Small paradise next to the Lagoon Bacalar. Amazing swimming pool and space next to it with hotel access to the lagoon. It was simply amazing. Very clean, khabanas are big and have varandas with hammock which is lovely. Water pressure in the bathroom really good, hot water, swimming pool towels etc. Nice staff. Hotel has restaurant, good food. Wi-Fi working really well.

The views and how you have the lagoon as your pool (there is an actual pool too), the room is very big and the beds were super comfy.

Small boutique hotel with friendly staff and lovely rooms. The restaurant is a ten minute drive from the town, and therefore very quit and a serene place to relax. They have a great overflow pool overlooking the lake as well as a pier with relax chairs, hammocks and great views. Paddle out on the lake and experience the quietness of nature. Super! Highly recommended. Perfect for a few days of reading and chilling.

Property was very beautiful and well taken of. The bar and the pool was very nice and the thier lagoon section was clean to swim in. One of the best views in Bacalar. Staff was very friendly and professional. Must comment the manager Johnathan, he was extremely nice and professional and made us fell at home. Already planning another stay there! Highly recommend

We loved everthing about the place! The entrance, the swimming pool, the location, the nice and very comfortable bed. Amazing! We would recommend and come back any time we can!!

The property was great! MBH is about 5km away from the center of bacalar, which makes it perfect if you're looking for something quiet and private. The property is quite large and even has biking trails to ride one, kayaks, and paddle boards for free. Bar has really good drinks, food is great,i and I would highly recommend having a day out on the dock and trying their Potatoes and wings. Private pools are also heated, which is great, wonderful views of the lagoon from the balconies and stunning sunrises, reception staff was really great as well as the bar and restaurant staff. Bacalar taxi service is also very responsive to get you to town in the area the hotel is located. Highly recommend and will be back.

I extremely liked the infrastructure, the vibes and the facilities the hotel has. The views are awesome, I particularly liked the lagoon deck, it is super comfortable. This is a place to enjoy delicious dishes and drinks, as well as bike rides, jacuzzis, a cool pool, saunas and kayak rides. The hospitality with which they treat you makes you feel quite comfortable and makes this a place you don't want to leave soon.

Hands down this is the best hotel on the island! Better than some of the most expensive ones around! It has the most beautiful deck onto the lagoon. The staff is incredibly polite and very accommodating! The views from the terrace (with the tiny swimming pool) at the top of one of the buildings and the jacuzzi terrace in another one of the buildings are simply breathtaking! An absolutely incredible experience!

Die Anlage an und für sich ist sehr schön. Leider aber etwas heruntergekommen, darin nur 4 Sterne. Auf jedem Dach der Häuser ist eine Sauna und ein Jacuzzi oder kleiner Pool. Leider funktioniert das meiste nicht. Beim See ist es schön aber direkt am Anfang wächst Seetang und darüber zu schwimmen ist eklig und gefährlich. Es müsste entfernt werden…

It was heaven. My jaw dropped as soon as I saw the room I booked with a plunge pool. Not to mention their restaurant has the most amazing views.

Naya bacalar was fantastic! Beautifully designed huts with nice lighting and private pool. Food options were great. Service was excellent and Javier was especially good and attentive in making sure we had everything we needed. Very short walk to lakefront area (currently shared with agave blue) and organising kayaks through hotel was no problem. Highly recommend!!

The staff took great care of us, the complex is small so it is intimate but at the same time the infrastructure allows you to meet others and talk with other customers and share experiences not to be missed in Bacalar. The yoga classes are great and suitable for all levels, especially for the first time. The lunch is excellent and varied, yes there are not a thousand choices but it is cooked a la minute especially for you so it remains very flexible and these are details that make the experience unique and made for you. The rooms are beautiful, clean and well thought out. It had everything we needed, even mosquito spray. It was a beautiful stay !

What a beauty of a place. 10 min drive to town, the huge bungalows are designed with quality in mind. Huge, super comfortable beds, outdoor shower (with infrared light to not attract mosquitoes) but indoor toilet, the most comfortable hammock i've experienced, and a 'private' garden. Amazing calm music at reception and the restaurant. Loved staying here. All the staff were very friendly. Top ups of flavoured water (cucumber/orange infused). And within a 2-3 mins walk you have an almost private entrance to the incredible lake, where you can rent SUPs or canoes. Will definitely return.

The property is just amazing!!! So quiet and peaceful. The rooms are clean and the place is maintained so well, the waterin the shower is super hot and the stream is great (which is not common is Mexico). The AC is freezing! The breakfast is very rich, and I loved there is a buffet where you can take cereals, coffee, bread, juice and more. You can also fill your water bottle whenever you want for free. The staff are very nice, helping with everything (taxis, problems with the wifi and etc.). I loved that you can use the Sup boards and Kayaks for free. Also the pool next to the lagoon is a bit warm and clean! The view is ON SPOT! The facilities are wonderful right on the lagoon. So chilling!! Could stay there forever (just kidding, I need more money 😋)

Our family of 3 stayed in the room with 4 twin beds (backpacker style!) when we stayed during the annular eclipse. The room was very basic, especially the bathroom, but the view was stunning. We loved the pool, dock and ease of checking out the included kayaks and paddleboards. Service was excellent and everyone was so friendly - some of the best service we have experienced in Mexico. The only downside was the beds were quite hard and could use some kind of softer covering. Overall, highly recommend!

Everything - we had the most relaxing stay! Staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was included and delicious. the restaurant beside the hotel was also delicious for dinner. Kayaks and paddle boards available for use during the day - sun loungers and the pool as well. Very peaceful!

Great room, pool, location. Good restaurant on site. Beach club and free kayak. We could park our car on private parking. Pool is open until very late.

The service was very good and the people there were kind, appreciative for our visit and very helpful to us. To pool is very cute and while we did not use it, the people that did seemed to enjoy it. The location is ideal... just a couple blocks away from the main square - close to walk, far enough that you didn't hear all of the noise. Lots of restaurants and bars very close, making it a fun time for us. The only problem was that the bed is very hard and uncomfortable - even getting a mattress topper for extra padding would have made this much more enjoyable. Otherwise, good prices, great service and a wonderful trip.

Free kayaks at the beach club and the most lovely and helpful man worked down there. (There isn’t a beach but is some nice decking to view the beautiful lake from). Hotel itself is in a good spot in town, comfy rooms and beds, we had an unexpectedly huge room! Pool is cute. Staff helpful.

We appreciate the good location of the hotel, the grooming, the comfortable sleeping and the cleanliness. Front desk service diligent and helped us connect to a different SSID as the standard wifi offered was very weak. We didn't take advantage of the inviting swimming pool as it often rained heavily. The biggest advantage was the excellent "Mr Taco" restaurant opposite.

Great location, just off from the lake. Very quiet rooms with a warm shower and aircon. The pool was a great size, and the beach club was about a 15 minute walk but really worth it, very picturesque and private, with deck chairs, toilets and kayaks to use for free. Lots of nearby restaurants. Would recommend!

This city center hotel was gorgeous! When you enter this hotel you are overcome with a sense of peace and tranquility. The grounds are so beautifully landscaped and the pool is so inviting. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. This hotel is very conveniently located. It's a short walk to the main square, restaurants, The Fort and to the lagoon. Wonderful full breakfast is included. Bike are available for guest use (although we didn't use because we were able to walk everywhere). Rooms were clean, air conditioned and had ample storage. Each rooms faces the pool and has a little patio out front with a hammock. Would love to come back with a group of friends.

Lovely new hotel which is really nicely decorated with a gorgeous pool and pool area! The restaurant and breakfast are also really great, the owner is super friendly and had great advice on places to visit in Bacalar. The team were also incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms are large and comfortable with nice hammocks outside. Also bikes to use if you want to cycle around town. Would love to stay again!

Nice secluded little hotel, not so many rooms so it’s quiet and the pool area is lovely. Really enjoyed the hammocks in the shade at the end of the pool. Rooms are clean, with A/C, and comfortable. Staff are also lovely and super helpful.

Our 5 day stay at Blue Palm Bacalar was the highlight of our 3 week exploration of the Yucatan Peninsula. When researching our options for where to stay in Bacalar, we initially considered waterfront properties. However, given that many of the waterfront properties were much more expensive, had mediocre reviews and were often further from central Bacalar, we chose Blue Palm Bacalar for it's central location, excellent reviews and comparative value. The owners of this property are absolutely delightful and put their heart and soul into ensuring their guests feel welcome and comfortable. The rooms are spacious, offering well-working A/C, a comfortable bed, nice showers and lovely decor. A delicious breakfast is provided at the onsite restaurant, Mistura, where we also enjoyed several excellent evening meals (kudos to the chef). We enjoyed hanging out around the pool, and booked massage appointments and a sailing excursion through the front desk. Bacalar is very safe and it is a short walk to the main square where good restaurants, coffee shops and bars abound. We loved Bacalar so much we've booked a 2 week stay next January with Blue Palm Bacalar and very much look forward to returning. Highly recommend.

Best hotel in Bacalar❤️ design, cosy, well located next Bacalar town. the room is big with a large bathroom (shower+bath). you have everything : pool, access to the lagoon. Breakfast amazing with fresh fruits, and restaurant is very amazing, very tasty! thanks to the staff ✅

Writing this review on our last night here. Sadly we go home tomorrow. Had such a great experience at Puerta del Cielo. From the moment we stepped inside the beautiful wooden door we were transported to a lush and tranquil paradise. We were taken care of as if we were the only ones here. All staff was so accommodating and helpful. We got the partial lagoon view room and it was so nice! Each room has their own patio with bathtub and table w/chairs for delicious breakfasts. The food/chef was amazing.! We enjoyed every dish we tried. Loved the pool area/ palapa. Comfy loungers and great service by the pool for refreshing drinks. Try the cocomango gin cocktail. Delicious!! Can’t think of a bad thing to say about this place. Like others have mentioned it’s a short cab ride to the town center/Zocalo where there is lots of restaurants, shopping, bars, beach clubs, food carts, ice cream etc. 10/10 just book it!!

We have stayed in many hotels around the world and this has become one of our favourites. It was unexpected, as we had decided to visit Bacalar on a whim, having heard from other travellers that Bacalar lagoon was not to be missed. The hotel has been open for less than a month, but the price point was right, the location was right and despite the lack of reviews, the photos looked lovely. Well, the photos were wrong, it was better than lovely, the views over the lagoon are incredible and the design and layout of the hotel, enhances those views. We were so mesmerised by the views that we spent a whole day on the beautiful deck, dipping in and out of the lagoon or the pool and ordering drinks and delicious food from the restaurant. So much more pleasant than a beach club. The hotel is a few kilometres out of town, which was not a problem for us as we had a car. Having a car, we found the spacious, free and secure car park just off the main highway to be a real asset. Many other waterfront properties in the Bacalar area are difficult to access with a normal car. The staff are new and as with any new establishment the staff need time to learn, but their enthusiasm and eagerness to please are genuine. They even accommodated our request to have dinner in the palapa over the water, by carrying all the furniture and food up and down many, many sets of stairs! Overall, this is a beautiful hotel with an amazing location and kind, welcoming staff.

We stayed at Puerta del Cielo for four nights and literally could not fault our stay. Our room (room 12, overlooking the lake) was beautiful, so clean and really spacious. The balcony was the perfect place to sit to take in the lake with a cocktail :) We arrived quite late on the first night and we were very warmly welcomed by the staff with a refreshing drink! We spent our time here really relaxing, enjoying the comfy sun loungers by the pool and hanging out in the palapa next to the lake. Being able to just jump into the lake from our hotel was amazing, and the water was the cleanest I’ve ever swam in (although a bit choppy when it was windy!) The staff were so attentive with great attention to detail. I saw another reviewer saying they didn’t speak very good English - some of the staff have really fluent English, others speak a little bit less, but it absolutely did not affect our experience at all. We also ate all our meals here - the food was delicious, with generous portions, and the drinks were really tasty (especially the margaritas!). For the level of service and the quality of food and drink I felt they were good value for money, although obviously a bit more expensive than what you would probably get in town, but being from the UK we were pleasantly surprised by some of the prices. We could not recommend this place more, if you’re looking for a luxury stay in beautiful Bacalar!

This is probably one of the nicest boutique hotels I have seen in Bacalar. It's luxurious and not over priced. My room was upstairs with a partial lagoon view. It felt very private and extremely comfortable although I'd say the beds are on the small side but I'm a solo traveller so wasn't an issue for me. It's a little out of the town but taxis are so cheap no more than 50 pesos. I loved the huge outdoor bathtub. The pool area was very nice and there's a deck leading to the lagoon. Food was very very good, the chef was accommodating to my specific requirements and it didn't work out very expensive. Service by all staff is exceptional here. Hotel was so quiet I sometimes felt like the only guest. I'd highly recommend this beautiful hotel.

Location was just north of town, so close enough to get there but far enough it was very peaceful and quiet. The lounge chairs and hammocks out on the dock were lovely. The hot tub and pool were quite enjoyable, with pool towels provided!

Rancho Encantado is a truly unique hotel set on the edge of Lake Bacalar. Walking through the grounds, you feel as though you are in a beautifully maintained jungle, yet the lake is right there as well. It is such a peaceful setting and is very quiet. From the restaurant, the views of the lake are unbelievable and the food is really delicious! The bar has really good cocktails also. The spa is set on the lake, a little removed from the restaurant and the pool, private, yet open to the lake with gently lapping sounds of the water against the land. We were in the Master Suite Laguna and had our own dock that led to the lake, with a ladder where you can enter and exit the lake. My understanding is there are 9 rooms that are lakefront, 4 of which are the Master Suite Laguna rooms, with other options available. Service was impeccable, but time moves slower in Mexico, so don’t expect your food or drinks to be delivered immediately. Each order is prepared only once you order it and it is absolutely worth the wait. There are gentle breezes and lake to overlook, often with fish near the shore, so relax and enjoy the views. I highly recommend this hotel. We came with another couple and plan to return again with more friends. This hotel is a little more remote-not near centro, but you can get a taxi there for 100 pesos (at this time) and to Los Rapidos for 300 pesos. Wonderful vacation spot!

Hotel Rancho Encantado is a wonderful place through and through, from the location, to the staff, food, and amenities. On top of that it is affordably priced and located only 10 minutes drive from the cool little town of Bacalar. Everything was up to or exceeded our expectations, except that perhaps the dinner at their restaurant was a little overpriced. I would come back and stay here again in a heartbeat. Their section of shoreline on the lagoon is incredible, the pool and hot tub are great, and the room we stayed in was spacious, comfortable, and had filtered water and a mini fridge. They have kayaks and paddle boards for rent, which they are super chill about. We both did yoga with a local instructor twice, which I think was like $270 MXP a person or $15 USD (very affordable), and my wife had an hour long massage for about $1500 MXP or $80 USD (also affordable).

This was our second time staying at the property—our first visit was seven years ago. We returned because we had such a great experience the first time, and we were pleasantly surprised to see that the new ownership has made significant improvements. The property now features a beautiful pool and a picturesque dock extending into the lagoon, complete with hammocks for relaxing. They also offer a boat tour of the lagoon, which was excellent. Our guide was fantastic, and even though we were running late, they kindly accommodated us with a later departure. We were celebrating our son’s 15th birthday, and the staff went above and beyond to make it special. They arranged for a cake, decorated his room, and even sang Happy Birthday. The food throughout our stay was delicious, and a highlight was the woman making fresh corn tortillas on-site, they were incredible.

I had breakfast in the hotel as it was included and it was delicious. Customer service was exceptional all over the hotel. The room was very comfortable and just steps from the water and it was beautiful and a very private area. The sunrise was amazing from the room! As a solo traveler I felt very safe there. The pool was nice and clean and hammocks are everywhere. Paddle boards and kayaks are available for free which is a nice touch. The hotel is in a beautiful spot. Santos did a good job with the lagoon tour. Alex (concierge) got everything set up for me in advance and he was very responsive. I would recommend this hotel and the tour and the massage.

We had an amazing stay at Hotel Carolina Bacalar. We could not have wished for a more beautiful hotel in a beautiful place like Bacalar. Both the lake and the hotel , wich is directly on the lake shore, are worth the trip south. The pictures of Hotel Carolina Bacalar exeed the expectations. The bearkfast options, food drinks and service are great too. The pool might come across a bit small but the lake fully compensates for this. We only spend 2 nights in Bacalar, I wish we would have stayed a day or two longer in Bacalar and Hotel Carolina. The only point of attation we have is the showerhead.

From the moment we walked in we felt the calmness and beauty of Hotel Carolina. We felt so welcomed. I spent HOURS researching the best hotel in Bacalar, and this was absolutely perfect! Beautiful rooms and grounds. My young boys (6 and 8) loved the pool and the warm lagoon waters. Breakfast was stunning sitting on the deck. We enjoyed sitting in the sun looking over the waters on the pier/beach chairs, and the swings in the water make for perfect pictures. Kayaks were available for adventures (close to a cenote for exploring!). We would love to stay again.

I loved my stay here. It is a lovely hotel, nice view to lo the lagoon. Nice pool and restaurant by the lagoon. The service was really friendly. We used the kayaks and had a lovely stay there. I higly recommend it. Surely will stay again in the future

Excelente place to stay in Bacalar. Clean and the staff very attentive. It was during low season. So not a lot of guesses in the hotel. The pool was under renovation but we reían upgrade to American breakfast instead of continental. Food at the hotel was delicious

The space itself is on the more beautiful spaces in Bacalar. Gorgeous architecture and the place is overall, cute. Small tiny bar outside. Great menu for food offerings. Small pool. Well maintained grounds.

This property is gorgeous and has the best hospitality and kindest staff. Aside from the breathtaking view of the lake, the rooms, grounds, and common areas are very well decorated. Bed and pillows are very comfy, and all linen was fresh and clean. The shower was warm and the water pressure was perfect. Breakfast is included and enjoyed in Raiz, the hotel’s restaurant. Unlike other free hotel breakfasts, their’s is made to order and absolutely delicious and filling. However, not to be missed is their a la carte menu, we tried their guac, chilaquiles, chicken sandwich and french toast - all made skillfully from scratch with the freshest high quality ingredients - Chef Pablo is absolutely amazing! Unexpectedly, I had the best cinnamon roll of my life in this hotel restaurant, I loved it so much that I brought a few back to Canada. Craft cocktails made by Carlos at the bar should not be missed either. Incidentally, when our rental car didn’t start one day, Carlos went out of his way to find jumper cables and moved his car to assist us, saving us time and money. Our server Ruby, had the most welcoming smile and gave the best service without fail every single day. Charlie the security guard was also a delight to be around at night, we felt very safe. Karen in front desk and all the housekeeping staff were all excellent.

The hotel is in a fantastic spot on the lagoon and we had a balcony that looked out onto the water. It''s an amazing spot to relax at during the day and there are plenty of sun loungers. Breakfast is served overlooking the lagoon and is coffee/tea, fruit/juice, eggs/omelette/bacon or pancakes. The staff were very friendly. It is about a 20-30 minute to the main town area of bacalar where most of the bars and restaurants are. We sometimes walked and sometimes took a taxi which cost between 60-80 pesos. The room was very clean, air con worked really well. WiFi was very good. The bed was large and comfortable.

What an amazing hotel!!! Right on the water with its own private dock. The rooms are fantastic!!! Large, modern with great beds and linen. Everything is super clean and well maintained. The staff is really awesome as well. Carlos helped us with a tour. He speaks great English and is so polite and professional. The on site restaurant is really, really good. The modern and gourmet kitchen is a huge step up if what you normally see in Mexico. The food is exceptional and Ruby (our server) always has a smile. The service from all the staff is just top notch. Do yourself a favor, stay a few nights, you will thank me later

We chose this place to spend New Year's and we weren't disappointed. The rooms were very nice (especially when you have beach view), the staff super friendly and the on-site restaurant was great. Also, the location at the bay was perfect for relaxing, swimming or taking a boat tour right from your hotel (like we did). There was a tiny shop next door, another good restaurant across the street and the pretty town of Bacalar is just a few minutes away. We would definitely come again.

We've booked this hotel last minute as we've been scammed on a "all included" hotel few km away from there. We managed to get a discount and we had one of the best staying we ever had! This place is incredible. Wonderful facilities and incredible view on the lake with a private deck where to lay and relax, reading a book and drinking a good margarita! Dream spot!

just a little heaven away from the city and the boats noise! staff is very nice and helpful. the place is very cute. a big CONGRATS to the chef and his team for the incredible food!!! you really need to stay and eat here, as it is so much better than the restaurant in town! probably one of the best food we had in Mexico so far. the carrabean ceviche is to dead for ! if you want to get a massage : have it !! the couple who does the massage is very nice and make an great massage with reflexology right next to the laguna.. with the sound of the waves. we also book the yoga paddle season through the hotel and we had a very good yoga teacher and they took photos of us for free during sunrise! such a great experience. kayak and paddle can we take use for free at the hotel. to conclude, as it was my bday, the staff made a very cute surprise !! I can’t thank them enough!!

Hotel Xcabal was amazing! From the moment we arrived they were very attentive and friendly. We only had one small issue during our stay but the hostess took care of it immediately. Then on the morning we checked out, we came out to a flat tire on our car. The staff changed the tire for us very quickly (and for free) and then recommended a local tire place nearby to get the tire patched. Overall our experience was amazing here. The property is beautiful. The rooms are clean and gorgeous. The deck attached to the room and the free kayaks are a nice touch. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.

Beautiful view of the lagoon and really cute hotel. My stay was perfect, the staff are kind, friendly and helpful and I would definitely stay there again. Only downside if you don’t have a car, it’s a little far from town center and you’ll need to be taking cabs, otherwise it’s a 5 min. drive and it’s more secluded and peaceful, as the town can be a bit louder.

Good size room with nice big balcony overlooking the lagoon. Loved the private access to the lagoon. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great during our stay so we didn't use it as much as we would have liked. Despite the rain, we did do the private boat tour of the Lagoon that's was recommended by the hotel, it was a great experience and the staff were lovely!

It’s a lovely property close to the centre of Bacalar and also close to the busstation. Theplace looks good, there is breakfast and a really nice swimming pool with outdoor shower. I arrived early, but because the room was already clean I was able to get my room earlier. I also was able to stay and use the swimming pool and outdoor shower after I had checked out, because the ADO night bus to Palenque was leaving at 22:45h. I’m very grateful for this kind of service! They have a lovely staff: Abril, Aislin & Dario. They are very extremely helpful and kind!!! I definitely would come back to this place!

Great location! We had two deluxe rooms with private hut tub on the 2nd floor with a family of 5. We stayed 4 nights. The rooms were very comfortable, although the beds had very weird feeling mattress and pillow covers (like they worry you will wet the bed). Nice bathrooms, good shower and fresh towels. The pool is lovely, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast! They offer comfy pooltowels and towels for when you head to the lagoon. Free drinking water refills in glass bottles was a big plus!

It was walking distance to everything! But better yet they allowed you to use bikes for free! That was a highlight to be able to ride my bike around and visit different restaurants and go different places. It was super quiet and comfortable. The breakfast was awesome but the best part of this entire stay was the staff, Carla, Nestor, and Amber were amazing. I felt like I was staying at my friend’s house. The pool area was so cute and a great place to read and relax They also booked me with the adventure, lab another company for my excursions which did an amazing job as well

What an absolute treat to stay at the Agam. The breakfast which was included was delicious. I opted for the avocado toast every morning which was so delicious, as well as the coffee and fruit, granola and yogurt. Nestor was brilliant as he was so helpful and friendly. The room was small but cozy and the pool and surrounding areas was lovely. Our stay was perfect! Do not hesitate to book this hotel. We loved it.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel! One of the highlights was the beautiful view from the balcony — waking up to such a serene and picturesque scene was truly unforgettable. The room was spotless and very comfortable, with a big, cozy bed and a bathroom that was both spacious and well-appointed. What really sets this place apart is the private access to the lagoon, which made it easy and relaxing to enjoy the water whenever I wanted. The hotel also offers fantastic facilities like kayaks and stand-up paddleboards (SUPs), which added a fun and active dimension to my stay. Parking was convenient with a good spot right near the hotel, which made coming and going hassle-free. I also appreciated the restaurants nearby, many of which offer delivery options. Breakfast was delicious and satisfying, a great way to start each day. The service throughout my stay was exceptionally friendly and attentive, making me feel truly welcome. Overall, this hotel combines comfort, convenience, and beautiful surroundings perfectly. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

It was the perfect place to celebrate Valentine's Day and my birthday. The view was breathtaking, and the staff was super attentive. The bedroom was romantically set with a full view of the lagoon. The reflection of the full moon on the lagoon created the perfect environment for a romantic and relaxing getaway. We went with another couple to explore Bacalar, and the hotel offered enough privacy for all. We were all super happy of finding this gem to disconnect and recharge. The use of the kayaks included in the reservation price was a super bonus. Kayaking around the lagoon was a wonderful experience. The crystal clear color of the waters was unbelievable. Pictures don't do justice. The hotel was at a 10-minute walk from the Cenote Azul and a 13-minute car ride to the center of town where you could find a variety of restaurants that won't disappoint. We got a few recommendations for restaurants from Angel, and he was spot on.

This place was awesome. Decided to make the drive from Tulum and when booking was looking at several places on the lagoon and decided on Blue Caribe..Im so glad I did!! The place is awesome.. Private cabins were perfect. Right on the lagoon. We took advantage of the kayaks and used the motor bikes they provided. It was so fun. We had a car but cruised the motos into town for fun. The staff was super friendly and ALWAYS right there available for anything you need 24 hrs a day. Each day, they asked us, "What time would you like breakfast tomorrow" and each day, they delivered breakfast to our room, right on time! Everything was just great!! If you are thinking of coming to Bacalar. DO IT. And when you do, stay here!! You won't regret it!!

The view was breathtaking. The outside gazebos created a perfect environment for relaxation and comfort. We spent time at night in the gazebos having cocktails, enjoying some music, and the gorgeous full moon. The kayaks were a wonderful perk - kayaking around the lagoon was spectacular. The staff was very attentive - always on top of our needs, big thanks to Angel, who took care of many of our needs and suggested a few great restaurants in the area. They also accommodated us with a to go breakfast as we were checking out before their regular serving time. We are already planning another trip to Bacalar and hope to stay at Blue Caribe Front Lagoon.

great place to stay!! great price for what you get, a little outside of town but with your room you get a motorcycle to get around. the Lake is so beautiful and the views from your room are breath taking. Very friendly staff, they bring breakfast to your room, they include a couple bottles of water, soda and beer daily, you get kayaks and paddle boards to go to the lake, all included in the price. Rooms are clean, don’t expect luxury but you get everything you need and more! will stay at this hotel every time I go back to Bacalar🤪

The room was spacious and clean! We read some bad reviews on the breakfast but all was great!! Also very convient to rent bikes at the reception. We also enjoyed the rooftop with small plunge pool. The breakfast ladies were the most kind people on the entire building. The reception staff however lacked interest and hospitality.

Good value for money. Very nice hotel with several areas to relax (sun terrace and two different pools). Spacious room with big, comfortable bed. Towels for pool provided. In-house laundry service for fair price. Free access to drinking water.

Loved everything about this hotel. It’s at the quieter end of Bacalar, but only a short walk to the Main Square and Fort. The hotel is really nicely designed, giving it a secluded feel. I had balcony room, which was fabulous with the hammock. Nice to have a fridge in the room and AC was great. Bed was very comfortable. Great shower, plenty of hot water. Liked the swimming pool and the little roof terrace was a nice retreat space. All the team were lovely and very kind. The breakfast was great. I wanted somewhere to relax for a few days after travelling for nearly 3 weeks. Staying at this hotel was just what I needed. I would happily stay here again!

Spacious rooms with very comfortable beds. The AC works really well and there’s also a ceiling fan. There’s a large TV (though the signal wasn’t great during my stay) and a small fridge. The bathroom is big, with excellent hot water and pressure, plus plenty of storage space. Our room was right next to the pool, which was perfect. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is buffet style, good quality, and you can eat as much as you like. The hotel is just a couple of blocks from the main square, with lots of restaurants nearby. I also recommend taking a tour on the lake while staying here. I would definitely stay again.

Well we travel a lot and I have to say I am totally surprised at this gem of a hotel. We wanted something within walking distance of restaurants, piers, attractions. The location is excellent! The staff are amazing, the hotel Is so charming and clean, and the amenities are great. It has 2 pools, loungers, hammocks and a nice hot buffet breakfast is included.oh they supplied 4 bottles of water in the mini fridge for free and had a water refill station at the reception desk. I would definitely stay here again.

Excellent hotel! Very attentive and thoughtful staff - mario was excellent! Very clean and thoughtfully equipped room. The colibri room was a small one for 1 person. After i booked it - they sent me a message explaining that it was not a full sized room - i thought that was so thoughtful. The room still had a fridge, coffee maker, coffee, tea, sugar, cups, a spoon, drinking water, a place for clothes, A/c, etc many windows and good airflow. Of course it’s own bathroom and towels. The only thing it didn’t have was a quilt - but this is not customary here. The property is well located close to the lagoon and restaurants. The pool is a good temperature and well-designed with places to sit in the pool and areas of sun and shade. Everything was very clean and the property felt secure. At the end mario requested a taxi for me and the ride to the ADO was 40 pesos. Thank you to the staff for an excellent stay.

We (42F, 43M from USA) felt this was a wonderful value for our week in Bacalar. Staff was kind and available for our requests. Pool was beautiful and clean, although not heated which was ok because the lake was gorgeous! Had the weather been warmer I’m sure the pool would be perfect. We stayed in king suite and it had plenty of room for 2 of us and felt very clean/bright/cheerful. Location was central- we parked our rental car on the street and walked everywhere for the whole week of our stay- it was so lovely! We didn’t use the kitchen at all but it was well equipped (the restaurants in Bacalar are so good, we dined out). Hotel provided all drinking water which was appreciated.

-the room was spacious and bright -beds were comfy -free water refill, hot water, tea and coffee in front of the reception -the pool was super clean (it doesn't happen often) -the staff was helpful and kind -free toiletries and towel for the pool ready to use -breakfast in the near restaurant, not so many options but for us was perfect (you can choose between oat bowl, fried eggs or mexican egg, hummus toast, eggs with jamon then coffe or tea and fruit or juice)

Nice spacious 2 bedroom apartment next to the pool. The children of 10 and 13 years liked the net and hamac/relaxing chair upstairs most. Good breakfast with several options like scrambled eggs, Mexican warm special dish, pancakes and toast. Nice restaurant, good food, not a lot of options but fine and good cocktails. Really kind staff, nice pool, liked this hotel most of the 8 hotels in Mexico. 5 minutes walk to city centre.

The property was very well kept. Our room was clean, bed was comfortable and extra towels provided for pool. The pool and restaurant/bar are perfectly situated between all of the rooms. Parking in the front, accommodated our large vehicle, gated as well. The location was about a 10 minute walk to the central of Bacalar. The staff were very friendly and so helpful!

Had a relaxing stay for 3 nights here. Pool was refreshing with nice lounge chairs. Room was spacious and clean with soap, shampoo and conditioner. Beds were comfy. Shower was great! Free breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The only snag was they tried to say I stole a spoon from my room when I checked out. I was barely even in my room, and I don’t remember seeing any spoons because there were no dishes, confusing but I said I didn’t take it and we left without an extra charge. Overall it was a good choice to be near the square but far enough away to be quiet. I would stay here again.

Nice design of casitas, paths, gardens…white stones covered the soil which kept the sidewalks clean. They gave facecloths!! A nice breakfast was included and it changes a bit daily. Also has a snack bar at the pool. TV with hood channel selection. The bed was a bit firm for us. Surprised there was no blow dryer but I didn’t ask at reception, they may have had one for use. There was a chicken farm in the back side of the property but the rooster didn’t bother us- it is Mexico! Live as the locals do!

Exquisite and unrivaled views over lake Bacalar with multiple scenic points to absorb nature. The most chilled and relaxed 5* I have ever stayed at; no rubbing it in your face or pressures to spend, completely focussed on your stay, relaxation and comfort. Easy access to the lake for swims alongside free kayaking and paddle boarding. Crystal clear pools. Spacious and very comfortable room with great shower and frogs on the balcony! Very helpful, friendly and respectful staff.

We have really enjoyed our stay at Casa Hormiga and were feeling a bit down having to leave. The hotel has a beautiful design around the two main pools. Though the pools are in the center of the hotel it was a quiet and relax place where the friendly staff is working hard to maintain it a 10 out of 10 hotel. Our room was spacious, clean and elegantly designed including all amenities. Beds, pillows, linens, towels etc everything was of perfect quality. Staff of the hotel was super friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the free yoga classes the hotel offered as well as the bicycles we could use. Massages from Augustin and Abdel were tremendous! Besides Casa Hormiga has an ATM for cash withdrawals which is very useful.

I loved my stay at Casa Hormiga. Everything was excellent, including the fantastic cocktails from the bar, the delicious food with lots of vegetarian options, the quiet pools and the comfortable room. We were there during a slow month so the hotel wasn't full, which meant we had the pool all to ourselves and it never felt busy at breakfast either. The city is walkable from here but it's not right in the middle of the noisy areas either.

We had a great stay. The staff, public areas, food pool etc amazing. It’s a beautiful property our only issue was the bed honestly. There are only queen size beds (we knew but hoped for comfort), but honesty the beds were not the most comfortable. The lobby, pool area and dinning are beautiful. We just felt like the rooms were nice but fell short. The sink in the bathroom is a odd height a lot higher than most. The rooms are a great size more than enough room for a king size bed. Overall we loved the location and our stay.

Casa Hormiga is a little oasis in a somewhat busy town. This was a last minute booking due to various reasons (now I wish I had booked this place first and for longer!!!). It has been designed exceptionally well to muffle noises from different areas. We loved our room (the kids especially liked their ‘upstairs’ room. Huge bed. First night our youngest slept with us as she had been unwell and it was fine. Pool is deliciously refreshing! Loved it. I really enjoyed the breakfast (and they were kind enough to make us stronger coffee as being Brazilian we don’t like weak coffee) - nothing was ever too much for the staff. The standout point about the stay though was the staff. So kind and attentive. Victor at the desk was so kind - our youngest daughter was ill on the first night and he was so helpful. Also the bar/kitchen staff were also attentive. Honestly, your staff are amazing!!

Not only was the property lovely, the food was delicious and the staff were above and beyond kind and helpful. While I was there, I needed medical attention. The staff worked as translators with the hospital, set up taxi rides, and checked in on me frequently. So generous. The pool area is clean and calming. My hammock on the porch, alluring. The beds were comfortable and the showers hot. No complaints at all. Casa Hormiga is quiet and peaceful. It is only a few blocks to the lake or the plaza... very convenient. I'd stay there again any day.
