It was our first stop arriving in Italy, with the intention to relax, enjoy good food, and drink wine by the pool, and it completely lived up to our expectations! The lovely hosts provided us with the best (sparkling) wines and homemade food. The room was small but comfortable, clean, quiet, and had a good shower. What we loved most was the amazing pool in a beautiful garden, with nice sun beds and a stunning view. We would recommend this place to anyone. The town of Venosa is charming and historic, offering delicious food. We recommend visiting Ganea; we had both lunch and the best pizza there.

I love it so much that I want to go back. The place is beautiful, the staff is amazing, the food was fantastic. You arrive and they serve you some wine to enjoy the beautiful view of the fields... They gave choice over the room, they were very helpful when we couldn't close the window. The staff was super friendly and make sure that we felt at home. The dinner was really nice, the breakfast was the best of our entire trip, and the location beautiful. We had no time to enjoy the pool, but it looked fantastic as well.

Lovely quite location we could explore from but also spend time at and use the pool, which was exceptional. Angelica’s cooking in the restaurant was like having a personal chef, really really good. Set in vine yard with lovely court yard for the rooms to add to it. Wine, pasta, oil all their own. We had a very restful time, but it was also easy to reach tourist sites like Matera. Local hill top villages to explore and were beautiful and very quiet. When can we go back?

5 stars for this fantastic winery stay! The ownders were incredibly kind and fun, the food was exceptional, the wine even better! I loved talking with the owners, the room and facilities were beautifully done and very clean. I wish I could have stayed longer. Parking is available, the pool area is lovely and very relaxing, the breakfast which is included in your stay is so delicious and there is nothing better than a glass of wine looking over the vines that produced them! Loved this accommodation!

Fantastic hosts who are super friendly and welcoming. Vineyard is beautiful with lovely accommodation and a great pool. Breakfast was excellent as was dinner at the restaurant. The wine is delicious.

Wow! What a fabulous unusual property, within the Caveoso District at Matera. Walking distance to everything. Wonderful space with a hot tub, comfortable, clean and our host was lovely and helpful. Definitely recommend for an authentic cave dwelling experience.

Perfect location coming down the stone steps inside the Sassi, Casa del Sole is a gem, full of history. A good continental breakfast is served with fruit, bread, ham, cheese, croissants, savoury pastries and cakes. Felice, our host entertained us with beautiful classical music on the piano. I was very happy with my bedroom - up a spiral staircase from the breakfast area - very large, quiet room with comfy double bed and bright en suite shower room. Felice, went above and beyond to help me get to Brindisi airport on a Sunday - even walking with me to the bus stop the day before to make sure I knew the route. Thank you Felice!

Amazing view of the old town from our balcony and even from the bedroom windows. Great location, walking distance from most things that is worth seeing and doing. Lots of restaurant options close by. Friendly staff with very good recommendations for restaurants. Be ready to walk lots and lots of stairs through the whole Matera old town, but the views are worth it. Wish we stayed 2 nights.

Casa del sole provides a beautiful view overlooking the old part of Matera, which truly adds to the whole experience. The room was comfortably accommodated for two adults and a child. The staff was accommodating and allowed us to leave our luggage. This is an excellent place for anyone visiting this part of the city :). The sweet breakfast was also an enjoyable addition to our stay.

Everything was great, the apartment was very clean, it looked exactly like the pictures and we had everything we needed. It felt like you were at home. The host was very helpful, we got a lot of recommendation about where to eat and what to visit. Very close to the city centre. Definitely would stay here again. Thank you for everything!

Perfect location (in a heart of historic center), amazing view from upper apartment. Very comfy beds (hard ones), amazing historical furnitures, very helpful staff. I was worried about the water pressure from the shower (because of location) but unnecessarily - very strong. And the owner play the piano which is just amazing :) If you stay in Matera totally recomment the place!

The place, people, and food were amazing! Everything was even nicer than we expected. We truly enjoyed our relaxing stay and would love to come back again. I would note that access to the pool and spa area isn’t included — it would be helpful to mention during the booking . Other than that, everything was wonderful. The rooftop pool on our terrace was very nice.

We were given an upgrade to a top floor room with balcony, jacuzzi and plenty of space. The room was well equipped and some small snacks were offered free of charge - thanks for the generosity! The location was ideal - within a short (literally 2-minute) walk to old Matera. The receptionist couldn't be any more helpful. She checked us in with a smile and gave us valuable suggestions of where to eat and routes to explore Matera on foot with the time we had available. On-street parking was available just outside but we were travelling off-season. Better check with the hotel during peak season. All considered, this is a great place to stay at! Great value for money.

This place was exceptional. We booked the top room with the Jacuzzi, which was perfect for a scorching hot day. The bedroom was bright, spacious, and comfortable, and the small terrace with the Jacuzzi, lush plants, chairs, and table provided a wonderful spot to unwind after a full day of exploring. The location was ideal—just a short walk to the main attractions, making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing.

Michele is a great host and manages a great B&B. The place is in a great location as it is located 5min walking from the old town and yet you can reach it by car and park around (blue zone is not that expensive). The room was cozy and clean, it has everything you may need :) as well, breakfast is great! Highly recommended!

From the moment we arrived at this stunning 5-star hotel in Matera, we felt that we are somewhere special. My Fiancé and I just got engaged, and we knew that this hotel will offer not only luxurious comfort but also a truly authentic Italian experience, during such a special time for us. Sant'Angelo Hotel - Matera was one of the best hotel experiences we've ever had! From the location, to the room, the balcony view, and especially the incredible staff who made our stay unforgettable!! This is a luxury resort complete with all the finest amenities and comforts anyone can ask for - exceptional property. We contacted the hotel a couple months in advance notifying them that we would be eloping in Matera and asked if they had any suggestions or could provide help with wedding vendors - flowers, hair, makeup, restaurant reservations, etc - and the service and attention we immediately received was overwhelming, led by our favorite Concierge - Giorgio! He immediately went to work coordinating a florist, suggesting photo shoot locations, arranged for the best table in the house the evening of our nuptials, room decorations that included rose petals, 40 votive candles, full bouquets on the balcony plus one in the room, champagne, cookies, and confetti for our big day!!! It was magical the way he pulled off the planning so effortlessly and elegantly making our wedding so so special! I want to give shout-outs to the rest of the staff who were so accommodating and helpful during our stay: Flavia, Esther, Katarina, and Alessandro. You were all fantastic!!! We stayed in Metera whilst travelling around Italy. We took a car to the hotel which did prove difficult because there is no parking, but once we had seen the reception staff they took over organising moving the cars (for a fee - obviously). Reception staff were very friendly and we were shown to our rooms. I would avoid this hotel and probably many in Metera if you are a bit dottery on your legs, as there are many uneven stairs and we did see one man fall and hurt himself. But if you are not this is probably one of the most unique places in the world. The hotel rooms were all in caves. We had four rooms and all were different but beautiful. I could not fault them. The porter carried our bags up flights of steps in the heat of the day, smiling all the way. If I had one complaint it would be general in all the hotels I stayed in. It would be a lack of bar facilities. Saying that they opened there bar on the second night and this over looked Metera and the views were stunning. Breakfast was vast and served in cave, it was lovely. I would love to return on day.

I stayed at Sant'Angelo Hotel for one night and I wouldn’t choose any other place for my stay in Matera! The hotel is located right in the heart of the old town, and from the moment I arrived, I felt completely immersed in the history of the city. The staff is incredibly welcoming and caring, always ready to help and ensure you have a pleasant stay. When we arrived, the driver Francesco was already waiting for us at the parking lot, ready to accompany us to the hotel. The first treat my partner and I received was a detailed explanation of the city map, which gave us a great first impression of Matera, along with a refreshing welcome drink. After that, they personally accompanied us to our room through a short walk, which made us feel truly special. We slept in a cave room with a private patio: an unforgettable experience that really made us feel connected to the past. I’m already looking forward to coming back and trying the experience of staying in a room with a view! Highly recommended!

Our room was located right above the lobby, with a window overlooking the magnificent view of the valley and the church. The room was very spacious and clean with all the amenities. Wi-Fi was not available in the room (only in the lobby area) , and some of the dishes in breakfast buffet were cold, so these were the minor downsides in this place. Also, we arrived in our rental car but the car park in the square in front of the hotel was completely full as it was Saturday - we had to park our car temporarily in a distant location we spotted on the narrow street of Sassi area. We moved our car at 06:30 am when most of the cars disappeared, so you have to be careful with the parking (there was no parking attendant). Nevertheless, the stay was magical and we would definitely love to go back there if we were to look for a comfy, clean room with a view of Sassi.

The location of H Basiliani is absolutely stunning, on the side of the gorge, in the middle of Matera's sassi area. There are cave dwellings (some renovated, some not) either side of the hotel buildings, and the breakfast terrace and some of the rooms (including ours) have panoramic views across the gorge at older caves on the other side. Our room was very large (split level, obviously meant for a family rather than just the two of us!), calm and comfortable. My only criticism is that the bathroom was about due for another coat of paint. Because the hotel is in the historic area, you cannot drive to it. You need to leave your car somewhere in the modern part of town (the hotel can advise on a choice of car-parks), and then call the hotel, who send their shuttle to collect you and your luggage. They also offered to shuttle us back to our car if we wanted to go out for the day, but there is enough in Matera (within walking/climbing distance) to keep you busy for a couple of days, so we didn't bother. I have read complaints about people waiting for the shuttle - this is only a small hotel, so there are only one or two vehicles - as long as you know there might be a wait, I don't see this as an issue. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and I can't think of a better location to stay in Matera! If this is your first visit to Matera, bring a satnav or a decent map. The street signs in the modern town are dreadful, and we spent nearly an hour driving round completely lost.

This hotel in my opinion is a hidden gem. We had the best 3 nights stay in this hotel.we loved the location and absolute dreamy views.There were plenty of restaurants etc within a short walking distance, but our location was not affected by the noise it was so quiet and relatively secluded. The free shuttle service which was super organised. our spotlessly clean cave bedroom was very big, freshly decorated, modern and equipped with hairdryer, kettle with coffee etc and tv and Wi Fi. Now the biggest selling point which I believe the hotel should shout about more was our bathroom. It was amazing, it had a Lage recessed cave bath, with a top of the range spa shower. The bath / spa shower was like a very large private cave hot tub which lit up in different glowing colours when you selected the controls. It felt very luxurious indeed. We enjoyed a nice glass of local wine while relaxing in it. In our own little spa. Breakfast was plentiful, tasty and of very good quality and we sat there on the balcony eating and enjoying the stunning views. The staff were very friendly and helpful.I would strongly recommend this hotel.we also booked an ape (tuk tuk) ride with a guide to see the local area sights without getting sore feet and it was amazing and highly recommended. If you like unique and an unforgettable experience, this is the place for you. I truly felt like I was in a movie. This isn't a "bells and whistles" place; this is stepping back in time and experiencing life sleeping in a very beautiful, immaculate and stylish cave. Basiliani is a cave hotel with all the amenities of modern day, yet entrenched in the history of a world where people actually lived in caves until the mid 1950s. What a true archeological treasure. Matera is beyond belief in its beauty and history. I was awe struck by its views, especially when lit up at night, and this hotel fit beautifully into the scenery. The beds were extremely comfortable, shower had great water pressure which I couldn't quite even understand how possible amongst the rocky landscape, and the air conditioner kept everything super comfortable. The included breakfast was delicious and had something for everyone, including vegetarians. Most of all, I have to say how lucky Basiliani Hotel is to have Roberto working with them. He is a true treasure, and one of the most kindest and caring people I have come across in a long time. Nothing was beyond him, and he genuinely wanted us to have the most enjoyable stay. I would go back in a heartbeat. What a wonderful place to stay. Highly recommend.

Well, where do we start. This hotel was fabulous, from the accommodation, staff / service and buffet breakfast. The rooms are quite unique, part carved into the stone in Matera where people lived in caves until the 1950's. The rooms have their own entry / exit and they boast plenty of space and comfort. They can organise parking for you locally and will even meet you at the parking area to help with bags and lead you to the hotel. The staff are excellent and very helpful. Special thanks to Onofrio, Roberto, Martina and Luchia for making our stay so very special. They were all so lovely to us as a family and particularly to our adult daughter who has learning disabilities. Buffet breakfast is simply superb. Loads of choice and both tasty and healthy with loads of fruit. Would we recommend this hotel.......yes, in a heartbeat. Well worth staying here as a base exploring Matera and surrounding areas. Matera is simply magical as a destination. Visit if you can. You will not be disappointed. It was even used as the backdrop to a Bond film. We will return - the area is so very different to other areas of Italy we have visited.

What an incredible place Sassi Di Matera is, and the Basiliani Hotel enriches the experience - our only regret is having just one night, I would recommend staying for two. Right from the start, communication from the hotel was friendly and efficient - they gave clear instructions on where to find a carpark in the new part of Matera, and picked us up from there (cars are limited in old Matera). The hotel is spread across various caves and has been restored skilfully and beautifully. The rooms have separate outdoor access. and have a modern stylish interior. Our room was huge, and the bathroom facilities were very cool including a separate glass shower at one end of the room! Breakfast was included in our reasonable room rate and it was plentiful and of a good quality. The hotel is located perfectly to wander and explore Sasso Caveoso and Sasso Barisano – the atmosphere and sights are truly special, and it is definitely worth walking over to the gorge opposite. There are good restaurants near the hotel, we really enjoyed Dulcis In Fundo. I thoroughly recommend this place – don’t just do a day trip, stay and savour!

One of the best places I’ve ever stayed! Impeccably designed interior - beautiful and clever, with local artefacts/art that really gave you an (elevated) sense of place. The room was perfectly sound proof and bed was super comfortable - would love those pillows in my own home! The chef owner was delightful and gave us great recommendations for Matera. The breakfast was delicious and set outside with views all around us. Many non-guests walking by were attracted by the setting and asked to have breakfast, but no - just for us! :) Truly couldn’t be happier with our stay at Ai Maestri and will definitely be back if we ever get the pleasure of returning to Matera.

The location couldn’t have been better as it was two minutes from two excellent restaurants - Oi Marì and Conzato and a six minute walk ( all uphill ) from a supermarket. The hotel was minimalist in the best sense of the word and integrated modern amenities and a beautiful old building seamlessly. MATERA itself is a marvel. I highly recommend taking a tour with ApeVito as he explained the history of the city in a way that you could only get with a native of this amazing place.

Very nice room, spacious and very clean! Everything in top shape inside the room and Hotel. Valeria is a great host with passion for what she does. She’s very helpful and has great suggestions for food, drinks and sightseeing! Just ask her. Breakfast was super fresh everyday and served directly on a nice terrace next to the Hotel. We enjoyed our stay very much and will definitely book here again if we come back to Matera!! Thanks for the great stay!

The location was fabulous. We could walk all over Matera from our room. The staff was wonderful, so helpful in helping us arrange off site parking and a shuttle in, and a tutor-tut ride - it was very convenient and we would have had a hard time doing that on our own. Best breakfast in Italy! We enjoyed the morning meal one the patio, very relaxed, absolutely delicious. I would do back there again, and highly recommend a stay there!

Everything about our stay in Ai Maestri was great. The owners Valeria and Nicola went above and beyond to make sure our stay was outstanding. The amount of thought and detail put into the room and building as a whole was impressive. The bed was very comfortable and clean. The room is equipped with everything you need for a short stay. Hope to return to Matera and Ai Maestri again in the future.

Very unique to be staying in an ancient cave dwelling. Modern appointments were very comfortable. The space was large and luxurious. I would not recommend getting a room here with a jacuzzi. The water made to room very humid. The tub water was not hot enough to enjoy. The circulation system was noisy and could not be turned off - it was on a timer. The tub and water smelled bad. Instead choose a room without a pool or a jacuzzi tub. Soaker tubs are much nicer.

Great place but difficult to find (see note at bottom if you want to avoid the 60 minutes it took me to find the place after arriving in the new town). One of the most beautiful hotels I have stayed at. Restored Palazzo next to the hill top Duomo in the Sassi with fantastic views over the old city and the canyons. Rooms were spacious, very tastefully decorated in keeping with the beauty of the building, and also up to date with thoughtful touches such as heated floors. Only minor ding with the hotel was breakfast, with no hot service, and where the service was a bit indifferent. But it was in a beautiful setting which helped compensate. To get to this fantastic location, you have to find the hotel. There is no signage anywhere except in front of the hotel. The ONLY way to get the hotel by car is to get to the piazza in front of the Sassi Duomo, and follow a narrow stone road 50 meters or so off the piazza, wherer the hotel will be on the left (Parking 20 Euro per day). GOOGLE MAPS DIRECTIONS ARE WRONG (as of December 2014)--you will not get to the hotel with its directions (and even if you correct for the fact it has you go the wrong way down a one way street it will leave you at the bottom of a hill maybe 200 steps and several turns below the hotel). Also beware digital and paper maps often don't distinguish clearly between pedestrian walkways with stairs from streets that can take cars.

We fell in love with the Palazzo Viceconte. The service & location were outstanding and our Junior Suite was spacious and elegant. The bathroom was very large and we even had a walk in closet. The view from our room was breathtaking of the Sassi and though we had a litle difficulty navigating to some of the restaurants suggested, we managed to do so and our dinners were lovely! We had only booked our room for two nights but asked to stay longer because we fell in love with the area and the Palazzo but unfortunately they were sold out. My husband had been unwell for a few days before arriving in Matera and after another day there, I asked the front desk to help make arrangements to see a local doctor. Within the hour, Mrs. Viceconte herself brought a doctor to our room. Since the doctor spoke no English and we spoke no Italian, she translated and soon we were on our way to the pharmacy with a prescription. When we checked out the next day, everyone inquired after my husband's health. They were like family after only a few days! We have been traveling for over five weeks now, mostly to new areas of Italy that we had not been - Matera was one of our absolute favorites and the Palazo Viceconte helped make it so!!

The Viceconte is a super elegant hotel very close to all of Matera's sights. It was easy to find once we programmed our GPS to walking mode, but would have been nearly impossible without that. Our room was sophisticated and stocked with 2 free water bottles, but it was very dim (our main floor room overlooked the courtyard and so did not have views). Another potential disadvantage for some people (not us) were the stone steps leading up to the bed on both sides. In the night, with the dark room, this could be a drawback for some people. The breakfast was fabulous and I fell in love with the strazzate cookies, which were the best (and for which I am having a hard time finding a recipe!). We loved walking to the breakfast room because that is how this place really felt like a palace to us. Very lovely place!

Palazzo Viceconte is one of the laxurist and attractive hotel in Matera. They are next to Matera Duomo, top of the hill, and they have very good scenery view from their terrace. I had stayed junior suit with lovery terrace, the room has butch tab, twin sink and double bed. One of the most remarkable event in the hotel was breakfast. The dining room located at first floor, when you go there with an elavater, you have to walk through 4 beautiful room. They are all small but really beautiful rooms with lots of fancy paintings. Also breakfast was fabulous one I have ever had. They don't have dinner service but lots of fancy restaurant at Matera, reasonable price in comparison with that of other Italian famous city like Florence, Venezia. When you want to go to Palazzo Viceconte from Alberobello like me, the traffic are terrible for Alberobello's

Stayed there for one night and cannot recommend this hotel more. Clean new hotel, with outdoor pool and loads of parking. Staff was very helpful and helped us to book a taxi to Matera historic centre. Everything was on time and punctual. And I can’t forget to mention exceptional breakfast with great selection of food of all varieties and exceptional coffee brought straight to our table.

All hotel services were perfect: parking, reception, breakfast, room, beds, pool. To histrical part of Matera is 15mins by car.

It’s a new hotel opened more than 15 months ago, and it’s located 10 min away from Matera by car. Room size follows standard and with balcony. The swimming pool is also very nice to relax.

The welcome by Donna Gina was warm and friendly - in fact she was a wonderful hostess. Gina could not do enough for us and could not have been better. Our room was modern, clean and fairly spacious. The bathroom was good with an excellent modern shower. For breakfast Gina was always present at the time we wanted and she would source anything we wanted. The kitchen and fridge were always available and were well stocked with teas, coffee and snacks. Although we seemed to be in a modern part of town on arrival, in fact we found we were only a short walk from the wonderful historic centre.

The private room with its bathroom in an apartment close to the historic center of the city. Very convenient location in a quiet place: 10 minutes walk to the city's old part, 25 minutes to the central train station. The room is small but comfortable and clean. The very friendly hostess met us near the apartment, showed us the apartments, told us how to get to the sights of the city, answered all our questions, and recommended where to eat deliciously. She also personally served a delicious breakfast in the morning. The property definitely deserves the highest value-for-money rating and the best recommendation.

Stefania had saved us a car park when we arrived at the agreed time. The location of the apartment is approximately a 5 minute walk from the edge of the main tourist area but it is quiet. The room is very comfortable and Stefania provides a lovely breakfast with local goodies provided. Stefania provided us with a map and highlighted the main attractions which were within walking distance. Stefania is a proud resident of Matera and as such is a strong ambassador for her unique but beautiful city.

We stayed for two nights at this B&B to visit the beautiful town of Matera. We had a great time! The rooms were really clean and have their own bathroom. Parking is free and really easy in the neighbourhood. The city center is really close. The host Bruna was the most friendly, making sure we had everything we needed for breakfast and showed us the great places to see on a map of Matera. Would highly recommandeer staying here!! Had the pleasure of staying at Donna Gina, driving up to the place looked a bit dodgy but once you went inside it was complete luxury. Our host Bruna was so beautiful and helpful, made you feel like family. All rooms have a private bathroom, it’s a shared kitchen filled with everything you need for your stay, beds and pillows were great and just a 5 min walk down to main square. I would highly recommend this property.

Wonderful warm welcome from Roberto - we felt at home immediately! The location is brilliant - practically ….as its 5’ from the autostrade junction and then just for the sheer beauty of the surroundings, nestled in a valley. After the noise of the autostrade the peace of the place along with the river gurgling at the foot of the valley is just wonderful . Quite astonishing. Immediately relaxing! the view from the property in all directions is beautiful The hotel has everything you need - rooms are a good size, simply decorated but well equipped with a good shower (& no shower curtain!) and a good working hairdryer, fridge and bedside lights. Many rooms have a terrace as well. Just fab. And then there’s the evening meal if you choose to eat at Palia’s .. absolutely wonderful . Cooked brilliantly by Roberto’s mum - the house anti pasti were spectacular - so varied and tasty . Pasta course was fab - sadly we had no room for secondi :-( Breakfast was wonderful - amazing selection of local made cakes PLUS Roberto asked is wed like meat or eggs or cheese as well ! Thank you It was exceptionally good value - both the hotel rate and the meal and the drinks. We were just passing through, a stop over, but what a find!! AND what a great place to stay for longer as there is lots to do locally - river based activities plus hiking etc We will definitely come back

We stayed for just one night, but it was truly unforgettable. The hotel is beautifully nestled in the hills of an Italian national park, surrounded by stunning nature and peaceful scenery. The atmosphere was incredibly warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. What made our stay exceptional was the staff — absolutely the best we’ve ever encountered. Genuinely kind, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. They made us feel right at home. Breakfast was delicious and entirely homemade, with fresh local ingredients that made all the difference. You can really taste the love and care in everything they do here. We only wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic and heartwarming experience in the Italian countryside!

I had a wonderful and relaxing visit to Laino Borgo. Palias is a lovely family hotel. I had a balcony where I could hear the river Loa and overlook the town. The mountains and river are definitely where to go to stay cool and relaxed in the middle of summer. I enjoyed delicious coffee and pastries for breakfast and had two excellent dinners. I can’t decide If I liked the cod or the gnocchi better! I finished dinner with this amazing pistachio gelato! The host went out of his way to help me and guide me to interesting local spots. He was above and beyond kind, patient, and generous. I can’t wait to tell other New Yorkers about this get away!

A cosy small hotel, running by a family. The amplacement is on a river side, you can enjoy the sound of water. Behind is a large parking place. Nearby you can walk on the cobble streets of a typical calabrese village, Laino Borgo, and admire „murales” (magnificent paintings on the old houses walls). Rooms are big enough, clean, with confortable beds. Breakfast is delicious, including home made cakes (yummy!!). Roberto, the owner, is a simpatic guy, we talked a lot and he gave us helpful informations about the area.

Facilities were fantastic. Beautiful, clean, and spacious. Parking on site. Restaurant exclusively for hotel guests. Authentic Calabrese food cooked by the owners. Very reasonable price. You should at least treat yourself with a bottle of local wine and antipasti. Our host, Roberto, was amazing, not only explained food and products used (local products only), but he also helped us plan the rest of our trip. Laino Borgo is truly a gem. Rafting trip was fun (class II and III), town is adorable (find the murals and the riverside walk).

We were warmly welcomed by the two sister owners. The guesthouse has been recently renovated and redecorated with restrained elegance and mindful of comfort. Bed king size, with comfortable mattress and fine Italian linen. The bathroom large with separate chromotherapy shower. The small balcony faced a narrow residential street where no motor traffic is allowed, so it’s quiet. In any case, the windows are soundproof. Don’t forget to admire the beautiful frescoes in the rooms and common guest spaces by a local artist, of the wildflowers of the Puglia. Location of the guesthouse is perfect. We arrived by car and had no difficulty finding the address. There is public covered parking across the street. The historic and archeological sites are steps away as are many excellent restaurants and bars. There is a small caffe also belonging to the guesthouse where they serve excellent coffee, pastries, etc. Here, in a private area reserved for the guests we had a delicious breakfast, abundant with sweet and savory delicacies typical of the region. The sisters ensured we were well looked after. Grazie mille for a most wonderful visit.

The property is very well located. The centre of Matera is literally two or three minutes' walk round the corner. There is a public car park right opposite and many restaurants close by. The room was lovely, very clean, with a modern bathroom and large shower (the shower itself is in the bedroom). As the rooms are at the rear of the building, they are very quiet at night. The bed was very comfortable. It was very unfortunate for the two sisters running the property that their father had died just before we arrived. They obviously had an awful lot of organising to do in advising people and arranging the funeral. They did all that very professionally, whilst still running the property and dealing with guests. We send them again our deepest sympathies. Breakfasts were taken in the building next door and offered a good selection of items.

Wow. What a find. We stayed for a week at Profumi di Primavera and couldn’t have enjoyed it more. It is a very rrecently refurbished property, typical Italian in that it looks nothing from the outside but when you get through the door it is really lovely. It is really well situated on the edge of the old part of town so nice and quiet but only 100m to beautiful old square which is full of great restaurants and has one of the best views of Matera. Also within 100m are a good supermarket and a pharmacist. The two ladies who run the bed and breakfast were absolutely lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful. They also own the cafe next door where breakfast is served which was plentiful tasty and fresh. I would highly recommend Matera and particularly Profumi di Primavera

Such a find - stayed here 3 nights as a family group of 6 - 4 rooms all on the one floor after 6 days of walking. Mirella and her sister Anna are so hospitable, pleasant and naturally are so delighted to have you as guest . It is a spotless accommodation, convenient to Sassi- almost impossible to get lost and the breakfast in their cafe next door is so well presented with everything you need. Suitcases stored for us on day of departure, not a problem and was convenient for us to walk to get shuttle bus to Bari airport.

The property is right on the edge of the old and the new. 3 minute walk put you in the middle of history and old town Matera. Breakfast was great. Something for everyone. Paid Parking is right across the street. The Cafe next door is quaint and excellent food. The staf went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and could enjoy the sites. The room is newly renovated and ultra modern. Upscale shower and bathroom, very comfortable bed and pillows. The wall murals make you feel at peace. The night life is peaceful but energetic.

The apartment was clean and looking like in the photos, renovated and modern look. Bathroom also was new nice and clean. The building where the apartment is located made us feel a bit skeptical before we saw the apartment, as it’s an older not so nice looking building, but actually the apartment was very nice and on the ground floor so that didn’t matter. I did appreciate a lot that in the kitchen there were some pastries and other items for breakfast. The location is very close, 5min walking distance from the entrance of the old town. We couldn’t find find a spot in the parking behind the building which was super full but a bit further down the road we found a public parking spot on the street for about 4€ total overnight which was an acceptable price.

Great location at the beginning of the Old Town of Matera. As we had a rental car, a great advantage for us was the free parking behind the building. Very kind hosts, ready to respond immediately despite a booking mistake. Modern, luxurious, vintage furniture throughout the apartment. Fully equipped kitchen with coffee machine and capsules available. The breakfast was also according to the description and our expectations.

Everything was perfect! The hostess was so helpful and kind, the breakfast was perfect. the loft was very pretty and had everything provided nothing was missing. It was very clean too. The location was good 15 minutes from the old city. Loved everything, we will definitely come back!

amazing space. felt like home away from home. extremely well equipped in the kitchen. beds very comfy. great shower and lovely toiletries. supermarket just down the hill, but there’s a little green grocers 2 mins down the road and a pizza place right next door.

The most cosy, the best place to stay with friends or family! Very clean and warm place! The apartment is placed near Matera centro . The hostess was very kind and helpful!

Fantastic location right next to the Cathedral in Matera. We were met by Simona, who could not have been more helpful. She also arranged a taxi from us to our bus stop at the end of our stay. The bed was very comfy, plenty of wardrobe space, and Simona provided us with an iron too, as we were off to a wedding in Matera. We would love to return one day! :-)

The location was fantastic, in the center of Matera connected to the cathedral. Our host, Simona was wonderful and made us feel incredibly welcome. She gave us fantastic recommendations for dinner and we had a lovely evening as a result. The balcony room was lovely, incredibly clean and had everything we needed.

This is a wonderful, beautifully maintained property right near the duomo (principal cathedral) and just above the famed sassi areas of Matera. My room was cozy, breakfasts were excellent and the woman who rents the property from its owners is exceedingly gracious and welcoming. I highly recommend this B&B!

Beautiful B&B in an old Palazzo right next to the Duomo with a lot of attractions and restaurants nearby. The rooms were furnished really stylish and we really enjoyed our stay there.

Wow! Perfect location with an amazing viewpoint from the balcony if you are lucky to get the room that has it. Brilliant host. Couldn’t have been a better stay.

Great B&B - Quiet, yet close to the main piazza. Our spacious room for very comfortable and clean. The shower was especially wonderful. Simona was very helpful to explain everything and how to find our way around. She was also very kind to book a taxi for us. There are only 3 suites with a spacious common area and very nice outdoor terrace. If you are visiting Matera with friends of family members, It is perfect! Also, the owner has a restaurant where we had a fabulous dinner and met her.

B&b semplice ma molto ordinato e pulito in posizione strategica per arrivare in auto nei pressi e poi visitare matera a piedi in comodità. La persona che gestisce la struttura é esternamente cordiale e disponibile e supporta l'organizzazione della permanenza con molte informazioni.

Wonderful welcoming hosts, excellent location with views from the terrace over the Sassi. Great location with restaurants and cafes close by. Matera is a magical place, so interesting and as the sun sets and the evening lights start appearing the whole town is magically transformed.

We really enjoyed our stay. Simona was extremely helpful and friendly. The place has a character, the location was great, we had our own little balcony where we could sit and enjoy the view. It felt like a home away from home.

Struttura nuova e confortevolissima in una location veramente ideale, a 200 metri dalla piazza centrale e dai Sassi ed in una zona centralissima ricca di bar, pizzerie, rosticcerie e ristoranti. Molti i posti auto disponibili in prossimità della struttura, alcuni anche non a pagamento. La camera in cui ho soggiornato era accogliente, dal design molto gradevole, decorata con gusto, silenziosissima e superpulita. Letto molto confortevole con scelta di cuscini. Il proprietario, affabile, ci ha fornito molti consigli per la nostra breve visita. Superconsigliato.

Clean well appointed air conditioned property in easy walking distance of the town centre and ancient section. Lots of information provided on arrival from tour guides to restaurants. We stayed on the ground floor next to the street door and weren’t disturbed at all. Good sized room, comfortable bed with tea, coffee and snacks provided. On street paid parking within east walking distance or you can take up the offer of secure parking nearby.

The property is perfectly located, everything is brand new and super clean. It is comfortable, modern, well located, absolutely perfect. The best part is the host, Gennaro, who allowed an early check in, greeted me, went out of his way to help with any requests, and even went to his place to find an adaptor that I needed, he is amazing. He also speaks perfect english which made things easier. Cant recommend enough, thanks!

Extremely nice accommodation and suberb location. We can warmly recommend. Also great for two friends or family as there was another double bed in the loft in it's own privacy. The room and excellent bathroom were spacious and coffee machine in the entrance was an extra bonus. Also kettle in the room and water and juice in the fridge. 10 points!!

Everything was great. We found a parking space on the street without any problems. We were met by a very friendly Mr. Gennaro, who explained everything and gave us lots of tips for sightseeing. The location is great, the rooms are spacious and very clean. I definitely highly recommend the accommodation.

Struttura nuova, pulita e confortevole (i cuscini erano altissimi ma appena glielo abbiamo chiesto ce li hanno subito cambiati), in ottima posizione, a piedi vicinissima al centro, parcheggio gratuito in strada sempre disponibile, colazione in 3 bar a scelta nella piazza centrale. Disponibile macchinetta caffè e bollitore the/tisane nell'entrata comune. Panificio Arena, vicino a casa nella piazza centrale, fa pizza alla pala fantastica (aperta anche a cena con tavoli) e croissant buonissimi.

Absolutely delightful host and his son. So accommodating. Suggested and booked us for dinner at a great restaurant with Lucan food and local wine. Coffee and biscuits available in room . Easy walk to restaurants and super market around the corner. This was all with very little English!!! Super quiet little village Beds were really comfy, air-conditioning and lovely bathrooms.

Domenico è una persona molto disponibile, cordiale e precisa. Abbiamo soggiornato per una notte e ci siamo trovati benissimo. L'alloggio ha tutti i comfort, di una pulizia impeccabile e in una zona silenziosa. Sotto il B&B c'è un forno che fa dei dolci buonissimi! Consigliatissima!
