The outside space was amazing, the pool was exceptionally clean, well stocked and fresh bread delivered daily and fabulous hosts - a lovely family.

We were greeted at the gate. We were given tour of facility and all questions answered before he left. Beautiful and exceptionally clean. Towels provided in each room. Two full size kitchens. Breakfast provided with fresh bread daily. Lot's of fruits. Plenty of bottled water. Everything we needed was available. When daily trip made to bring bread, individual confirmed we had everything we needed. Provider reachable by phone at all times.

The house is simply amazing. It looks exactly like on the pictures. With all the huge windows the house is super bright and charming. It’s so clean that we were not even sure if we‘re the first once that ever rented it. The area around is super quite and the house really has everything you need. The kitchen is very, very well equipped and every room has its own bathroom. We were 7 people and it was more then enough space. It’s very close to the beautiful towns of Obidos and Nazare and just a quick jump to the Lagune. Really hope we will be back for a longer time.

The location of the keys and how to find the apartment was well explained and very easy to find. We were updated with an extensive email before our stay and also the day after our arrival we received an email to check on us and whether we were happy or whether we needed anything. The apartment is nicely interior designed in a contemporary atmosphere, with comfortable beds, a nice big dining table and chairs to fit 6 persons, the kitchen is very complete and has all the things needed, dishwasher, washing machine, big fridge, freezer drawers and a hob. The two bathrooms are good and the entire apartment was very clean and has a nice big balcony with outdoor seating for 4 persons and great pool, the apartment and balcony overlooks the pool and also the beach, marina and ocean a but further down the hill.

Nice clean modern apartment. Our apartment had a beautiful view of the sea from the balcony. The beds were wonderful. The apartment was fully equipped and also had good internet. The large swimming pool where we could regularly swim a lap was certainly a plus. Check-in and check-out went very smoothly and pleasantly a message afterwards to check whether everything was okay made it a extra nice experience. We enjoyed the stay, which provided a real holiday feeling. Highly recommended.

Wish we could have enjoyed the pool and outdoors more but it was winter. Still, very different and the staff were all very kind and friendly. Alfonso particularly went out of his way to help us out a lot.

Superb place to stay (If slightly remote). A unique hotel. We have stayed in hotels around the world, but nothing quite like this. The room or chalet was quirky and had everything you required. A very self sufficient hotel with approachable staff, good food and a very different outlook on how a hotel should be run.

Staff was excellent. A very unique place for a quiet day or two, with Obidos 10 minutes away and beautiful beaches nearby. Dinner at the restaurant was fair, but the breakfast was excellent. I would definitely stay again!

A really interesting house full of character, and the pool and garden were just stunning. The hosts provided everything we needed for our stay and made us feel so welcome and comfortable.

It had everything you would need for a great family vacation, lots of space, excellent pool, great location and great owners. It is very rustic which may not be to everyone’s tastes but we loved the history and the traditional aspects especially being in a nice village with a great shop just around the corner which had fresh bread, cakes and great coffee every morning. The large espresso was just one €1. The location is great for some lovely beaches less than 20 mins away, many with free parking and quiet. The larger supermarkets are no more than ten mins away in Obidos which itself is lovely. We got great recommendations on places to visit and a lovely restaurant just outside Obidos from traditional Portuguese food. Would visit again.

Cecile Villa was an excellent choice for our holidays. The location is very pleasant and peaceful, perfect for families looking for rest and quality time together. The house offers great conditions, it is comfortable and well equipped, providing a real sense of well-being from the very first moment. With both the beach and the mountains nearby, it’s possible to enjoy relaxing days by the sea as well as nature walks, making the stay even more complete. A truly positive experience – we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cosy retreat to relax and enjoy family time.

A marvelous view of the countryside. Spacious house with a lot of comfy beds and with great sound/thermal insulation. The host is extremely friendly and helpful. The house is well equipped in terms of big and small appliances, as well as all the kitchen and laundry essentials, sound system, fireplace, bbq, etc It's a really peaceful area, with no close neighbors. It's perfect for a family getaway or a get-together with friends.

Top house with all facilities that you need to spend quality time with friends and family. Loved it and Will surely come black.

This is definitely a hotel I highly recommend if you need to stay in the Batalha area and surrounding neighbourhoods. The service was great. I was very impressed by Zara and Carina, who were at the reception desk. Their professionalism and, above all, their genuine welcoming nature left me with a great impression, and I do congratulate those two young ladies for going above and beyond to make sure I found the place I was looking for in Leiria and suggesting possible ways of getting there. The entire building is newly built, and so it is still in perfect using conditions. It has a simple yet practical design, and the room was well designed to accommodate a disabled person, which made mine and my mother's stay very comfortable indeed. I liked the variety of options at breakfast; the freshness and taste of the food was quite good as well. Not only will I book this hotel again if I need to return to Batalha in Portugal, but I highly recommend it to anyone travelling to that part of the country.

Value for money and great location. Too bad we were not able to try the spa but we will definitely try on our next trip.

Very nice hotel design, excellent parking, customer service was great 100 % of the time. Excellent breakfast. Nice pool. Access to the coast in walking distance. There is a lot of infrastructure, which we did not use.

The hotel is located in a large golf resort, right at the ocean (although without direct access to the beach). We liked the surrounding nature and the sights, including nice area for walks and availability of e-bikes to rent. Location was convenient for visiting Obidos and Peniche. Numerous tasty options for everybody at breakfasts, pool bar with great staff, tasty drinks and food. Room service was perfect and had great timing :) We attended a fado dinner with live music and wine tasting. Large outdoor pool with many sun chairs (some of them conveniently placed further away from the pool, for more relaxation). We had very good massages at the hotel spa.

The location of this hotel is excellent. It is beautiful and serene. Our room had an oceanside view, as advertised. Our room was exactly what we expected; it was large, and our beds were comfortable. I also appreciated the personalization I received once I arrived. People immediately called me by name, and once we entered the room and turned on the TV, it said "Hello, Ms First Name Last Name." I felt special. The outside pool area was beautiful. The indoor pool, jacuzzi, wet and hot saunas were lovely. The food at the different restaurants was good, too, especially the peri peri chicken at Contrata. Our room included breakfast, and it was exceptional each morning. They were helpful in organizing activities and making sure we had transportation to the Lisbon airport.

Our stay here was absolutely incredible. From our very first interaction with the wonderful Micaël to our warm farewell from the friendly reception staff, we felt truly at home and well cared for. We were incredibly fortunate to receive an upgrade to a stunning premium oceanfront room, and waking up to the sights and sounds of the Atlantic was nothing short of magical. Micaël, from guest relations, went above and beyond to help arrange a massage for my husband—a perfect treat after a long drive. While he enjoyed his massage, my two-year-old and I spent time in the indoor pool. Though a little busy, it still felt spacious and relaxing. Breakfasts were delicious, and the Carnaval-themed dinners were not only perfectly organised but also a delight. A special mention to the lovely lady who arranged the themed dinners—she thoughtfully provided plastic dishware and coloring activities for the children, a small but meaningful touch that made all the difference. Every moment of our stay was exceptional, and we can't wait to return!

I really need to start with the staff, they are the soul of the Hotel. Everyone was very friendly and ready to help. The room was very clean and comfortable with a view over the garden and the ocean. The Hotel offers a variety of menus to choose from 4 different in house restaurants which made a great ambience in the evening, almost as if you were on a ship. Breakfast was excellent, with very good quality and variety. Indoor Spa was perfect to relax close to 20h. Outdoor pool had great temperature. We thank the amazing staff for everything, a special thank you to Conceição from one of the restaurants for the great service provided.

The husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and wished we could have stayed longer! First of all, Hotel Magic's location is great - a short walk from the bus station, the post office, all kinds of stores and restaurants, the funicular (or path) up to El Sitio and the Fort - and the beautiful beach. Everyone on the staff was really nice, but I must give a special shout-out to Mariana at the front desk. She was so nice and friendly and helpful - we like to eat at super-local places, and Mariana gave us some great recommendations. (Loved loved loved O Braseiro's grilled chicken - we ordered takeout and enjoyed the feast at the table in our room.) We stayed in a room on the second floor of "The Gold Building," which had a different (secure) entrance than the main entrance. It was so quiet and clean and bright and spacious. (There's an elevator, if you're wondering.) The breakfast (included with our reservation) had ample and tasty offerings, and the staff was very accommodating, making sure I got enough ice to make my morning wake-up beverage, iced tea! Nazaré is a wonderful place to visit - we were there during the off-season and enjoyed walking, wandering, watching the huge waves - and the Hotel Magic is a perfect place to stay. We sincerely hope to return next year, and stay longer so we can explore more of the area.

Had an amazing experience at Hotel Magic. We arrived before our check in time and Rossana at reception helped us get settled. We were able to leave our luggage stored while we went for a walk while our room was being set up. When we came back Mariana had brought our luggage to our room. The room is modern with all the essentials needed for our stay. The breakfast buffet was perfect with lots of options available. Rossana and Mariana are so friendly and hospitable. Their restaurant recommendations were amazing- we love going to places where the locals eat. Thank you for everything. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Nazaré.

I thought I might want to be across from the beach but that town is too crazy busy and noisy. Hotel Magic is just a nice 2 minute walk to the main street along the beach. I had difficulty getting to it as some streets were blocked off but after I called for help they met me and unloaded my luggage and directed me to their secure parking garage; a must in that town! Room was nice but desk a bit small. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast was a really nice buffet. Staff was super. The Hotel is very modern. Overall a really nice experience. Didn't expect that. It was in a sense "Magical".

Location is excellent. Close to water and restaurants. Free parking is a plus but bring a small car. A staff person will go with you to find the garage and get parked It wasn’t far when we left and we rolled our suitcases to the garage and got out on our own. The breakfast buffet is exceptional. Everything you could imagine. The staff is as good as I’ve seen in any hotel or resort. So pleasant and efficient The public facilities and the room itself were spotless; a lot of care goes into maintenance A ten out of ten in all facets

Hotel Magic was a great place to stay in Nazare. It was close to the beach and close to some great restaurants. One was right across the street. The parking was pretty convenient as we took a couple day trips. The breakfast each morning was great. Most of all the hotel staff were so helpful. We mentioned to the front desk we were leaving early the day we were departing and he packed us sandwiches, snacks and drinks and left them in our room knowing we would be leaving before breakfast. It was so nice. I highly recommend.

A comfortable room with most things that you might need have been hought of. A sweet guest lounge with a good range of drinks and snacks on an honesty basis. Lovely pools, even the outside one in October! We even played pool - in the basement room next to the children's playroom. Nice breakfast with a good selection of fresh products I honestly can think of nothing that you should improve. Loved it!

We went on a family trip to this area to go to Fatima mainly but staying in Batalha was a lovely extra surprise. It is a lovely town. The Monastery is beautiful and Fatima was very close. This Hotel was wonderful. I would highly recommend it and would definitely stay there again. We had adjoining rooms as we have 3 children. It was spotless, staff were lovely and the breakfast was great and the homemade cakes were an added bonus! They catered for my husband's gluten free diet. Whilst the hotel does not do lunch or dinner, there are many good restuarants in Batalha within 5 minutes walk. We were leaving at 5.30am to catch an early flight and when staff found out they made us a takeaway breakfast which could have fed us all for a week! It was a much appreciated gesture.It should really be 5 stars. The pool would be great in warmer times...

It is the best mixture of a B&B and a small hotel. Perfect facilities, incredible view of the Monastery (some rooms only), rooms dressed with very good taste (by the hotel owner herself), breakfast with expresso coffee and homemade jams (again the owner...). Nice pool too. And the room cost was VERY good compared with the quality of the stay. I would say it is a 4 stars without the luxury, at the price of a 2 and a 1/2, which is just perfect for us. Walking distance from the monastery and the town (small, but very nice) I would recommend it not only for visiting the monastery (which is incredible) but also as center point to Tomar, Alcobanca and Obidos

This was smaller hotel but it was very clean. Room and bathroom were modern/updated. The pool was on the small side, but it was clean, refreshing and well maintained. The staff was friendly and spoke good English. There was a nice variety of products for sale that were made in Portugal in the lobby. Also snacks and wine were available. Hot breakfast buffet was available daily and it had a variety of tasty food items. I accidentally left my electric adapters at a previous hotel. They were kind enough to loan me 2 for my stay. Parking is a bit challenging; you might have to drive around a bit to find a space. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Everything we had was delicious. Batalha was one of our favorite places on our Portugal vacation.

Wow! A gem! Not your regular hotel, an art hotel! Starting with the paintings and stylish furniture in the hallways, to a wonderfully furnished suite, with tasteful wallpaper, modern bathroom- everything sparkling clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. One of my favorite hotels of hundreds I've stayed into. Our suite had a little balcony overseeing the Monastery- what a treat! Easy to find parking around hotel; charming places to get a desert, quick meal, a souvenir within steps from the hotel. Fatima is 25-30 minutes drive time. The breakfast was good, better than other hotel breakfasts in Portugal, but not as great as hotel breakfasts in other countries, like Spain or Italy. Let's call it a rich basic breakfast.

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel!!! Location = outstanding. Staff = extremely polite. Food = fresh and delicious. Room = spotless. We stayed in room 214, it didn’t have the view but we didn’t care much about it as we were out entire day. They let us in at 1pm vs 3pm as the room was already cleaned and didn’t charge additional fee. Five minutes after we entered the room, they brought us fresh cookies with a hand written note just to say “welcome”- very nice touch ;). We had lunch at the restaurant on the first floor overlooking the Mosteiro de Batalha. Service was very polite and the food was good as well. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Everything. The staff was the best part, super helpful with the check in logistics. We were going to a wedding nearby and we were super late and they didn’t hesitate to expedite things, super helpful and available. We forgot to mention that we had a 6 month old baby and they right away gave us a room with every condition and a small toy. The view is amazing to the beautiful mosteiro da batalha and the breakfast was phenomenal. They also offered a late check out due to our son napping during check out hours. Amazing experience

The location is just perfect. In front of the monastery. Easy access, good parking slot. The restaurant where breakfast is served is right in front of the monastery too. Just perfect. Then the staff… incredibly friendly, accessible, easy going. Both at the front desk and all other employees. Finally the room. Great bed, clean bathroom, good space and amenities. If i had more time in the region, id stay there for a couple of extra nights.

All of this is by design and if you like contemporary design, you will love the clean lines and completely uncluttered look. There is an indoor swimming pool that is quite dramatic using the original pillars of the convent. There is also a nice exercise room. There is a bountiful breakfast spread and a full service restaurant with adjacent lounge which serves light meals. I think it is too early to give an accurate review of the food and I was there at a time when the hotel was almost empty. The staff is young and eager.

Wonderful location just arrived the back side of the monastary, which is really the only reason to visit Alcobaça. We were not able to check in right away but the staff was kind and helpful. The facility has been renovated and is very modern, which is not usually my style, but it's done in a very tasteful manner. Perhaps the nicest part was the beautifully designed pool with perfect water temperature ... I could have spent an entire afternoon there. The rooms are spacious and offer most modern conveniences. The beds were large and comfortable. I felt the price was a bit high, but they really delivered with breakfast ... one of the best breakfast buffets I've had in a long while with tremendous variety and excellent quality offerings. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

We stayed at this hotel for eight nights in August. We loved almost everything, from the fact that it was located in one of the monastery's wings to the architect Souto Moura's vision. Our room was on the second floor, in a quiet area, and the bed was very comfortable (the hotel being pet-friendly, we felt the room next door would have a dog, but overall, we didn't feel uncomfortable). We felt immersed in the minimalist decor, but with all the refinement of the woodwork, Vista Alegre crockery, etc. The indoor pool and Turkish bath were also greatly appreciated. Breakfast, which was generally very pleasant, we enjoyed the fresh juices and particularly the space and the lounge (library). The staff was also very friendly. Definitely an experience worth repeating.

You are staying in the actual historic cells of the alcobaca monastery. Rooms have been renovated and modernized to stay in simple luxury. The hallways were magnificent with tiny doors to access your room, which made you feel like you went back in history. The pool was amazing with the cloister pillars in the middle. So peaceful! Breakfast was served in the jaw dropping ballroom. As you walk the halls you can see parts of the monestary not on the public tour . Fantastic!

This is a careful intervention on a historic convent. It is extremely well done. The breakfast, conference and dining areas are historic halls, and the indoors swimming pool is drop dead gorgeous. The breakfast is exceptional. The room we stayed in (couple with two toddlers) was huge, and the room faced the exceptionally quiet and quite scenic inner courtyard. It was a 10/10 for us.

This property offers excellent value for money. The staff were totally engaged and even the language barrier was pushed out of the way to make sure my stay was as please t as possible. In the middle of nowhere we found an interesting place. Architecture works well, decoration very appeling, nice people (staff), good rooms, good pool. But ... We arrive to the hotel at 2PM hoping to go to the pool and enjoy a snack and the sun, sadly and bad surprise it was not possible to eat ANYTHING at the hotel, and in the front desk they say " At Alcobaça 6km away" ??? What, I am in a four star hotel, I pay 180€ for the room and I can't eat ...!!!!! So what can I say It was good and really bad at the same time

This hotel is situated in a rural area and is a short drive from the beach and promenade of Nazares. The location is secluded and there are no restaurants nearby except for the one located in the hotel. Overall, this was one of our top hotels during our 15 day Portugal trip. The service was excellent and the amenities included was great but the spa wellness area was dark and could use some decor as the main area. The one down size is the hot tub, it could use some cleaning. The outdoor pool was nice but was not heated, but the view made up for it. The room is clean, bed is comfortable and the bedsheets are clean and very soft. We had dinner at the restaurant and the service and food was good. Breakfast was beautifully set up with great selections. We would stay at this hotel again and would highly recommend it for its cleanliness and the friendly service.

I can't recommend this Hotel enough, its a bit off the beaten track, but that in itself was a bonus if you just want complete tranquility. Apart from the odd dog barking, it was piece and quiet. The hotel was spotless and the Food was exceptional. Views around the Hotel just emphasized the piece and quiet. It was hot while I was there, but the outdoor pool was perfect to refresh in and relax next too. All the staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was cleaned to an immaculate standard daily. The rooms themselves had everything you needed, and were modern and sleek, but not the usual run of the mill. Every room had its own semi private balcony or seating area. The drive to the coast was only 10 minutes, and their were surrounding towns and villages within 30 minutes of the Hotel. When I go back to Portugal, I will be staying here again.

I loved everything. This time was our second time in Monte Real Termas & Spa, and not only that hotel is huge and beautiful, it really fits our needs. Rooms are cozy and comfortable, breakfast is very good, the staff is amazing. The hotel has a restaurant and a bar, and we loved the food and the option to have everything there in case we didn't want to leave the hotel. There is a mini pool for children, really close to the outdoor bar, which works perfectly for me. The hotel offers pool towels that you can change every day, There is a room with toys for children, my daughter and my nephew loved it. The spa is not expensive at all for what it is, you get 2h of turkish bath, sauna, pool , jacuzzi and aromatic showers for only 18 euros. Not sure if it always the case, but I was alone in spa during the entire time for 2 hours, just relaxing and charging my batteries. There are plenty other amenities that we haven't got to experience yet, free bicycles, mini golf, termas, etc. However, we will be back for sure and try it out.

Absolutely loved the stay at the Monte Real hotel! Its the best family friendly hotel we’ve stayed at so far! They have an animal farm, baby play room, table tennis, playstation room, inflatable castle, activities for kids, besides the regular swimming pool and spa. The staff is very friendly and flexible! (we asked to checkout later since our toddler only starts his nap at 12pm) Great overall experience! Would love to come back sometime in the future!

I loved the clean white monogrammed sheets and the pillows and a huge bed especially for Portgual. The toilets robes and slippers were excellent and they had the champagne glasses in the room as requested. The Family Suite room 305 was absolutely perfect. Beautiful windows. Lots of space. Set up with the pullout sofa and cot all ready for us. The food was great in the dining room we had dinner for 4. The breakfast was amazing .. most of the hot items were too cold but lots of great selections and options. The pool and lounge chairs were excellent.

O hotel fica um pouco afastado da rua principal, então não é imediatamente visível. We highly recommend the Hotel Neptuno. The room was great, as was the complex with a pool and many leisure activities. The breakfast was also good. Highly recommended for families with children, as there is also a large playground. Personally, we found the pool too busy, so we didn't use it. The hotel is located a bit off the main road, so it's not immediately visible.

We just stayed one night but would have stayed longer if it would have been possible. For the price in Peniche you get a good location (not directly in Peniche but still close to the beach), a big and beautiful hotel complex, a pool + whirlpool and a pool table. Staff was very helpful! Rooms are very bright and big, as well as a very spacious bathroom.

Everything! The pool and pool bar were fantastic! The room was well equipped, comfortable and modern. Breakfast was spectacular! The perfect overnight stop that made us wish we had stayed longer.

I liked the quietness of the location, away from busy roads. I enjoyed the pool and the free leisure activities, like aquaerobics, table tennis, pool table, card games and fabulous singer entertainer.

A two star hotel that should really rate more! The location is, at first glance, a little disconcerting being between turnip fields and industrial properties on the outskirts of town but don't let this put you off. The hotel and facilities are contained within tree lined walls and you don't really notice the surroundings. We arrived on ebikes and we're allowed to park and charge them overnight in the hotel's secure garage at no extra cost. Staff were really friendly and helpful at all times. Rooms were modern, large and clean with big beds, bath and shower and air con. There's also a nice comfortable area downstairs with sofas, TV and pool table where you can relax and have a drink from the bar. Breakfast was very good, cheap and plentiful. There are some good restaurants 10 minutes walk down the road (the hotel doesn't do evening meals).

Even though it was high season, we always got chairs close to every pool and parking for example. The weather wasn’t great - around 22 degrees - but the heated pools made up for it, so it never interfered with the quality of our stay. The. Deluxe bungalow was well equipped and comfortable. Great beds!! The price selects the clients…

Territory is perfectly equipped for kids- playground, swimming pools- top! We were not so lucky with the weather and were especially happy to have a heated swimming pool!

The location of our tent was perfect, the weather was not that good but the pools were excellent. It was peaceful and relaxing with a very good buffet breakfast. Lots of activities for children.

We had a wonderful stay. Staff and facilities great, close to town and our bungalow was private and a reasonable size. Kids kept busy by the various pools and play areas.

The pool was wonderful! It was so warm and our kids did not stop smiling the whole time. It's a great place. :) The cabins were so comfortable too!

We spent three nights at this hotel while in Portugal for business and leisure. Leiria was the business part of our trip. The hotel was very corporate … so for me a little soulless … I prefer more local style accommodation. But it was very clean, the rooms spacious and comfortable. The location was quite good … walking distance to the Castle and city centre. But it was kind of nowhere with nothing much around. I would have loved a pool as it was hot when we were there, but this hotel is very much a business style hotel and was booked by our hosts. The included buffet breakfast was excellent with a large variety to choose from. Recommended if you are on business or like good chain style hotels.

While visiting from Australia, we visited the city of Leiria. This gave us opportunity to explore the coastal towns on the Atlantic coast. Staying at TRYP was the best decision we made in Portugal. A fabulously modern hotel, very close to shops and restaurants with a great breakfast included in the tariff. However, our stay was really enhanced by the lovely reception staff..they provided lots of information on places to see, routes to take, ice ( swollen ankles) and generally assisted us in our every request. Our heart warm thanks to Joao, Micaela and Patricia who all deserve Employee of the Month awards! Also the lovely ladies in the breakfast room: great work! Great place to stay especially room 221!

Delightful stay! The bed was very comfortable, the room was well insulated from any noise, and breakfast was quite ample and delicious. The only tiny down note was that the room was rather cold and there did not seem to be a way to adjust the temperature. Plenty of bed coverings luckily. But above all was the incredibly knowledgeable, competent and delightfully personable staff. Every person I dealt with at the desk was a wonderful representative of the hotel and of Portugal. Everyone was very kind and had everything set up on our arrival - some of the kindest staff members we've met. The room was very spacious and comfortable. They left a gift for our kids (a booklet with drawings for them to colour and colouring pencils). The amenities were great and the hygiene products were amazing. The breakfast was great, with a lot of variety (milks, vegetable drinks, coffee, chocolate, juices, different kinds of yoghurt, fruit, cakes, breads, cheeses and ham, cereal, etc, etc). If we back to Leiria, this is where we're staying.

This hotel is in the perfect location. From our little balcony we could see one of the main squares as well as the ocean! The beach is huge and beautiful. Our room was super clean and not large but had everything needed. We even had a kettle and tea/coffee available. The breakfast was fantastic in the beautiful restaurant which has large windows overlooking the ocean (across the road). The desk staff were super helpful and pleasant. You are in the heart of the tourist part of town so close to restaurants, shops and the funicular that takes you up to the upper part of the town. We happened to be there during Carnival so it was pretty raucous - but we enjoyed sitting on our balcony of the third floor watching the silly festivities. The accessibility to the beach was excellent and the views were incredible.

We had an amazing one-night stay at this hotel. The location is superb, and the staff truly made our experience unforgettable. We were warmly welcomed by Iris, who assisted us with both check-in and check-out. Her positive attitude, genuine smile, and attention to detail made us feel right at home. She truly anticipated our needs and delivered 5-star service from start to finish. Breakfast was excellent, with a great variety and fresh, high-quality options. A special highlight was the selection of fresh fruits, muesli, and yoghurts – a big plus for health-conscious guests. We also enjoyed a wonderful lunch at the hotel restaurant. The food was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Huge thanks to the entire culinary team for their work and to Iris again for helping make our stay so special. What a gem by the beach! We stayed at this lovely hotel just a few steps from the ocean – literally, you can walk to the beach and even enjoy the view from the balcony. Waking up to the sea breeze? Yes, please! Only a 3-minute stroll takes you to the cable car, which brings you up to the famous viewpoint where the big waves crash – it’s a must-see! The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. We arrived before check-in time (oops!), but they still let us check in early – such a nice surprise! Oh, and the local food nearby? Delicious. You won’t go hungry here, that’s for sure. We’re already planning our return. Highly recommended for a chill beach escape with a little adventure on the side!

Had a wonderful 2 night stay here! Yes, the rooms are small, but the view from the balcony makes up for it and you can't beat the location. One of the nights of our stay was during a big futbol match ("The Superbowl of Portugal" as it was described to us) and the street noise was through the roof with excitement! We were a bit worried since our room was just above the street but the windows must be sound proofed or something because we didn't hear a peep once we closed them. Staff was super friendly and helpful, and their restaurant had really good food, both breakfast (free) and dinner (reasonably priced).

Overall enjoyable 8 nights. Good location for the beach & surfing albeit 20 min walk to Peniche restaurants. Helpful & friendly staff with a shout out to Melissa who was extremely helpful with advice on things to do (other than surfing). Spacious, clean & comfy room & beds. Good breakfast though needs an extra coffee machine in busy times. Some areas need some TLC with some broken equipment in the gym & the tennis court needs resurfacing. The pools were nice although the outside one has lots of small of mosaic tiles missing one the base. Very relaxed and extremely clean hotel.

As before - enjoyed our stay. Good breakfast, clean rooms, nice indoor pool, bar is good and prices are reasonable, strong wi-fi signal - was able to work remotely during three days of stay. Playroom for kids is a plus.

Travelled with my family (2 children 5 and 8) and we stayed at this hotel for 1 night as we drove from Lisbon to Porto. And let me tell you I wish we could have stayed longer. The hotel is located outside of the city of Lieria, in a small village. Our room was so comfy and the best part was that they had a separate room for the kids - it had slopped ceilings and the kids felt like they were in their own place. The terrace was amazing and we enjoyed it in the evening. Our kids enjoyed the pool as well. It is clean and private. We were the only people using the pool. There is also a small playground across the street from the hotel. It is better suited for smaller kids/toddlers. The restaurant at the hotel was great and we had a delicious meal there. We have a Celiac in the family and they easily accommodated for gluten free. The included breakfast was small, but delicious. Everyone was able to find something to eat.

Casa da Nora is a quaint boutique Hotel only a few km from Leiria. The property itself is sort of magical being located in an old mill right next to the Lis River. The grounds are beautiful, lots of greenery landscape, beautiful pool area, with a lot of old rustic accents. The restaurant is a must try with amazing local traditional dishes, and a great selection of wines. Must eat al fresco to enjoy the outdoor patio! We stayed in a Queen room on the second floor, it had a balcony with views to the River! Magical! The room was very clean, cool with AC, the bathroom was spacious, and it was very peaceful! We will be staying again for sure! Being a local born and raised in Leiria, I can say this is probably the nicest hotel in town, however it is a few minutes to drive to the center of town, but so worth it! The staff was also very friendly and attentive and they even allowed us to check in a bit earlier! Absolutely right commend!

We had a fantastic time during our 3 night stay. The property is beautiful with different areas to relax and enjoy. Our room was small yet charming, complete with wooden floors and a private balcony overlooking the river. The staff were warm and treated us like family, ready to help with anything we needed. Casa da Nora is a hotel, but we truly felt like we were staying at a family home. Many a moment was spent cuddling the resident cat, who happily greets guests and sunbathes alongside those enjoying the pool. In addition to the homey touches, the restaurant on the ground floor is excellent. A variety of Portuguese dishes are available. I am not exaggerating when I say I had one of the best desserts of my life. Make sure to reserve a table as the restaurant is popular. We will be recommending Casa da Nora to anyone who finds themselves in the area. A charming hotel with a true taste of home.

Set in a restored water mill (Nora) about 5Km South of Leiria, the "HOTEL CASA DA NORA" offer almost everything. A very good accomodation, a nice outdoor swiming pool, a tennis court, excellent food and wines, free car park, a small but nice garden and a very friendly and professional staff. This hotel is tucked away in a small traditional Portuguese village. The buildings are beautifully restored with modern but sensitive additions. Original features such as shutters add character. The rooms are comfortable, air conditioned and kept beautifully clean. You can come and go as you please - even in the early hours of the morning. The pool is clean and secluded - we mostly had it to ourselves. The views of the river beside the hotel are beautiful and relaxing. Parking is easy. It’s not extravagant, but has everything you need. Staff make you feel very welcome. The whole experience here was authentic and full of character.

The apartment consists of two separate units — one is a full apartment with a kitchen, spacious shower, and living room, and the other is a bedroom with its own kitchen and bathroom. Each room has a balcony, and there’s complete privacy between them. The appartments are very spacious, also the bathrooms. Everything is very clean and well equipped. We also cooked dinner in the appartment and it was great! The sea view is absolutely stunning, and all the hotel’s facilities are just perfect — the pool, yoga classes, padel courts, and the open green spaces that make you feel so calm. Breakfast was excellent, varied, and served overlooking the beautiful golf course. The hotel’s location is great, and we truly enjoyed every moment. Amazing value for money — highly recommended The children wanted to stay there for the whole trip!

Just returned from a week at Royal Obidos, from the moment we checked in, the customer service and attention from all the staff was second to none. Lovely room overlooking the golf course and beyond. Beautifully .presented food at breakfast and evening meal, nothing was to much trouble and if you didn't like something, staff were more than happy to offer alternatives, big thank you to Beatrice in the restaurant for all her advice, I know I was a bit fussy being dairy free! Spa are was great, along with the outdoor pools. Would definatley go and stay here again.

We loved our stay. It was very rainy weather and it was so nice having a central location to come and go from. We had just come from a bad experience at an AirBNB and we were overjoyed when we walked into the hotel. The staff was wonderful and the restaurant was very good. I even enjoyed strolling the mall right next door when the rain was to much to go outside - not something I normally do when in vacay to Europe but I enjoyed it and bought some lovely clothes. We loved our stay.

The hotel is across the street from the park and just a few blocks from the old part of the city with plenty of restaurants, cafes, and shops. The breakfast buffet was superb. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was clean and modern and even had a heated mirror to keep it from getting fogged up. One thing took us a minute to figure out, though - you have to use one of the room key cards in small device on the wall to make the power come on.

The breakfast buffet was large and varied. Vegetarian and vegan selections also. But the best thing about this hotel is the superfriendly and helpful staff. We were there to take care of someone, not a vacation. They accommodated everything we needed and went beyond extraordinary measure to help. Next to a small mall with shops and grocery store.

Breakfast was OUTSTANDING. Location across from a beautiful large park and central to other towns we visited was perfect. We weren't sure about the parking at first since you have to park in a shopping mall underground parking lot, but it ended up being super easy process and just behind the hotel.

Great value. The suite was spacious for 3 people. Parking was very easy at the mall next door. Central location- near the parkway and having the mall nearby was very convenient (there’s a food court and grocery store.) I would stay there again.

New, clean building. There was no staff but they were very responsive when I messaged through booking. They provided clear instructions and it was very easy to get into my room. The rooms were super clean! The shower was so nice with the rainfall showerhead. It was a perfect stay, even for only 1 night. Also the wifi was very strong!

New modernized building. Brand new room, with all basics toiletries. All facilities re, coffee shops, mini markets within walking distance. If you want to eat in your room, down the hill is a great small Churrascaria that sell chicken, pork, beef and side dishes by the kilo and inexpensive.

It's near the Camino of Santiago. The room was clean. It smelled nice. It has fridge, water heater. I was wery satisfied with this accomodation. The lady at the breakfast was super nice, ther were strawberrys for breakfast, lots of other fruits. I woul do it again.

We arrived when there was a massive power cut and no internet. The staff member (there was only 1 there) was so sweet and kind. She was on breakfast duty the following day the breakfast was great.

Its a bit out of the main drag but lovely and quiet and fabulous bar terrace. The welcome was so warm and genuine and nothing was too much trouble for the staff during our stay . Bar and drinks were so good and the wait was less than 10 seconds to be served! Lovely room terrace and very clean and comfortable room. Great breakfast and excellent restaurant recommendation just down the road. Highly recommended .

The staff at this property are lovely. The service was fast, friendly, attentive and overall wonderful. The beds are incredibly comfortable and the room was the perfect temperature. I would definitely come again and recommend it to everyone. The beach is an easy walk with Western Union, a lil market and a restaurant around the corner. This was simply the perfect location.

Beautiful, clean and friendly hotel in an excellent location. 2 minutes from a mini-market, 10 minutes easy walk from the beach and 15 minutes more strenuous walk to the clifftop path. The breakfast was superb, especially the home-made cakes. The shower was strong, which isn't as common as I'd like.

Fantastic Stay! I had an amazing experience at Star Inn Peniche. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The room was clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The breakfast at the hotel restaurant was delicious, and fruits were the best i eaten. There were plenty of options to choose from. I also loved the facilities, especially the indoor pool. The location was perfect, close to the beach for morning walks (unfortunately I am not a surfer but if you are then this location would be perfect for You) Overall, everything about my stay exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend this hotel and can’t wait to visit again! Only one small thing which might be easy fix that i want to point out is that my flight back was very early in the morning way before breakfast bar was open and there was no where to grab quick cup of coffee (I do love my coffee in the morning). Maybe coffee machine in the lobby would be an idea?

The best for us is the sports centre just at the basement, they have all equipment you could wish to borrow in a beach vacation and they are really good and professional staff. This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. It’s clean, the rooms are very spacious, the breakfast is great and the staff are friendly. Go to back of the breakfast area for the best coffee machine. There is a wonderful beach and cafe across the road. The pool is large and parking is free. We recommend staying at the Hotel Star Inn.

We had a great stay at Star Inn Peniche! The location is excellent, especially if you’re visiting for surfing—there’s a surf school right at the hotel, which was super convenient. The breakfast was tasty with a good variety, and we especially loved the outdoor pool. Overall, a very nice hotel and a great experience. Would definitely recommend!

I arrived before check-in time but was given a room key without any fuss. Room was of a good standard with fridge and safe and overlooked the beach. I used the fitness room which was basic but sufficient, there were also two pools which I didn’t use. Breakfast was included and was very good value.

We have stayed in Sao Martinho a number of times in rented apartments with our dog, this was a visit without our pet. It was just over 12 months since we were here and on arrival we realised how much we had missed the place. The hotel was convenient to our old haunts and an ideal base for 3 nights. We had passed the hotel many times but often wondered what it would be like to stay, this visit did not disappoint. We had a good deal on the booking and were pleased that when we checked in the price was a little lower than we had expected. Our room was ideal, bed comfortable, and although we did not have a balcony we didn’t have a problem with the garden view. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice, particularly liked the local cheese and home make cake and custard tarts. On our last night we used the bar and had a very pleasant red wine. Staff were friendly and helpful and we would definitely stay again. We love Sao Martinho, such friendly people.

We had an absolutely fabulous time at Concha. Every single Staff member was fantastic! Kind, polite, helpful and would do anything to ensure our stay was perfect. They succeeded and exceeded our expectations. Our room was great - not huge but had everything you would need. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The best part, the view from our balcony. In my opinion, the best views will come from rooms 303 (our room) and 302 (a bit better view). Check in is not until 3:30pm so be prepared for that. The hotel is located 1 street off the beautiful bay. You truly couldn’t ask for a better location. Directly across the street is a cafe called “Samar.” We are their 3 times and had the same dishes each time - they were incredible! (Sea Bass and the Shrimp Risotto). Their Staff is also wonderful. I must also share that the breakfast at Concha was FABULOUS! Scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh croissants, pastel de nata tarts, fresh bread, fresh fruit, freshly squeezed orange juice, etc etc. Thank you Concha - we will be back!!

We up graded to a junior suite as we were stopping a week and thought the extra room and fridge facilities were worth it. The breakfasts were of a good standard with plenty of variety. The staff were very helpful at all times and the room was kept clean with towels changed daily. The hotel is close to all restaurants and the beach I would certainly recommend this hotel to any one who wishes to visit SAN martinho de Porto.

Ein super Team, sehr freundlich und immer hilfsbereit. Hotel sowie Zimmer sehr sauber und gepflegt. Balkon nach Westen, Meerblick im 3. Stock, bequeme Bestuhlung, um abends lange zu sitzen und die Abendsonne zu genießen. Ein Frühstück, besser geht's nicht. Alles da, was der Bauch begehrt.. Und wenn nicht, dann werden auch spezielle Wünsche gerne erfüllt. Lage ist sehr zentral, ein paar Schritte zum Strand, zum Bummeln an der Promenade, zum Einkauf, zu den diversen Restaurants oder Cafés.

Follow Hotel Sao Jorge ( not Hotel S Jorge) on Sat Nav. Hotel on main road so you can’t miss it. LIDL is next door, together with small shopping mall, Burger King next to LIDL. We had a small dog with us so didn’t walk too much further due to being on a main road, however as we drove out of the Hotel, there were plenty more restaurants and shops further along the main road within walking distance. We were met by the owner in the reception area who guided us to our chalet. The gardens are perfectly kept, lovely grassed areas with a large swimming pool ( smaller pool for children) and lots of sun loungers either in the gardens or on the patio area. Our dog was more than happy to lie in the shade with us. Parking directly outside the chalet with small table and chairs. Chalet was small but adequate, twin beds, basic furniture, wall mounted TV, large powerful shower, very basic toiletries (hand wash and shower gel), hairdryer, A/C. No mini fridge or tea/coffee facilities. Very good Wifi in all areas, small restaurant by the pool but only open 7am-10am for B/F ( we didn’t visit). We were surprised how nice this place was and would recommend for a stop over or couple of nights.

The pool!!! On the hot summer days, it is a blessing to jump into a large pool.

Everything - staff was super nice, the rooms (actually small cabins) are really nicely furnished and you can park your car right in front of the door, which makes it super convenient when you have lot of luggage. Everything was clean, pool was awesome. We will definitely come back! Thank you!

Location is brilliant, close to places of interest within 30 minutes travel. Top restaurants on your doorstep. A small shopping centre next-door. The pool is gorgeous and a good size, and plenty of sun loungers. The rooms are a well equipped with furniture and storage.

We had a single night here, and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel was busy, due to a local soccer competition but the breakfast was re-stocked well so no problems getting what we wanted. The rooms were fresh, we had a great balcony view to the beach and cliff from the 5th floor. The gym was small, and the roof top space for the pool and sundeck was enjoyable. There is a rule to wear a swimming cap in the pool, not sure how strictly it is enforced. Staff at the front desk were very helpful and friendly, and bike storage in the carpark was easy to arrange.

Location is perfect. Great views from the room. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful! We were able to leave our car in the garage so we could stay longer in Nazare. Everyone was very helpful. They had towels that we could take to the pool or beach.

The facilities were really good, the rooftop swimming pool was really nice and the view was amazing and the staff was super friendly and accommodating

We arrived a little early and were able to check in anyway. Staff was super-friendly and helpful. They provided directions and made dinner reservations for us. The room was quite large - suitable for 3 and had a large, bright outdoor patio with nice views, and screens to block the light and heat. Everything was modern, comfortable, and clean and the tv, wifi, bathroom all worked very well. Having a parking space available in Nazare was a real draw. The location was amazing - just a block to the beach and right along the main drag. Breakfast upstairs had an incredible view and had everything you could want - delicious. The common areas by reception were gorgeous and comfortable for sitting. The sign in the elevator (in English) describing the 100 foot waves was very informative!

The hotel is very nice, 150 metres from the beach and 30 metres from a square with many restaurants. Old town is 15 mins walk uphill or a short trip on funicular. There is very limited parking by the hotel, so it is recommended to use free public parking (a huge one) which is ca 800 metres away (8-10 min walk). When I stayed it was very quiet at night, but on some nights there might be noise from restaurants. Breakfast is served in a very beautiful panoramic room on the 5th floor, the choices are a bit limited though - mostly cold cuts and bread.

Most wonderful multilingual staff every day!! Two days so far, 3 more to go! Beautiful hotel, well maintained and definitely above expectations. Rooms are spacious with balconies. Beds are comfy, good pillows too. Amazing water pressure. Plenty of outlets. Don't forget your adapters/converters. Daily room cleanup, refresh! Location is the Best! Just a few blocks from beach. Great food in plaza across the street. Local grocery just a few steps away. Free European breakfast great, plenty of options in a room with excellent views! We picked a great one for our week stay in Nazaré! Definitely recommended!

The rooms were a little on the small side, but they were clean and bright and perfect for a couple. The bathroom was great, and the balcony (we were on the 4th floor), with views of the entire city, was amazing. We could even take a peek at the ocean. The breakfast was wonderful too, with almost 360 degrees views. The staff was kind and helpful Nd the parking, although far, was essential, as it is very hard to find parking in the historic center. Location was perfect. I’d certainly stay there again.

Wonderfully positioned hotel, close to the beach. The staff were brilliant, very helpful with suggestions, and just nice people all round. The room was great, with a lovely, clear view down the street to the beach. No complaints at all, I would recommend the hotel to anyone who wanted a quality stay in this amazing little town. A bonus was the restaurant the staff recommended we eat at, which was a very good recommendation.

The location is steps away from the bus stop and city gate so very convenient, even though it does not have the charm and romance of staying inside the town walls. The breakfast buffet is excellent in a country where a real breakfast is hard to find, and at a very reasonable price.

This is a small hotel, beautifully situated just outside the city walls. It even provides free parking, though there isn't much of it. The hotel has gone to great efforts to make its guests feel welcome and comfortable. The breakfast was very good; however, the hotel restaurant was closed on the day we were there.

We had a lovely stay! Fantastic location is right near the entrance. Excellent staff were always very helpful and knowledgeable and went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay. Breakfast was delicious, especially the cake!! Would definitely return if we are ever in Obidos😄

Fantastic location for exploring the old town, especially for those using bus transport to reach the town. We had a two-twin double with a nice patio out back. Room was clean, tidy, attractive comfortable, and 100% functional. Breakfast was short of phenomenal but very good.

My room was immaculate and had a partial sea view - my bed was so comfy! Location is superb, breakfast even better. My bike safely stored in the huge garage. I’m sure we will meet again. The hotel is in an excellent location, right inside the castle wall. You could easily walk to stores and restaurants. If you want there are many entrances where you can climb the wall. The only con is that cars are not allowed to come to the hotel making it a bit difficult to unload your luggage especially in the rain. However everyone at the hotel goes above and beyond. They actually came to help with our luggage. Filipina and Sofia were just wonderful. Filipina helped us change rooms, even gave us a free lunch and reserved a taxi for us on our departure. Sofia helped us with the TV in the living room and kept us posted when there was an issue with the pipes. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast as very good. This is our second time at this hotel and I would not think of going anywhere else.

Very spacious place — a two-bedroom apartment with a large kitchen and dining area. Super comfortable, especially if you’re traveling with a few pieces of luggage. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, providing detailed instructions on how to get close to the hotel to unload our suitcases, and even gave us a hand carrying them to the apartment. Take into consideration that the place has three separate toilets and three separate showers. Feels a bit like a dormitory 😄. But actually came very handy, when most of family members can spare some time. Staying a night inside the medieval walls was a truly unique experience — we absolutely loved it! The hotel also has its own brewery with 12 types of excellent draft beer, so you can enjoy a great night out just a few steps from your room. Highly recommended!

Great place to stay INSIDE the castle walls. Easy walk to everything worth seeing or doing plus food & drinks. Hotel staff was pleasant, professional & VERY helpful—made dinner resv for us at Nova Casa de Ramiro, a place that’s hard to get! They also found washcloths for us when asked (not normally in European baths). We stayed in the “Queen Isabel” suite—a nice treat up high & private. *ONE NOTE—plan ahead on your luggage. It’s a long tricky walk from the mandatory outside parking areas! But again, WELL WORTH IT!! Be sure to walk the all castle walls, try the sour cherry liquor with chocolate cups! THANKS TO STAFF❣️

Beautiful property inside the walls of the medieval section of the city. We were greeted for a very late check in by friendly Natalia who offered us the local cherry liqueur. She was very helpful and attentive. This property is charming and I would definitely be back if we visit this area again. All city attractions are within walking distance. Make sure to tour the city walls and the Main Street. Note that you cannot enter the old city with a car so parking is outside the walls and luggage is carried inside. This can be challenging with big suitcases but worth the effort.

I booked this stay last minute as I wanted to explore Obidos. I had to work during the day, so I needed to find a place with easy access to the town and with strong internet. It had that in spades. It was a really comfortable room, with an awesome view. The care of the front desk team to help me explore thoroughly- every time I entered or exited they made sure I was doing well and they checked in on if I liked the Chocolate Event that was happening nearby. If I return to Obidos, I'll absolutely be staying here again.

Excellent location - it was about 5 min walk to the bus station, maybe 10 with heavy luggage. Equally near to the historic centre with many different restaurants. The room was very clean and of a good size for me, but I think the floor space might be a little tight for two or more big luggages. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious, the hot water and shower pressure were great, and I also appreciate that there was a shower curtain. There was no hairdryer in the room but I could borrow one (a rather powerful one) from the front desk. Excellent WiFi. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, especially the lady on evening/night duty.

The room was very nice and clean. The hotel is located at edge of the center of town, walking distance to the castelo, museum, and historic district. The staff was incredibly wonderful.

The property is located a short walk from the center of the town that has some nice cafes and spaces to sit and enjoy the view.

Hotel staff listen and make your staff a very pleasant one. Great location, breakfast area was clean, well maintained, food assortment and quality was good.

The staff was amazing. The rooms super clean. A safe place to leave the car, free of charge.

Such a beautiful hotel, in the middle of the nature. The staff was amazing since the moment we checked until the very last moment we left. They showed us all the premises, recommended us nice restaurants to go and have a nice meal, let us stay after the check out time to enjoy the pool. The room was gorgeous, modern, clean, amazing! The infinite pool was lovely, with plenty of space betweenness the sofas and chair for people to sunbath. Let’s not forget we stayed at the hotel in the middle of the all COVID situation. The staff handled it very well, the breakfast had to be booked so there was enough room for us to enjoy a lovely buffet in a safe and quiet environment. I will definitely come back!

This is a wonderful hotel. Check in is efficient and also fun. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and with comfortable beds. We also really enjoyed our breakfast experience with eggs cooked to order. We didn’t get a chance to try their restaurant. There are many funky touches through this property and I imagine would be a lot of fun for a young child to experience. There is also a beautiful outdoor pool and a 3 tiny indoor pools that you get for your self for 30 min if pre-booking ahead of time. The caves near by are must see.

We stayed one night at the hotel for our 2nd wedding anniversary. I had let the staff know (on the day itself) and despite the late notice, they organised a great surprise: they had placed little paper hearts all over the bed, two Champagne glasses and a small Cava bottle in the fridge. Super nice, thank you!! About the hotel itself: the staff are super friendly and go out of their way to make your stay nice. The location is absolutely amazing, located along several hiking routes and close to several highlights. They also have bikes. The pool is really nice too (albeit cold!). Unfortunately the inside pool was still closed. The rooms are clean and well maintained, albeit not really our style in terms of decoration (but that's personal)

We stayed here to access the national park and the nearby limestone caves which are worth seeing. Signage to the reception at the property could be clearer but it is a prominent building in the small village. Breakfast was very good although the absence of tea / coffee amenities in the room meant you had to access them from a common area at cost (expensive). Room tariff included access to some relaxation pools (3 small pools with different temperatures) which was a good experience although you have to pre-book. Bathroom is not very private as the shower screen is clear glass above the bed - may be an issue for some people. Nice building design and clearly focused on eco- friendly options.

Rooms were fantastic providing an enormous kitchen living area, good size bathroom and bedroom perfect for self catering . There was a hob and microwave and fridge . Fantastic breakfast, easy parking, excellent friendly helpful staff . Pool area is a bit tired and small but the pool was very clean . Need more sun beds and umbrellas although we always got seated . Nice rooftop bar . The bathroom in our room (405) did need a bit of tile attention for mould but nothing major . Can’t really fault the place great value for money .

The hotel has a great location, very close to the city center and Leiria Castle. Also there is a skate park, kids playground, football ground and basketball court right in front of the hotel, so lots of activities are available if you're staying with the kids. The hotel has free underground parking and a great pool on the roof. The rooms are basically fully equipped apartments with kitchen and spacious rooms. On top of that there is a great breakfast available. We enjoyed staying there a lot, my kid was super happy with all the activities in the pool and playground, will definitely come once again.

Breakfast was great, we had a two room suite, a bedroom and a combo living room, kitchen, dining room. The combo room had a closing sliding door and a couch that opened into a bed. In a few words: location, parking, breakfast, rooftop pool, large clean rooms all for $80.00 a night.

The room is comfortable and spacious. The reception very friendly. We didn't have enough time to try the pool or gym, but the rooftop was great. We loved the breakfast - although we missed some traditional Portuguese options.

Rooms were cleaned every day and the breakfast was varied. The pastry's were immense and the coffee was just right! Staff were very friendly and is located right in the centre, circa 4 min walk away. There is a local spar for shopping and lots of coffee shops/ amenities closeby. Leiria square is wonderful throughout the day and very affordable. Try the gelato at Fior di Latte and there is a barber just round the corner that serves beer, free pacman and affordable shaves!

Stayed here with some of my students who were delighted with the hotel. It has everything that you need for a short break, its a short walk from the town centre and is clean and well cared for. The staff were tremendous, could not do enough for you and were good with the students, many of whom had never been to Portugal before. I had a small accident when there and the looked after me and ensured I had all the help that I required. The front of house staff were chatty and genuinely interested in our adventures! A great wee place to stay.

Just got back from a spending a week in this hotel while on vacation in Leiria. The staff was very nice and friendly, and the hotel was exceptionally clean. The beds were comfy, the showers had really good water pressure, and the price was more than fair. Location is right in the center of the city, perfect if you want to explore Leiria without a car. Breakfast is typical European, which I love. I would stay here again for sure.

The hotel is not quite downtown, but it is excellent for a 3 star. I got a big room, with a big bathroom, and a balcony. The view from the 6th floor on the corner is amazing. The room is very clean and comfortable, including the bed and pillows. The breakfast is ok (ham, cheese, fruits, coffee and juice, pastry). The staff is quite welcoming and helpful.

Room's immaculate, big and ultra-clean bathroom, breakfast very complete, extremely friendly and professional staff... It's a 9/10 and more than you can ask for that money. If they improve the Wi-Fi, very unstable in the rooms, and the icing in the cake, the tv's, a bit small for the size of the room, it'll be perfect.

Obidos gets quite busy during the day, but things quiet down in the evening and early morning, and it was great having the town to ourselves then. Didn't eat supper at the Pousada, but the breakfast was great! We loved waking up to all the birds chirping and to the lovely town views from our window. Super relaxing place to stay! Also loved that they will pick you up and drive you back to your vehicle (you must park outside the walls). The stay is not cheap, but was a great splurge for us and we enjoyed staying at the castle. We also walked the walls in the morning with fewer people which I'd highly recommend. It is a cool experience, but not for the weak of heart! No railings anywhere, and some steep stairs, but if you are okay with heights, it was worth it for both the views and the experience.

Staying in such a historic setting added a special dimension to our visit, and we would highly recommend this property to anyone seeking a unique and unforgettable experience in Portugal.

Beautiful clean lovely location wonderful staff excellent breakfast all stellar. Nadia is the first person you meet at the hotel. As a first impression, she is a great representative of the hotel. Your experience with her tella a wonderful story of what your stay will be like as she is A+ Her customer service is amazing. She is friendly personable and very helpful. We will definitely stay here when we return to Óbidos. One word of caution. The hotel is located I side the City Wall. It is very difficult to find as no vehicles are allowed in the city walls (except residents and first responders. You must park in a lot outside the City Wall and walk with your luggage to the hotel. It would be helpful if the hotel had notice on its website.

We loved our time at the castle, it was a unique and wonderful experience. We normally travel on a MUCH lower budget, but saved up specifically to stay in the tower room because we were so excited. Staying at the castle means you can access the private courtyard and interiors of the castle. The restaurant was also very good. Some of the reviews complained about the stairs, but this is a historic castle from centuries before elevators were invented so it comes with the territory. It would be a disservice to destroy the history and change the castle to add them. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They even carried our bags up the stairs to our rooms so we didn’t have to lug them up. Highly recommend this experience!

This is a legit castle that you can walk around and explore. The medieval city within the walls was amazing to see and explore. The food options, drinks, wines and shops were plentiful and all perfect. The people were so friendly and helpful. The city locals and tourists all combine in this area to chat over a glass of wine. The views of the city are breathtaking. I would highly highly recommend this property for a one of a kind stay in a real castle. Being a real castle, the rooms are not the most soundproof, but quiet enough. It’s your room neighbors that could keep you up. Parking is not the easiest as the streets are tight and crowded during peak times. Otherwise, this is a great place.

Hip new vibe to holidaying with a great skating bowl freshly made as well as a pool and retreat area. A guy (or a group) came up with an awesome idea with the resources they had. Consequently, It's 200 metres away from a main road, there's a mediocre house next door that shares an entire side perimeter and its more than 3 kms from the surf. So in some ways it doesn't quite fit the whole ECO vibe in regards to surrounding environment but internally it is spectacular. Kids who love skating will love this place and consequently their parents (who may also skate) will love it too. The tents embrace the "glamping" craze with vigor and the tree huts would make a monchichi (google it) jealous. Don't go here if you just want a place near the surf action but come here for the perks Be warned, massages, yoga and even soap will cost extra but all are great.

it is beautifully located with a beautiful pool, and a skate bowl in a forest - a place to feel at home. The kitchen is lovely and invites you and the rest of the people to work, rest, have dinner, etc. We had a great stay and met some lovely people in the house. Also, something to point out is the good smell in the surroundings and the quiet doors, like that we did not weak anyone up.

Clean, well designed, sense of details that we don't find in Portugal, friendly staff, good location, great pool and skatepool, restaurant was good quality and price.

Es una zona muy tranquila y acojedora y las habitaciones son preciosas con tu propia terraza que es un puntazo.

На машине было очень удобно добираться до пляжа и ресторанов. В самом отеле отличный завтрак. Он простой, но есть всё что нужно - кофе из кофемашины, апельсиновый сок, фрукты, омлет, очень вкусный хлеб, который можно поджарить в тостере, нарезка колбасы и сыра, выпечка. Любезные персонал (на сколько я поняла они и есть владельцы отеля).

I truly recommend this hotel for any tourist who wishes to travel to Baleal. The accommodation is located near key restaurants and a 4-5 minute walk to the beach. Location was perfect. Also, the accommodation is super spacious and all rooms have a beautiful terrace to relax and chill out outside. I particularly want to thank the admin/host, as they were super kind. The receptionist was super kind to me at all times,and he was attentive and very helpful at all times. Definitely coming back!

The hotel I keep coming back to from my very first arrival to Baleal years ago. Super lovely family business. In amazing location! Ocean is only a few steps away. Supermarket in front. Very comfortable rooms. I never looked for some other place to stay, as this one has all I need and it’s simply perfect! And the people, who run it, amazing! thank you for another great stay!

It really is in a splendid place, with beautiful views, quiet, silent and easily accessible. The heated indoor pool is very good and all the environments are pleasant. Breakfast is great, the beds are the same and the bathrooms are excellent. The rooms have an excellent balcony.

Breakfast was really good, indoor swimming pool very nice and decent size and temperature and super nice schedules of closing and opening specially for parents with kids, that want to try enjoy it after bedtime.

The gym also looked nice with mainly cardio equipment, but unfortunately didn't have a chance to use it. Good fun for the little ones. The room was cozy, large bathroom, comfy bad and nice terrace. Breakfast was really good, large variety of options. Overall, we were very happy with our stay.

The hotel room was clean and bright, very cozy. The swimming pool on the roof is simply best, the view from there is stunning (you can literally see the whole city and the ocean).

Great location. Rooms facing the ocean and beach have small balconies which are perfect to enjoy great views or cup of wine at the sunset. Not many hotels in the area have these views. However there is a price for this. If you are staying Friday and Saturday nights, be prepared to tolerate loud music until 2 am form the restaurants located downstairs on the plaza. Double glazed room windows help, however, you still would feel the beat. We came prepared with our very own ear plugs :) The room itself is very small, I don't think there is any room for big suitcases. The queen size bed other old style furniture take all the space leaving about 1 m passage to move around. Cleaning ladies are very courteous and knock on the door every morning after 10:30am to ask what time they could come and o their job. They do a good job keeping the room clean and tidy. During our stay, in mid June, the weather was nice with min +15 and max +25. Therefore, we did not need an air conditioner in the room, which does not have it. The room has a bar fridge, electric kettle, plates, cups, cutlery - all the necessary stuff to have a breakfast or snacks on the balcony. This is great and we enjoyed it at the fullest. Just get out to the balcony and you will forget all about the room size and loud music on the weekend nights! I will come back again and again if I'd have a chance to return to Nazare.

My friends and I stayed in this little, homely establishment during our stay in Nazare. It is conveniently located very close to the beach and the front desk is very helpful. More importantly, I left a very precious item in the hotel and only realised when I was in Porto!! My daughter's teddy!! She gave it to me as my vacation companion. What's more is that this teddy was given to her by me. I got this teddy in England two decades ago and it is very precious to my daughter and me... I accidentally left it in the hotel!! And the lovely, kind owner was soooo helpful. He took the trouble to send it to me and there were postal mishaps and what not. He was patient and his kindness will always be remembered. He even took the effort to send it through intl' post all the way to Singapore!!! The service and kindness I experienced tremendously supersedes the physicality of the room itself.. I will highly recommend the stay in Solar Dos Carvalhos :) Book now!!

Beautiful property with a historic touch, but modern at the same time. I had a beautiful view of the beach. With great towels, and clean shower! Everything was perfect, the front desk lady extremely nice I loved her ( I don’t remember her name but I remember she lived in France)! She made my one day trip to Nazaré so special! She gave me the most amazing restaurant recommendation and help to go North Point. Thank you for making my stay so comfortable and memorable. I would definitely be back and stay here again 💜

The location is great. It is very close to the beach, also to many cafes and restaurants and also to the stairs that lead up the hill. The staff that I met were both great, morning and afternoon. The woman who checked us in (we were earlier than expected also) explained everything about the unit clearly and patiently. Some of the best things about the room were the great small details of amenities like dishes and coffee supplies, everything was arranged so thoughtfully. I would definitely return.

I went for a quick weekend away with my son as he has hasd a tough year. It was amazing, the staff/owner was amazing, helpful and insightful. Location litterally cannot be beaten. Parking outside to drop off, and lots of parking dotted around and its safe. My dogs loved the beach - and dogs are welcome in the apartment. The room was big, clean and had everything you would need for a long stay. Beds are comfy and the shower is amazing. 5 stars

The room was very comfortable and it was great to have a shared kitchen available to prepare meals. There was even a coffee machine with free coffee available to prepare. The host Isaac was exceptionally helpful, hospitable and organised. He explained how to use the facilities in the room and kitchen and recommended places to visit. He also was readily available to contact in case there were any questions or assistance needed. It was also very close to a bakery with excellent bread and not too far from small minimarket for supplies when needed.

Isaak was wonderful, accommodating, and very communicative. The room, living room, and kitchen were all very comfortable and clean. The kitchen is stocked with a coffee maker, stove, microwave, and cookware for those who would like to cook. The apartment is across the street from a nice little bakery and a 10-15 minute walk away from Supertubos. Side note: this part of town is a great area to stay to be away from the party crowds. It's very quiet and inviting.

The owner is very attentive and friendly. We had a late check-in plus we got lost in the city, but he was waiting for us and met. He is constantly in touch and ready to help, interested in whether guests need something. The room is very clean, comfortable, also very comfortable bed. Near's the beach, 10 min walk, across the road 's cafe where you can have a breakfast. Recommend!

I don’t have a lot of expectation about place for that price, but everything is wonderful. 50m further are bakey (but unfortunatelly closed on Thursdays).

Awesome breakfast which was perfect for our cycling group here for the night. Amazing rooftop bar in front of the silver-tinted ocean! This hotel is a great choice if you are visiting or planning to visit Fatima and Nazare. Only 25 minutes to Nazare and 45 minutes to Fatima. The hotel is clean, staff was super nice. We loved our stay here. Staff is super friendly and nice, breakfast was great and the SPA is good too. The location is the cherry on the cake. If you can get a sea view room, simply go for it: it’s 110% worth it!

I arrived late and was well received. The lady at reception made me a nice cup of coffee. It is an old hotel,the style,but not the furniture, newly covered chairs, new beds and bedding. Very clean and spacious. I depart very early and could not try the breakfast. The hotel is opposite the .monastory, thus an excellent location and view.

Tha stay at Hotel Santa Maria was pretty impecable, at a lack of better words. Everything was arranged for a quiet stay, although the Carnaval was occurring right in front at the Hotel. The room was extremely clean, very comfortable and with amazing natural light. Breakfast was served fresh everyday, starting at 7.30 am. Looking forward to going back!

The view from the room with Alcobaça's Monastery pretty much accross the road. Great breakfast buffet. Free car park available just a little walk from the entrance with closed gates and code to get in. There's a covered paid car park right next to the entrance door for anyone who prefers this option.

I liked the room, it was clean and tidy, the bathroom was as well. After one night, the next day, the used towels were removed and put new ones. The breakfast was good, and while eating, we had a beautiful view in front: the Alcobaça Monastery.

We stayed here for Christmas Eve and checked out the day after Christmas. We were over a week into our Portugal travels staying in Airbnbs along the way and this stay was just the treat we needed! Ocean view rooms, robes/slippers, great beds/bedding, ample shampoo/conditioner/body wash/lotion, welcome treats (fruitcake and local cherry liqueur), plus an incredible included breakfast buffet every morning. We also paid for the Christmas Eve dinner and had a Christmas night casual dinner there too….great food, service everywhere we went! The indoor pool was really fancy and fun with a sauna and steam room and different showers to try out (water bucket, rainfall, etc)…kids loved it. Outdoor pools looked amazing, but obviously not in use in December. Sunsets from the beach bluff overlooking the ocean were unreal. Free parking. Really recommend this place!

I recently visited the spa area of the Marriott Hotel located right on the Atlantic coast, and it was a lovely experience. For just €20, you get access to the gym, sauna, hammam, hydrotherapy baths, and a warm indoor pool. There’s also an outdoor area with a pool (note: it’s not heated), which is great for sunny days. The spa is family-friendly and perfect for a relaxing day, even with kids. Inside the shower area, they provide shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The facilities are not very large, and there are a limited number of changing lockers, but everything was clean and well-maintained. I especially appreciated the availability of hot and cold drinking water in all the zones. The interior is simple, but functional. As someone who lives in Peniche, I’m really happy to have such a great wellness option nearby. I’ll definitely be coming back!

We had a wonderful two-night stay at your hotel! The highlights were as follows: *Buffet breakfast was amazing! *Amenities were great, including the outdoor pool, indoor pool, sauna, steam room, and gym! *The room was spacious and very clean. *The beds and linens were very comfortable. *We appreciated the free daily bottle of water in the refrigerator. *The beach was paradise. The few items that we were disappointed with: *The fact that you had to pay for the coffee in the room was a surprise. We had never seen this before in a hotel. *The room air conditioner was difficult to set, not cold enough, and very loud.

The hotel itself is a Class A property with wonderful on site amenities and direct access to an amazing beachfront! The rooms are very spacious with a very roomy bathroom… The large outdoor pool is at the heart of the hotel overlooking the ocean and provides a tranquil and calm vein from the main level terrace. The staff, from guest services and reception, to the bar and restaurant are very attentive, extremely kind and friendly! We had an amazing and relaxing time staying at this resort and another fine job by Marriott with this property! Thank you staff for an amazing and warm experience!!! It is best to have a rental car to venture out to the surrounding villages and to get to Peniche to try some of the wonderful dining experiences and to visit Berlengas by boat! We took the ferry and booked the glass bottom cave tour and hike which was amazing! The hike is not for the faint hearted since there are around 300 steps up some steep and a little rocky terrain, but a beautiful hike!

Hotel service was great. Staffs are kind and helpful. They provide many treats such as welcome drinks, and each day I have porto wine and egg tart and portugals' cake. And coffee and cookies are always available at the lobby. I went there for golf, so I have not had any facilities such as swimming pools. But I can expect they are nice. The one thing that I don't satisfy is the foods. Foods are just normal..and not so delicious..even other club house as well. Hope hotel try to develop new menu and improve quality of food. But all was perfect for me! Definitely I will go there again!

Although the building is a bit old and needs a little brushup, the rooms are very comfortable, the meals are served with high standar and the price is very satisfactory. Plus, it's located not too far from the city center: just enough to enjoy a peaceful staying and to be able to get to places with a little stroll.

This was an amazing stay during our time in Obidos! The hotel staff were completely helpful The area itself was amazing, the hotel was so cool and the pool was NECESSARY because it was so hot while we were there and we were able to wait out the peak tourist time by the pool with probably the best view of the castle, the restaurants nearby were amazing, everything was so great! If you take public transport it's right near the bus stop which was incredibly convenient. Our one "con" is we thought it was a bit silly the hotel staff was made to wear Medieval costumes.

Close to everything you want to see and do...staff was very helpful. Parking garage is great.... Room was clean and the double superior room was large and had 6 windows! Pool was great and clean... Only downside was we had to pay 5 euros for the pool towels.

If you are happy with 'quirky' then this will work fine. The room keys are like something out of a medieval jail!! Rooms are great, location perfect just outside the city walls of Obidos, so everything immediately accessible without being in with the hoards of tourists. Breakfast really good and plentiful. One gripe, advertises a pool. It was very hot in the afternoon, so a dip would have been great but although end of May, pool 'not open' until 1 June, so if important it may be worth checking when its available.

We had a great spacious room with a view of the pool but had to go outside to access the room. A little problem with the rain. Parking available but arriving early was not and it is very slippery infront of the hotel but we were able to park. Great place for a one day stay at Obidos during a driving tour of Portugal. No need to stay more than that.

I thought my room was very pleasant, with large windows that opened out to the pool area. My room was quiet and clean, and the bathroom was clean as well. The hotel is conveniently located near all the major sights in town and is close to a large parking lot, if you happen to be renting a car.

Nice staff, big comfortable room, in the city centre and close to the rail and bus station. Nice outdoor swimming pool. They were also able to give me a kettle to make coffee.

We had an amazing stay and the fact that everything you need is in the hotel itself, including yoga, rooftop terrace with pool/jacuzzi and most importantly the surfing school in the basement where you get dressed and equipped on the spot and driven to the beach with instructor and back to hotel and quick access to your room for a hot shower! The food was delicious and fresh and they accommodated my daughter's dietary needs. We rarely go back to the same places, but we would come back to the easygoingness of Surfer's Lodge

I didn't know what to expect from the photos. Either they could have been too good to be true or just ok but the facilities here are beautiful and sooo cool. I didn't even know they had a pool that was an added bonus. The room was great and met every need.

This may be the top end of hotel accommodation in surf Mecca Baleal and is a very enjoyable place to stay. Stripped down shabby chic feel, friendly staff and never too busy (though the ground floor restaurants can get busy since not just for hotel guests, and food is decent). Not too big so feels personal and always relaxed. Highlights are the rooftop sun lounging and pool/jacuzzi area (was never too busy, great views), the breakfast (amazing) and surf lessons from João Maria! Great hotel for families, but doesn't feel dominated by families, good mix of people.

The Reception made our Check-in process a breeze and allowed us to occupy our room right away before the stated time. Room 230 is spacious, away from elevators and faces the forest side of the property, with a terrace. It was very clean, but a bit too dark. Linens, towels, mattress, and pillows are good quality. But, to my surprise, one towel was really thin and had six holes in it. The service at this hotel was above and beyond our expectations. For lunch, having the restaurant arranged for an event, a table was set up in minutes at the lobby, facing the pool for us. The food, presentation and service were the best we have had in a long time. The included buffet breakfast offers items for all tastes and/or diets. Dinner was a great experience as well and prices are more than reasonable for the quality and the service. The only critic is that they offer the same menu for both lunch and dinner. With a two night stay, we had the chance to try dishes we did not have for lunch. The Spa offers many types of services and treatments. Unfortunately, our short stay allowed us for just a small sample. The Spa space is beautiful, and the therapists were very good. As hotel guest you can get a discounted price. Parking is free for guests. We recommend this property and would love to go back for a longer stay Spa Vacation.

Great hotel for family as the room and the bathroom are spacious and well equipped. The bed was confortable, but not so much the extra bed if the children is heavier. My son being 70 pounds was ok, but the matress is thin and soft. It was quiet, we slept very well. The pool is large and clean.We had great service and restaurant advices from the employees. Great family stay at this hotel for 1 week. Families are very well looked after with the kids club room and pool area. Great spot to get to beaches and surrounding area. Breakfast coffee can be hit and miss as others have stated, some days it was great, others not really drinkable as they had re-heated old water. Service was mostly excellent. Spa is also great, just be aware there is a 16 euro charge for access but well worth it for two hours of total relaxation.

Helpful and professional. Love the fact that breakfast is available early, which means I can use a dining table as the best place to work. There is also a small workstation in the lounge which I use.

We've stayed here several times, and once again, everything was excellent. The location is great, the employees are kind, the hotel is quiet, the showers are hot, there are extra blankets if it's cold, and the free breakfast was a great bonus.

The location is perfect 👌 you have everything that you need near by. The staff has always very friendly and helpful 5 stars 🌟 for them. Very clean rooms 👌 Just perfect 👌 Good value for money. Definitely I will be staying in this hotel again!!!

The apartments themselves are very comfortable and equipped with everything you need for a longer stay. The kitchen is well equipped, there were all the necessary dishes and utensils. Clean, bright and spacious - we were very satisfied. We also need to praise the staff for their care and attention throughout the stay. Of course, small gifts also make us feel good. We are grateful for the tickets to the international chocolate festival in Obidos, because we would not have known and might not have gone there ourselves. Very good value for money...

We had a excellent stay at this hotel, is well situated with parking facility, the food was very good for an hotel this rate, the typical portuguese dishes such as fava beans with porc (favas com entrecosto) and litle fried mackerel (jaquinzinhos) were really good, so was the bread pudding and home made breakfast yogurth. The swimming pool was real good. But the number one thing about this hotel is the staff, from the reception to the chamber maid along with restaurant people, they are fantastic always with a smile and ready to help you with everything you need.

The service in the breakfast was delightful, all the waiters were super friendly and everyday they did something special for my kid. The food at the breakfast doesn’t have to much variety but what was there was really delicious. I booked the hotel with half board and in the night the dinner was buffet. It was so much food and so delicious. Congrats to the chef that prepared the food. The rooms are really big and the bath was really relaxing.

Gorgeous country setting and beautifully maintained grounds. Beautiful pool and tennis courts. Instead of booking a room in the main house I confusedly reserved what turned out to be a cozy sand charming self contained apartment within the the complex. It had a living room bedroom and kitchen and well stocked with all the equipment one might need for an extended stay. The manager explained that breakfast does not come with the apartment rental but they gave it to us complimentary nonetheless, Main manor house had nicely decorated and comfortable common spaces. Great buffet breakfast served at large communal table in elegant ding room.Even though out in the countryside, we were just five minutes to restaurants for dinner and village of Obidos. In Fact, you can see the Obidos castle lit up at night from the Hotel.

This is a charming B&B that sits below Obidos. It is a short drive to the parking lot just outside the walled city. The B&B has nice bedrooms along with a shared living room for reading, wifi, relaxing and sipping port. There is also a nice dining room for the free breakfast. We enjoyed the hospitality and meeting other travelers over breakfast. We stopped here for one night en route from Porto to Lisbon. Wish we could have stayed longer. It is a relaxing location with a pool, tennis court and great view of the castle on the hill. Not hard to find with GPS. Highly recommend.

The hotel was very near Obidos - 15 mns by foot, and we had a great view of the castle from our room. We were made to feel very welcomed by Marianne, who also provided us with some bread for breakfast as we had booked a self-catering apartment without realising! The apartment was clean, comfortable and had some lovely decorative touches. The hotel also had a pool and a lovely garden to relax in. Marianne recommended a great little restaurant by the church nearby, only 5 mns' walk, which we loved so much that we went back every night! A great hotel for a romantic getaway.

Absolutely beautiful property and location just outside of town, must be seen in daylight top really appreciate. The common room on the second floor, with pool table, was an unexpected surprise. Everything was immaculately clean except for the common w/c on the main floor was slightly neglected. Our private w/c was perfectly clean, my only complaint would be that the shower head would not stay up on it's own and had to be held manually, and the towels could have used a little fabric softener when being washed :-). Nonetheless, a very beautiful planned to stay.

I was worried about staying here after reading some reviews and realizing it was outside of the city walls, however my fears were unfounded. The hotel is a few feet from an entrance to the city and the fact that it was outside made parking and luggage drop off a breeze. We had friends staying inside and it was somewhat of a nightmare to drop them off. In fact I'm not entirely sure that we won't receive a fine in the near future for trying to drop them off. As for the hotel, we had two rooms and both were big and comfortable. I only took videos of the rooms and can't figure out how to post them here. The breakfast was generous and even had an option for freshly cooked eggs. We weren't able to do e at the hotel but the dinning room was very full of ambience and beautiful. The hotel has a lovely patio that we sneaked out to at night and I can imagine it would be lovely to sit out there with a glass of wine and unwind at the end of the day. I would highly recommend this hotel and Obidos and would stay here again if we are ever in the area again.

I thought this hotel was very charming. As a biblophile myself I loved the dining room decorated with books from floor to ceiling and also the rooms upstairs. The foyer was even nice, this hotel has real character and my room was great with it's own small suntrap courtyard. I thought the included breakfast was very good with many options and I did have a meal here on one night with live music, which I enjoyed, but I thought the food on the night let the hotel down somewhat I had the mushroom pie starter and the piglet belly with orange sauce for a main and while it was nice enough, I expected something special from the tempting sounding menu and overall quality of the hotel. That is not to say I wouldn't dine there again, as I would try out other items and if I was to visit Obidos again I will book this hotel. One of the main problems with this hotel is it is in such a lovely town, because if it was in a town with nothing to see it would be a pleasure to stay in the hotel itself for the day, especially if you were writing a book.

My Husband and i just arrived home from our holiday in Portugal, my husband surprised me with a special weekend out of our planned route to the most beautiful hotel and village i've seen. Óbidos was a fairytale, and the Literary Man was the cherry on top of the cake. I loved that feeling of being transported to an old library of the past, an old convent, ask in reception and they will tell you the history of the hotel... Nothing compares to the smell and comfort physical books give you. And they were everywhere - even in the guest rooms. My only regret is not staying long enough to read a few of the books they had on display while cuddled in the gorgeous sofas in the common spaces. I also loved the comfortable minimalism of our suite, which had two full bathrooms (quite an unexpected perk). The restaurant had a dreamy atmosphere, but the food is to die for, breafast is homemade and you can see that. The staff was amazingly friendly. I couldn't recommended enough, if you have a chance please plan a special getway to Óbidos and please to stay at The Literary Man you won't regret it.

To ME, this was the best hotel experience of my life. We had room 1 which may be described as an upgraded room I assume. I say this as in the element we were in which is a historical town. The hotel is just outside the fortress walls and has easy access to the inner portions of the walls with residences, shops and restaurants and with beauty everywhere. Getting back to the hotel, its room, restaurant and complete interior is amazing and a site to see. We look extremely forward to going back to this hotel in the future and will request the same room. I must point out there is a private terrace that is accessed through a window which was my favorite surprise. We also had perfect weather so this always adds to the experience. I wish we stayed there longer.

I stayed with my wife, daughter and son-in-law in two rooms at this surprising hotel in October, during the Folio literary festival. The hotel would have been a convent. The current decoration with thousands of books is unique and comfortable. The rooms and bathrooms are great. Cleanliness and friendliness of staff 5 stars. Very good location next to the walls, out of the crowd, but a 7-minute walking distance from the center. The restaurant is very worth it, with excellent cuisine. I ate a very delicious braised fish. One of the desserts won first prize in a recent sweets competition. The hotel is managed directly by the owner's daughter, which gives guests special attention and care. We will certainly return and even offer some books that we have at home for your collection 😆
