This hotel is a special treat being right on the Douro river and an easy walk to the village below. The staff were special as well with loads of help with day trips and other recommendations. The restaurant however stole the show with a glorious breakfast and an a la carte evening menu which was superb. We had to have the wine tour of course - and it was great and informative. The pool was gorgeous for lazing beside and watching the cruises glide down the river.
The separate bar and fast food area was not our cup of tea, so no sundowners for us.
