What an absolutely stunning property. My villa was amazing with my own plunge pool. Bed was huge and very comfortable. The grounds were beautiful. Great breakfast and other meals.

The River Kwai Resort was our 2nd hotel during our trip to Thailand and have to say that we really enjoyed our stay. We got there by means of a longboat trip, all luggage of the group was loaded on the longboats as well and later delivered to our room. The boat trip was a very nice start of this stay and after arriving at the hotel pier we walked up to the reception where we got our room key. The entire resort is very green with loads of beautiful trees and plants as well as quite some nicely and beautifully coloured birds. Our room was very spacious and clean, nicely decorated with a lot of wood and a nice bathroom. Breakfast was well organised and had more than sufficient choice. We had lunches and dinners in the same restaurant, nicely sitting in an open air environment, especially in the evening nice to listen to the surrounding sounds. The menu for food and drinks was substantial and quality and freshness of the food and drinks like fresh made juices was very good. At the pool they also had a small bar and also the fresh made juices, etc. were of of a very good quality. We also had some Thai massages and these were great, one suddenly realises there are more muscles than you expect. :-). Intense and very nice. Really felt refreshed and afterwards had a nice fruit juice at the nearby pool. All staff members were very friendly and helpful. If you like peace and quiet in a natural environment we definitely recommend the River Kwai Resotel.

Right in the middle of the jungle, fabulous setting and right next to River Kwai. Quiet, peaceful. Room was well appointed, pools were well cared for, pool bar. Restaurant to a high standard. Staff more than happy to assist. The boat up river to see the waterfalls was a highlight and a must do.

Everything was perfect except how far the resort is. Otherwise everything is beautiful, best staff Khun Jane at Reception, K. Saifah at the bar who worked at the bottom pool, and a lovely girl in the bar at the top swimming pool who made very delicious mai tais.

The size of the bungalow and bathroom was excellent. Having a choice of two pools was a delight. The grounds were well kept and it was lovely to take a walk around the grounds or river. You were truly immersed in the jungle and it was a fabulous place to relax. Pool towels - good quality and as many as you needed Evening meal - excellent and reasonably priced for a hotel Mon village shop - can walk to it, great to support the local community, sold basic essentials. No alcohol but shop 4 mins drive from hotel did, if you needed it.

The location is a little remote so bring your own car or driver. The staff took us on a beautiful boattrip. Warning: do not go to the tigertemple!! It is a huge touristtrap.

The attractions that we are impressed with and have been able to experience the atmosphere. Is Mida Hotel is a luxury beach hotel available. The interior of the room is decorated in a simple modern style that looks comfortable and the bathroom is clean and has all the amenities. There is a pool to play. And there are food arranged in a buffet style. There are both local food to food in a 5 star hotel I had the opportunity to travel because my sister was an employee in Mida Company. Me and my family are very impressed with that place. Good service, good conversation and natural Phil.

The hotel was really nice location and packages included with rafting and breakfast ,was great combination choices ,nice and privtae swimming pool ,breakfast was good and totally we all happy ,dining at riverside is the best atmosphere and very teasty food !!!recomemded with group more fun!!

Great place to stay, staff was excellent. The V-cafe next door is amazing with cute little food and an amazing view you can never get tired of. The hotel ladies were amazing and helped us at every turn, especially since it is sometimes tricky to get a ride in such a quiet part of the city. The rooms offer a little escape with your own pool and it really feels like a retreat in solitude out there. The floating breakfast was amazing, I would book it again.

Pom our host went out of his way to make our stay comfortable, upgraded our room and even made us a breakfast sandwich the morning we had to check out early. The property is well maintained, clean and attractive with fun, quirky little statues. It has peaceful surroundings and feels like you are in the middle of the jungle. There’s an outdoor gym, massage facilities as well as a lovely viewing platform by the river where you can sit and enjoy the peace. The food is tasty, home cooked & good value.

If you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy the nature, this is it! Staff at the resort was magnificent. Place was in the middle of jungle and close to river Kwai. Quite, small and cost resort. We feel on love with the place and Mr. Pom. All the burgers were really good and tasty 😋

Staffs were so lovely and helpful. They picked us up at the Lum Sum train station and even sent us off at the bus in the morning. Also the room with the river view was clean and the food price was reasonable. I’d recommend this resort💯👍🏻👍🏻

I'm gonna give 6 stars to Pom for his attentiveness and friendliness. We came for a business trip of 9 pax and he helped prepare and transport our activities throughout. The location is quite far from the amenities and cities which we have expected before arriving, and he has helped us with transportation, meals etc. We felt like home. He cooked breakfast and dinner for us, and understand our limitation as Muslims in terms of food. We would definitely come again as he has created one memorable trip for us :) Thanks Pom!

Do your research before coming to Jung Ja Hut. It was a great place for my trip. There's many huts to choose from. Mostly groups come here. I was a solo traveller and had access to the shared kitchen and a wonderful pool. Down an gravel road, peaceful and quite. Yes, bring your own food.

We had an amazing two day stay at this beautiful hotel. It’s located in a peaceful area, about two and a half hours from Bangkok. We stayed in Villa #4, which was lovely and had everything we needed except for a stove. The villa also had its own private pool. The resort has a restaurant, and there’s a small traditional supermarket nearby. They also offer bicycles and have an outdoor public pool. The price for the villa, including breakfast, was excellent, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They also provide a complimentary afternoon tea once during your stay, which was a nice touch. The city center is about a 30-minute drive from the resort. However, the resort’s transportation services are quite expensive, so I recommend taking a taxi for a better price.

We loved this property! It is very modern, urban chic and so tastefully done. The room is spacious and beautifully decorated, with a comfortable huge bed, wifi and everything you could need. We had a balcony overlooking the pool and the river. The pool is gorgeous and we enjoyed a few swims. Drinks, breakfast, one complimentary afternoon tea and dinner at the restaurant were all fantastic. The resort organised a day tour for us which we loved. It was a long day though with a bit of walking but we enjoyed experiencing Hellfire Pass and getting to see the countryside. The staff in reception had excellent English which made communication easy. Worth every cent and I highly recommend this property.

Very peaceful and natural location situated right on the river KWAI. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Pool xside cabin suite was huge with great views of river and pool.

Very enjoyable stay at Cross 2 and I’d certainly recommend and revisit, really like what the brand are looking to do. Excellent location, very peaceful and only a 15/20 minute taxi into Kanchanaburi. We took one of the private kayak rooms floating on the river, excellent room. Spacious, clean, plenty of amenities and the bonus of being able to kayak off for a bit. Lots of little extras...a bottle of wine, meal discount etc were thrown in which was a great touch. Staff were great and very relaxed, especially Prai in the restaurant. Food was really good. Excellent choice for breakfast and dinner. There are a few things that could be even better More cost hangers, make the WiFi password free as kept on having to reinput the code, offer shuttle transfers to Kanchanaburi, more swimming pool management - had to ask for towels twice.

Perfect stay from the first minute until the last one! The Waterfall Pool Villa is amazing, well done full of fun & useful amenities, Marshall speaker in house, L’Occitane amenities, & the unique Cross brand lifestyle fun touch! The breakfast is always tasty, serving super fast & with a large menu (Sparkling wine available if you want to flex a bit!) Last but not least, the staff.. They made us feel so welcomed & with a sincere communication & smile! Kudos to K. Meow & K. Ning & everyone else! You are an amazing Team guys!

Too far to get either of Erawan National Park and Kanchanaburi though. 家族経営の素敵なホテルです。ランドリーやライドもお願いして、別料金なしで大満足でした。スタッフの皆さん、とても優しい笑顔で、良い家族旅行になりました。エラワン国立公園まで700mと説明ありますが、正しくは車で40分以上でした…カンチャナブリやエラワン滝までアクセスは随分時間掛かりますが、近くのナントク駅までライドをお願いして、電車でバンコクまで行けます。ノスタルジックなこの電車の旅はオススメです‼

Very nice and friendly owner. Food is ok. It is good if can fix the bathroom door and seal the door. So the water cant go through the door. Over all very good accommodation.

Nous avons été tres bien accueillis par le propriétaire et tout le personnel. C' est un bel endroit en pleine campagne. Nous y avons trouvé une petite épicerie à 5 mn à pieds et pas croisé un seul touriste. La chambre etait spacieuse et propre. ( tres grand lit) La piscine est tres jolie. Les draps de bain sont fournis. Il y est très agréable d'y manger le soir. Nous y avons pris quelques repas, nous y avons bien mangé. Navette payante pour nous emmener sur les sites proches ou à l arret de bus qui conduit au parc erawan ( 30 mn de bus) Le seul point négatif et qui n' est pas de la faute du propriétaire : un voisin passe des heures à chanter les mêmes chansons en boucle, jusqu'à tard.

Very green area within the national park area. very friendly English family service. all the Kachanaburi attractions within a 1h drive reachable. A really attractive quite place as the contrast to that crowded and loud Bangkok area... about 3.5h drive by car. Thanks Phil and Paul

The resort really nice and design target group for feminine which everything all white and look country style. I booked for deluxe room but the room area still quite small when compare to the similar grade resort. Services there quite great but as it not five stars hotel. Hence, the services quality is best at their class.

This was the first time we stayed at Kanchanaburi. We travelled from Bangkok via Grab. The destination was easy to get to, situated at the side of the main road. On arrival the staff checked our passport, gave us our key and we were set to go to our room. This quick process was nice after nearly a 3 hour journey. The room was decent sized but more importantly clean and smelled lovely, with a Fan in the bathroom and AC for the room. The location also is great if you want to order food via GRAB. You get the option of putting a sign out if you want your room made. If not staff will put new towels, toilet paper bin bags etc onto a little hamper stand outside your room. Check out was also a breeze. Just to note the staff are not fluent in English but this did not cause any issues.

Loved it!!! Manee and her team were fantastic hosts. The location was great - close to many attractions, easy to get transportation and lots of restaurants nearby. The Family Townhome we stayed in was very large and convenient with bathrooms and fridges on each floor (3) and a common space on the ground level. Manee was so kind and generous and gave us tips about what to see and where to eat (Bells pizza) as well as helping us to arrange tours and transportation including helping us get to our next destination. Breakfast was delicious with a good variety. Thank you Manee and the rest of your team for making our stay so enjoyable. Hope to see you again one day. PS. There is a great elephant sanctuary nearby please don’t ride the elephants and instead get close up at a sanctuary and care for them instead.

I had an excellent stay! From the moment I arrived, the service was warm and attentive, making me feel right at home. The staff went above and beyond, always ready to offer assistance or recommendations with a genuine smile. One delightful perk was the fresh complimentary snacks provided daily. It was such a nice touch to have local treats giving a taste of the area’s flavors without even stepping outside. The location is also a huge plus, just a short distance from Kanchanaburi station, which made travel super convenient. Plus, there are plenty of charming restaurants and cafes within walking distance, offering a range of delicious food options. It’s the perfect spot to relax while still being close to all the action while in Kanchanaburi. For anyone looking to stay in Kanchanaburi with excellent service and thoughtful touches, I highly recommend Chez Bure - Bure Homestay.

Chez Bure was larger than I expected but very quiet. The woman in the office was very helpful and arranged a tuk-tuk and taxi for us on short notice to see the railway and to get to the bus station. She also helped us get in touch with the elephant preserves to book/confirm a day. Water freely available from a dispenser. Breakfast our first morning seemed sparse but it may have been a combination of a holiday the day before and not many guests that night because it was far busier the next morning. Good variety of fresh fruits, savory dishes, and some bars and such to grab for later. Room was comfortable and open with a small balcony, though no screen. It's not exactly happening nearby, but that seems relatively par for the course in this part of Kanchanaburi.

An amazing luxury on our trip! Rooms were absolutely top notch. Great service and in red half board. Cocktails were also great value and delicious! Boat transfer is very easy and cool. Great for a family trip as the staff were incredible and the food is fantastic. They also have access to the Resotel which has a pool - about a 600m walk. But the jumping and floating down the river was heaps of fun. A naturally beautiful area and an amazing stay!

Absolutely amazing accomodation. Little bit of luxury while in being able to enjoy the nature of the river Kwai. Great to be able to use the bikes to go to the neighbouring resort and use the pool facilities.

This is an amazing hotel in an incredible and unique location. Great comms about the boat ride to the property and the reception staff were very helpful in arranging an activity and our outbound transport. The pool that you are able to use is a 10 minute walk away in another resort but it is worth going. Floating in the river from the hotel is great fun - just ask at reception about what to do. The high ropes activity up river is very good although a little pricey. The bedrooms are superb. Very comfortable bedding and lovely decking outside on the river front. Dinner menu is very good and the quality of food for lunch and dinner was great. Breakfast was awful sadly. Poor choices and poor quality. We had ants in our croissants. The bungalows and surroundings are amazing. Staff is very friendly and helpfull. Food (a la carte) was good. You can use the pool from a nearby resort. We wanted to visit Erawan falls but due to bad weather in previous days the falls were closed. We loved our stay so much, we didn't even mind..

We had incredible time at the guest house. We are a family of 2 adults and 3 kids, and we stayed for 5 nights in two adjacent rooms. The place is magnificent, full with wooden carvings and immersed in green, forming a peaceful atmosphere. Rooms are super clean and with large windows, and we got fresh water bottles every day straight to our fridge. Set in a quiet location, yet walking distance to the fresh market, 7 eleven, multitude of local stalls, and even a 24 hr McDonald's if you'd like. But the best thing in PY are the owners. They were so friendly and helpful, and took care of all our needs - from shoe repair and laundry, to arranging a cooking class or setting a visit to the adventure park. They even gave us a ride almost every night to the walking street or the night market. Always smiling and ready to assist, from the moment we entered the alley leading to the guesthouse, till the moment they dropped us at the train station when we left, sending us away with a Thai treat they made for us for the road. It really made our vacation in Kanchanaburi; if we're ever to visit again, we will definitely stay here.

The guesthouse has very nice and original decor decor and furnishings and the rooms are very nice and comfortable. It is also within walking distance of both the bus and minivan station and the train station (although the latter is half an hour's walk away). The owner - a local woman - is very helpful and forthcoming, and she's also one of few communicative Thais with a genuine interest in foreigners that I came across on my two trips to Thailand: once I even asked her to call a bike rental shop to let them know that I would return the bicycle I was renting from them later than agreed, as unfortunately I cannot speak Thai, and she kindly obliged. Not to mention that her husband was twice kind enough to give me and other guests a ride to the minivan and bus station so that I did not have to pay for a tuk tuk.

I had an amazing stay at P.Y. Guest House. Rooms are simple but very clean, bathroom is attached but outside, which i liked. What makes this such a great stay is not the rooms per se, it are the lovely owners. They go out of their way to help you with anything. I rented a scoooter here, they brought me to the bus station for free multiple times. Next to that they also helped me on my way to my next destination. Wanted to go to Sukothai via Bangkok, they however gave me another option which was way shorter. They were even present at 6 a.m. to give instructions for the bus station. All in all I feel this is the place to go in Kanchanaburi, nothing fancy but clean and extremely nice owners. Kanchanburi is an amazing place with a great night market, lots of history and waterfalls.

Very beautiful guesthouse; a little paradise inside the city with many plants and small animals. The owner is very friendly and we can’t thank her enough for the care and friendliness she showed us. They provide American breakfast, but when we indicated we didn’t like that, she got us sticky rice in pandan leaves every morning. I also said I wanted to learn Thai and she gifted me children’s education books at the end. She also told us things about Songkran and helped us to make plans for our journey and day trips. Furthermore, her husband (we think?) drove us anywhere and they have a massage place they bring you to which is also a great place with a nice owner that we had nice chat with. It was really great overall and touched our hearts. Kop khun ma kha 🙏

The P.Y. Guesthouse is set down a quiet alley away from the main road. The rooms are set each side of a tropical garden and had everything we needed for our stay. Breakfast was available if you wanted. It was a simple breakfast of coffee/tea, toast, croissant and fruit. The owners were lovely and on checking in we were given a map detailing places of interest. The owner suggested some places we may want to visit. It was a short stroll to the river front, skywalk and the Saturday evening river front night market. The owner also offered an excellent value for money trip to places of interest close to Kanchanaburi. We really enjoyed the trip. The owner also helped in arranging tuk tuks to/from the station. If you come to Kanchanaburi this is the place to stay.

We stayed at Good Times Resort for 3 nights and had a fantastic experience. The hotel was very clean, comfortable, and overall a lovely place to stay. The pool and communal areas were beautifully maintained. Our room was spacious and spotless, with tea and coffee making facilities, a fridge, and a small balcony. Pool towels were also provided. The staff were consistently polite, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. We also booked a day trip through reception to the waterfalls, Hellfire Pass, and the Bridge over the River Kwai. It was a great day out, and the included lunch was delicious—excellent value for money. The on-site restaurant was reasonably priced, and seating overlooked the river. All of the meals we had there were delicious. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again if I return to Kanchanaburi.

One is a good size for a swim and the other smaller pool is great for a cool down on a hot day. Plenty of sunbeds. Buffet breakfast is delicious, with different hot food options every day. The setting was gorgeous, felt like you were in a little garden oasis bubble away from the hustle and bustle - but so close to great bars and restaurants, and easy travelling to the best sits in the area like erawan falls with heaps of taxis/car services around. Very useful for us as we only stayed two nights and wanted to get out and see the sights. We didn't get a chance to swim but there were TWO pools you could relax around. They also offer in-room massages which was bloody brilliant - a choice of Thai, oil or foot massage. Breakfast was just perfect - love a buffet and all the food was delicious. Loved the little coconut pancakes and the fruit selection was fantastic! Good coffee too. And the setting with the restaurant down by the river was just wow. Gorgeous.

I loved the restaurant on the river and the surrounding koi ponds and streams. I appreciated two swimming pools. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. I liked the staff and how helpful they were. As well, the location was great in that it’s not in the middle of the busy part of town. It’s in a quiet zone but such an easy walk to a great massage (at Beau Massage with Anong), other choices of restaurants to mix it up, and any other kind of shop you may need. All walking distance. Also very safe. Super gorgeous garden and vegetation around in the property that’s well manicured and taken care of.

The bed was comfortable and we had two pillows each. We loved the walk in shower that was not a tub. They had a hotel sized fridge. The staff was terrific. They were friendly and were not intrusive on our comings and goings. They were clear on amenities and information about the property. The first night the restaurant was super busy. The man was running all over to serve people at the outdoor bar, pool, and restaurant. The food was wonderful the first night and so was the service. The outdoor area is staged for photos and the lighting is beautiful.

We stayed in a deluxe garden view room for three nights; the room was a spacious cool and quiet room, with plenty of room to spread out, a mini fridge with freezer, and a well equipped bathroom. The pool, overlooking the river Kwai, while on the small side was a little overwarm toward the end of the afternoon and it was hit or miss finding a towel some days, but overall the view and attentive bar staff made up for that. The breakfast buffet was great, with plenty of choices, and we ate dinner for all three nights. The food choices were excellent, with a nice mix of dishes under the stars by the side of the River, watching the train cross the famous bridge regularly. It was Song Kran when we visited, and activities were on offer at the property. It would have been nice to have a shuttle to run guests to the train station, so maybe something to think about in the future. Overall, a highly recommended stay in this nice area, and handy for the train station to travel up to Nam Tok or back to Bangkok.

Very quiet location, a bit outside the main town but only a short stroll from the bridge on the river Kwai and a train stop (we took the train back to Bangkok Thonburi from there). Very nice garden and hotel, our room was lovely, very stylish. The staff are very efficient and helpful, and very kind. The buffet breakfast is excellent value and what a pleasure to start the day with a tasty breaky with such a view of the river! Pool area is pleasant and very well maintained, there are loungers and umbrellas as well as bean bags so ample space to relax and enjoy. We asked the receptionists to help us book a car with driver for the visits and activities we had planned and we couldn't be happier with the service: our driver was just perfect, very discreet but also willing to share information when needed, careful and kind. The price was reasonable for such a quality of service, especially compared to prices in Europe... I also booked an aromatherapy massage and I can honestly say it was one of the best I ever had, total bliss.

The hotel location was perfect. A short walk from the bridge and the train station (the stop after Kanchanaburi when coming from Bangkok). It was easy to get a tuk tuk to the town centre or bikes were available from the hotel. The setting of the hotel was amazing. We loved spending time at the restaurant, on the terrace or at the pool , all overlooking the river. Very tranquil. Delicious food both at breakfast, when there were so many choices, and at other mealtimes. Our room was small but had everything we needed. The staff were kind and attentive.

A special mention to the Belgian manager/host Leonder. What a great guy who has had an interesting life of cycling around the world for a couple of years. Nothing is beyond him and he greets everyone with a warm welcome. But he needs to brush up on his pool skills 🤣 (only joking Leo).

Owner was super nice and made an effort to help everyone who was interested to get to know each other. Even played a game of pool at the local bar with her. The location was good as next to the train station, night market and atm. The hostel also attracts many different friendly travellers in my experience. It was very clean.

Really vibrant and fun hostel thanks to the amazing hosts. Host Ping Pong has always something fun to do like heading to the night market, playing games or heading out to a pool bar. Met some great people here. Dorm is simple but functional. Overall really great value for money!

I didn't write a review right away because I wanted to take some time to write a detailed review about this place. The tl;dr is that this has to be one of the most social hostel run by some of the loveliest people I have ever met. The boring details is that the location couldn't be better! It's right Infront of the bus station to Erawan falls, closer to the train station, and most importantly, close to the daily night market. The night market is full of stalls offering a big variety of food and drinks for very little price. The heartwarming detail is that Mimi and everyone else who run this hostel are absolutely without-doubt some of the friendliest people you will find in whole Kanchanaburi. We cooked food with her, went to the market, and even went for a swim. Seeing the big smiles on their faces will instantly make your day better. I lost count how many mangoes and other snacks we had together, how many laughs we shared, and how much I learned from Mimi about Mr. Boonpong and the history of Kanchanaburi. I also found who could likely be the love of my life, but not everyone gets to be that lucky.

a super lovely place with a nice social area inside and out the front. everyone was really welcoming and excited to get to know you! shout out to ping pong who really wanted to make sure everyone felt at home and made extra effort to come over and talk to you :) the whole family was so kind would definitely go back again if i am back in kanchanaburi!! ping pong is also doing amazing things with the locals in helping them learn english which is super cool :) my friend and i arrived super knackered so didn’t socialise straight away but it was really easy to do our own thing and not feel bad about it! the night market is literally a 30 second walk from the hostel and is full of yummy food and clothes!! they also have a small clothes donation box that you can take or leave anything you are wanting to get rid of along ur travels which is a nice touch. would recommend to anyone staying in the area!

I am a solo traveller visiting Kanchanaburi for the first time to experience the ANZAC Day service at Hellfire Pass. I decided to book a three-night stay at Siam Guesthouse. When I arrived, I knew I had made the best decision to stay here. The location was perfect to visit all the historical places, the bridge is 2km walk and if you are into nightlife then is 10 mins away. The room and the bathroom were clean, free coffee and tea were provided, and fruits were available upon arrival. If you liked a peaceful and quiet atmosphere, the place had all you needed, and it was right in the middle of all the necessities. The best part of the stay, as this is a family-run business, was Nung and his mother, who were very helpful and ensured that their guests were looked after. They can organise and advise if you want to arrange tours at reasonable prices. If you love animals, you will meet Harley, a beautiful one-year-old. The place had a lot of birds, and there were also fish. Vegan/Vegetarian Travellers—Nung suggested On's Thai Issan, which has reasonable, yummy food with great servings. It is a 10-minute walk from Siam Guesthouse.

I liked everything about my stay at this guesthouse. Accommodation was immaculately clean, the hosts were so friendly, approachable and committed to providing an amazing stay to their guests. The location was great, 5/10 minutes walk to Kanchanaburi train station and the Kanchanaburi night food market (which is perfect for food and just about anything else you need), I also felt incredibly safe walking back to the guesthouse from this market alone at nighttime. There is also a great restaurant just around the corner called Zab Zab and 7/11 just across the road. The walk to the bridge is a bit of a walk, very easy and flat but I rented a push bike from the accommodation for 50thb and it was perfect.

Amazing place for a short or long stay in Kanchanaburi. The guesthouse was decorated in a cool/fun way, with a pound, tables to eat or work and a chill area. Rooms are very spacious, clean, the ac worked perfectly and wifi was super fast! The owner is amazing, super helpful all the time. He helped us to rent a scooter the right amount of time that we needed and also with a lot of tips/advice because we where there during songkran. He make us the favor of keeping our bags until we took the bus so they didn't get wet. If we come back to Kanchanaburi we will stay again here.

The owner is so friendly and kind. Hé really helped me to get to the most beautiful places and see the real Thailand. If there is something he is always there to help and makes you feel like you at home. The place is super clean and the rooms are beautiful. Also the guest house is central to the hotspots of kanchanaburi. You will have a goodnight sleep and it is quite. If you staying in kanchanaburi i really recommand Siam guesthouse.

The room and the hotel itself were maintained very clean. They do ask you to leave your footwear outside the room. Good Value for money. Very quiet neighborhood. Did not have any insect or mosquito issues while sitting on the verandah upstairs. Did not have any issue finding the place also. The A/C was functioning well and not noisy. The rooms were very spacious. The combined bathroom and W/C were also spacious. Hot water was functional and no issues.

There are many, many reasons to love this resort - especially the amazing riverside location and the comfortable rooms. We were very happy that the staff went to great lengths to accommodate our dietary requests (vegetarian / gluten-free), though we were a little disappointed that the breakfast buffet was very meat-dominant, which even regular meat-eaters might find a bit heavy first thing in the morning. We stayed in a private onsen villa, and the room was charming (the view was incredible). Our one and only real negative was that in both the private onsen in the room and the main hot spring pool in the resort (next to the regular swimming pool), chlorine is used in the water. As hot spring enthusiasts (we have travelled to more than a thousand around the world), we have to say that this is exceptionally unusual, entirely unnecessary and also completely negates the beneficial effects of the minerals in the thermal water. Thermal water constantly flowing into (and out of) a pool/tub should have no artifical chemicals added, and none of the nearby local hot springs in the region that we visited were doing this...so I'd encourage the resort to stop using chlorine and allow guests to enjoy a totally natural thermal experience.

My son (9y) loves the tree top adventure , took the half course about 1hr , the swimming pool and onsen pool is near so I don’t need to worry about the pool water too cold. Also enjoyed fish feeding and lake sight seeing while having onsen. Dinner/breakfast restaurant is delicious with reasonable price.

If you are in the area then I’m guessing you are looking for the “back to nature” experience, and this hotel is probably as good as it gets. We booked a River View Onsen Villa lodge (in fact we even shuffled our agenda so that we could secure this room type), and it was nothing short of perfect. The hotel is about 45 mins from Kanchanaburi, near Hellfire Pass, and is pretty much isolated (you have to go down a private road for about a mile before reaching the hotel). The grounds are vast, with a real jungle feel (even having it’s own waterfall). Modern amenities are on-hand, and the restaurant is open all-day until about 21.00 (not expensive, either). But, the main USP is the room. You have your own hot-spring fed mini-pool on the terrace, which overlooks the River Kwai. This pool is seriously hot – they remotely top it up twice a day, and it is bath temperature (in fact you need to add cool water to make it comfortable). The area is covered, so you can enjoy it day & night, come rain or shine. The lodges are very private, surrounded by natural screening, and they have all the amenities required for a comfortable stay. The staff are very helpful and friendly, and the breakfast is comprehensive enough to set you up for the day. There is also a water-refill point to top up those water bottles. So, after a days’ exploring, kick-back, relax and enjoy !

Nicky, the host, went above and beyond expectations – very helpful and obliging, lovely demeanour, calm, relaxed, flexible (e.g. with late checkout) and reliable – Tea and coffee (and kettle etc.) available for communal use in the reception area (which is very pleasant to sit in, with fish and cats, and great brochures full of good-value activities!) – Washing machine onsite, and our room had a warm annexe with a drying rack – Easy tuktuk ride away from many main attractions; Nicky helped arrange the tuktuks for a reasonable price – Several sites of interest (e.g. the Bridge over the River Kwai, the JEATH War Museum, a WWII cemetery) are within walking distance – Overall I would highly recommend spending a few days in Kanchanaburi, my partner and I fell in love with the place, not least On's Thai-Issan Vegan Restaurant, five minutes' walk from Nicky's place – their banana blossom salad is the best salad I've ever had, it made me emotional. In general there is so much to see and do, and two cafés in particular – Mina's and Mulberry Mellow – are couched in spectacular settings.

Note picked us up and dropped us off at the railway station with no fee. He welcomed us from the start and was helpful with advice re getting around Kanchanaburi and our future travel arrangements. The guesthouse is located down a quaint little alley that makes you feel you are in the country whilst being centrally located. A minutes walk to places to eat and drink and a couple minutes further to the war cemetery and museum, or night market and railway station. The room was very comfortable and clean, with a fridge and Note made sure we had bottled water each day. No tea and coffee in the rooms but plenty of free coffee and tea can be made in the little patio area just outside the rooms under cover and surrounded by pots and greenery. Such a lovely, calm setting. Comfy chairs and a little table outside our room to sit and chill in the cool. We loved it here.

Very clean, quiet and simple family homestay guesthouse located a few minutes walk from the main strip & train station. Convenience stores and lots of food options within a 5 minute walk. Nic greeted us and was a great host & help us to arrange economical transportation to local area temples and to the bus station for a trip to Erawan falls on our own schedule. He also gave us great suggestions for food which we tried and are recommended! We really enjoyed our stay here & we’re glad we chose Thai Guesthouse. Note its only about a 10 minute walk from the Kanchanaburi train station but the most convenient walking route requires you to cross a 4 lane road with a shrubbery barrier - transport from train cost us 80baht to the guesthouse. Bonus there is a very sweet puppy and friendly cat on the premise!

Great location, close to everything such as food and transport, we walked everywhere. We caught the train back to Bangkok and it was just around the corner. Very close the night market with great food. The hosts were such lovely people, Nic was super helpful with transport information to Hell Fire Pass and gave us some great food options which were soooo delicious. We loved the gardens and nature it was quiet and they also had a very cute puppy Panda. We had booked for 2 nights but stayed for 3 and will definitely stay here again if we go back. The room was so clean and the beds were comfortable, the shower had good pressure and good hot water. The air-conditioner worked very well as it was very hot while we were there.

I do recommend Thai Guesthouse: it is located in a brand new building where everything is so nicely fresh. The room and the bathroom was super big, you can also use a well-equipped kitchen and relax in a cozy living-room. Feels like home. My bed was very big and comfortable! Air-conditionning worked very well. I do appreciate contact with the owner of the guesthouse: he his a very kind and extremely helpful person. Was ready to answer all of my questions, recommended me a professional massage studio. He helped me to organise a beautiful tour and a transportation to a bus station. It is also possible to rent here a bicycle.

This is a pretty cool place to stay. Sadly for us we chose to go in the rainy season which dampened our experience, but can imagine in season this is great place. "Tents" were large with a nice balcony. Inside beds were comfortable with a decent amount of space around. We had 2 tents, one with a bathroom that was half outside and one that was fully enclosed. Showers were good and an experience. As you'd expect from a tent there was a lot of outside noise from the jungle so don't expect to sleep much! But don't let it take away from the experience. The food for dinner was a buffet style and was ok, breakfast similar and ok. Drinks are slightly expensive but not extortionate. Sadly the pool was closed when we were there due to flooding and the worst rain for 20 years! However, they did arrange to take us to one of their sister resorts and use their pool which was a really cool infinity pool next to a lake with a tree top adventure (which we didn't do). a nice touch. We got the train to Namtok then got a taxi to the resort. The journey takes you passed the Hellfire pass entry. We made the mistake of checking into the hotel and then booking hintoks transfer back to hellfire pass which they charge 900 Bht return for which is pretty high for 4Km each way. I would suggest stopping en route to Hintok and doing Hellfire Pass (well worth a visit) and then continuing on.

We had an amazing stay here! The location is on a cliff overlooking the River Kwai with the dining restaurant and bar on cliff with panoramic views of the river. There is also a natural pool just where the clear water makes a little “journey” through the pool before it goes into the river. An amazing place to sit and watch the river pass! You can see the care and dedication in maintaining the beautiful camp grounds. There are touches that reminds us of the history of this place, including a small museum. Our tents are really nicely well maintained, cosy and perfectly charming and romantic. It has all the comforts we would ever need! Buffet dinner is served at an open dining area around a campfire. Food was also lovely and we ate more than we should have. Such a magical experience every night! Finally, a shoutout to all the staff who were friendly and attentive to our every need!

The facilities were exceptional and the natural stream pool is the most relaxing pool I have ever been.

Hintok River Camp has an outstanding design, camp layout/structure, and landscaping! The decor throughout is perfect to highlight the historical setting while also acknowledge that modern amenities have transformed this land into a space in which the natural beauty can be enjoyed and appreciated. The misty mountain views are breathtaking over the river. These views can best be seen from the Bar, the natural pools, and the pier on the river. However, the walking pathways through the organized tents also provide majestic landscaping and small coves of rest throughout the grounds. The natural pools were a highlight of our time here. The tent was a great glamping experience as well. We thought the food provided had a good variety and great taste! As cat lovers, we enjoyed some of the night time company in the common spaces. Due to the intensity of the rainy season, we were not able to do too much in the surrounding areas and were not able to take advantage of the mountain bikes or hiking trails. Regardless, we really enjoyed our stay and think that it would have been an even better stay had we chosen to come outside of the rainy season.

Very good service from the team. It was raining heavily when we arrived at the resort, someone was already waiting for us with umbrellas. Check in was fast. Natural spring pool was cooling and relaxing but the edge of pool was filled with dead leaves. Could have cleaned it off easily for guests. Dinner and breakfast was good. Quality of bed can be better.

We had such an amazing 2 night stay at the Jungle rafts. In such an idyllic location on the river kwai which was so picturesque. Was easy to find using a grab from Bangkok then the boat from the pier. We loved feeding the elephant early in the morning. Food provided for breakfast and dinner was delicious authentic thai food and there was plenty. We had a thai sim and there is signal and 5G but also wifi in the breakfast area if needed. We did a boat tour to the cave and Sai Yok waterfalls, which was great day - we joined with another couple to make this cheaper which worked out well! The staff are all friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed a thai massage, mon dancing and a hike to the local mon village. We had no neighbours during our stay so had the whole dock to ourselves with 2 sunbeds, hammock and a table. The only down side was the heat on the first night, it was around 38 degrees in the day and was extremely hot in the bungalows obviously no electricity for fans or AC but it we unbearable we could not sleep, much better on the 2nd night after some rain in the evening to cool down the bungalow - may be worth staying in the cooler months. Also the bungalows are very dark even during the day with just one small battery powered lamp and torch on keys for light, was very difficult to see but manageable. Overall such an amazing experience in Thailand, something a bit different than the usual touristy spots to relax and soak up the beautiful country!

Beautiful location and views- an excellent escape. The staff are fabulous and we loved watching the Mon dance performance and having a tour of the mon village. We loved how passionate the staff are about preserving their culture. The boat trips to and from the pier were beautiful, and the river swimming was so fun! In the morning, relaxing on the balcony watching the misty river and the monkeys in the trees across the water was a highlight. Feeding the village elephant in the morning was also a nice start to the day. It was easy to organise tours- we visited hellfire pass and Erawan falls. It was also easy to organise onwards transportation. In the evening the set menu dinner was delicious and plentiful, with the gas lamps and sounds of the river making for an atmospheric meal. While the rooms are quite dark and fairly basic, it really helps to encourage you to enjoy the day and sleep calmly in the evening. There was a wide variety of guests: families, couples, groups, solo travellers and of all ages. I would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful trip away.

River Kwai Jungle Rafts is absolutely magical. There are so many great things to say! You'll feel like you have instant community when you get to know the Mon staff or go have a drink at the bar with other visitors. Grab a life jacket and float from one end of the rafts to the other, letting the current carry you down the river. Feed the pet elephant in the morning! Watch the Mon dance performance at the little theater in the evening. Go to Erawan Waterfall during the day to feel like you are inside Avatar! Unplug without any electricity in your room (you can get it and WiFi in the common areas so it's no problem) We really really loved the staff. PAT was especially amazing to us. He inspired us as a wonderful, talented, kind human being and incredible dancer. We loved meeting you, Pat!

Mostly, staff are so polite and super friendly. I felt in love with an elephant names Wandee she came to the resort for her breakfast and bath in the afternoon, so so sweet 💞 The resort locate in a very stunning location nice and peaceful, the room are clean. I booked for two nights and I thought I couldn't live without electricity for that long but when I was there I didn't want to check out at all. (Electricity and the Internet are working well at the reception so you can still contact the outer world without any problem, also you can visit to Mon Village by walking it only takes you couple hours to see it all) I love Jungle Raft, so so much 100% would recommend it.

The River Kwai Jungle Rafts are one of the most unique experiences. The location in the jungle on the river is fantastic. The lack of electricity, wifi and phone reception provides an opportunity to unplug from the modern world. My kids loved putting on life jackets, jumping in the river and floating down the length of the hotel, the river runs surprisingly fast. I highly recommend SUP or canoeing on the river too. Dinner by lamp light is very romantic, and lying on the loungers looking at the stars and listening to the jungle noises is the perfect way to end the day. I highly recommend seeing the Mon traditional dancing and visiting the Mon village (5 minute walk from the Rafts.

Two nights in this hotel. Nice staff, comfortable and giant bed. Pool on the second floor, one two sun beds but the bean bags are more comfortable. Staff will bring clean pool towels if you ask at reception. Very good breakfast options. Good restaurant in front of the hotel. 25 min walk to the museum and war memorial cemetery.

Large room with balcony with distant mountain views. The whole hotel has a spacious feel. Good sized swimming pool. Pleasant sitting area around the pool. Old fashioned breakfast area with plentiful breakfasts. Helpful staff, as always in hotels in Thailand.

This is a clean, comfortable and relaxing place to stay. It has a real homely feel to it. The owners have added a lovely personal touch to it with plants and decoration around the sitting area. It's in a residential part of the town so you'll get a sense of Thai life as it is rather than in a non-descript hotel. It's also just 5 minutes walk from the bus terminal so it's very well located. The train station is a couple of kilometres away but you can get a tuk-tuk easily. There is a night market a couple of streets in front of the bus station where you can get all kinds of delicious food. The owners have lots of information about tours, can hire out bikes and will provide a good breakfast. I would stay there again without hesitation.

I honestly can’t say enough good things about my stay and the hosts. This ended up being my best experience in Thailand - which is funny, because it was also my most affordable one. From the very beginning, the staff were attentive and took care of every single request I had. They handled my laundry quickly and at a very fair price, and kept my room clean throughout my entire stay. Any time I had a question about the city, whether it was where to get clothing repaired, find a pedicure spa, or just where to eat, they always gave me great recommendations. I enjoyed the experience so much that I even extended my stay and stayed twice as long as I originally planned. I’ll absolutely come back if I’m ever in the area again!

Joy, the who runs the guesthouse, was incredible. She was so friendly and so eager to help us in every way - from giving us more soap bars to helping plan our day trips around Kanchanaburi. We were staying here at the same time as a man who had been coming to the guesthouse for 20+ years and now comes with his wife and daughter. They were a lovely family and really reflected the welcoming vibe of the guesthouse. Also, the location is perfect - 2 minutes from the bus station and so close to the night market but not too close that you hear the noise! We both really loved it so much we stayed an extra night! Can’t recommend Canaan Guesthouse enough!

Joy and her sister are so sweet! They took so good care of me! Everything was so great. I had a great time. Breakfast for the low price very good. Room was very good, fine airco also. If you want to see something than you can rent a bicycle or motorbike. Please be carefull when you get a link on Booking.com when they ask you to pay. That is scam! Joy warned me for that! You DONT need to pay before you are in the Canaan Guesthouse. If I am again in Kanchanaburi then I am sure that I go again to Canaan Guesthouse.

Joy and Fa are wonderful and hardworking people. They run a very clean and comfortable guesthouse. So close to the bus terminal and places to eat. Joy helped me with the paperwork for my visa extension at the Kanchanaburi immigration which is so so much easier to do here than in Bangkok. You can rent a bike and do your laundry here for great price. The river Kwai Bridge is close by and the Erawan National Park and waterfall is amazing. Thank you very much Canaan Guesthouse for everything. A wonderful time here.

the room is clean and a good size, comfortable bed and pillows. I like the training pool in particular, good for swim exercise. the pool is deep thus the water is cooling. most facilities are relatively old though including the pool. Staffs are very friendly and helpful.

The resort is a little paradise! We love every bit of it! The place is located right across the river, it is surrounded by nature, you can even see the mountains on the left and no buildings across on that side. You don’t hear the sound of cars or motorcycles. The gardens in the resort are amazing, there is detail in every corner! This is excellence! If you want to jog a bit in the resort, you can do it. One round is about 2 km. If you want to swim you can also do it, there is an extra swimming pool. If you want to chill, you can enjoy the round swimming pool surrounded by palm trees. It is possible to easily access the other side of the river by just crossing the famous bridge by foot, it just takes 5-7 minutes.

The Felix River Kwai Resort was a luxury stay for us. The resort is huge and was really peaceful when we visited. There was a really nice pool which was super refreshing, and a poolside bar where you could order food and drinks. Our room was huge and super comfortable, with a TV, terrace, a really comfortable bed and also came with room service! We could walk along the river and was only a short walk from the bridge where we could see the train going pass

Fantastic location. just a short walk to the bridge then over the bridge into town. Amazing hotel grounds with leisure swimming pool and a 25m exercise pool and a riverside walkway. Breakfast was very good with a large variety of choice. Rooms were large and comfortable. I would definitely visit this hotel again

This was one of my favourite properties to stay at in Thailand! The room was right on the river kwai and the views of the river and mountains were absolutely beautiful! The room was cosy and cute. The bed was super comfortable. The balcony in my room was my favourite! I spent most of my time out there reading and admiring the views. You can see the boats going passed and it was just a lovely stay. If I come back to Kanchanaburi I will definitely stay here again. Make sure to get the raft room if you stay the gentle movement of the river as the boats passed my room was so soothing!! Also the staff were nice and friendly on arrival and the views from the hotel restaurant were nice pretty too! The location was great too. Close to everything you need and the famous death railway!

A great place just by the river, with both regular rooms and rooms on the raft. I stayed first night in a regular room and the rest in a raft room on the river and I loved them both. The staff is great and very helpful. They have a beautiful restaurant on the terrace overlooking the river, with great food and beer for good prices. Walking distance to the "main street" and train station. And the staff will help you rent a motorbike, which is a great idea. Super happy with my stay at GN Guesthouse, in fact I stayed for an additional night. Would highly recommend.

Staff were so friendly here. Loved my floating room and enjoyed the balcony. Nice restaurant and bar area to relax in, had the best Tom Yum of my entire stay in Thailand here! Plenty of bars and restaurants close by although I found it a bit 'red light' at night, very much geared to men than a middle aged woman on her own 🤣 but the guesthouse restaurant and bar were so nice I was quite happy there in the evenings. Easy walking distance to the River Kwai Bridge and another area of bars and restaurants.

The room and bathroom were very clean and big enough. Internet connection was also very good. The staff was super nice and helpful, they will advise you on everything and give you tips about where to go. Apart from the guesthouse they run a restaurant with delicious food! The location is also good, 10 min away from the train station and the night market. You also get an amazing view of the river at sunset! We had great time there and I wish we could stay more.

So beautiful. Reception and welcome was great. They spoke very good English. This place is beautiful. Breakfast was very good as were both restaurants and swim up bar service. The rooms are very spacious with great patio and fan. I would give this place 5+ stars BUT the bed was Hard! Near by...Erawan Waterfall. Go all 7 levels. Wear a hiking sandle you can wear into water. its definitely hot, But you can do it. You don’t have to be in great shape but you do have to be determined.

Very nice stay at this lovely hotel. The hotel, gardens etc very nice. Our room was lovely and I very much enjoyed our stay. My only criticism would be the swim up poolside bar. It’s not very often staffed by bar staff who can serve drinks. There was someone around looking after towels and asking room numbers for those pool towels, but guests struggled to get served a poolside drink. I saw one guest who had been waiting for some considerable time go behind the bar to phone reception to ask for them to send bar staff so she could have a drink. However this was just a minor inconvenience really but I was aware of a few guests who were a little frustrated by this issue.

This is a nice hotel but way on the outskirts of town, so the first thing I’d say if you stay here is you need either a car or a motorbike. On first impressions this is a lovely, large hotel and it was extremely quiet despite the staff saying they were full. Reception informed us that it was a free mini bar, which was music to my ears, but soon discovered by mini bar they meant a Coke and an orange juice! The room was large and very pleasant to stay in. The breakfast was adequate. We were late arriving and thought that we could walk to a restaurant, however, after walking for a mile all we found was a 7 Eleven so returned back to the hotel and had to eat in the restaurant, which is a house boat on the river. The food was nice but was very expensive for Thailand. The swimming pool was nice although looked like it could do with a good clean and scrub around the walls and one of the pool lights was hanging in the water. The pool bar was pretty non existent and only open between 4-7pm, although you wouldn’t even notice it was staffed. After all said it is a pleasant, quiet hotel but transport definitely required. It’s a 10-15 min ride into town and an hour and 20 minutes by bike to Erawan water falls and also to Hellfire Pass but don’t try and do them on the same day.

I was a bit apprehensive about booking the Dheva after reading the reviews and infact email the hotel after so many comments about the state of the pool. (There are some negative travellers out I doubt they would ever be pleased) My father was a Prisoner of War and worked on the Railway and so I wanted to stay by the river away from the traffic of Kanchanaburi but still be able to access the sites of interest. The room we were given was ideal. We looked over the river and it was so peaceful. No mosquitos. The grounds were beautifully kept and the buildings were well maintained with charming marble walkways. The air conditioning and ceiling fan was quite. Comfortable beds, pillows plus armchairs. We took the doonas out of the sheets (they are just tooo heavy and hot for that climate). Plenty of room for 2 to layout luggage for pack and unpack. We stayed 3 nights 2 we ate in the restaurant and the other there was a private function and so had room service, which was as good as eating in the restaurant. The pool was massive clean and inviting. Our only two points of criticism was minor mildew in the shower (which would be a common problem in the heat and humidity that this area endures). The other was no iron and ironing board in the room but a call to housekeeping had it delivered to our room in no time. After travelling in Asia for a month this was definitely our best hotel.

The dinning area for dinner service down by the river was wonderful, the staff super attentive. Food was delicious for all meals. We enjoyed the massive spread for buffet breakfast and the helpful staff when planning day trips. The Spa was wonderful, I had a couple of really great massages, friendly staff and a clean comfortable environment. That pool though - if it wasn't so hot when we were there (April) I could have spent days hanging out there.

The pool was amazing, it is a saline-based pool so it's not bad for my skin and I could be there for hours. The spa was exceptional and very convenient given it is located just right inside the resort. The staffs are very nice and attentive. Would definitely go back with my couple.

Great river view and pool. Really nice room with comfortable beds and a clean bathroom. Spa available and great food. Not too crowded, the perfect location if you want to relax for a couple of days without moving too much around. This hotel is more to stay rather than to be used as a hub to move around the area. If you want to do that, better stay directly in Kanchanaburi. Bring a book and relax next to the pool.

Very enjoyable stay. Days relaxing by the large pool next to the peaceful river. Delicious Thai food for dinner, served either in the open sala or on the river terrace ... Live singer guitarist added to the atmosphere. Wide choice of Western or Thai food at breakfast. The room was clean and had everything needed. Shower room felt newly renovated. Just under one hours drive to Hell Fire Pass through beautiful countryside. 15 mins to The Bridge. Highly recommend.

We travel a lot and therefor visit a lot of hotels. But this one is by far the best ever. The location is heavenly, the river Kwai floats alongside the hotel. The rooms are very nice, if we need to make one comment it is that the beds were a little too hard for our liking. But the bonus is the lovely staff, the garden and the swimming pool. We would love to come back one day.

This property is quaint and beautiful. Request a pool side room, just a few steps from a refreshing pool. It is small but wasn’t busy during my stay. Chairs outside the room to sit and relax. The room was spotless and very large. Staff super helpful. Breakfast complete with the usual choices. A 10 minutes walk to the bridge and 15 minutes to the Railway museum and cemetery. Easy to walk to bars and restaurants.

I liked it here I got room 204 and it was a beautiful view from the window, it was bright green and have the pool in the background. Me and my family went into the pool and it was the best. We also got the breakfast and it was delicious they gave you a piece of paper to fill out of all the foods you can get. I enjoyed my stay thank you!

Very nice room over looking the garden and swimming pool. Pool although small was very clean and warm, very relaxing too. Lots of different places to eat nearby and not too far to walk to the bridge but would still recommend driving if have have car. A very friendly, family feel to this resort.

The place looks brand new and sparkling clean. Spotless! The rooms are very spacious with comfortable beds and good quality and clean bedding. We liked the layout and the unit it is exactly as depicted on booking.com. Both the TV & the fridge are nice and big. The establishment is well managed. The staff are professional. The housekeeping team is doing an excellent job as you won't find any stains or signs of dust anywhere, neither in the bathroom nor in the rest of the building. It was nice to see how shiny clean the mirrors were (realising how big the mirror in the bedroom actually is). The staff, every single one of them are well mannered and well trained in their specific roles. The location is conveniently close to the River Kwai bridge and street stalls surrounded by nice restaurants.

Jim and her daughter are such lovely people! Very very helpful and they provided me with lots of fruit. Even when I had to get up at 5 am to catch the bus to Chiang Mai, Jim was there to make me a cup of coffee.Need a taxi? Ask Jim! She will arrange it for you. The little house I stayed in was very clean. The bed is very firm, but I like it that way. Pool was clean and there are large size sunbeds available. Breakfast is toast with jam, eggs, sausage, ham and fruit. Also coffee (instant) and OJ is available. Jim guesthouse is about 3 km away from main busstation. A taxi will cost you 100 baht. The restaurants are in walking distance and so is the famous bridge (1.5 km). The River Kwai runs trough town. It is only a 2 mins walk from the guesthouse. Kanchanaburi is a cozy town with very friendly people. You can easily spend 3 or 4 days here. When you go to Erawan falls, go early when it is not so warm. Park opens at 8 am.

Perfect Riverside Retreat in Kanchanaburi. Our three-night stay at Jim Guesthouse was everything we hoped for. Situated on the peaceful side of the river, the guesthouse offers a serene escape from the bustle of Kanchanaburi while still an easy 10 minute walk into town. The standout feature is the refreshing pool, which was a welcome sight each afternoon. However, what truly makes this place special is the warm hospitality. Jim treats guests like family, creating a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Her thoughtful and caring approach made our stay so much better. She helped us with transportation and side excursions to Erawan, and restaurant recommendations too. The guesthouse's resident dog, Money, adds an extra touch of charm to the experience. Breakfast was consistently excellent, starting each day on a high note. Highly recommended for travelers looking for a personal experience in Kanchanaburi with the perfect balance of comfort and authentic Thai hospitality. Thank you.

Jim is a fantastic host! She went above and beyond, cooking delicious carry-out for me on the first day I arrived. She also gave me free mangoes and madarins every day, as well as water whenever I asked. She also helped me find a cheaper taxi option a few times. And gave a few pointers on how to get to major tourist attractions for less money. The room was extremely comfortable. The location is good, far enough away from all the happening places to be quiet at night. I didn't get to try the pool, but it looked nice! I would definitely recommend staying here for a few days to explore Kanchanaburi. I decided to stay an extra night.

Absolute perfection. Jim is an amazing person! Extremely helpful and generous. Always asks about your plans for the day and if you need any help, she's always there to ask. Every morning she asked us how we liked our eggs and she cooked them fresh for us. The pool is a nice touch and the room themselves were cozy and comfortable. There are a couple of extremely friendly cats that are adorable too. The location is good. Very short walk to the main strip of cafes and restaurants and 20ish min walk to River Kwai Bridge. Overall would 100% recommend.

This is a great place to stay in Kanchanaburi. Lovely place with peaceful garden and pool. It's close to everything and yet just outside of the noisy part so great for a good night's sleep. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Prepared to do anything to help and speaks good English.. Really enjoyed lots of tasty and fresh fruit at breakfast along with choice of eggs. Would thoroughly recommend this place. Really good value and everything was super clean. Also had great air conditioning.

Breakfast was decent - eggs cooked to order served with fruit. Service was friendly and helpful.

Our two night stay was very comfortable, the pillows are super soft, the breakfast was very generous and tasty. The pool was lovely open from 7.00 til 20.00 with comfortable sun loungers. The hotel has free bikes and helped us arrange transport to Bangkok. It offers a coffee shop and poolside snacks. Great location too!

Room was basic but good. Electrical outlet was built into the center of the headboard, which seemed like a fire risk. Pool was quiet, and rooms were generally accessible. Pool required three steps to use.

I stayed at this Hotel for one night while visiting the area in November 2016. Arriving at the hotel, the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The hotel appears to be fairly new, the rooms are clean and well maintained. Breakfast was quite reasonable for a 3-start hotel - you choose your dish from an a-la-carte menu and it's then prepared for you. The room I stayed in was located on the third floor above the swimming pool. There were no views to speak of. The room was very clean, and the bathroom was nice and comfortable. Wi-Fi coverage was good, and the air-conditioning worked well. If you want to visit the famous Bridge on the River Kwai, the hotel is located 2 minutes' walk away. This allowed me to walk to the bridge again early in the morning to see the morning train crossing it on the way to Bangkok. There's also a small market and lots of jewellery and souvenir shops next to the bridge, as well as a few floating restaurants and bars. Beware that they all close early. I went there for dinner at 8:30pm and they were already closed. I had to walk about 1km in the opposite direction towards the centre of town to find something to eat, as there is not much else in close proximity to the hotel If you arrive (or depart) by train, the nearest train station to the hotel is the Bridge On The River Kwai station (less than 5 minutes' walk), not Kanchanaburi station, which is around 25 minutes' walk away. Overall I enjoyed my stay there and would recommend it to others.

I have stayed here twice now and it would be my first choice for any future visit to Kanchanaburi. The hotel is spotlessly clean, with a good pool and spacious, comfortable rooms. The staff are superb - special mention to Blue and her Reception team - friendly, courteous and helpful. Breakfast is cooked to order and arrives fresh at the table along with complimentary fruit. In terms of location, it is a short walk from the River Kwai Bridge and JEATH museum but a couple of Km. outside the main city centre. However, local transport is cheap and easy. Can't fault it!

A beautiful little resort tucked away from the busy street which is filled with bars and restaurants. Only a 10 minute walk to the war cemetery and the Death Railway Museum. Fabulous little swimming pool overlooking the River Kwai. The staff were very helpful and the resort was clean, comfortable and quiet (I had the pool to myself every day that I was there!)

This property is amazing and very well maintained! The rooms are simple but spacious and comfortable. The pool area is beautifully constructed. There are areas to lounge and an infinity pool overlooking lotus flowers on the river. You would never know that you are staying on the main road as the property is set back from road.

Great, calm and beautiful place. The whole resort is beautifully set up, with plants and trees everywhere. The architecture is well done, too. With an amazing little pool and restaurant area at the riverside. Breakfast was offered to us for free, you could decide between a sausage, eggs, etc and a banana and pancake set. Plus there was toast and coffee. The staff is very nice, even though little english is spoken, but they try to make everything nice for you. We found it easy to reach coming from the train station. We just walked the 1km, but can get a cheap ride as well. On the way back we took a taxi to the bus station for 100 baht. Our room was nice and comfortable. Everything is very clean and well taken care of. You have everything you need right outside the resort on the street. Restaurants, scooter rental, 7-Eleven and other supermarkets and stores. All in walking distance and if you want to go further you can rent a scooter or ride a bike or one of the orange/red shared taxis to get around. We really liked Kanchanaburi and we really liked Ploy resort. Thank you very much!

Paradise. A lush resort situated on the banks of the River Kwae. The rooms were a reasonable size and had everything needed. The internal green outside space made being in the room (and shower room) fabulous. The resort is quiet and really underused. The staff are always busy cleaning and maintaining everything to a high standard. The pool is wonderful and the views stunning. Incredibly peaceful and a perfect base to visit The Erawan Falls, The Bridge, War Graves etc. We would definitely stay again. There is a vegetarian restaurant nearby (turn right as you leave the entrance) that serves wonderful food (no licence but you can byo) as well as another bar/restaurant (think it was called Ave) close by that also serves good vegetarian options. The resort has its own tuk tuk service. Breakfast is served overlooking the river. There is a choice of 3 options which were fine.

Middle in the “main street” with lots of choice of restaurants and bars, but still we didn’t hear any noise from our room. The staff are very kind, friendly and helpful. The room was tastefully decorated with a lovely bathroom. The high point from my trip was eating breakfast on the terrace overlooking the river with the sounds of the birds! There is a small infinity pool, with the most amazing view. The owner has a passion for gardening as everything is beautifully kept. We rented a scooter from the lady next door to the resort, and we loved touring around this exceptionally beautiful area. We found the people in Kanchanaburi to be very friendly, I just loved the place! I didn’t want to leave! Next time I will definately stay at Ploy Resort again!

We loved staying at the Latima boutique. Both the family room and shared dormitory were fun for our family of 4. The property is located on a main room and an easy walk to the war museum and bridge. The beds are very comfortable and there is information at the front desk about buses and tours. The pool was very clean and great to cool off.

We traveled with a group of 8 (5 adults and 3 kids) and took the shared dorm for 10 people. It was very comfortable and we all slept well. The pool is also very nice and has shade, which is important when it is as hot as it was when we were there. Breakfast was also excellent and we all enjoyed it.

Staff are soooooo lovely, very helpful and welcoming. Property is spotless. Great value for money as there’s a pool and breakfast included - tasties scrambled eggs! Can easily catch a bus from straight outside the property to Erawan falls. Walking distance to River Kwai bridge and museum. Got plenty of food places nearby. Great one round the back of the property.

The pool and the room are stunning. It is way above the price I think. The owner was kind, enthusiastic and helpful. The bathroom is really clean and it is located in a decent area near big villas so we can be far from the drunk community down town

You can't beat the location. My bungalow was literally over the river . So peaceful and beautiful. They ordered us up a boat and it docked right in front of my room and we had a great multi hour tour up and down the river. The way to really see Kanchanaburi is from the river. It's really beautiful. I highly recommend this place and boat riding on the river. Good neighborhood around as well, lots of good places to eat, drink ,shop, and get massages. I have stayed here twice now and will come again. The room is comfy and has a remodeled bathroom. It's a little log cabin. Staff is great and speak great English.

Very kind, heartfelt and hardworking staff. The owner was always ready to answer questions and help where needed. We lost something from our stroller at the station and contacted us after our stay to retrieve it when we already gave up our hopes. 🙏 We were sleeping in a family room away from the river (a lot safer, with two kids), but staying at bungalows next to the river looks amazing. As a small note, there are (friendly) dogs and cats at the guesthouse.

Follow the signs down the alley, and you'll come to this hidden gem on the river's edge. Quiet, calm and built over the reeds... go to sleep to the sound of crickets, frogs, and other chirping critters! Sam's is in the heart of the neighbourhood that caters to visitors, so you'll easily find restaurants, massages, laundry and moto rentals. Moon, the host, is lovely...relaxed, upbeat and helpful with maps, tips and spare sun-brellas!

The location is perfect, 15 - 20 minute walk from the railway station, about 25 minutes to walking street on a Saturday which is mad and a must do. About the same to the Bridge. Lovely staff, super quiet and peaceful, great home cooking restaurant just out and left for about 4 mins past the 7-11. Wash and Go on the corner for laundry and great grab food options if you just want to stay in.... perfect stay.

The area is beautiful and authentic. Recommend staying in one of the bungalows on the water, it’s a wonderful experience. The room was very clean and although basic, there was everything we needed, and the setting on the River is perfect. Very peaceful especially at night but the location is good near restaurants and bars. Cute dogs :D

Staff were amazing and very helpful! Especially reception staff. We booked a private taxi through them for an entire day of travels. When we had to check out early to catch the train to BKK, the staff offered to pack the breakfast for us and called the taxi as well. The hotel is located at a quiet yet accessible area, walking distance to River Kwai Bridge and many restaurants. Big room with nice rustic ambience. Beautiful scenery of jungle from the balcony as well. There’s also a rooftop pool and pool table which we enjoyed.

The view from this hotel is wonderful. We faced the bridge which was so amazing to see. The room was large as was the balcony. It had everything we needed including kettle, fridge, water provided etc. lots of storage if you are staying for a while. The reception staff were lovely and so welcoming. It’s located right next door to the JEATH museum which is sadly closing in May as they don’t have funding. It told us so much about the history of the bridge etc so is a bit of a travesty . The hotel is a 2 minute walk from the bridge and it’s located near loads of bars and restaurants. We loved our stay in kanchanaburi and would love to return one day.

Stay here before . So I know witch room to book . I have already book for next November . Nice view over looking the river from room and having breakfast. Safe parking just outside the hotel or across the road . Short walk to the bridge and Jeath (Death) Museum. 100 TB taxi ride to the bar zone or walk across the bridge for a outdoor Bar and Music.

Stayed here for a night for a little getaway from Bangkok it was 100% worth it. We stayed in a room with a river view which was gorgeous and I highly recommend! Super close to lots of nearby restaurants, markets and a 24 hour 7/11

This resort is amazing. It is located right on the lake and across from beautiful mountains/hills. It is a spectacular place to stay and relax; it is not a spectacular place in terms of things to do. My family and I enjoyed it because we came here to relax. We hiked in the Edawan National Forest, a 45 minute drive, but we mainly wanted to relax in the resort. We stayed in a room at the very top of the resort and it was perfect. We had a fantastic view and it was very clean. The room itself was great. Everything worked well and there was more than enough space for us to spread out. This resort is a great choice for anyone who wants to relax on their vacation. There are a few nature activities nearby, but this is mainly a rest spot. That being said, it is out in the middle of nowhere so bring snacks/stuff to do.

Vi havde næste stedet for os selv. Venlig betjening. Skønt at kunne hoppe direkte i søen fra værelset. Fredeligt, bortset fra en smule motortøj fra (ulovlige) jetmotorkøretøjer på søen. Rengøringen svigtede første dag, men de kom hurtigt ved henvendelse. Noget slidt flere steder, men ok rent. Haven ikke helt holdt. Vi havde et rigtigt godt ophold.

Since there were fewer guests at the time of my stay, the hotel supplemented made-to-order breakfasts over the buffet-style. This ensured the food was hot, fresh and tasty! The staff (many from Myanmar) were exceptional in their care, service, and hospitable attitude.

A great place to put your thoughts in order and take a break from the hustle and bustle. If you like a calm and measured holiday, you will like it. Take rooms on the first line to the bay and enjoy.

We had amazing time here. The host is very nice, helpful and she speaks English. She offered us free transfer from and to the bus station. She helped us to rent a motorbike. The room was clean, towels has been changed every day. We recommend this place to stay if you travelling to Kanchanaburi.

The breakfast buffet was quite nice but they only have this if there are many customers, otherwise a set breakfast menu. They offer complementary tea and coffee. I just loved it here! It’s quiet and peaceful, sometimes I sat by the deck area looking at the river and the bridge. Washing facilities next door and an excellent restaurant across the road, I went every night because their food was amazing!

The location was fantastic. Walking distance to river Kwai Bridge and a lot of restaurants and bars. When we wanted to go further to town there was always a tuk tuk near by for around 60 baht. The breakfast on the river was lovely and the pool was refreshing. Rooms cleaned daily and they had beer available at reception very cheap. Would come back and stay here again. Staff were always very pleasant.

Place is lovely and this end of Kanchanaburi is quieter, it has a nice pool but no bar for evening. However, there is a great restaurant over the road where we eat well every night for about 400 baht including Changs😀plus there is a 7 eleven just up the road. Also quicker to get off at Saphan Kwae Yai rather than main Kanchanaburi station as long as you can walk 300 yards

A very nice and cozy place in the beautiful city of Kanchanaburi, close to the bridge and with very helpful and friendly staff. Our Villa was nice and clean and the housekeepers did an excellent job. My wife, son and I stayed 3 nights and had a great time. The rooms are new with an awesome industrial look. The rooms are spotless. Brand new bed sheets, and towels. The shower and toilet are like brand new. The hotel is new so everything is brand new (the refrigerator, TV, etc.) The rooms are nice and quiet. The hotel is only a short 2-minute walk from the main road (3199). The Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in an a convenient location. During the day and night, it is always quiet. From the hotel you have a great view of the mountain on the other side of the river kwai. The bridge over river kwai is not far away. I highly recommend this place to both foreigners and Thai that are looking for a great comfortable place, at a great price, and near the action.

Perfect hideaway for a digital nomad. Cozy large room, bathtub, hot water, swimming pool, a balcony with a table and an electric socket (in addition to a lovely river view) - ideal place to stay for a few days and work. Nice wild garden, too.

Good location for Anzac Day at Hellfire Pass, 40 km. Many other tourist attractions near by. Good pool and kitchen/dining area.

After reading some reviews ( negative ones ) I got to the conclusion that some rooms are better then others , We had a great room , spacious , clean , lovely balcony overlooking the River ( regular double room ) , Quiet piece full, The staff where easygoing and friendly, We liked it so much we decided to stay a day longer then we planed , Would definitely stay again !

Very large hotel with huge landscaped,beautiful grounds boardering the River Kwai. Close to the famous bridge but should be noted that this hotel is on the opposite side of the River to the town of Kanchanaburi. Whilst this is ok in the daytime (you can walk over the railway bridge) at night a taxi would be required to go out into the town (around £5 each way) because the railway bridge is too dangerous to walk over in the dark. The hotel was pretty much deserted whilst we were there- I believe most of their business is made up of weddings and corporate events. This made the atmosphere a little soulless. However, saying all that, the 4 nights that my husband and I stayed here were pretty idyllic. If you can stretch to it try for a river suite - the views are to die for! Breakfast was fine, usual Thai hot dishes, salad,fruit, cereals etc Didn’t try the restaurant - We much prefer to go to local places over the River ( but as mentioned before the Taxi there and back was a pain) The drinks in the bar were so expensive so after 1 round we didn’t drink there again. However the mini bar drinks were pretty reasonable. The lagoon pool was lovely but sauna and gym pretty non existent. Pool towels were available free We did enjoy our time here but there are hotels on the other side of the river that we would try next time as we did feel a little isolated from the town.

My third stay at this resort and another great experience. The pool was looking a little jaded two years ago but it has been renovated since then and is now looking great. Staff couldn’t do enough for you and the buffet breakfast which was included on my room was excellent. There is also now a complimentary boat shuttle across to the town which has been added since my last visit. All in all a great experience and I shall stay here again when I return to Kanchanaburi.

Wonderful resort by the side of the River Kwai. I was in a Deluxe RiverView Room.Reception and staff very helpful and smiling. Excellent interior and great comfy beds.From Rooms and Balcony the River Kwai is a Stone throw distance. You can also see the Historic Bridge on the River Kwai from the Resort compound. Nice gardens and well decorated lobby and a great swimming pool.Food served is also delicious. Its a real quaint place for your business trip or a leisure holiday.

The resort is enormous, with beautifully manicured gardens, two pools and a nice bar and restaurant. Breakfast is great and staff are helpful and polite. However, we ate in the restaurant one night and ordered Western food. The pork chop I ordered was so tough the knife couldn't cut it. Maybe I should have known not to order Western food in Thailand. But this is a top quality resort, therefore if they cannot supply quality food, they should leave it off the menu.

Nice spacious room with lovely garden and swimming pool. We stayed 6 nights and enjoyed the hotel and its close proximity to the famous bridge over the River Kwai. Access to outside restaurants is over the railway bridge itself, which is fine during the day but is not recommended at night. At night a taxi is required to take you into Kanchanaburi, the alternative is to pay European prices in the Hotel's restaurant.

Location is perfect, just a short walk from the bridge, the cabins are beautiful and clean and the grounds are well managed, staff are very friendly and helpful,perfect place to explore the area.

Located just off the main street in town, the accommodation is central and there's enough food options around. Staff were friendly and despite the language barrier there were no issues.

It is right on the river which is gorgeous. Walking distance to everything as well! Cute and quiet getaway.

We initially booked for 4 nights but extended our stay and stayed 9 nights. Throughout our 9-day stay, we observed the daily cleaning routine, including gathering leaves and maintaining the garden. The property and bungalows are beautifully maintained, a clean pool with loungers and complimentary towels, and bicycle rentals. Nice cozy bungalows (air conditioning, hot water, great bed) we felt at home. Since we work remotely, this setting was ideal for us. The wifi was reliable throughout the property. Restaurant at the river: Great food and is open all day. Breakfast from a menu (all you can eat) and sometimes a buffet. Was very good! Elephants: You can observe 3 rescued elephants everyday in their natural environment. The elephants stroll by your bungalow every day. Incredible! What we appreciate is the policy that prohibits tourists from bathing with or riding the elephants, emphasizing a commitment to respecting the animals' normal life. Also other animals: sheep, chickens, and ducks. We enjoyed watching squirrels play near our bungalow everyday – amazing! The staff were exceptionally friendly, and the laundry service was amazing, providing fresh-smelling clothes within a few hours. They were helpful with taxi services, provided new towels, and offered daily cleaning and drinkable water. An ecological system: with vegetables sourced directly from the farm and fresh eggs from the chickens. 100% recommended!

Resort is located in a lovely location at the side of the river, very spacious grounds surrounded by nature..rooms was spacious and clean..all the staff was nice and friendly...my daughter enjoyed the animals...there's bike hire and a swimming pool which is a bonus...Nice food and a bar onside..we intend to stay here again next year.

Everything...its very laid back which we do really like about it.we enjoy the morning bicycle rides around the property...the breakfast is very good...we watch the elephant taking a bath...we dip in a pool for a couple of hours...a lovely stay...location is just far but worth to stay...

A wonderful place created by mindful people. The area is vast, and the foundation dedicated to rescuing elephants is truly remarkable. The breakfasts are hearty, and there’s a stunning view of the river. We highly recommend the Samboon Legacy Foundation operating in the area. The swimming pool is fantastic!

Pool was great even a hot tub area food is so good and staff amazing and to top it off elephants that we didn’t realise when we booked could have stayed long as so good
