Swim-up Rooms & Private Pools in Cabarete

The hotel itself is not very big, so it felt like I was visiting a friend in the suburbs: it’s very quiet and you literally live in the garden, full of trees, flowers and birds. I was there in off season, so I was the only guest and I had the pool to my own. The room was super cozy and comfortable, I had everything I needed. I liked Nikki’s attention to details everywhere around the property: starting with styling of the room and ending with beach stuff available for you (like umbrellas, beach fridge, etc). Breakfasts were simple but very delicious. There’s a kitchen outdoors with BBQ facilities. The whole property is behind the barrier and the territory felt very safe, there are also several parking spots at the property. Each room has its own internet router, and the quality was pretty good. At first I couldn’t find a way to the beach, so ask for directions in advance, but when I finally got there, I could see why people were saying about semi-private beach in reviews: not very big, quite clean, no restaurants or sunbeds (although might be because I was in off season there). Bella-the-dog was accompanying me to the beach and guarding me there all the time :) there are also three very cuddly kitties on the territory :) Overall I liked the place very much, Nikki is super nice and helpful, it felt like home. I will definitely recommend this place and stay there again if I’m back to the country.

My wife and I were looking for a small quiet little get away in the DR; we could not have asked for more! Nikki, the owner is kind and sweet and does her very best to accommodate her guests. Everything was impeccably clean; the mattress was very comfortable, quiet air conditioning and a relaxing environment. You'll find a nice little secluded beach a mere 2 minute walk from the pool. It is very safe and no one bothered us. It has no chairs for sitting down so bring towels if you want to laze around, but we thoroughly enjoyed its more abandoned or secluded feel. The complex is equipped with a gaz and charcoal bbq and each room has its own little fridge so you can store some food and drinks. Nikki has received certification for her water; I drank it, it tasted fresh and I wasn't sick, but if you'd rather bring your own water you can also do that. If you're looking for the all included high volume beach resort, this is not the place for you; however if you're looking for a nice quiet B&B experience down south and you enjoy making your own food or going out to restaurants then you'll be hard pressed to find a better place than Garden by the Sea. I thought this was last trip to RD, but after finding this little jewel I'm very tempted to book another trip soon.

It was great staying at Garden by the Sea. Its really close to the main town, airport, and beach. Also there is a private beach just a simple 3- 6 minute walk (depending on how fast you walk) It was my first time in Dominican Republic but the rooms are great, you have your privacy, the pool was well maintained, the breakfast in the morning. AMAZING. The staff was just wonderful! I stayed for 5 nights, and really enjoyed myself. Playa Sosua has some really great snorkeling areas and really cheap also. The owner also uses Solar panels for additional power, which I loved since it is a greener method. The Dominican Republic is prone to some power outages, and it actually happened to me at the airport also, but that's why I'm happy the owner uses Solar panels just for those occasions!

This accommodation is just what you need to enjoy Sosua and surrounding the best. Thanks to the lovely host Nikki who cares great for her guests and it feels like family. The rooms are very tidy and the furniture & fittings modern and beautiful. You really feel relaxed, the moment you are there. very beautiful Garden/ pool area and even the option to make BBQs. It is an oasis for spending holidays. If we travel back to Sosua for sure we will book Garden By the Sea again.

Beautiful Beach with calm clean sandy beach. Good food and relaxing atmosphere-especially in Adults inly section. Herman restaurant is outstanding and best in resort. All beach bars are great. Swim-up room was perfect for us and we enjoyed every moment.

We spent extra money for a swim up suite, and called a week ahead to confirm our reservation. At check in, we were told that the room was not available. We were put into a room that was nice, but in a cheaper price category. To this date we have not received a refund from the resort or from Expedia. While the resort was fabulous, and many of their staff very helpful and kind, this experience will mean that we don't return or use Expedia in the future.

I'm a little torn on my review of Casa Marina Select. Loved: The swim up room Francis, the very helpful gentleman who worked the bell desk. He went out of his way to help with whatever anyone needed. All the bartenders and the service staff in the buffet restaurant The cleanliness, it was absolutely spotless every day Was OK The food at the buffet...it wasn't the most amazing meal you are going to have but there were lots of choices and it was replenished frequently. Needs some work: The water situation. I only had one warm shower my entire stay, otherwise the water was cold or at best tepid. The day I left there was no water at all, so no shower or flushing toilets. There are not enough pool and beach chairs. People were out there at 5am claiming them for the day. The cigarette smoke. A large group set up directly across from my room and proceeded to chain smoke from 7:30am until they went to dinner at 6:30. Another group smoked at the tables at the outside bar all afternoon. Someone in the room above me smoked all afternoon and evening on their balcony. The people on both sides of me were complaining as well. I would stay again, but only in the swim up rooms. And they really need to put in some designated smoking areas, the current smoke wherever you are policy really impacts the stay for everyone.

We recently returned from staying on the select side & overall, we had a great trip. Pros: the select side was secluded enough that we could relax without all the noise and a ton of extra people. Food was decent through our entire stay - our meal at Herman’s was the best of the week, though the buffet always sufficed with many options. Staff were 99% friendly and any concerns we had were dealt with quickly; we had clogged toilet, they came straight away. Our AC died, they came within minutes of us telling them. Our cleaners were lovely and we tipped them well for the hard work they do. Our room was clean, had no bugs or visible signs of mold. Cons: we booked a king room and got 2 doubles. We didn’t say anything about it & that’s on us. I would say something next time. There seems to never be enough chairs by the pools or on the beach & that can be frustrating when people leave their belongings on the chairs all day/night and are rarely there. We wished there was more communication/details about what’s going on: a la carts, theatre shows, disco, local vendors. It would be helpful to add another page with basic details and times. We couldn’t find anything so never experienced any shows. We would go again. We’d like to try a swim up room - you never have to worry about chairs then!

First off , let me say the 4 stars is for the "Select" area of this hotel, which is where I stayed. The rest of the property is (maybe) a 3. This is obviously an old property that has seen some renovation, but could use more. The ocean behind the hotel (there's a small private beach) is very rough. Do NOT attempt to go in past waist-deep unless you are a good swimmer. Pool area was nice, but could use more activities ( a little dead). Food quality at the buffet was "meh". The a la carte restaurant called Hermann's (available only to guests in the Select area) was better. The quality of the liquor at the pool bar in the Select area is also considerably better than the rest of the hotel, so if you want good liquor, book the Select area! That alone makes it worth the extra money. One last note on my experience in the Select area: the level of customer service was far, far above what I experienced in other areas of the hotel. Everyone I interacted there deserves five stars, from the guys at the pool bar, to the maitre d and waiters at Hermann's restaurant, and even the maid. But one person really stood out for me: Francis at the Select Reception desk (yes, we even had our own reception area!) . One note of warning: the staff is constantly cleaning the hallways (which is good), but the floor tiles are EXTREMELY slippery when wet, so watch your step, especially after a few drinks! One last word: remember that a little tipping does wonders for customer service...

I like this place I had the hotel all to myself the hotel has 9 rooms. It's a bit out of the way. But I'll sty here again. I think my air conditioning wasn't working outside of that it's a great price and they have a armed guard at night. The pool should be label like 3 feet . The owner said one side was 9 feet and the other 3 feet he showed me. But it should be written on the pool sides. I made a video of place.

Overall we liked the hotel... The pool could have been warmer, the dinner service was good, but can only handle up to 10 people but may get fluttered. Breakfast was okay but dinner was enjoyable. They were honest with their billing after we ordered many drinks throughout the week. Owner isn't very approachable to questions and likes to give very vauge answers. we appreciate they had pool toys and life vests available if needed.

This is my second stay at this hotel and I will continue to book this hotel when traveling to Sosua and it's near by location. The hotel is super clean, new and we'll kept. The staff is wonderful and willing to assist in all your needs. The hotel is quiet so if you are definitely looking for a relaxing place to stay this most definitely is the place to stay. The pool is wonderful ans well kept clean and can be used anytime. There is a security at the door over night so no need to worry about your car park outside. The location is pretty safe. There is also a small safe deposit In the room. I will definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a economic and we'll kept hotel.

My wife and I both stayed at Coral Blanco albeit at separate visits. We both found the experience outstanding. Alina and Vadim are wonderful hosts. Yuri and the other staff members are friendly and efficient. Ate breakfast and dinner there every day. The food was excellent and the price was right. The beer was cold and the nightly visits with Alina and Vadim were informative and enjoyable. I found the entire facility, rooms, pool and dining area clean, organized and well managed. Mattresses could be a little softer but I would recommend Coral Blanco to anyone looking for a quiet, comfortable place to stay. Alina and Vadim, thank you for a wonderful stay. See you again.

We stayed for two nights and found it comfortable and convenient. The friendly owners are on-site and service and cleanliness are exceptional. Pool was big enough for real swimming, but no diving. There is a tiny but spectacular public beach right nearby, 300 meters walking, that is a hidden bonus. The hotel restaurant has a varied and tasty menu. Value for price is excellent.

My wife and I stayed there for 6 days and had a wonderful time. Hotel is beautiful, gorgeous infinity pool looking out to the ocean that is steps away. Restaurant is right next to pool overlooking private beach. Quite a large bay and can swim out to reef and snorkel and see lots of colorful fish. Staff are exceptionally professional, courteous and nice. Place is very clean. Also has a gym with beautiful views of the Atlantic ocean. From the hotel you can drive to other beaches, or the jungle, or visit Santiago or the north coast towns and beaches (kite surfing at Cabarete is a treat to see). Temperature was a very constant 25°C min 31-32*C every day (77-92) with rain some nights. Overall, a gorgeous gem of a location and experience!

From the moment we arrived until the end of our stay, the staff treated us exceptionally well. The hotel restaurant offers a fantastic dining experience with beautifully presented and delicious food—our waiter, Juan, was outstanding! The beach and pool staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. Our room was spacious with a stunning view of the pool and beach. The sandy beach was a highlight, with fish swimming playfully around our feet, and both the pool and beach areas were delightfully uncrowded. There’s even a helicopter landing zone, presumably for flights to STI airport. For variety, there are several restaurants within 2-3 blocks if you feel like exploring beyond the hotel’s offerings. The hotel also features valet service, a spa, cozy fireplaces to enjoy at night, hot tubs, and a responsive WhatsApp service for immediate assistance or updates. The attention to detail and quality of service made our stay unforgettable!

I would like to start by saying that this property is very nice, well maintained thru out the day and many staff members greeted us through out our stay, reminding us that they were at our disposal for anything we needed. It’s on par with what we expected from Marriott Luxury Collection brand. The room we booked was a 1 bedroom suite ocean view and it didn’t disappoint. It’s a little pricey but it was a huge apartment. Too bad we were only there for 3 night. A shout out to Yoemi, Nelfi, Angel and Alonso. These guys work by the restaurant/main pool area and they made sure we had everything we needed, be it towels, pool beds, food, nice coconut water and drinks by the pool. I would return to stay at Ocean Club Sosua because it was a wonderful stay for us.

Perfect place for a PEACEFUL family vacation!! My kids had so much fun just running around the beach and jumping in and out of the three pools and two picuzzis! The kids also had a blast using the chaiselounges as slides inside the saltwater pool and playing beach volleyball! The food was super yummy!!! Try the pastries during breakfast and the mangú!!! AGUAJÍ IS A MUST! the chef is the famous Chef Tita…. Soooo soooo goood, the chicharron, the shrimp ceviche, the papardelle, the chicharron rissoto, and the asopao de langosta, the bread pudding! Basically everything was perfect! The Picuzzi fire pits are unreal…. The views are JUST WOW!! You can see all the mountains of Puerto Plata and the beautiful Sosúa Bay! And last but not least… THE SPA…. Wooww woooww wooowww… we got a couples massage and we enjoyed every second of it… i dare say it’s in my TOP 3 Spas in the DR (and i’ve been around Spas :p ) I also recommend for couples… my husband and I went two years ago and enjoyed it sooo much!

The was a girl’s trip with my childhood friend. Our time at The Ocean Club exceeded our expectations. The endless pool, the crash of the ocean waves, the serenity and luxury feel of this hotel were spectacular. The rooms are expansive, bright, well-appointed, extremely comfortable and well air conditioned. The hotel concierge and staff were communicative, inviting and informative. The two onsite restaurants were outstanding in aesthetic and food quality. Particularly, the thought and attention that went into the 4 course tasting menu at Agaji - showcasing dishes unique to the Dominican Republic. For other adventures, the hotel supplies a brochure equipped with a plethora of excursions the concierge can organize for you. Overall, you would be hard-pressed to find a stay quite as unique in that it checks off all the boxes, so-to-speak - if you’re looking for quality, serenity, and an unpretentious sophistication.

Our family had an absolutely wonderful stay at Villas Agua Dulce. The villa itself was amazing – spacious, beautifully designed, and filled with incredible artwork that gave it a unique charm. The rooms were comfortable and spotless, and the huge kitchen made it so easy for us to enjoy meals together. The pool was a highlight of our stay – not only refreshing during the day but also breathtaking at night with its gorgeous lighting. The peaceful surroundings and stunning scenery made it the perfect place to relax and unwind. The staff were fantastic and attentive, always making sure all our needs were met and going above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience possible. Everything was extremely clean and well taken care of, which gave us peace of mind throughout our stay. We highly recommend Villas Agua Dulce to any family looking for a relaxing, beautiful, and memorable vacation. It truly exceeded our expectations, and we can’t wait to return!

The pool was so nice, especially during the night time! Rooms were super nice and air conditioned, each having their own bathroom. Setting was very nice and the outside looked beautiful during the day. Rooms had a connected balcony which was beautiful! Food was delivered to our door and so were things from the supermarket, making it super convenient. Workers were very friendly and welcoming. Massages were great!!

Rented the villa for my sin's bday and it above and beyond. Lovely decoration and very clean. Def renting again as the staff was very friendy and professional.

Beautiful property with pool and very convenient to surfing Cabarete (15 min drive), stores (5 min drive), beautiful amazing restaurant on the ocean (walking distance), Sosúa beach for activities (15min drive), also huge plus was he brought us water jugs regularly. It was hot so we drank a ton!

For the discounted price we paid, the room was great! It was much better than the rooms I have stayed in at other resorts in the area for the same price. The rooms were very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the air conditioning kept the room a nice temperature. We also loved the pool. It was very clean and gave you plenty of room to swim without being right next to someone else!

A nice and safe (!) place to stay and enjoy your vacation. We can fully recommend the villa!

Nice development right in the heart of the town. Easy access to everything but a refuge to return to. Very nice large pool with swim up bar. Friendly staff and good rates. Highly recommend. Rooms a bit basic but clean and functioning.

Convenient location, just be careful crossing the street. Great swimming pools, close early each evening. Good pool bar with good food too. Eat breakfast or lunch alfresco poolside. Nice gardens / landscaping. On the down side: noisy PA system at pool bar directed toward our building, our building was noisy (doors slamming) and reverberated throughout. Remember things are different in different countries; NO flushing toilet paper down the toilets in the DR, or you may get stuck with the bill to unclog the toilet. All in all we would return to this location gladly.

Great location right by the beach and in the center of everything. The pool was amazing, 2 big pools and one more kids pool.

This was a great hotel choice. The pool and the pool bar was a huge bonus. The staff is very friendly and the hotel is located in a great and convenient location. The beach is across the street with many dining options on the beach.

Excellent option for couples or solo travellers. Convenient location less than a block from Pedro Clisante street (where all the action takes place), and right across the Metro bus company that takes you back to Santo Domingo. Very private and confidential, the staff was accomodating to me arriving early and checking in before 3:00 pm (at no additional cost). It has its own pool and nice restaurant / bar area. Rooms are spacious, AC included, modern shower, clean and quiet environment. This hotel is a five star all over, and I am a tough grader for hotels.

Pefect location it is 100 feet from the center of town. Has a restaurant and a pool and everything is clean and everyone is nice. The beds are a little firm for me but still comfortable.

Charming setting with a great little cafe inside. The pool was clean and cooled the courtyard off and the room was comfortable and big. And the staff helped me find some fun activities in town!
