El servicio en el bar y el restaurante lleno de buenas atenciones, alimentos frescos y bien preparados, por supuesto que volveríamos. Muy recomendable.

The hotel was beautiful, quiet, and staff was very friendly and helpful. We booked through Expedia for a 2 night stay, then the hotel messaged me immediately saying that expedia should not have allowed me to book 2 nights because only the first night was available. They felt so bad that this happened and tried to help us find another place to stay for free due to our troubles. Luckily we were there for a wedding and had a friend to stay with the 2nd night so we didn’t want to put the Mare Mio Hotel through the trouble of finding us a different hotel. When we got there, Mare Mio Boutique Hotel volunteered to help me get my money back from Expedia and gave us the best hospitality, despite the error being their fault! I wish we could have stayed longer than 1 night because it was by far the most beautiful place to be. Walk right onto the beach from your room, or enjoy the view from your private patio! Gorgeous, quiet, homely, and peaceful. 15/10 would stay here again!

Hotel Parador Margarita is a wonderfully friendly place to stay. It is central to all main attractions within San Cristobal de Las Casas, everything is within walking distance. The staff were very kind and efficient and all reception staff spoke excellent English. The grounds were very inviting and there were places to sit and relax in the gardens as well enjoy a meal. The breakfast choices were excellent, very healthy and well presented. The meals at the restaurant were tasty and inexpensive. I absolutely loved my stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to feel safe and comfortable and be away from the noise and bustle of the streets.

The hotel was so comfortable and clean. It had big comfy beds, beautiful courtyard and very friendly staff. They made up room every day which was so good, and the shower had great pressure and consistent hot water. The location is pretty good, short around 5-10 min stroll into central and was super quiet. There was 24/7 security and reception which is great for early tours and filtered water to refill bottles. They also let us check in very early after a night bus (we arrived at around 8 am) for no extra charge which was awesome.

The staff is friendly and professional. Jimena (at the front desk) helped us arrange for a driver to Palenque so we didn't have to get up at 3am to go on a tour. Her professionalism was greatly appreciated. The hotel grounds are beautiful. The rooms spacious and linens are top notch. The location is great! It is 2 blocks from the restaurant/shopping walking street which leads you to the main square. A great place to stay in San Cristóbal. Highly recommend.

I truly loved my stay here — I stayed for almost a month. I tried other places in San Cristóbal, but didn’t like them and ended up coming back. I loved the location, the spacious feel of both the rooms and the overall property, and the beautiful green grass outside. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful throughout my stay. It felt like home, and I was honestly sad to leave. I’m already looking forward to coming back.

When you see the outside, you might wonder what you're getting into, but inside is beautiful, we were quite impressed. We booked in for another 4 days. The Cafe is nice, too bad it's only open for breakfast, the little bar is a nice place to sit and have a drink. We would definitely stay here again! The courtyard is very pretty and a nice spot to sit and read. A short walk to the square.

Amazing. Everything was absolutely perfect. We felt right at home from the moment we met Luis and his son (who helped me soo much answering my many questions! Muchas gracias!.) The hotel is beautiful, the vibe is great. The rooms are simple and clean and everything you need is there (and if not, you can ask, and they will surely help you, like for the hairdryer, thank you). the shampoo was so good!!!! The staff at breakfast were so nice!!! and the breakfast was tasty! I even bought their jam! the staff will help you find and book tours in the city and nearby areas - the tours are so great! And you can pay in the hotel, which is very convenient and safe!! We LOVED San Cristobal and staying in Ocho Barrios!

we liked the little apartment were we stayed whit a fireplace and a porch with a nice little garden ,very well mantain mexican style rustic hacienda, we really loved that is a walking distance to the center, the plaza and the artesanal market, everithing is on walking distance very close to the andador as well (pedentrian turistic area restaurants shop bars and nightlife)we will definitely stay there again!! and very nice staff as well thanks! ps good internet 60mega! street parking very secure and quiet area alwais available spaces.

Ocho Barrios is a very nice, clean and cosy place to stay in San Cristobal. Situated very, very close to the city center with an amazing flair and great staff. The communication with the hosts was great and easy. They are very friendly and always open to help, e.g. booking tours, offering laundry service etc. The delicious local breakfast in the garden was highly appreciated every morning. We highly recommend the place to stay and the hosts. Thank you very much and all the best!

We had an incredible stay in San Cristobal de las Casas! The room was not just lovely but also incredibly comfortable (water pressure was the best we had ever!). The location was spot on, making it easy to explore the area. However, what truly made our experience exceptional was the staff. Senhor Luís and Senhor António were outstanding, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort and enjoyment. Their warmth and dedication made our stay unforgettable. We can't wait to return!

The location is perfect (short stroll to centre of town) in a quiet street. There is a lovely reception area with a place to sit and a beautiful garden courtyard where breakfast is served each morning. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Rooms are clean and very comfortable. I highly recommend Hotel Ocho Barrios if you're coming to San Cristobal de las Casas and would definitely stay here again! We decided to stay an extra 2 nights.

El hotel es espectacular en en servicios limpieza, pero hay un pequeño detalle que tienen que mejorar, la dirección que tiene hoteles.com no es la correcta, ya que el hotel la estancia no tiene ningún aviso, y la puerta en esa calle indicada está cerrada, perdí una hora tratando de ubicar el hotel y gracias a un vecino que tiene una barbería al lado, me explico que la entrada del hotel es por la calle de arriba y que tiene como nombre paradero margarita, les solicito actualizar la dirección de entrada del hotel con la finalidad que las personas que reservan no pierdan el tiempo

Our stay was wonderful. The property is very beautiful and the service was great. The front desk arranged for our tour and also called taxis for us when needed. We had a king room with a balcony. The bed was very comfortable, quality linens. Everything was in working order - outlets, cable tv even with English channels, wifi, and excellent/fast hot water! The food was also good. We had both breakfast and room service. Both excellent service and prices. It's on a quiet part of a main street, but everything we needed was a short walk. Would recommend to others and stay here again!

The Estancia is a lovely. Great location. Lovely staff (Moises, the owners' son who runs the desk was wonderful). Having just travelled down from the Gran Hotel in CDMX, I can say that the beds here were more comfortable than the GH. And they were very comfortable. The whole place is classy and has been designed with care and attention. The new slow food/local ingredients kitchen, with Alphonso Robles, open Thursday to Saturday is a winner. Even if you're not staying there, you should go for this.

The staff was super welcoming and helpful, the rooms were big and clean and the position of the hotel was great. We enjoyed our stay, if you're coming to San Cristobal this is a must take. You won't regret it (we regret it to leave after only 1 day actually).

What a cute spot! I was greeted by a very kind staff member and led to a really cozy and comfortable room. The kitchen was great for story supplies and having coffee, tea and water on-site was perfect. I spent a lot of my time here hanging out and reading in the hammocks. I liked having access to the hotel via WhatsApp for any questions/comments. I also liked how the rooms were decorated with local crafts. The internet worked well for me, but I wasn't using it for work so can't comment on how it'd hold up on zoom calls or the like. Also after a week of not having hot showers previously, was very appreciative of having hot water on demand! Lastly - always love a spot that has a book exchange set up, where I was able to swap a book out for another one in English. Oh - also was easy to get to from the bus terminal in town - quick taxi.

Room was clean, tidy, cosy. Very good shower with hot water. The quality of bed and mattress was great for a proper rest. Common areas where cosy and making a great atmosphere. The support of the Team was really great, from our early check-in when the room was ready, to our check out with the opportunity to store our baggage and to use the Casa Azabache's facilities for enjoying San Cristóbal de las Casas till the late afternoon. You can also book through them excursions for must visit areas in Chiapas, which is an additional option of services provided. The position in town is perfect and the price is very competitive referred to the level of services provided. Expect to pay by cash instead of using a card in order to save money from the extra charge paying by card. Casa Azabache is an amazing option if you are planning a visit in San Cristóbal de Las Casas and it is highly recommended.

I had a really good stay at Casa Azabache. The room was clean and cozy when I got in and it was maintained as such during my entire stay. The staff were very accommodating and kind, they gave me good tips on how to plan my holiday in San Cris and area efficiently, which I really appreciated. They also added extra blankets for me when I had complained to them about the cold mornings (not the hotel's fault obviously, we've ruined the planet and now it doesn't know how to keep the climate at a comfortable temperature for me). I feel like I got good value - I had a shared bathroom room and the staff cleaned the bathroom after every use. It had good water pressure and after a few minutes, good and consistent hot water which was key. The kitchen area was also very helpful. Thanks for the nice experience, Casa Azabache!

Super friendly staff! We booked 3 tours at the hotel and they were very helpful with everything. Also with organising the airport transfer for our out-bound flight. They waved us goodbye with a souvenir gift. Here is where I had my best sleep of my 1 month trip in mexico. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are very dark when you turn of the lights so you can really get a good night's sleep. The quiet hours are from 10 pm to 10 am. We had a shared bathroom but everything was kept very clean. Close to the city center.

This was by far the most beautiful and warmest and most personal accommodation on our México trip! Our room was super comfortably furnished. Everything went very smoothly and we were even able to move into our room directly, although we were much too early at the hotel. We felt very safe due to the very nice staff which responds 24/7 to the guests.. they even made us extra coffee early in the morning. The hotel added a lot to our stay in San Cristobal. We will definitely come back to this warm great diverse city :) Thank you for everything!

The breakfast was delicious, plenty of options and presented exceptionally. Very obvious that the chef takes huge pride in their work, quality of the food was second to none. My Dad and Brother are chefs so I’m quite fussy and understand the level of work that goes into to develop, deliver and present such beautiful dishes. The staff are always friendly and go out of their way to help you. The actual decor in the hotel is beautiful. We attended a food and wine event and it was phenomenal, we have fantastic memories from our time here.

Beautiful hotel. Very helpful and friendly staff. Our room slightly flooded in sudden extreme rain and they immediately moved us to a bigger room. Very helpful with getting a taxi when we left. The spa is lovely - got a great massage. Breakfast was not included but we had it every day at the restaurant attached to the hotel which was great. The staff were friendly and the food was delicious. The location is a couple of minutes away from the main square so perfect for everything you’d want to do.

I recommend Hotel Sombra del Agua with enthusiasm! Excellent location - right in the center of town. Yet the floor plans, massive architecture and good building materials insulate it from the city's noise. It is a heavenly oasis. Impeccable, attentive service, to the most minute details by a staff who is both highly professional and compassionate. Luxurious comfort for affordable prices. The hotel is super clean and very well maintained. The hotel's restaurant's chef is one Mexico's top 100 chefs and his food is both traditional and creative.

This is a lovely hotel. The courtyard is beautiful, our room was spacious, well appointed, comfortable, and very clean. Staff were very helpful and so nice. There is lots of great art on the walls. Considering the price, it went well beyond our expectations. The location is very central but not to close to the Zocolo so as to be too crowded or noisy. It was really quite perfect.

I love this hotel and come once or twice a year on buying trips. The staff is lovely, the rooms and simple, elegant and clean with well-made and designed wood furniture...the two courtyards are so pretty and you can relax in the bigger one surrounded by greenery and dappled sunlight after a long day. Elegant, stylish, clean and in a perfect location. I love it!

Property has a restaurant and a swimming pool. 3 blocks away of the main plaza.

Hotel Maria is in a nice location, not too far from Andera Guadalupe, the pedestrian walkway with shops, restaurants, cafes, bars, and just a little further to the square or park. The staff is great, very helpful and accommodating. The decor is generally very nice except for the sofas in the public sitting area or in your room but that's subjective, they don't match the decor and are not comfortable. The rooms were very clean and daily housekeeping is great too. We ate breakfast in the attached cafe, MorenaMaria as part of our package. It was ok but the menu is limited. Prices for breakfast in the area are about the same and you get better options if you go out. One of the king sized rooms on the second floor has the bedroom in a loft. It was difficult for me to go up and down the loft stairs to use the restroom everytime. Also watching television requested me to lay in bed as the TV was mounted high up above the bed. Luckily, another king sized room was available where the bathroom was on a different level and we were able to switch rooms. You will hear lots of music and talking but I'm pretty sure it's from the neighboring property. You will also get strong smells of food being cooked. They booked us a taxi to the airport and also checked on the status of a FedEx package, actually running down to the office to check on the status.

Very Well located next to most of turístic places. All Staff members very kind and corteous Spotless room and bathroom. Beds were kind of stiff, but ok. Very high speed internet working perfectlly. I would highly recommend this hotel for everyone. The only one thing is that Syctravel was sending me a lot of messages by phone and mail and even phone calls asking me to make the payement right away: that was disgusting at any time, but mostly at this time of pandemia, in which most of turistic companies are offering the payment at the moment of check in and a lot of time to make cancellations. I did not know that Syctravel would do this, otherwise I would have gotten another hotel as I already did to spend 4 more nights in this beautiful city.

The place was just adorable! It wasn’t a very large hotel, giving it an even special feel! The decoration were fabulous. We will definitely stay here again. Now some specifics: there was not a lot of room for clothing. We didn’t require it, but if you’re looking for space, not the place. No A/C or heating. We went in June/July and the weather was perfect. We didn’t need one. I don’t know if they do have them when it get hotter or colder, but for us, not needed. The staff was extremely helpful & extremely kind. Location was perfect! Less than 5 minutes away from all the action. Again, this place is just soooo cute!!!! Highly recommend it!

Grand Maria is conveniently located in the Centro about 3 blocks from the main square. It is clean, well maintained, and up-to-date. Geat tile shower with plenty of hot water. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was of modest size, but comfortable. The beds had plenty of blankets, perfect for the cool evenings in San Cristobal. A minor inconvenience was that the room was a little short on storage space (no dresser drawers). The in-hotel restaurant was very nice but higher priced than the many nearby restaurants. Overall, highly recommended.

The hotel is located at a mall. The room was large and very clean. My room was located at the end of a corridor, so it was quiet. An elevator ride down takes you to the mall entrance. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.

Muy buena ubicación, muy cerca de todos los sitios de interés en el centro. Habitacion limpia con aire acondicionado, secadora , agua caliente en regaderas todos los dias sin problema. El personal amable. En especial Jesús en la recepción durante el turno de la tarde, nos ayudó mucho en nuestra estancia, cada pregunta que teniamos nos ayudaba a resolverla y con muy buenos consejos de que lugares vistar durante nuestra estancia . Los inconvenientes que tuvimos en la habitación fué que un día no podiamos acceder al cable en la tv , pero nos ayudaron a solucionarlo en ese mismo rato . Otro fué que el internet iba y venía con intermitencia en la habitación , fuera de eso la estancia fue muy buena.

Todo muy bien, bueno, casi casi todo, pues el internet era inestable y dentro del hotel no hay señal de datos móviles. Cómo sugerencia es que coloquen más conexiones eléctricas pues incluso en la mesita fija de planchar no hay ningún enchufe cerca, por lo que tuvimos que planchar en la cama. El lugar es limpio, con mantenimiento al día, tiene estacionamiento subterráneo, agüita caliente y cobijas extra que fueron muy útiles. Sin duda me hospedaría ahí en mi próxima visita. En general le pondría una calificación de 4.6 de 5 estrellas.

Estancia agradable, habitación limpia, baño amplio, sin ruido, el precio es bueno en consideración con otros hoteles de alrededor, se encuentra en punto medio hacia el centro, mercado de los dulces y artesanías y San Cristóbalito. Tiene servicio de bicicletas gratuito para los huéspedes por si deseas recorrer sus barrios. Los tamales de Chipilin del restaurante muy ricos y económicos. Te contactan con los tours a un precio accesible, nuestro guía fue el Sr. Gerardo, muy amigable y viaje seguro. Excelente todo!

This is a great hotel in a great location. Our room was large, clean and very comfortable. Wifi and air conditioning worked well and we appreciated having ac in the hot month of May. It is very quiet at night, even though it's only a block or two to the restaurant area. Shower has hot water, towels are clean. We could store our luggage for a couple of hours before check-in which was very helpful.

Está muy céntrico, tiene estacionamiento seguro para el auto, el personal de recepción muy amable te dan opciones de restaurantes y los mejores lugares para comprar. El diseño del hotel muy bonito, las habitaciones limpias y nuevas. El único inconveniente es qué se escucha mucho ruido pero se entiende al ser un lugar turístico y que siempre habrá flujo de personas. Muy recomendable, la calidad precio 10/10, sin duda regresaríamos :)

The facilities were all clean, well kept and they had special look to them. The buildings weren't the typical square, black and gray paint. There was a big green area in the middle, if you enjoy listening to birds or bird watching there are opportunities to enjoy them. The staff what super helpful and kind, My wife and I were in the pool all day and they didn't have a problem if we ordered from apps and have them deliver it directly to the pool. The breakfast was a good experience for those who don't know too much about Mexican Cuisine, at the time of writing this it was $190mxn for guests (around $11usd). They don't have a bar, but there's a convenience store next door and they let you bring in food and /or drinks. The pool was warm enough that our bodies didn't have an "adjusting period." They had enough parking and didn't have problem with that. The bed was comfortable and the bathrooms were super clean with enough water pressure.

Room is very comfortable, I loved both the bed and pillows. Washroom is quite big as well. The restaurant attached to the hotel is amazing, with great food and fair prices. You get a small discount for being a guest. Unfortunately the pool was being fixed. However, the hotel granted us a day pass to other hotel so that my nephew could enjoy a pool. They were very kind and helpful. There is parking inside the installations and the area is very safe. The stay was perfect.

You drive into a little oasis off the main street. There are security guards who let you in and direct you to check in which is quick and easy. A central square has lots of vegetation, a pool, hot tub, cold purified water and a shaded sitting area. Rooms are huge and nicely appointed.

Amazing staff, especially this one particular janitor. Otherwise very relaxing atmosphere, everything spotless and lovely well maintained little pool.

I don't think I realized that the Parque Marimba is actually not in the busiest center part of Tuxtla Gutierrez. Which is not a bad thing, as there are plenty of restaurants to choose from and frankly being in this area was a good compromise--plenty of life, but more relaxed. And the Parque Marimba itself has a fun energy about it, with entertainers and people dancing. One thing I appreciated about this location was that Jaguar Tours is situated there, which made it a good starting point for a tour to the Parque del Sumidero. The room was very clean and comfortable. The gym was small but served its purpose. Breakfast is included but be warned that things get busy, so you might be waiting a bit for a seat. A nice establishment all in all that I was glad to return to.

My family and I stayed at this hotel during Christmas before going to San Cristóbal. I enjoyed the fresh and clean atmosphere at this comfortable location. The bright stars of this location were many and they started with secure interior parking, friendly service at the counter, a very good breakfast representative of Mexican/USA/Europe styles combined, and a great location. My favorite star of this location was the bed! After hiking through Tuxtla and the waterfalls at Chiflon, we loved sinking into the super soft beds the dreaming easily. I should make an honorable mention to the knowledgeable and friendly taxi driver Jorge who sits out in front of the hotel waiting for hotel business. He took us all over Tuxtla and to Chiflon (6 hrs!). I highly recommend this location.

I have a business trip Chiapas in Mexico. I traveled around the area for a week and came here to Holliday Inn. First the staff at the front desk were friendly. My tiredness disappeared and I felt comfortable. It was unbelievable that there was such a good hotel in Chiapas. The comfort of the rooms, the surrounding neighborhood was quiet. There will be many other hotels in the city. When I woke up in the morning, the view out the window was also good. If I come to the area again next time, I will stay at this hotel again.

Great location near Parque de la Marimba, where you can enjoy beautiful live marimba music played by a full orchestra—it’s a wonderful experience. The rooms are clean, and there’s a small but well-equipped gym with a treadmill, bike, elliptical, and some dumbbells. Breakfast is nice, though I wish they had ketchup! Secure parking is available. The security guard was especially helpful, friendly, and spoke English. When we checked in, the lady at the front desk didn’t speak English, but she was still very kind and welcoming. Overall, a great stay.

This was an excellent hotel. Spacious. Clean. Great beds. Excellent daily cleaning. Wonderful breakfast. The room had a coffee percolator and provided coffee in specially prepared sachets. I had a really great view to which I woke up each morning. The hotel is well located near a busy square which was full of life in the evenings and a further 7 mins down the road, the main cathedral and town centre. A big supermarket was also close by. I walked everywhere except for when I made tripe to the zoo and botanical gardens.

Es hat mir hier gut gefallen. Rund um die Uhr war immer einer ansprechbar. Man hat alles möglich gemacht, die Wünsche zu erfüllen. Frühstück war klein, aber ausreichend und liebevoll zubereitet. Frühstücksraum ist leider nur über eine enge Wendeltreppe zu erreichen. Ich würde dieses Hotel wieder nehmen. Einen kleinen Kretik-Punkt gibt aber doch. Die Handtücher müssten mal komplett erneuert werden 10 min Fußweg ins Zentrum. Zum Bausbahnhof ca. 15-20 Minuten. Kann mit Gepäck anstrengend sein. San Cristóbal ist eine kleine überschaubare Stadt, aber der Verkehr ist verhältnismäßig sehr stark. Bürgersteige sind zum normalen Lauf eigentlich nicht geeignet, sehr schmal und teilweise auch sehr hoch.

Agradable lugar, son solo 5 habitaciones lo que te hace sentir como en casa … El desayuno es rico y variado y esta súper bien ubicado, caminando a pocos pasos estás cercas de la mayoría de los atractivos … En general, TODO muy bien, la relación calidad-precio es estupenda; pero lo que se lleva las palmas es LA ATENCIÓN DEL PERSONAL, súper amables y serviciales, muy en especial MARY; créanme que hacen todo lo posible por atenderte de lo mejor. Gracias por esta increíble estancia.

One of the most charming colonial hotel of all my journey to Mexico. Conveniently located just 5 minutes by walk from the main square of San Cristobal it's the right accomodation if you want to visit properly the historic centre. Room was very cosy and in colonial style. No heating is available so during the night it was a little bit cold and so there is the chance to light the fireplace just aside the bed. Very fascinating. Staying there is like a time machine. You can have a trip back to the past.

The stay was awesome and so was the staff. Everyone was very nice and helpful and the hotel itself was in a great location. Not too close to the town square and not too far away. The place was kept clean, the staff was always cleaning something. It was very picturesque. Omar, who tends a very nice stand in the front was awesome. He spoke English which was a great help for me since my Spanish is very limited. Great time. And the restaurant and staff there was great too....! I would highly recommend.

Es muy difícil encontrar estacionamiento y que el hotel cuente con su estacionamiento justo detras de la propiedad es un plus tambien fue de los pocos hoteles que de verdad contaban con señal y wifi ya que hay muy poca señal en chiapas para el celular la verdad todo salio bien excepto por la actitud de la recepcionista al principio la cual fue un poco desagradable entiendo que fue un mal entendido pero no es necesario tener una actitud tan poco servicial o pocas ganas de ayudar

Location is great, close to everything. the room was very nice colonial style, small with two beds and balcony but very confortable and the chimney was so cool! Beds are a little bit hard. Restauran is great. I loved the eggs with mole had them twice, The morning staff in front desk was nice the one (male) was not very helpful. The restaurante manager suggested more than the front desk person. We travel with family, hotel was clean.

This 4-star hotel in San Cristobal is correctly rated. Its location is excellent, being just two blocks from the city park. Its dining room is about as good as any in town, and its ambience is charming, being a former large colonial home with a central patio. Its cost was quite competitive, therefore an overall great experience. Slow-turning ceiling or wall fans would be a good addition, as the rooms got stuffy at night.

Hilton Garden Inn - Tuxtla Gutierrez, Mexico. Such a nice pool area, especially with the lights in at night. The 24 hr gym has a good selection of equipment. I think my favorite thing about the hotel was a flexible breakfast policy. Unlike most places that shut down breakfast around 10:00, I was able to order mine around noon or later, and have it served at the tables by the pool! I would definitely stay here again.

If we have 3 people in the room they should have 3 towels. They leave only 2 towels for 4 people room . They need to have towels at the pool for the guest all time. We have to wait for towels when we get out from the pool.

Overall we had a wonderful visit to the Hilton Garden Inn in Tuxtla Gutierrez!! The staff was very friendly, the rooms were comfortable, and everything was very clean! Due to COVID, the pool was closed unfortunately but looked very inviting! Oscar and German took very good care of us in the restaurant for breakfast every morning. By the middle of the week, they knew I wanted black tea over ice with a straw and some Stevia (ha) (strange American with iced tea for breakfast). The only problem was Sunday morning breakfast. I’m not sure what happened but they had no staff in the kitchen. We waited like 1.5 hours to get any food. Hopefully they can make sure they are well-staffed on weekends too as people staying expect their included breakfast to be prepared. I would definitely stay here again if visiting the area. They had to juggle our room a bit due to government restrictions of 25% capacity so we didn’t get the suite we had planned on, but they ended up giving us 2 more rooms to accommodate our group of 8 for the same price! Free on site parking and WiFi. Thanks for a great and memorable stay while on our vacation. We made great memories and Hilton was part of it!!

This hotel exceeded my expectations. The rate for Hilton points per night was a bargain. (The cash price was great too.) The location was good, with a shopping mall 5 minutes away. As a Hilton Diamond member, I was upgraded to a suite. This was a pleasant surprise, because I rarely get upgraded at Hilton Garden Inns. The staff are great at this hotel, including the housekeeping. The laundry service was efficient and better priced than other hotels. It was nice to have a pool area and a gym with all an all in one weight lifting station. The breakfast was good with plenty of choices. I highly recommend this superb hotel!

Good points of this hotel (and there weren't any bad points): Excellent location near the shopping mall with a hypermarket and restaurants. Excellent value. Good breakfast/brunch that stays open until noon (but please bring back bacon) Excellent staff at breakfast. Nice pool (that was surprisingly chilly in the heat of April). No complaints about my room on the quiet sixth floor. AC worked very well. I would stay here again.

We LOVED our 5-night stay at this hotel! The location was absolutely perfect, and the hotel itself is amazing. Just off the lobby area, there is a covered courtyard area with large trees in it, and you can have breakfast overlooking the courtyard. In another part of the hotel, there is a library/reading area, and on the third floor, the large terrace has lovely views of the surrounding hills and is full of potted flowers and plants. The artistic details, including many murals and beautiful decorations, add such class to this hotel. The restaurant is very good, and the service - from front desk staff to restaurant staff to the helpful staff members who opened the door to the private parking garage every time we needed to come or go - is outstanding. Would recommend this hotel without hesitation, and we would very happily stay here again.

I wasn't expecting the place to be so charming and beautiful! We booked last minute but the price was very reasonable and included parking. The room we had with the king-size bed was very comfortable and had a great view. The terrace outside was very nice too. Handy location for wandering about. The aforementioned carpark is a bit painful but the porter ran out to help us get in without too much trouble. Some reviews mention hot water being an issue. The water was hot when we were then and didn't take long to come in.

Outstanding little property about six blocks from the main plaza of the old part of the city, which is what you want to see. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are a bit spartan compared to American hotels, but the charm and beauty of the central courtyard outweighs this. Breakfast is traditional Mexican, complete with refried beans, corn chips, fresh fruit and freshly squeezed juices every morning on the buffet. All meals can be ordered a la carte also, and are amazing; especially the huevos rancheros! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to San Cristobal.

Great location and beautiful architecture throughout, including lots of tiered spaces to curl up with a book or meet with friends--a roof top garden, cozy lobby, and interior restaurant with an open, street-like feel. Great for a longer stay because there is so much space to sprawl out. Rooms are clean and comfortable, and you can't beat the price for the service, location, and accommodations. The restaurant was delicious too--home-cooked and fresh! Great spot in San Cristobal! Thank you.

The building was outstanding in cleanliness and well organized. Staff was always willing to help. The location for us was perfect, about 5 minute walk from the main plaza, away from the noise. I bought a package that included this hotel, so I cannot tell you about price, but my package was very affordable. I would and have recommended other family members traveling to San Cristobal to stay at Mansion del Valle!

I really like this hotel specially the pool but it’s always dirty. They don’t clean the pool at all.

VERY pleased with everything, arrived late night and tired. The Crown Plaza sits adjacent to the Holiday Inn in Tuxtla, it was very clean, clean lobby, great restaurant, friendly staff, beautiful gardens, clean rooms, flat screen TV, cold AC, good water pressure and I can't say enough. The pool was beautiful, didn't get a chance to go in because of my time schedule but it looked so inviting. The garden that connects you from the main entrance to the building where the rooms are located is so nice and tranquil. The restaurant located in the main lobby offers a breakfast buffet that offers a nice selection of food, hand made tortillas, huevos rancheros (just ask for those), fresh fruit and my mouth is watering just writing this review. You will not be disappointed, please stay here during your visit to Tuxtla. Traffic can get a little crazy but don't worry. Enjoy.

This is my 2nd stay here, It is a luxury as far as Tuxtla goes but not quite up to US standards. No fridge in room which is a drawback. Nice pool and on site restaurant. The only thing I noted is that the bathroom smelled very sour. The shower dripped and I don't think there was enough ventilation. It started to smell. Besides that one detail (which I did not encounter on my first stay) I would highly recommend this hotel. The location is great too. Right next to Vips which serves both Mexican and American food. Just a few blocks from Applebees as well.

The pool area is nice and clean and very spacious. Breakfast is very good with buffet of fruit, bread, pastries, hot meals and mexican snack station (quesadillas, Omelette, tacos) . The rooms have a good size are clean and the a/c functions very well. There is parking available and it is a quicl ride to the airport and the center. I can recommend this place.

Very clean, modern hotel. Staff was hardworking and helpful. Most speak very little English, but were prepared to try and were patient with our even less proficient Spanish. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Beautiful pool and courtyard, really not exposed to the noise and chaos of the street. We needed a taxi at 4:00 am--they arranged for the hotel's driver to take us.

I stayed in this hotel for 3 days. After looking on Internet and asking in different hotels once I arrived to San Cristoabal this was the best choice to stay. It is very close downtown where the streets are so lively. They have some cheap price on their rooms and all of theri rooms are clean, colonial and beautiful. People in front desk are very friendly and they can show you a room without staying, just for you to see if the place is what you are looking for. I requested to stay in one of the 3 floor-quite places and the front desk person accepted without any extra charge. people that stay in the hotel were very respectful for people that want to sleep early and wake early to take an early tour. (it didint happen in some other noisy hotels where I stayed) Just the rpoblem is that they do not have a good wifi, but the hotel is totally recomended if you want to keep touring and just stay at night.

Excellent location and service Visited Feb 10-15 2019 the rooms are clean and lots of hot water everyday. These are prehispánica homes converted to small hotels that have a courtyard in the middle. During winter the rooms are cold but they give you enough blankets to keep you warm at night. The hotel is situated in a corridor where there is only pedestrian walking no traffic so at night it is quiet and the morning gathering for coffee may awake you if you have a room around the courtyard. I loved everything about this hotel centrally located and within feet of everything you need restaurants, coffee, shops and booking your tours. I will definitely return to this majestic town and hotel casa margarita.

Good location on Calle Real de Guadalupe, a street packed with a range of comida choices including Argentinian parilla. At night Guadalupe had a real buzz, street buskers, music, people strolling up & down. Hotel has nice ambience, attractively decorated courtyard, garden setting. Rooms were small but well kept. Staff very attentive & happy to help you. Handy & attractive painted map of Chiapas State on foyer wall.

It was an excellent place to rest. Comfortable. We spent 4 days in San Cristobal. Is near to downtown. In Andador Guadalupe. There are many stores, restaurants, cafeterias. You can find clothes, bags, backpacks with traditional design of indigens people. Nice hotel it's my recommendation.

This is a lovely small hotel near everything you'd want to do in San Cristobal but not on a bustling, tourist street. When we were there, it was amazingly cold and the staff was very helpful in providing a room heater and extra blankets.

This was my second stay within 1 week of traveling. Upon arrival, I was able to check in and room was on third floor facing parking lot again. I was glad I did not have room facing pool area as it can get loud. The room had a balcony and it was quiet but no view which was okay. I did use pool it was cool and just the right size, I think 5 ft throughout. There is a shower right by pool to rinse before and after using pool and a bathroom. I was able to use my room’s shower but it was bad. It did not have a good spray so had to stand close to wall to get water due to flow. If this would have worked it would have been a better stay but overall stay was not bad. Close to downtown, within a 5 min walk to main avenue and bus station. Would stay here again.

Very comfortable, large room and cleaned every day. The room had everything we could want, fridge, bedside lamps, hairdryer,balcony with table and chairs. The first room we were given didn’t have a great outlook so we asked to change which they arranged immediately and with no bother. The area round the pool was lovely with loungers and hammocks and there was always some shade. The pool was regularly cleaned of falling leaves. The restaurant served a variety of food of good quality and fairly priced. It was very pleasant to have candlelit dinners by the pool. The location was great, 5 minute walk to the bus station, 7 minutes to the market and 10 to the main square. The area was very pleasant and quiet with restaurants and coffee shops. We extended our stay and would highly recommend.

The hotel is small but really well-kept. It was clean, wonderfully situated and has great amenities for a small hotel. Wonderful pool that has a lot of shade, pool side service, a nice restaurant, and very friendly staff. The room we stayed in was not fancy but it had everything we needed (including wi-fi and tv), it was very clean, had air conditioning, and was quiet.

Excellent property in the middle of Palenque. Very clean and comfortable. Super friendly and helpful staff. A/c was wonderful. Our room also had a refrigerator. The pool was also clean and refreshing. Drinks by the pool at night was much needed after a long day at the ruins. Several restaurants within walking distance is safe, trendy area. We will definitely stay here in the future.

Loved the pool and the area around the pool where people could sit and enjoy the trees and landscaping. It was conducive to meeting other travellers.

The hotel is about a ten minute drive from Palenque centre and as a result calm and surrounded by forest. The grounds are well cared for and there are two pools (one was still being renovated when we stayed). The rooms are very clean with lovely bathrooms and hammocks outside. We really liked the small coffee machine in the room and the ice bucket that could be filled at the bar. Pool towels are provided and umbrellas when it rains! The restaurant was much better than we expected and we ended up eating there three times and only driving into Palenque once. It did lack atmosphere but the food was well cooked and they were very good at dealing with food allergies. The breakfast buffet felt a little expensive and not quite as good as dinner. Staff were helpful and cheerful. Basically it was the perfect location to relax, see and hear howler monkeys and explore the local area.

The property is beautiful, a series of buildings connected by lovely outdoor walkways, each with a few hotel rooms. Some rooms are quite a walk from the reception up an incline, but the staff helped us with our bags upon check in and check out. The outdoor spaces had beautiful plants, and we could hear howler monkeys at times and see interesting wildlife. The room was spotless and nicely equipped with a coffee maker, TV, good internet, effective a/c, a safe, and the bathroom had very nice soaps and shampoos. Staff were universally helpful, pleasant and welcoming. There was ample parking. The room was quiet, although we could hear housekeeping carts being moved outside in the morning. The main hotel pool was closed for repairs, but the second hotel pool was available for use. The location was ideal to visit the Palenque ruins, the town of Palenque and waterfalls and other attractions in the area.

Good location - we were driving ourselves and found it easily, left at the roundabout onto the ruins road, then you'll see the sign on the left after a few k. They initially gave me a room with a door adjoining another room (which isnt a hotel room in my opinion, its a shared apartment) which meant you could hear everything next door. To be fair once I informed reception this wasn't acceptable they moved me straight away. The grounds are very well kept and although I didnt use the pool it looked good, plenty of people were in it, the pool bar was never open however. I saw a lone howler monkey in a tree at the edge of the grounds which was cool, no macaws though (

Our room was spacious and clean. Beds a little hard, but OK. Bathrooms clean with adequate counter space and large shower. Air conditioned. Nice view and hammock outside our door. Beautiful grounds with large pool and 2nd smaller pool - very welcome after hot day at the ruins. Staff speak little English. Overall very nice resort-like hotel. Our major complaint is that the food is terrible.

The hotel and grounds are beautiful. The rooms are large. We arrived in the evening, staying one night. The next morning we took a short taxi ride to the ruins at Palenque. The hotel kept out luggage for the morning and allowed us to enjoy the pool until our transportation picked us up at 4:30 pm to return us to San Christobal de las Casas.

Perfect location for exploring the very walkable historic district and its many shops, restaurants and bars, yet when you step into the green inner courtyard it's like coming into a calm oasis from which the rooms accessed. (This is the hotel's second building across the street from the lobby main entrance). The staff was exceptionally wonderful, many of them multilingual and even studying my native German, and at night one employee would stay up in the courtyard despite the December cold to guard and help with the heavy wooden door, so I felt very safe there as a female traveling by myself. The entire area felt safe even late at night, and I returned on foot at 2:30am one night after a performance of one of my favorite bands at the nearby Cafe Bar Revolucion. The proximity to that bar was the reason for my choice of hotel, but the location felt safe enough to walk even longer distances at night. The breakfast at the hotel is excellent, and there is also a great little coffee shop next door. At night I turned on the little space heater in the room just for a short while before going to bed, worked fine. Next time I might ask for an upstairs room to have more daylight.

We never stayed in the main hotel with the desk but instead across the street. Was perfect we were the only ones there we seen all the rooms every style is very nice. The court yard is nice to wake up to and open the patio doors in the morning and get some early fresh air. Was great location main square was a 4 minute walk max. And in the other direction it's a quick stroll to a huge outdoor market. This place was just perfect though. The interaction with did have with the staff was very helpful (we removed the pipe under the sink because the girlfriend dropped her bracelet in there. Offered to pay for silicone to seal it back up and they just said no worries they will fix it no extra charge. Rooms were very clean from the three we seen.

We arrived around 9pm, had a few delays en route, had no issues getting checked in. The garden courtyard leading to our room had some work going on but was still beautiful. We found a great restaurant next door, funky burrito, for my first night ever in Mexico it could not have been better. I felt welcomed by everyone I encountered, after most were sceptical of my girlfriend and I travelling though Mexico by ourselves. The hotel is just a block away from the street markets and many restaurants, coffee shops, and culture. We didn't make it to it, being on a tight schedule, but there was a carnival of sorts with a Ferris wheel as well. I would love to make it back to San Cristrobal for a longer time I would stay here again.

Casa Mexicana is a great hotel to visit San Cristobal. Miguel and Elton at the reception, Sonia and Rey in the restaurant, and Francisco and Mateo the bellboys, were more than helpful and accommodating. The breakfast buffet is really good, and with the additional guacamole we ordered it turned into a feast. The fountain in the central courtyard gives a lovely and relaxing sound, and the armchairs placed in that area are perfect for sitting down and catching your breath after walking around San Cristobal. Our only complaint was the noise made by the water pump, but once we mentioned it to Miguel, he helped us switching us to a quieter room. He also helped us booking some tours (Palenque and Cañon del Sumidero).

El hotel está precioso, super bien ubicado, q unos cuantos metros del centro y corredor turístico, tiene un estilo colonial único y hermoso, las camas super cómodas y en general el hotel está de 10... Sin embargo mi hija olvidó una bolsa, marque al hotel a una hora de haberla olvidado para preguntar por la bolsa y aprecio con todo MENOS EL DINERO EN EFECTIVO, me parece super desonesto de arte del personal tomar lo que no es suyo( éramos los únicos alojados en la parte superior del hotel, donde mi hija olvidó la bolsa, justo afuera ade nuestra habitación)

I loved the vibe at Puerto Viejo Hostel — super chill but still social. The beds were really comfortable, and the whole place has this cozy, welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer than planned. There are plenty of social activities where it’s easy to meet other travelers, but it never feels forced. One thing that really stood out is how the staff remember your name, even with so many guests coming through. It makes the experience feel personal and warm, like you’re part of a little community. They also help you book local tours and activities directly, which I highly recommend instead of going through platforms like GetYourGuide. They know the best deals and it’s more authentic that way. Bonus tip: Don’t miss the Temazcal ceremony they host! It’s a traditional sweat lodge ritual — amazing to try as a first-timer. It’s intense in the best way, and a beautiful way to reset and connect

This hostel is absolutely fabulous! It provides Free Breakfast and Free Dinner at such a cheap price! Every day they provide different meals and they are all tasty!!! Also, they provide a lot of hostel activities like Spanish class, Salsa class at neglible price.They also provide many transportation options for me to connect to my next stop. (I joined a tour which shows me the 2 waterfall and Palenque site and dropped me off at Palenque. It is cheaper than taking ADO bus and going to Palenque to join tour there.) For the facilities, they have big locker for backpack. Hot water for shower. Free drinking water. Place to hang your towel. Lounge area has many place to charge your devices. They also have a table tennis table which brought me a lot of fun.

Puerta Viaja is amazing! I loved everything about it; all the fun activities, the amazing & delicious food which also brings all the travellers together in the morning and evening and the amazing employees (Eric, Carlos, Timo, Samuel and many more!). You get so much for the price you pay. It is a social hostel in which you can party but there are also enough opportunities to have a more calm day or evening. It just felt so at home, right from the moment I saw that they had a puzzle table (how cool is that!) I also liked that the hostel has filtered water which makes it easier to not get sick from the water in San Cristobal + the showers are hot which is nice because it can be quite cold in San Cristobal

Having two meals in a hostel is unheard of! And the food was really good. I especially enjoyed the breakfast each day. I loved everything about Puerta Vieja. The vibe was great among staff and volunteers. I visited during my birthday and everyone from the hostel went out of their way to ensure I had a great day, which I did. We did tours from the hostel and would definitely recommend the canyon tour. The garden and bar give the feeling of being at a really fun house party with people from all over the world. I would have stayed longer if I had the time!

I love puerta vieja hostel, Diana, Carlos and Alex were super friendly always looking to bring the best service and recommendations to enjoy your stay, the place is magical and perfect to build new connections so I got the best of the two worlds, I had the hostel experience with a private room to have better rest, paying an incredible cheap price. As mexican traveler I’m Impressed with the hostel food quality, you will get authentic Mexican breakfast and dinner prepared by native people included in the room cost.

The pool needed more water to be filtered and stay clean. Staff was notified and said they would fill the pool, but nothing was done. Also,the emergency phone at the pool was not answered; luckily no one was drowning....

The Holiday Inn Express is a very practical (perhaps the only?) option in Tapachula. The staff are helpful and friendly, and the room and facilities are clean. There is a nice pool and the gym equipment is not shabby. Everything works, which is not always the case around here. There is a good breakfast and a good selection of restaurants on the strip mall nearby. Eurocar rents from a booth in the lobby.

We stayed for a night when we were waiting for a flight after arriving from Guatemala. We had been under stress for days and were so relieved to check in to this property. It was super clean and comfortable. The staff was great. Great breakfast. Walking distance to restaurants. Even had a swimming pool. Would highly recommend it.
