Amazing facilities, food and staff were so helpful and always checking in on us. We stayed in a deluxe room which was huge with a plunge pool and a view of Pidurangala Rock. We stayed for 3 nights, but would have been happy to stay longer!

The best hotel in our 3 week trip (out of 10 hotels). The room was massive, bed was really comfortable and the private pool was gorgeous. Staff were really lovely and the restaurant had so much choice. Sad we couldn’t stay longer!

Beautiful stay at this gorgeous hotel. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The only thing that would make it better is a pool but they are building one on the roof, so that will be amazing. It’s no alcohol but you can drink just around the corner outside the temple grounds. Lots of places nearby and it’s an excellent location. Would visit again and highly recommend.

We are a Sri Lankan-American family, and we vacationed in Sri Lanka during the summer of 2024. From the moment we booked with The Radh Hotel, we knew we would love our stay. The hotel was quaint, the staff was extremely attentive, and our stay was peaceful. My father, who is a 75-year-old Sri Lankan native, has severe Alzheimer's disease and the staff at The Radh took extra care to attend to his needs and make him feel safe and welcome. I was extremely impressed and felt at ease with the reassurance of the front desk staff. The front desk manager provided exemplary service to our family. He assisted with SO many needs that we expressed during our stay. Our experience was above and beyond. My daughter enjoyed her birthday at the hotel, as well. She felt very special and was sad to leave.Thank you so much! We will stay at this hotel again when we return to Sri-Lanka.

My husband and I had a lovely stay at the Radh Hotel. The staff was most welcoming, helpful and polite from the very moment we arrived. They found all the information with traveling that we présented them with, promptly and always with a smile. Our room had a lovely balcony unto the street and yet it was quiet. The bedroom itself was well appointed with a mini fridge filled with complementary drinks and snacks and a kettle to make tea. The bathroom was stylish and the shower spacious. The breakfast buffet presents a vast array of choices from egg dishes such as omelets on demand, bread, jams, fresh fruits, yogurt, cereals but also more local fares such as curry and much more. The location is ideal to tour the stunning city of Kandy. Starting with the temple of the sacred tooth just at the end of the street and lake few step away…

My wife and I recently had the great pleasure of staying at Kandy’s excellent Radh boutique hotel for 3 nights during the stunning Kandy Perahera Festival. With a great location on one of the quieter streets in the very centre of fascinating, bustling Kandy, tucked away only a few hundred meters from the Temple of The Tooth, The Radh has it all. From its distinctive architecture, well appointed, clean and comfortable rooms and yummy breakfasts, to its most outstanding attribute, its wonderful, welcoming, genuinely friendly and always very helpful staff, with a special thanks to front of house manager Dhanush, Michael, Abdul and manager Domani, our Radh experience deserves our 5 star rating. The property is impressive. You arrive in a spacious, beautiful arrival hall. The rooms are aesthetically spread over the property. You walk by the lake on your way from the public spaces to the room. Yes, you are surrounded by nature, and still so close to Dambulla and Sigiriya. We had two different room categories: The superior one with private pool and a regular villa. Both rooms were spacious and very comfortable. The private pool looked amazing (as the public pool too). Unfortunately, due to heavy rain, we weren't able to use any during our stay. We would highly recommend staying there at least 2, best 3 nights, to make the best out of the beautiful facilities and the sightseeing spots in the area. Keep in mind that there are no touristic outside eating options within 20 minutes driving, which means it is really a good idea to book half board unless you have your own vehicle or driver and don't mind driving extra for every meal.

Excellent location and pools. Pity they closed the pool when it rained- we only stayed one night so couldn’t use the pool as much as we’d have liked! Otherwise beautiful property and delicious buffet!

The location, facing the Lake, surrounded by such a lush nature, can justify itself the rate for a stay here. We had lunch, dinner and breakfast here, and all food was extremely good. Positive feedback about the massage at the SPA too Extremely helpful staff! We loved the pool located far from the main building (the 2 pools adjacent to the main building were busier)

Everything was perfect. The location was superb. The staff is so friendly. Chef Madura and team gave our little one a surprise birthday gift. The food was delicious with a range of varieties. Main pool, a signature pool and the lake really match the location. There is an excellent wellness centre-Wedamadura with a qualified and friendly team.

Food in the Chines restaurant was excellent and we were pleased to find out that this restaurant opened at 5:30pm which was great after some very early starts. Service at the pool was friendly and the pool itself is amazing. Wait staff in the restaurants were wonderful and helpful and always with a smile

I have travelled extensively and I have to say, the hotel pool is AMAZING and I don't use that word lightly! The architecture overall is really impressive and the pool has been designed as the centre piece, as though sitting within the jungle with a stunning view of the Lion's Rock, it's delightful! The staff are super helpful and kind, rooms good size with comfort in mind. Great breakfast, we ate lunch and dinner there. I thought the buffet was good value, but there is also the a la carte and their other restaurants to try for variety. Really good equipped gym and badnington court. I tried the spa which was a nice experience. This was the last destination on our trip and by far are most luxurious; superb value for money, considering it's a 5 star. Thank you Team Aliya, we loved staying at your wonderful hotel and hope to return to one day. I've already recommended you to friends who are travelling to Sri Lanka next year!

The entrance was fantastic, if you like taking videos you wanna get your phone out when you walk up the stairs. The greeting was perfect, relaxed, welcome drink, formal but relaxed. The room was brilliant, we had a chalet, incredible layout, very spacious and comfortable, shower needed some attention but the bath was perfect. Pool wonderful, wow, wow wow. The service was a bit slow for drinks around the pool but that's literally the only complaint of the place. Dinoker was always on hand and a really good guy, also Roshin who never seems to have a day off, working in all restaurants all day everyday an absolute gentleman, so friendly and laughs all the time. Brilliant members of staff

My stay at Sigiri Heritage Villa was nothing short of magical. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with genuine warmth and care by the owners, whose hospitality truly made me feel at home. Their kindness and attention to detail elevated the entire experience. One of the standout highlights was the incredible home-cooked meals. Every dish was bursting with authentic Sri Lankan flavors—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with love. Dining there felt like being part of the family. The villa itself offers a breathtaking view of Sigiriya Rock, which becomes especially surreal during sunrise and sunset. Waking up to that view every morning was something I’ll never forget. The poolside area is peaceful and beautifully maintained—perfect for a relaxing dip after exploring or simply soaking in the tranquil atmosphere with nature all around. Sigiri Heritage Villa strikes a perfect balance between comfort, authenticity, and serenity. I can’t recommend it enough, and I’ll definitely be returning. We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The beds were very comfortable, and the rooms were spacious, making it a perfect place to relax. The host was extremely friendly and went out of their way to ensure we had a great experience. A major highlight was the pool, which was clean and well-maintained – ideal for both adults and kids. Another big plus: no mosquitoes! It really seems like the owner takes care of that, which added to our comfort. The food was delicious, with plenty of options to choose from. What truly stood out was how attentive they were – for example, they noticed that a child in our group was a bit fussy with food and, on their own initiative, adjusted a sandwich to suit them better. That level of care was impressive. Everything was spotless, which we greatly appreciated. Overall, an exceptional place with thoughtful touches that make a big difference. Highly recommended!

Lovely generous sized room with separate mezzanine level for kids beds. Lovely pool and grounds. Friendly and professional manager and staff - we were impressed / grateful that they all could help us with things in English and make decisions (like arranging to take us out in the hotel Tuktuk, arrange luggage storage) without needing to check with the manager first or get him to translate. Good inexpensive restaurant on site serving nice food. We loved the chocolate banana roti!!

Loved this hotel! Fantastic value for money, great pool and facilities but the thing that makes this place stand out is the staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them, they always had a smile on their faces and were so helpful. The hotel arranged a fantastic safari for us to Minneriya where we got to witness the elephant gathering which was an experience I’ll never forget, the tour guide was super informative and experienced too.

We began our honeymoon in Sri Lanka at this stunning retreat, and it was the perfect, magical two-day stay. We stayed in the Sky Pavilion Villa, which includes a heated jacuzzi and a plunge pool overlooking the Knuckles Mountain Range. It is absolutely breathtaking here, although we only managed to enjoy the view on the second day as it was really misty and foggy on our first. The food here is consistently amazing, and the 9-course Sri Lankan curry is an absolute must-try! Our butler, Gihan, is wonderful and incredibly attentive, ensuring we were well taken care of throughout our stay. The entire team, from the GM, front of house, to the restaurant, and ground staff, were all lovely and kind, making us feel right at home. The property is well-maintained, clean and has a large main pool with breathtaking views. You can take scenic walks around the property, which is a wonderful experience on it its own. It is an ideal retreat for couples seeking a romantic getaway :)

Wonderfully secluded boutique hotel in the jungle. The villas are beautiful, and the pool overlooks the mountains and the jungle. It’s highly recommended for a retreat from the busy mountain roads of Kandy region. The staff is wonderful : professional and welcoming with maybe one small issue to improve regarding very limited English proficiency of most staff, except for very good manager, which can make communication and questions difficult.

I stayed at this hotel for two nights, and it was truly one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. The property is stunning, with exceptional staff who made me feel genuinely welcomed. The spa was wonderful, and the villas provided complete privacy, featuring a private jacuzzi and swimming pool. Everything was perfect, and I can’t wait to come back.

The room was one of the nicest I’ve ever stayed in. It was so spacious and the indoor plunge pool was amazing. The staff were very friendly, the food was beautiful and the treatments were very relaxing.

One of the most unique stays we have had anywhere. With the possibility of elephants and monkeys and all sorts of creatures within the grounds you really feel on the edge of the jungle but in safety. Lakshan, Hesita and Rajitha were superb host and helped us above and beyond. We stayed in one of the two presidential suites and these are amazing large spaces. With your own separate pool room and plunge pool you can spread out and relax. We stayed for 4 nights over my 60th birthday and the team couldn’t have done more to make our stay a joyous occasion. The treatments were well run and very professional and we had one each day included in the price

The most amazing stay in Sri Lanka. Resort is surrounded by forest & lakes from all sides. Huge landscape with a direct view to the most famous Sigiriya rock. My villa had its own plunge pool facing the jungle and I was so lucky to see elephants passing by while in it. This was truly an amazing experience. Villa is huge & spacious, very clean. Staff here is so friendly and very attentive to you. They will spoil you with their love and care, I will miss their beautiful smiles. Ayurveda treatments were exceptionally good. Therapist was so kind and did an amazing job. Had a lovely herbal bath which was so relaxing with zero disturbance as it was too facing the jungle, one can only hear birds. Meals & snacks were mouthwateringly tasty. They only serve very healthy options at meal times. I wish I had more time to spend here, but most certainly be back. A big thanks to everyone at Ayugiri for this amazing experience.

The staff could not have done more for us, they were so attentive, kind, thoughtful, helpful and friendly. The main pool was just wonderful, and the pool attendees did a great job of clearing all the leaves and making sure we had cushions and towels, despite us being the only people using it for our entire stay. The Ayurvedic treatment that we had was really professional and a great experience, despite our reservations and uncertainty around it (just a new experience for us!) The room was big, and the bathrooms were great, and the room was made up every day. The location was so peaceful, with just the sounds and sights of nature. A little scary on the first night but we came to love it. The food for dinner was absolutely delicious and really well made, and our waiter was really attentive. We even had a really special private dinner set up for us with fire beacons and lanterns and a special mocktail, this was a highlight for us. We had bicycles to help us get around the resort, but after dark or when heading to the treatments they came and picked us up with a buggy, which was perfect. They were always on time and really easy to communicate with via WhatsApp, coming back within a couple of minutes nearly every time.

The hotel was exactly as shown in the pictures, elegant, clean, and welcoming, and the service was exceptional from start to finish. From the warm welcome by the staff and the thoughtful gesture of offering two varieties of welcome drinks, to the immaculate presentation, cleanliness, and spaciousness of the rooms, everything exceeded our expectations. We had two rooms: one with a private pool for us and a connecting room with a jacuzzi for the children, which was perfect for our family. The food was exceptional, not only delicious but beautifully presented as well. The friendly and caring staff were a bonus, as they truly went above and beyond to look after us. We had the pleasure of meeting the Managing Director, Mr Wijegunawardane, who was very welcoming, and Nimesh, the Manager, who definitely deserves a special mention for his outstanding service and pleasant nature. The professional massages my husband and I received were wonderful and offered at a very reasonable price. Our children absolutely loved the bicycle rides, the clean pool, and the shooting activity; they were happily entertained throughout our stay. We highly recommend it for a family getaway, where you can truly relax and enjoy every moment without any restrictions. Thank you, Seerock, for an unforgettable experience. We will definitely be back, and we’ll be spreading the word about this beautiful place!

What a wonderful hotel! We are a family of 5 visiting Sri Lanka for the first time. We've just had the pleasure of staying 3 nights at this hotel. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly (including Melinda, Krishan, Aditya, Dilini and Ravindi). The rooms are beautiful, the pool is immaculate and the food is excellent. Dimntha planned a fantastic itinerary of a visit to the national park to see elephants, a trip to the cave temples, a walk up Sygrya, a night time trip to see Loris and a trip to an ancient town. We ended the stay this morning at the hotel spa with the best massages we've ever had. The hotel and all the staff were faultless and we can't recommend this place highly enough.

We had an amazing stay in the Seerock hotel. Lio and his whole team did everything to help us during our stay. We even booked 2 nights extra while we were there 😊. Very clean rooms, most comfortable bed, big pool, large domain which is well kept by the gardeners and nice restaurant. Breakfast was also very good. We booked an excursion to Polonnaruwa and Kaudulla National park with them and also a visit to the Dambulla temples, would recommend!

Short section of access road more easily passable with SUV, until nearby dam construction work completed, and road tarmacked over.

Location was absolutely insane along with the pool and staff. Had an amazing stay alltogether. We caught a good deal with genius discount for like 40€ a night with breakfast. Wouldnt mind paying even more ..We had our own private chalet along with butler and scared monkeys 😂. If road ever brings us close to it again we will definitely stay. Food was sometimes amazing sometimes decent, but never bad. Ill say again staff was really amazing

We loved the nature, small tea plantation and the very well made walking trails among them, infinity pool, badminton courts, private waterfall, birds around, small bicycle ride, the view from the chalets, food, friendly staff (specially Hari) and everything + the friendly cat

The view was absolutely stunning. We’ve never stayed in a place with such a fantastic view from the cottage. The pool was very nice, and the staff — especially Harry — took excellent care of us. We even stayed an extra night to relax. The road was moderatly manageable with our own TukTuk. It’s a good idea to arrive before dark, though.

Fantastic forrest location overlooking a spectacular fast running river. Worth the slight detour! Excellent facilities including (very good) massages, swimming pool and hiking trails. The food we had was very well prepared. If you are looking for a place to stay in nature, this is it.

It's a scenic place where we enjoyed a beautiful sunset from the pool. The morning was equally wonderful, surrounded by nature, with small birds, a dog, and even a peacock that we spotted from the villa. The villa itself has an attic design, not modern, and its major attraction is the pool with its stunning view. Nearby, you can see a golf course and visit a lovely viewpoint

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the villa in Victoria Golf Club, Digana, for two nights, and it was truly an enchanting experience. This is a lovely boutique villa in a peaceful and quiet location near the 4th tee of the golf course. From the back porch there is a beautiful view of part of the golf course and green-top mountains across Kandy Lake. The villa is well-maintained by Ramya who looked after us from morning to evening. She was very friendly and attentive and even brought her sweet little daughter, Nithmi, along with her. My infant daughter enjoyed her company very much. The room and bathroom were clean and the bed also was clean and comfortable. The pool is quite big and we had a great time playing in it. Just keep in mind that it's a boutique villa so even though some things might look rather old or showing wear and tear, that's just because of the boutique concept. We will surely stay here again whenever we go back for a holiday in Sri Lanka.

Interesting villa style hotel with majestic peacocks walking the property. Amazing and spotless room with top notch decor, attention to detail, and its own plunge pool. not far from Sigiriya Rock... and had a nice view from my patio. The food was better than i expected and the service was fantastic. My only negatives would be: the hotel is located in the wild, with minimal landscaping, so there is some insect life, which some people may be sensitive to, and that there is not much else in the area, so you are pretty much stuck at the hotel unless you do safari or sightseeing excursions.

We stayed overnight at the Water Garden Sigiriya and we were glad that we made the right choice. The villas were in excellent condition and they were very clean. We love the view from the resort and had a lovely stroll and biking in the compound. The kids loved the pool too! It was such a fantastic experience that the kids were proposing to revisit Water Garden again for a longer stay.

Last night in Sri Lanka and what a place to stay at! Beautiful location with views of Sigiriya Rock from the pool and restaurant area. The villas are very modern, clean and have a bed you could get lost in. The staff are friendly and the food was excellent. Can’t fault it!

I visited Mandaram Eco Resort in December, and it was a truly unique experience. The resort provides parking 5 km away, and the journey from there is both interesting and adventurous. The road is narrow and bumpy, but the stunning views along the way make it absolutely worth it. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a warm welcome and treated to a delicious cup of cardamom tea made from their own garden. One of the highlights of the property is Kabaragala Waterfall, located just 200 meters away within their land – it’s breathtaking! The staff were incredibly friendly and honest, making the stay even more enjoyable. They serve mainly local varieties of food, which adds to the authentic and sustainable vibe of the resort. I highly recommend this place for anyone seeking a serene and eco-friendly getaway.

This is a very very special place. Do not assume this is a luxury hotel. A lot is missing for what many people expect. HOWEVER if you like to experience and see Sri Lanka in its absolutely glorious untouched and natural state then this is possibly the only place you should visit. Despite giving it a very average score for facilities and luxuries the staff, the experience and the location make up for it in spades. Come here before Sri Lanka is subjected to the mass tourism that’s in the pipeline. The food is also authentic, plentiful and extremely tasty.

The adventurous road leading to the hotel adds to the excitement of the journey. The service provided by the staff is nothing short of superb, ensuring that every guest feels welcome and well taken care of. It is one of the best places we have ever stayed! Amazing architecture. We stayed at Bakmee Upper and Lower Chalet. Kayaking was an amazing experience specifically in the lake with lots of trees. The food was good, and they prepared separate small meals for the kids too. Friendly staff. Very spacious rooms and washrooms. Comfortable beds. The plunge pool with a jacuzzi is nice; wish it was a little bigger pool. Lots of peacocks and many birds can be seen. Highly recommend. Admirable place.

This luxury nature resorts is a excellent place for the nature lovers who interest to been with nature, calm, quiet environment with peaceful mind. Also since this has around 150 acres you can do lot of activities like walking, cycling, bird / nature watching, Kai /pedal boats while enjoying the surrounding ( village, mountain, water, heavy trees, paddy fields, vegetable and fruit gardens, marshy, etc), Even,for kids they can run and play walk ways as they wish freedomly. Also Natural water common pool surrounded with trees and also Plunge Pool attach to chalet with cool/chill water gave a very nice experience Had great hospitality, support & service during our short stay there. We enjoyed it a lot and kind and gentle service was a lot more mean to us to had a wonderful and comfortable stay there. Also, want to mention about delicious foods and various food menus / recipes with nice serving (both English and Sri Lankan) which made us so enjoyable.Finally, cleaning the place regularly and keeping it clean, providing comfortable transport with in premises make us more comfortable. This stay made us a very pleasent experience. Kudos to Kalundewa Retreat Team.

But it is a relative (small distance walking or by tuck tuck) far away from supermarkets, restaurants and shops. Anyway it is a good place to stay to visit the main attractions of Sigiriya Note that the resort is in a "wild" area, so there will be small animals, insects, and mosquitoes. Staff: Very efficient and friendly staff. They solve all our problems. They were amazing. Thanks Bathroom - Good. Shower with hot water but low pressure. Breakfast: It was fantastic with a lot of food. Pool - Fantastic and clean. It was amazing swim the pool Wifi: Very Good We definitely would stay more days at this resort. .

The house is in a very relaxing location, inside the nature and you can really enjoy the pool after making the effort to go to the Lion Rock and Pidurangala. The rooms were perfect as the breakfast; the women who runs the kitchen is pure kindness, she made us take away breakfast at 4:30 AM before going to see the sunrise on the Lion Rock. The owner built this place by himself and he’s very kind and always available, we even had the pleasure to know his family! The little shy girl has a special smile!

This is a perfect place! They have clean nice rooms and a nice area outside. You can see monkeys in the garden and the pool is great. The staff is sooo nice and the owner is planning and arranging all you tours! Breakfast is great - you just tell then the time you want the breakfast and they will prepare a big tasty breakfast.

Very nice and friendly owner and staff of the villa. Cool pool and convenient location. You live a little further away, but 5 minutes drive from all the bars and restaurants. The owner has contacts for drivers and tour guides. The owner himself produces very tasty organic honey, just ask and he will treat you.

The staff here are so nice and helpful. Hotel is just opened, really beautiful and cozy place with big pool. Breakfast was amazing. We really enjoyed! 🌞 I recommend this place: restaurants, shops, Lion Rock and Pidurangala were close (little ride with tuktuk).

We had a fantastic 3 day stay at Villa Kandy. Chamara was brilliant- he provided impeccable service and is an absolute credit to your company. He looked after us from start to finish and made us feel very safe in the time he was around at the property. The house was peaceful, clean and relaxing. The pool was an absolute selling point and was cleaned regularly by Chamara. Some people have commented on privacy but we felt that the owners taking the time to come and say hi was a lovely touch and made us feel valued and looked after. The location wasn’t too far from Kandy at all but be aware that services such as ‘pick me’ take a while to accept pick up due to being based in the centre of town. I would consider the Villa’s own transport if you are thinking to get out and about. Families be aware that the living room is open and so if you’re travelling with children you will need to consider splitting your kids between adults for the rooms provided if your children are young. This wasn’t an issue for us as a family but just something to be aware of. The living room is open to the elements so that you can experience the beautiful scenery and pool and the nature we heard and saw was stunning. A few reviews have mentioned ants and other insects. I’m not a fan myself, but honestly what you see is what you get- you are in Sri Lanka, be open minded, take the scenery in, enjoy the nature a few ants are not an issue-please don’t let these reviews put you off.

Thanks Chamara for all the days you were there, nice talking to you, awesome service, and good knowledge about the area where to go. Location of the villa is awesome. Having my own scooter everything was very easy to drive to, and after coming home a nice and quiet place to relax. And to cool down in the swimming pool. My stay for 3 weeks was awesome. For me a good place to enjoy, explore and relax in Sri Lanka.

We had a great time at Villa Kandy. It was our sons birthday and the hosts organised a birthday cake and some decoration which was amazing (thank you again!). The villa itself is a bit outside of Kandy and it takes about 15min to Kandy with the Tuktuk. It is easy to order food or a Tuktuk over PickMe. Our kids had a lot of fun in the pool.

the villa is in a very peaceful location , kept beautifully clean and well maintained . The swimming pool was lovely and Charmerer came every morning and cleaned it , swept and maintained the grounds beautifully. He even cleaned our Tuk Tuk , swept the leaves outside and decorated with flowers from the garden . The bed was very comfortable and we loved sitting in the outside space .

Breakfast was amazing, the swimming pool just for us, the views and the location were very quiet and the staff was wonderful and very helpful.

A true haven of peace in the heart of the Sigiriya jungle. We stayed at Covanro Sigiriya in early July, and absolutely loved it. The place is incredibly peaceful, surrounded by lush nature. We even spotted a chameleon, a monitor lizard, and kingfishers right in the garden! Special mention to the pool staff, who were genuinely lovely and always attentive. Our room was beautiful – tastefully decorated, spacious, and very relaxing. And the pool… what a gem! Large, clean, set in greenery, and best of all: we had it all to ourselves. A truly magical moment ✨ The restaurant serves delicious, well-prepared food. Prices are slightly higher than in central Sigiriya, but totally fair considering the quality. In short: the perfect place to relax, surrounded by nature with all the comfort you could ask for. Highly recommended!

Outstanding brand- new hotel. Service was amazing, so friendly and always looking for your comfort. We got an upgrade from rooms in the main building to a room in little houses in the park area. Rooms were so nice, very clean and big with balcony to the park. Amazing big swimming pool with bar service. In the evening we had a barbecue dinner on the rooftop with nice buffet. Next morning an amazing Sri Lankan breakfast. Can absolutely recommend this hotel, was one of the best in my travel career.

It was amazing place to spend good time and peaceful with our loved ones. We’ll clean, delicious breakfast.. There was a good Sri Lankan and western food. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. Location was great. Good service from Sandeepa.

I had such a great stay at Another World Hostel. I'm a 38 year young solo female traveller from Australia. I stayed in a private room. I had only booked 2 nights and extended it to 3 as there's so much to do/see but also to relax after so much to do in the afternoons. The team (staff) treated me as a friend and family in such a short time. The accomdation and communal space were very clean and lots of love into the whole hostel. The food was delicious. They went above and beyond with their kindness. Helped organise tours and transport. I had wonderfil long chats with the staff/friends. I can honestly say I've never been treated so kindly in a hostel before. I'm so grateful for my time in Sigiriya and the staff at the hostel. Great location central to everything in town, including Lion Rock. Amazing value for money. Chilled vibes, make it your own little paradise in the middle of this beautiful country. I unfortunately didn't make it up to the top of Lion Rock, so great excuse to return to this hostel to see my new friends next year when I come back to Sri Lanka. Highly recommended this place. The people are the icing on the cake, truly. Thanks, my Malli's (brothers) and my Sri Lankan new mum, hehe.

I stayed in the dorm, it has AC and a safe for your stuff. There is a nice lounge area to meet other travelers. They serve food and you can get water bottles from them. There are some nice dogs walking around. The biggest one Oscar like pets alot. So make sure to pet him ;). We did a tour to see elefants with our driver and guide Thilina. He was the best. He made sure we had the best spot to see the elefants up close without being in their way. He could answer all the questions we had and and on top of that he has very good eyes. He could spot lizards on a tree from far away while driving. Also he was super friendly. One of our group counted the elefants and we saw 100+ in total including 2 week old baby's. The host Maliya was also a very relaxed guy. He helped us with everything he could. He arranged a yoga session on the property with a view of lions rock. So if you are into that, just ask him. He has yoga mats and towels and a treehouse with space for 2 or 3 people to do yoga. All the other staff are very welcoming and friendly. They will help you out with anything.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Anotherworld Sigiriya, and it was an experience I won’t soon forget. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed by the warm and friendly staff, who made sure I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The hostel has a unique, homie vibe that instantly made me feel at ease. The rooms were clean and cozy, with everything you need for a good night’s sleep. I loved the on-site restaurant and bar—the food was delicious, and it was great to have a place to relax and meet other travelers. One of the highlights of my stay was the sunset tour organized by the hostel. The views were absolutely breathtaking, and it was a perfect way to end the day. The activities and tours offered are well-organized, and they really help you explore the beauty of Sigiriya and the surrounding areas. This is the second time I have stayed here. First time was 2 years ago and I loved everything about it, especially the family who run it. So I returned with my 5 month old. It was even better than the first time. They have done so much to the place... They now have a lovely chill out/eating area and changed/added different style rooms. The food was just as amazing as the first time. One.of the best places I've eaten in Sri Lanka, and the portions are massive. They also offer tours, rent bikes and have so much knowledge of the area, and the country in general. Nothing is too much for them, they will help you in any way they can. Malith is always there on hand if you need anything. I highly recommend this place. It's a real hidden gem and I can guarantee you will not be disappointed. It was so awesome to see the family again, and be able to introduce them to my little girl, they were amazing with her. It really felt like a home away from home. Thank you Malith and family. I recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful hostel, and I must say, it was an incredibly enjoyable experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel like I was among friends I'd known for years. Maliya, in particular, was exceptionally warm and welcoming, adding a personal touch that made my stay truly memorable. The beds were incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep, and the air conditioning worked flawlessly throughout my stay, which was a true blessing given the Sri Lankan heat. One of the highlights of my time at the hostel was undoubtedly the breakfast – it was easily the best I've had during my travels in Sri Lanka. Not only was it delicious, but it was also incredibly affordable, as were the food and drinks offered throughout the day. Moreover, the hostel facilities were impeccably maintained, and the entire atmosphere exuded a sense of tranquility and hospitality. Overall, my experience at this hostel surpassed all expectations and stands out as the highlight of my travels in Sri Lanka. I can't recommend it highly enough to fellow travelers seeking comfort, affordability, and genuine hospitality during their stay.

A lovely setting close to Lions Rock, great view of the rock from the pool. You can walk to the rock but takes approx 30mins. The room itself was lovely, and staff were excellent. The food was delicious! Only downside was that we thought the pool wasn’t the cleanest, especially the children’s pool - a lot of debris from surrounding trees, and you could tell that the pool hadn’t been cleaned properly in a while (slippery floor from suncream etc.)

An amazing hotel, incredible service (everyone is so so nice), delicious and huge range of food, great view of tiger rock from the pool and bar, immersed in wildlife (monkeys playing by the pool in the morning is so cute!), lovely pool, would recommend and stay again!

Absolutely fantastic hotel! Our room was spacious with a huge queen bed, patio doors opening up onto a little terrace, a fully stocked bathroom with massive powerful shower, a safe, A/C and a fan, as well as a mini-fridge. Free water bottles were provided in the room. We didn’t have time to take part in any of the hotel activities, but they offered guided nature walks as well as a spa. The view from the pool has got to best one of the best views of Sigiriyia from any of the hotels – the photos on tripadvisor don’t do it any justice! The hotel also set up a telescope in the reception area so you can have a look through there and watch everyone on top of the rock! We went early September so the hotel was pretty quiet; there aren’t many places nearby to eat so we ate both nights at the hotels; on the first night they put on a buffet that had a really great mix of European food and Sri Lankan staples, for both starters, main and pudding. It was a great opportunity to try some Sri Lankan food without being overwhelmed by the many options! The second night the hotel was emptier than the first so we were served from an A La Carte menu on tables set up around the pool. Was a very nice setting and the menu still offered a good degree of variety. Both nights weren’t ‘cheap’ by Sri Lankan standards, but still much better value for money than compared to UK prices. Side note – if you have a private driver, this hotel offers them free accommodation on site

Fantastic hotel in kingdom of Sigiriya. Everything was fine with us. We reserved a vehicle through the hotel. They had arranged a luxury vehicle for us with a reliable driver at a reasonable price. He was with us for the entire tour and took us safely. The arrival experience was truly special – from the warm welcome to the smooth check-in, everything was perfect. Special thank for Bawani at reception for making us feel comfortable. We were allocated for a room with a nice view of the pool and it was comfortable and very nice. The atmosphere was welcoming and everything was well organized. The pool area is very clean and relaxing. Staff was always friendly and attentive for all requests. There was a wide range of food, and the hospitality was incredible. Thank you front desk team always being responsive and arranging our trips. Overall, we had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Definitely recommend and would return.

I loved this hotel ! Truly my favourite in 2 weeks in Sri Lanka. It was the perfect size - not too big, not too small. Close to several places on the must see list. Beautiful restaurant with great food - egg hoppers with dal for breakfast - just yummy. Great choice of vegetarian curries - beetroot, cashew for example. There were monkeys in the grounds - a pain for the staff no doubt, but we loved it. In the evening, the lights were turned down low and the garden lit up - a lovely ambience. The pool was lovely - big enough and deep enough to swim properly and with a great view. Kiddies pool too. Had an ayurvedic massage at the spa, which was very relaxing after a few days on the go. There were hammocks to chill out in. Our driver said that his accommodation was also nice (it isn't always)

We stayed as a family of 5 (3 adults and 2 children aged 2 and 4 years) in 2 river view adjoining rooms. Very comfortable with lots of space to move around and 2 swimming pools (one for smaller children which we were very grateful for!). There is a tour desk that are happy to organise a range of activities (we did the river cruise), as well as organise a van to take us to Colombo once we checked out. The food was also fantastic - the breakfast buffet was the best we’d seen during our time in Sri Lanka (definitely opt-in for the option). Lastly, the staff were all so welcoming and friendly, especially with the kids. A special mention to - Chef Basura, Aje, Shazn & the staff at the pool and bar/eatery area Ishava, Sahan, Danushka, Menuka & Hasini :)

We stayed here for 2 nights and found it to be very comfortable and pleasant. Our room was in the middle section overlooking the pool and had a lovely terrace with a view of the river. The staff were all helpful and friendly and breakfast was delicious with lots of choice. The hotel is a little way out from the town but very peaceful and surrounded by lovely scenery. We had dinner in the little cafe next to the pool and enjoyed it and on our last night, we sat in the open bar area and had cocktails while listening to a singer strangle a few songs. All part of the fun though, and we would definitely stay here again.

Everything was first class the service the rooms the staff the pool the view the drinks and food nothing could have been better. The location is stunning and about 10 to 15 minute tuk tuk or taxi ride. We used a Sri Lanka tourist registered driver called Sam he was brilliant and very reasonable priced he also took us to elephant orphanage tea plantation herb medicine garden and sacred tooth temple. So if you travel by train it’s worth finding a good driver at the station. The pool and bar restaurant was excellent and inexpensive the rooms are large and the beds enormous and very comfortable.

The hotel was clean and well furnished. We had a balcony room which had fabulous view of the river, a great place for watching nature around you. It was very peaceful. The pool area is good with separate pool for toddlers. This also overlooks the river. The staff were excellent. All polite and helpful which you find a lot in Sri Lanka. The restaurant was buffet style and food good quality. We had an excellent 2 nights in Kandy. Hotel situated short distance from Town centre, uphill. Just a short ride in tuk tuk.

Our stay at Cinnamon Citadel was nothing short of incredible. The rooms were immaculate, the food was mouth-watering, and the pool was spotless. kumma one of frindly staff hel us while we were in the pool. The staff were friendly and attentive, with Sasi Kelum and Sji providing standout service in the restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend it.

Absolute dream of a hotel; my only regret is that we stayed for just one night – with hindsight we would’ve stayed for two nights, or at least waited until the very last moment to check-out!! From the moment we arrived, we knew we had made the right decision to splash out and stay here, more so when we were shown to our Superior Room and were greeted by the endless views of tea plantations for all 4 of the windows (3 in the bedroom, 1 in the bathroom – all covered the full length and height of the wall so the views were very much encompassing). If you making the effort to come to this hotel (which was about 45 min drive from Nuwera Eliya along small winding roads) do spend the extra cash and pay for a Superior Room – you will NOT be disappointed. We woke at 5:30am to open our bedroom curtains (it was suggested to us by every member of staff once they found out our room number!) and watched the sunrise over the tea plantations – it was probably one of the most beautiful sunrises I have ever had the privilege of seeing. The view of the tea plantations is so iconic and intricately linked with the image I had in my mind of Sri Lanka, so this room did not disappoint! I spent many hours during our stay here just sitting in the room and looking at the windows; such different views from each window, with the colours, shapes and textures seeming to change with the changing light. You really won’t be disappointed if you book a stay here!

What a fantastic stay! This hotel boasts so much history, soul, style and uniqueness. Although some may find the location a little isolated, that’s the beauty of this hotel at the highest elevation possible. Absolutely loved it and would return in a heartbeat. Had a Premium King Room which was so comfortable and the almost 360 degree views were unbeatable. Bathroom was excellent with great water pressure. The buffet food was top tier, had a great mix of tradition Sri Lankan food and Western food. The hotel was in immaculate condition, the grounds were so pretty and loved the history facts about the hotel on the walls wherever you went. Great facilities with a gym for exercise and spa. The staff were truly one of a kind, were the best we had experienced and made the stay such a memorable one! They were very welcoming, pleasant, and provided a 10/10 service from the Reception Staff to Yogesh who gave us an amazing tour of the Mini Tea Factory, to Pathmaraj and his immaculate gardens, and to the dining staff, Thivyaraj, Vijay, Kuveshan and many others!! Amazing hospitality. Could not recommend this hotel more, well worth it.

Our journey to and stay at the Heritance Tea Factory is an experience that is etched in our hearts. The beautiful drive through the hills with tea plantation and greenery all around was breathtaking. Heritance Tea Factory is an experience in reliving a chapter from history. The character and history of the place has been thoughtfully preserved. Looking at the interior of the building, the old tea factory machines and the uniforms of the staff one feels as if one has travelled in time machine and gone back a century !!! The staff is very friendly, the place is clean and comfortable and the food is superb. There are many recreational activities like Billiards, spa, a guided walking tour , a tea plucking experience and visit to the tea factory, We enjoyed being dressed up like the tea leaf collectors and collecting tea leaves in the baskets like the tea plantation worker. We absolutely enjoyed our stay here and would recommend others to go there as well. Indeed a very pleasant and relaxing stay and an excellent value for money.

Great location looking over the Minneria lake. Spacious and Comfortable room with AC. Bathrooms seem renovated. Showers had less pressure but hot water was available at all times. Great spread of food for breakfast. Both Western and Srilankan cuisines are available. Hopper (similar to crepe) is a must try. It is freshly made then and there. Friendly staff and there are bird watching, trekking, boat riding activities available (additional cost). Swimming pool is a great feature. Nice and clean and located overseeing the lake Driver accomodation included in the price.

Fabulous location overlooking lake - great alternative to staying in Polonnaruwa or Sigiriya for a bit of a treat. Had an amazing view from the balcony - saw monkeys in the trees during day and had an amazing firefly display at night! Rooms were of a high standard with very strong air con to combat the heat. Has a lovely pool which was much used in the heat - you can sit and enjoy the view from here and the restaurant. Good variety at breakfast.

The staff were the best thing about the whole experience of staying at the TH Bungalow. Even before we got to it the front office Lady rang us twice to check on us, we were warmly greeted at the hotel. We needed an extra room which was promptly sorted out. We requested the barbecue for the evening which was perfectly organized. The food was so tasty. The Manager, Chefs, The porter and the housekeeping staff were equally wonderful. The view from the Bungalow is perfect. Big rooms, fully equipped and The bathrooms were huge. The main thing was the cleanliness of the place. We loved the concept of the place looking like a flat with a balcony and huge sitting area and the kitchen area. Also the dining area is separate and beautifully done. We had an amazing breakfast with Roti snd Kiribath. Tasty Sri Lankan brekkie. Dilan promptly got us stuff from the local shop. We have only good things to say about our whole experience.

The property was a lovely old tea plantation house and was located 5 mins outside Hatton down a lane which overlooked beautiful tea fields . My bedroom was really spacious, clean and the bathroom had a shower and bath . It was wonderful to have a soak after climbing Adam’s Peak . The room had a balcony overlooking the tea fields . The Staff were amazing so caring and helpful. They spoke great English and really accommodated me . The food in the restaurant was excellent Sri Lankan food and home made . The hotel uses all organic vegetables grown from there garden . Lagshithaan who worked at the hotel collected me from the train station and showed me all the sites around Hatton and took me to Adam’s peek . He was extremely helpful and kind . He also took some great photos for me of the spectacular scenery in this area . It is truly magical here .

I had a phenomenal time at the Tea Hills Bungalow. The management was very kind and helped arrange transportation to and from the train station. The room was just lovely and had an excellent view of the surrounding tea estates. The cooking in the restaurant The breakfast, lunch, and dinner were incredibly delicious. The staff was very accommodating to my requests even beyond normal breakfast or dinner hours. The hotel management helped arrange for me to get to all of the places I wanted to visit including climbing Adam's Peak, seeing Castlereigh Reservoir, Devon, and St. Clair waterfalls. I especially thought Luxman was not only an excellent driver but gave excellent advice about the area and just went out of the way to be a warm and exceptionally kind host (with excellent jokes)! I highly recommend this place and hope to return here again.

We received a wonderful welcome by the staff. The staff were eager to please us and our thanks must go to Kirosha and the other manager who were very helpful throughout our stay. A picturesque location surrounded by the tea bushes as far as one can see. We were woken up in the mornings by the sounds of the birds and the squirrels. The accommodation was exceptionally large and private and the four poster bed fitted with a mosquito net was a delight. The meals prepared by the chef were delicious. We could have easily stayed a few more days if not for our tight itinerary. We would love to stay at Tea Hills Bungalow during our next visit to Sri Lanka. We highly recommend Tea Hills Bungalow to any other traveller who intends to visit this region.

Everything was perfect from welcome to departure. Staff gave us a warm welcome with a nice cup of tea. Staff members were super helpful and friendly. They maintain high standards and are professional. The bunglow is designed in the shape of a tea factory and the interior resembles the ambiance of a bunglow. The furniture are elegant and comfortable. From bronze to silver, everything is spotless - clean. From rugs to linens, everything was clean and cozy. We ordered dinner from the place itself and the meal was a delicacy, most importantly served on requested time. We could ask for nothing more, all the required items from tissues to champagne glasses were available in the room. Bathroom's given an elegant touch and is spacious. Extra credit goes to the staff for maintaining high standards and friendly service.

As a budget place, it offers all the basic facilities (including good WiFi) and is ideal for backpackers or anyone traveling on a low budget. The host provided exceptional service—taking us to places, helping us find things when we were struggling, and even dropping us at the railway station. You truly can't ask for a better host. He's simply a wonderful human being!

The host was Very Kind and gave us all the required stuff for the stay. He in fact makes sure all our requirements are fulfilled and guides us through the Kandy Plan. Room and Bathroom were Very clean and Beds were nearly arranged If I ever Visit Kandy Again, I'll choose the same location to stay

Nice big room, very clean and quite modern. Bathroom good size and shower was good, even had option for warm water. Staff very friendly and helpful. Location is great as you are within walking distance to lots of shops, food places etc. Nice roof terrace for some sun too.

The place was super clean and the bed was very comfortable. The terrace give a very nice view of the city and the location is walking distance from the train station and the temple. For this price, it would be hard to get a better place!

The room is beautiful and very spacious, and on top of that, we were able to relax in the lovely living room / lounge, which is used as a shared space where breakfast and other meals are served. The terrace outside is also available which has beautiful views. Our host was incredibly friendly and accommodating, and arranged local transport for us on several occasions. The Villa is within walking distance of the town centre, about 15 minutes via a shortcut walking way, which the host kindly showed us. The bed was super comfy, and breakfast was delicious (with a choice of western or Sri Lankan)!

Claude was an excellent host. He was lovely to chat to. There was another gentleman who was also very friendly and helpful. This Villa by far exceeded my expectations. The room was super comfortable with a huge bed and had everything you could need. The bathroom was spacious and had a really great shower. I was met with a hot towel on arrival to freshen up which I thought was a lovely touch and was assisted with my luggage. Breakfast was delicious and served by candle-light. Even the table setting was lovely! I would definitely recommend this place.

The property is very well maintained and is an absolute value for money. Chamind and his wife do an excellent job with the upkeep of the place and take the utmost care of guests. They were kind enough to prepare us dinner as we had requested (which was a deviation from their set menu) when we reached quite late at night in the middle of a major downpour. I loved their breakfast too. Though it is a lovely property, their hospitality alone is reason enough for me to come back to this place again.

This was the perfect place to stay one could ask for. Started from the moment we reached the property. Claude and Chaminda were phenomenal in service. We started calling Claude as uncle after a few minutes due to his mild mannered and helpful nature and Chaminda is an exceptional cook. Uncle Claude was there with us for every need. Advising on what to eat and where to go. Overall a stay to remember and made us think about extending our stay but they had a booking already so we had to leave.

One of the nicest accommodations in Sri Lanka. Clean and spacious rooms with a large bathroom. I must highly appreciate the excellent communication with the host. He was very helpful throughout our stay, extremely polite, and assisted us in planning our itinerary. He also arranged reliable transportation around the area. From the very first meeting, we felt at home and truly welcomed. The city and its surroundings offer plenty of things to explore. If you’re looking for a pleasant stay in Nuwara Eliya, you shouldn’t miss this place!

This hotel has a warm atmosphere and welcoming staff. We had the GEM suite which is a lovely family room. We were there with 4 people on the 21 till 23 August. You feel the colonial history of the building. Food and staff are great. Swimming pool super with a great view on the national park. It is located in the mountain area, so bring a warm sweater just in case. We have benn there two nights and it is a great place to discover things like a tea plantation. In the evening you can go to their intimate bar for a pre-dinner drink and for dinner we used the buffet. The buffet has many options, so you will find always something that will please your taste buds.

I had an amazing stay at Jetwing St Andrews!From the moment I arrived, the staff were friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. My room was spotless, modern, and very comfortable, with thoughtful touches that made me feel at home. The bed was perfect for a great night’s sleep, and the amenities — from the well-equipped gym to the relaxing pool — were excellent. Breakfast was fresh, varied, and delicious every morning. The location is ideal, close to attractions but still quiet and peaceful. Overall, the service, cleanliness, and atmosphere exceeded my expectations. I would definitely stay here again!

We had a lovely time at St Andrew’s. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was nice. The breakfast buffet was very impressive and had a wide variety of local and international options. The garden is very pretty and very well maintained. The rooms are a bit old but had all the facilities and had a nice heritage touch to them. There was a small leak in the bathroom but nothing major. The hotel has a 150 year old historic pool table and a staff member will play a game with you if you fancy.

Amazing hotel in a beautiful location with very kind staff. The buffet was excellent. One of our best moments was playing pool with Thivanka and Rammandala, who took the time to show us how it works and made the moment really fun. We also want to thank Chiran, who welcomed us with great care and kindness.

The property have beautiful old rustic vibes. The rooms are nicely maintained and have old style furniture giving the place a lot of character. The staff is friendly and service is good. They have a nice fire place and a very good pool table. The food is good but limited options for vegetarians.

The next day, when it was time for me to leave, he talked to my ride to make sure I arrive at the train station on time. He also helped me carry my luggage. Nihal is such a great person! The property itself is located on a hill with a nice view of the other hill surrounding the Kandy Lake. I really liked the vibe of the property - it is serene and green. It is also just a 20 min walk to the Temple of the Tooth Relic! While others here lamented about the fact that it’s a 20 min walk, I on the other hand enjoyed the walk around the lake. At night, I just took the cab back to the property and it costed only US$1. The room is also big and the bathroom is clean. Hot water is also working.

Amazing hosts who were kind, warm, honest and went to great lengths to make my stay in Kandy truly amazing! They work hard to make all of their guests feel at home in the property! ☺️🙏🏿 The property was exceptionally clean, very comfortable and the facilities were perfect. Mosquito nets were provided & were very effective. Wifi was very strong, cooking facilities and the kitchen were provided along with beautiful coffee every morning ☺️ The property was ideally located only a short walk from local cafes & around 8-9 minutes in a Tuk Tuk to the centre ✅ The price was very cheap and reasonable! I would give this property 11/10 if that was possible! I have travelled throughout Asia and this is by far the best hostel for value that I have experienced - it exceeded all expectations 👍🙏🏿✅ I would highly recommend Lazy Bear and i will definitely return! 😀

My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights. We stayed at the Lazy bear Ella previous to this. We adore Nihal and all that work for Lazy bear. He is so kind and caring and really looks after his guests. I even left my purse out and they found it and kept it safe for me. They are honest, hard working, good people. The room itself was great, basic but has all you need! Kandy is a great bustling city and the hostel sits just a little walk away, it’s quiet and peaceful and I spotted a few beautiful birds flying around!! 100% would recommend and stay again.

My stay here was exceptional! The owner and caretaker were helpful and kind from the beginning, willing to chat and answer any questions that I may have had about travelling in Kandy - things to do, buses etc. The location is also great. It is just a short walk to the buses past Kandy Lake, but far enough away that it is peaceful and away from the noise of the city. Also there are amenities nearby like supermarkets, greengrocers, laundromats. I was here for a few days before I went away for the weekend, but I decided to come back the following week. It was an easy choice. Highly recommended!

Wauw, this place is something else! I have traveled for a long time now and this is the first place which felt like my real home. The host is giving you the best time and really cares for you. If you want to escape the hectic Kandy and come to peace, this is your place. I came back to this place for three times already and the new booking is made! Although this is an excellent review I have to say I was a bit surprised at the size of the pools. I like to swim laps but the pools were smaller than I'd thought. My fault, of course (lack of blueprints!). One pool seems to have been given over to the monkeys (lucky them!) which was interesting. But perhaps it was seasonal? Anyway, if you're expecting to swim laps lower those expectations and just enjoy the spectacular view from the infinity perspective of the pool....

The stay at Heritance Kandalama was memorable. Tucked on the foot of a hill and surrounded by beautiful natural forestry, this architectural gem of a hotel was way ahead of its time considering when it was built. Rooms, including the gorgeous jacuzzi bathtub faces out towards the lake - which is stunning to watch sunrise from. Rooms are adequately modern paired with local artwork, and love the small touches of eco friendly efforts and eco-advocation i.e don't kill the geckos cause it helps with the bugs (natural setting). On that note, don't be alarmed to have curious monkeys visiting you in the morning outside your room (or bathroom). There are 3 pools, but the one to go to is the small stunning infinity pool at the lobby - best to dip in after all the climb in Sigirya. We are not big fans of breakfast buffets, and decided to do in-room dining Sri Lankan breakfast and boy we were pleasantly surprised at the wholesome sumptuous spread - it could literally be a buffet on its own. It was so good - we had it for lunch too. The location of the hotel is pretty secluded and a 10 minutes drive out to the road/village outside, so all our meals were done within the hotel. One would typically be worried eating within the property can be pricey to eat, but rest assured all the food we had were affordable and worth it! If you plan to stay here, do leave one full day dedicated to just staying within the hotel and just enjoy what it offers! I would definitely recommend and come back again!

The architecture was superb with the hotel beautifully blending into the nature! I think I had the best night sleep in this hotel as the place was so quiet and pleasant. Also getting to see some monkeys freely wondering around the facility was very refreshing too! The highlight was the infinity pool, which does not seem as impressive in size at a first glance, but once you dip in, you’ll know why this place is special. I loved the pool so much that I could stay there the whole afternoon! It is located fairly closely to the Sigiriya Rock so was pretty accessible after our hike. Would definitely come back again!

The location of the hotel is what makes it. The pool and our room looked out over the lake and jungle teeming with monkeys, watching them play and jump was magic. The hotel however is nowhere near a 5 star. It’s a 4 star hotel at most well past its prime badly in need of updating. Service was well meaning but quite slow and stilted, and small things were overlooked, eg the lane divider rope in the pool was covered in green slime.

This hotel is in a league of its own. Once you arrive you are greeted with a jaw-dropping setting in front of lake Kandalama that no video or photo can ever do justice. The entire property blends with nature, you are often greeted with langurs and monkeys and elephants might visit the nearby areas every now and then. There is even a sign at the beginning of the road to the hotel that warns that elephants might cross the path. The food is good, you can glance at Kandalama lake and even see Sigiriya rock during breakfast. The pools are located right in front of the gorgeous landscape. The staff is courteous and welcoming. Perfect score!

It was spacious and so comfortable with cozy blankets and a soft warm rug. The wifi didn’t work in the room but we didn’t mind using the lounge upstairs. It was so cozy and comfortable! We wish we’d stayed more than one night! It’s also an easy walk to the lake and some good restaurants, plus drivers can find it easily from the train station.

This was a beautiful little place, very cute. Lots of balconies and garden area to enjoy the sunset in the evening. The staff were very kind and helpful. We stayed in the dorm room and it was a great find, very comfortable and reasonably priced. I was close to cancelling but the photos do not give the place justice, so glad I stayed!

I loved the antique decor and the location was about 20min from town walking. The staff was so kind and allowed us to pay the next day and leave our bags for several hours. The room was clean and very spacious. The best was the fresh flowers picked and placed in the vase from the grounds.

Perfect stay as i stayed there for two days along with Family. Host was so helpful and guided us with each small to big things. The location is so perfect and the view from the hotels will be always memorable for me. Delicious breakfast and perfect views made our holidays worthy. Thanks to House of Leisure.
