Atha Resort is simply amazing. The staff was extremely kind and helpful, especially the service at breakfast - and food was really good! Our room was spacious and beautiful, and the private pool was so great. The location is close to many sights easily accessible by Tuk Tuk.

Amazing facilities, food and staff were so helpful and always checking in on us. We stayed in a deluxe room which was huge with a plunge pool and a view of Pidurangala Rock. We stayed for 3 nights, but would have been happy to stay longer!

The best hotel in our 3 week trip (out of 10 hotels). The room was massive, bed was really comfortable and the private pool was gorgeous. Staff were really lovely and the restaurant had so much choice. Sad we couldn’t stay longer!

Beautiful grounds with a water garden running through the property. Amazing breakfast - don't fill up on the bread and pastries as more will be coming! We had a private pool, which was a privilege and the staff are wonderful.

We booked the Chalet Suite Triple with Private Pool and we would do it again even though we were only 2. The accommodation was incredible, super well maintained and comfortable. very nice place to stay. Good to do excursions from there, like to stay and relax at the hotel pool or privet pool

Beautiful little family-run hotel. Rooms are gorgeous (ask for the one with the beaut little private pool!). Set in lush grounds where we saw bats at night, a Sri Lankan giant squirrel and plenty of birds. The pool area is outstanding for swimming or relaxing.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Great value, lovely staff and decent breakfast. We did two nights here, one night in a standard room and one night in a room with a private pool. Private room was worth it, lovely and new.

We stayed in the Superior Room which has a private pool. The whole stay was wonderful. The staff were very attentive and there are golf buggies to ferry you around. The a la cadre was much better than the buffet but the food was still generally good. The swimming pools are excellent.

The property is impressive. You arrive in a spacious, beautiful arrival hall. The rooms are aesthetically spread over the property. You walk by the lake on your way from the public spaces to the room. Yes, you are surrounded by nature, and still so close to Dambulla and Sigiriya. We had two different room categories: The superior one with private pool and a regular villa. Both rooms were spacious and very comfortable. The private pool looked amazing (as the public pool too). Unfortunately, due to heavy rain, we weren't able to use any during our stay. We would highly recommend staying there at least 2, best 3 nights, to make the best out of the beautiful facilities and the sightseeing spots in the area. Keep in mind that there are no touristic outside eating options within 20 minutes driving, which means it is really a good idea to book half board unless you have your own vehicle or driver and don't mind driving extra for every meal.

Excellent location and pools. Pity they closed the pool when it rained- we only stayed one night so couldn’t use the pool as much as we’d have liked! Otherwise beautiful property and delicious buffet!

The location, facing the Lake, surrounded by such a lush nature, can justify itself the rate for a stay here. We had lunch, dinner and breakfast here, and all food was extremely good. Positive feedback about the massage at the SPA too Extremely helpful staff! We loved the pool located far from the main building (the 2 pools adjacent to the main building were busier)

Everything was perfect. The location was superb. The staff is so friendly. Chef Madura and team gave our little one a surprise birthday gift. The food was delicious with a range of varieties. Main pool, a signature pool and the lake really match the location. There is an excellent wellness centre-Wedamadura with a qualified and friendly team.

Beautiful, relaxing resort with an amazing pool with a view. enjoyed our stay in this impressive hotel. The entrance is sublime-up the stairs and into a vast foyer with the wonderful view over the pool, forest and onto the rock fortress in the distance. Rooms are spacious and spread out over the vast resort area-beautiful gardens including a butterfly walk-filled with native birds were a delight. Food in the Chines restaurant was excellent and we were pleased to find out that this restaurant opened at 5:30pm which was great after some very early starts. Service at the pool was friendly and the pool itself is amazing. Wait staff in the restaurants were wonderful and helpful and always with a smile

I have travelled extensively and I have to say, the hotel pool is AMAZING and I don't use that word lightly! The architecture overall is really impressive and the pool has been designed as the centre piece, as though sitting within the jungle with a stunning view of the Lion's Rock, it's delightful! The staff are super helpful and kind, rooms good size with comfort in mind. Great breakfast, we ate lunch and dinner there. I thought the buffet was good value, but there is also the a la carte and their other restaurants to try for variety. Really good equipped gym and badnington court. I tried the spa which was a nice experience. This was the last destination on our trip and by far are most luxurious; superb value for money, considering it's a 5 star. Thank you Team Aliya, we loved staying at your wonderful hotel and hope to return to one day. I've already recommended you to friends who are travelling to Sri Lanka next year!

The entrance was fantastic, if you like taking videos you wanna get your phone out when you walk up the stairs. The greeting was perfect, relaxed, welcome drink, formal but relaxed. The room was brilliant, we had a chalet, incredible layout, very spacious and comfortable, shower needed some attention but the bath was perfect. Pool wonderful, wow, wow wow. The service was a bit slow for drinks around the pool but that's literally the only complaint of the place. Dinoker was always on hand and a really good guy, also Roshin who never seems to have a day off, working in all restaurants all day everyday an absolute gentleman, so friendly and laughs all the time. Brilliant members of staff

The rooms were very spacious. Hospitality was brilliant. Ajith and his team do a great job maintaining the stunning pool. Photos were nice but the pool in person was exceptional.

Fantastic service, very nice genuine staff. Beautiful deluxe suites with the private plunge pool set in the heart of nature. The excursions are overpriced but the Balinese massage definitely worth the money. Really enjoyed our stay.

Interesting villa style hotel with majestic peacocks walking the property. Amazing and spotless room with top notch decor, attention to detail, and its own plunge pool. not far from Sigiriya Rock... and had a nice view from my patio. The food was better than i expected and the service was fantastic. My only negatives would be: the hotel is located in the wild, with minimal landscaping, so there is some insect life, which some people may be sensitive to, and that there is not much else in the area, so you are pretty much stuck at the hotel unless you do safari or sightseeing excursions.

We stayed overnight at the Water Garden Sigiriya and we were glad that we made the right choice. The villas were in excellent condition and they were very clean. We love the view from the resort and had a lovely stroll and biking in the compound. The kids loved the pool too! It was such a fantastic experience that the kids were proposing to revisit Water Garden again for a longer stay.

Last night in Sri Lanka and what a place to stay at! Beautiful location with views of Sigiriya Rock from the pool and restaurant area. The villas are very modern, clean and have a bed you could get lost in. The staff are friendly and the food was excellent. Can’t fault it!

One of the most unique stays we have had anywhere. With the possibility of elephants and monkeys and all sorts of creatures within the grounds you really feel on the edge of the jungle but in safety. Lakshan, Hesita and Rajitha were superb host and helped us above and beyond. We stayed in one of the two presidential suites and these are amazing large spaces. With your own separate pool room and plunge pool you can spread out and relax. We stayed for 4 nights over my 60th birthday and the team couldn’t have done more to make our stay a joyous occasion. The treatments were well run and very professional and we had one each day included in the price

The most amazing stay in Sri Lanka. Resort is surrounded by forest & lakes from all sides. Huge landscape with a direct view to the most famous Sigiriya rock. My villa had its own plunge pool facing the jungle and I was so lucky to see elephants passing by while in it. This was truly an amazing experience. Villa is huge & spacious, very clean. Staff here is so friendly and very attentive to you. They will spoil you with their love and care, I will miss their beautiful smiles. Ayurveda treatments were exceptionally good. Therapist was so kind and did an amazing job. Had a lovely herbal bath which was so relaxing with zero disturbance as it was too facing the jungle, one can only hear birds. Meals & snacks were mouthwateringly tasty. They only serve very healthy options at meal times. I wish I had more time to spend here, but most certainly be back. A big thanks to everyone at Ayugiri for this amazing experience.

The staff could not have done more for us, they were so attentive, kind, thoughtful, helpful and friendly. The main pool was just wonderful, and the pool attendees did a great job of clearing all the leaves and making sure we had cushions and towels, despite us being the only people using it for our entire stay. The Ayurvedic treatment that we had was really professional and a great experience, despite our reservations and uncertainty around it (just a new experience for us!) The room was big, and the bathrooms were great, and the room was made up every day. The location was so peaceful, with just the sounds and sights of nature. A little scary on the first night but we came to love it. The food for dinner was absolutely delicious and really well made, and our waiter was really attentive. We even had a really special private dinner set up for us with fire beacons and lanterns and a special mocktail, this was a highlight for us. We had bicycles to help us get around the resort, but after dark or when heading to the treatments they came and picked us up with a buggy, which was perfect. They were always on time and really easy to communicate with via WhatsApp, coming back within a couple of minutes nearly every time.

It is one of the best places we have ever stayed! Amazing architecture. We stayed at Bakmee Upper and Lower Chalet. Kayaking was an amazing experience specifically in the lake with lots of trees. The food was good, and they prepared separate small meals for the kids too. Friendly staff. Very spacious rooms and washrooms. Comfortable beds. The plunge pool with a jacuzzi is nice; wish it was a little bigger pool. Lots of peacocks and many birds can be seen. Highly recommend. Admirable place.

It was a perfect stay in nature... really relaxing and watching birds in their natural habitat...so many activities to do with kids nature walk and paddle boat was extra ordinary..our kid really enjoyed it...our stay at lower bakmi with plunge pool was completely heaven lost in nature.its calm and quiet

This luxury nature resorts is a excellent place for the nature lovers who interest to been with nature, calm, quiet environment with peaceful mind. Also since this has around 150 acres you can do lot of activities like walking, cycling, bird / nature watching, Kai /pedal boats while enjoying the surrounding ( village, mountain, water, heavy trees, paddy fields, vegetable and fruit gardens, marshy, etc), Even,for kids they can run and play walk ways as they wish freedomly. Also Natural water common pool surrounded with trees and also Plunge Pool attach to chalet with cool/chill water gave a very nice experience Had great hospitality, support & service during our short stay there. We enjoyed it a lot and kind and gentle service was a lot more mean to us to had a wonderful and comfortable stay there. Also, want to mention about delicious foods and various food menus / recipes with nice serving (both English and Sri Lankan) which made us so enjoyable.Finally, cleaning the place regularly and keeping it clean, providing comfortable transport with in premises make us more comfortable. This stay made us a very pleasent experience. Kudos to Kalundewa Retreat Team.

We enjoyed our stay. The staff were overall very helpful and available. Loved the private plunge pool which had jets! It was definitely conducive to the relaxing and chill trip we had planned. The four-poster bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was nice and the sri-lankan option definitely involves too much food! Great value for money.

The hotel was exactly as shown in the pictures, elegant, clean, and welcoming, and the service was exceptional from start to finish. From the warm welcome by the staff and the thoughtful gesture of offering two varieties of welcome drinks, to the immaculate presentation, cleanliness, and spaciousness of the rooms, everything exceeded our expectations. We had two rooms: one with a private pool for us and a connecting room with a jacuzzi for the children, which was perfect for our family. The food was exceptional, not only delicious but beautifully presented as well. The friendly and caring staff were a bonus, as they truly went above and beyond to look after us. We had the pleasure of meeting the Managing Director, Mr Wijegunawardane, who was very welcoming, and Nimesh, the Manager, who definitely deserves a special mention for his outstanding service and pleasant nature. The professional massages my husband and I received were wonderful and offered at a very reasonable price. Our children absolutely loved the bicycle rides, the clean pool, and the shooting activity; they were happily entertained throughout our stay. What a wonderful hotel! We are a family of 5 visiting Sri Lanka for the first time. We've just had the pleasure of staying 3 nights at this hotel. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly (including Melinda, Krishan, Aditya, Dilini and Ravindi). The rooms are beautiful, the pool is immaculate and the food is excellent. Dimntha planned a fantastic itinerary of a visit to the national park to see elephants, a trip to the cave temples, a walk up Sygrya, a night time trip to see Loris and a trip to an ancient town. We ended the stay this morning at the hotel spa with the best massages we've ever had. The hotel and all the staff were faultless and we can't recommend this place highly enough.

We had an amazing stay in the Seerock hotel. Lio and his whole team did everything to help us during our stay. We even booked 2 nights extra while we were there 😊. Very clean rooms, most comfortable bed, big pool, large domain which is well kept by the gardeners and nice restaurant. Breakfast was also very good. We booked an excursion to Polonnaruwa and Kaudulla National park with them and also a visit to the Dambulla temples, would recommend!

Liked everything about this hotel, the staff were lovely and attentive, the facilities were great and we were close to many of the attractions we wanted to see. There weren't many guests at the time we stayed, but that made our experience better! We booked a bigger room with a plunge pool which without many guests we didn't need but it did feel like we were royalty!

A true haven of peace in the heart of the Sigiriya jungle. We stayed at Covanro Sigiriya in early July, and absolutely loved it. The place is incredibly peaceful, surrounded by lush nature. We even spotted a chameleon, a monitor lizard, and kingfishers right in the garden! Special mention to the pool staff, who were genuinely lovely and always attentive. Our room was beautiful – tastefully decorated, spacious, and very relaxing. And the pool… what a gem! Large, clean, set in greenery, and best of all: we had it all to ourselves. A truly magical moment ✨ The restaurant serves delicious, well-prepared food. Prices are slightly higher than in central Sigiriya, but totally fair considering the quality. In short: the perfect place to relax, surrounded by nature with all the comfort you could ask for. Highly recommended!

Outstanding brand- new hotel. Service was amazing, so friendly and always looking for your comfort. We got an upgrade from rooms in the main building to a room in little houses in the park area. Rooms were so nice, very clean and big with balcony to the park. Amazing big swimming pool with bar service. In the evening we had a barbecue dinner on the rooftop with nice buffet. Next morning an amazing Sri Lankan breakfast. Can absolutely recommend this hotel, was one of the best in my travel career.

Our time at the Kandalama Lodge was beautiful. We felt special from the beginning. Everything was clean and tidy, the interior and decoration was on point. The bathroom outside was a bliss. We stayed at the villa with a private pool which was luxury as well. We felt so at home! Madushan made sure that we had a nice trip to Dabula and organized a driver for us. He made sure that everything was perfect. The food - try the Sri Lankan curry it is soo good- and the cocktails were amazing! We highly recommend to stay there!

Everything in our stay was perfect. The location of Kandalama lodge is great if you want to visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Sigirya and Pidurangala. The lodge is cleverly designed, and well maintained. The garden is a quiet oasis, peaceful and beautiful. We stayed in both the deluxe villa with the private pool and the “regular” rooms. We enjoyed both. The staff made our stay even better. I’ve never seen a manager, cook and helpers so attentive in my life. I rarely rate a stay a 10/10 but they deserve it.

The BEST place to stay in Dambulla! My husband and I have just returned from a month long holiday through Sri Lanka and this was the most outstanding accommodation we stayed at during our whole trip. The location is perfect for visiting Sigiriya and the Dambulla Caves. We booked the villa room with private pool which was so beautifully built, decorated and clean. The pool and garden were both stunning! We really did feel like we had our own private oasis within the grounds. The grounds look even better than the photos! The staff were the absolute highlight of our stay, the team made us feel so welcome, they looked after us like we were family. We were treated to a birthday surprise and cake! As well as a wonderful birthday dinner paired with cocktails! During our 3 night stay we ate at the restaurant for every meal and the food was delicious! The best Sri Lankan curry we had during our entire holiday! Truly grateful for the manager Nalin, he ensured that every request was seamlessly catered to with a big smile. Thankyou to the whole team Chavidu, Amila, Kokila, Nirosha, Chaminda and Susantha, we have so many beautiful memories of staying at Kandalama Lodge and can't wait to visit again!

Could not recommend Kandalama Lodge more highly, our stay was so magical in every way and was the best possible start to our Sri Lankan holiday. The little villas and surrounding gardens were absolutely gorgeous and such a lovely setting to relax in nature in the company of many wild and wonderful animals and birds. Special thanks to all the staff who really went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible and helped us with everything from excursions, transport and even money exchange. The small number of villas makes the experience feel very personal and private. We had two villas, including the one with the private pool which was very special but a lot of the time we also had the communal pool and garden to ourselves as well. The villas are thoughtfully fitted out and decorated, and feature the most stunning outdoor bathrooms that were a real treat. We also recommend the chef’s Sri Lankan curry set for a dinner feast! Was very hard to leave after our four night stay but hope to return when next in Sri Lanka!

Great location, just down a small track, very quiet but short walking distance to restaurants and shops. Feels like in the middle of the jungle as the Villa looks out onto the forest. Lots of amazing wildlife, including hornbill birds, and frogs. Beds very comfortable, a great Villa with a kitchen (although we didn’t use it for cooking). The added benefit of a plunge pool was great. Breakfast amazing, two options of Sri Lankan or continental, we had both which were very tasty. Stayed for 3 nights and they added different variations each time. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble and they were always smiling and happy to help with booking excursions and making recommendations. Great value for money. We would highly recommend Hornbill!

Lovely welcome, simple check in, spotless well appointed villa. It had everything you needed, loved the big veranda, ability to sit outside on the veranda or the seating area downstairs. Pool was lovely, had a swim in the mornings and evenings after a full day out. Breakfast was amazing, so many options and freshly made and prepared - we said it was more like a breakfast and lunch than just a breakfast. The team were so helpful, when we went out for a swim they would put the jucuzzi jets on ! We loved our tree house stay, so unique - open air shower, comfortable beds and cute kitchenette. We would love to have stayed longer three nights there were just not enough.

This is a magical place to stay at. The villas are located in the forest and blend naturaly in it, while in walking distance (about 10 minutes) from Habarana center where you can find restaurants and a supermarket. The villas are new and modern, including the bathrooms, air condition and ventilator. There is also a fully equipped kitchen with a refrigerator. The villa private swimming pool is clean and has a jakuzi as well, we really enjoyed it. Breakfast was great. Shashika the place manager is very helpful and made sure we have everything we need. This is a wonderful place to sleep at.

Our host Aruna was fantastic; very welcoming, kind and friendly. The breakfast was lovely and full of traditional food and fresh fruit. The room was perfect and had everything we needed, including the balcony and outdoor jacuzzi pool. We loved the location and surrounding forest and the hotel is a great base to explore Sigiriya and other highlights. Hearing the monkeys on our treehouse roof and seeing lots of wildlife was an added bonus! Would thoroughly recommend!

Loved sleeping in a tree house, set back from the road, so it was quiet and felt secluded. Loved the pool, it was deep, cool, relaxing and just what we needed after our safari. Loved breakfast, so much delicious food! Loved the service. The staff provided everything we needed, with a smile.

2 Rooms very large and one room smaller. They are clean. Comfortable beds. The balcony is fantastic. Localization: The resort is in a calm area, which is fantastic in terms of tranquility. But it is a relative (small distance walking or by tuck tuck) far away from supermarkets, restaurants and shops. Anyway it is a good place to stay to visit the main attractions of Sigiriya Note that the resort is in a "wild" area, so there will be small animals, insects, and mosquitoes. Staff: Very efficient and friendly staff. They solve all our problems. They were amazing. Thanks Bathroom - Good. Shower with hot water but low pressure. Breakfast: It was fantastic with a lot of food. Pool - Fantastic and clean. It was amazing swim the pool Wifi: Very Good We definitely would stay more days at this resort. .

The house is in a very relaxing location, inside the nature and you can really enjoy the pool after making the effort to go to the Lion Rock and Pidurangala. The rooms were perfect as the breakfast; the women who runs the kitchen is pure kindness, she made us take away breakfast at 4:30 AM before going to see the sunrise on the Lion Rock. The owner built this place by himself and he’s very kind and always available, we even had the pleasure to know his family! The little shy girl has a special smile!

This is a perfect place! They have clean nice rooms and a nice area outside. You can see monkeys in the garden and the pool is great. The staff is sooo nice and the owner is planning and arranging all you tours! Breakfast is great - you just tell then the time you want the breakfast and they will prepare a big tasty breakfast.

Very nice and friendly owner and staff of the villa. Cool pool and convenient location. You live a little further away, but 5 minutes drive from all the bars and restaurants. The owner has contacts for drivers and tour guides. The owner himself produces very tasty organic honey, just ask and he will treat you.

My stay at Sigiri Heritage Villa was nothing short of magical. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with genuine warmth and care by the owners, whose hospitality truly made me feel at home. Their kindness and attention to detail elevated the entire experience. One of the standout highlights was the incredible home-cooked meals. Every dish was bursting with authentic Sri Lankan flavors—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with love. Dining there felt like being part of the family. The villa itself offers a breathtaking view of Sigiriya Rock, which becomes especially surreal during sunrise and sunset. Waking up to that view every morning was something I’ll never forget. The poolside area is peaceful and beautifully maintained—perfect for a relaxing dip after exploring or simply soaking in the tranquil atmosphere with nature all around. Sigiri Heritage Villa strikes a perfect balance between comfort, authenticity, and serenity. I can’t recommend it enough, and I’ll definitely be returning. We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The beds were very comfortable, and the rooms were spacious, making it a perfect place to relax. The host was extremely friendly and went out of their way to ensure we had a great experience. A major highlight was the pool, which was clean and well-maintained – ideal for both adults and kids. Another big plus: no mosquitoes! It really seems like the owner takes care of that, which added to our comfort. The food was delicious, with plenty of options to choose from. What truly stood out was how attentive they were – for example, they noticed that a child in our group was a bit fussy with food and, on their own initiative, adjusted a sandwich to suit them better. That level of care was impressive. Everything was spotless, which we greatly appreciated. Overall, an exceptional place with thoughtful touches that make a big difference. Highly recommended!

Lovely generous sized room with separate mezzanine level for kids beds. Lovely pool and grounds. Friendly and professional manager and staff - we were impressed / grateful that they all could help us with things in English and make decisions (like arranging to take us out in the hotel Tuktuk, arrange luggage storage) without needing to check with the manager first or get him to translate. Good inexpensive restaurant on site serving nice food. We loved the chocolate banana roti!!

Loved this hotel! Fantastic value for money, great pool and facilities but the thing that makes this place stand out is the staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them, they always had a smile on their faces and were so helpful. The hotel arranged a fantastic safari for us to Minneriya where we got to witness the elephant gathering which was an experience I’ll never forget, the tour guide was super informative and experienced too.

We booked a private Villa with private pool and jacuzi. It was as requested. There was a bit access to the street and people from one corner, but they managed to block it with a blanket for more privacy It’s expensive but worth the money

Amazing stay. Our butler Fabian was simply great, but also all the stuff was very welcoming and always available. Room was super, we were upgraded to the suite with private pool; all very clean, functional and spacious. Bar, restaurants, receptions; all was great but the big plus is really the contact with the nature you can experience in such a resort, is truly like a safari. We have seen huge lizard, elephant, hanuman monkeys etc. Simply the best stay in Sri Lanka.

Great and very friendly staff in all departments of the hotel. The hotel’s very own naturalists are brilliant and are assisting with everything you need for a successful trip or excursion - water, juices, soft drinks and cool refreshing towels are always part of the service. We enjoyed the big pool for all hotel guests as well as our private pool next to the room which helped us to feel really relaxed. The hotel is a true sanctuary and we enjoyed the nature and natural sounds every second of our stay. A minimum 3 nights stay is highly recommended to have enough time to discover the historic places and the nature in this part of Sri Lanka as well as to relax on property (we stayed 4 nights).

A stunning location and a resort with a unique feel to it. We loved that the rooms are all tucked away among rice paddies, lily ponds, or open out onto the water body that teems with bird life, fish, and some crocs. We appreciated the nature-conscious philosophy of the hotel and their efforts to respect the wildlife of the area. The evening dining is very good, the rooms beautiful, spacious, and tasteful and the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The heat is quite something so we really recommend the rooms with small plunge pools.

Everything was absolutely perfect, the location so near to Lion Rock, the clean and comfortable cabin with the wonderful garden, the delicious food, but most of all our remarkable host Dinesh and his kind family who were some of the most friendly, warm, caring and service-oriented people we have ever met. Right from the start after having booked Dinesh got in contact with us, asked for any needs and offered his assistance.. He was so kind to give us recommendations to structure our visit so that we were best prepared to get the most of it and see everything we wanted to visit in the short time we had in Sigiriya. Besides giving good advises for Pidurungala, Lion Rock and our booking of a Lori safari, he also organized a safari to Minneriya National Park for us and I cancelled a respective booking made before via Getyourguide. And believe me, it was the best decision we could have made. It was an absolutely amazing experience, the driver/guide was extraordinarily experienced and had the fifth sense for the elephants, we saw so many of them and got so near, but always keeping a respectful distance to not disturb them (we went lateron to Yala NP, but Yala was by far not as impressive as Minneriya with the tour Dinesh organized for us). If you go to Sigiriya, do not hesitate to book the charming Otunna Guest house, you won't regret it! Thank you very much, Dinesh & family, we would love to come back!

The perfect experience: - position: on one of the main roads but pretty much away from any noise or crowd; - common spaces: the guest house is immersed in a lush garden full of natural shadows, perfumes and the silence of the nature; there are plenty of spaces to sit and relax and a comfortable set of tables next to the reception. - animals: don’t worry, compatibly with being immersed in a green garden in Sri Lanka, there are few mosquitoes and no wild animals inside. As everywhere in this country, remember to bring insect repellent. - rooms: the standard room was simple but spacious, extremely tidy and clean and equipped with everything, including an endless supply of bottled water and a room fridge. There are more luxury options in the chalet. - food: dinner is provided on request, but the included breakfast is a feast of rotti, pancakes, fruit, smoothies and much more. You won’t need to have lunch after. - price: on the lower end of the mean prices in the city, more than honest for the service; - LAST BUT NOT LEAST, the owner and caretaker Dinesh: he is the true pleasure of this experience, a kind and generous man who, together with his family, can orient you in the main (but lifesaving) things to know about the city and will try to honestly take care of every request. Overall: this is the place to go in Sigiriya❤️

We absolutely loved our stay at Dinesh and his family's guesthouse. If we could give a rating of 15/10, we would! The room was very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated and the garden surrounding the rooms is just magical, giving somewhat of a jungle feel. When we arrived, Dinesh took a lot of time to explain what to do in the area and how to get there and he also helped with organising a Tutuk, as well as a driver to get us to our next destination. We decided to only eat at the guesthouse because the food prepared by Dinesh's mother was absolutely amazing! Best breakfast and dinner we've had so far, they also put so much effort and creativity into accommodating all of my many food allergies, which I appreciated a lot. We highly recommend staying at Otunna guesthouse. Dinesh and his family put so much love into the guesthouse and he puts a lot of effort, even before the stay, into making sure the guests needs are met at all times. Thank you for everything!

The property is lovely as you're surrounded by plant life no matter where you are. The location is maybe a 10-15 minute, very easy walk to the Lion's Rock entrance, and it is close to some shops and eateries for those who want to walk around a little. The food is excellent. Breakfast was delicious and they accommodated some of our late timing shifts to move around breakfast to a time that worked for us. We had dinner here one night as well, and again, the food was wonderful (be hungry as it was a lot of food). The highlight, however, was the host, Dinesh. He was extremely friendly in the lead up to out stay, helping give us some details we needed as we drove to his property. He was also incredibly friendly and helpful for some of our plans as they kept changing due to weather (he helped book a safari and adjusted time-frames for our hikes/meals around the crazy weather). While the property was already great, Dinesh made our stay here even better!

This is a beautiful guesthouse, with only 4-5 rooms, perfectly clean, nicely decorated and with super comfortable beds ( and hot water), immersed in a luxurious jungle and a beautiful surrounding garden. Denish, the owner of the guesthouse, and his family, are the most friendly and professional hosts. We have liked talking with him of Sigiriya, as you can really feel how he is attached to his country's culture and how he is concerned about preserving its nature and wildlife. The breakfast and the dinner cooked by Denish's mom were absolutely delicious, so that we have decided to have dinner at the guesthouse all the nights of our stay. The guesthouse is perfectly located to walk to Lion Rock, but in case you need, Denish can arrange you a honest tuktuk to drive you to the main attractions. We recommend this place 100% and we will come back here for sure in the future. I wish Denish and his family to have great succes with their guesthouse in the future.

For the price point, this is an excellent stay for value. The property is like a little jungle oasis with many beautiful plants everywhere. The rooms are huge and super clean compared to some other places we’ve stayed in Sri Lanka and also decorated with pretty art and beautiful wooden furnishings. The staff are super nice & extremely helpful. The pool is lovely, however, u should be careful not to jump around in the pool too much as my husband cut his foot on a tile at the bottom of the pool 😅 but the staff bandaged him quick and was super helpful. Other than that, the place is excellent & walking distance to the Main Street with cafes & restaurants. I would 100% come back to this guesthouse if I ever come to sigiriya again. Wish we could have stayed longer!! Breakfast is plentiful and good too.

Il Frangipane is the perfect place to stay in Sigiriya! The rooms are spacious, super comfortable with a fantastic shower/bathroom. Location wise it is perfect. An easy stroll to Lion Rock and literally a couple mins in tuktuk should you not want to walk. Also A couple mins stroll to amazing restaurants and bars (make sure to eat at Kenoli!)… the breakfast at il Frangipane is generous and delicious. The staff are wonderful and helped us organise TukTuks whenever we needed it. Also a huge thank you to Raveen for the fantastic communication and for organising us such professional, safe and excellently priced drivers (for our treks between cities). The pool at the hotel is amazing and so beautiful after a days hiking. (One note tho, the pool is amazing however there are some chipped tiles so be careful as I cut my leg, not a major issue but something to be aware of). I would 100% recommend Raveen and Il Frangipane to anyone staying in Sigiriya. A beautiful little oasis to call home for a few days!! 10/10

Il Frangipane is a hidden piece of paradise, it was our 1st Sri Lankan hotel and it was really hard to leave it. Raveen and his team were super friendly and helpful, providing everything we needed: transfer from the airport, tuktuk before 6am, drinks etc. We were taken care of :) The hotel itself has a beautiful garden with a pool, it felt like taking a swim in the jungle. The room we had was beautifully arranged and comfortable, pool towels were included. The shower had a separating wall preventing the water from spreading all over the floor (not always a given in the country). There are many restaurants in walking distance, and it is very close to Sigiriya rock (we walked back). All in all, we had a great stay, just too short. Thank you Raveen and team!

Everything. The property was lovely with landscaped grounds, a nice pool and a quaint restaurant area. Pool towels quickly appeared on request. Staff were excellent - very helpful and friendly. They went above and beyond good service. Although they were all young they could teach others what good service really is! Tea and coffee were free in the restaurant area. Breakfast was plentiful and excellent. Location for Sigiriya was absolutely fantastic. Suggestion would be not to go to the small strip of restaurants on the main road but try local places to the B&B. We should also have asked if they cooked dinner at our place but didn't.

Good brakfast- fruits, eggs, jam and buter with toast + a different traditional side dish every day… if you want they make you dinner. They made pancakes for me, with coconut and honney, the best! The pool is realy nice, they clean it every day! They have an outdoor dining area where you can hang out. The staff are really friendly, and on the last day we were able to stay at the pool and wait for our shuttle. They looked after the suitcases.

We spent amazing day at Saman's. The room is spacious and clean, with air conditioning, fridge and hot water. The breakfast that Saman's son served us exquisitely, we tried several typical products from the area and it was also abundant. They set us up for the day we spent there perfectly, available 24 hours for anything you need. Besides, they're very close and they make you feel like you're in your own house.and also special they arranged the visit wild elephants hurulu eco park safari for us that was really amazing tour.owner's son have best knowledge about the day tours and round tours.he arranged airport pick up service and day tours from sigiriya to polonnaruwa and sigiriya to anuradhapura.that's also really nice experience for us.special thing is They arranged us out side COOKERY CLASS that also realy nice experience to try to cook tropical foods and after the cook you can taste it.that all the vegetables you can pick from the Cookery Class Garden.who loved cookery clas i highly recommend that place, saman arranged. *.Also saman recommended Ayurvedic massage place absolutely that was the perfect experience.that massage place they had a great experience about the treatments.We did loris watching tour and night safari tour also we saw different kind of animals.

Sigiri Saman Home Stay deserves 10 stars, but since there are only 5, that’s what I’m giving. The Home Stay is extremely clean – the cleanest place we’ve stayed in Sri Lanka. The grounds are beautiful, with lots of lovely places to sit outside, including swings and hammocks. Everywhere you look are gorgeous flowers and plants. The breakfasts are very delicious and more than enough to fill you up – my favorite part is the fresh fruits. You can see many beautiful birds around the property, and there are monkeys living nearby that are very cute to watch. Saman and his family are so nice and helpful. They will assist with anything you need, and they’re very knowledgeable about the area. They can answer questions about the history of Sigiriya Lion Rock and also help you arrange any activities you’re interested in. The location is excellent – just a few minutes’ walk to town, restaurants, ATMs, and of course Sigiriya Lion Rock itself. If you want to stay here, make sure you book in advance as it sells out quickly – it’s truly a special place, thanks to the wonderful hosts.

'What did you like?' ... What didn't I like?? First of all, Saman fixed us a ride from Wilpattu to Sigiriya on short notice. Throughout our stay he fixed our transportation many times for a fair price, even early in the morning. He gave us helpful tips and when we wanted to extend our stay because we liked it so much, he fixed us another great hotel since he was fully booked. Saman's wife was also super kind and helpful + prepared a great breakfast! And their son was amazingly sweet and helpful as well. The location was incredible as we were super close to both rocks (why else would you be in Sigiriya?). The place looks very nice as well and is away from the road - so no noise. The whole experience was great for us, nobody pushed us into doing or buying anything - but we were guided towards our own needs and wishes. My girlfriend and I definitely recommend Sigiri Saman Home Stay 100%, and we would gladly stay again at this very welcoming and kind family.

Had a wonderful stay at Saman’s Homestay! The hosts were very responsive and lovely, especially Saman’s son who was always willing to help in any way and made sure to check in with us regularly if we needed anything. The homestay is perfectly located, 3-4 min walk to good restaurants and a shop on the main road. The best part of the homestay was the lovely garden, right in the middle of the jungle, where they had hammocks - such a lovely place to relax and enjoy being in nature. The breakfast was very filling, served on the terrace overlooking their beautiful garden. The homestay has an ideal location, being at a walking distance from the main attraction - Sigiriya Rock. The room was nice and clean, with AC and a fan, and hot water. The bed also had a mosquito net. Really recommend this homestay for anyone who comes to Sigiriya, you will not regret it and if you are looking for a nice place in the middle of nature, you will love their garden.

- A fabulous, family run home stay perfectly located an easy, safe, few minutes walk into the jungle. - Welcoming, characterful owners, friendly, smiling staff and harmless, curious family dogs. - Complimentary chilled drink on arrival. - Early check-in allowed (if the rooms available). - Very peaceful at night with only jungle sounds to enjoy and drift off to sleep to. - My room (#1) was homely, meticulously clean, well appointed (including a well stocked soft drinks mini-bar), efficient AC, fan and reliable WiFi. - Mosquito net hung from ceiling but never used as never had any mosquitoes in my room (that I saw). - My room had its own comfortably furnished, covered private terrace with clothes line, hangers and pegs. - Laundry service is available but very large bowl conveniently in bathroom for laundering your own clothes. - The owner organised a highly enjoyable all inclusive (drinks/transfers/park fees) five hour elephant jeep safari with his own driver, guide and comfortable 4X4. I saw well in excess of FIFTY wild elephants! Spectacular and memorable. - Very substantial, absolutely delicious breakfasts (thank you for my early breakfasts!) - I cannot recommend this wonderful guesthouse highly enough. As there are only a few rooms I would strongly recommend booking ahead to avoid disappointment. - Everything about my stay was perfect from beginning to end. I could not have asked for more and I would 100% return. Thank you!!

Our host family were the loveliest people and went out of their way to help - from dropping us off and picking us up from a restaurant down the road at dark in their jeep to avoid any elephant encounters, to suggestion on what to do and even dressing a bad insect bite I had. The room and bathroom were large and clean, the bed comfortable, the mini fridge ice cold with water and soft drinks, and you have coffee, tea and kettle. Outside we had comfy chairs on our verandah looking out at a gorgeous garden. And then there was the superb and generous Sri Lankan breakfast at the times we wanted. Now we get to location - in the jungle with a few mokeys, a passing peacock, squirrel and iguana or two. And the lazy dogs and the regular visiting cat. It's a short 200m walk to the main road and a short walk either direction to shops and restaurants. You are right across the road to the Locals entrance to Lion's Rock, with the ticket office a gentle 15 minute stroll away. In short - the best people, service, location and quality accommodation with great value for money.

We absolutely loved our stay in Sigirya, largely due to this absolute gem. We cannot express enough how kind the owners are, they went well well above what can be expected of hosts. My partner had what we thought was a stroke, and the owner insisted on coming with us to the local medical clinic in the village. When we were referred to another medical centre, he drove us there, and then to a third hospital for medical treatment in a nearby town. He waited for about 4 hours to make sure we were ok late at night, helped us speak to various people and was an exceptionally calming presence in a very stressful situation. We really cannot thank him for his kindness and support enough. The location is amazing, really close to everything you’re likely to see, and the rooms are really comfy and clean. Finally, the breakfast is quite frankly, ridiculously good. About 12 different dishes come out, all of which are lovely. Probably the best breakfast we’ve ever had. Overall, we cannot recommend this place enough they are amazing!

Fun place to stay! The owners were really characterful and friendly. It's right in the jungle and the garden is like a jungle too. The room was great, very clean, hot running water and really well kitted out rooms - Good AC, a stocked fridge with cold drink minibar type setup, kettle, tea/coffee, a big washing bowl handy for washing clothes. The entrance to Sigriya is directly opposite the access road to this place - you could not stay any closer, so ideal for an early morning start up the rock. The Breakfast here is absolutely stunning, 18 different items, all cooked by the host in the morning, hoppers, pancakes, little omelets, jaffles.. it just keeps coming out! We had our own tuktuk so driving around, going out at night wasn't a big deal, and the owner can easily organise a tuktuk pickup as this guesthouse is set back into the jungle. A 5min walk from main road in the daylight but maybe not something to try in the dark. We would happily stay again!

I highly recommend to stay on Sigiri Rock Side Home Stay. The staff and owners are amazing persons , very friendly, kind , funny and helpful. It’s the best place you can stay in Sigiriya . The rooms are very clean, spacious and comfortable. You have on the room , fridge, A/C and fan ! It’s very helpful because sigiriya is very warm. Now about the breakfast, it’s amazing , very delicious and a lot of food, to be honest it was the best meal I had in Sri Lanka so far . The Location is very good just 10min walking to the entrance of the Sigiriya Rock and you have many restaurants around just 5 min walking. Also if you wanna book a safari you can book with them they will make you a fair price. I wanna thank to the hosts of Sigiri Rock Side Home Stay for everything, they are very good people. I had a great time there. When I come back to Sri Lanka I will book with them again!

We loved our pool view room. The boys 13 and 14 loved the pool and loved how their bed was on a mezzanine above ours. The family owners were so helpful and gracious. Would definitely recommend this place.

The place is surrounded by nature, and it is called 'Garden' for a reason. Hundreds of beautiful plants all around this family hotel. Pool is nice. Great location, just a few minutes walking from Habarana Main Street where all the restaurants are, but secluded enough to be in complete calmness when at your room or in the pool. Habarana is the perfect place to stop for a couple of days and visit Sigiriya, Dambulla or the national parks. The family that run the hotel is so nice and attentive. They really care about their guests and are really helpful.

The best part of this stay was Dulshan and his family made us feel at home. The warm and friendly attitude of the people along with a comfortable rooms tucked in between trees and nature. This was perfectly the best homestay for us to spend our last couple of nights before flying back home. The place is very calm and surrounded by lots of trees. They have a wonderful swimming pool which is accessible 24/7. I have enjoyed my morning routine sipping tea and just taking a stroll around the premises. Dulshan was very helpful. He went out of his way to help us. I had many uncertain moments as I had brought my elderly parents with me during the trip. Be it organising car or tuk tuk or trains schedule or suggesting us which time to visit the sites around. He was very genuine and generous. Regarding food, we made some special requests. we are vegetarians therefore we had requested for some local veggies and it was very delicious. thanks to Dulshan for making our trip more special. Definitely will recommend this place. The place is very neat and tidy.

100% our favorite place here in Sri Lanka! Great welcoming on our arrival. We stayed in a room for four people and it was perfect! Wide room with all the comfort you might need. The host family is always very responsive if you need any information or help. We stayed at Levona Garden Resort as a starting point to visit the area (Sigiriya, Pidurangale, Polonnaruwa, Anuradhapura ecc...) and it worked perfectly. We also asked for breakfast in the very early morning, and they were so nice and kind to pack it for us just to give us the chance to eat something on the go. Breakfast includes a lot of delicious food! Additional plus, the swimming pool, which is very nice, especially after a hiking day under the sun. Moreover the resort is 5 minutes walking to the main street, where you can find tons of restaurants to choose from for your dinner. Thank you for everything! We'll suggest your place to anyone and hopefully we'll come back one day!

The accommodation at Levona Garden Resort was absolutely exceptional. We definitely recommend this place to everyone. The resort is run by a very nice and friendly family who will help you with everything and give you tips on what is worth seeing. We had planned to visit the various national parks in the area, but the Resort recommended a cheaper version of the park where the elephants are currently migrating and we saw a lot of them and at half the price of the national park. Because they can figure out where the elephants are, you have a good chance of seeing them. They also helped us find a reliable driver for our next trip from Habarana. There was a very pleasant atmosphere. The resort has a beautiful garden with a swimming pool and in the evening they are willing to cook you a traditional Sri Lankan dinner which was absolutely delicious. They made us feel the true spirit of Sri Lanka so definitely go there.
