great experience!

The manager was so lovely to me. I always worry because I don't speak good Italian but she was very kind and hospitable. She was also kind about the card I provided not working. The room had a AC and all expected amenities.

The owner is wonderful. The beds were comfortable. The hotel was cute. The town Camucia was awesome and only a mile from Cortona.

A lovely, friendly welcome by the host. The room and bathroom were great sizes with a nice view in a very good location. An easy to use code was given to gain access whenever you needed to, including through the night. Very homely stay and will return in the future.

Our room was really nice and spacious, with gowns, slippers, tea and coffee making facilities and a complimentary bottle of Rose wine. Staff organised for us to hire a Vespa for the day and we had a great day visiting nearby towns. This was very well-organised and went smoothly. Good quality food available in the restaurant - the meat and cheese board was a favourite of ours. Staff were really friendly, especially the older staff. So glad we got to experience this place!

This is a hidden gem of excellence in every way possible. The farmhouse and grounds have been lovingly renovated using only the best materials. The grounds are like an English country house, the swimming pool is a good size with lots of comfortable loungers, Alberto and his staff couldn't do enough for us, the adjoining restaurant was top class. The presentation of the little extras, like the towels were beautifully tied up with organza bows, there were even slippers in the bathroom. Alberto and his team had thought of everything. Everything in the restaurant had been produced on the farm which has been in Abertos family for 140 years. Sadly we were only here for 1 night. Its an absolute must to visit this beautifully place if you are lucky enough to reserve a room..

The staff, especially Alberto the manager were delightful. Alberto was the perfect host and showed a real passion for his job. He assisted with transporting us to Arezzo car hire to return the hire car as well as dropping us to the train station. The shuttle service incurred a fee but it was well worth it. The facilities were lovely, the pool for the guests and the restaurant on site. This was so helpful as we were in a small town outside of Arezzo and had no car. The restaurant provided high quality food and the staff were friendly and efficient, even apologising for not having great English.

Such a beautiful property! Alberto has created an oasis of culinary delight in the middle of working farms and the small town Rigutino. The focus on wine and perfectly original menus keeps you staying for dinner every night. The spacious rooms, with 14 foot ceilings, large desk, antique decorations and comfortable bed made it feel like home. The custom made to order breakfast got us up and out early each morning. Minutes from Many historical places, like Cortona, makes Il Cipresso the perfect homebase for a longer stay. Oh yeah, great pool. Book it.

The staff was exceptionally kind. We felt very welcome with our baby. Beautiful location and spacious room. Excellent lunch and dinner at the restaurant, with ingredients and wine from the fattoria. The restaurant is closed on Tuesdays but they provide you with recommendations for other restaurants. Breakfast had a selection of homemade cakes, bread, dairy and eggs. The garden and pool are beautifully tended to. Thank you to the whole team, and particularly Cristina for your kind words ! We had a wonderful time 🙏🏻

We were graciously greeted and given a thorough tour with all the details about the room, lock and key, breakfast, etc. My husband is reasonably fluent in Italian, and I understand much more than I can speak, but throughout, I was so happy that the hosts did all they could to guarantee I felt included in the conversation. I found them so easy to understand! The room was supremely comfortable for the facilities, with everything thought through for the guests' comfort. There are outlets conveniently placed on each side of the bed, along with the switches for lights on each side (it is so rare for both people to get this on their side of the bed!). The bed was extremely comfortable!! The in-room coffee machine and fresh water were very appreciated. The breakfast was a wonderful spread of breads, cakes, and fresh yogurts. There was so much on offer, and it was so inviting. The room to enjoy the breakfast is lovely, and the terrace that extends outside the breakfast room (which we would have sat on if the weather had been just a bit warmer) adds such beauty to the space. We were sad that on our 2-night stay, we had to leave early on the 2nd morning and only got to experience breakfast once. We will return here if lucky enough to revisit Arezzo.

Please do yourself a favor and book a stay in this B&B, because it is for sure the best place Arezzo has to offer. Both hosts were extremely friendly and gave us useful advice as for what to see around the city and which restaurants to visit. Room was tidy and ''schick'' with all amenities necessary, bed super comfortable, WiFi strong, bathroom minimalistic and clean, with simple electronic chip evtl. code system to open the front door independently. And breakfast... do not even get me started on breakfast! Home made gluten free cakes, so many different types of milk and müsli you cannot even find in a shop! Fruit from the garden, everything fresh and vegetarian-based, lactose free yoghurt and milk, eggs tomatoes tasty cheese etc. In short: this accomodation had everything one can possibly need, on top of which comes a spacious terrace with a free jacuzzi! We would love to stay again when in Arezzo and hopefully you will, too Samuel & Phuong

We did a last minute booking here as we didnt plan on visiting the area initially but we are SO glad we did. The wonderful Ferdinand literally ran from lunch to greet us on arrival and show us where to store our luggage until the room was ready. He was a fantastic host, so helpful and welcoming - it felt like we were staying with a friend! The room was clean, modern and well equipped with everything you would need for your stay (and had a great shower!) and the location was just a few minutes walk to the centre. The area felt safe and was very quiet for a central location! We will absolutely be visiting again and will not hesitate to stay here again!

Valentin and Ferdinando are hosts with much Passion and love for what they are doing. Their B&B felt like a home away from home and a little oasis in the city. The room was spacious and facing the back yard with the beautiful calm and green terrace. Furthermore the breakfast is made with so much love and detail, they have gluten free and vegan options and even home made yoghurt, porridge and cakes, I can only write YUM. Thank you so much for your hospitality and kindness.

Great location, 5 minutes walk from the station. It’s also near a grocery store and lots of restaurants. The two owners are the most kind, helpful and friendly people! It’s a very clean B&B, the beds are super comfy and there’s a beautiful terrace to eat breakfast / relax on. The breakfast spread is plentiful & they even make their own yoghurt! The coffee they make at breakfast is delicious. Honestly I wouldn’t stay anywhere else but here! Thanks again for a wonderful stay!

The location is absolutely perfect – just a few minutes’ walk to the town center, with everything you need right nearby. There’s convenient parking right next to the property, and a bus stop literally steps away with routes in both directions. The train station is also very close, which made getting around super easy. There are plenty of trattorias and restaurants nearby – you’re spoiled for choice! (There’s even a McDonald’s by the station, but come on… you’re in Italy – go for the local food!) Walter, the host, really goes the extra mile. There’s complimentary water, coffee, and even seasonal fruits available at the main entrance. All the rooms are on the first floor, and ours was spotless and well-equipped with air conditioning, towels, toiletries, an iron, a sewing kit, and a good-sized TV. Breakfast was a lovely surprise – fresh coffee and a classic cornetto to start the day, plus a platter with local meats, lardo, and even a mini pizza topped with homegrown cherry tomatoes and basil. Everything was prepared with care. Walter is incredibly polite, helpful, and detail-oriented – he even provides an umbrella in each room! We weren’t prepared for a light rain shower, but thankfully, he had us covered – literally! It's small touches like this that really make a difference. Overall, a fantastic stay!

Our host (Mr. Mirko) was simply the best! He is extremely attentive, showed us every detail about the location. The facilities are 5 minutes (walking) from the train station and the room was just perfect. Very spacious bathroom and to the amazement of my girlfriend, even had a hair iron (in addition to the hair drier). The place is very clean and well thought out. We left very early so we did not experience the breakfast. We left at around 6am and Mr. Mirko was there, waiting to bid farewell and even volunteered to take us in his car... something very few hosts would do. Mr. Mirko's dedication and attention to detail is admirable. Thank you Mr. Mirko!

We were passing through Arezzo, so location didn't matter, casa is situated in smaller and quiet street and has it's own outside parking (for free). Room is big even for 3, very clean, air conditioned, with full electric blinds (important to someone who likes sleep in dark). Beds are really comfortable. Bathroom is also big, with 2 sinks, good shower cabin. There is also space for luggage and clothes. Outside of the room in the hall you can sit, there is drinking water, fridge, sink. Breakfast is served in the garden, prepared by owner, and was delicious, with fresh and homemade products. Owner is helpful, we had a good time in our short stay.

This B&B has been designed with comfort in mind. We stayed on two separate occasions so had the opportunity to stay in different rooms. Both rooms were furnished beautifully and the bathrooms were spacious and set out well. The beds and pillows were so comfortable and the best we had on our entire Italian holiday. The breakfast was delicious and very filling. Walter takes the time to talk to his guests and you can see the pride he has in his B&B, which is definitely justified. Walter also drove my Hubby to where we were meant to collect our hire car & helped us to resolve our problem when this company let us down.

If you want a locally sourced, authentic Tuscan breakfast - this is the place. The host was very friendly, attentive, and available whenever we needed him. Breakfast was INCREDIBLE and worth the trip out to Arezzo alone. The host prepared a huge spread that included meats, cheeses, and oil that were grown and prepared on farms <20 km from the hotel, some of it made by the host himself. He served us breakfast personally, telling us what each ingredient was and where it came from.

This is a lovely B&B and deserves its high ranking. You are made to feel very welcome and it does feel you are staying in a friend's house. The location is brilliant for exploring the wonderful city of Arezzo. The city is a gem and full of beautiful art-your hostess is very knowledgeable and can advise on what to see. There are great things to see with far fewer tourists that in many other cities in the Region. Don't miss this one! It's full of good food and good wine -take the advice from the host as to where to eat. It's also a great place to stroll. We spent a sunny afternoon in the park behind the cathedral reading our books and enjoying watching everyone going about their lives. There was a very good cafe there. It felt a bit like a moment from Perfect Day song. We dropped in for coffee, pastries and a large glass of wine at Le Golosita-so welcoming and tasty. You can visit local villages on the bus as well. We went to the home city of Piero della Francesca as some of his best work in the civic museum there as well as the church of St Francis in Arezzo. We had a wonderful time here and could have stayed longer that our four nights.

The location is outstanding, only 150 metres from the Duomo and 250 from the Piazza Grande and San Francisco. Everything is within easy reach. The room was a perfect size, immaculate, delightfully quiet and cool despite the near 40C heat outside. The breakfast, ordered to taste, was heroic in scale and delicious. Sara the host is cheerful, hugely enthusiastic and most helpful with local information. Strongly recommended for a couple wishing to see the lovely small city of Arezzo. Long stay car parking is available 7 minutes walk away at Via Giuseppe Pitri (E5/day) using the public escalators to avoid the climb and a handy short cut through the Duomo cloisters. If you send Sara your vehicle number she arranges permission to bring your car into the restricted area and to the door to drop and collect cases.

We enjoyed a wonderful week at de’Montetini which is located in the heart of historical Arezzo and convenient to everything. Our deluxe room was spacious, comfortable and extremely pretty. A generous breakfast of savoury and/or sweet food was served in the cosy breakfast room was a great way to start each day. Sara, our amazing host, was a delight and made us feel so welcome. She also provided lots of information and helpful hints. As there are only 3 bedrooms, de’Montetini has an intimate atmosphere and became our ‘home away from home’. We were sad to leave.

Everything! The host, Sara, welcomed me and made sure I was Comfortable. My room was very clean, quaint, and very comfortable. She made a generous, fresh breakfast with great caffè each day. Sara has full knowledge of the history of Arezzo and her love for the town shows. She is helpful in planning what to see. Her knowledge of art makes the visits to the great masterpieces there a true enlightening experience. Follow her recommendations for restaurants. She willead you to fantastic local places with food that .ages you hum while you eat. I will definitely stay here again.

In a charming B&B in the centre of historic Arezzo, it was the owner’s warm demeanour that made us feel instantly at home. With her professional knowledge of art and architectural history, Sara took the trouble to point out Arezzo’s top cultural sites, and offered to make us dinner reservations at her recommended restaurants. The next morning, we woke up to a lovingly prepared breakfast of cakes, breads, cereal, cut fruit, yogurt and marmalades. Over the best cappuccino in Tuscany, we thanked the kind owner for an incredibly warm welcome to a surprisingly lovely city.

It's a beautifully renovated period property with beams in the ceiling and very beautiful arch windows. The place was just a few meters from the grand square but still very quiet. This apartment had an exclusive use of a nice roof terrace with amazing views over the old town. Very easy checkin process and probably the best accommodation we have stayed ever (and we have stayed in a lot of places and experienced travellers). We wish we could have stayed more nights here and wish other accommodations were of this standard. Well done!

We had a fantastic short stay at ‘La Torre di Burgunto’. Our flat was very elegant, spacious and comfortable: a stunning refurbished apartment in a historic building very close to ‘piazza Grande’, the most beautiful square of Arezzo. What makes this flat unique is its modern style combined with authentic and antiques architectural elements. Very clean and welcoming, excellent value for money. Totally recommended.

The location is so close to everything. Just off the Piazza Grande. The rooftop terrace is an amazing bonus, especially at sunset. Diletta was so communicative and helpful. She gave us suggestions for restaurants that were fantastic. The parking garage they have an agreement with is close and at 10 euros a day it was very reasonable and the attendant was super friendly.

The most beautiful apartment we have ever stayed in, in a perfect location. The terrace is beyond words, you have to see it and experience it there. The entrance to the accommodation is directly opposite Guido's shop from the film "Life is beautiful". Communication with the owner is quick and extremely informative. I can only recommend this great apartment to everyone.

The apartment was in an historic building, beautiful decor, comfortable bed, and the living space was a good size, but we spent most of the time on the amazing rooftop terrace, being surrounded by the old town with views over Arezzo was a highlight! The location was just a 1minute walk from the main square, but it was quiet.

The restaurant is also fantastic, good food, very good staff. It's on the outskirts of Arezzo, so you can easily walk into town, but it feels like you're in the middle of the wilderness - no city in sight. I would definitely recommend this to everyone! Be sure to check out the public park, just besides the driveway, it's hidden behind the trees!

The room (Alice) was beautiful - spacious, comfortable, very tasteful. Loved the big bed, the comfy sofas, the high open-beam ceilings, and the vintage plumbing in the en-suite bathroom. The restaurant provided a beautiful buffet-style breakfast and a wonderful dinner, served by lovely, helpful staff. We didn’t get to use the swimming pool (because of the weather), but it looked lovely too. The surroundings of the accommodation - big mature trees, a profusion of beautiful roses, fountains, enhanced the feel of a very special place.

It is a very beautiful place to stay on the outskirts of Arezzo, which is also unexpectedly beautiful. Exceptionally designed rooms that combine tradition and modern comfort. A fine restaurant for breakfast and dinner and a pool and garden with many comfy places to spend the day.

It’s a wonderful place if you enjoy country-style accommodation. We stayed as two families for six nights in a spacious apartment equipped with everything you might need. The rooms were large, clean, and offered beautiful views. We also had a huge terrace, perfect for late-night conversations. The property has convenient laundry facilities and free parking, which made our stay even easier. The owner was very friendly, always available to help, and even gave us great tips on what to visit in the area. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we would happily return.

First of all the host Alessio is the best that can be!!! So friendly and informative. Easy contact through WhatsApp, self-check in. Beautiful surrounding (and views), peaceful stay, private, clean facilities, authentic experience. The room was quite spacious. Beautiful bathroom and amenities. Terrace was very clean and comfortable and really relaxing and beautiful. Beautiful and tranquil grounds We really enjoyed our stay at this place and probably would visit again. It's just perfect amazing! Top level!

There was on-site parking and it was close to Arezzo (by car). Everything in the apartment was well thought out and it had what we needed. The host was very responsive to any questions and it was easy to self check in and out. There was also a nice outdoor area and our pet was welcome 💕

Stayed here while going to school at the Univeristy of Alberta. Lovely couple. Place is amazing. The hosts were so helpful and gave lots of helpful local tips. Really a wonderful stay and will definitely be back. Bedrooms were amazing. Beds were so comfy and its only a 2 min walk to downtown and 2 mins to the university. They even had a cute cot for my youngest complete with adorable bedding of Winnie the Pooh. The shower was fantastic and the heates towel rack was a game changer. My 2 boys and grandmother loved this place so much. There is also a soccer pitch within 5 mins and several amazing restaurants 2 blocks away.

Absolutely charming, amazing little room with a beautiful view, quiet, well-equipped and cosy. The only thing missing would be a fireplace! It's maybe 5 minutes on foot to the piazza in the centre. The bed was super comfy, and all the amenities are there, even a small Dolce Gusto coffee machine. Very warm as well in the winter, the heating was great! Tall people might have a bit of a problem in the attic room, but - duck! :) The host was there to give us the keys and communicated well through WhatsApp and even granted us a late check-out because of our train. Strongly recommended!

The flat was lovely, with tuscan style furniture and generous space in the bedroom. The host Francesca was so welcoming and gave us loads of recommendations for what to do in Cortona and where to eat which were very helpful. The flat is in a great location close to the bus terminal to Cortona and 2 minutes walk from the main square. I would stay again, it was the perfect accommodation in Cortona!

Cortona is romantic, to stay in this apartment in the heart of the old town makes it even better. I love how the room is furnished, feels like home. Host is very friendly, kind and responsive. Just a very short walk up the hill to the main square with shopping and restaurants, and easily accessible by bus (or taxi if you can find one), from the train station.

As the name well says this is a small charming place to stay in the great city of Arezzo. The building is from the 1400s and used to be a convent. The stone stairs let you know how old it is. There is no elevator, but they are happy to assist with the luggage. The rooms are comfortable (bed included) and everything works. Ours had a charming little varanda. The breakfast is better than expected for such a little place, with a variety of breads, fruits, cheese, cold cuts served at your table. The coffee, decaf if you rather, is also really good. The location is awesome with everything at walking distance, with interesting points to the left or right, as well as a variety of places to eat. As we proceeded in our tour in Toscana, we realized the cost benefit of this place is amazing. Strongly recommended.

It was very clean, nice crisp white sheets. The staff were all very friendly and extra accommodating, from finding us an iron, serving breakfast, holding our luggage and getting us the ZTL pass. Breakfast was plentiful and served downstairs. We had a room only up one set of steps, so that was extra nice. The building was very interesting with some before the renovation photos which showed how sad it was, but now it seems brought back to life! The a/c was a lifesaver during our stay and it worked perfectly.

Il Piccolo Cavour is a lovely B&B that has been charmingly restored. The delightfully helpful Elisa has restored this great find that is conveniently located in the historic center of Arezzo. The rooms are light and airy with gorgeous frescoes that spark curiosity about the history. Luckily, Elisa has photos and wonderful descriptions of the restoration process. The bathroom has all you need in a modern inn. She also offers wonderful recommendations for dining and touring in the lovely Arezzo. This might be "piccolo", yet it's a superb find!

We've just returned from a perfect stay in Arezzo. This B&B really is stunning - the rooms are decorated so beautifully, with a great selection if toiletries in each room. Staff here are friendly and helpful, we had such a warm welcome and help was always there if needed. Breakfast was lovely too! Plus it's in the most perfect spot for exploring Arezzo centre! I wish we could've stayed longer, such a gorgeous B&B! We will definitely book again if we find ourselves in Arezzo!

When we arrived with our car, the owner immediately made a parking place for us and helped us with our luggage. She offered to drive with us to the parking place oustside town and walk back to the B&B. Great service! The house is beautiful with old en modern design in a perfect match. I had a wonderful time staying at BibiArezzo last weekend. The room is very clean and artistic. The room has everything I needed from towels, tea, snacks and bottled water. The owner Fabio is super friendly and helpful. He gave me a map and shared his experience living in Arezzo. The location is great too. Something happened when I was going to check out on Sunday morning. My suitcase accidentally fell down from the stairs and I broke Fabio’s fancy side table and vase near the stair… I was terribly sorry and offered to compensate for the cost. Knowing this, Fabio was still very nice and insist not to charge anything from me. Arezzo is a very nice town especially when it has its monthly vintage market (first weekend of every month). What makes my memory in Arezzo even fonder, it’s the friendly and caring people there. Fabio is absolutely one of those who made my Italy trip.

Location was very important to me. Close to old town walls (Porta San Andrea) when you have to park outside walls because inside ZTL (traffic zone limited to residents only). At the same time it is about 6-8 minutes to Plazza Grande. Very helpfull host. Plenty great recommendation and help to find parking spot. Very clean property. Window overlooking small local street. Access to the roof sitting area which may be appreciated more in summer, we were in colder part of a year and didn't use it for longer than a few minutes. If you travel thru Tuscany, one day for Arezzo is enough.

The owner was very nice, helpful and friendly. He met us before old city in order to help us find the correct address. Location was wonderful, you will be in historical center and it is impossible to find appartment more in center than this one. Appartment was not big, but very and very nice. All details are considered, we had everything what we need inside, including tea, coffee, chocolate, biscotti, jam etc.The owner pays big attention to make the holidays of guests more comfortable. All rooms are stylized in different styles according to its names and look very nice. I can strongly recommend this accommodation.

The most amazing room we had in Tuscany was at Fabio's place. We spent one night there, and he gave us a warm welcome with lots of nice surprises. The room was fully equipped, and he paid attention to the smallest details in his place. We had a wonderful night. Words cannot describe how great he and his place were. The host is the best - very helpful and caring. There is a great terrace on the roof to sit and chill. Rooms are small but cozy, clean and have coffee machine (nespresso style). Localization is few minutes from the city heart. There is a city parking in the near (Parking Sant' Agostino or u can park at the via rodi). When coming by car and using GoogleMaps watch out to not get into old town (it's closed for traffic except for weekends but google was trying to get us through it).

My husband and I spent two weeks in one of the lovely apartments. He came for work and I came to keep him company. The apartment, a 2 bedroom 1 bath, was roomy and comfortable. The AC and the heat both worked well. All of the apartments have their own outdoor area for alfresco dining. The grounds are grassy and inviting with bbqs, and the pool area is gated with our own designated loungers. The location was perfect for us! My husband had a car for his work nearby. There is ample onsite parking. A grocery store is less than a mile away. It’s a short drive into Cortona. We drove to Cortona most evenings to walk around, shop, etc. We loved Cortona, and our stay at Monestero San Silvestro. We would definitely stay again! We even made some new friends!!

We have just come back from 9 days here and had a wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable time. The accommodation is beautifully rustic but with essential mod cons like air conditioning - much needed in the August heat! Donato was wonderfully helpful when we needed him, but left us to our own devices unless we needed him - it was a perfect balance for us. The kitchen area was compact, but had most things we needed - most importantly a big fridge and freezer to keep drinks and ice cream in! We cooked a few times and ate out in the lovely gardens, but also went out for dinner quite a bit as everything was so accessible (by car). The swimming pool was lovely, well maintained but using minimal chemicals which was lovely. We would definitely recommend this if you like a bit of authentic Italy, a beautiful building in a great location with a lots of relaxing and exploring opportunites.

This place is a gem on earth! The old world feel and very prestine trimmed grounds... the location is secluded away from the hustle of the village. It is tucked away, yet very close to a everything, to include a supermarket. We spent 7 nights here, we enjoyed the beautiful pool, played ping pong and just relaxed. This is a place where you can relax indoors with stunning views from the living room or outdoors in such gorgeous gardens. Its a retreat!!!! The kitchen was very well equipped. The entire apt was spacious and we just looved the coziness within the such an old but highly updated building. Excellent AC!! Valeria and Amata were great hostessess, very friendly and communicative. You have great parking on the property. This place is worth every penny. You will not go wrong. Book it now.

We chose this agroturismo hotel off the very touristy path to enjoy a bit of tranquility and found our expectations more than met! The premises are wonderfully kept and your eyes can rest and still will wander and detect yet another interesting detail. The warm salt water pool was much appreciated especially by our little daughter who lost all her fear and became a brave diver. We enjoyed a large family Appartement with 2 bedrooms and living room kitchen. There are plenty of interesting locations close by both in Tuscany and Umbria to allow for very comfortable day trips even with a young child. Our stay was unfortunately much too short and we would certainly like to come back to the area and monastero San Silvestro!

There was plenty of room for the kids to play and the pool was great. The available laundry was great, with plenty of room to lay out clothes to dry. The most, Amata, went above and beyond her duties by answering all of our questions promptly and arranging a dinner onsite for 8 of us in their large dining area!

The rooms are spacious enough and comfortable and the shared living room/terrace is so beautiful. I highly recommend getting the breakfast included! It was very generous and incredibly delicious. It is obvious the care the hosts take to provide the pretty and useful details to this place. The BnB is located right in the centre of town, less than five minutes from the main square and the Basilica, and about 12 minute walk to the Arezzo train station. The town is a beautiful hidden gem. 10/10 recommend this place to stay. We had an amazing time.

Impareggiabile il balconcino che si affaccia sulla città, dove alla mattina puoi gustare una colazione più che soddisfacente, per noi italici. Massima gentilezza e disponibilità dell'host, nel riceverci e accompagnarci al ceck in e poi al parcheggio più comodo (300 mt dalla location, facilitato da una scala mobile a più rampe che ti porta davanti al Duomo e da lì son 100mt. Veramente da tornarci per pulizia e cortesia ricevuta.

We stayed here for one night during our week and a half Italian cruise. Staying here was definitely one of the best decisions of our trip. The apartment is very cozy and homely, the terrace is especially beautiful. We were very happy with the option of breakfast, where you could choose from many things. Special thanks to Gianfranco for the warm welcome, for being able to book at the last minute, for coming to us and helping us with a lot of advice. Definitely the best host in the entire city!

Disclaimer, property sits on top a very very steep hill that you must climb! Other than that, excellent!! Service was great, very clean and modern appliances, very beautiful views with sitting area on balcony. Provides extra pillows!! Breakfast for cheap was very good. Feels secluded and safe with things to do nearby. Host was friendly and very nice! A great hidden gem in Arezzo, highly recommend!!

The B&B was in a very central location. Though the room was on teh 1st floor, there was a lift. They had the option of a paid breakfast (which was good value for money). The room was sizeable and comfortable and the view was good. The staff was friendly.

The property is nice, with beautifull swimming pool. We booked apartment for 5 and it was spacious and clean. The stuff is nice and friendly and everything was great. Also, within the property is small airfield with local aero club which is just perfect for aviation enthusisast and you can take a panoramic flight just after you wake up and have breakfast in your room and see tuscany from air :)

We are a family of 5 who enjoyed the stay at Residence Serristori very much. There was plenty of space in the apartment, a beautiful large and clean pool - and a lovely restaurant with local dishes. There was neither far to shopping nor to towns with the real Tuscan atmosphere. Special thanks to Nadia, who provides fantastic service and jumps in if there is the slightest thing.

This place was great! A bit outside the town center (approx. 15min walk via shortcut), but with the benefit of having a great, spacious and gated parking area for those who need it. In addition, a 10% discount at the nearby cafe/bar (Menchetti) is highly recommended for an aperitivo/pizza taglio/breakfast if you want to remain in the (very quiet) neighborhood. Quick and easy access to and from the Autostrada as well, though far enough that you can't see or hear it. Clean and spacious rooms with couches and small kitchens included. Great landscaping and a nice garden surrounds the stylish white building. Your own mini-apartment. Definitely recommended and a good value!

This apartment was wonderful, as was Paola, the owner of the property. THe apartment looks exactly as advertised, and has a totally remodeled look. The kitchen was fully equipped for our cooking, and coffee, tea and condiments wer provided. Both bedrooms were good size and each had sufficient storage space. THe bathroom was large enough with an incredible shower (gentle rain-beautiful!). Unlike some of the other apartments we have stayed in over the years, we had plenty of linens for our stay of about 3 weeks. In facr, when we had used some of our towels, a whole new supply was delivered. While we never met Paola in person, she frequently checked in with us to be sure everything was ok and we were not in need of anything. WHen we notified her that we did not have a drying rack, a brand new one was delivered with apologies. This is a wonderful apartment from which to navigate day trips throughout areas of Tuscany. I would highly recommend it and would definitely rebook this apartment if we return to Tuscany in the future.

This apartment has everything you would possibly need. Well positioned for walking around the historic centre of Arezzo and a 20-25 minute walk from the train station. It is extremely well appointed. The bathroom is exceptional, lovely kitchen with dishwasher, fridge freezer, has hob and oven, microwave, kettle, coffee machine...not forgetting the washing machine, the list goes on. Living room and bedrooms are extremely comfortable. A great deal of thought and care has been given to this apartment by the owner. We also very much appreciated the extended check out time given to us. Highly recommended.

A gorgeous apartment that has everything you need and more. It has little details like guides to Arezzo, additional to beautiful design, that show there's a bit of care for the guests present. Easy to check in and out without the host needing to come, and very close to the city center and a free parking 5min walking. We really loved our stay here, highly recommended.

Everything about the apartment is top notch. From the first moment of walking into the place we felt at home. Everything is there for you, tea, coffee oils etc. even disposable gloves. It is spotlessly clean. Mariapaola is a great hostess and very communicative. If we could give this apartment an 11 we would. Well done - we will return!

Everything! This is na elegantly furnished & spacious flat with, a well- equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and nice living room.. Good location - a walking distance to the Old Town and the Arezzo Railway and Bus Station. Matiapaola gave us good tips note only about eating options in Arezzo but also in Cortona and Alighieri.

Paola maintains a magnificent treasure inside the walls of Cortona. The rooms, both our room and common rooms, were exceptionally well-appointed with furnishings and comforts appropriate for a building over 500 years old. Her breakfast was fresh, made to order, and wonderfully scrumptious. But the highlight was dinner, which she insisted we enjoy with her. It was terrific, flavorful and truly distinctive among the many restaurants available in Cortona (or anywhere in Italy). She is wonderfully welcoming and we fell in love with the property and her and stayed an additional night for the sheer joy of doing so.

Beautifully appointed room with period furniture and modern bathroom There was a spiral staircase to the rooftop which offered a spectacular panoramic view of Camucia and the surrounding countryside. The family run restaurant prepared a delicious breakfast with homemade jams , bread, cakes and local meats. The hosts were very welcoming and generous. We had a reservation at a nearby restaurant, but on our next visit we would definitely choose the family restaurant as our first stop .

The location is just perfect. One of the best experiences I ever had. The hotel is simple, more like a B&B. The owner, Paola, is just a wonderful person, making you feel like you are at home. The breakfast have some of here own home made bread and cakes. The building, like the whole town, has its own history, built over 600 years ago...

The breakfast and dinner (which we ate with them every evening )was outstanding! Paula is an esquite chef !! everything about our stay was one of the best I’ve ever experienced and I have traveled all over the world. Paula and her team paid attention to every detail 😊they are wonderful!! I am planning to return.

Paula works hard to make everyone's stay as comfortable as possible and her hospitality is like no other. The food was the best we've eaten in Tuscany for a great price, our room was beautiful and hotel cats were a bonus point. We would love to come back, thank you Paula!!

Our stay was a really positive experience from start to finish. The location is fantastic — close to everything we needed, yet quiet enough for a relaxing visit. One of the highlights was how welcoming and helpful the host was. We arrived a bit earlier than expected and were able to check in around 1 p.m. without any issues, which we really appreciated. The accommodation itself was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. You can tell the hosts genuinely care about their guests' comfort. The space is beautifully renovated-super modern, yet with thoughtful touches that preserve its historical charm. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this place to others!

We had a very positive experience from start to finish. The gentleman who met us explained the parking well and got us settled in. The place is SO comfortable and quiet. The breakfast is fantastic. We loved everything about it. My room had a small dining table and lots and lots of room. My friend's room didn't have a table. There is an enormous room that has a living room area and a dining area. Truly a wonderful experience. Would go again!

What a fabulous stay. Great walkable location. Arezzo is lovely. Small family run B and B, three units, each appointed in a similar style but each with its own charm. Older building but thoughtful rehab with modern bathroom fixtures and comfortable beds. Super clean. Best of all was the very warm welcome not only for us but our gentle giant dog. Simple, continental style breakfast was delicious and high quality. Highly recommended!

A beautiful historical building in the centre of Arezzo. A spacious room and a lovely breakfast. Yuri the host is extremely helpful. He pointed us to the parking, just 50 meters from the B&B. He recommended a great restaurant, which we went to and absolutely loved. Yuri also allowed us to store our bags at the property until we departed Arezzo in the afternoon.

Breakfast was great - we had great choices served in a common room or in our room. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Yuri helped carry our luggage up (one flight - no elevator) and allowed us to store luggage on check out day while we toured the charming city. Ambiance was wonderful. This is a charming place with even more charming staff.

Breakfast was served room service style to each individual room to be eaten.on the balcony. Definitely.one of the best breakfasts of the trip - freshly made ham and cheese toasties with delicious cake and croissants!

Before arrival La Terrazza provided me with information relevant to a successful stay in Arezzo, it included recommended restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies, things to do, transportation, emergency numbers, etc. The B&B is tastefully decorated, close to the train station, restaurants, museums and shops. The room was clean and comfortable. I was able to take a warm shower after a full day of sightseeing. The AC worked well and the breakfast was delicious and custom made, I don't have special dietary needs but they asked if I did in case they needed to make accommodations.

The property is perfect. I really like Paola and her colleague, they were very helpful and nice with me. The room was big with private bathroom, nice view from the window and i could say that it is first property in my life where the bed and bedsheets isso comfortable . DormiVeglia B&B is a marvelous family-owned bed & breakfast hostel. The accommodation is in a beautiful traditional Tuscan building in a quiet location converted into a friendly guest house with contemporary flair. Parking and WiFi are included. The WiFi password is printed on an accessible instruction sheet attached to the inside of the guest room doors. I did arrive close to midnight due to heavy traffic, but the host met me with a very friendly reception and even helped me carry up one of my suitcases. The beds are comfortable with plenty of different-sized pillows and the shower cabin has a futuristic look and works well. I enjoyed the small sachet with three different soaps wrapped separately like a gift. Beautiful idea. I did arrive with a bit of a migraine from travel stress, but a good night’s rest and the awesome breakfast revived me. The breakfast room is decorated like a contemporary bar in a city like Milan. The hosts do offer a selection of seven or eight home-made Italian cakes. I settled for a slice of a traditional “crostata alle frutte di bosco” and an apple cake. Good choice of tea or coffee. And a selection of yoghurt and fruits make it suitable for vegetarians. In sum, I give DormiVeglia B&B a ten out of ten and highly recommend it.

No pictures can justify the beauty, the comfort and elegance of this place! Simona and her family are great hosts and I felt that everything about our stay had us in mind and we were certainly placed in the centre of attention. There were so many little finishing touches, that contributed towards the authentic Tuscan experience starting from the location, the buiding and of course The Breakfast! Amazing coffee to start with, followed by selection of fruit, homemade cakes, biscuits, yogurts , croissants, fresh bread rolls and toppings, also wide selection of locally sourced and homemade fruit preserves. All delicious! Jacuzzi in the garden was great to relax in, after a day of visiting the local area. I am very grateful for the hospitality and I would recommend staying with Simona and her family.

Simona and her husband were absolutely AMAZING!!! Simona made sure that we had a very romantic time by booking us a private winery tour with a lakeside lunch and reservations at a nice restaurant within walking distance of her home. And that’s after walking into our spotless room with cozy slippers and fluffy white robes…and did I mention the private hot tub with our room? Simona was very accommodating with nearly everything you could possibly imagine from start to finish! She made our stay memorable, right down to the finishing touches; for example, the fresh lavender that she put on our breakfast tray, which I kept! We would certainly return again and we are grateful that they opened up their beautiful home to us! ❤️

This property is just off the main square or piazza grande. It is more than a room but an apartment. The kitchen is stocked with a refrigerator, stove, toaster, espresso machine and all the plates and utensils. The reception area also offers cooking boxes so you can have it pre delivered to your apartment before you arrive. The place was very quiet and you have a lot of windows that can open to allow fresh air. The air conditioner works well and the water pressure was good. The bathroom was spacious.

The price-quality ratio was just outstanding. My room was huge, and I loved being in an historic building right in Arezzo's beautiful main square. What I loved the most was how kind the girl welcoming me and my friend was when I arrived. She was very proud about her job and her company, which also makes biological wine. She offered a bit of that too, and it was just amazing to be greeted in such a generous manner. So looking forward coming again. Highly recommended

This was a very charming and characterful room very near the centre of town, and only 15 minutes from the train station. We were able to get the keys even though our plane was very delayed. Arezzo itself is a lovely place with good facilities and lots of very good cafés and restaurants. If shopping is your thing there are many good shops, and there are museums and churches aplenty to visit.

A beautiful little hotel with a very clean pool and conveniently located close to Cortona and other beautiful Tuscan villages. Antonella was a very gracious host that let us enjoy the pool the day we checked out for as long as we wanted. The breakfast was one of the best we had in Italy, served by very attentive waitress and enjoyed in the company of other guest. Very reasonably priced. Will come back!

Truly exceptional! From start to finish, we loved our stay at San Francesco. Antonella is such a warm and welcoming host and the whole property is charming, cosy, comfortable. She went above and beyond to cater to my dietaries, and the expansive breakfast spread in the morning was a highlight including home baked goods. Cortona is nearby, and Antonella provided a map and wonderful recommendations. The room is superb - comfy bed, extremely clean, smartTV included. We didn’t get a chance to enjoy the pool due to weather, but it looked very inviting! Couldn’t recommend San Francesco more - a highlight of our Tuscany trip.

Beautiful property. We were greeted on arrival to collect the keys to our room. The building has lots of character, the pool was clean and comfortable to lounge around with the excellent weather that we had during our stay in September. Our host Antonella was very friendly and helpful with recommendations with things to do and see in the area, including amazing local restaurant recommendations. The provided breakfast was very good and freshly baked every morning. I would highly recommend staying at Agriturismo San Francesco if you are looking to have a comfortable, quiet, relaxing stay in the Tuscan countryside.

The hostess, Antonella, was charming and so hospitable. We were upgraded to an apt and so appreciated it. The views of the Tuscan countryside are stunning from her property. Swimming pool is well maintained and pristine. Accommodation inside is immaculate and homely. The breakfast is delicious and generous in quantity. Close to several pretty Tuscan villages and Cortona. Great location. Antonella was friendly and gave helpful tips of sights, local restaurant nearby which was superb. Highly recommend this for a base in Tuscany.

The breakfast was excellent. The host served us a local food. The place is absolutelly breathtaking. Nice nature, swimming pool and very comfy rooms. This place will take your heart. I hope, we'll come again one day. Antonella - the host was really taking care of us.
