Beautiful family run villa just on the outskirts of Colombo bordering Nugegoda. Both Rohan and Rukie are very kind warm and welcoming. I was extreme touched by the vegan 🌱 Bibikkan they brought in as a treat for my 50th birthday. The rooms are spotlessly clean and very cozy. The breakfasts are FABULOUS. They both really go above and beyond with local recommendations, laundry and even kept my suitcase safe while I traveled Sri Lanka for 2 weeks. This is an exceptional option in Colombo and a great value - don’t even hesitate to book here if you are lucky to find availability!

The Villa With Private Pool was amazing for couples . The Hotel staffs are very kind and welcoming. Had a wonderful time there . Definitely coming back . All the rooms are specious and very well equipped. This definitely is a Gem in the Heart of busy city.

I enjoyed the 2 nights stay. The facility has air-con, wifi, frege, lanudry machine, private pool. The large dining and a bedroom was VERY good and too large to stay alone. The best cost performance!

The hotel is just lovely: quiet place, everything is clean, big rooms with AC and fan, good pillows, hot water, TV and a pool, good wifi. We had a long flight, so it was perfect place to stay and have rest. We had very beautiful room on the 1st floor with a little garden. The hotel is not big, so you can feel privacy: I think only our family used the pool)) Very good kitchen, tasty breakfast and other menu. I would like to say thank you to the staff: they helped us with all the questions we had, starting from the taxi and sightseeing to the help with doctor. I definitely would recommend this place and will come again when visiting Colombo

The staff at the stay was extremely polite and professional, they helped us with our luggage as well as easy check in. The pool is well maintained and in a green lush space which adds to the night sky or the daylight. The place is aesthetically pleasing and you can enjoy your stay in colombo in a private yet easily accessible area. The services provided were more than enough to have a great time. The interiors, pools, room and bathroom were really well maintained and with proper hygiene. The room was spacious with a balcony and beautiful cupboard as well as television. Overall the place is a worth & must stay if you ever come to Colombo.

The Villa Raha is a huge 3-storey family villa converted into a B&B. The family does not actually live on site but staff are on hand 24 hours. What distinguishes this from other small guest-houses? It is located in a quiet side-street off a main road (Duplication Rd and the parallel Galle Rd that leads direct to the 5-star hotel area - a 10 minute ride by tuk-tuk/taxi). Convenient to town, it has about 6 to 8 rooms. It is newly renovated with an eye on exquisite and tasteful interior design and artwork throughout. The rooms are simply huge, with a lounge, a writing desk and excellent wifi, in addition to Apple TV, lots of channels, huge screen, etc. Huge bed, fresh linen. The bathroom is very spacious with quality shower-fittings and lots of hot water. The breakfast area is delightful (especially the huge banyan tree that is growing in the middle of it!). Amazingly there is also a swimming pool to cool off! Best of all is the very helpful and friendly youthful owner and his staff. We were pleasantly surprised and impressed. Would stay there again.

Lovely small hotel where the rooms are amazingly huge. Staff are friendly and helpful. Take time to look round Colombo as it’s a great city and very safe. Good food for breakfast. Would recommend.

Comfortable, simple and clean room with effective air con in a beautiful and peaceful setting. Great breakfast (choice of Sri Lankan or continental) and the staff were extremely hospitable and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

We have stayed in :Colombo on many occasions, but always in hotels. For a change we decided to book an apartment in the same area. The Colombo Residency or Crescat residency as its know is in a prime area of Colombo along the Galle Road. Situated next to the Cinnamon Grande Hotel it is within minutes of the Crescat Mall with its shopping and Food Hall situated on the Lower level. Here you can eat cheaply a variety of different foods Sri, Lankan, vegetarian(Indian) Mongolian, Thai and even pizza. You are minutes away from Galle Face Hotel and Green, The Ministry of Crab is a 5minute tuk tuk ride away. Fort railway station and Pettah market. the opposite direction is Liberty Plaza, Majestic City , Odell, Paradise Road , House of Fashion. There is a pool and Gym next door which you have access too. We were in a one bedroom apartment, the Décor was a bit 'tired' and was in need of updating but was spacious with a lounge and kitchenette, bedroom and bathroom. 24hr security. In terms of location, it can't be .beaten, we would definitely stay here again, perhaps in a 2 bedroom apartment. 3 wheeler tuk tuk rides, make sure they have a meter and its on. Otherwise they can quote any price

The property staff was so bad during check-in on first day 22Jul. We booked 3 Bedroom Accommodation for 3 days but his service to us as if we just hire dorm. He shouldn't work in hospitality business. Definitely No Service Mind At All! But the staff on following day (23Jul) so kind and nice. He moved us from 2nd to 20th floor. The way he do so different from yesterday staff. He's so polite.

Not really sea facing as they claimed while booking, but apart from that everything else was good.

Colombo Villa is a gorgeous sanctuary in a busy town. Our family loved the very large room, and especially loved the pool - but really there wasn't anything we could find fault with. And after we checked out at 11am, with 12 hours to kill before our flight, they were happy for us to set up a little basecamp near the pool and use their showers etc. so we left ready for the arduous trip ahead in the best condition possible. One of other guests visited Colombo five times a year for several weeks at a time, and had chosen Colombo Villa as her "home away from home" - and we can see why. The general neighbourhood was nice too - a short stroll from the National Museum and park, and a breeze to hail tuk-tuks if needed. And the pool is covered for when the occasional downpour strikes! 5 stars.

Spacious family room so did not feel cramped. Large bathroom. Hot water in shower. Clean rooms. Friendly manager and helpful and efficient staff member working in hotel. Quiet accommodation in a side road so away from noise of main road. We were able to use the shower room by the pool to refresh after check out as we had a late night flight. Only stayed 1 night in Colombo before our flight. Did not use pool or have meals at the villa.

We had posted a second review for Colombo Villa so we are not sure why it is no longer on Booking.com.. This is our home away from home in Colombo. Our second stay here was as wonderful as our first and we will definitely return on our next trip to Colombo. Our room was very spacious and super clean with an enormous, very comfortable bed and excellent air conditioning. With a well appointed bathroom and tea/coffee making facilities, and very efficient internet, there is everything you need for your stay. Should you require anything else, the wonderful staff will help you out. They cannot do enough for you, and are always available to assist you with suggestions about their town, arrange transport, or suggest restaurants, as well as smaller things such as ensuring you have enough towels for the pool. Breakfast is generous and delicious, and they went out of their way to provide plant-based options for dietary requirements. We highly recommend a stay at Colombo Villa on your visit to Sri Lanka.

Our stay at Colombo VIlla was the perfect start to our time here in Sri Lanka. Despite our very late arrival from an international flight, we were warmly greeted at the front door and we slept so well in the super comfortable bed. The staff are very considerate and can't do enough to make sure you have everything you need for your stay. Breakfast is delicious and extensive, and they kindly catered for my plant based dietary needs. At the end of each hot day, the very clean pool was a treat to return to and refresh before dinner at a locally recommended restaurant. There is plenty of hot water and good shower pressure, very effective wi-fi connection in our room and they provided fantastic suggestions for getting to know the city. Most areas are walkable, if you don't mind the heat, or short tuktuk rides away. We are staying again on our departure from Sri lanka, and are very much looking forward to returning to Colombo Villa.

We had a brilliant stay at Colombo Villa - the building is lovely and the staff are super hospitable. We thought it was a real treat to stay there. We highly recommend purchasing the breakfast: both the standard and the Sri Lankan dinner were delicious. The pool was a great way to refreshing after a long day exploring. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. We had the odd large bug and a persistent drain smell in the bathroom, which cleared when the fan was turned on - all part of the Colombo experience! Otherwise very clean. We had some trouble walking to a nearby restaurant - you might have to catch a tuktuk or taxi for something good. Otherwise, we felt safe walking around the local area. We would love to return!

We had the most incredible experience staying at this brand new hotel! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and comfortable — their hospitality truly stood out. The hotel itself is stunning, with breathtaking views that you could enjoy from nearly every corner. My room was absolutely beautiful, with modern, sleek decor and every amenity I could have asked for. What really made our stay unforgettable, however, was the food and the pool area. The hotel boasts multiple restaurants, each offering a unique dining experience. Whether it was a casual meal or something more upscale, every dish I had was delicious, fresh, and expertly prepared. We had the absolute pleasure of having a couples massage in the spa and it was unreal!! Overall, this was an amazing stay, and I can’t recommend it enough. The combination of outstanding service, gorgeous views, a luxurious room, and exceptional food makes this hotel a true gem. We’ll definitely be back!

Cinnamon Life city of dreams delivered. It was a pleasure staying at this almost brand new hotel. Staff were warm and welcoming attending to all our request. We enjoyed the beautiful cloud inspired artworks through the hotel. The facilities and restaurants were all fantastic although we did not have time to sample all restaurants during our short stay we enjoyed an incredible day relaxing by the Deams and Beats infinity pool sampling some delicious food and drinks. The dramatic Gants cocktail with a sunset view to the ocean are very special. We were lucky enough to be in an ocean view room and the room decor was comfortable and spacious with clever design features. My only criticism is for a new hotel they have not taken the opportunity to install filtered water although they use glass bottled water still reliant on single use plastics as they provide quality mini toiletry products. However I would recommend this hotel as a special escape in Colombo's bustling city.

We had a wonderful stay at Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams. We booked the suite, and the room was absolutely amazing with a great view. The service throughout our stay was excellent — friendly and attentive staff who made us feel very welcome. The highlight for us was definitely the buffet restaurant. Both breakfast and dinner were incredible! The food quality was top-notch — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Even though I'm not usually a dessert person, I have to say the desserts were outstanding. The sushi was also very good! The kids club was fantastic and kept the little ones entertained. We also enjoyed the well-equipped gym, and the pool area is just stunning — amazing view and a relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommended for families and anyone looking for a luxury experience in the city!

I had a pleasant stay from the start. Rabani gave me a personal tour when I arrived, which made me feel really welcome. Gym was clean and fully equipped actually to my surprise. I loved the spa and the massage treatment on a sand bed! They also had some amazing personal care products - quite pricey but definitely worth it - Randi was super helpful and patient while I decided what to get. The infinity pool was beautiful, and the hotel had so many restaurants, each specializing in their own cuisine. I tried Yorokō, the Japanese restaurant, and Staten, the steakhouse—both were excellent including the staff as well. Supun, the guest services coordinator, even upgraded me to a bigger room for a better ocean view, which was a really lovely gesture.

From the moment you arrive, the service is absolutely outstanding. The staff make you feel welcome right away and take care of every detail. The hotel offers multiple swimming pools and a great variety of restaurants to choose from. After traveling around Sri Lanka for a few weeks, it was wonderful to have the option to enjoy different cuisines again. The buffet restaurant was also excellent, with plenty of fresh and tasty dishes. The rooms are spacious, beautifully designed, and very comfortable, the beds are fantastic! It was the perfect place to spend the last couple of days of our trip, relaxing in luxury and enjoying all the amenities. Highly recommended as a wonderful and luxurious end to a Sri Lanka journey!

We stayed at the ITC hotel in Colombo for 7 nights in early March this year. This hotel far exceeded our expectations. The food was great as was our Tower room. A bonus was the complimentary drinks and snacks we received during the Luxury Hours between 5.30pm and 7.30pm each day, as well as the complimentary laundry of 4 pieces of clothing each day. But best of all was the service we received from each and every member of staff. It's difficult therefore to single out particular people for praise, as they were all excellent, but a few whose names I managed to remember and who went the extra mile are Dinethuma from Customer Relations on the front desk. She spent a lot of time getting to know us and kept in regular touch with us during our stay to make sure we were ok. Others who went the extra mile in terms of their smiles, welcome and general helpfulness were: Kanjana and Andrew from the Indian Pavilion restaurant, Mark from maintenance and Kavindu who served us from the bar on the 29th floor where live music is played every evening. The pool guys were also super helpful and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the ITC and will be returning next year.

The property was the most luxurious hotel we stayed in all of Sri Lanka! And we had some of the best food at the hotel, and also had quite a variety of cuisines to choose from various restaurants. The interior designs of the building was spectacular. The gym was spacious and we really loved the infinity pool. The live music and evening tea at Ahasa was one of the highlights of our stay. And most importantly, we met some of the most friendly staff at the property.

Amazing property and especially loved the decor and the architecture. I was attending a dinner there and stayed overnight as well. the bar, the buffet and the rooftop bar. Everything is top notch. The bathroom deserves a special mention too - so so comfortable. Due to time constraints, I was not able to use the pool but definitely next time. ...and last of all - THE BED. What an absolutely, amazingly comfortable bed it was. One of the best I have ever slept it.

The hotel is new and beautiful, the breakfast was excellent, with tens of different options. The pool it was like out of this worlds, especially the sunsets in the pool. When it comes to the room, it was spacious, clean and cosy. I may say the hotel has one of the best cleaning services i have experienced, i met their staff Achintha Kumara few times how he was cleaning the room, he was doing a detailed clean up. I also should add that the staff was gorgeous, my partner had an ear infection, and the hotel on their expenses took us to hospital, arranged the check, waited us for the treatment and brought us back to the hotel. Definitely, one of best services i have received in an hotel.

This is a fabulous hotel. Our room was huge, with a fantastic sea view and a very comfortable bed. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing and we also had dinner in the restaurant one night and had some lovely Sri Lankan food. The icing on the cake is the absolutely spectacular roof top infinity pool - without doubt the best pool I have ever experienced at a city centre hotel. You can have a old drink brought to your sun lounger too. This was so welcome after sightseeing in the heat and humidity of the city. If you are thinking of booking this hotel, don't hesitate- just do it!

The breakfast buffet was excellent, with outstanding service! The infinity pool was amazing, with unbelievable views and service within the pool area. Overall, it was a wonderful hotel stay and would fully recommend the hotel.

Though it's a 4 star hotel, it provides a higher level of service than 4 stars. We were upgraded to a better room for free upon checking in, our checkout time was kindly extended till 3 pm, the service was always fast and prompt. The breakfast is so plentiful and rich, it has dishes from arabic cuisine, local food, international. And everything is fresh and tasty, there are so many things to choose from. The swimming pool is very clean and there are multiple guards on site all the time. The pool also offers incredible views to the ocean and part of the city. Bathroom had all the amenities. They brought daily 4 bottles of water, soft drinks in the room bar were for free.

The inifinity pool was better than the photos. We expected it to be small and full of screaming children. Instead, it was bigger than expected and it was not overly busy. We could always find a lounge in the shade and didn't have to compete with hoardes to enjoy the pool with its amazing view. In addition we liked: buffet breakfast, outdoor seating with view for buffet breakfast, quiet and clean corridors, room-service dining, access to small shopping mall via elevator (didn't have to leave building). For us, most of our hotels in Sri Lanka were worse than the photos. This one was BETTER than the photos showed!

I recently visited a pool bar and took for a day pass package for pool access, and it was a fantastic experience! The location was perfect, offering a relaxing atmosphere with beautiful surroundings. The cocktails were absolutely amazing and the bar staff did an excellent job of recommending some cocktails to try. A special shoutout to Pathum and Rashmika at the bar, who provided exceptional service. They were friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. We had a wonderful time, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun and refreshing spot. Definitely a place worth visiting!

Great location. Across from Galle Face Park and coastal walk, internal entrance to Galle Face Mall which offers food and many shopping options. Pool facilities and Spa on L4 fabulous. Water and fruit nibbles offered at pool free to assist with hydration on very hot days was a lovely touch. Attentive, helpful and very friendly staff throughout the hotel. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Little things like our Towels being refreshed twice on our first day as we had arrived early and showered on arrival. Stunning view at night of Lotus Tower and it’s magical colours

I had an amazing time at the pool bar! The atmosphere was relaxing and perfect for unwinding with a drink. What made the experience truly memorable was the exceptional service from the staff. Special thanks to Praveen and Tharidhu, who went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. They were friendly, attentive, and made me feel very welcome throughout my visit. The drinks were excellent, the service was seamless, and their warm hospitality really stood out. I highly recommend the pool bar—Praveen and Tharidhu will make your visit truly enjoyable!

I had a wonderful experience at the pool bar during my recent stay at the Shangri-La Colombo. The atmosphere was relaxing, with stunning views and a perfect setting to unwind. A highlight of my visit was the Strawberry Paloma it is a refreshing, perfectly balanced cocktail that truly hit the spot. Special thanks to Pathum and Tharindu , the talented bartenders who crafted it with such care and attention to detail. His friendly service and passion for what he does made the experience even more memorable. Highly recommend stopping by the pool bar if you're staying at the hotel.

Great stay at this hotel in Colombo. Front desk staff Hansika and Purnima were especially helpful. Pool was nice and infinity pool. Room was very clean. The AC was cold (maybe almost too cold) but I was able to turn it off when needed. One issue that should be addressed is the smell of the drain near the bidet - was in room 1905. I did not use the bidet but that drain makes the bathroom smell like sour water. I didn’t complain to staff at front desk as I knew there wasn’t likely much they could do about this, however building management should look into this.

My stay at Amari Colombo was truly exceptional. The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, with easy access to shopping, restaurants, and bars. The room was spotless and offered breathtaking views of the sea and sunset, creating a perfect atmosphere for relaxation. Breakfast was diverse, catering to various preferences, ensuring a satisfying start to each day. The rooftop infinity pool was stunning, providing a fantastic panoramic view of the city and the ocean. Dining at Prego Italian Restaurant was a highlight, offering a wide variety of delicious options and a charming setting to unwind in the evening with live music while overlooking Colombo’s vibrant city lights. Overall, a memorable stay with excellent amenities and service.

I was so lucky having chosen Amari for my stay in Colombo. It is a great new hotel, with spacious and comfortable rooms, fantastic views other the city or the ocean, professional and friendly staff and stunning rooftop swimming pool and restaurant. It is a great value for money too. The food was delicious and well presented, both for breakfast ( both Western and Sri Lankan specialties) and room service. Did not try buffet dinner but will do so next time. If you are looking for a place to stay at either start or end of your tour to Sri Lanka, look no further than Amari Colombo.

Nice and new hotel, and good price. Would stay again. The roof top pool is small, but very nice. The location is also good. Breakfast Selection is big and ok, but not the most premium. For instance they did not have real juice (but some sort of nectar). Only issue in the hotel is that it is too cold. Aircondition is at around 18-19 degrees, making the breakfast cold before you sit down. I see its the same in other hotels in the area, but it is annoying to have to wear a jacket inside…

stayed here on the last day of our trip. This was an exceptional hotel. Clean, modern and the attention to detail is surperb. From the moment we walked through the door Shamin and Nethmi looked after us. They made check in a breeze, cold towels on arrival and a lovely refreshing drink. They took us to our room, and showed us around the magnificent hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel, the roof top pool and restaurant/bar have exceptional views over looking Colombo and the ocean. Wish I had to stayed longer.

We stay here often - good quiet villa which is reasonably located to get around - rooftop pool which is small but useful to get a bit of sunshine. Rooms have all the basics but vary in size - but all good for a short stay. The suite is very big and well appointed if you want to spend a bit extra. They have a Japanese restaurant on the roof as well - reasonable food but a bit pricey - but handy on nights we fly home. Breakfast is basic but it very pleasant on the patio next to a Japanese garden. The staff are very good and keen to help. We like it because we can have business meetings there in a relaxed comfortable environment.

Very nice accommodation with clean, comfortable rooms. The staff was very friendly, we arrived much earlier than the actual check-in time, but were able to leave our luggage without any problem until the room was ready for the agreed check-in. Unfortunately, we were only in Colombo for one night, so we were unable to use the pool or the restaurant due to time constraints, but everything looked very good. The accommodation is definitely one of the more upscale accommodations, but you get a nice facility and good service.

Everything. The hotel is very beautiful, rooms are spacious and comfortable. The decoration of all the spaces is very well cared for. Both restaurants are a must, because of the food and the atmosphere. The rooftop pool is a big plus. But without a doubt the best thing is the staff, super friendly and always willing to help to make your stay a pleasant one. Special mention to Madhu, who works at the reception, who went out of his way to make me feel at home.

Older building restored, so understand that. Excellent dining options (non guests came here to eat). Small Roof top pool. Adjacent roof top bar. Zen garden. Room(s) had a long balcony on the bedroom side, and a huge balcony porch on the other. WiFi isnt great (slow) but other than that if you had a stove a person could live here. Its a 1 bedroom apartment basically. Area is upper class it seems, several consulates and ambassadors on this street

Zylan Colombo was mind-blowing! The architecture of the hotel is just incredible. The rooftop restaurant has captivating views of the city and the pool to go with it. The staff were super helpful. The Japanese restaurant was so good and the portions huge. I wish we were staying there longer than that to take further advantage of the hotel. We will be back!

Great hotel in Colombo. We arrived early but was able to check in when we arrived- that was really nice! We was also able to have a late check out in the afternoon- both free of charge. Great service ! Pool with chairs and city view . Bar and restaurant are also placed at 10 floor so you have the view of the city. The room was equipped with what you need. Only thing that would have been great was that the area by the pool was set with minor chairs and tables by the big empty area - it has potential :-) Concierge Sadhers is a really polite person who will make you fell welcome when arriving and ensure you continue your travel safely

Amazing views at rooftop pool and 10th floor for sunset. Very comfortable bed for first nights in Sri Lanka after a long journey. Pool is lovely.

I loved my stay at Sofia so much I stayed twice during my time in Sri Lanka. From the moment I walked in I was greeted with smiling faces from the bell hop to the receptionists. Dinithi was so sweet, helpful and kind. Anytime she saw me she would greet me and ask if I needed anything. Sadhees was always there to assist me as I left or returned the hotel. Shehan went above and beyond to help me with my laundry during my stay. He made sure everything was perfect and even helped to fix some things for me. Rashmi delivered room service with care, a smile, and never forgot anything. The room was fantastic!! I had a view of the city and the sea. It had great soundproofing! The bed and pillows were very comfortable!! Sheets were fresh, clean, and soft. (I hate when they are overused and washed and begin to get rough, so these were nice). The shower was fantastic!!! You could have a normal shower or a rain shower or both at the same time!! Good pressure and temperatures lasted the entire shower time. Breakfast and deserts were good. The dining room was nice and staff were great there too. The pool and view from the roof top was amazing!!

Myself and my fiance stayed at Sofia for two nights in February 2025. The hotel was perfect! From the food, to the views, to the staff and location. We got in late and were met by the kind doormen who helped us and our bags to our rooms. After a great sleep we woke to sea views, a great buffet breakfast and a swim in the rooftop pool. Each time we left the the hotel, the door staff were so helpful in organising lifts and helping carry out bags. My parents came to visit one afternoon and Mahesh and Prasanna were the best in welcoming them - my parents were left disappointed that they hadn't booked into Sofia as well. Would highly recommend Sofia for anyone staying in Colombo.

All was absolutely amazing. The hotel offer a super confortable situation, room immaculate.all is cleane . Amenities you need are there. Service is great. The terrace has an amazing view. The swimming pool is a plus not to miss and the water is clean. I cannot ask for nothing more. A special note and Thanks from heart, that made the real difference for me was the presence of Miss DINITHI. She is super professional, smiling , ready to help, prepsred, with a very good english. Make my check in smooth and plaisent. Make my stay the perfect one. She is the perfect person to manage with guests. All my thanks and congratulation. Nothing i can add to all the perfection.

Excellent value, great pool Very nice, centrally located hotel. Great infinity pool with a view onto the entire city. Good quality food both on the pool deck and the restaurant downstairs. Good cocktails for a good price. Excellent service and attentive staff. Comfortable and clean rooms. Highly recommend for your 1-day stopover as the first or last day of a proper Sri Lanka vacation.

I loved hanging out at the roof top restaurant and swimming pool. It is my most favorite place to relax watching the sun go down or the rain falling down. The Gym was located right next door, so my morning routine was to go to the Gym, then wind down by the pool before heading for an amazing buffet breakfast waiting for me at the ground floor restaurant. The staff were very friendly and checked on me making me feel safe. I felt like living in a house with family. I would definitely return.

I booked this property as it was billed as a 5 star on expedia. Its was a new property and the rooms were very clean, but it definitely was not 5 star in the way most people would expect. The breakfast buffet was very small and mostly catered for asian cuisine, there was one other small restaurant / bar on the top floor, which was reasonable. The pool was tiny. Its also on the top floor and a small strip of water that runs along side the bar. Anyone thinking they are going to spend their day sunbathing by the pool would be sadly disappointed.

I had a truly wonderful stay at Jetwing Colombo Seven in Sri Lanka’s captivating city of Colombo! I was particularly impressed with the chains ethos of sustainability: a feature that the hotel employs throughout in its practices. The staff here are absolutely fantastic - Chathurika and Samantha on the reception desk made sure my stay went smoothly, and in general, everyone working at Jetwing Colombo Seven are committed to making their guest’s time here a positive experience. My room was gorgeously outfitted in textural wooden tones, with a huge king size bed, and beautiful bathroom. A host of amenities, including free water, tea and coffee, and a well stocked minibar, were also included. The breakfast, served on the ground floor in an expansive light filled dining room, was delicious, with a host of options, both continental and Asian. The highlight of Jetwing Colombo Seven, though, is undoubtedly its panoramic rooftop space - the views out over Colombo from up here are spectacular and I had a mesmerising final evening in the infinity pool, sipping my handcrafted arrack based cocktail, and enjoying the glittering surrounds.

Great hotel for a short stay. Very close to so many places and the staff are very friendly. the ladies at the Reception were super helpful. i did not use many facilities, but having no pool was a trick. the gym was small but enough for my needs.

Our stay here was fantastic. Newish hotel. Great and very helpful staff. Nice sized room with a great ensuite that was all tiled, and had a shower recess. it had a lock box/safe. It had bar fridge that was very handy. Great aircond. NO NOISE from outside. Close to the stylish port area and the Pettah markets. Close to several local supermarkets to stock up on food and drinks we wanted. Plenty of tuktuks around. There are many restaurants and coffee shops very close by, some open 24/7. Walking distance to the famous Pettah shopping markets, and also some local market places as well. We had several issues with TV and internet, but they sent a maintenance person up promptly to fix these issues.

The reception was well air conditioned and a wonderful reprieve from the humidity. The staff throughout were all exceptionally professional and pleasant. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was absolutely gorgeous and the bed was the most comfortable bed i think i have ever slept on. Breakfast was beautifully laid out and plenty of options. I appreciated being able to leave my bags there until it was time to catch the train. Great location as well. We arrived late and ordered room service. Club sandwich and spaghetti. Was quick to arrive and both were delicious. I can’t imagine anyone not being happy to stay here. We were in a suite, room 603. Wifi was great as well

The hotel is under very good management. Staff were well trained and well mannered. Hotel decorations were mordant and slick. Rooms are comfortable, my room came with big windows with pleasant city views. I also like the fact that the front desk gentleman was very efficient. He let me look at rooms on different directions and on different floors. It really makes me feel that they want you to be happy. The check in was easy and quick, a glass of orange juice was offered when you most needed. I had extended my stay. Would have extended more nights if the rain stopped. By the way, they offered umbrellas for guests.

I had an amazing stay at Zest! The team was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the experience feel very comfortable. The rooms were spotless, and the bed in particular was extremely cozy I had a great night’s sleep. I would definitely recommend Zest to others and will certainly be staying here again. The only point to note is that the food prices are a bit on the higher side for locals (for example, a chicken biryani is LKR 2,490, whereas in nearby restaurants it’s usually around LKR 1,500–1,700). Overall, a wonderful experience with excellent service and accommodation.

This was a lovely hotel. Clean modern and we loved the rooftop bar/pool. Breakfast was very nice and we loved looking out at the ocean through the window. The view from the pool was amazing and we really enjoyed the bar food and drinks.

Great location. Rooms spacious and a great view of the ocean and railway line. Our room was partial view and was perfect. Breakfast was excellent. The pool is just a ‘get wet pool’ with no shade to relax and soak away the day! Restaurants, supermarket, and CBD not far away

We spent 2 nights Jan 30-Feb 1 at MaRadha hotel. We were warmly welcomed with smiles by Induwara and Menura. They quickly had us checked in and arranged for our bags to be brought to our rooms. We had booked an interconnected room which was a great option for our family. Induwara took us to our room and showed us the amenities and explained everything. The rooms and bathrooms were immaculate. Multiple water bottles were provided as well as tea and coffee. We explored the cafe on the main floor as well as the rooftop lounge and pool. The views from the rooftop of the ocean as well as city were breathtaking. Breakfast was included in our booking. Fresh breads, fruits, omelettes and an offering of local cuisine was provided as well as juices, coffee and tea. We wished we had booked more days at this hotel as we found it just a great place to rest after a long day of exploring the city. Checkout was seamless with Menura, Tharindi, and Thamara who arranged our bags to be brought down. We would recommend this hotel to anyone considering staying in Colombo. Such a great value but with high end amenities. Thank you MaRadha hotel for the wonderful experience.

This was our first place when we arrived to Sri Lanka. It was beautifully arranged with amazing rooftop restaurant and bar where we ate our first Sri Lankan dinner and drank fantastic smoothies. There is also a pool there, but it was out of use in the evening when we usually went there. Room was so comfortable with an amazing view to the ocean. We decided that this would be also our last place in Sri Lanka. And so we came again and tasted the richest breakfast on our journey, there was dozens and dozens of foods to taste. Brilliant. Also, so much amazing fruit to choose. We enjoyed our stay so much. The personel is the best ever. They helped us with finding rides and saved us few times, so I really wanna point out that the staff was amazing. The capuccino I drank at the cafe bar downstaires was so amazing that it beats some od the best I drank. There you can also try some cakes. I totally highly recommend. 10/10.

I really appreciate being able to look at the ocean out my window. The location is almost halfway between two the major airports and located in a very popular shopping district. People of Sri Lanka are very kind at this hotel and delivered exceptional service. I stayed for 3 days. All of the staff that I encountered was friendly, helpful, courteous, and prompt. The took care of every question and need that I had. I have been in Sri Lanka for 3 weeks and traveled all over the country. They have such a well balanced breakfast, it was fresh and had Sir Lanka inspired dishes along with standard breakfast staples. They have a small gym on ground floor that served me well with weights, yoga mats, and elliptical and treadmill. Roof top pool to cool off in and enjoy the view. A Spa on the 7th floor there was wonderful Ayurvedic treatments and massage. The rooms were the right size, great hot water and house keeping services. Wonderful stay.

The gentleman at check in was so lovely, very polite and friendly! The room was a lovely big size with a big comfy bed. Air con worked perfectly but as it wasn’t overly warm it wasn’t needed for long. The bathroom was lovely, enclosed shower and a lit mirror which I love! Location worked well for me as I didn’t want to stay anywhere near fort station, way too busy for me, whereas this is near the parks and they’re lovely to visit, a much calmer side of Colombo. The rooftop pool, albeit bare, is a perfect escape! There’s three levels up there depending on if you want a pool or just rooftop seating with great views! Very very happy with my stay here

The staff were great, rooms were comfortable, rooftop pool was small but a welcome relief from the heat of Colombo. The view from the seating area adjacent to the pool was fantastic, especially in the evening. Breakfast was really good. My friends and I really enjoyed our stay here.

The room was very spacious and comfortable. The little pool was wonderful space to relax. The host was great – allowing us to stay at the pool after we checked out since our flight was late in the evening. Location is good as well – on a quite street.

Very nice owner or manager (don't really know who he was), very friendly employees. Good standart for Sri Lanka breakfast. We didn't had time to spend in the swimming pool, but the view from the roof where pool is located is nice!

Nice location in a quieter street in busy Colombo. Spacious room and small rooftop pool. The host was really friendly and let us use the pool before checking and leave the luggage after checkout.

Other hotels might try to emulate the Galle Face with their modern colonial architecture but they do not have the same authenticity. With over 100 years experience in hospitality this hotel provides excellent service and superior accommodation. From the welcome given by the concierge service in their liveried cream jackets to the professional lifeguards at the 30m seawater pool, you are at once treated to an unforgettable stay here. Big thank you to Sujith for sorting out our upgrade and to Adja and his team for all their work at the pool. Already looking forward to our next stay here.

This is a gorgeous old seafront property that I first stayed in 40 years ago. They have, thankfully, upgraded the bathrooms since my original stay and the rooms are really lovely and in keeping with the style/age of the property. Breakfast is a delight with fantastic choices both Asian and western at The Verandah and the staff in the morning are lovely and really helpful, even bringing a cake to the table with candles and singing to my husband on his birthday! Insist on a king room if you want a larger bed as they seem to have many twins. They definitely need to do some maintenance on the outside of the property, pool deck has issues and there were electricity problems in the bathrooms/gym near the pool. The housekeeping is also inconsistent, we had one person who was fabulous for the first night and thereafter things were missed. Despite a few failings I will return to this hotel!

A beautiful hotel embracing the colonial history. The view out to sea is lovely. There are a variety of different bars and restaurants within the hotel so you can eat and drink what you want when you want. The swimming pool is great for cooling off, towels provided at the pool. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

My six months of travelling in Sri Lanka sadly draws to an end. During that time, I’ve stayed in private villas, hostels and family homes. For my final two nights in the capital city, I wanted some luxury with a colonial touch. An iconic landmark that would hold a lasting memory. For over 160 years, Galle Face Hotel has blended colonial charm with modern elegance, earning its place as the Grande Dame of South Asia and the most iconic destination in Colombo. Celebrates such as Steven Spielberg, Che Guevara, Earnest Hemingway, Sting, Sade, Robbie Williams, Lord Mountbatten and Richard Nixon have stayed here. The buffet is fantastic and I’m not a fan of these at all. Service is impeccable and staff go above and beyond to ensure you have a memorable stay whilst here. They’re proud to work here. The pool is unfortunately salt water and not chlorinated. The views are spectacular and for once I never left the hotel. This very unusual for me. The passionfruit frozen daiquiri is to die for as is the cheesecake. The mutton Rogan Josh was delicious, the sweet selection, gin & tonics and of course the Lion draught beer. This was impulsively booked right at the last minute. My room was fit for a prince, overlooking the Indian Ocean and Galle Face Green. Spectacular and what an outstanding front of house team. A touch of class, sophistication and elegance.

We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children 11 and 16) and we stayed at the Galle face hotel for 2 nights at the start of our holiday in Sri Lanka. It’s a very charming hotel that oozes history and character in every corner of the hotel. We stayed in a family room which was small but very comfortable and nicely furnished and we had a seafront view. The facilities were very good - a lovely sea water swimming pool, and a gym. We ate at the buffet restaurant as were on half board package and the food was excellent - also great breakfast and our first experience of the delicious Sri Lankan hoppers. We loved the travellers bar as well especially the homage to all the famous celebrities who have visited the hotel over the years!! The location of the hotel is good. The Galle face green opposite the hotel has a really good vibe in the evenings with lots of people hanging out and flying kites. Only 10-15 mins away from other spots of interest like the old Dutch hospital, the jami ul Alfar mosque and Pettah market. Finally the service was superb - everyone we encountered was so friendly and helpful. Overall we would definitely recommend the Galle face hotel if you’re looking for a high quality hotel with old world charm.

Massive hotel with lots to do. There is something to do for all ages of guests. Rooms and bathroom are clean and big. The bed was so comfortable. The staff is so kind and helpful. Food was exceptionally good. Every single thing we tried was delicious . I would definitely come back here for the food alone. The pool area was the best part. My kids had a safe wading pool to play in. The area is surrounded by lush greenery and it’s so peaceful. We loved the spa too. The prices are reasonable and service is top notch.

Large but still friendly. Best location for Colombo. Staff remember names and preferences, especially the exec lounge staff and Gihan at the poolside. Room comfortable, facilities fine. Fantastic hotel breakfast with incredible variety, especially of Sri Lankan foods. Executive room worth the extra for the afternoon tea, cocktails and 4 laundry items over a 3 night stay. The pool and the garden are still the best. Now also featuring a banyan tree full of flying foxes so ideal for nature watching from your sun lounger.

Super friendly and fast check-in. Great and attentive staff. We were meeting a friend who lives in Colombo and the hotel was super convenient because we ate dinner at their fabulous, world class buffet at Plates. Nice pool with poolside restaurant. Easy for early morning flight out of CMB.

Staying at Cinnamon Grand in Colombo was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, stunning service, and Sri Lankan warmth. If you ever wonder what makes Sri Lanka truly special, this is a place that captures it in full. From the moment I walked into the grand lobby, I felt welcomed. The high ceilings, elegant décor, marble floors, and art installations give Cinnamon Grand a classic yet modern luxury vibe. The staff greeted me like I mattered, not just another guest that personal touch is something you don’t always get elsewhere. The room was gorgeous: large windows with views of the city and the sea, a plush king‑size bed, a bathroom with both bathtub & walk‑in shower, bathrobes, slippers all the little thoughtful touches. Turndown service with fresh towels and chocolates made it feel very special. Food Incredible. With 14 restaurants under one roof, there’s something for every mood. From authentic Sri Lankan village‑style food at Nuga Gama, to fine dining at The London Grill, and the delightfully laid‑back vibe at Coffee Stop, every meal was an experience. The breakfast buffet alone was a feast: so many choices, fresh, beautifully presented. Facilities are top notch: two outdoor pools to cool off, a spa for deep relaxation, a well‑equipped gym, and the shopping mall right next door (Crescat Boulevard) makes it easy to grab anything extra you need.

OK, it's a 5 star hotel, so expectations are very high, but we found that it more than met our expectations. The 'Premium' room we had was great - a very large dual aspect corner room. The bed was large and extremely comfortable, the shower was great and the WiFi worked perfectly for us. Security was tight, which we felt was a good thing, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. The swimming pool was large and the solarium had plenty of sunbeds, both in the sun and in the shade. We really enjoyed Cheers Bar for its Happy Hour and you are spoilt for choice with the on-site restaurants.
