Best hotel I've stayed out here... They have a shuttle little bus that can pick you up any where... The place is beautiful!!! Highly recommend... You want privacy and don't have to worry about your car parking this is the spot!!

The property is located at an amazing place very close to the entrance of Antigua. Entrance is through a gate with a security guard. The property is very well maintained with beautiful flowers and trees. The staff is very friendly. The apartment is spacious with room for up to 8 people. The first floor consists of a living room, dining room, well equipped kitchen, master bedroom with bathroom and a small laundry room. The second floor is a small open space with to beds a second bathroom and on top of it a kind of mezzanine with two mattresses accessed by a very precarious ladder. The towels and sheets look old. You can hear the morning traffic from the villa, which is not very annoying. There are problems with the architectural design of the villa. Illumination is poor. There is only one window for the whole apartment. Most important ventilation is non existing. You can open the only window in the apartment, but it is not enough, especially for the ones staying in the second floor. You really feel like suffocating. If the owners would install air conditioning or at least provide fans in the bedrooms I would really recommend this place to anyone. I have to give credit and justice to a very very nice place with important shortcomings.

The property is beautiful and right near the beach. We had a room with a private pool, which was nice. The outside area at the private pool is also great, and there is a large grill if you want to cook it that way. We also used the larger pool available for everyone, which was nice with a kiddie pool area. Restaurants are nearby with a car. The owner was very responsive and helpful with our reservation.

Outside of main tourist town of Monterrico. Short walk to road for local food and tiendas. Great pool but also option for private pool which was awesome! Pathway to beach with miles of solitude along the ocean. David was very helpful with coordinating rides and answering questions via Whatsapp. Quick to address any issues with room.

A beautiful property to spend time at the beach. It’s immaculate, well kept, well cleaned, well appointed. We had the private pool option which was a jewel. Well worth it to feel like a king on a budget. The attendants were super. Always willing to help and serve. A few steps from the beach, if that’s your thing as well. Beautiful beach. Very beautiful peaceful property with a nice pool, great air conditioning, close to the beach. Perfect for a peaceful get away. However, it is out of the way - there are not many restaurants and it is hard to get around. There are no Ubers and buses are infrequent. However, the property managers are happy to set you up with a ride or get food items for you if you prefer to cook your own meals.

Everything we had hoped for. We wanted to end our busy trip with a relaxing beach stay. They kids also really enjoyed the pools!

Beautifully designed hostel. All of the common areas, rooms and even the bathrooms are gorgeous. Plenty of space to relax and even work. They also got a pool table on our last day and even have a simple little gym space. We stayed in a private double room with shared bathroom and I can’t fault it. All bathrooms were cleaned regularly and the common areas were also kept on top of. They also use a gorgeous orange smelling product which I want! We were also able to store our bags whilst we did the Acetenago hike. Great location, less than 5 mins walk to the arch and less than 10 to the Central Park.

Dorms are very comfortable, enough space to store you things and hang towels, also in the bathroom there’s enough space to put things. Breakfast is included which is nice :) even has a game area (pool table, table soccer), gym, TV area & community kitchen. Helpful & friendly staff. Can book tours and shuttles at the reception.

Beautiful hostel. Well kept, dorms were comfortable. Bathrooms, kitchen, living areas kept clean. I enjoyed being able to go to the sister locations to enjoy pool, sauna, and gardens.

This was one of my favorite hostels in three months of travelling, easily. - The beds are the most comfortable ever, with a double pillow and DUVET!!! Felt like a real hotel stay. - I also really liked that in my dorm I had almost like a shelf all throughout my bed. - Those bathrooms??? Unreal! How beautiful, probably the best and cleanest I've seen in a hostel. - Free breakfast is very delicious and the fact that you can choose between a couple options is much appreciated. - The staff is so so so nice, I forget their names but everyone from the cleaners to reception to the bar staff made me feel at home. - Great location for Antigua!! I weighed it comparing to others and many are a bit of a further walk from the center. I LOVED IT HERE!!!!! Highly recommend staying.

Gorgeous location and excellent value for money! Half the price of the Zephyr Lodge just across the way. Pool table and restaurant were good for the evenings and a panoramic view of the sunset from the pool was incredible.

Great place to stay! I stayed in a dorm. The dorm was clean, bed were comfortable and every bed has a mosquito net. Shared showers and toilets are cleaned regularly, there is not always hot water available. The common area is big, with hammocks to chill. Might be improved with some couches and nicer lightning. There are a lot of food and drink options which are reasonably priced. Pool is big with great views all around. I am missing a couple of loungers though. The lodge offers tours to Semuc Champey that include the cave, tubing, the viewpoint and the natural pools. Great value for money. I recommend this accomodation for those who want to relax, enjoy the nice views and be a bit closer to nature.

The staff were always really kind and helpful, food was good and reasonably priced, we enjoyed the pool table and swimming pool too. The tour to Semuc Champey was an awesome day and I thought it was good value for the price. They helped us organise all our shuttles for a good price as well. Rooms were basic but beds were comfortable enough and there was a fan in the room.

Perfect for our stay in Lanquín. The room was simple but fine, the view is amazing. It was really nice to have a swimming pool as it can be very warm when the sun is shining. It was the perfect place to have a relaxed day! The pool was also cleaned everyday. The food in the restaurant was fine, nothing special but ok. We also walked to Zephyr and the center to have dinner.

It was modern, clean and service from front desk was GREAT

We had a beautiful room overlooking the pool. The hotel is very well run with happy, helpful and professional staff. There are lots of great restaurants nearby and actual sidewalks! Close to the airport and checkout is 1pm which is nice. Highly recommended, we will be back.

The staff was wonderful everywhere: the front desk, the cleaning team, the people who served breakfast. The location of the hotel is great. It's actually behind the Westin Camino Real and is part of the same chain, but because it doesn't have a fancy lobby or stores inside, a pool, etc., the Biltmore is a lot cheaper. The hotels connect from the inside though, so it's very easy to go to the Westin for dinner, or just to enjoy drinks at the lobby.

Good choice overall. Had to check in a little late, and they were cool with it . The check-in process was smooth, the room was clean, and offered multiple towels, shampoo, body wash, and even a hairdryer. You are welcomed with some water and some coffee which you can prepare yourself. The balcony ( which you have to choose that room ) is pretty good. You have a nice view, and overall, it felt like the right choice, price, safety, and comfortability were great. I stayed there for 2 days and there's a restaurant right beside the rooms (BACAN), it was really nice , but really expensive, paid 4 dollars for a bottle of water , wich outside you can find it for a 4th part of that price , it is really convenient, but pricy. I asked the locals, and they said it was a safe area, plus you have another restaurant right besides reception ( wich i didn't notice) and a shopping center right at the corner.

This was a great hotel in Guatemala City! We only stayed for one night because we had a flight the next day, but we could've easily spent more time here. We were upgraded to a room with a balcony, which was really nice of them! The staff was friendly during check-in/out as well. The room was nice - a minimalist design, clean, and comfy. It was definitely the best bed and shower we had in Guatemala! The water pressure was strong and the water was hot. We also liked the restaurant on the same floor as our room and there are tons of restaurants, cafes, and bars in the area. We felt safe as well since you need a key to access the hallway to the elevators, to use the elevators, to get back to the hotel rooms from the restaurant, etc. Also the door to your room has an alarm. We also loved that staying here helped contribute to good causes!

I was intrigued by the concept of "sleep good and do good" so decided to try this. I LOVE this hotel and will come back! The aesthetics are amazing. Whoever designed the rooms knew about Feng Shui and energy-flow. The rooms are beautifully minimalist, with a super comfortable bed, high quality soap etc. TWO fabulous shower heads, and no sound of air conditioning. Plus a great restaurant with a terrace, lovely and helpful people at check-in, and a location that offers a safe and charming area or food and drink. Go out the hotel, turn left. At the corner turn right, go 1 block, turn left, go 1 block and then turn right for a street filled with cafes and bars of all types. I LOVE this hotel experience! And to know I was able to contribute to Guatemalan children is icing on the cake.

I used this hotel because it was so close to the airport and I wanted to be sure I got there in time for an early departure. I had no idea what a lovely family lived their as the B&B hosts. From the time I got there: The owner waited outside so that cab didn't get lost, to the time I left: She also had a friend pick me up at 5:00 a.m. and bring me to their airport on time. I was part of their family. The room was huge! I had my own bathroom. So, when I wanted privacy, I had it. When I wanted to go downstairs and eat dinner, it was up to me if I wanted them to join me or if I wanted to stay by myself (I enjoyed their company immensely). Guatemala City gets a huge bum rap. But, you don't want to walk around some neighborhoods alone at night (just like any American city these days). For me, for what I needed the hotel for, this was perfect! Why spend $200 for an american-ized hotel that could truly not care, when you can spend your time with a nice family that does? Also, ask why the hotel is name Oh Espana! And bring a soccer ball!

After a long bus ride this was a lovely sanctuary in busy Guatemala City. The Spanish-feel hotel is like a large bed-and- breakfast; speaking of which the breakfast was five-star! The rooms have high-ceilings and comfy beds. All is clean as can be. The downstairs has a pleasant common area, a dining room and walled garden with a sitting area. The host speaks English as does her husband. We arrived by Uber, went out to dinner, on her good recommendation, with Uber and were taken free to the nearby airport for free. (We of course paid for the first two rides. This is my first experience with Uber anywhere and the drivers both spoke English and the drivers and cars were first class.) This is a nice little hotel, close to the airport without being very noisy, in a gated community called Aurora.

This property is more like a bed & breakfast than a traditional hotel (several rooms in a private house access to living room and patio/garden. It’s in a gated neighborhood with little charm, but felt safe. The home was exceptionally clean, a delicious and hearty breakfast was served, and Katie was very helpful in ordering food and taxi for me. It’s just minutes from the airport - very convenient, but also, understandably, loud due to flights overhead. I wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Stayed for an overnight airport transfer. The airport is quite close so there was noise off airplanes flying over The late taxi pick up was arranged for us. The hostess is a very nice lady and made us feel welcome. The room has a nice comfortable king size bed with attached washroom. There was refillable water available. Breakfast was very good. I would not hesitate to recommend this as a place to stay by the airport

We were lucky we stayed there. And first of all - muchas gracias, Magdalena. We had some problems and she did all the best not only to make our stay very pleasant ( It was ), but to solve those problems too. Property itself is perfect for a stay before/after flight. Good breakfast, transfer from/to airport. Comfortable beds, spacious rooms, home atmosphere. In addition to it - lovely yard, relaxing place for morning coffee or evening vine.

We stayed at room #1 and it was good, nice double beds and very clean. They provided towels and essentials for all the days we stayed at this hotel. We are going back to Antigua and we already booked out last night at this hotel. The hotel has a wonderful location and they offer us 20% off in a nearby restaurant. I would recommend a mini fridge on each room because Antigua is a warm city and there’s no restaurant in the hotel so you might want to have a cold drink at your room instead of going out to find one. 100% recommended

The hotel is just a few blocks off the main square and it truly a gem of a hotel. I stayed the weekend Friday, Sat. and Sun. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel organized my Sunday tour to Chichicastenago and even provided for me to have a bag breakfast for the long journey. I highly recommend the tour to Chichicastenago as well. You really can not beat the location of this hotel. Saturday early evening there was a band playing someplace close as you could hear them but they stopped at 10pm. The complimentary coffee was incredibility all hours of the day and early morning. The hotel also organized my transfers to and from the airport in Guatemala City. Can not wait to return!

One of my last stays on my tour of Guatemala With a two night stop in Antigua The hotel rooms are well appointed and worth the nightly rate there is a lovely garden and elevated tranquil terrace to read and relax note the hotel is purely bed and breakfast so do not expect a bar on site there is a no noise policy after 10pm which for these two nights before I fly perfect ! Staff very attentive , on site laundry facility And free filtered water

Our group of 18 people stayed at Hotel Meson del Valle for the 15th time in 10 years. This hotel is spectacular! The location gives you access to everyone, the staff is very personable and treats you like family, and the food is off the charts good. Mil gracias a Odalis, Alba, Julio y todo el increíble equipo de trabajo en Meson Del Valle por recibirnos y cuidarnos como reyes!

If we ever come back to Antigua, we will stay here again. The property is small, but is set back from the street, so it's quiet. It was not full when we were there, so I can't speak to the thin walls. The rooms were nice and clean and the location is great. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

A beautiful & tranquil space, mostly respected by the people who use it. Amazing location and with the feeling of walking into the House of the Spirits; it's a place out of time. Every food recommendation from the hostel was 100% perfect - we ate better here than anywhere else in Guatemala. Check out the free walking tour from Quetzaltrekkers - amazing!

only stayed for 2 nights but was a cool place! nice kitchen, bathrooms were clean, nice outdoor garden area as well. location is walking distance to pretty much everything, very close to main park where most events are.

This is the third time I've stayed with Villa Del Lago and have to say the staff is always kind. They are helpful every step of the way and make you feel special by remembering you. The locaiton is ideal for walking anywhere witin San Pedro la Laguna. Rooms are simple per usual with family-owned hotels around the Lake, but very clean and tastefully decorated. The views from the rooftop were incredible and offered unmatched sunset views. We also had a great view of the Lake from our corner room!

The location is great, it's on one of the main street and not far from the ferry. Dont expect bells and whistles for the price or anything fancy, but know that you will be in a clean, very well located and secure place. A Private room for the price of bunkbed. Everything was functionninng, wifi, hot water, the little kitchen. There's also a space on the rooftop that you might use to exercise or meditate... An awesome deal if you ask me

The view from my room on the top floor was amazing (though those on lower floors have partially blocked views of the lake by the hotel across the street with the same name). I loved the hammock outside the room. Owners are very sweet and had a room for luggage storage after check out. I would definitely come back!

well located as it’s not in the middle of the busy San Pedro but literally 2 minutes walk which means you can’t hear anything and have a super good sleep. the room was big enough for 2 people, nice shower. the kitchen was great to prepare our meals, and the rooftop was amazing.

Loved the beautiful gardens and balcony for breakfast. I Chose the typical Guatemalan breakfast both days because it was so good. A great rooftop with lovely views and relaxing furniture was accessible by a spiral staircase. The staff were so very polite and helpful with the checkin and service.

I loved this place. the rooms were very clean, the beds super cozy and comfortable, it was very quiet (apart from the church bells at 6am), the water was hot, the staff were amazing. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back.

We really enjoyed our stay here. We had lake views from our rooms and there were various sitting and dining areas overlooking the lake. Staff in all locations were very helpful and welcoming. The breakfast and dinners we ate at the hotel were delicious - and the coffee freshly made, a treat (except for only powdered decaf for 1 of the adults). The rooms are large, the beds comfortable (for us), and the bathroom area quite serviceable. Don't miss the opportunity to take advantage of a free ticket for the museum on the property that shows the underwater city of Samabaj. It was excellent, especially the Sambaj underwater experience (2nd part of the museum)! The pool was nice, but it was difficult to find staff to get us towels and lounge chairs. Wifi service was acceptable. The hotel sent out our 2 shopping bags of laundry (by-the-pound service) and it was back later in the day (all for Q70 = $10). The hotel accommodated our request for an early breakfast before the 7 am start time and that was very helpful.

The grounds of Don Rodrigo were beautiful! We loved that we were able to step outside our room and have a gorgeous view of Lake Atitlan and the mountains/volcanoes. They had a pool which was nice bc I personally don't like swimming in lakes and my friends did have a hard time finding a good spot to take a dip. Staff was super nice and also helped connect us to a driver to get to the airport the day of our checkout. The location of the hotel is right at the end/beginning of the main street with all shops/ restaurants so very convenient. It was also a quick walk to the docking area where one would take the lanchas to other surrounding villages. Felt safe as well.

Second time at La Posada de Don Rodrigo and I would come back again. The place is beautiful with an amazing view to the lake. The staff is extremely nice and always ready and willing to help. They have a lake view restaurant with excellent traditional Guatemalan food. The pool was clean, the patio was also clean and nice to rest on the hammocks. The staff helped us get a boat to cross to the towns across the lake and we had a great time. This hotel is in a very convenient street which you can come out at night and buy stuff, food, see the lake and take amazing pictures. Parking on site, WIFI, museum on the premises and restaurant. Excellent place I would recommend for a family trip.

Stayed 3 nights Posada Don Rodrigo Panajachel, I can't say enough how beautiful this place is along with the wonderful Customer Service. Thank you to Pascua, Gustavo general manager. Alex, Victor, Rosa and Evelyn in the kitchen. Entire Staff for making us feel like family. The Sauna and Pool the Marimba and Food is so yummy. Very good hotel. Amazing view of Lake Atitlán from our room. Also you get free admission into the museum that contains artifacts found in the lake by a National Geographic expedition. We loved the location and hotel. Centrally located, walked to the central park a few blocks away, felt safe, clean, and has a casino onsite! Property has several food options onsite. For those interested there is also a night club next door. There’s also a modern gas station in front of the property.

We live in the city and head to the beach whenever we can. This was a long weekend and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The room was clean and comfortable, the location was nice and the on-site restaurant has some good dining options (in particular the signature dish). It's also the only hotel in Guatemala we know of with a working pool bar. Prices are amazing.

We loved the location right on the beach. The pool was fantastic for our family to play in. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The place is away from the village in a lush greenery and we loved it! Service was super friendly and fast. They even helped us with the transfer to Tikal and back. Our double room was simple but big, with a big terrace with chairs and a hammock to relax and enjoy the greenery / to read etc. Bed was comfortable and had a decent mosquito net. They have a decent menu so we seldom ate breakfast there or had some drinks. The hotel is a walking distance from El Remate so we also walked to visit some restaurants or tienda for some snacks when we wanted to. My favourite thing for sure was the fact it's a little away and in the greenery, little hidden gem. Because it's close to the bioreserve, it was wonderful to hear the sounds of nature and especially have our first experience with howler monkeys howling 🙂 I would recommend it for sure.

We’ve been travelling in South and Central America for over five months now and Posada del Cerro is one of the nicest places we stayed at so far. The whole place is super lovely and quiet, nestled on a foresty hill and with a view of the lake from the common area and some bungalows. Our room was super clean and very cozy, with a comfortable bed, desk and chair, lots of light and space to put our belongings. The bathroom was also very nice, with a big shower, and warm water. We had a lovely welcome by Ricardo with Flor de Jamaica drinks and him and Irma were super attentive and helpful. You can order breakfast and dinner in advance and let Irma or Ricardo know when you would like to eat. It will be freshly prepared for you every day. Everything we ate was delicious. We would come again any time!

The room was fantastic, very nice, open, with a view on the lake! It was exactly as it looked on the pictures. A paradise! Everything was also super clean. The houses are located in a nice garden, where we even saw howler monkeys! Sanctus and Alida are super nice and took so good care of us! They also prepare nice meals, with a lot of care. We really felt welcome in Posada del Cerro. Sanctus also arranged a trip to Yaxchá, and a shuttle service to Rio Dulce at the end of our stay. We really loved staying in Posada del Cerro!

The best hotel where we have been in Guatemala. The common areas and the rooms are extremely clean and super nicely set up, with all what you need, from fan to blanket. Dimensions of accommodation is also much better than average. Position is a bit outside the village but I loved it as it’s quiet and overlooking the lake. The staff went above and beyond. Always friendly, discreet but ready to help. we ordered dinner and got amazing food freshly cooked. A fab place where I’d love to stay again if I come back.

The service was 15/10! the cook/receptionist arranged for a tuk tuk to pick us up from the bus stop. we arrived hot and sweaty and were greeted with a cold glass of hibiscus juice. I loved the ecological environment, the stone paths, the thatched roofs, the clothesline for drying clothes. the property has so many places to sit and relax. benches, chairs and hammocks are everywhere. We met the owner and she gave us a tour and changed us from one room to another so our group could be together. the food was delicious!

Honestly cannot give this property a better review. I had a truly lovely experience at Casa Josefa. Veronica greeted us upon entry and was incredibly kind and helpful, and she continued to check on us throughout our stay. The property is located very close to the main lancha dock at Santiago, meaning it’s just a short walk away from exploring the rest of the lake. While Santiago might not be the most tourist-centric town on the lake, the sites were lovely. Casa Josefa was truly gorgeous. The plants and the energy at the facility were immaculate. The pool looked lovely and though we didn’t get the chance to swim, it would have been a nice refreshing touch to a day of exploring. Most of all, the room was extremely clean and comfortable. There was a lovely hot shower and plenty of amenities including a hotel refrigerator and microwave to use as well as a fresh filtered water jug. I was fully pleased with my stay and loved the service we received throughout.

Lovely hotel in gritty, fascinating Santiago which we loved. Small kitchen that you can cook in. Clean pool and nice garden with several spots to chill out and a view from the roof. The hotel looks like it's been extended over the years and I think the new rooms are probably brighter than those on the ground floor. Our room was definitely a little dark, but it was clean and comfortable. Josefa and the women working in the hotel were all lovely. There was lots to see and do in Santiago. The hotel is a delight to stay at with great rooms, one of the largest pools in town, and wonderful and friendly hosts. The hotel is also located across the street from the beach and is a short walk from the main street where restaurants, stores, and ATMs are located. On this most recent visit, I was pleasantly surprised as the rooms have been refreshed from top to bottom with new paint, floors, bathroom fixtures and more! Another welcome change is that agua pura is now complementary with staff bringing an ice cold refillable glass bottle to your room at check-in. And there's an included breakfast for hotel guests.

Absolutely wonderful place! Huge pool surrounded by a beautiful and lush garden with an occasional hummingbird! to the beach its just across the street. the place is run by a lady and her mother who are just the nicest people you can think of. my room was a bit older, but there is a lot of renovation going on (although not noisy!) and I've seen some of the new rooms and they are very stylish! would definitely go again!

The patio on the first floor let's you peek at the vulcanos and has a sun bathing and a covered part with cozy couches. Ideal to do some yoga in the morning. There is free drinking water on the premises, as well as a little kitchen with cups, silverware and plates in case you bring take away. The rooms are compact but someone really thought of travelers requirements: - hooks in the bathroom (seems random, but we rarely see them on our travel around the world) - in a corner are shelves to store your luggage/ bags A big plus is the owner. He runs two restaurants in town, is super helpful and welcoming. We would always come back to this place.

This little place has everything - location, cleanliness, comfort, price, roof terrace, courtyard tables and chairs, useful basic communal food prep equipment (mini-oven/grill, microwave, kettle, plates, cutlery and glasses). In addition, the manager, Kary, strikes exactly the right note between being helpful beyond the call of duty when required but maintaining a discreet presence otherwise. Starting the day with a cup of tea or coffee on the roof terrace watching the sun come up on the mountains...well, it doesn't get much better than that. Sure, it's not an all singing, all dancing 5 star hotel. But for the extremely competitive price, it is an authentic Antiguan experience and its rustic quirks only add to its charm. If (when, I hope), I return to Antigua, I will be heading straight to this hotel.

The staff at Hotel Chilero were incredible! The night before my friends and I arrived on Antigua, we ate something in another city that ended up giving us food poisoning. Because of this, we were restricted to our room for most of the stay. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. They frequently checked in on us, gave us advice on where to get medications etc., and were very patient when booking airport shuttles for us upon our departure. I don't think I group could have made it through without the amazing support from the people at Hotel Chilero!

The name of the hotel is odd. So I was not sure if the hotel was legit even though I booked thru a reputable website. It turns out that my concern is unnecessary. The staff is very friendly and courteous. The hotel is really close to everything. It also has an upstair patio where you have the view of volcano. Very nice. Their recommended private shuttle service to/from Guatemala City is also very punctual and very good priced. Thank you.

The terrace! Make sure you don’t miss the terrace and the view of the three volcanoes from there. Antigua is a small city, so you can walk everywhere. This hotel might not be right next to the main plaza, but it's just a few minutes away. The staff was super friendly and tried to accommodate your needs.

Really enjoyed staying here and extended my stay as I liked Xela more than I thought I would! Don Ramon was a wonderful receptionist/host and a mine of information as to where to get the various colectivos to various places. The room was very large and clean, the bed very comfortable and the shower had hot water 👍🏼 The patio area was great to meet people and relax in and the green plants everywhere made it a little oasis. It is also 1 block from the Parque Central so very well situated👏🏼

Interior was really beautiful! Greenery everywhere and was in a very nice location. 2 min away from the Central Park.

Great stuff and location was perfect. We could even park our car in front.
