The place is as majestic as it looks in pictures. We reserved the room with a private pool. From the decoration to the comfort, it exceeded expectations. You want to relax and go for a walk, a ride in a bike, see the animals on the farm, swim in the pool, enjoy the indoor spa (heated pool, sauna, sunroom, showers), or just pet the friendly dog... this is the place. If I could give it a 20/20 for cleanness, I would. This place is spotless clean!!!☆☆☆☆☆. The homemade food is amazing. You get the whole package. Loved it and great for families!!! Secluded and amazing.

The staff was super kind, we got a family room and our kids had a good time. We enjoy the spa, indoor swimming pool in a not so cold weather in Portugal/February...bike to see animals close to there...

Bedroom was comfortable, quiet and clean. The pool and relax zone was very cool. The breakfast was diverse and very good.

Home away from home. We stayed here with our 5-month-old beagle puppy, and we loved it!. Everyone was so nice and made us feel at home - especially lovely Elsa. Our puppy also had a great time, we went on hikes and explore the area. Very close to the nature and to the peace and quiet of Alentejo, during the day we refresh in the pool and during the night when it got colder we light the fire pit. 100% we are going to come back and recommend to friends and family (especially dog owners)

We stayed in the Vila and absolutely loved everything about it - it was spacious, beautifully furnished, the kitchen was well equipped and it has an amazing outdoor area including a small pool and a fireplace. Would definitely come back!

Plenty of pots to cook or you have dozens of restaurants within driving distance and some of them do takeaway. Massive rooms throughout the house, big beds and 2 bathrooms so no queuing. The staff was super friendly and helpful, a special thanks to Teresa for helping us with our requests. Will definitely be going back.

We met with the hosts as they are also Talha wine producers and own one of the Adegas. They are extremely friendly and available, and you immediately feel like you belong there. The property is a lovely place to wake up at, and to enjoy a nice breakfast (BYOBr) on the huge balcony.

I loved the decoration (like I would like to have it in my house, type of decoration)) - Room - The room was pretty spacious, even for 3 people in one room, so for 2 people, they will have more than enough space as well! I loved they had shower gel, shampoo and even hand/body cream from Rituals, they smelled really nice, so you don't need to worry abount bringing those in; - Bathroom was perfect and spacious as well; - Staff were nice; - Pool - Was amazing. Even though there were a few people at the pool, it did not feel crowded. The water in the pool was really nice and we also overheard people saying how nice the water felt (like with no chlorine feel to it); - Hotel is minutes away from restaurants and the centre os Serpa, so many places are within walkig distance; - Elevator - This hotel is very disabled-friendly because people in wheelchairs, for example, can access all areas of the hotel including the 1st floor :) so it was a very positive point for this hotel as well! Me and my friends really enjoyed our stary here and we would recommend it in a blink of an eye!

schöne ruhige Unterkunft in der man sich sofort wohlfühlt. Es gibt zwar kein Frühstück, man kann aber sehr gut in einem der Cafes frühstücken, oder sich selbst versorgen. Die Ausstattung der Küche ist hierfür eigentlich völlig ausreichend. Daher kein Grund deswegen diese Unterkunft nicht zu buchen. Der Ort selbst bietet alles was man braucht und ist außerhalb der Saison (Anfang Juni) durchaus entspannt. Fazit: Daumen hoch

Erro già stato in questo piccolo,hotel lo scorso anno e riconfermo il giudizio positivo, considerando il rapporto prezzo qualità. Essendo lalbergo strutturato in mini appartamenti, le camere sono dotate di cucina atthezzata, inoltre ognuna ha uno spazio esterno con lettini o un balcone con tavolini. Le spiagge sono a pochi minuti a piedi. Unica nota negativi il Wifi intermittente.

The room was clean, quiet, and plenty big, and we really liked the roomy size of the bathroom. The bed was firm and comfortable - just perfect. The AC worked fine. Really good shower, which we really appreciate. Breakfast was exceptional, with scrambled eggs, bacon, cereals, grains, raisins, yogurt, fresh fruit choices, many breads, croissants, and a huge selection of delicious cheeses, plus meats. Coffee machine to make whatever you'd want, but we only drink tea. They were so nice to find some herbal tea choices too! There were also jams and honey, and Im sure more that I haven't remembered. Very big and nice breakfast! There was a lovely view from our balcony too. Also, off-street parking in a lot across the street was great. We were very pleased with everything!

Great hotel, slightly off the beaten track but highly recommended if you plan a visit to Evora. Saves all the hassle of parking in Envro at any accomodation. Drive in morning, park on outside of town wall and then walk into Evora.

The most impeccable hotel we have ever visited in Portugal. Price and quality are different, quality is much higher than the price for the room. The room was very luxurious! Friendly staff. I didn’t expect to be in such a hotel in the small village of Vidigueira. I recommend to all!!!!

A father who accompanies you to an out of the way local fete and tells you about local customs.A surprise offer of a glass of rose while you're sunbathing poolside. In short, there's nothing they will not do to make your stay enjoyable. It went beyond nice accomodations into the realm of wonderful life experience. This is the first review I have ever taken the time to write but I had to because this hotel is so exceptional.

We had been all over Portugal and Spain by the time we found the Betica. Without any doubt, it was the most warm, inviting and special place we stayed during our two weeks. The family owners (Victor, Teresa and Pedro) and staff went out of their way to make us welcome without it seeming to be out of their way. The rooms were comfortable, private, quiet and attractive. The breakfast is more than enough to get you on your way for the day whether you plan to day trip somewhere, plan to walk the streets and alleys of Pias or just simply intend to read a book by the pool with the cats. We visited a couple of the wineries in the area and Teressa had kindly made the inquires and plans for us. Since they were going to celebrate a family birthday party in a nearby olive grove, they were again kind enough to invite us to join them for a lively afternoon that could not have felt more genuine and friendly. I honestly can't say enough about my new friends in Portugal and look forward to retuning to the Betica Hotel Rural to see them again.

We really enjoyed our one night stay here. The family who own the hotel were extremely welcoming and hospitable. Even drove us to a local cafe / restaurant and helped us to order our meal in the mid afternoon. Charming village. Good internal decor, including some local archeological finds. There is a delightful courtyard area with small pool, loungers and other seating areas - all surrounded by lovely plants. Very tranquil and perfect for reading, snoozing, chatting. Would happily book again and for longer next time - it's a real little gem. Prospective visitors should note that this hotel is in Pias - around 7 miles from Serpa.

The hotel was very nice and close to good restaurants. The closest town with attractions (Serpa) is 13km from the hotel. Proprietors provided a very good map of Serpa. Good breakfast with local breads and jams. Rates were very reasonable. Pool was nice on a hot day.

The hotel was in a small village and did not have a very impressive exterior but when you went through the front door, it.was amazing. The hotel was beautifully decorated with a very relaxing courtyard pool. The owners were most welcoming and friendly.

Travelling for work I must say that the stay exceeded all my expectations .The whole staff went above and beyond what was expected and were able to accomodate all my requests . The room and all common areas are very well kept and extremely clean .Excellent and plentiful breakfast ,freshly baked bread and several breakfast options to choose from .In future stays in Moura I will most definitely be coming back.Really enjoyed the experience!!!!

Food served by friendly, efficient staff on terrace overlooking the river,the best view for any restaurant in Mertola. Lovely pool,ideal after hikes in the area around this town.

This is a really friendly clean and comfortable hotel with great staff. The pool and sunshade area with the snack bar was really well maintained. A lovely surprise in reception! We also took the very reasonable boat trip they organised and it was well worth it. It has everything for a stay in beautiful Mértola.

The property has beautiful surroundings, there are a lot of activities to do (although we didn't do much), the pool is nice (both adult and kids' pool). The spa has an indoor pool that anyone can use as long as they book the time and use a swimming cap and that is good for off season stays when weather can be nos so pleasant outside. The club for the kids seemed quite dynamic, although my kids just wanted to stay around the pool. The little farm area is great for kids, and the feeding the animal's is a great moment for kids to be closer to them. There are some activities that are payed and looked great, however we only stayed for 2 days and were so tired that we just enjoyed the central area. Restaurant has plenty options for lunch, including kids menu, and for dinner although we have to book in advance the time for us to seat in, it was well organised and even when a lot of guests were in the room, there was always plenty food and all very tasty.

Loved that it’s in a vinegar, with access to hotel chain’s own winery and wines. The winery visit was short and very informative. We didn’t do the tasting because we already know the wines, so we just did our own Port tasting at the bar (no tastings available, have to visit the Porto location). Breakfast was delicious and included. The omelette station was great, excellent service. Had dinner both nights at the buffet but one night was great, the next the food was not hot. Otherwise, great property and staff. I would avoid summer, the kids are a bit out of control (they were in the adult pool instead of kid pool), so we only used it once. But the spa was nice and tranquil.

We really like this place. It's in the middle of nowhere with great pool and spa facilities. The children's entertainment is also great, with a lot of variation and the person in charge of the entertainment, Bolinha, did an amazing job getting everybody on board and excited.

Exceptional. High quality place. Ideal for a family. There are all the facilities for the kids and the relax of their parents. Two swimming pools. Very quiet area. Excellent breakfast and dinner. The wine is also very good. We will come back.

The kids (3 and 6 years old) were so, but so, HAPPY! They loved the pools (all 3), the Kids Club (NEP), feeding the animals, the food…they cried so much when we had to leave… As for us, the parents, we were able to rest…which is exactly what we were looking for!

From the moment we found this hotel, perfectly located within a cobbled shopping area hidden between little shops and restaurants, we fell in love with it. Such a pleasant change from the larger hotel chains, this place felt like staying with part of a family. The decor was filled with little memoirs of the lovely owners time growing up in Angola and it just felt so warm and inviting. Our room was perfect for purpose with a lovely little Juliet balcony that let the sun in and the sounds from the bustling street below. The breakfast, served every morning between 7:30 and 10:30 had a variety of continental treats and always cooked eggs available. Dina our lovely breakfast host was always very cheerful and helpful and always took time to talk with us and say hello. Such a cheerful soul and a great asset to the Hotel Bejense team. Susi on reception, the beautiful Susi, who also is a wonderful part of the team - thank you so much for putting up with our limited knowledge of the Portuguese language, without you we wouldn’t have known about the free parking and the lovely restaurant recommendations. We enjoyed our time so much in Beja and will definitely come back, but will also recommend it to anyone of our friends looking for a trip to the non touristic part of this beautiful country. Thank you for making our time here so memorable.

First. let me confess that I accidentally left some important documents at the hotel and the lovely family who run the place were marvelous in looking after and returning the documents. Apart from that, if you want something with quirky character, not corporate decor, then The Bejense is ideal. It's positioned in the heart of Beja, which is a jaded but lovely town with many hidden gems and a friendly welcome, ideal for roaming. The bed was the size of a small continent, spotless and well equipped with a good sized bathroom, and the atmosphere was very much of a family run home from home. Right, for breakfast I must own up to being rather greedy with the home made cakes and fresh rolls and strawberries, but there was plenty there for everybody. All in all, one of my favorite hotels, to which we will someday return.

Is great to have a break from the unpredictability of AirBnBs! ....good mattresses, desk in the bedroom, plenty of heat or AC, daily housekeeping, all the amenities needed in the bathroom, even heated towel bars!, nice common room, free expresó, bountiful buffet breakfast included in price of the room, other meals upon request, hosts are always there... and it’s often cheaper than an airBnB. A few more advantages over an AirBnB: located in the historic center of town, walking distance (even for seniors) of all the sites, best bakery/cafe (Luiz da Rocha) is two doors away, large and inexpensive women’s wear shop... one door away.

The location is near the bus stop. The hotel is in pedestrian road which is a plus, quiet, and plenty of restaurants, castle, stores to visit. Breakfast had a variety of delicious fruits, eggs, coffee. The owner and family were very nice to us. One night we sat at the entrance of hotel (tables and chair available) to have wine we bought at a store, and they brought us cheese and cold cuts as complementary service. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We recommend this place!

I've stayed in a lot of hotels over the years but for the blend of genuine staff warmth, quaintness, value for money, comfy bed and character, I'd have to put this one up near the top. Its location right in the cobblestoned centre of Beja just adds to the allure. If you are staying in Beja, itself a very nice little town, don't look any further.

We loved this hotel. Staff are wonderful, really genuine and helpful. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. The hotel is large, but we had the place almost to ourselves. Food amazing, breakfast outstanding. We ate in the bar area for one night, i have to say the pork and shrimp kebab was fabulous. Pool area outside is stunning great place to catch the sun, relax and have a dip. Good parking too. Its a 10 minute walk up the road to the Castle area, which is lovely. All in all a lovely hotel

Was a short stay for one kight only, it serves the purpose. We arrived late but still found a parking space in the hotel carpark (free). Breakfast was great as expected. You have a big supermarket 2min drive. In case you need to grab something. Didn’t have time to try the gym and weather wasn't the best to jump into the outdoors pool.

This conversion from a convent has been superbly done, and the result is an elegant hotel full of character and charm. The attractive front facade doesn’t mislead, nor does the wonderful courtyard at the rear which is a great place for a drink. The interior and our room were in keeping with the external impression, and were both comfortable and interesting. There is a tranquil and welcoming ambience, helped by the very personable and professional team. We had a very good breakfast, and the bar was reasonably priced - there are a lot of really nice communal areas for a relaxing drink especially in the corridors overlooking the courtyard. The location is quiet but convenient, all in all a lovely hotel.

As someone with a background in human resources, I genuinely admire the level of attentiveness and care he provided. If I had a local business, I wouldn't hesitate to hire him on the spot! Thanks to Daniel, our morning was a delight, featuring a delicious breakfast that kick-started our day. The hotel's location is unbeatable—just a short stroll away from a diverse array of restaurants. Moreover, it caters perfectly to cyclists, providing a secure indoor space to keep bicycles safe. We chose this hotel while completing our journey on the N2, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone embarking on the same adventure or simply looking for a welcoming place to stay in Castro Verde. You won’t be disappointed!

I have stayed here before so returned because it was very good previously. I was not disappointed returning again. The staff were very good and attentive when needed, but also left you to enjoy your own time. The facilities were very clean and functional. This isn't a 5 star hotel more 3 star but excellent value & location and the breakfast included is very good for all tastes, buffet style but unlimited food and drinks of good wholesome quality, a great start to the day. Bedroom was clean and practical and I mentioned a lack of a fridge previously and this visit I noted it was added, so they listen to feedback to improve also, which is very reassuring. I noted other guests included couples and family, though I travelled alone but everyone seemed happy and content, a good sign generally.

On arrival, the owner was super welcoming and insisted on taking our many heavy bags to our room so we could make it in time to a restaurant before closing. The hotel took great care to ensure that my gluten-free requirement was taken care of at breakfast. Some nice touches around the hotel included bottled water in the room and coffee stations around the landing. We had a room with a lovely balcony, and it offered a lovely view. I will be sure to return here and explore more the love little town and surrounding area.

For the price, everything exceeded expectations at the Hotel Vila Verde. The staff were particularly helpful and attentive. The breakfast included was more than just plain continental, with some cooked items, cereals, various pastries and they would even take requests for certain items too, unlimited juices and coffee, pleasant and not rushed, a lovely start to the days. Location was good for Castro Verde itself. It was street parking but even though busy I could park within one street away on each day.

We arrived early after a long day of cycle touring to be greeted warmly by the proprietor and receptionist, served cold orange juice, had our bikes stored securely and shown to our immaculate room before we hoped possible. This attention to our comfort, the cleanliness and modernity of the hotel and the excellent and generous breakfast made our short stay memorable. Highly recommended!

Hotel Melius has nice and comfortable rooms in a property that’s very close to the historic downtown. They have wines from local wineries in the front desk which was a nice surprise. Service from the staff was superior.

The holiday began at check-in with Inês, she was so friendly, so helpful, so professional, and so welcoming! Our room was incredible, we could see the sunset, we slept perfectly it was very quiet. The best surprise was poolside bingo with the Loulé chicas, was a really fun addition to the afternoon by the beautiful pool, and really made us remember our time there, thank you!

Wonderful green spaces, with lots of facilities and amenities (pool, bar, hammocks, a beautiful bird cage, sports, loungers, playgrounds, etc.). Also excellent location, with nearby beaches and restaurants. The apartment was very clean, beautifully decorated, and the balcony was perfect. Definitely exceeded our expectations!

Very good price (79€ for one night in an apartment), kitchen was well equipped, we had a few of the dunes, the pool and whirlpool and sauna are really nice as well and we had a great time playing billiard.

The breakfast is very good in terms of quality, but could have more variety and natural juices (like orange for example). The pool is also good, it’s not very big but can fit everyone, and it’s in the shadow which is good because it’s very hot in summer. Overall, it was good experience and we would like to repeat it.

Booked this hotel last minute because I was lost driving around Portugal. However, what a find!! The hotel is a super modern boutique hotel in beja. Not a whole lot around, but close to highways, gas, and grocery store. Hotel room was huge!!! And the window overlooking the city was a bonus. The city itself is pretty tiny, but they have some historical buildings to see and it’s worth walking around to see the sites of the windmill and municipal buildings. Bed was super comfy, hotel was quiet, and the interior was absolutely gorgeous! So impressed. The staff was by far the friendliest I have encountered. If I come to Portugal again, I will find a reason to stay here.

This is a great quality hotel. The staff were super attentative from the reception to the dinner service. The hotel is modern, clean, efficient and comfortable. Rooms & beds & showers etc were great. They stored our bicycles safely downstairs. Evening meal was superb (I had lamb chops !) and the staff really looked after us at dinner. Breakfast was also great & set us up for long day south.

Rooms are spacious, with air conditioning, which was very much needed. Beds are comfortable. They only provide one towel which means you need to ask reception if there is a 2nd person staying in the room. This is our second stay and will stay again as it is ideal after a long day driving from North to South.

From the moment you drive up the long driveway to Enigma, your first thoughts are that it’s a stunning hotel, an architect’s delight, with amazing views over the countryside. However there were some flaws of the hotel we noticed soon after entering the lobby. The hotel has so much potential to be more and do better than it was. Let me explain: No one was on the front desk at check in time and we were waiting for 10 minutes or so for someone to come greet us. The gentleman who did greet us was friendly and welcoming, however we found the whole service quite slow. There’s potential here to improve. The bedroom itself was large, with a good sized King Bed and a balcony with a view over the countryside. Some furnishings were a little dated and rusty however. There is potential to improve here. We visited the outdoor pool for the afternoon and this was nice, however the jacuzzi was closed and the pool itself seemed like it needed some better upkeep eg the pool ladder wasn’t properly secured and seemed broken. There’s potential to improve it here. We had a complimentary spa pass (via Expedia VIP Rewards), but this wasn’t offered to us at check in, so we didn’t see the spa. Breakfast the next morning was underwhelming to say the least. There was fruit, cereals, a few bits of charcuterie and cooked food to choose from, but the food itself lacked flavour. Also the coffee was undrinkable. All in all, this hotel has plenty of potential to be something greater than it is already.

Pros - beautiful quiet location in the mountains, easy to find. Car parking available on site. Rooms large, clean, bright with great balcony & sliding glass giving good views of the mountains. Pool outside & inside but need to book indoor pool & wear swim hat. Limited a la carte menu but food was very good. Bathroom & shower fantastic & bathtub near balcony was sublime.

The place is located perfectly not too far from the amazing beaches of South Portugal and yet isolated and very harmony and quiet. went running in morning in the beautiful trails nearby. The stuff was very professional and the bar at the pool is great, with the most perfect view of woods. My wife had a great massage and breakfast was a 5 stars with fresh juice and homwmade products. We shall definitely book again!

This is a lovely hotel with a beautiful view and pool. The rooms are spacious and clean. The hotel is a little isolated and you do have to drive to get to restaurants, beaches, town, but not very far. There is a restaurant and a bar and you get a fridge in your room.

A little off the beaten path but an amazing find. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. The dinner was absolutely fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed finding this quiet private spot to relax by the pool and refresh.

Craverial Farmhouse is a beautiful spot. Pools galore, lots of animals and vegetable gardens. Our apartment was in the back and had a private pool for just a few houses which was a huge bonus.

Absolutely perfect — an easy drive from Lisbon, a secluded location, gorgeous and spacious grounds that smell of pine and lavender, peaceful environment, beautiful pool areas, kind staff, incredible restaurant and a breakfast spread we couldn't get enough of — we absolutely loved everything about our stay.

Our second stay at Craveiral - we love it! Delicious food, friendly staff and great rooms and pool.

Beautiful and unique setting, with wonderful friendly staff and excellent attention to detail. Our little girl loved going to see the animals, and the warm indoor pool was perfect for her when the weather was poor one day. Breakfast was delicious with so much choice. It is clear that the whole place has been imagined with a lot of passion and love. We were upgraded from a studio to a 1-bedroom house which was a nice surprise! The accommodation was very spacious and well-appointed and we liked the zero waste toiletries provided. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, giving us ideas for nearby walking routes, activities, recipes for using produce you can pick on-site etc.

A tranquil retreat to connect with nature away from the touristy areas of Portugal and only a 1.5 hour drive from Algarve. We stayed in a lake view room with a balcony that allowed us to see stunning sunrises and flocks of birds. It was so relaxing to cool off on the balcony at night and in the morning. We thoroughly enjoyed the sunset view from the pool while swimming and/ or laying on a laying chair sipping on a cold beer. The hotel is surrounded by a charming garden where we were allowed to pick fruits from the trees. There is also a convenient and safe lake pool to swim in the pure lake water. We enjoyed the bountiful and delish breakfast on one of the terraces overlooking the lake. This would be an ideal place for writers and those looking to disconnect from daily life stressors and disruptions. Madelyn was a friendly, welcoming, responsive and accommodating host .

THE VIEW!!!!!!! The photos attached are real, that really is the view from our room. The wonderful hostess Madeline sent table settings to our room and we set up for our dinner on the tiny balcony. You really could not have gotten anything more romantic and more of a stunning view to watch the sun set. The food delivered was very bad snack bar food but that is all there is to get but this did not dampen our experience, as we bought a bottle of wine with us and sat together and watched the sunset. It was so quiet, peaceful and relaxing. The breakfast is very good, the hotel rooms are large and very clean with big pillows on the bed. The pool is also clean and with stunning views. You must stay here for one night. It is 100% worth it. Madeline is a warm and gracious host and she will go out of her way to make your stay as special as she can. If you don't mind windy mountains roads this is a wonderful locations to explore Portugal. You are 45 minutes from the coast and can explore quite a few cities if you don't mind a drive.

We loved the area, we loved the hotel. The owner, Madalena is super. Facilities, bed linen, swimming pool and gardens to a good standard. Breakfast excellent and standards of presentation good. Views stunning. But........ Wished we had taken supplies for suppers!

This is very cosy hotel with friendly staff, clean rooms and good breakfast. There is parking lots nearby. Certainly worth the price. We have a room with balcony, which was over small nice street. Receptionist was very friendly guy, he showed the parking and reparked his car to give us a parking lot.

This is a very centrally located hotel in Beja. The management was very helpful in helping us to park the car and to change our room to a balcony third floor unit although we were assigned a first floor at no cost. The balcony was superb! very adequate and good people there.

I loved the place, our room and the area! Great Staff

An ideal single night stop. Small hotel and fair value for money. Most friendly staff and I would stay there again if in the area.

The spa and the swimming pool were a plus and the area in general is a great place to go and relax. Really recommend it!

A great property, everything you need. Convivence of a restaurant on property was nice. This feels more like a standard US hotel if that's what you're looking for. Not so much cozy like some of the hostels and boutique accommodations in the area, but a good value nonetheless. All depends on what type of experience you're looking for. The pool area is beautiful, food was very good, staff was helpful and kind.

Arriving to the Hotel was very easy. We traveled by car, and had no issues finding the location. There is also a lot of parking space withing the hotel premises. The staff was great, giving us a very warm welcome and very fast check in process. The room was pleasant, clean and quiet, with a great balcony over the peaceful Alentejo landscape. I didn't use the pool, but it looked great too.

This modern, small hotel has bright, attractive public areas overlooking well maintained gardens and pools. Our bedroom on the top floor was clean, comfortable and had a small furnished balcony which overlooked a side road and the surrounding countryside. Rooms with even numbers face the road and odd numbers the garden and pool area? The peaceful breakfast room opened onto the the terracing surrounding the pool and the breakfast itself was simple but adequate with hot and cold options. All the staff were excellent and the whole place spotless. Very good value for money and convenient for access to the village.

Arrived and was met by Jorge Neves who's happy persona, cheerful smile and "couldn't do enough for us" attitude was fantastic, great start. Rooms were spacious, very clean, modern, with TV, wifi, balcony, air conditioning & towels. You'll not go hungry at breakfast there is plenty of variety. Swimming pool and surround is clean but can get super hot on the terrace large umbrellas are provided as are sun loungers. Pool towels are a little extra but won't break the bank. Would definitely return. Excellent location for bird watching as all the Hotspots for birds are within an hour maximum. Hotel is situated within easy walking distance of the town centre and restaurants.

This is now the only hotel in Castro Verde since the Villa Verde closed. It has 2 floors and no lift but we understand from a fellow guest that the disability access ground floor room is well fitted out. There is very little onsite parking but plenty on the street outside, and which is surprisingly quiet given that it is over the road from the hospital. The décor is a bit abstract but bright and cheerful with a high atrium. Our ensuite room was amply large enough and had a balcony with table and chairs, though too hot to use in the blazing sun. If you want shade in the afternoon and evening + being away from the road, ask for a room overlooking the pool. It had good free wifi and a/c, and the only English language TV news channel of the holiday. Breakfast was self service with a good selection in a large high ceilinged room overlooking the pool. There are no other meals but a bar is open all day and evening and we saw an odd local call in early for coffee. Guests seemed to be a mixture of businessmen and birdwatchers. The hotel is sited very near the Alentejo plains which are excellent for birding. The receptionist Jorge had excellent English and a very wide interest - we had a half hour discussion with him one day ranging over various ancient civilisations and many other things!

We stayed here for nearly a week as a base for a birdwatching trip in the area and it was ideal. The building is very stylish with the reception area and poolside both comfortable areas to relax with a cup of tea. The rooms are large and comfortable and the standard of cleaning is remarkable, as good as in any hotel we've ever stayed in. All the staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. We had a slight problem with the plug in the shower and this was solved immediately with no fuss. Recommended to anybody

Think I did this via Booking.com....anyway it was around £45 for the night with a very nice breakfast too. The place was clean, excellent air-con, free Wifi and a comfy very clean room. What's not to like! Very tempting pool round the back. Well worth it.

F or the guest's that want to cook, the kitchen is the best I had until know in all my travelling, is a fully equipped restaurant kitchen. For the type of stay, value for money was very good. In a next visit to Vila Nova de Milfontes, definitely will consider to stay here again.

Very nice staff, private bathroom, low price and clean. No noise from the street (but bad sound isolation from inside noises). Perfect for a night stop along the Rota Vicentina.

We couldent believe this was only a one star. weve stayed in much worse three stars. it was great . and great value. we had so much room and everything we needed in a nice setting. convenient to town and beaches. the staff were really helpfull and freindly and professional. we would recommend and come again. must get a better star rating, a 2 or 3 !!!! obrigada

Ground floor apartment, very cool inside considering there's no aircon, could have done with an oven however, the 2 hobs and microwave and toaster did just fine. Lovely shower and the bed plus sofa bed were very comfortable.

The room was clean and the wifi was working well, even on the balcony. The staff was very nice and helpful. The equipment was a bit old, but everything worked well. I would definitely recommend this accomodation.

The room was so beautiful & serene. The bathroom with shower was wonderful and luxurious. Every aspect was super luxurious and the pool deck was incredible with modern yet very comfortable furniture. The owner was so friendly and accommodating and served a fantastic, fresh breakfast complete with super juices, freshly baked cake and a variety of fruit. She even offered to pack lunch for hikers if arranged the night before. Everything was spotless. Being at the edge of the town the pool deck has a view over the unspoilt coastal landscapes with spectacular sunset views. I wish we could have stayed longer. We will be back!

We loved staying in “White Rose Boutique” The Hotel is very new and perfect located infront of the water , walking distance to the little center of the village. You have an breathtaking view. The welcome was so friendly and warm. The boutique Hotel is beautiful , thoughtful and with love decorated. You have a beautiful view from each side of the Hotel. The cherry on top is the roof top terrace on top of the Hotel with a pool and beautiful view to the ocean and you can watch the best sundowns … breathtaking. There is another cherry on top … the breakfast!!! Wow … that’s also made with so much love. There is nothing missing. Cereals , bread , scrambled eggs or if you wish different kind of eggs, yoghurt , fresh fruits also from the garden. Juices etc. We really loved to stay there and definitely come back and recommend to all of our friends etc. Thank you so much for everything! See you very soon !!!

White Rose is a thoughtfully conceived and tastefully decorated inn, propose-built by its wonderfully welcoming owner Sandra. Blending beautifully with the surrounding landscape, many of the rooms and the rooftop pool offer views of the coast, including the Fisherman’s Trail as it approaches Zambujeira do Mar. Expansive private outdoor spaces adjoining some of the rooms offer a relaxing refuge too appreciate these lovely views. The stay is complemented by well appointed rooms and a tasty breakfast.

We had an amazing time in Marias Guesthouse. The owner (Paulo) was very welcoming and made us feel right at home. The communication was easy, the room and communal area very clean and there was plenty of drinks you can buy from the kitchen. Water and tea are offered for free and you even get a complimentary shot of a local booze! Buying the drinks is based on a ‘trust’ basis, you pay for it on check out. Outside there is a courtyard, where breakfast is served and where you can have a drink in the afternoon. We had the room ‘Rainha De Leonor’ which was simply stunning. Big bed with a free standing bath tub in the room, with a separate bathroom with a shower, toilet and sink. There is an open upstairs area, with a couch to relax. We slept like babies, the bed is great and it’s super quiet and dark in the room. The location of the Guesthouse is perfect, very close to the castle and close to restaurants. Parking is 30 meters away and felt safe and secure. The absolute highlight was the breakfast. It was simply perfect, with fresh fruit, bread, lots of variety in cheeses, meat and marmelade and nice eggs and a ciabatta. Maybe one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had in a hotel / BnB. Thank you Paula and Maria(s), we will recommend your accommodation to everyone who will visit Beja.

Maria’s Guesthouse was right in the center of the charming town of Beja. We arrived a few hours early, called a number on the front door, and Maria came within a few minutes to open her door. The rooms were clean, quite and very comfortable. We relaxed on the courtyard patio then walked around to do some shopping. She and her son Paulo were excellent host and gave us recommendations for dinner that evening at Dom Dinis which was a wonderful Portuguese meal of assorted grilled beef and pork. Awoke the next morning to a beautiful breakfast prepared by Maria and her staff. Best breakfast we had during our 10 days in Portugal!

Amazing Guesthouse. Central location with parking 2 mins away. Pet friendly. A gorgeous place with beautiful rooms. Each bedroom a different theme associated to Beja history. The interior of the guesthouse is a feast of exquisite antiques with modern art and is a welcoming and lovingly renovated home. Mariana Alcoforado was our bedroom with a view of the castle. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic. Pastries, fresh fruits, fresh melon juice, yoghurt, cooked meats & cheeses, scrambled eggs and one of the most delicious pumpkin & nut preserves I’ve ever had home made by Paulo. Maria, Paulo & all the family were generous with their warm Portuguese hospitality and ready laughter. A gem of a place.

Maria's Guesthouse couldn't have been more charming. There was so much for the eyes to feast on. Lots of art, flowers, artifacts, beautiful textiles, etc. It had so much personality!! The location was perfect and parking was (after finding it) very close and easy. The room was spacious enough and immaculate! In the common area there were lots of little goodies laid out for the taking - yum! Most amazing was the breakfast. WOW, WOW, WOW. So much effort and love put into it. We did not need to eat for the rest of the day. Thank you for a lovely memory!

Although we had read the many extremely positive reviews before arriving, we were still very surprised at how lovely the place is. As said in those earlier reviews, this is somewhere to come for peace, high quality accommodation and lovely views. The hosts and their team are all friendly, polite and very welcoming. Every aspect of the modern and fresh accommodation has been well-thought through to ensure comfort and a relaxing stay. For us, the large bed with excellent bedding, big terrace overlooking a wide landscape (plus a roof one!), coffee machine, small fridge and bathroom with ample surface area (at last!) and hanging space were big positives. The pool area is stunning with quality wooden loungers and cushions. Breakfast was very pleasant outside and included eggs, bacon, plenty of fresh fruit and croissant, rolls etc. There were good choices for lunch and evening meals and a wide selection of wines - all at very reasonable prices. No need to venture out searching for somewhere and hoping it will be OK. We had been travelling for over 2 weeks around Portugal and needed some relaxation before returning to home routine. This was the perfect place for this. We will return to enjoy the walks and explore the area. In summary, this wonderful place is run by people who have achieved what so few do - a superb place to stay with great attention to detail and a warm welcome.

Picked for its strong reviews, my wife and I stayed Friday to Sunday. The location is wonderful, Quiet, on a hill, with far reaching views. We found the staff to be friendly and relaxed. The food was universally excellent, from a "more than sufficient" breakfast to simple but very well prepared dinners. The site itself benefits from beautifully kept gardens - the highlight for us, The pool looked great. Bit chilly in March! The lodges are exceptionally well made, and tastefully furnished. The bed was very comfortable, and it was lovely to have our own terrace overlooking the river in the valley below. The grounds too are extensive with plenty of room to roam.

Wonderful place, amazing view around, customer super friendly stuff, dinners are delicious, the rooms are more like a small house with your own balcony and roof terrace (with amazing view as I mentioned before). Additionally hotel area have a huge different plants in the territory and it's very beautiful (everyday men fixing everything and make it more beautiful) Keep in mind that we was in winter time, so really can't enjoy the swimming pool and hotter weather) Summarizing, it was a delicious point of our trip in the south of Portugal and if can visit it - stay for a few days! Two days for us was not enough)

We loved everything! we came here for 5 days for our mini moon after getting married in Leiria, and it was everything we had hoped for. Calm, relaxing, amazing apartment with a huge balcony and the most incredible views, a spotless and beautiful infinity pool, and the most incredible onsight restaurant with the best food we have had the pleasure of eating in Alentejo. There was definitely no need to look elsewhere for food!! We had the best time!! Filippe even gave us a bottle of sparkling wine at the end of our stay for our mini moon.

100% everything!! The photos nor description accurately capture the beauty and energy of this magical place. Every detail is thoughtful and meticulous yet it is super relaxing and stunning. The love and work Filip and Luther have put in to create this is outstanding. From the pool to the rooms, the gorgeous landscaping to the breakfast and dinners, the horses, peace and beauty and scenery - it is stunning. if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of life, come here!! Words are not enough to describe the owner, João, he was amazing from when we got in till we left. An extremely classy way of receiving guests, breakfast was beautiful and taken care into details. He is well mannered man and you can see it from everything he does and buys : 1. he waited for us to check-in 2. he treated us with beers and fresh fruit from his yard, at the pool as soon as we arrived 3. he escorted us to an amazing restaurant 4. he prepared us fresh scrambled eggs for breakfast (decorated with flowers) All of this in 24 hours! We will go back for sure ;)

The building is perfectly decorated with a lot of taste and super clean. The room i stayed in was big and had all we needed. The garden has a beautiful pool and a lot of space with plants and trees all around and pretty cats as well. But more than anything the owner is a really good host. He welcomed us very warmly and made us feel comfortable since the moment we arrived. He took care of us, gave us tips about places to eat, where to buy olive oil, which winery to go to and at the end he also gave us some fresh eggs from his yard. The breakfast was very good as well. Ah and we could take our dog as well. The place is beautiful and perfect to relax and enjoy the surrounding areas.

we arrived about 30 minutes early and was welcomed by the owner who was absolutely fantastic. He had a good command of English and made us feel very welcome indeed. there was free fruit and coffee should you wish to have it. The whole place was spotless and we had a good nights sleep in the quiet surroundings. There was a wonderful pool but we didn’t use it due to other commitments. The breakfast the following day was probably the best we have seen on this journey so far and was a picture to behold. The quality was great and of excellent quality. I can only say the whole experience was first class and would fully recommend it my fellow British travellers.

This was a lovely rural setting just outside the town. Jose Luis and Sandra are super hosts and go above and beyond to help their guests. A place where you can relax after a long days drive in peace and safety knowing your hosts will go out of their way to look after you. In summer that pool will be very popular and the stay could easily become longer which we would recommend. Parking no problem and just a few minutes drive to town for an evening meal. Thank you Jose Luise and Sandra for your kindness.

Jose Luis is an excepcional hosts and his home is a wonderful place, he, personally, takes care of everything and keeps his home and garden extremely tidy and well organized! Every room as WC incorporated and the common areas are comfortable and spacious. The garden and swimming pool fantastics!! I stayed alone, and my stay was too short but I look forward to come back soon with my family. Many thanks José Luis!!

This guest house was a big surprise its modest front hides a really lovely space. The room we had was quite small with a mezzanine bed,that said it was very comfortable. The grounds and communal areas are lovely. The breakfast is beautifully prepared and presented, so much more interesting than the conventional hotel buffet. The pool looked good but we didn’t try it. The very central location makes it an excellent base to explore the city. Highly recommended.

There is a great sense of relaxation in this house. The minimalist design of this old beautiful house is a pure pleasure. It’s as if the world stops behind those doors and it is a nice feeling . The simple but beautiful garden has a calming peaceful feel ans the small pool is a great plus. Breakfast is wonderful.

The house is like your grandma’s place, even the bathrooms are just like at home. There’s a fireplace that the owner puts on every night, and a cozy couch right in front. The owner keeps putting a lot of thought into this place. The whole place is practically and functionally designed, for example you get a plug, plus two fast charging usb ports and a little cork shelf next to each bed. There is a system as to where left behind food is stored for new guests. So good organisation again with as little waste as possible. The kitchen is super equipped (again like at home). The trash is recycled. There is a washing machine, a dryer and multiple drying racks. There is coffee, tea, and water. What more can you wish for. The owner is very dedicated, visibly puts a lot of effort into it, offers help with anything and fixes issues, which may arise, asap.

Diogo has curated such a lovely hostel, one of my favourites on the trail. Really did feel like a second home on arrival, he and his team have thought of everything, even for the top bunk with outlets available and a light. He even asked for feedback at the end on how to improve the hostel experience, which I thought was really cool. There is a complimentary washer and dryer, which was really needed after sweating on the trail for multiple days. That being said do the laundry earlier in your arrival so it has time to dry, as the dryer isn't the strongest ( as he told everyone upon arrival), to ensure your clothes are dry the next day.

Diogo, Ms Khaleesi and their three little dragons offer probably the warmest home-away-from-home experience one can possibly wish for. From his first "Welcome home!" as I had stepped through the door, Diogo made sure I felt welcome and well taken care of throughout my extended stay. Aside from the attentive hosts, nothing beats the unlimited washer-drier availability, with separate shoe drier gadget and a mud cleaner available in case you get caught by a storm along the hike. A warm fireplace and additional blankets take care of the winter chill, not to mention a complimentary cup of local wine, hot tub showers, and a fully equipped kitchen. I could not recommend this place more.

The hostel is a beautiful house which keeps the feeling of home. There are facilities to wash and dry clothes and a fully stocked kitchen at no extra cost. The owner was really welcoming and took us on a short tour up to the cliffs and gave us a good understanding of the local area. The living room has plenty of books, games, yoga equipment and a TV. Overall it was a clean and comfortable stay. Thank you for a great stay! I've stayed in lots of hostels and this was definitely one of the most welcoming I've been to.

One of the best places I have ever stayed. We had a private room in small owner-run hostel with amazing facilities including use of full kitchen, living area with lit fireplace (warm), and washing machine. The owner/host is super friendly and helpful and lives with his family upstairs so is available to drop off your bags early or attend to your needs. He recommended a neighborhood restaurant where we had a delicious seafood rice. He offers guests a free glass of local wine and provides coffee and tea (to make your own whenever). Location is near the Rota Vincentina trail.

Everything! Fabulous location in the heart of the beautiful old town, on a very quiet, almost unused road. The whole place was immaculate, & beautifully kept. The staff were kind, thoughtful & nothing was too much trouble. We had one of the top floor rooms with a spectacular view of the estuary & coastline for miles, totally worth the extra cost. The breakfast was perfect, with a full array of fruit, bread, eggs, ham, cheese & pastries. Just a minutes walk from gorgeous restaurants & very close to the beautiful beach. One of the most stunning beach side towns, & absolutely 5 star accommodation. Cannot recommend enough, would love to go back!

We had such a lovely, relaxing stay at Guarda Rios. The rooms are clean, light and airy. Our bathroom was generously sized with a great shower. The hotel is well located and close to the beaches. They have beach parasols that you can borrow, which saved us buying one. There’s a large variety of great restaurants nearby. Breakfast is a highlight - fruit, eggs, cereals, bread, pastries, meat and cheeses. The breakfast room is really pretty and you can sit indoors or out. Maria and the whole team are so welcoming and kind. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel.

This is a great hotel. We stayed for two nights and got to relax and mill about the town for our first part of our trip in Portugal. The staff is lovely and will give suggestions on where to go and where to eat. You can walk everyplace in the town and to the beaches from the hotel but it is very quiet and you will get a good night sleep. There is no parking, but there is a free lot right behind the hotel that is easy. The town is very nice and lots of great restaurants and shops.

The property is really nice just like the photos, the room was very comfortable with a couch, excellent air conditioning and a mini fridge, definitely book one with a balcony or outdoor space if you can, it was so relaxing! The bathroom and shower can’t be beat, the water pressure was excellent. There is free parking a block away so that’s no worry if you come by car. You can walk to the beach and everything in town. The breakfast was very good, staff were friendly and I would absolutely recommend!

Prior reviewers have commented positively on the great location, super clean and comfortable rooms, knowledgeable staff, great breakfast. I agree with all of those. Here are a few more I would add: the central light in the room was terrific for reading; the towels were large and lovely to use; the shower (room #1) was stunning with excellent water pressure. I also believe this hotel gets it right when it comes to a perfect ambiance for a beach hotel: not too fussy and not too rustic. We were impressed and recommend it enthusiastically.

Azul is located just steps from the Rota Vincentina trail so it is perfect for hikers. It is spotlessly clean and our hot shower after a chilly, rainy and windy day of hiking was superb. Breakfast was generous and the offer to make picnic lunches (for a charge) for those interested. We didn't try only because we had already stopped at the mercado for our next day's lunch. The owner was on site, working and clearly invested in the success of her business.

Azul was a wonderful place to stay, in a beautiful town. The room was large, spotless, quiet, comfortable, and air conditioned. We also loved the small balcony. There was ample storage, a large modern bathroom, and a mini-fridge in the room. Sheets and towels were new, crisp and clean. Breakfast was buffet-style, with lots of choices: yogurt, bread, jams, cereal, coffee, juice, milk, cakes, cheese and meat. We highly recommend this guest house!

This place is way better than the pictures. It might have been the biggest room we had the whole trip with a little balcony off the back and you could see the ocean. There’s a little courtyard to hang out in and it’s just a 5 minute walk to all the restaurants. One of the most beautiful beaches I’ve seen. Such a quaint, quiet town!

Our room was spacious and clean with large comfortable bed, lovely fresh decor and space to store bags. We had a lovely spacious balcony too. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Breakfast included was fantastic. lots of choice of fruit, yoghurt, bread, cake, cheese, ham and even hot option of egg amd bacon. We were just sad we were only staying one night!

The hotel is very centrally located and a short walk to bars and restaurants. I will definitely stay at this hotel again. Highly recommend it.

Wonderful little place in a cute Alentejo village. The Casa is actually a refurbished former shoemakers' workshop, with lots of exposed stone walls and the old stone table in the workshop now serving as a buffet for the delicious breakfast menu. Marta at reception is a great and attentive host, and the rooms are beautiful and spacious. Great stopover spot or base for a few days of explorations into the surrounding hills and villages.

We were communicating with the host/staff before our arrival and they kept us updated about arrival time, check in, etc. This clearly showed us that we weren't being treated as simply another guest, there was this attention to making sure we were welcome. The room was quite nice, very clean and incorporating really well a "rustic" look. The common areas were also very beautiful and welcoming. Location was perfect for us.

The hosts were very nice. We arrived around mid night and with kids and the manager was kind and super helpful. The rooms are simple but with very good taste and confortable. Breakfast is homemade and continental but has everything you need. The space is very cosy and modern-traditional. We were very happy with this stay. We will come back!

The property was incredibly clean and modern. An old building but very tastefully renovated, with excellent material choices. The host/owner Ricardo was also incredibly polite and easy to communicate with and made us feel incredibly welcome before we even arrived at the property. Every hotel/guest house can learn a thing or two from Casa de Igrejja. Highly recommended!

This is one of the best places I've ever stayed in. The room was wonderful with a private balcony. The swimming pool of the hotel is beautiful with a large grass garden overlooking the sea. There is an easy stairway to the beach. The beach itself is almost empty compared to the other beaches in the area. Great breakfast as well! I'll be back and I encourage everyone to book!

We loved staying in this beautiful home designed by one of Frank Lloyd Wright's students for the beautiful Amalia Rodrigues. The property is right over the ocean! It was dreamy with a pool, beautiful house and beach access to hike the fisherman's trail. So peaceful and comfortable listening to Amalia's music as we ate breakfast and had our first nights dinner in the dining room.

The property had a beautiful pool area with lovely sea views, very natural - not another building in sight. The house itself is full of character and with great design from the 1960s onwards - beautiful wood, paintings and photos of Amalia - the living/dining area is a lovely large space. All very peaceful and relaxed.

The setting is stunning, with the pool overlooking such a beautiful, secluded beach. The access to the beach is made directly from the property which makes it super easy to visit.

This is the house of the fado singer Amalia Rodriguez. Everything in the house reminds of her. The house, the furniture and the objects are original and celebrate Amalia. The house is located very close to a cliff, leading to the Amalia beach. The view is breath-taking and the beach is reachable through a walk down the stairs. The swimming pool and the garden around it are well kept and the water is at room temperature. The house has a lot of character and it is fascinating. The room we were given was adhorable, even if it was not one of the rooms overlooking the ocean. The host, Felipe, was very welcoming and his stories about the house and Amalia were fascinating. We enjoyed our stay here, it was an honour to stay at Amalia's house. We will surely come back

Lots of open space with nature all around. It was more than just a place to stay. It felt being at home. Resembles nothing like a comercial hotel. Nice dinning area for breakfasts and dinners in a natural setting, they also have family or lounging area to sit and relax or play games. You need to preorder your breakfast the night before so there is no extra waste of food, concept we really appreciated. Everything was fresh and brought to the table on a tray. Room was very spacious, basic furniture but authentic and comfortable. You can see the emphasis on connecting to nature and simplicity. Bathroom had all necessary amenities except plastic and unnecessary stuff, which was nice to see. They did have electric mosquito repellents in the rooms. Only comment I would make is need for an anti-slip mat for the shower. Shower floor gets slippery when wet. Also I am not sure how hot it gets if going in summer months as the rooms have no AC or fans. Check with property. We didn’t need it as the weather was still cool.

We stayed for a whole week in July. The place is very peaceful, away from urban chaos, yet close enough to nearby cities of Sines, Vila Nova de Mil Fontes and Porto Covo. Beaches are about 15 minutes away. Rooms are comfortable with air conditioning and wi-fi available. Breakfast is well served and there's also dinner if you want to for only 20€. The facilites are amazing. Super tasteful and well decorated. There's a big pool with nice sun exposure. All in all, we loved to stay here and will definitely be coming back.

You imagine yourself in an oasis of tranquility. It is beautifully landscaped with flower beds. In the back of the grounds, donkeys and ostriches welcomes you. The pool lays on the perfect spot and gives you a wide view of the area. I recommend everyone to have dinner at the hotel, beautiful simple dishes and a fantastic host. Great honesty bar concept. We will come back for sure.

We thoroughly ended the rural setting and spaciousness of Três Marias. The sauna and pool are well maintained and convenient and the shared lounge and dining area are delightful. The meals we had at Três Marias were the best we had during our entire stay. We particularly appreciated the welcoming and casual atmosphere created by the staff. They were all super friendly and helpful!

The location is beautiful, with a nice view and a swimming pool. The rooms are big, clean and cosy. The shared area has a nice atmosphere and can be used to hang out or work. The outside area is big with multiple places to hang out (not just the swimming pool), so it really feels like a quiet vacation away from everything. Would love to visit again. It's a lovely place. The super welcoming staff gave us a little tour and lots of useful information about places to eat in the nearby village (we took their recommendations—fab!). There is a very relaxed feeling to the place, with lovely touches like hammocks in the gardens and bikes you can use to get down the track to the village. Nice pool area, and the pool was clean and warm. It's clear the staff take a lot of pride in their work, and the hotel - I'll definitely stay here again, and for longer, then next time we're in Portugal.

The care and attention to every detail was superb. For example, the sheets on the bed were so smooth and fine, the housecoats and slippers were pristine and cozy and the decor was beautiful and welcoming. The staff were incredibly professional and friendly. The grounds with the pretty swimming pool and the gorgeous patios were very relaxing and so enjoyable. It was a pleasure to sample the fresh lemons from the trees beside our deck when we made meals in our kitchen. The breakfasts in the main lodge were delicious and had such variety from freshly cut fruit cups to several breads and desserts, eggs, cheese and bacon. My husband loved that there was ample parking and bicycles that we rode into little Sao Luis for groceries. We were spoiled and pampered during our stay.

The property as a whole as well as the rooms were very clean which is really important to us. The staff were so friendly and nice. For us, the location was great as it was really peaceful. Not only is there a pool at the property, but also tennis court-you can borrow the rackets and balls. There is a path next to the property on which you can take a walk to a nearby village. There is not a lot of restaurants in the village, but we dined in one of them and had delicious meals for fair price. Immediatelly after our arrival we decided to prolong our stay for additional two days.

Naturarte Campo is a wonderful rural tourism accommodation! All the amenities are included (wonderful and tasty breakfast, swimming pool, tenis court). The rooms are located next to all services. The rooms are spacious and wonderfuly decorated. In fact, there are pieces of art distrubuted by all rooms, common areas included. The old art pieces are really well integrated in the renewed areas. The staff is really friendly and provides great tips on restaurants and activities to do in the area. Our particular thank you to Ana, Sónia and António for being so welcoming and nice! A really charming place to stay nearby Vila Nova de Milfontes! I intend to come back☀️.

The winery was a relaxing atmosphere at a beautiful location . The facility was amazing and the surrounding scenery was peaceful and amazing. Our 2 bedroom apartment was perfect for our family. The pool was winderful and hiking around the vineyards peaceful. The food was exceptional but the friendly and accommodating staff was the highlight of our trip!!! Herdade Do Sobroso is an absolutely magical place. Nestled in the vineyards, it’s an idyllic and peaceful location for rest and relaxation. The views are outstanding, the staff is incredibly helpful, the farm-to-table food is delicious. Whether swimming in the infinity pool or soaking in the landscape, Herdade Do Sobroso is a true gem.

Everything…the ambience, setting, staff, food ( which was particularly good, showing off local cuisine) and room ( particularly the terrace), and the pool. Wow. This was hands down my most relaxing night during my trip to Portugal. This building consists of ~4 private rooms with their own bathroom and both the building and the neighborhood were very quiet whenever I was in my room. When I walked into my room, I was welcomed by a pristine looking room with fresh cookies and a mini fridge (as well as a kitten meowing outside my window!). The host was very kind and reached out by message to see if I needed anything and also shared some recommendations on where to eat breakfast the following day. Highly recommend staying here if you are in need of resetting and enjoying a peaceful night. Would come back again in a heartbeat.

The place was really very pleasantly quiet, as was the accommodation. The accommodation only had a few rooms, was not directly on the street and was nice and quiet. It was clean and comfortable. As there was no breakfast at the accommodation, the host made a few recommendations, including for dinner. So really a nice place to stay if you want to enjoy some peace and quiet. Definitely great value for money. I would love to come back. The village and the small beach were not very busy. I found it to be a very cozy place. A nice choice for solo travelers.

It's located in a quiet and peaceful spot and super convenient when finishing the fisherman's trail. Our host Ana was the sweetest and so helpful for recommendations. I loved this place, from the beginning to the end. Everything went so smoothly! Ana is a very helpfull and concerned host. She makes you feel so welcome! The accommodation is very close to town, but just outside so it s very quiet. But in 5 minutes you're in the centre of Zambojeira do Mar. The room is so nice and clean! Nice, comfortable beds, great airco. You can easily darken the room en it s so quiet. Outside the room there were Coffee and thea facility's.

A lovely, spacious, clean room and bathroom that was very well received by us after our first day of a big hike. The place was modern and cosy, the access was easy via codes and key boxes, and the host was willing to help us by recommending places to eat. We had a great night's sleep and enjoyed our stay.

The pool is an infinity pool and is a perfect place to relax and unwind, taking in the scenery. There are lots of seating areas to enjoy around the property. We paid for breakfast as an extra and were very happy… fresh fruit, yogurt, bred, cheese, ham, toast, eggs, juice, coffee… you’re spoiled for choice. All served at your table. Cereals are also on offer. And all for only €9 per person. I have already recommended this awesome find to a friend. Value for money cannot be matched!

We had a beautiful view of the river, the old Town and Castle from our room. The room was perfect for our stay. We had a very clean and nice room with privat bathroom with huge shower and shower gel/shampoo and hairdryer. A little fridge, kettle, coffee, tea were available in the room. There were an outside pool. I highly reccomend it. 🙂

As a stop over on a Malaga to Lisbon cycle ride is was great. Very friendly and helpful owners, lovely breakfast, and a cool swimming pool to soak our aching legs. Evening meal at a basic but friendly restaurant 10 mins walk away was excellent value for money and no nonsense food. Thanks for a lovely stay. 😀

A magic place indeed. It's in the middle of nowhere, where I was chilling at the pool, working and listening to the birds singing. Wow! The view of the old town, a castle and the river from the room is astonishing. The room itself was ok, it was relatively clean, so I don't have any complaints actually. The wifi was fast, the staff was very kind and responsive. The breakfast was decent. There is a nice little restaurant 5 minutes walk and a few others in the town you can easily ride to in 2-3 minutes or even walk for 20 minutes. Overall, the vibe of the place is great. I would like to go there again somehow.

Surrounded by orange trees and farms. Breakfast was more than sufficient to start a day. You can travel around to many cute beaches (we did by car), or chill at the pool and lake directly at the venue if you feel like a day break. In the evening we always grilled something we buy at the market or a supermarket nearby. Very friendly owners and stuff. Rooms and cottages are available, rooms are a bit more spacious, cottages more intimate. Has a small indoor pool and spacey evening time location with small kitchen, board games/reading location and a billiard table.

Stunning!! So relaxing and tranquil. Pools were lovely. Everything was so well kept. We stayed in a bungalow and it was perfect. All the staff are really friendly. Breakfast delivered to the bungalow every morning at 9am. Cleaners pop over daily to give fresh towels and empty the bins. The lake is beautiful. Cute boats to take out at no cost. Little farm with some animals to enjoy. Small playground for little ones. Would 100% come back again. Amazing!

I walked the Fisherman's Trail and although this place was not right in Zambujeira, they provided huge comfort. The lake is beautiful and I really appreciated both pools. Breakfast was exceptional.

Superb accomodation!! I hiked the fishermen's trail and arrived way too early. Luckily they had a room ready already and they let me check in early. Anne is super friendly and helpful. The room was way beyond my expectations! Sooo much value for money. Comfy bed, clean and soft sheets, plenty of place to lay or hang my clothes, also in the bathroom plenty of space for your toiletarticles. I had a huge private garden with nicely smelling lavender and more blooming flowers. An outside table with chairs with cushions, a sundeck chair where I could relax my tired body and a wash line to dry my clothes. I had a fridge in my room and at the reception there is a microwave and cooker to use. What more could I have wished for? Highly recommended!!

Amazing stay, rooms are very cozy and the beds are super comfortable. Location is great, you can walk anywhere. The staff, however, is absolutely the best: both Anne and Vítor were super considerate and helpful, our car broke down 5 minutes away on arrival and they both gave us rides on different days, Vítor even went around with us to several car shops trying to find us a fix. We'll definitely be back!

Anna was lovely and friendly and helpful. The place was amazing. I wanted to stay another night, but unfortunately, it was full ( it was my fault for not asking earlier). Loved having the patio for breakfast . Comfy big bed. Excellent shower. Good size room. Clean. Excellent location. Great cafe opposite for a morning espresso. They can also make a filled roll for takeaway for your walk at a bargain price.

Vila Nova Milfontes is a lovely little seaside town and we’re glad we found this wonderful B&B which is just a few steps away from cafes, shops and restaurants. Room is simple and great value for money. Parking is free and easy, just outside the B&B. The beach is about 10mins walk away and the lighthouse (great place for sunset) another 15mins.

The host was lovely, the room very comfortable. Overall a great place to stay after a long day of hiking. Its location near the Fisherman's trail allows for an easy arrival and easy departure. There's also a grocery store, a pharmacy and a couple restaurants near the property so no need to venture far to restock on some essentials.

An amazing find, located outside the beautiful Zambujeira do Mar - it's like staying in a private country residence in a remote part of Alentejo. An authentic historic building and grounds, with rooms that remind me of travelling in Spain using Paradors (luxury converted castles). The room felt like a castle or church, opening into a shared courtyard with a well stocked honesty bar, and further away over the grass lawns a very separate large pool and sunbathing area (pool is regularly cleaned and large enough to be fun). There is a beautiful and eclectic lounge to relax indoors also, listen to music or take breakfast. The property is run by a lovely family with everyone contributing and helping out, and a family experience when leaving. The room was spotlessly cleaned when I arrived and even though it has an antique feel it was not dirty. The best two things - the homemade soap from one of the family member was really nice, and best of all was the bed. Wow. About 1 metre wider than King Size, huge, inviting and so comfortable. I prefer a slightly harder mattress and while it might feel a bit tough to some people at first, after walking 24km on Fishermans Walk, the best thing is support for your muscles not softness, in order to transfer stresses from your body. I had the best nights sleep in a week hiking down the coast and didn't want to get out of bed!

Very friendly ,kind and helpful staff .The lady that served breakfast was so very very nice as well as Hugo whom was very kind and willing to help at whatever time of the day. Actually everyone there is lovely 😍 The breakfast was delicious and there was a large variety of food . The pool was huge and beautiful There's a shuttle that took us to town and back whenever we need it as the hotel is 25 min walk from the town. We didn't mind walking in the morning as it's a lovely walk but there's also bicycles at the property which we could use Beautiful decorations.

Exceptional breakfast and very lovely people who take a lot of time to give recommendations and put a lot of attention on details. The stable apartments are very cozy, including extra blankets and a little electric heater (our stay was in March). The pool area looked like it’d be fun to use during the warmer months. Overall, we loved our stay here and would wholeheartedly recommend this place to any of our friends and family. Thank you!

The property was very peaceful, but still close to restaurants and beaches and the Rota Vincentina. The atmosphere was very calm and my husband and I took naps by the pool. The host was warm and gave us wonderful tips for the area. The breakfast was exceptional with eggs made to order, and local bread and homemade jam. The soap in the rooms was also homemade! It was a wonderful stay!

Lovely place with a very friendly host. Great pool and honesty box for drinks. We were walking the Fishermans Trail and had use of a car, without it you would struggle to walk into town to get an evening meal as there are no pavements on a busy road. However there is a taxi. Loved staying here and a great breakfast

Fantastic small town with very few tourists. Nice beaches. Great restaurants. But still very quiet. The hotel staf were a great help and recommended a really nice restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary . The room was very comfortable and linen was of quality. Great stay.

We had a wonderful stay. It was spotless clean great facilities lovely terrace and great location. On check in we had a difficulty with our luggage transfer but Martha on reception resolved this no problem and with a smile. Thank you.

Amazing location to explore Serpa, just around the corner from praça da República and the castle. We stayed in the apartments, amazing facilities with everything needed to cook. Towels were provided and everything was spotless.

Everything was fantastic here, WiFi fast, beds comfortable, clean, good selection of TV channels, very little noise from corridors, nothing from outside. Breakfast was very nice but late 0800-1000.

It was the most amazing stay I ever had. Travelling with my service dog has required to well choose our hotel and this one exceeded our expectations. From a wonderful scenery around and a huge yard, this property is perfect for solo travelers. The hostess made me feel like home, she is very caring, always available and tye breakfast is absolutely remarkable. Perfect perfect perfect. About 45 minutes from South Portugal best beaches and attractions. Couldn't be happier. Obrigado!!!!!

Hosts were very kind and attentive, the room was clean and as described, and I was able to arrange a breakfast rather early with no issues and even requested to be able to do some laundry on premises which they were OK with and were kind enough to help me with. It was very easy to get in and out of the property as well. I'll be returning.

The hotel owners were super kind, welcoming and supportive. I was travelling by bicycle and had a physical and mechanical problem with my bicycle. I called and they came and picked me up about 35km away from the hotel. They didn't even charge me any money for that. In addition to that they offered a free dinner once we got to the hotel.

It was a great place to stay, I was riding through. So it was perfectly placed outside of the town and off the main road between Faro and Lisbon. Bike storage was great and they had a bike maintenance setup station for any tune ups needed. The breakfast in the morning was amazing too. Very comfortable stay 😃

Isabel was a welcoming host who showed us into the generous spaces of the bedroom and areas to sit, relax and eat, including an outside shady patio. She provided fabulous breakfasts as part of the booking cost - really great.

The location was excellent, hosts super friendly and welcoming. The room was small but very nice, cozy and cheerful and so was the private bathroom. There was a cute courtyard where they serve a good home made breakfast.

Our pod, and I believe they may all be the same, had 2 bedrooms, shower room and open plan kitchen, dining and lounge opening on to private decking and short walk to pool. As only a year old everything is new and fresh. We had an added bonus that the owners were celebrating their first year in business and invited all to a party of friends and family to celebrate. A very special evening.

The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was really amazing and tasty, served to your chalet with a smile. Loved the pool area, which had a quiet and relaxing vibe. Also, appreciated the thought that had gone into the chalets, so you had everything you might need. We used the sofa bed in the living area and it was comfortable. Would have liked to stay longer. Beautiful place.

Not sure where to begin, however this is now a special place to me and my partner. We visited 2 years ago - absolutely loved everything about it and during this visit I proposed to her here. The place itself is like a small villa and the location is fairly remote, be aware the drive up to get to this property isn’t for the feint of heart… especially with a rental car. It definitely adds to the experience of being remote but take your time and it’s not too bad. The room is spacious and the bathrooms are very nice. The showers have rainfall shower heads and there is a window right beside the shower - if you get lucky (rooms 5/6/7/8) they face west, so you can shower as the sun sets beside you. Each room is equipped with an air conditioning unit, so you can adjust the temperature to your liking. Beds are comfy, pillows are soft, nothing to worry about with comfort. The pool and outdoor spaces are what makes this place unique. The infinity pool is amazing and there are plenty of loungers and umbrellas for all. The hike that you can go on is awesome, bring some water and you’ll be fine. It takes you to a very quiet and remote part of a river with the option to kayak/canoe (you have to ask and pay first though). The staff during my stay were all very lovely but there was one in particular that went above and beyond. I forget his name (sorry!) however he was there the entire time we were there and was always smiling and ensured we had everything. Thank you!

Exceptional place to stay. Great staff, amazing facilities. Few steps to the pool from the room. Rooms very clean, light and modern. This was already our second time staying there and if we will be back in Portugal, we will be coming back. It was the first time for us traveling with a little baby and the proximity of the pool to the room was excellent. Also wifi is amazing and works all over the property (definitely great for remote workers- also a common area with a desk and sofa is available)

The property is beautiful, the bedroom, apart from the bed (below) is very nice. Nice pool chairs and shade and the pool is great as well. They allow people to bring their dogs (We don't have one, but think that's very nice). Hiking and cycling around the property is available, which is nice, specially if you are staying more than one night.

Fantastic place for a beautiful stay near Castro da Cola. The view over the estate and the infinity pool are gorgeous. There is an amazing trail of 5km from the Monte, which is all signed and really worth doing. The breakfast is regional and very good. The rooms are lovely, very clean and comfortable. You can take a quick 15min drive to the nearest town called Ourique where You can find same nice views and food is also amazing. Absolutely worth a drive, we will definitely return to Monte do Alento.

What a gem! If you are happy finding a treasure off the beaten path, this is the Place to go. In the middle of nowhere, surrounded only by a stunning view, and the sound of the bells of sheep, you are welcomed by Raffael. The rooms are like small houses, small but sufficiant and very well decorated. The breakfast outside with local specialities and everything else you would need is delicious. Swimming in the infinity pool into the Sunset was magical.

The suite was brand new and very luminous. It had a huge balcony with a splendid view on the river. The location was perfect to walk towards the city center along the river or towards the see with a breathtaking view on the wild ocean and wild cliffs. It is also located on the fisher trail if you want to hike along the coast.

Perfect location, 2 mins walk to the beach and all shops, restaurants. Lovely patio. Smallish room, but totally adequate. Modern decor, enough storage, mini fridge very useful. Clean. Good AC. A bit stuffy in the room without it. Cleaners are a little noisy in the morning, talking and pushing furniture. Quiet at night. Staff welcoming and helpful. Easy to park. Great beach holiday location!

I visit Milfontes frequently, but my go-to place was not available, so I ended up at Cerca Vitoria. It may become my new go-to place. The apartment was spacious, and has a great view. Parking is easy, whether in the garage space or on the street. I loved being able to step out of my apartment and into the pool. The town itself has a great vibe and is near a lot of nice beaches.

Good location and good sized outdoor space. Standard of quality high and very clean. Comfortable and quiet. Sadly weather was rather misty and damp so did not get a chance to use the pool.

The location is perfect and the apartment was spacious and very clean. There were lots of towels. The pool and games room were a great extra.

In short: fantastic stay. But Fonneke&Theo B&B deserves more words. The structure is in the countryside, not far from Ferreira do Alentejo, but it’s an island of cork oaks, palms, figs, orange trees. The nature is lavish. Our room was overlooking the pool, a much needed and refreshing asset of this structure. It was spacious, furnished with taste and perfectly equipped, with a mini-fridge, coffee machine and water. A selection of wines is available for you to taste, maybe on the private veranda right outside the full-wall window. Everything is quiet and lovely here, the only sounds you’ll hear are the sounds of nature. Let’s talk about breakfast: probably the best Ever tried, all prepared dayly by your hosts. See picture. Theo is going to be a great support for your trip, always ready to suggest restaurants, activities and Places to see. A precious and much appreciated help. We left this morning and we miss Fonneke&Theo already!

My stay with Fonneke & Theo was excellent and exactly what I was looking for - remote, quiet, luxurious, uncomplicated. And thats what I got. I stayed for 2 nights and came back very relaxed. Everything is very well furnished, all around the property you find unique decor and well thought out design features. The room is very spacious and the bed is super comfy. I enjoyed the room service breakfast. As it is very remote, you do need a car, which I had, but for a full day I simply enjoyed the peacefulness, went for a walk and read a book by the pool. I can recommend for singles, couples or young families with small children (they do have a family house for rent).

Trend is a great place to rest! The hosts are the nicest ever! They always check if everything is perfect or if we need anything. They're super nice and amazing hosts. 5 stars. The breakfast is really good! The pool is amazing, it's warm and salty! Everything is in perfect condition. It's a great place to relax and spend some quality time!

Unfortunately we were only there for 1 night, but we would have liked to stay longer. It was fantastic, Fonneke and Theo are very friendly and helpful hosts. The whole place is a dream, lovely garden, great pool, super view and the rooms are beautifully decorated. The breakfast was delicious.

If you want to escape from the fuss and the noise of the city, this is the perfect place. Very good room with a very smart decoration, breathtaking exterior with a great pool. An awesome place to relax and be happy.

Ana, our host who greeted us, was absolutely lovely. She made us feel very welcome and spoke perfect English. She explained where everything was and showed us around the place. Ana also informed us about the breakfast arrangement which was at a lovely cafe just around the corner (a minute's walk from the accommodation). The breakfast there was great. We were really impressed with this being provided. The room we stayed in was superb, nice and spacious with a comfortable bed, well appointed bathroom, excellent WiFi signal. The kitchen facilities were excellent. Parking was really easy - literally right outside on the street. No problem fetching stuff from the car. There is a lovely private garden which you can sit out in and enjoy listening to the birds while eating or drinking. The kitchen is fully equipped so you can prepare your own meals/drinks. The accommodation was really easy to find.

We really like liked our hostess, who was so friendly and helpful. Her beautiful guesthouse is also on the map as certified ‘bike friendly,’ offering a safe place to store, wash, and repair your bicycle. Loved the breakfast option: she gave us a chit to redeem at the pasteleria down the road, where we could witness a slice of a local workday morning along with a slice of apple tart.

A very warm welcome by owner Anna . My room with traditional tiles and high ceiling was awesome. The room with adjacent bathroom super clean and nice towels. It was very quiet for a good nights sleep. There was a well equipped kitchen with espresso supplied and a garden with seating. Outside ample parking . Breakfast included was around the corner in a cafe with plenty of choices .

Breakfast was exceptional in the cafe just around the corner, with the bonus that it was served from 5am. The hotel was positioned centrally with plenty on-street car parking. The host was very welcoming and spoke good English. The shared kitchen and dining room were a bonus. There were plenty of nearby restaurants, a Pingo Doce supermarket and at least 3 late night friendly bars.

This was such a lovely property and experience. The room was huge and clean, quite welcoming. Common areas are beautiful, and the back patio / garden is a gem. We showed up later than expected due to travel issues, and the host was so very helpful. Their customer service was prompt and warm. I wish I could have stayed longer, this spot is perfect.

We did not have the chance to meet the hosting lady, but her husband Mario is an awesome host - always genuinely smiling when seeing you! Great atmosphere, easy going attitude. For us it was important this time to have the possibility to grill - check. We were looking for a quiet place - check. Rooms cleanliness - 1000% As mentioned in the description, toilets and kitchen are shared - but to be honest with you, there were no clashes in usage, and even with other guests present, it felt like own space. It is an old house, with interesting history (!). So if you are looking for impeccable newest designer interior, choose something else. However, if you are looking for simply relaxing time, search no more. We really recommend and if we are back to the area, we will not search other place!

Very peaceful place where you can rest, enjoy the rural atmosphere and have a lot of outdoor activities if you like A lot of trails around for running or cycling, and the beaches are nearby (2-3 kms) The owners are very friendly and helpful, they keep the place in top condition for their guests It's a farm house that was turned into a hostel, so you still feel that rustic touch in it which was very nice Everything is available, they made sure their guests are comfortable during their stays I'll come back again with my family Thank you

The owners, Mário and Rute, are extremely nice and friendly, and very invested in making your stay as pleasent as possible. The rooms are very clean and the common kitchen/living room and the toilettes as well. The hotel is extremely peaceful as there are mostly fields in the surroundings. You can cook or prepare light dishes, and use the kitchen as your own. In the balcony you can watch the beautiful sunset everyday. By night, it's very silent and enjoyable in the garden, and the starry sky is to die for.

Adorable place with free parking, water from the local natural water source, cozy facilities where you instantly feel home and are treated like family. The staff is STELLAR and literally sorted out any problem we came across, accommodating for earlier check-in, later check out and even shuttle service. Can highly recommend.

mario e rute are the best hosts ever. although I stayed one night they were absolutely wonderful . both of them are very easy to talk to. the facility is super nice, very clean and with all I needed. the bed was super comfortable. thank again and hope to come back soon

Just a perfect location for visiting the Beja Air Show. The room was exactly what we needed, check in was really well done and the pool area was lovely! Breakfast & the dining room were just the icing on the cake. The staff were all very friendly & helpful.

Perfect Location for an Escape into the Beautiful and Unique Alentejo Countryside! Besides the Delicious High Quality Breakfast and Sunny Swimming Pool. Staff genuine attention and hospitality, were the highlight of our stay! Even playful Xico, the little canine mascot, performed his host duties Amazingly!

This beautiful hotel was in the countryside and a working farm. A relaxing stay after being in several cities. Nice pool, beautiful architecture and nice grounds. Friendly and welcoming staff. Really enjoyed our stay.
