"A part of Portugal unlike any other part."
The staff were amazing - so helpful, friendly, and accommodating throughout our visit. The old mining area nearby is absolutely fascinating and well worth exploring. The setting is super quiet and peaceful, with a unique atmosphere that feels like a blend between Australia and Southern Africa. With Mértola only about 20 minutes away, this area is definitely worth a visit. A perfect spot for anyone looking for history, tranquillity, and great hospitality.
Currently the telescope (in the observatory) is broken. Apparently it will be fixed by the end of 2025.
