The perfect spot for a quick relaxing get-away. This intimate hotel (10 or 12 rooms) has good-sized room with a king bed and a twin bed futon chair. The service was very personalized with our meals delivered to our room at our request. There is a nice lawn with good soft grass and a long pool with an attached kids pool also. But the best part was our own private pool, with a roof, so we could keep swimming even during the downpours of the rainy season (my only complaint, which is very minor, is that I would have liked brighter lighting in the private pool). As the name indicates, it's very garden-like with each room set back from the central walkway by a lovely garden area. Less than 90 minutes from central Colombo, I highly recommend it for a weekend getaway. Most or all of the rooms have private pools, some an indoor square pool about 2.5 feet deep, perfect for kids, and with jacuzzi jets against the wall with the bench, and some an outdoor round pool with jacuzzi jets. Seemed very new. Nice menu with items like a watermelon prawn salad, tuna steaks, pasta dishes and local curries. I plan to go again.

Some Bungalows have a LARGE private internal jacuzzi, plunge pool. Others an outside, but not visible to others, plunge pool. There is a restaurant with food cooked to order and next door is a small beach cafe. Beers are around £2 a pint in either. (2019) This is a quiet place immediately on the beach. You can eat breakfast under an open sided gazebo right overlooking the beach and watch local fishermen haul in their catch. This is a beautiful, natural place with very few tourists, but everyone is friendly and helpful and if you want to enjoy Sri Lanka’s natural beautiful beaches and endulge yourself with luxury facilities this is the place for you. The swimming pool is 25 meters long and there is a shallow pool for little children. The entire place is immaculate. Of course you can arrange trips as well. Or walk into the local village of Wadduwa where there are ATM’s and a railway station. One of the nicest places I have stayed and excellent value for money

I can’t start explainig how amazing were the three days we spent in Clive Garden. We spent 10 days travelling around the island and we wanted to finish the trip in a quiet place. We could not have chosen a better place. The hotel is amazing, the staff is always taking care of you and very friendly. The beach was empty, we spent the three days with long walks and enjoying the sunshine! The only thing that I would say to improve is that the first day we were only offered a very short menu with only pasta or rice. That was changed for the other two days so that was good but perhaps it should be clear since the beginning that you have other options. Last night they prepared for us an amazing fish that we enjoyed while watching the sunset, truly amazing :) Our room was perfect, and the private pool was very refreshing for the very hot hours that you can’t be on the sun. We will definitely come back!

I spent 2 nights at this beautiful property, and I was greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality by the staff. The check-in process was seamless, and I was immediately made to feel like a valued guest. We received a great welcome drink, fruit and chocolates! The property is beautiful, access to the beach was perfect but what truly sets The Villas Wadduwa apart from other properties was the exceptional level of customer service. I had a luxury villa with plunge pool; it was perfect and worth the upgrade. We dined on-site for breakfast, lunch and dinner; they offer traditional cuisine and a good variety of other foods. I recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and genuine hospitality in one of the most beautiful destinations in the world.

One of the most precious hotels in Sri Lanka. We stayed with our 4yr old son in one of the villas with private pool. The staff is super nice and the food is excellent. The price for food and drinks are higher but this is because of the great quality and service. If you look for a quiet Boutique Hotel with excellent service and high standards this is the right place. Thanks to everyone for making our stay unforgettable

Our stay was absolutely faultless and we had an amazing time at Ayana Sea, we did splash out and booked one of the Premier King Ocean View villas with a plunge pool and bath but it was completely worth it and exceeded our expectations! Absolutely everything was perfect for a nice relaxing end to our Sri Lankan trip. The town of Wadduwa was a short walk away which had ATM’s, shops etc and we strolled back via the beach and talked to very friendly locals along the way. The drive back to the airport took about 1 hour 20mins and was by far the best stretch of road we saw in Sri Lanka!! All of the staff couldn’t do enough for us and were all lovely people, we were very sad to leave!

We spent our first day/night in Sri Lanka here, and we liked it very much, we might have wanted to stay longer. We got an upgrade to a very beautiful room with a big bathroom including a small private pool which was perfect to cool down after the long journey. The bed was also great, very big and comfortable, it was perfectly silent at night and we slept very well! The food was delicious! In addition, the staff was very helpful with my Gluten-intolerance and I did not have any problems! In addition, they helped us out when our driver did neither show up nor pick up the phone for more than an hour, and thanks to the very helpful staff we found a new one. Thank you for everything :)

We celebrated our honeymoon in Sri Lanka and found this gem to spend towards the end of our trip. It's quiet and quaint. The resort is smaller than what I expected but it was stunning. Green, private beach and private pool if you want to detach from everything. The best part of the resort was the food. Chef Mahindo, who won multiple awards, and his team were amazing. We had a full board and our tummy were extremely full but our souls were happy. Chef M even hosted a sri lanka cooking class which he was very good at explaining and educating us about each of the spices. Can't wait to replicate it at home in London. The room and bathroom were huge. They were clean as I expected. The dining staff and housekeeping were great. They were polite and provided great service. Do note, there is limited activity within the resort when we were there so if you want to explore nearby, it's a 45 min drive but super easy to get uber or pick me. If you need a quiet getaway from the crowd, it's a perfect destination. Highly recommend!

exceptional stuff, everyone was friendly and English speakers. we had an early check-in and Sidat from the front reception was very helpful and accommodating, we got a villa in front to the beach with a beautiful view. the villa was clean and spacious. the plunge pool was bigger than what we expected. special thanks to Sadeep who catered to our every need and was very helpful and made our stay pleasant and even more enjoyable

Literally everything. The hotel was lovely but the staff were exceptional. The location is incredible. The rooms was amazingly finished, and super comfy. There was a huge pool which might be hotter than my home bath and a beautiful beach at the end of the property. Whilst all the staff were genuinely phenomenal and consistently went above and beyond we have to give a special shout out to Ishani who spent the best part of 20 minutes helping my girlfriend with the near impossible task of putting on a Saree. The hotel also offered very good value spa treatments, a decent buffet breakfast and a good selection of dinners.

The property was very beautiful and we could just walk up to the beach anytime. The reception was super friendly and handled everything with efficiency. The rooms were clean and beautiful. The interior was very pretty. The pool was lovely. We had the dinner buffet. The restaurent staff was very welcoming. Two of my friends had dinner from the Al-carte menu and they were given a complimentary dessert because the rest of us were having buffet. The waiters were very attentive and provided us everything we required. Overall, we had a lovely stay because the staff was very attentive and acted swiftly whenever we needed something.

Everything We stayed in the Villa, it’s one of the best in the world. Located in Rubber and Cinnamon trees farm. The staff were super friendly specially Ajith made sure our stay was super comfortable. The food was good, i think they could do better. Overall i will always recommend this place to anyone visiting Sri Lanka

I stayed for 2 nights at the end of my 2 week holiday which was a tour around Sri Lanka. I wanted somewhere I could completely relax with my kindle, and this hotel fit the bill perfectly. If you are looking for things to do around the hotel, don't stay here. I would say this is a hotel you book if you want to completely relax by the poolside. In short, the hotel is BEAUTIFUL. The pool is sublime, the sun loungers very comfortable all set against the perfect backdrop of the ocean. I stayed in the poolside room which was so clean, comfortable and the bathroom was perfect with a gorgeous rain forest style shower. The food was another highlight; my only niggle was the overuse of salt on some of the evening meals but apart from that very tasty and beautifully presented. The staff were warm, welcoming and well trained to provide fantastic service. I would highly recommend.

Everything about this place is outrageously exceptional. The staff are INCREDIBLE. The food is AMAZING. The location is PERFECT. We honestly had the best time staying here mostly realxing in and beside the pool, lazing on the beach, frolicking in the waves and watching gorgeous sunsets. The staff under Rizwan's amazing management ensured that we always had what we needed and were always around just when we needed something. Honestly it was like a home away from home and we will DEFINITELY be returning.

Right on the beach.300meters walk from local train station.but you are not aware of the train. Once you go through the gates it feels like walking into a luxurious property, and something very special. 7 bedroom boutique hotel. We stayed in the triple aspect room. One of the nicest rooms we have stayed in. Staff friendly helpful and attentive. Pool was amazing. If you are thinking of drinking alcohol take your own. Wine is very expensive.

This is a luxurious place with only seven rooms. We almost had the place to ourselves. The staff, especially Eshan and Rukmal were very friendly and attentive. The breakfast and dinners, included in the room rate, was gourmet level and really makes this a great value with luxury. Don’t miss the beautiful pool. Would be great for a destination wedding!!

A beautiful luxurious property with gorgeous sunset. Food was amazing and service too. Only an hour from the airport. Beach very quiet but the under current is very strong so you can’t swim in the sea. There is a large swimming pool to relax in though.

Location is absolutely stunning. Staff is super helpful and kind. We stayed at the ocean view pool suite– it was lovely– private pool with a beautiful view (and privacy)! 10/10.

This was my second time at this property. Last time, I stayed in a private pool villa. Since I traveled alone this time, I chose a standard room. The room size is quite small but still suitable for a solo traveler. I encountered an issue 15 minutes after check-in, but it was resolved quickly. The hotel is very clean, and the staff are friendly. I particularly liked my room because it faced the beach. As I mentioned, the issue I had was addressed promptly, and the key person responsible was the very professional Guest Relations Executive, Ms. Tharindi. She is welcoming, knowledgeable, and attentive. The main reason I am giving a 10/10 rating is because of her outstanding service and quick resolution of my concern. Every morning, she checks in with guests to ensure their comfort, which I truly appreciate. Having worked in the service industry for the past 12 years, I know how important this level of care is. Ms. Tharindi, you are a valuable asset to this property. Once again, thank you for making my stay at Avani so memorable. I would also like to thank the Front Office Manager, Mr. Jayantha, and the Executive Housekeeper, Mr. Eric, who personally met with me and resolved the issue. Additionally, my gratitude goes to the room attendant who kept my room impeccably clean.

I was staying at the Avani Resort for a friend’s wedding. My friend was getting married at the Anantara Kalutara Resort next door and because rooms there were sold out, she recommended booking at the Avani. I was glad I did, because it was just a 5 minute walk to their hotel next door and everything at the Avani was impeccable. The hospitality we experienced from the moment we arrived was warm and welcoming, and the room and amenities were top-notch. The room and bathroom were very clean and spacious - we also had a view of the ocean. There’s a pool and fitness center, the beach is literally a 30 second walk from the pool, and there are a couple restaurants with many types of food options. The food at the restaurant was good, especially the breakfast which comes with many types of juices, fruits, bread, and Sri Lankan specialties. I would 100% stay here again and I would highly recommend this resort to others coming to stay in the area!

Could not fault our stay. Welcome and check-in was superb. Room was so clean and well looked after during our stay with some lovely peronal touches. Food was very good - both breakfast and dinner. The pool service and pool itself was perfect. Such a relaxing few days and every single member of staff was friendly, helpful and courteous. Can highly recommend this hotel for peace and relaxation. It was a tuk tuk ride from the main shopping area, but we didn't even want to leave the hotel except for a walk along the beach to the local beach restaurants and a lovely massage!

In few words - Exceptionally great in everything. The meal was plenty, with really good variety and delicious. Moreover, despite the bad weather, the staff cleaned the pool regularly. The service of the pool was great, friendly and offering everything whatever and whenever needed. Especially Mr. NISHANTA and Mr. CHANDIMA LAKMAL. Mr. SURANGA cleaned our room every day in a very nice way and every day pleased us with beautiful and romantic bedding designs. All the staff in the hotel was very kind and helpful.

Beautiful colonial plantation in quite remote location. Wonderful views, breakfast on the veranda watched by leaping monkeys. Food good quality, very pleasant service. Nice swimming pool with amazing views. Very large attractive rooms. Comfy bed. We would recommend.

We stayed here for 20 nights and got to know the hotel and staff pretty well. It is a great place to relax and although the ocean can be a little rough, we managed to swim everyday. Food quality is very good, especially the seafood restaurant. Same prices as local restaurants, but much better quality and hygiene. No need to leave hotel! Only gripe was music by the pool. They play the same CD over and over again. I kept telling them that people would rather listen to the waves and if the want to listen to music they will use headphones. I hope the management take note. Best thing about hotel is the staff. So friendly and helpful.

We stayed here for the last 3 nights of our holiday for some relaxation after a busy 2 weeks in Sri Lanka. For the most part, this hotel is excellent. It has a fantastic pool - which we virtually had all to ourselves, large, air con rooms, a great breakfast and the place is kept in a very clean condition. However, a couple of things let it down. Firstly, the dinner buffet is not great. No authentic Sri Lankan food is on offer and the food is not up to a good standard and very pricey. We found some excellent seafood restaurant's a short walk from the hotel. Secondly, whilst the majority of the staff are very helpful, I felt that some of the staff at dinner needed to go on a customer service course! One especially was verging on rude. Thirdly, the grouting around the shower tiles, where the wall meets the floor, was looking grubby and needs a good clean. We had a lovely, relaxing stay here, but the above points do need to be addressed.

Hotellet var nytt och fräscht med bra service, men ligger långt ifrån allt. Om man vill se och göra saker så är det inte optimalt, men vill man ha poolhäng och bekvämt avstånd till stranden så funkar det bra. Stranden i sig är öde och svårbadad, men fin.

Останавливался на Шри-Ланке в 3 местах: Унаватуне, Канди и Васкадуве (место отеля). Новый отель (очень редко для ШЛ), с очень добрыми и отзывчивыми сотрудниками. Немного технологичный дизайн. В ресторане очень вкусно готовят. Завтраки по меню, очень неплохие. Отель на море, правда в ноябре немного было неспокойное. Номера очень просторные, в туалете унитаз с электронным управлением (прикольно). Отель небольшой, но все компактно. Место спокойное, окружающие аборигены более доброжелательны, чем в других местах.Не так сильно навязывают свои услуги. Цены в соседних ресторанах и спа центрах на массаж дешевле, чем в крупных курортных местах. Мне очень понравилось, очень радушное отношение, приятно было отдохнуть.

A fabulous hotel with great rooms. We booked a pool access room which was exactly as described. Service from all the staff was probably the best we have experienced. Food in all the restaurants was top quality. Location is poor, only the hotel and no beach. Be aware this hotel is expensive for everything.

This was our first stop in Sri Lanka and it did not disappoint. The first part we wanted somewhere to chill and adjust to the climate etc and Anantara did just that. Great property, food, staff and attention to detail. The whole team went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome particularly to our toddler. Everyone learnt her name and she really enjoyed high giving everyone everyday from front desk, to the restaurant to housekeeping. They were super helpful ensuring she had sufficient food options with her egg allergy too. Food overall was great and rooms fantastic and spacious and well laid out. We had a pool access room and would recommend. We did bed and breakfast but ended up having dinner there most nights so would also recommend doing half board as discovered they often do good deals if you book direct. The spa was lovely and had a great massage. Also, the cocktails from the bar were delicious, some of the best i had in Sri Lanka! Lychee martini being a highlight.

Deluxe lagoon room was large and very comfortable. Huge bed, large walk-in wardrobe, big bathroom with double sinks, rainfall shower in wet room with a free-standing bath. Food in the main restaurant was good, but US$52 for the evening buffet seemed excessive. Pool-side lunch menu was small but reasonable prices and food was ok. Main pool was very big, plenty of sunbeds, and rarely crowded. Good views from the pool. Best thing about this hotel is the staff. The people are friendly and kind. Special mention to Pumudith and Suwindu at the pool who were really lovely!

After many years of coming to tangerine it never disappoints us. From the senior management to the pool attendants they as always gives us a very warm welcome. Food was really good as always and this time we stayed in a room near the pool which was very clean and the bed was so comfortable. My daughter really enjoys coming to tangerine mainly because of the big pool and the playground they have got at the site.pool attendant mahesh is very helpful as always and keeps the pool area very clean. Well done management and the staff for keeping this hotel with the same standards as expected.

We stayed at Tangerine Beach Hotel with my family, and it was truly a wonderful experience. I came from Australia to spend time with my family, and this hotel gave us the perfect setting to create those memories. From the moment we entered, we loved the beautiful look and interior of the hotel. The warm welcome we received from the staff, especially Nishadi and Piyananda, immediately made us feel at home. They went out of their way to ensure we had the best experience. The pool was fantastic – both kids and adults enjoyed it thoroughly. Having the bar right next to the pool was a big plus. After our swim, we were treated to a lovely high tea with delicious finger food and tea/coffee. A big thank you to Mr. Gihan Liyanage for arranging this for us. Watching the sunset from the pool area was absolutely beautiful and so relaxing. Dinner and breakfast were excellent, with a great variety of food, and the buffet staff were always humble, polite, and helpful. The double rooms and family room we stayed in were very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Overall, we had an amazing experience and truly appreciated the great hospitality of the staff. Thank you for making our stay memorable. We will definitely visit again when we return for another holiday.

We have just returned from a three week stay in this marvellous hotel. The staff were all amazing, from the maintenance staff, the pool guys, the restaurant staff and chefs, room service, bar staff, security, to reception staff. Everyone worked very hard and were so friendly and helpful. The food was great too. I recommend trying the egg hopper at breakfast. Some people have complained about the lack of beach but it is only a short walk and there is a lovely pool with pool bar. You also have to remember that the beach was swept away some years ago by a terrible Tsunami with huge loss of life and the island is still recovering so to complain about this is rather insensitive. Thanks to all the staff for a wonderful stay. We hope to come again in the future. PS I also recommend a massage in the hotel spa 🤤

Had an excellent 3 nights at the Tangerine the staff very attentive helpful and polite rooms clean and well equipped buffet breakfast and evening meal was excellent dinning room large and accommodating all in all a fabulous stay The pool is large and pool man very attentive with chairs and towels and then you can walk down to the beach for a swim also there is a small play park for children and a childrens pool

We came to Tangerine Beach Hotel to celebrate our 43rd Wedding Anniversary. We informed the hotel of the occasion and requested lobster and baked crab for our special dinner. To our delight not only was our request granted but in addition a delicious seafood bouillabaisse to start and a whole Anniversary cake for dinner. We had no room for the cake that evening and we’re able to take the cake home to share with friends and family The hotel had created a special menu detailing our courses We observed that all guests were treated with kindness and respect. Not just our dinner but all food was delicious, freshly prepared and beautifully presented All areas, private and public, were tended to very well I treated my self to 2 spa treatments and loved them Throughout our stay we were treated to 5 star service. The staff were attentive and kind. The pool was beautiful. Very clean and calm. On arrival at the pool the attendant was there and straight away asked where we would like to rest and made the area ready without any fuss We loved our stay so much we booked an extra night We can highly recommend coming to stay at Tangerine Beach Hotel. We went to Citrus Waskaduwa for our Anniversary, and the stay was a pleasant one. From check-in to check-out, everything was so organized and smooth. Staff were very friendly and always helped us in every possible manner with a smile. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. The buffet was fine but not up to expectations, being too costly compared to the selection. The main bar was classy and we had a great time there. However, the pool bar and the pool area was a bit annoying as people were behaving inappropriately, shouting and wearing inappropriate attire. (T-shirts in the pool)

This is our 3 rd stay with this Hotel, the view is amazing you are straight to the Indian Ocean and it’s beautiful, huge garden and a nice swimming pool lots of space around swimming pool for sunbathing etc. Special thanks to Front office Manager Miss Thushari and her Assistant Miss Abhi, made our stay more comfortable, overall everyone is very helpful and friendly , Operation Manager and Chef 👨‍🍳were excellent, they are very professional they know their customers! We were very happy with our stay at Citrus Waskaduwa. We will be there whenever we visit Srilanka, we haven’t found any other hotel with such a quality. Thanks for all the staff.

I was in the hotel for 8 nights & 9 days. Excellent location, beautiful hotel, Nice view and just perfect for a holiday. The staff were very friendly and always smiling and welcoming; greeting me everytime they would see me. Especially Danura was helping me throughout my stay in the hotel starting from the very first day, Breakfast buffet was awesome. The food was excellent - fresh and lots of variety. It is a well-balanced internal first class breakfast and I did enjoy having all variety of typical Sri lankan food which I missed a lot as I live overseas. I should mention Room service as excellent condition as well. If you are looking for a swim, pool is long and wide and well maintained. All the rooms face the ocean and the view is magnificent from the balcony. They have a small table in the balcony too. The rooms are comfortable, big enough for two people and may even be enough for a third one. There is a big TV to lay and watch as well. I asked for Ambulthial Fish to bring back to Sydney , Danura organised that for me even without thinking twice ,and I really admire the way he did it . I will recommend this hotel to whoever wants a nice relaxing holiday in Sri Lanka. I’ll be going there again for sure, I got a very good rate for a 5 star hotel. This time I had gone alone, but next time I’ll be going with my husband and kids! Akila and Ranwala voluntarily asked me whether I need any help. It was nice to see such a great human qualities.

We stayed at Citrus Waskaduwa last weekend for our second wedding anniversary, and it was a truly wonderful experience! 💕 The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making our stay very relaxing. The staff were extremely friendly, polite, and supportive, always ready to help with a smile. The location is perfect — right by a beautiful beach with a calm and peaceful pool area that’s perfect for unwinding. The restaurant was spotless and quiet, and the food was absolutely delicious with a great variety to choose from. What really touched our hearts was the special anniversary surprise — we had only mentioned our anniversary in the booking note, but the hotel went above and beyond by arranging a beautiful room décor and a delicious anniversary cake for us. It made our day extra special. Thank you Citrus Waskaduwa for such a memorable and heartwarming experience. Highly recommended for couples looking for a relaxing getaway! 💛

Me and my friend had a very peaceful time at the property. The property is located in the beach. The staff is very attentive and find out everything that we need before we ask. Food is tasty and good size of portion. Clean pool and garden. All the best till next time

It’s a small hotel with 12 rooms. But facilities are like 3 stars hotel. Spacious rooms clean bathrooms. Beach front large balcony for all rooms. With swimming pool. Nice place with Very friendly staff. Specially Foods are delicious and have quite big variety. They do in room dining too.

Staff were helpful and very friendly. The food was great value and very tasty. Chandra on the bar / food station was a delightful gentleman and so was the porter who stored my bicycle. Rooms were very spacious and the views over the pool to the sea fantastic.

We had a wonderful 2-night stay at Mermaid hotel. The hotel was maintained excellently by the staff and all of them were really helpful. The rooms were clean. It had a large bathroom. The food was great. The chef and the restaurant staff were kind enough to ask for our preferences and prepare and serve delicious meals. The gym had all the equipment for a proper workout and the gym attendants were so helpful. Specially Mr. Shiwantha who was kind enough to play cricket with our kids, made their day. The pool is also well maintained and the length and the depth of the pool is ideal. We also had a birthday during our stay, and the restaurant staff were kindly prepared a complimentary birthday cake. I'll consider staying at this hotel again when I visit Sri Lanka due to the friendliness of the staff and the excellent service.

The hotel has a lovely well maintained big garden area looking over beach/sea. Great for guests who don’t want to be right next to the pool.

Meals were great. Excellent breakfast & dinner spreads. A wide variety of items were available and were nicely prepared. Pool was large and cleanly maintained. Pool is quite shallow, safe for kids, but not exactly great if you want a deep dive. Pool area is really nice and well maintained. There's a pool bar as well. Room & bath were spacious

Had a great stay at this place last month . Food was delicious and there were many choices too. There are two pools in the hotel. The second pool has a pool for little kids with low water levels which is great. Not only swimming you can do many other activities like Darts, volleyball, cricket. Plenty of space to have your own peace. There us a gym and also a jogging path if you need to do some cardio. Loved staying at this place. Definitely I would recommend to anyone who looks for a calm and quiet stay with a great service.

This hotel is located in a beautiful location near the beach. Very friendly & helpful staff. The room was very clean & had a garden space & a balcony area. Delicious Dinner and breakfast with more varieties. The hotel also had a large pool with a fantastic baby pool area too. Highly recommend for families and friends visits.

Hotel is near the sea beach, all rooms are facing the sea, has a large area with exuberant vegetation and a garden very well maintained, two swimming pools, very friendly staff, 2 restaurants & 2 bars, good food - sea food specialties, more or less Indian taste, good and animated atmosphere - swimming pool aerobics, Yoga, live music, fun parties. Offers for many short trips (one day) available. The sea shore is steep and wild, big and rough waves most of the time - not recommended for swim. Near hotel available many sea food restaurant, with nice food and staff, but questionable hygiene. Prices outside hotel are much lower - a normal restaurant is 5 times cheaper, local food.
