We had a lovely recent visit to Le Grand Galle. The hotel was very quiet as it was off season. They were kind enough to upgrade us to a room with a plunge pool. Fabulous! We loved that it was close to town so we could walk to the Fort (even at night). Overall, the hotel is still growing up as it is only a year or two old but the rooms are amazing and the staff is very friendly. We look forward to visiting them again in future.

This property really blew us away, location is literally at the end of the city overlooking the sea and with Galle fort right next to it. The pool and gardens overlook the sea and fort, just lovely. We booked the private pool suite and honestly it was one of the biggest rooms my wife and I have ever stayed in. The washroom alone was as big as many normal hotel rooms. Features in the room, overall comfort was top class. The staff exceptional and super attentive. We literally loved every meal we ate there and that includes the initial day room service which we had to wolf down to catch an evening tour group into Galle fort. We made sure to spend time in the lovely pool every day we were there and ended up having either lunch or dinner at the hotel everyday. This type of room opens into a private garden that overlooks the sea, just beautiful every morning to wake up to it and have your morning coffee or tea.

I recently stayed at this hotel and it felt like a hidden paradise. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed with a fruit platter, chocolates, and delicious Sri Lankan sweets in our room. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the food was delicious, especially the continental and American dishes. Everything was perfect. The hotel boasts a big swimming pool and a beautifully scenic beach atmosphere. My room had a jacuzzi on the balcony directly facing the sea, creating an amazing ambiance with the ocean and pool outside. The rooms were spacious with lovely décor, and the beds were really comfortable. Overall, I had an amazing stay and highly recommend this hotel.

The service was on a very high level - the staff paid attention even to small details. The room and bathroom were big and comfortable with nice balcony and view. The common areas (restaurant, pool, beach) were large so that it didn’t feel crowded at any time. I recommend the spa service - the massages and other treatments we did were really good.

Location was splendid, you have private access to a section of the beach. Lifeguards are on duty on the beach and around the pool. The staff across Aditya are so receptive, they go out of their way to make it an incredible stay for you whether you are there one night or more.

Haritha villa and spa is an extraordinary hotel. I spent 3 nights there with my wife and two children aged 13 and 11. It is set in beautiful green surroundings just 5-10 minutes from the coast. There are only 9 quite secluded villas. We stayed in the second largest one with private pool. We had half board. The food was absolutely amazing! A la carte menu with great choice and fresh sea food. There is a spa on site which look fantastic. We used the small gym there. The staff are very friendly. The quality of the accommodation and food was very high and stood out for Sri Lanka. We had spent a few nights in Weligama bay before here and the peace and tranquility of Haritha villas was perfect after the busy more colourful time in Weligama. We went whale watching on our final morning and even though it is supposedly not the season for it we saw 6-7 whales which was great. Would recommend using the private boat the hotel organises rather than the bigger busier boats. Overall it is a wonderful resort worth every penny.

Everything about this hotel was just spectacular. The best service and client oriented experience I ever had. The contemporary villa with private pool was absolutely stunning and couldn’t ask for anything more. We had the most amazing private butler Lasantha who took care of us from the first moment we arrived and offered us the best treatment possible which made the whole trip to Sri Lanka memorable. The chef is absolutely fantastic and literally everything we ate was delicious. The massage therapists pampered us and gave us the most relaxing hours. Mr Axel the general manager insured we have such a private and peaceful environment in this resort that there is not a single detail to complain about. We recommend this place to anyone interested in visiting Sri Lanka especially that is hijabi friendly!

It is another level. I have been in many hotels/ resorts but this one is one of a lifetime experiences. Everything is customised and tailored for you. You will have a room master 24/7. Do not worry about food menus because the world class chief will cook your favourites. The villas are super modern and equipped with latest tech. The view is from paradise. The resort is well attached with nature. No need to go to forest because you are in one. Just enjoy the private pool while watching peacocks and many other colourful birds. Everything is clean and shiny. It is a true hideaway resort. Just go and leave everything behind you.

Crystal Sands offered a beachfront view and good breakfast. The main pool had a beautiful view and the private plunge pool also provided a good option. Housekeeping was very good, especially Dileepa and Shammi. Restaurant food and drink was also good.

Beautiful oceanfront 3 BR apartment with a plunge pool. We enjoyed the rooftop dining and pool and the location had a great rural feel whilst only 10mins away from Hikkaduwa

The boys came in and cleaned the room every day, They replaced the water,cola, and soft drinks, The balcony was huge, overlooked the beach/sea and we both spent time in our plunge pool, watch the world go by and the amazing sunsets.

We had an amazing time there. The plunge pool was amazing with a beach view. It is one of the best hotel i have visited. The room service is really fast and food was scrumptious. You have everything you want in the hotel.

Loved the dinner and breakfast buffet. The food waa very good. The staff were very fast to their service despite the business. Loved the pool and the dedication of the pool staff to keep it clean and well mainted.

Beautiful large hotel with great pools and rooms. Spotlessly clean and nothing too much trouble for the staff. Special mention to the pool lifeguard who came to let us know that turtles were feeding at the beach. Very special moment!

This hotel stands out for its architectural elegance and thoughtful design. The welcome with king coconut water was a refreshing touch after arrival. The rooms are spacious, well-furnished, and equipped with excellent amenities. Its commitment to sustainability is impressive—arguably one of the best I've seen. I stayed in a sea view room, which was fantastic. It was just after the full moon—clouds moved across the sky, occasionally letting moonlight shine through. The atmosphere was serene, and I deeply enjoyed the solitude. There are two swimming pools: one ideal for families, and another 25-meter lap pool that I especially appreciated—something I’ve rarely seen in hotels. Swimming there while listening to the crashing waves and watching them break into white foam was a unique experience. The staff were warm and professional. Dinner and breakfast were both sumptuous and very well arranged, offering a wide variety. Overall, this was a memorable stay—one of the best in recent years. I definitely plan to return for a longer visit.

Stunning beachfront property in Galle, our room was in the luxury spa wing which is right next to the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our 2 kids had a wonderful time collecting shells, playing in the pools. The beach isn’t the best for swimming (unlike Hikkaduwa or similar beaches) but good enough for a quick dip or for simply relaxing. We were lucky to spot turtles every single day we were there! Rooms were spacious and brightly coloured doors / windows was a refreshing sight. The food buffets had the usual good spread but hopper counter can have a queue in the morning. Pizzas at Lorenzo were wood fried and we enjoyed it. Overall, we had a wonderful time here and would definitely plan to come back in future.

Off the beaten track, but so quiet and serene with just the noise of the surrounding countryside. enjoyable stay with good staff and good breakfast. The swimming pool was great and the room was very rural but clean and comfortable.

The staff here were excellent. They were very helpful, friendly, and attentive. We stayed in a Villa which was cleaned every day. The breakfasts were good. We only ate in the Restaurant twice in the evening but it was very good. We loved the wildlife, the Kingfishers, Peacocks, Lapwings, Cows and the dogs. The gardens were very well tended and the pool provided welcome relief from the heat. I had a lovely massage.

Wirdana Resport and Spa Villa is stunning with spacious villas with modern amenities with the pool area being pristine and inviting. The staff are incredibly helpful. The decor and design of the hotel is stand outs. The attention to detail and care for guests is truly commendable.

This hotel deserves a 100/10! Our stay here was absolutely amazing. The owners are incredibly kind, fantastic cooks, and have an exceptional eye for detail. They truly understand how to make your stay as comfortable as possible. For example, our room was thoughtfully equipped with a Sri Lankan-style robe for the pool, beach towels, a designated makeup-removal towel, and even a face wash. Everything a girl could possibly need! The rice & curry we enjoyed (twice!) was among the best we had during our five weeks in Sri Lanka. And to top it all off, the hotel’s location is simply breathtaking with a beautiful view from the room and pool. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

Outstanding and beautiful guest house with unbelievably helpful and friendly hosts! We loved every second of our stay at Barefoot Bungalo. The location is perfect…tucked away in the jungle overlooking a beautiful rice field marsh, but only 15 min walk to the huzzle and buzzle of Hikkaduwa and the beaches. The villa is beautifully designed with attention to detail and the rooms are super comfortable. We also very much enjoyed the pool overlooking the rice paddy. Our hosts, Saffina and Chuta went out of their way to make our stay super comfortable and enjoyable.

We had a very pleasant stay at this lovely accommodation. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the pool is a nice place to relax. The chef can prepare very tasty meals on request. The location is peaceful, surrounded by greenery, and it’s a short tuk-tuk ride or about a 30-minute walk to Hikkaduwa Beach. The staff is super friendly and helpful. A great place to unwind!

Overall my experience was exceptional. The villa's excellent design, attentive host, and stunning amenities made it a truly unforgettable stay. One of the highlights of the villa was its two spacious kitchens. They were equipped with everything to prepare meals. The villa also boasted a beautiful garden and an infinity pool. Saffina, was incredibly caring and welcoming. I can't wait to return!

This place felt like magic and it was easy to relax there. All the beautiful details around the building makes it unique and cozy. We enjoyed the nature around the villa and loved the peaceful vibe away from the big road. The pool was clean and fresh and the room was big and spacious with nice balcony.

Stunning surroundings and a very thoughtfully designed house to maximise natural environment. All meals were exceptional, even better and cheaper than the best restaurants we found on the island. The staff are genuinely friendly and helpful while allowing you as much privacy as you need. Communication before arrival was friendly, quick and accurate. Jayantha and his team do an exceptional job and I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to relax and be well looked after.

Breakfast was fabulous as was the house and grounds.

We had a memorable stay and the host is very understanding. It is recommended to have a car with you for movement to places within the city and nearby beaches which are 15-20 min away. The swimming pool is an excellent feature and well maintained.

Absolutely everything about this stunning villa! We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The highlight of our experience was definitely Thushara, the wonderful gentleman looking after the property. He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. His kindness, warmth, and exceptional customer care truly made our visit unforgettable. Thushara’s attention to detail and genuine hospitality made us feel right at home. We can’t thank him enough for making our stay so special!

We have had the most wonderful stay in Villa Wonrich. The villa is beautiful, well-equipped, ancient type interior and outdoor ambiance and was a perfect setup for our families. A fantastic owner, in the room you will find everything including a curling iron and a jewelry box that’s very rare! In the kitchen you have literally everything, so, great and with awesome comfort. 5 mins from the beach, 2 mins by shop and Main Street. The breakfasts I will remember forever!!! The design is very authentic ❤️ Owner is a very nice person, always very attentive, like “hello, how are you, is everything okay? Let me know if you need anything”. I will definitely come back!

We absolutely loved our stay in the villa. The place looked even better in person, it completely exceeded our expectations. We were welcomed with a welcome drink and cake. The Villa is slightly out of the way which makes it very peaceful, yet within walking distance of everything, which was exactly what we were after. Also very easy to get transport to and from if needed. The private pool was absolutely great. The water temperature was perfect. The hosts were lovely and were very responsive. We were given a welcome guide and information to help us with our stay. There is clean drinking water available at all times which is great. I would highly recommend this accommodation. We stayed four nights and wished we had stayed longer.

Lasantha and Madhu are the best hosts you would encounter. They were present at check in to welcome us with some lovely refreshments and do a house tour and handover keys to us. The house is so well designed with quality appliances, and attention to detail. Its a clean, organised and spacious 3 bedroom villa with a pool and ample space outside to have a great time with family. I had just asked for a restaurant recommendation and I was sent a whole list of groceries, restaurants, supermarkets, etc by Lasantha, which was so helpful. In addition, the hosts checked with us from time to time to ensure we were comfortable in the house. It was truly an amazing experience for my family. We will always recommend Nomad Nest to our friends.

We stayed at this wonderful three-bedroom villa in Hikka, and it truly exceeded our expectations. The property is a beautiful piece of modern architecture, designed to make the most of natural light with its large windows and high ceilings. It also felt very safe and peaceful thanks to the modern surveillance systems and smart home technology. One of our favorite features was the jacuzzi, which could be turned on and off with voice commands. It was such a fun touch! The kitchen was fully equipped, the rooms were air-conditioned, and everything was brand new, making the space quiet, comfortable, and homey. We really appreciated how thoughtfully everything was set up, and it was a perfect place to relax and enjoy our time. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area.

Great price for one month. Specially recommend for any guest there is a good privacy surrounding high walls with the private swimming pool. Very clean water there clean by the poolman every morning. The other girl visits every evening to clean the garden and collect all garbages. Very easy to spend days in villa blue water. The host dasun he is the owner of this place was so helpful for us within our stay every time we need. He picked us at the airport and gave us a wonderful round tour with his friend. 100% satisfied. The villa has a nice garden with birds and squarrels singing every morning. So natural. 1km to the beach we used the tuk tuk every morning and sometimes we had a healthy walk. We were really looking forward to our trip to Sri Lanka from Spain. We planned everything ourselves. We didn't do it through an agency, I was looking at Booking and Urban Galle Villa had very good reviews and we decided to go for it and we were right. It is located in the middle of the typical streets of Galle with lots of greenery and tranquility. It is a two-storey, four-bedroom, colonial-style family house, which we almost filled because there were 7 of us. We were the only guests for those 5 days and we were literally pampered by Xabi (he said we should call him that to make communication easier), his brothers and his mother, who helped Xabi with the breakfasts, which were all prepared to our liking. The times we went out early, like on safari or whale watching, they even prepared tuppers for us to take with us. Xabi was always there for whatever we needed. He really made us feel at home. If we ever come back to the island, which is quite possible, we will definitely stay at Urban Galle Villa again. In these days after our departure a swimming pool was being finished, which will give the facility more value and will certainly make the stay more enjoyable. We can only say: Thank you very much for everything, Xabi.

The best place to stay. This is boutique accommodation on a quiet street, a short drive to the main attractions. I loved being surrounded by nature in the pool, seeing beautiful birds and monkeys in the trees, bats and fireflies at night. Staying here was the highlight of our time in Galle. The rooms are large, very clean, with comfortable beds. Our host made us the most superb breakfast each morning. They were helpful with information about things to do and transportation, they also offered personal tours and tuk-tuk rides at good rates. If you like a peaceful place to unwind at the end of the day, with really helpful hosts, this is the place for you.

These guyssss <3 could not have been better. They were so genuinely interested in us having a lovely time. As a woman travelling alone with a kid, I felt so safe and even in just two nights I felt very familiar. Everything was a reasonable price, they were actively ensuring we didn’t get ripped off. The place was extremely clean and my son LOVED the pool so much. They really went out of their way for him, taking him to a lovely personable hatchery and even to the factory of a jewellers to, with guidance, make a ring himself out of a gem he picked himself. It was a truly special experience here

A very nice relaxing stay in a villa with a lovely pool. Set inside the jungle not far off the main road and close to the beach. Good size room with balcony and very clean. And a very comfortable bed. Also the included breakfast was amazing, so much food, including eggs, fresh fruit juice, tea and coffee, cake, for slices of toast, butter and jam and string Hoppers with Dahl and coconut. Staff were very kind and accommodating.

My family and I stayed here for two nights and had an excellent stay. The manager and staff very friendly people, especially Keethan. The traditional homecooked Sri Lankan breakfast and western breakfast were both phenomenal and the rooms and the pool were very clean and well-maintained. It is located in a good and serene area. This villa made our stay at Galle the best experience.

We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful villa everything was wonderful the view by the ocean 🌊 the outdoor lounge 🤩 and a private pool 🏊🏼 .The villa was big , clean and very safe there is security 24 hours . The staff was very friendly, smiley and helpful 🌷they bring everything we needed, they have fast service and they attention to details 👌🏻all staff was amazing and lovely 😊 the manager Rohan , personal assistant Mohan, the chef mango and the security Sanad they deserve more then 10 stars 🌟 also they care about children . This is a wonderful place! We came here with our 2 sons (24 and 17) to relax and spend time together and this was the perfect spot for it. Good sized bedrooms, nicely decorated and very comfortable beds. The living room is cozy but we spent most of our time outside where you have the plunge pool, a sitting area, sunbeds and last but not least the sea is there right at your doorstep. The staff, Rohan(manager) and Mohan(housekeeping) are amazing and give excellent service, Nothing is too much to ask for them! Location wise the Villa is well situated, close to Hikkaduwa and not too far from Galle. Book this place if it's available! .

Great 2 bedroom villa right on the beach with a lovely pool and catered like a hotel with the amazing team that took care of us and made our stay so comfortable! Breakfast was deliciously freshly cooked, and snacks were brought to us which was a lovely surprise. The crib for our toddler was super comfortable. The pool was a bit small but good enough to lounge in.

The villa was more than we could have expected from the description. From the street the villa looks very ordinary but when you enter through the gate it is a beautiful private oasis. The outside areas are well looked after and the loungers and pool allow for a great sunbathing day. You are only a few steps away from the sea, although most of the time it is better to watch than to enter. The staff were brilliant at what they do, attentive but not overbearing. We didn't realise the villa came with staff and it was a great realisation. The chef was brilliant and the food was great, especially the barramundi. Rohan was a very considerate host and nothing was too much. The location was perfect for us. A 20 minute walk down the beach took us to funky bar, a great place to watch the surfers and the great sunsets. A further 20 minutes takes you to Hikaduwa town. Both are only a short drive by tuk tuk if walking isn't your thing. We loved our stay here and look forward to returning.

Beautiful colonial style villa in 5min driving proximity to the center of the Galle Fort. Amazingly furnished and designed. Fantastic bathroom, amazing living and dining room area as well as wonderful and refreshing pool oasis with the sunbeds and pool towels provided. Delicious breakfast, fantastic and helpful service from Muha (I hope I spell that right), we enjoyed absolutely everything during our stay!

The villa was absolutely beautiful — full of charm with its colonial architecture and impeccably clean throughout. The pool was crystal clear and incredibly inviting, but the real highlight was the outstanding service from Mohan and Sasha. On Saturday night, heavy rain kept us from going out, so we decided to dine at the villa. Mohan graciously offered to cook for us. He went out to buy fresh ingredients and prepared an incredible prawn curry and perfectly grilled tuna. One member of our group couldn’t handle spicy food, and Mohan even made a separate milder version just for her — such thoughtful service! Every morning, breakfast was generous, varied, and absolutely delicious. This villa is fantastic value for money, and we’d definitely come back — in fact, we didn’t want to leave!

Green Casa is an amazing oasis in the heart of bustling Galle! The beautifully restored heritage property is a wonderful balance of old-world charm and contemporary design. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious and comfortable, and the pool area was perfect for a swim or simply lounging with a book. Mohan took such great care of us - always smiling and ready to help us with whatever we needed, including arranging massages for our parents that they really enjoyed. Breakfast was delicious and prepared fresh - we truly enjoyed the authentic Sri Lankan home-style cooking. It was also lovely meeting Harsha, the owner, who was very thoughtful and kind. We can't wait to return here on our next visit to Galle and can't recommend this place enough to others!

A wonderful stay in a beautifully restored colonial house - an oasis of calm and tranquility only a 10 min Tuk Tuk ride from the Dutch Fort. There are only 3 room at the villa and so it feels like you are staying as guests in the house. - not a hotel. The staff are very attentive and arrange anything that is required. Pool area is lovely and a great escape from the heat and frenetic city of Galle. Highly recommended.

We also were given some fruit when we got there, which was great over the couple of days we were there. We made full use of the restaurant (fantastic meals), bar and pool. Also used the day spa.The staff were incredibly friendly, and couldn’t do enough for us. The only downfall would be the location -It is directly on the beach, but about 3km from Hikkaduwa and 12km from Galle. A nice walk to Hikka, and tuk tuk are easy and cheap enough for either town. There is very little close to the hotel - there is a Wine store though. Overall it was an excellent way for us to finish off our excellent holiday in Sri Lanka. We would happily stay in Aditya again.

I booked a suite to celebrate my mums 60th birthday, a treat after a two week tour around the island. The best hotel I have ever stayed in, and definitely the best I experienced in Sri Lanka. Stunningly beautiful, peaceful and friendly attentive staff. The hotel put an extra double bed in our suite and we still had loads of space for the sofa and chairs. The outside terrace with plunge pool and gold fish pond was beautiful and provided a lively place to sit for an early morning tea. The extras in the room were amazing, more than we could ask for, great turn down service with yummy chocolates. We arranged to have yoga with the recommended yoga teacher Sammna. He was fantastic and we ended up having a lesson every day of our trip. A real highlight of the day and able to do on our terrace. The food was fantastic, the rice and curry was the best I had on the island. We were treated so well by all the staff, who made us feel so at home and remembered all our little habits. A fantastic place and we will remember for a long time.

We stayed 3 nights at the Aditya Boutique Hotel and it was fantastic! The rooms are very clean and spacious. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor shower and the private plunge pool. The food was absolutely fabulous and the prices very reasonable. The staff were all smiles, extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast is served at any time of the day - which is great when you're arriving from a long flight. The only downside was that the ocean is too dangerous to swim in - but that's not the hotel's fault. Not much to visit around the hotel so this is a place to stay put and relax. Would highly recommend Aditya!

Nice hotel but to small for children who had little to occupy them other than the pool as the sea was very rough. We went to the hotel to relax on our 45th wedding anniversary and the staff treated us very well with a welcome cake and 20 coloured tee lights in our room. If you want a sea view ask for a room away from the pool which is surrounded by trees.

Aditya is lovely. The staff are wonderful - they are friendly, professional, attentive, very organized and accommodating. The property is situated right on the beach, although the ocean wasn't safe for swimming (too rough) when we were there. We stayed in one of the new suites, where we had a view of the ocean and the trees in front of it. The suite was huge, with a massive bathroom, a big veranda, and a second floor with a whirlpool. It was a lovely space.The food is overall very good. The breakfasts are huge, with an excellent fruit plate and yummy banana pancakes. The Sri Lankan breakfast was also very tasty. We had the Sri Lankan vegetarian curry most evenings. Most of the curries were really good, and they varied some of the dishes so we weren't eating the exact same thing each night. There isn't a lot to do near the hotel. You can walk on the road, but you'll be in traffic. You can take a 3-wheeler to the larger town. We opted to just enjoy the place. The only real downside is that people can smoke on the property. One breakfast, a couple was smoking in the dining area, so we had to leave. Later, the staff seemed to have asked them to not smoke there, so that was good. But people do smoke by the pool, and if you're downwind, you'll have to deal with that. It would be better if there were a smoking area, away from common areas, to accommodate everyone.

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and the owners were so nice and so helpful. Great food if a little too much of it. It’s a bit out of Galle but was so quiet and peaceful and a Tuc Tuc was less than £2 into Galle. The room was great with a fridge kitchen and a kettle. Beds very comfy and bathroom was good size too. We had a beautiful kingfisher that came 3-4 times a day and also saw monkeys. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and such good value too

Located at the southern end of Hikkadua beach, this is a high end hotel. Luxury cars are parked at the entrance and there’s a wonderful pool at the rear before you head onto the beach itself. There are nice restaurants on the ground floor and there’s terrace. You have use of the pool for a small fee. On the roof terrace, you see a spectacular view of Hikkadua beach itself. It’s wonderful at sunset and very romantic. Staff are immaculately dressed, professional, engaging and attentive. I’ve swam in several pools in Hikkadua and this is so far the best one. Not too much chlorine and it’s colder than other pools also. The view overlooks the beach. The cascading waves that crash into the beach is fantastic. The pool area is surprisingly peaceful and idyllic. Recommended.

We stayed three nights at the Riff Hotel in Hikkaduwa with our family (two children), and it was a fantastic experience. Since no other rooms were available, we were even upgraded to the Presidential Suite, which felt like a true gift from heaven. The hotel is beautiful, spotless, modern, and very comfortable. The pool is wonderful and located right by the beach, so you can choose whether to relax by the pool or dive into the sea. The location is also ideal: central for all kinds of activities in the area, yet peaceful and relaxing. Breakfast is perfect and served à la carte, prepared with great care and flavor. The staff are genuinely exceptionally friendly and welcoming; you immediately feel at home and at ease. And the sushi at the rooftop restaurant is an absolute treat! A special shout out to Benisha and the pool towel guy who made our stay extra enjoyable! From the hotel, it takes about two hours to reach the airport, which is very manageable. In short: we can wholeheartedly recommend Riff Hotel for families with children, as well as couples or solo travelers. We are truly grateful for the warm hospitality and the wonderful days we spent here.

We stayed at Riff for five nights in February after a week of touring Srilanka. It was a great stay! All the staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. Hotel is really beautiful and the views from the rooms are stunning. Food was great, really diverse choice for breakfast. Not a buffet stile but I loved it even more. I tried different things every day, and everything was yummy. We had lunch by the pool every day. Also had dinner at Japanese restaurant on the top floor twice and it was delicious. Best thing was a beautiful infinity pool, chairs on the beach ( you can always find a spot ) and a gorgeous white sand beach. Waves in front of the hotel were too big for swimming in the sea but I could have watched them whole day :) you can swim just few minutes walk down the beach. And it is a great place for surfing so we tried that also. There are lots of restaurants on the beach also great food. And great beach for morning run/walk. We even had a turtle come one night and laid eggs in front of the hotel. Thank you everyone at Riff for making this a memorable stay for our family. We loved it!

We visited the Riff Hikkaudwa Hotel at the beginning of September 2025. The hotel is located on a beautiful and quiet sandy beach. Every room offers an extremely beautiful sea view, and you can look directly at the waves from the panoramic pool. It should be noted that swimming is not possible in the off-season due to the very strong currents. The hotel's facilities and design are very well done. In general, the atmosphere is wonderfully peaceful, allowing you to really unwind. Breakfast is à la carte and meets the highest European standards, with additional regional dishes. Dinner can be enjoyed in two different restaurants. We particularly liked the main restaurant. Even the non-regional dishes were very good. Let's move on to the absolute best feature of the hotel: The service and friendliness of the staff is exceptional and without exception outstanding. From the waiters at breakfast to the pool boy, everyone is extremely attentive and eager to ensure you have a good time. We had a wonderful stay and would come back anytime.

Not knowing much of galle I was pleasantly surprised with its history and the Yara galle fort fits right in. From the welcoming front door the hotel opens to a sun filled courtyard. Tables and chairs welcome guests to relax and take in the atmosphere. So close to the fort, clock tower and ramparts. Walking was enjoyable in the old part of the city and the busy commercial part just a kilometer away past the galle cricket ground. My room 101 was the duplex. 2 floors and beautifully maintained. Exposed wooden beams!! The upstairs bed was super comfortable and room size +50 sq metres. A welcome drink and checkin complete. The breakfast was super. I chose the English breakfast. What a treat. It came with banana bread. My favourite. Tea was plentiful and hot. I had a night meal on the first night and it was of good quality and taste. Checkout came too soon. The friendliness and competency of the staff was first rate. BTW Sri Lanka is cricket mad so I spent some time watching the next generation of world class children hone their skills in a graded area across the road from the hotel. Also it is not far to walk to see the massive kites fly as the breeze intensified. Overall a great choice.

They provide mixed breakfast of local pankacks with delicious sauces, fruits, coffee/tea, freshly made juice. They are willing to listen to the customers' needs. Like we told them we like papaya, so we got papaya at breakfast! It's quite secure living in this sweet place although it's centrally located, because they lock the front door at 9pm everynight. No worries, they provide door key to check-in customers. It's a quiet hotel too as it's in a small alley one car can just pass through. Highly recommend living in the Fort when visiting Galle. We were kind of regret booking the first night outside the Fort although it's only some hundreds meters to the Fort.

We loved the location, which is close to Pedlar street in Galle Fort, the breakfasts were delightful, the room was perfect for our family of four and the staff was spectacular. So helpful in every way. They truly sought to be great hosts and make sure we had a great time. They helped us arrange for trips to Unawatuna Beach and arranged for our transfer back to Colombo. They even let us keep our bags at the location after check out and then provided us with a room next door with access to a wash room to freshen up while we waited for our car to the airport. We will definitely come again and can’t recommend them highly enough.

A stunning old property stuffed full of antique furniture but with a modern twist. Beds were super comfy, wifi was great and the aircon was a blessing as it was so, so hot outside. We had the whole upper floor to ourselves and breakfast was served on the lovely seating area outside our rooms. Comms were great with the owner and they were very accommodating, allowing us to shower and change before leaving for the airport. The location in the fort was fantastic too, in a quiet lane just off Pedlar street surrounded by shops, cafes and restaurants. Really couldn’t fault this lovely boutique hotel and it was also incredibly good value for money. Don’t hesitate - book it!

Just a step away from the Main Street and the fort ramparts, the location can not be beaten. It is a beautiful old villa that has been made very comfortable with also a very warm welcome from Sunitha and her team.Breakfast is as you order it and it was delicious. Some of the best fruit I had in Sri Lanka. The bed was really comfy and the AC worked well. Water pressure gave long hot showers. Everything you could want from a boutique stay was delivered here in spades. I would definitely visit again!

We really enjoyed our stay at Parawa House. We had a family room, which was perfect for us. The family who run the place are very friendly and helpful and make a lovely breakfast. The location was perfect too. The Wi-Fi connection wasn’t very strong in our room, but we were able to use communal areas to get Wi-Fi - which was essential for our preteens! A really lovely stay and we would return there if we came back to stay in Galle.

Positives: location, walkable to all that old Galle Fort has to offer. Interesting history of the hotel itself. Pool to cool off in . Room was large. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was great (did not eat any other meals here) Negatives: pool has a dreadful old drain/sewerage smell at the far end (not in the pool itself- but could be from the drainage vents on the end/side?). Shower and sink in the room could do with a really good clean. Sink had a crack right across it. Mosquito net is looking really shabby. Feels rundown rather than heritage. Table in the Main lounge area was actively being eaten by insects while we were being checked in. requested transport to the train for early morning to be told no problem tuktuks here all the time . Did speak with a driver who did not turn up ( the only transport arrangement we had in 3 weeks of travelling that did not turn up). And no other vehicles in sight. Did send a staff member down the road to try to find something . Fortunately we had time to spare.

During our trip to Sri Lanka we stayed in a variety of accommodation from budget homestays to this, luxury heritage hotel. Whilst the room rates are pretty expensive, we experienced exceptional service and quality from the Galle Fort Hotel which we had booked as a treat for our wedding anniversary. On arrival we were greeted by reception staff, as well as the manager, David, who gave us a fascinating account about the hotel's history and origins. He was a very personable man and we saw him throughout our stay interacting with various guests which was nice to see. The other staff were polite, attentive and friendly. We stayed in loft suite 3; beautifully finished as is the whole hotel, and incredibly comfortable. The restaurant serves exceptional food, experienced both at breakfast and evening meal. The prices are higher than some other restaurants but still reasonable given the quality. Zameer, the assistant manager, gave us some tips at breakfast about how to eat with your fingers Sri Lankan style :) and was able to arrange a late check out for us on our final day, which was ideal as our train to Colombo wasn't until 3:30pm. Staying within the fort walls was an ideal location for wandering around the little streets, shops, and for walking around the fort wall (a must). Admittedly we couldn't resist just relaxing in the peaceful sanctuary of the hotel by the pool, which is fairly small but perfect for cooling off. Our only complaint is that we weren't staying there longer!

The location of the hotel was right in the centre of the Galle Fort area, which was ideal. This boutique hotel was superb in every aspect you could imagine . The staff were ultra attentive and exceeded their basic job descriptions. Fruit platters in our room on arrival, room cleaned twice during the day, bed turned down at night with chocolates on the table…and more! Swimming in the pool amidst frangipani flowers between huge Roman like columns was sublime. The food was exceptional!! We had a slightly hot curry one night and Jagath our waiter realised this and brought us complimentary ice cream afterwards to sooth our taste buds - brilliant service! Jagath was exceptional in his manner, service and had a great sense of humour. Shiromal was warm and very friendly, Deepika was the perfect host, Shamika was more than happy to spend a long time chatting with us, Indika was always there to help, Thamasha was a fantastic barman who demonstrated great skill and friendliness and Proshane was very welcoming when we arrived. It would be hard to find a better group of hotel staff anywhere in the world! We had a fabulous two days there and wished we could have stayed longer. A fabulous experience all round!!

The whole team could not be politer and have an extremely professional approach. The room I had was large well furnished, very comfortable and a bathroom you normally only see in magazines. While the pool area is not that big it is set in loverly grounds and the pool was very clean. The food standard in the restaurant was of a very high quality. Ask the team for something and they will deliver.

We LOVED the sun house, even though we have always stayed in really nice places in Sri Lanka, this was by far the best. The location is great, you pay around 200 LKR to go to Galle Fort. The garden and the house itself is beautiful. The food was great, one of the best we had in Sri Lanka. Really good value for money and super tasty. And the staff was simply amazing. There was always someone around and usually we even didn’t have to say anything- when we left the room, they would think of cleaning our room, if we lay down by the pool they would bring water. They remember all our wishes for breakfast (eg no bananas) and we never had to ask for it again. I want to particularly point out the service of Priyantha and Tharindu, they were lovely and always had a nice story to tell or a recommendation to give. This is the place where you want to stay while visiting Sri Lanka. You spending your holiday in the history of this country. A spice traders house built in 1860 and completely renovated recently with lots of taste. The rooms, the living and dining areas, garden with the pool, everything is so beautiful and it feels it’s your own private home. Also breakfast and dinner was amazing and very tasty. The manager and all the staff are extremely helpful and super friendly. As it’s just a bit outside of Galle Fort, it’s super calm. But only a short stroll to reach the harbour with the local fisherman and the old town by foot. If not, a Tuk Tuk ride takes 5 minutes. Everything was just perfect.

We had a fantastic two nights at The Sun House, located up the hill from the buzz of Galle. You can easily get a tuk tuk to the forts/cricket ground. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The food was fantastic and we booked an experience with the chef to cook some Sri Lankan food. What a feast we made. The pool was a welcome rest at the end of the day. The room was comfortable with a big bathroom, balcony and a helpful mosquito net over the bed. The property is surrounded by trees for you to spot some amazing birds or even some monkeys. The lounge areas are comfy and have lots of fascinating history. A unique place to stay in Galle.

The staff are fantastic, always going above and beyond whilst also not making you feel over crowded. Super friendly and helpful. Food was great, breakfasts were lovely. Banana bread and homemade jams were delicious! Cocktails and dinner at the restaurant was also really good. Away from hustle and bustle of galle centre so very relaxing but still easily walkable to old fort in 10-15 mins. We loved it here, it’s one of the most special places we have stayed across the globe and we can’t recommend highly enough!

Had an amazing experience staying at Ginganga lodge with family (including a toddler and elderly parents) for 3 nights. The owner and staff were exceptional, courteous, helpful and very professional. They accommodated all our requests (eg: early morning tea, afternoon tea to room, storing some fruits and things for kid in fridge). They were also thoughtful with being umbrellas when it rained, assisting parents when needed and also coming to accompany us in the night from parking lot. The lodge itself met our expectations to the fullest. Rooms were cosy, beds were comfortable. Unique experience with the outdoor bathrooms and showers. The lodge is a nature lovers paradise and the architecture blends in so well with the surroundings. Very tastefully decorated. We booked including breakfast and each day it was a delight to have freshly prepared delicious food (traditional Sri Lankan style or western style and both options were great). The pool is also so serene, perfect temperature, clean and kid and us enjoyed the nice dip and swim the the pool early morning. We also requested a river boat ride and the owner arranged it in easily and we enjoyed all the experiences a lot. The place is well maintained, offers a unique experience and great value for money.

We loved the styling and design of this place, it is unique and it is special to swim in the pool and see the monkeys and squirrels jumping from one tree to another 😊 The owner created this amazing place himself! It has a nice swimming pool, the rooms and bed are comfortable, the shower is warm, and the people are very kind. It is a good place if you want to be in a quiet place to relax and read a book.

The OASIS in the middle of a city From the moment we entered the driveway into Ginganga Lodge you could feel that this place oozed tranquility The owner Indika and all the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful the whole time The grounds on an old rubber plantation feels like you are in the jungle and backs onto a river and has an abundance of bird and other wildlife The pool area and restaurant was so peaceful and beautifully decorated in an eclectic style. Our room Heliconia was accessed by a wooden path and had a lovely verandah and outdoor bathroom where little birds and once monkeys watched from above A gorgeous super king 4 poster bed with netting, fan and air conditioning and more lovely furniture completed the room Tasty food, lovely cocktails and cold beer The added bonus of the lodge having its own tuk tuk and was available to take you anywhere for a small fee It was wonderful to be only 10 minutes from the hustle and bustle of the fort and then be able to return to the calmness of this resort We wished we could have spent more time here relaxing and enjoying the peace 6 star genuine hospitality and attention to detail Rooms were attended to each day and even a 2nd time in the evening and so discreetly This is the most perfect place to spend your last few days in Sri Lanka before heading to the airport before a late evening flight 100% recommend to stay here if you are in Galle or better still make this a destination to go, I’m missing it soo much

Honestly? This place is magical! Words can not reflect how wonderful the stay with Indika and his wife was for us! It is paradise! Beautiful, my eyes could not get enough! From the beginning we were enchanted! Everything has been thought of! From cinnamon body lotion to being brought water to the pool without being asked! The interior is amazing and everything is very clean! It smells nice everywhere and do not forget to eat there, a dream! From our terrace we could see fireflies and the little puppy Simba is too cute! The place is also very good for excursions, even if you actually do not want to leave! A tuktuk is always ready and Indika even drives himself at really fair prices! All the staff is very friendly and helpful! Thank you for making our time there so indescribable! We have to give a special mention to Indika! Such a smart and insanely emphatic person! We are impressed and deeply grateful for his tips and help when my husband got high fever! I could write so much more, but see for yourself! You will not regret it! I have been to many places that I love, but with great certainty I can say that Ginganga Lodge is in 1st place far ahead of 2nd place! We stayed there for three nights and it was by far the best on our round trip: because of the great location, but especially because of the great people there! Beautiful hotel in restored former printers in the heart of Galle Fort. Stepping inside the building is a real oasis of calm after the frenetic activity of the fort. We stayed in 2 rooms in the Peddlar wing which were opposite each other across a courtyard. The rooms were spacious and had a double bed (with mosquito net) and a large sofa, which could be used as an additional bed for a small child. There was good air conditioning in the room. There was a good sized bathroom with shower and free standing bath. The swimming pool is more of a large plunge pool, but was very welcome relief from the heat of the day. Breakfast was from an a la carte menu and it was refreshing to not have a buffet breakfast! The staff were exceptional. Mahesha in particular helped us to locate a misplaced valuable item and supported in getting it returned to us after we had left the hotel.

A really wonderful and unique hotel in a perfect location in Galle, a warm welcome, lovely staff who could not do more for you. The rooms were exceptional, we stayed in Headmasters and our daughter’s Geography. The place is full of history, previously a school, a bank, a printers press. The pool area is picture postcard and whilst there are only 2 sun-beds (get in there quick!), it provided a welcome and cool relief from the sweltering heat out in the town. Location is perfect and just a few minutes walk from the fort walls in either direction. Plus right at the intersection of the 2 main shopping streets. 2 nights was a great stay. We didn’t have time to eat in their restaurant/ by the pool for dinner but breakfast was excellent. They also accommodated a 4.30am departure with someone on hand to help with bags and provided a pack up breakfast bag each. Many thanks, super place to stay.

This was our second stop upon arrival in Sri Lanka, after a night and day in Colombo. It has been my and my daughter's top favorite hotel and stay, because mainly of its colonial and historical charm. A wonderful place, led by a female manager, which is to be underlined, a very nice lady. The staff is local, the attention to detail as well (!), the food and breakfast are super copious, generous and fresh, there is a nice à la carte menu, and the pool is wonderful. My daughter enjoyed it! We were lucky to be and visit Galle during the week-end, so we didn't feel the over-touristic crowd and atmosphere, since many Sri Lankan were strolling along the city walls, visiting. This is definitely a very touristic spot, the many shops attest this, but there are a few very nice and niche places. Stay min 2 nights, and if you can and want you may tour the nearby beaches and towns and wildlife reserves from there, this is possible. We've also enjoyed our train ride from Colombo to Galle, which is not too long and absolutely wonderful in the lush coastline greenery. We loved our room, its setup, the geometry and decoration of the hotel, the beautiful purple lotus flowers and the local touches everywhere. Chic. It pleased my eye every day!

From the time we stepped off our bus we knew this was going to be somewhere special. This was our last two days in Sri Lanka after an amazing two weeks touring the country and what a way to end! We stayed in the heritage building in the Art, History and Headmaster rooms. All very different and incredibly special. Any property is only as good as it's staff and Rhe Fort Printers prided themselves on their personal service- and so they should; everyone was exceptional. Breakfast was provided from a menu and was lovely. It included specialty coffees which many were very pleased about! The pool, although small, is perfectly adequate and the area was surprisingly cool considering how hot it was outside the hotel walls. They scent their rooms with cinnamon essential oils which helps keep bugs at bay. You can purchase the oil from them and it is cheaper than anywhere else and they tell you how to use it. A fabulous stay.

This beautifully restored, quiet and understated boutique hotel felt like our very own, secret retreat right in the heart of the colonial fort. We were two men sharing a double room and the staff were personable and endlessly accommodating and made us feel very welcome. Fortunately, we got to experience both a heritage room and one of the more modern, contemporary Church St rooms. We found both unique in their own ways, from the dark, old-world atmosphere of the ‘Arts’ room, to the clean, spacious, polished concrete lines of the new Church St room. It was the subtle touches that made this stay so special, from being woken softly by the sound Billie Holiday echoing from a distant corner of the hotel, to lazing by the small but tranquil lap pool.

This was our favorite accommodation in all of Sri Lanka! Sadly, we only stayed one night, our last night in Sri Lanka. We wished we had stayed longer! Our room was very spacious and comfortable. We arrived early in the day and enjoyed using the pool and the poolside loungers while we waited for our room to be ready. Peter and Glenda are such wonderful hosts. So kind and welcoming. And this was, by far, the best included breakfast we had at any of our accommodations. Highly recommend Plantation House.

What a find! This place is a newly opened small boutique guest house built in Colonial style that has everything you could wish for during your stay in Hikkaduwa. Peter, the owner, is a man many years in the hospitality trade who is incredibly welcoming and hospitable, going out of his way to ensure his guests are happy and comfortable at all times. The rooms are minimally furnished, but have everything you want and there is also access to a common lounge/dining area for further relaxation space. The pool is kept immaculately clean and is set in attractive small gardens. A very nice breakfast is served daily on the lovely front terrace which sets the tone perfectly for the day ahead. All this at a very reasonable price which represents amazing value for money given the quality of the accommodation. This is not a five star hotel but a beautifully appointed well run guest house which met our needs perfectly for three nights during our family holiday. I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone and wish the owners the very best of luck with this new business. We will definitely be back!!

We have just returned from a wonderful month in Sri Lanka, staying in 3 different locations. Our last 2 weeks were spent at Plantation House and this was the highlight of our trip. We were warmly greeted by the lovely Glenda, who owns Plantation House with her charming husband Peter and immediately felt at home in this enchanting oasis of calm. The rooms are bright and stylish, and the sparkling pool and lush grounds form a tropical paradise. Each day Peter and his staff created a different breakfast, blended fresh fruit juice combinations, followed by an amazing dish of locally sourced fruit, sometimes garnished with fresh grated coconut from the garden trees. The main course was always a different choice of both western or Sri Lankan cooked dish, but every one a delicious masterpiece. Thank you both for making our holiday so special, and sharing your lovely home. We will certainly be joining you again!

This place is a bit of a hidden gem! Beautiful spot just off the main road just before you get to main Hikkaduwa beach, however there's another beach just at the end of the road which has bars, surfing hire etc... so really no need to head to Hikkaduwa unless you want to. The rooms were spotless, well catered and they have REAL PROPER COFFEE. The hosts couldn't have been more welcoming, friendly, helpful and just nice to be around. They have morning Yoga which was great, plus the pool and grounds are beautiful. Great breakfast also :) We'd stay here again in a flash, and we're actually a little disappointed we didn't stay a bit longer.

The location is absolutely perfect. It's right on the beach, but the waves can be big, so you have the pool to cool down if you don't feel like getting sand in your bathsuit. It's on the beach, but it's on a quiet stretch of the beach. You walk for a few minutes along the beach and you hit all the restaurants and bars and all, but the hotel itself is quiet. There is a restaurant, enough chairs and sunbeds for everyone. You have breakfast, move to the pool to cool down, then onto the sun bed. And start again! It's a small hotel, definitely doesn't feel like a resort! I kept extending my stay, because everything was perfect there.

This beachfront hotel is a hidden gem. Located in the heart of Hikkaduwa’s beach, I was blown away by its ocean view. One of my favorite moments was when in the pool, admiring the breathtaking sunset horizon, as it rained upon me. The sound of the rain drops meeting the water of the pool was truly beautiful and therapeutic. The restaurant made such the tastiest soup and butter fried shrimp I’ve ever, creating an everlasting impression on my palate and senses. I will be sure to return to the magical pearl of Hikkaduwa.

Great hotel in good location at quieter end of Hikkaduwa. Good to have the pool as the sea can be challenging here ( it is calmer a few hundred metres along the beach towards Hikkaduwa). Free loungers with towels on the beach. Our poolside room was very well furnished with plenty of sockets and large good quality bathroom. Food and drink very reasonably priced. Good breakfast and coffee. Best of all were the staff who are all very friendly and helpful.

My room had sea view as well as swimming pool view. Property was very near the sea. Swimming pool and restaurant view of sea were equally good.

Woman which cleans territory does her job perfect ⁃ beds have mosquitos protection at the top of each bed ⁃ main dishes in restaurant ARE SO TASTY. Juices made at time of your order based on local fruits ⁃ swimming pool is cleaned each day ⁃ 0 metres to ocean ⁃ mostly rooms have no direct ocean view, but we were lucky to get one room which have such view ⁃ service is on top level. Everything we asked we got asap. Gihan, you made our vacation the best one! ⁃ Nuwan is a chef here and he cooked unbelievable rock fish for us! ⁃ Sanju, thank you for your attention and being helpful all the time ⁃ Bobby looks like local security guy ☺️He always asked if everything is good, he pays attention to guest’s kids, he checked if all lamps are ok and should not to change, he followed us when we were chilling in ocean during powerful waves. He was like our dad😂 I really wish this hotel all the best in job they do! I believe it is the best place to have a rest on Sri-Lanka!

We loved our room with the balcony facing the pool. We can see different birds and some monkeys moving around the trees and vines early morning and at dusk. The whole pool area looks like a jungle with vines hanging over the fence, lovely. Breakfast and dinner was very good. There were many options for breakfast, not so much for dinner. However, the quality of the food made up for the lack of options for dinner. Quantity was generous as well. Although we did not use the pool at all, it provided a very tranquil atmosphere, especially at night when the lights were on. The staff kept the pool meticulously clean, scooping up debris from the many plants in the area. Well done.

18 Faces had a very laid-back feel and was in a quiet location, just a short walk to the beach (200m). The room was big and well equipped, and the bed was very large and comfortable, and the shower was great. The room also had a nice balcony overlooking the pool and deck area. The pool area and deck area were lovely with shady areas. There was a nice breakfast each morning with a big choice. The tuk tuk ride to town was very handy. The staff were lovely and made a surprise gesture because it was our birthday. We would definitely stay again.

Lovely rooms - pick the ones that look onto the pool for out side seating. Nice cafe area for breakfast.breakfast is good and freshly cooked. Order the night before. Attractive lounging areas in the airy reception/cafe area, though these seemed underused while we were there. Lovely staff who were helpful. If you want small independent stylish hotel away from crowds - this place is great.

The Radisson Blu is an amazing hotel with wonderful staff and superb facilities. Starting with the breakfast, the breakfast buffet has so much choice to cover all personal preferences, including live cook stations. Lunch menu was exceptional and diversified, and the evening buffet / al a carte menu was fantastically creative with a multitude of choices available - different every evening. The skills of each chef has to be commended with their style of approach. The bedroom was superb, cleaned daily to a high standard. We had a small issue with a rain leak which was quickly sorted and so apologetic - so thanks for that. There is a hotel roof top bar serving a variety of foods and drinks and has a pool table, and large TV. Hotel is quiet, pool and children's shallow pool were exceptionally clean, plenty of sun beds and chairs, pool bar was well stocked and the pool bar staff were always on hand to serve. There is a kids club and a fitness room. There is several rows of sun beds that face the sea and there is a public small beach in front of the sun beds but protected by a good fence but with easy access to the beach. Nearest Town is Galle Fort and is a good visit for cafe's and shops, but can be a bit pricey. Tuk Tuk travel about 10 mins for about £3 ~ £4 with a haggle. Other places to visit also by Taxi or Tuk Tuk.

We enjoyed our stay at the Radisson in Galle and found it to be very relaxing. The room was clean and spacious and the super efficient and friendly pool staff ensured we had ample supplies of beach towels as we sat around the pool. The dining was great, as were indeed the dining staff who were super efficient and friendly. However, my wife got bored of the Indian cuisine that was always on offer (although I loved it and thought it was superb!). Two things we did not like. 1. We paid for an all inclusive package (including drinks) but had to involve management early on when we were told by the bar staff that we had to pay for drinks outside of the restaurant, ie at the roof top terrace bar (which is stunning by the way) and the pool bar. Although this matter was quickly resolved, it was hassle we did not need. 2. We thought the pool staff were intimidated by a rowdy/noisy group of Polish and Russian guests who tended to monopolise, (and drink too much), in and around the pool and surrounding areas most afternoons. The hotel is located 10 minutes from Galle in a tuktuk which costs approx. USD5 each way so is well located. It took approx. two hours to travel by taxi each way to Colombo International Airport.

Our recent stay was truly exceptional, and we were thoroughly impressed by the wonderful hospitality provided by the staff. Around the pool area, we had the pleasure of meeting Ajith, the pool attendant, and Manager Wasanthi. Both were incredibly friendly, always smiling, and ready to assist with anything we needed. Their positive energy made our poolside experience so relaxing and enjoyable. At the front office, we received a warm welcome from Pathum, whose professionalism and helpful attitude immediately made us feel at home. The guest relations team, including Ashan and front office Malshika, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was smooth and memorable. They were attentive, approachable, and genuinely caring, which added a personal touch to our experience. A special mention goes to Ravish at the bar — his cheerful personality and fantastic drink recommendations made every visit to the bar a delight. He made us feel like valued guests and added a lot of fun to our evenings. Every team member we encountered showed genuine care and dedication, which truly sets this place apart. Thank you all for making our stay so special — we will definitely return and recommend this hotel to others!

We had an incredible stay at Radisson Blu. We were looked after by the incredible staff right from start to finish. The room we were given was incredible - so spacious and light with beautiful views of the ocean and the pool area. The bathroom was perfect with space and every comfort that is needed. The pool area is so nice to spend time in the sun or tucked away lin the shade in one of the many pool Side areas. My partner had her birthday while we were there and there was a piece of cake with a personalised message that was so thoughtful! We took a day trip to Mirissa with the driver Russel who was patient and look after us well. Chamesh at the Hotel helped us with any questions we had and everything we needed help with. My husband I recently spent 10 days at the Raddison Blu Galle. The hotel is set on a beautiful beachfront with stunning sunsets every day. On the whole, the hotel is lovely, clean and the gardens and pool area well maintained. Rooms are a generous size and all have stunning sea views. In some places the rooms and a bit jaded are in need of some TLC - water marks on fabric headboards, some wood in the bathrooms is splitting, but it must be difficult to maintain these areas due to the moisture from the humidity. Rooms are cleaned to a high standard every day. Food - if you like curry for breakfast, lunch and dinner then you’re ok. We were staying all inclusive and began finding the variety of food very repetitive……luckily there are excellent restaurants nearby so you can eat away from the hotel easily and cheaply. The main thing about Raddison Blu Galle is the staff, from reception, dining, bars and pool, the staff are very friendly, lovely and very helpful - special shout out to Anjith at the pool!!! If we ever make it back to Sri Lanka p we will stay here again xx

Such a fabulous hotel! I really enjoyed my stay in this beautiful, relaxing hotel which is right on the beach. There are lovely loungers by the pool and on the beach. The staff were exceptionally polite, friendly and obliging and always greeted us with a lovely smile. A special thank you to Tyronne and Dushia who went above and beyond to make sure every experience in the restaurant was exceptional. We particularly loved the variety at the buffet breakfast, and the fish, Samosas and brownies at dinner. The staff very kindly decorated the room for my mum's birthday which was really appreciated. The rooms were cleaned perfectly every day, with new towels and waters provided. The room was spacious, well air conditioned and very comfortable, and also had a balcony with lovely seats. Thanks for making our last stop in Sri Lanka such a special one.

The staff were amazing, they were all so welcoming. I had the pleasure of spending my birthday at the hotel. My boyfriend and the staff planned a birthday surprise including a happy birthday message on the table using petals as well as a cake. I have inserted pictures. They made my birthday so special and I had a great two nights celebrating at The Lucky Elephant, would definitely recommend staying for special occasions. The pool was very nice and the view looking out onto the beach was amazing, helped with cocktails delivered to the sun bed from the bar. Lovely warm welcome in arrival, our room was ready early so we got checked in quickly. The room was very clean, fresh and very nicely styled. With a comfortable bed, a great shower and tea and coffee. There was a mini bar and a nice balcony with a sea view. Everything in the room worked very well, the toiletries were. dry nice. Lovely accomodations in a characterful and charming but not ostentatious hotel. Staff were superb. From the reception to the restaurant I was extremely well cared for. I typically don't stay in resorts/accomodations of this caliber but I am very glad I chose to spend a few days here. The food was excellent, loved the pool and access to the beach, too. I was even able to work on my laptop from the lounge chairs on the beach, the WiFi was that good!

Don't think even for a second, just book!! Where to start? We loved everything!! Staff is wonderful and so is the host. Pool is AMAZING, big, deeper, clean, perfect. Breakfast is amazing, rich and nutritious and healthy and yummy, just what you need to start your day. Ladies making the lunch are the sweetest women ever! Rooms are spacious, clean, modern, bed is so comfortable, nice views from big balcony and the shower is great, water pressure good and warm water available. Mosquito net over the bed. AC is working very good, not noisy, but there is also fan if you prefer it. Location is very good, it may seem it is hidden but just 5 minute walk and you are on the main road with everything close (ATM commercial, restaurants, markets, etc.). This is truly our favourite stay in Sri Lanka by now, we love it so much and want to return as soon as we get to Sri Lanka again. Thank you so much for making big effort in cleaning and breakfast and customer care. We will recommend to everyone!!! Coming from the UK Sri Lanka isn't somewhere we would normally visit and i was a little apprehensive about bringing my young family of 8,7 and 2. Well, i needn't have been! Our accommodation was beautiful we had the whole top floor of the villa to ourselves and was perfect for what we needed. Every morning we had a delicious breakfast made for us consisting of fresh fruits eggs toast and Sri Lankan pancakes. After this, we would normally feed the monkeys that would come into the garden, our kids absolutely loved this! The pool area was great, we had it to ourselves most of the time so another big win with the kids. Finally, a big thank you to all the staff at the accommodation every single one of you went above and beyond to make this a truly amazing experience.

Villa Dineha is in an amazing location, close to the beach but far enough away from the busy road. It’s is spacious, clean and has amazing helpful staff. The wildlife around the villa is varied and the monkeys are entertaining. The pool is spotless and a good size with a shower and sun beds. Breakfast is similar every day but it is tasty, fresh fruit, eggs, toast, pancakes etc. We arrived very late and the guy was there to greet us with fresh juice and a smile, and he proved helpful throughout. The ladies who make breakfast and clean are little diamonds making the rooms clean and comfortable. The owner is very knowledgeable and helps wherever he can Tuk tuk bookings, ideas for days out. All in all an excellent place.

The Hotel was close to all attractions, it has a beautiful swimming pool surrounded by plants, palms and cute monkeys. The owner called us to feed the monkeys and we gave the some bread. On my birthday the staff picked some beautiful tropical flowers from the garden for me. On top of it, they helped my little child to remove a sea urchin's spine. Breakfast was great and the room was clean and large. I highly recommend Villa Dineha.

The hotel is ideally located inside Galle fort. Everything is within walking distance, or a short tuk tuk ride away. The room was large and comfortable. The much needed AC (it was very hot and humid in Galle) was nicely supported by a large ceiling fan. The food (breakfast and dinner - we were half board) in the restaurant was very good to excellent. There’s no pool, but it’s not to be expected in a heritage hotel (strict planning controls apply). There’s a spa usefully located on the premises, who offer a 10 minute free foot massage to guests. Best of all are the staff, especially Rimaz, Dilan, Hassan, Poorna the chef, and Sanushka. There was an initial problem with the room phone, which was quickly sorted out by the staff. Each one mentioned was welcoming, professional and helpful. A lovely gesture for our last evening meal was to abandon the set menu option (of which there were many) and asking us what we’d like of choice. It was very kind of them. All in all, it was a great stay!!

The building - It’s truly a historical piece now available for all to enjoy. I love the iconic heritage building restored to highlight its originality. In addition, all the art decos are aligning to give this beautiful place a real “take me back” into the past. The rooms - love how spacious the rooms are. The beds were super super king size, you can easily fit a family of five in that room. Aircon and fan all throughout - very comfortable.d Bathroom - clean and spacious just the way I like, however no dental kit was provided, which didn’t faze as I have spare toothbrush always on me. Balcony - Sun lounge seating just to soak in the sun if one is wanting some heat on them Breakfast - beautiful breakfast served to your table for USD12 each. I swear the breakfast is a meal for for a king, from western to traditional Sri Lankan food, it doesn’t just stop there, followed by amazing local fruit and fruit juices. Oh! And not forgetting unlimited coffee and tea. The chef comes out to say hello and ask for reviews on his cooking whilst the waitstaff whose smile is the highlight of the breakfast table goes above and beyond. Front desk and bell services - I think I have said enough, I’m reviewing this place with a big green tick. Keep up the good job guys, I will certainly be back.

This hotel made my travel experience even more memorable. Even before my arrival, they proactively offered helpful services, and I immediately asked them to book a spa treatment I had been wanting to try. They also kindly arranged transportation to the airport for my return trip. Once I actually arrived and stayed, everything exceeded my expectations. I arrived earlier than planned, but since a room was available, they kindly let me check in early. The hotel is housed in a historic building, so some aging is inevitable, but thanks to the meticulous cleaning, I had a very comfortable and pleasant stay. The location is excellent—convenient to everywhere and easy to find because of its prominent presence. Breakfast was also fantastic! A luxurious breakfast was included, which brought my satisfaction to the highest level. And that’s not all—using a foot massage voucher, I was able to relax even more, and for the airport transfer, they arranged a luxury vehicle. To my surprise, someone from the hotel personally drove me to the airport. I’ve never experienced such warm and thoughtful hospitality. It was a truly unforgettable stay. I will definitely stay here again next time I visit. Thank you so much!

The Heritage Hotel in Galle Fort has such a charming quality due to the sensitive restoration of all of the heritage building elements. From the dining room which was converted from one of the oldest churches in the town, to the rooms which have fabulous building features such as a raked ceiling, timber and iron details, and comfortable furniture that matches the period. Oh, and of course the much appreciated air conditioning. The staff were warm and welcoming, making us feel life friends from the start. They helped us with everything that we needed, from booking tours (safari and historical walking tour), to recommending places to visit locally, and providing whatever else we required during our stay. Suneth, the manager, in particular was incredibly accommodating in helping us plan the visit before our arrival, so that we could take advantage of the opportunities that required forward booking (snorkelling, whale watching, safari, turtle conservation, historical tours, etc). The front of house staff were incredibly welcoming and interested in our experience to be the best that it could be. The restaurant staff were organised, accommodating to our dietary requirements, and the food was incredible.

Well situated in Fort plus the design and history behind this Guest House is fascinating - read the archive book available upon request from staff. The house is stuffed full of unbelievable antique furniture, en-suite air conditioned rooms are so well appointed, the lush courtyard with glimpses of peacocks and monkeys who look like they’re wearing sunglasses coming down for you to feed them mid afternoon - an absolute delight. A great little plunge pool to cool off in after a long day sightseeing and communal dining area to meet with the other guests - limited to only eight - embrace the ethos of this establishment. Staff are most welcoming, very genuine people. Come and stay here - you won’t be disappointed.

Everything! This hotel is an oasis in the heart of Galle Fort. It is absolutely beautiful with antiques and art throughout whilst also feeling very homely and comfortable. It was our last stop on a three week trip and definitely the highlight in terms of accommodation. The pool is perfect for a dip and is surrounded by greenery to keep it cool in the heat of the day. Next to the pool is a beautiful covered area with comfy seating to lounge on when you need a break from Galle Fort and the heat. This is also where breakfast is served at a communal table meaning you often get to meet other guests and share travel stories- everyone we met was lovely! Only 4 rooms so a max of 8 people in total. The rooms are not huge but big enough and a very comfortable bed and again decorated beautifully. The staff are so accommodating. We arrived early and they held our bags and allowed an early check in and also allowed us to stay late on our last day as we had a late flight. Location is perfect. One street back from Peddlars and close to everything. Very safe and friendly area. Today they brought out some bread so we could feed the monkeys in the courtyard trees and they came and ate from our hands! Breakfast was delicious and fantastic service.

This was the surprise of our Sri Lankan adventure, we pulled up out the front to a very unassuming door, once inside we were plesantly surprised, the property is very large and there was a lovely refreshing well needed pool. The gentleman who checked us in was very polite. The location was fantastic and in walking distance to everything in Galle Fort. Again after walking around the town it was lovely to come back and take a dip in the pool. The breakfast we traditional and a very nice and set us up for a day of adventure, definatley one of our top stays in Sri Lanka and would highly reccommend this little piece of paradise.

This is a new hotel with modern renovation, a wonderful shower, toilet, large room, beautiful view from the window, air conditioning, lots of light, hot water - everything works. It was important for me to have Wi-Fi, it’s generally ok, but there are severe slowdowns in speed, and once there was a power outage (but not for long). For a small fee, a large kitchen with a refrigerator and a gas stove for cooking is available. I would recommend visiting a nearby restaurant with European and Russian cuisine "Cool Spot", and a supermarket Sandagiri Super Market (Pvt) Ltd.

Literally everything. I have never rated an accommodation full scores but this place ticks all the boxes for me, in this price range. I knew about the proximity of the train lines before booking (and it didn’t bother me in anyway) so taking everything into account, it’s an absolute gem. The owners are the friendliest and most caring people, showing very high levels of hospitality from the second I arrived to the second I left. The attention to detail throughout the hotel is not to be overlooked, the cleanliness is impeccable and an excellent breakfast!

I stayed at L&D for three weeks and was happy the whole time I was there. The staff is happily RESPONSIVE to any requests. Anytime I walked downstairs, someone was there to see if I needed anything. Very nice and filling breakfast every day. Comfortable common area for relaxing and nice balconies. I was happy to have a kettle and small fridge so I could prepare my own simple snacks as needed. The wifi worked great. A nice swimming beach with calm water is in easy walking distance as well as several good restaurants.

Fabulous situated property in the heart of Hikkaduwa. Clean rooms with comfy bed, with a warm, powerful shower and cold air con. Owner and staff were very friendly. We read a lot of complaints of the train tracks nearby being extremely loud/shaking the bed etc. Personally feel these comments are very dramatic. We didn’t wake up once during our whole 3 night stay. Nothing to complain about on the train front. Excellent value for money.

The location was great, just a 2 minute walk away from the beach and lots of restaurants around. But keep in mind that the hotel is right next to the railway tracks so you can hear trains from time to time, what however didn't bother me :) the room also comes with a nice and spacious balcony. The host always tried to make our stay as good as possible and is very helpful.

This is quite literally an oasis tucked away from the main road in the best part of Hikkaduwa. It’s the cleanest place Iv ever stayed in Asia and the staff are so lovely! The location is perfect, it’s just off the main road and a short walk across the road to Main Reef surf break. Lots of places to shop and eat all around Oasis Villa. The pool area is lovely, nice and quiet with wild birds chirping away in the background. Breakfast is really good too. Amazing fruit platter, eggs how ever you like them and toast, yogurt and tea and coffee! Highly highly recommend!

Amazing place to stay in Hikkaduwa. The staff were all really friendly and super helpful, going out of their way to make sure we had a good stay. They were lovely with our 2yo daughter too, and brought her her favourite fruit for breakfast every morning. The pool is lovely and the location is fantastic. Very short walk to the beach avoiding any time, except to cross, the busy road. The place itself is an amazing spot to see wildlife from - we saw birds of all kinds, parrots, kingfishers, monkeys, bats. Would thoroughly recommend.

Breakfast was great, plentiful and fresh, made to order. The location was so good, right in the centre of Galle Fort, easy to walk the entire Fort area. I was interested in shopping at Barefoot although the shop in Colombo is much better. I had a massage at the Spa Ceylon branch on the corner from the hotel. It was a fantastic massage experience. We had dinner at 'The Archives' a short walk from the hotel and it was amazing, would recommend. I really enjoyed this hotel. before dinner we went for a drink at the Galle Fort Hotel, we sat on the verandah and enjoyed the history of the Fort. For a one or two night stay the absence of a swimming pool was not an issue. The hotel room was very comfortable as were the common spaces.

Wow ..one of the better places we have been over the years literally around the world. And especially in Sri Lanka. Hence starts with a super refreshing fresh welcomr juice you can chose from the menu yourself. Check in fast and earlier possible than the official check in time. Whole hotel new and with a pretty classy design. Also infrastructure bat a rather very high level. Very cosy rooms with a super bathroom. The staff really extremely friendly, fast and helpful. Especially to be mentionned Amien at the reception. The breakfast simply delicious with good cafe or tea included (not always the case in Sri Lanka). Yet almost too much since two big rounds based on your menu preferences 🤪. Also the dinner delicious for a bit higher price (yet better food than a highly rated restaurant closeby). Super well located in the very center in Galle fort yet rooms all silent (on the other side of the road try tonic spa..very qualitative spa rooms and charmy colonial infrastructure with excellent massage for a fair price). Even so over 150 usd the night..its great value for money👍. Definitely a place to stay☺️!

The hotel is not too big which is good and has nice intimate feel with some character. Location is fantastic being in Galle Fort area. It is not worthwhile paying extraordinary prices for some similar properties in the Galle Fort area as it is all very close by and one can visit those places for a drink or meal. This hotel is good value for money. The room was quiet, spacious, very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was good. The welcome drink was nice. The courtyard area is very nice to sit. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to help. They also helped arrange transport to next location. The breakfast options were decent. The hotel accommodated early check in and later check out which was very nice of them. We would recommend staying here when visiting Galle and we would stay here if visiting again.

Thanks so much to Shakila for taking such good care of us and going above and beyond to make our stay special. The Merchant is a breathtakingly beautiful old building lovingly restored and thoughtfully furnished - each piece is a beautiful piece of woodwork in Galle style and surrounded by beautiful old trees and lush gardens. The room is very comfortable and beautifully appointed with a balcony overlooking treetops and street action. Slept like a baby in this decadent bed. All the food and drinks are exquisite from the complimentary welcome drinks to the sumptuous breakfast!!! The kitchen team were super nice about doing vegetarian and vegan options whenever we asked and the mushroom breakfast curry was incredible!!! Outstanding location too - right in the centre of town - an easy and gorgeous walk to absolutely anywhere in Galle Fort!! Can't recommend this place enough!!!

The hotel is conveniently located right in the centre of the lively bars, restaurants and shopping area. The staff were super friendly and helpful and the service we had was exceptional. The room was spotlessly clean, large and airy with a huge en-suite shower. Food wise, the breakfast and evening menus were extensive and could be eaten outside in a shaded area or in the air-conditioned restaurant, the food quality was amazing. There was an outside bar area where you could sit and people watch and the drinks menu was comprehensive. I genuinely don't think the hotel could have done any more to make our visit more enjoyable. I cannot recommend this place more highly

We spent 2 nights with our family (grandparents and us with toddler). Highlights were: The outside facilities. Both pools (kids pool and main pool) were used a lot by us. The location: stepping out of the property to be directly at the reef with turtles is just amazing. The view is spectacular. Many nice restaurants and shops in walking distance. The breakfast buffet: selection and variety of foods, attention of staff, and the restaurant ambience were really nice. We also had room service which was excellent.

All staff wonderful, so friendly! Samith who cleaned our room left us wonderful amazingly clever towel animal sculptures every day which put big smile on our face :-) All staff at at the pool, the pool bar and bar in evening so helpful and friendly also. Lovely location for pool where you can lie looking at the sea.

Location on the tip of the peninsula is great. Large swimming pool 25m, long sandy beach, beach volley ball, snorkling and surfing possibilities, squash court, table tennis, fitness center and a variety of bars restaurants. Wifi works fine also at the pool. Good and very friendly service everywhere. Nature parks Udawawala, Yala and Sinhara rain forest 2.5h drive away. Galle fortress 25 min drive.

Great buffet for breakfast and lunch, nice pool area. There are turtles in the sea right in front of the hotel. Swimming in the Sea was complicated due to the strong tides, but the pool was very nice.

Having stayed many times in Galle in everywhere from private villas to the much more expensive Amangalla & Galle Fort Hotel, this time we were looking for something small and intimate for myself and 2 friends and Taru Villas Rampart St not only matches its competitors but in many respects beats them. It is a beautifully restored house in an excellent location just across from the open space of the fort walls. Of only four rooms, we chose the two upstairs rooms which are the largest and best. One has a private balcony overlooking the garden & pool and the other, the master sea view suite has an enormous bathroom with claw foot bath. Thick foliage somewhat obscures the sea view but it is still a magnificent room. The public areas are beautiful and we breakfasted daily with a troupe of langur monkeys as our guests! The food is excellent and the pool is a welcome sanctuary from the heat and humidity of Galle. But it is the lovely staff that makes this place extra special. They anticipate your every need and getting to know then all was a privilege. We had 3 fabulous nights here and didn't want to leave but when we did we headed down to their sister hotel in Tangalle so we knew we were in good hands. Many thanks to all the staff for taking such good care of us.

We spent two nights here as part of our tour of Sri Lanka. We loved it here! Located in the middle of Galle Fort, it is a little oasis of calm. While you inevitably can hear the city around you, it is a lovely tranquil space with the rooms located around a pool. The staff are friendly, attentive and provide the best service possible. The building is Dutch colonial which has been beautifully preserved. Our room had a four poster bed and period furniture which matched the style of the building. Breakfast is served at a large shared dining table overlooking the pool. It is selected from a menu which has a good choice of western and Sri Lankan food and is served at the table. All of the sights of Galle Fort are within easy reach, as are the shops, cafes and restaurants. We would have loved to have stayed longer.

One of the most beautiful hotel rooms I’ve stayed in, spacious, beautifully decorated/furnished, super comfortable bed with buttery soft sheets and squishy pillows. We stayed in the sea view room with bath and It was such a treat to have a hot bath! Shower was also excellent. Breakfast was delicious and huge - little things like having proper strawberry jam and good bread made all the difference - pool small but beautiful, our trip was made even better by a group of monkeys playing in the tree by the pool! The staff at this place are impeccable, super friendly and helpful, little things like putting ceiling fans on by default if we sat down on the sofas made all the difference. If we could have stayed longer we absolutely would have.

Stayed at Taru Villas in Feb 2024. The hotel is small, but offers a lovely tranquil setting in the hustle and bustle of Galle. We stayed in a poolside room, which was roomy and well appointed, with a great bathroom. The pool area is lovely and great to jump into after the heat of walking around the city walls. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Overall a beautiful place to spend a few days. Would I come again, absolutely.

My partner and I loved our stay at Ceylon Olive. We stayed in the family room which was very spacious and had a beautiful outside shower. The pool and garden were very tranquil and we enjoyed relaxing by the pool. Breakfast was included and we opted for the Sri Lankan style breakfast which was delicious!! The owner Kumudu was very helpful and suggested some sites to see during our stay.

What a gem of a place to stay. From the moment we arrived Kumudu and team couldn’t do enough for us. A taxi transfer from Colombo airport to Galle was easily pre arranged and meeting the driver was slick. We stayed in a superior deluxe room with jungle view for 4 nights. Facilities great and outdoor shower lovely. There was the added personal touch of having breakfast every morning served on your own terrace. Lush planting made for secluded spaces and good to have a pool too. Although the location is slightly out of the fort it’s easily accessible using a tuk-tuk and it’s only about 40-50 minutes walk if you’re feeling energetic. Special mention needs to go to Eran, the Olive’s on site tuk-tuk driver. It was so easy and reassuring to be able to message and he’d be there to pick up/drop off within minutes. It’s also possible for him to take you further afield. We did a round trip to Koggala lake, a turtle sanctuary, tea plantation and saw stilt fishermen. An absolutely wonderful introduction to Sri Lankan hospitality and we can’t wait to return.

Kumudu, his team and his family are wonderful hosts and people. Always available to help, professional and discreet, yet personal, open-minded and open-hearted. Communication was easy at all times. The premises are well kept, exude a feeling of tranquility and make you forget you’re still in a city. The lush garden around the pool not only provides shade, but also privacy to the two double rooms and hosts an abundance of birds, squirrels and sometimes monkeys. The two beautiful double rooms with high ceiling are spacious, well-equipped, super clean, well-lit and feature a big bathroom with an open air (hot) shower in complete privacy. The beds are comfortable and have an airy and effective mosquito net. There’s a ceiling fan both in the room and on the terrace which was much appreciated as it keeps the mozzies at bay. One of the highlights was the delicious, fresh and plentiful breakfast on the room terrace, prepared by Janidu’s mother. I’m very happy to have found this place and can’t wait to return :)

We recently stayed two nights at Ceylon Olive and overall, it was a wonderful experience. The cleanliness of the property was impeccable, and the location was perfect — close to key attractions yet tucked away in a peaceful area, making it the ideal retreat. The property itself was charming, with a lovely pool and a small garden that added a serene touch to the environment. One of my favorite parts was having breakfast served on the balcony — a truly relaxing start to the day, surrounded by nature. However, I should mention that the property has stairs, which may not be ideal for senior citizens. It did pose some difficulty for the older members of our group, as there was no elevator, making it less senior-friendly. This was more so since it rained making the stairs slippery. That said, the host was incredibly accommodating, always available to help and make sure we had everything we needed. I’d recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful and beautiful stay in Galle, as long as they are aware of the stairs.

If you looking for a beautiful accommodation, where you have the feeling to be special, you find the perfect place in Galle. We spent 4 nights at Ceylon Olive Galle. It was amazing! Location is a “small” paradise, located in the nature where no other hotels are, but not so far to Galle Fort. Our room, the garden and the pool was very clean. During the breakfast which is served on our own balcony, you can see monkeys and get in touch with the nature. The food was very delicious, one of the best during our whole Sri Lanka trip. Doesn’t matter if breakfast or dinner. If you offer cooking classes, I will come definitely! What we have to emphasize is the concept and the service. Everybody has always a smile and the realise all our customer wishes, like special dish, more fruits and tea (tea is high recommended) Everybody take care of us and we have very interesting conversations with Kumudu. We will come again!

We stayed at Le Jardin du Fort for just one night but could take full advantage from the wonderful old town of Galle. This was also because of the perfect location of this cute hotel in a historical building in the heart of the old town of Galle. Not only the hotel’s location was perfect to explore the old town, the city wall/rampage, the clock tower and the nice little shops within the city walls; all in walking distance, but also the manager and all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They were afraid that it might rain - the gave us an umbrella. We had to wait just a very short time until our room was ready - they offered us teo complimentary breakfasts (besides the welcome drinks) in their unique restaurant “Puppets” that belongs to the hotel. Our room was very clean, lovely decorated with a very comfortable bed. Due to the fact that this is an old building the height of the shower was lower than we are used to, but my husband of almost two meters managed to shower anyway;-) So, if you want to visit Galle don’t hesitate to stay at Le Jardin du Fort!

The most memorable feature of this beautifully curated and remarkable small boutique hotel is the warmth and friendliness of owners Maneyika and Charles. The staff and service levels are exemplary and the breakfasts, ordered directly off the a la carte menu, especially delicious and accompanied by Maneyika’s own handmade croissants, baked freshly for you. Oh, and the best coffee, yes truly, in all Sri Lanka. Take note that this charming little place is in the heart of a colorful heritage neighborhood and strict limits are imposed on what can and cannot be done in converting the building into an hotel. Please don’t come with expectations of luxury hotels with all the trappings and expect instead the feeling that you are an honored guest in the company and home of genuine and creative friends.

Absolutely everything! First up, the ambience! It has a unique aesthetic - very artistic. The puppets add a unique look and feel. They’ve designed and decorated the place very artistically. The rooms like something out of a fantasy - they look like rooms from a dollhouse! Very unique. Staying here was an experience in itself. Not to be missed if one is ever in Galle, Sri Lanka. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. You get service with a smile! The staff makes sure that your stay is comfortable. Dimutu, the manager, even offered us a packed breakfast on the day we were to check out early. The kitchen is an open kitchen where one can see the meals being prepared. There is a water dispenser outside the rooms for the guests to use.

We stayed here from December 31, 2024-January 2, 2025 and had a wonderful stay. The check-in was seamless. The rooms were spacious with clean and modern bathrooms and very charming decor full of little touches, comfy beds and our kids loved the loft in the family room! The cafe associated with the hotel had delicious western and Sri Lankan breakfast options, good coffee, and an extensive lunch and dinner menu. We had a great time playing at their foosball table. The location was the perfect walking distance to the fort walls, lighthouse and other historic restaurants and shops. The owners, Maneyika and Charles, were super friendly and went above and beyond by helping us with a small medical issue and recommending nearby attractions. Highly recommend staying here for families or couples.

What a lovely little hotel! Everything is decorated with a lot of love and the room was very comfortable and clean. The staff and the owners of the hotel were very sweet and helpful, organising a taxi to the airport and communicating with us before our arrival. The food was also very tasty. At our arrival, when the owner realised we only booked a second night so that we could freshen up in the evening before driving to the airport, she offered us the breakfast after the first night, which we thought was a lovely and kind gesture. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Galle.

We arrived with our 8-month-old baby and felt incredibly comfortable at the Hotel Finlanka from the very beginning. The rooms are very nicely furnished and the entire complex and the detailed garden are very well looked after with great attention to detail and a lot of emphasis on cleanliness and a well-kept appearance! The pool is also cleaned every day and exceeds our expectations! But above all, the great hospitality made our stay more than perfect! The host of the house (who is also a carpenter) built a really beautiful baby high chair for our son. And the hole family ist so friendly and absolut lovely any time. The completely homemade and very big and extensive breakfast was a real highlight! I can only warmly recommend this accommodation to everyone and for the services you receive, the accommodation is worth every cent! (and in my opinion too cheap for the performance you get) Always happy to come back and highly recommended!

This property was absolutely beautiful! Room view was spectacular and the hotel owner gave free upgrade room ocean facing and you could also overlook the entire property. Super clean and great amenities as well! It’s the perfect getaway if you want to just relax and chill. Near to Spa/Restaurants/Bars/ beach/Shisha/Surf lessons/pool The hospitality is top notch and you’ll feel so welcomed! ALL the staff are so kind, full of happiness and genuinely very helpful & nice. It was so nice being there. The food was also amazing at the property! The room was spacious and comfortable, and I especially loved the wide and cozy bed, which ensured a good night’s sleep. Despite being inside the very busy fort it was very private, no one overlooked our room or balcony and the pool was equally as private. We have stayed in 7 different hotels in Sri Lanka and by far the staff at The Bazaar were the best: friendly, polite, present but not overbearing. I could not have asked for more. I will 100% recommend this hotel.

A visually stunning hotel situated in am ideal location within the Fort. Beautiful rooms with period features. A wonderful library with great views of the rest of the property and an interesting selection of books. An excellent spa with a professional and experienced therapist (Pha). This is certainly worth a visit or several. Senior staff were helpful and efficient. Some of the front of house waiting staff were often wandering around aimlessly when not serving which was a little off-putting at meal times. Tuk tuk drivers are situated at the front of the hotel and occasionally have to be brushed off when not required. On occasion I felt bothered by them every time I left the hotel. Still no swimming pool or bar however they do provide a tuk tuk to take you to Jetwing Lighthouse to use their pool. Alcoholic drinks can be bought in the property next door. On the whole visually stunning but lacking the full 5* experience.

This place is seamless and standards are absolutely as expected from a property of this calibre. The rooms and common areas are immaculate and put together beautifully. Thoughtful details such as complimentary afternoon tea, happy hour in the bar and a la carte breakfast makes this place a cut above. The pool area is a tasteful, calm and immaculate oasis in the middle of the bustling fort. Staff are top notch, fluent English speakers and aware of the customer service needs of their clientele. The property itself is stunning and carefully restored with original features throughout in keeping with the heritage regulations of the fort. There is also a free guided tour/heritage walk of the fort with an expert archaeologist who has worked with planning permissions and renovating many of the buildings in recent years. It was a pleasure speaking with him and learning more about the unesco site. Sugath the head chef came to speak with me personally when I requested more local Sri Lankan cuisine and made me an exquisite bespoke lunch which was the absolute highlight of my trip. Avi and Lihini also went above and beyond to ensure we had our comforts met. Thank you all! We very much look forward to returning here on our next visit to Sri Lanka.

This is a beautifully (minimalist modern with a Moroccan slant) decorated hotel with large rooms and an amazing restaurant (Church Street Social). The spa also looked fantastic and well-priced, but I didn't get a chance to use it. Centrally located in the old town of Galle, the hotel is in a renovated Dutch building with a courtyard in the middle. The pool wasn't ready yet, but I used the one at the Talpe Beach Club a 20-minute complimentary tuk tuk ride away. We had dinner and breakfast at the Church Street Social, which were both delicious. The mixed fruit welcome drink was tasty and the cold towels were perfect for this hot day.

My 8yr old and I stayed here for 3 nights, we loved it. The owners were wonderful and went out of their way to make our stay fantastic. The pictures really don't do the pool area and garden justice. It's really chilled and quiet, the pool is great, covered seating and sun loungers. Plants everywhere, the owners obviously take great care in making everywhere look really nice. We also went on a wildlife and bird watching boat tour organised by the owner. Early morning start just 2 minutes from the accommodation, saw loads of birds including a sea eagle catch a fish right next to us! We took a tuktuk when we first arrived from the train station, but during our stay we walked into the fort area. It was easy to take a bus to other beaches such as Unawatuna and Dewatta. My daughter had a great surf lesson at Dewatta. Highly recommended this place to all!

Wow! 10 out of 10! Book this now before it's too late because it really is a gem of a place and a true find. Set a short tuk tuk ride (250Rps) from the fort this delightful homestay has everything, and I mean everything, you could wish for. Set in a lovely secluded area close to the lake and amidst your own mini jungle you can guarantee a peaceful nights sleep. The rooms were amazing! Huge and spotlessly clean with fabulous bathroom, comfortable beds, aircon and views over the delightful garden. There's a lovely swimming pool and tables and chairs in yet another garden area to the side of the property too. However, the truly wonderful thing about Ging View Villa is the family who run it, so lovely and so helpful. Book now to avoid disappointment

With a really warm welcome we were shown our room which was large and clean. The bed was very comfortable, aircon worked well with the added bonus of a ceiling fan. The bathroom was large and clean. We only had breakfast but it was very tasty. The swimming pool was a great bonus to help cool down during the very hot day! Ging View is a 20mins plus walk away from the Fort or an easy 5 min tuk tuk ride.

The accommodation is fantastic Great AC good space in the room and fantastic breakfast. The host accommodated us for a late night arrival from Colombo airport. The taxi service they offered is great and we used them for future trips. The pool is like animal planet you can see lots of different birds even monkeys if you are lucky! I would book again without hesitation!

Thoroughly recommend these apartments. They are a 5 min ride away from the main beach. So lovely and peaceful. Perfect for couples or families. The gardens and surrounding area are beautifully kept. Swimming pool and sunbed area are spotless and maintained to the highest standard. Also the restaurant area and rooms are beautifully designed and again, kept spotlessly clean. Food was fantastic, really cant fault a thing. Fresh ingredients and the prawn dewal was stunning. Now on to the service, the manager and all of his team, and that includes everyone from the cleaner to the gardener are absolutely fantastic. The level of attention to your needs really are second to none. Nothing was too much trouble and the way they go about their work with a lovely friendly attitude really did top off a fantastic stay . Thanks to you all. If you want a peaceful stay surrounded by wonderful people then this place is for you.

The rooms are large, clean and fresh, and the setting is beautiful, high up amongst the sri lankan jungle with the lizards, the birds and the butterflies. Our host, Frank at Garcinia leaf looked after us extremely well, helping us arrange transport and anything else we needed. The food is local, simple and fresh, and the pool is a delight. When we stayed it was with other sri Lankans and no tourists in sight, which was lovely, but may be due to it's distance from the beach and town with requires a tuktuk ride each time as it is a steep 45 minute walk.

The staff were super friendly and accommodating. We had a welcome juice and unlike other places could take card or cash. The jungle setting and location was quiet a d tranquil and I loved the surroundings. Birds, palm squirrels and the accommodation's dog added to the experience. The room was big and spacious with a back patio area to have drinks and look at the jungle. Tea and coffee and toiletries came with the room, toilet roll. Some places haven't so just thought it was worth mentioning. I loved the outdoor pool and the general outdoor area. I chilled with a book outside.

We liked everything about this hotel. Very spacious room,comfortable beds hot shower. Lovely terrace. Fantastic pool set in tranquil surrounds. Exotic birds in the grounds. We ate at the hotel which offered a well priced menu and the food was very good. We were initially concerned about how far from the beach it was but its only a 599/700 SLR tuk tuk ride and these are easy to find or thevhotel can arrange. The area around the hotel is quiet and very nice to walk around. If we return we would without doubt stay here again.

Fortet i Galle bör besökas. Merissa Beach Club Hotel värt ett besök, för ca 30 kr får man nyttja hotellets faciliteter på dagen. Valsafari men ta VIP plats på båten för det är många kineser som också vill se valarna.

Villa Paradise is situated in a Perfect location right in front of the surf and close to town and eateries. High attention to detail and super clean accommodation. The owner was quick to respond to any issues/concerns via booking.com But what made my stay memorable was the team at Villa Paradise . Big thanks to Sunil, Jahny and team for looking after me and becoming my Sri Lankan family for my last 6 days in Sri Lanka. They deserve a pay rise as they went above and beyond. I’m going to miss them dearly. Thank you everyone

Fantástic stay here, location is absolutely perfect - right on the beach and well positioned to see and do everything you would want to do in Hikkaduwa. Airport transfers were handled perfectly, and staff are really nice guys, and were extremely accomodating with any requests I had. Rooms were large, clean, comfortable and very quiet at night. The hotel bar/dining area is right on the sea, with lovely views morning and night. I totally recommend this hotel for your stay! Thanks again Indika!

This is a fabulous family run hotel with great staff giving a superb friendly service. The rooms were well equipped and very clean. The hotel is located right on the beautiful beach in a quieter part but very close to all the bars and restaurants. Within 200 meters of the hotel we found turtles who came right into the shore to feed - amazing!. The breakfast and meals at the hotel were excellent and well priced. We would stay again and highly recommend.

Villa Paradise is the best choice for your stay in Hikkaduwa Sri Lanka. The hotel is right on the beach. Near the hotel are also two main beaches of the Hikadduwa. The room were so nice, clean and cozy. The food was delicious, the staff and the owner were really friendly and helpfull. We had a very comfortable stay at Fort Bliss and were looked after brilliantly by the wonderful staff, Sunil and Imran. The double bedrooms were spacious, bathrooms spotless and beds very comfortable. Sunil cooked delicious breakfast - eggs any style (we can recommend the Sri Lankan omelette!) plus fruit platters, coffee and toast - a great way to start the day! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff: Sunil was keen to answer any questions and advise on things to do and places to eat while we were in Galle Fort and, even after we had moved on to our next destination, Imran personally oversaw the return of a very much loved sentimental item when we accidentally left it in a taxi. That is going the extra mile! Thank you Sunil and Imran for looking after us so well.

I wish I could stay here longer! Not only is the accomodation clean, beautiful and in the best location, the staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly. I’d highly recommend booking far in advance so you get the best room upstairs overlooking the ocean! The staff are very attentive and warm and made me feel at home (even when I was feeling quite homesick!) You’re also in the perfect location and walking distance to Galle Lighthouse and the main road with all sorts of cafes and trinket shops! As a female solo traveller this is the perfect stay and I’ve felt very safe the whole time

We were greeted with large refreshing smoothies,which was a nice welcome. It is a tiny place, only four rooms in a lovely period house with a small garden and a view to the ramparts and the sea. Our room was huge with a big bed and a good bathroom. We were very well looked after by Sunil and Ibram. We have never before had such huge plates of gorgeous tropical fruits at breakfast, which was all delicious. It is a wonderful little oasis in the Fort just near Flagstaff Rock.

This property was exceptional and my wife and I stayed for two nights and I would like to congratulate the two Sri Lankan Staff, Samil and Imran who were absolutely fantastic. They made us very welcome and fed and watered us brilliantly, nothing was too much trouble for them, they were very friendly and hospitable. I highly recommend staying at this property it’s outstanding. Samil is a fantastic Chef and his breakfast was delicious, his sausage, egg and mushrooms were outstanding. Thanks guys you were brilliant.

I had a wonderful two day stay at Fort Bliss, which is at the heart of Galle Fort. The breakfast was impressively presented, nutritious, and fulfilling, as it set me up for the day. The room and facilities were excellent, as was the attention of the staff. Attentative without being overbearing. My very early departure was met with a breakfast pack, which was welcome on my long train journey. It was a nice touch.

Breakfast was included and really delicious, with fresh local flavors and plenty to start the day. The staff were very welcoming, helpful, and made us feel at home. It’s an ideal choice if you’re traveling with family and looking for good value, comfort, and authentic Sri Lankan hospitality. We would happily return and recommend Albert Guest to anyone visiting Galle.

My stay at this accommodation was truly pleasant. The room provided one of the best hot showers I experienced during my entire stay in Sri Lanka, adding a touch of luxury to my visit. What stood out even more was the thoughtful inclusion of weighted mosquito nets, which felt more protective compared to other places. The net remained undisturbed by the air conditioning, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. The location was excellent, centrally situated with easy access to lovely restaurants and cafes, contributing to a relaxed and enjoyable visit. The staff was uncomplicated and accommodating, making the overall experience hassle-free. Nights were quiet, allowing for a restful sleep.

We loved our stay at Albert Guest. The lady and her daughter who run it are so warm and kind. They made us delicious breakfasts both mornings and allowed us to do our laundry for a small charge. This was greatly appreciated. The room was large and comfortable with a great bathroom and a balcony which we enjoyed. The location could not be better as it is 2 minutes to the lighthouse, beach and to walk the ramparts. We had a fabulous time in Galle and will recommend it to anyone. We thoroughly enjoyed eating at Pedlar’s Inn restaurant as well. Thank you

Fantastic location in the fort this 3 room home stay was great value for money. Best breakfast we have had in Sri Lanka cooked by a lovely family. We had a great time in Galle and this stay was so close to everything! We walked from the train station (took us about 15 minutes with backpacks). Would definitely stay again.

We had a very nice stay at Oceanfront, the room was self contained, everything we needed, bedding and towels good. Nice location, almost on the beach, with good beach walks. Slightly out of town, which isn’t a problem as the Tuk Tuks are very cheap, and nice to be remote from the busy centre. Very nice staff, good contact and service, nice place-and they serve beer!

This was a surprisingly good stay! As a small boutique hotel the staff were warm, attentive and welcoming. Check in was super easy and we were in our room within minutes. The room was newly furnishes with modern décor, large with good facilities. The large sliding doors opened onto a patio with a table and chairs and then walk out with access to the pool and beach areas. The pool was pleasant, the access to the beach is great with a private grassed area which you can relax on and then wonder on the public beach at your leisure. The beach was not at all busy and actually quite nice, although the sea was a little rough for leisurely swimming. The kitchen staff were accommodating, the food was excellent.

The stay at R Degrees, is one in a lifetime! We have had an unforgettable stay, and the staff really do everything to make the stay a perfect holiday! Clean room, clean swimming pool, always pool towels fresh and clean. Private beautiful sandy beach, kind of sheltered so we was swimming alot in the sea also. Very good breakfast and dinner. The perfect staff! The perfect place to relax.

Modern rooms, stylish decor, funky showers, quality linens, comfortable king size bed and great views. Great pool, comfortable lounge chairs and beautiful gardens. A beautiful ocean front property with lots of options for sun beds by the pool or in the garden under the shade of the palm trees and views of the ocean. The staff were outstanding and very accommodating.

We arrived here after an 8 day tour for a six night stay. We found the room to be spotless, comfortable and spacious. The staff were amazing, particularly the general manager who looked after our every need and request. The hotel has its own private beach, plus a swimming pool with gorgeous views out to the Indian Ocean. A trip to the nearest tourist friendly town Hikkaduwa is only a short 15-20 tuk tuk ride. Unfortunately there is not much to cater for tourists in the town of Ambalangoda itself, but we enjoyed the seclusion the hotel provided. Our flight was not until later that night and the general manager kindly let us stay in our room for the day and use the facilities at no extra charge. We were most impressed with this ‘going the extra mile’ and would highly recommend R Degrees as an excellent boutique hotel choice. What an amazing experience! Thanks again.

We travelled as a family of 12 and stayed at this hotel over Christmas and new year. What a wonderful experience. All rooms are very spacious and exceptionally clean with each room having a sea view. Fantastic. Pool & garden area just beautiful. Beach front which was amazing with plenty of sunbeds and lovely towels for everyone at any time of day. The best thing of all, was the staff. Just wow. They could not do enough for all of us to make our stay extra special. Whatever we asked for they did their best to make sure everything was in place. Even the chefs asked daily if there was anything we would like them to cook for us for our evening meal. The lady in the spa was just so lovely and the treatments were great. The whole experience was amazing. Thank you to each and everyone of you for making our family holiday so wonderful.

Excellent beachfront hotel with very comfortable and clean rooms with everything you could need in there, nice pool with a deeper and children’s pool. We kindly got a room upgrade from the ground floor to 1st floor as we went during off season. There were good comfy sunbeds facing the beach. Rooms were very large and had a balcony. Showers were so nice, hot and had good water pressure. Staff were really friendly. Probably the nicest hotel we stayed in in Sri Lanka especially at this price point! Breakfast was also nice. 40 minute walk to the main town but was easy to get a tuk tuk into town and back for like 200 rupees one way. Cargills 2 min walk down the road which was convenient for water etc

Terrific large cool pool in the quiet end of Hikkaduwa Beach. Lovely views from higher floors. We enjoyed having breakfast by the pool every morning. Food was good. Good size room and balcony. Staff were so helpful especially Chamila and Sunil and Soyza. Tuk tuks we're readily available for short 500 rupiah ride to Turtle Beach and other areas.

A little oasis, located in the centre of Galle Fort. extremely close walking distance to the lighthouse, amongst all the shops, spas, fish and fruit market stalls, beach etc. A family run guesthouse run by Roshan and Nadisha and sons. I was warmly welcomed, my room was clean and comfortable, up a spiral staircase that was easy to manage. Breakfast was included and I chose the ‘Asian’ breakfast which was the most delicious pineapple curry, with a nice heat through it. One of the sons, Naveen helped me work out my local SIM card and number. And at the end of a long first day I sat out the front in the evening and enjoyed nice cold beer. It was a very pleasant experience, extremely affordable!

The property is on peddlers St. which is my favourite street in Galle Fort. Its a cosy placed tucked away with quick access to the ocean and other locations. I really enjoyed the comforts of my room. The room and bathroom was very clean. It stayed in the room that goes up the spiral stairway near the reception. The staff and owner are super nice and helpful. The breakfast I had was wonderful. Absolutely awesome location! It's right in the middle of Galle Fort so you can get anywhere you want with a 5min walk. The room was clean and the staff was really friendly. Breakfast was really good as well, they will have a few choices so you take your pick from local or western breakfasts. The rooms are on top of a cafe, it's pretty convenient if you want to grab a quick coffee or chill in the evening with a beer. You cannot beat the value you get for your money here

What a wonderful stay. As a solo female traveler, I really enjoyed staying at Secret Garden Galle Fort as I was instantly made to feel safe and welcomed. Great location, in the middle of everything - the room is clean, comfortable with a great desk and hot shower. The breakfast is fantastic and the staff are so friendly. They really went above & beyond helping with my laundry and just really lovely people. I'd definitely stay again!

Everything was perfect and staff could not do enough for us - we felt like family we were so looked after. Breakfast was absolutely amazing and changed each of the three days we had and was delicious and plentiful served with real coffee which was appreciated. Pool was great after a day out exploring with nice fluffy towels available. Owner provided us with exactly what we felt like - some dhal and rice - which wasn’t even on the menu. Also arranged for our laundry to be processed promptly. We were sent on our journey with some lentil vade because we had commented how much we had enjoyed them at breakfast. Rooms were spacious and aircon worked well. Shower pressure fantastic. Loved it and wished we could have stayed longer - was exceptional!

I had the best time staying here. There was something about the open plan space that made me feel so comfortable. There was beautiful music playing throughout the villa and fragrant incense which just added to the awesome feel of this place. The staff were AMAZING! So friendly, so considerate and went out of their way to help and make sure I had a perfect stay. The pool and outside deck are wonderful, the rooms are huge, clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable. I planned only to stay one night but ended up staying 4 because it was just too good here. I will be coming back for sure.

It's a well-located about 10 minutes walk from Galle Fort and less than 5 minutes walk from the railway station. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with good air-con and a fridge. The breakfast is good and the staff are helpful. The pool is also nice. The only downside is that the wi-fi was strong some of the time, but very patchy and slow at other times. Apart from this issue, it's a great place to stay.

Amazing place!! The villa was great, clean, big rooms and a nice pool! The location was also great, just a short walk down the hill to some shops and into Galle fort. The staff were the best thing about this place, so friendly and attentive, the owner couldn’t do enough for us and loved our little boy! Recommend this place and would stay here again thank you for everything!

Peaceful oasis a very short tuk tuk ride from Galle Fort. Fabulous pool with sun loungers and umbrellas and view of lake. Breakfast with a view, including watching monkeys and swimming land mointor. Mervin and his family are lovely, quiet hosts who provide excellent service. Mervin drove us in his tuk tuk, including to an excellent pharmacy when needed for medication after we had had a wild goose chase with another tuk tuk driver (not their fault) to a no longer existing medical facility. Room is basic but with pool and setting highly recommend and excellent value for money.

The breakfast was very nice, with limited choices served at the poolside. The rooms were clean and tidy, with washrooms. nice and cousy outdoor pool.

The Villa is set back down a lane away from the main road, a 5 min tuktuk ride away from the fort and centre. Very quiet and peaceful surroundings. The room I had was large, comfortable and mosquito free (well sealed) with ac and fan. The pool and lagoon at the rear of the property provide a perfect backdrop. Mervin and his team certainly make a great effort to maintain the high standards of this wonderful little oasis in Galle!

Great location, period house with comfortable small rooms with effective air conditioning and fans. The glorious roof top terrace (which served excellent dinners and breakfast) in the tropical forest canopy had natural air conditioning in the form of a sea breeze and along with the balcony outside the rooms gave a great view of the green that the local people use for cricket practice and of the battlements and the sea beyond. A special thank you to Nish, who always had a smile for us and for whom nothing was too much trouble - he gave us great advice and explained lots about Sri Lankan culture and… we think he was the artist behind the best coconut dal we have ever eaten. We will definitely be back!

We were delighted with our stay at Fort Dew. The location was ideal, overlooking a community cricket ground, the fort ramparts, Indian Ocean and of course, unforgettable sunsets, all from our balcony. Nishshanka, the manager, made us feel very welcome, gave us good recommendations for touring sites, beaches and shopping, and ensured that we caught our early train when we left. We had some interesting conversations about many things, including the installation of solar panels on the roof during our stay. We also highly recommend the restaurant on the top terrace. The chef Hirusha made excellent meals - who could forget the Seafood Platter?

The staff is very welcoming and has been attentive to our requests — they kindly kept our luggage until the afternoon after we missed our train. The room is simple but spotlessly clean, with a large bed equipped with a mosquito net, some storage space for clothes, and a safe. The traditional Sri Lankan breakfast is delicious, and it’s very convenient to enjoy it on the terrace with a view of the sea. This guesthouse is well located within the fort, close to shops and amenities.

Love this place, relaxed vibe, clean, comfortable rooms, lovely friendly, quietly attentive staff, good food in a fantastic roof terrace restaurant, lovely spaces to hang out. Our host could not have been more accommodating or kind. The location is perfect to catch sunsets and sea breeze and an easy walk to sights, shops & cafes. Monkeys, iguanas, kingfishers and the hilarious crows hanging out too (not in the property!) Everything you'd want of a guesthouse. Highly recommend

Perfect location and with the balcony outside room, can sit and enjoy the views! Great views as well from restaurant area on top floor. Staff was very attentive and helpful. The area keep very clean. The room and bathroom big. Nice to have the mini fridge and hairdryer! Easy walk from here around the whole area, as well as a short walk to the highway bus stop area where you can get the airport bus.
