Beautiful surroundings, very quiet and relaxing. Lovely natural water swimming pool and very comfortable rooms which are authentic and homely. Amazing local breakfast provided. The owners of the property are wonderful hosts they even drove us around showing us all the local places to see and food to try. Our hosts also helped us a lot with our onward travel plans and knowledge of where to go. We enjoyed a beautiful walk up through the farm roads to a resteurant right at the top of the hill with amazing views. We had an amazing time and highly recommend, best experience in Penang. Thanks

It is the perfect place to relax after spending time on the busier other side of Penang island — especially if you enjoy nature and bicycle rides in the countryside. We upgraded to the chalet with private dip pool and that was a treat. The path up to the chalet is lined with fruit trees and the hosts explained each tree and the other plants around.

The people were very very friendly and helpful. (And the dogs were nice too) The little pool just outside our chalet stayed surprisingly cool and was a big bonus. The breakfasts were great, with "safe" options and a chance to explore local food! The place in general is peaceful and natural,.

The location is amazing. Fully immersed in nature. The walk up to the nearby Thai restaurant for sunset was great. We ate fresh Durian and pineapple. Explored the grounds lots—including the lovely local dogs. The pool is a really nice touch

Excellent rural setting. Friendly hosts. Clean rooms and basic rooms (expected given that it's a farm stay). Close to other fruit farms. Love the setup of the villas. The small wade pool was a hit with the children.

Amazing historical building with beautiful courtyard area for breakfast. Although there are visitors touring throughout the day, the guest areas feel quite private and have a really nice relaxing area both out the front and back of the room (we had pool access room) Breakfast was delicious with many choices. Pool area was really relaxing and a nice escape area to cool down after a busy day. Everything was within walking distance. Staff were super friendly and helpful, parking was easy.

Stayed for 4 nights in April in a pool access room. Loved every minute of the stay. The people were welcoming and the room spacious and one thing I noticed were the towels were really good compared to most places. The breakfast was a mix of buffet style and a good selection of cooked options. The options changed every day. We did the tour which I enjoyed and loved the history. One tip, book your (grab) taxi from the Airport. They seem to charge a surcharge which is fine but just as easy to book your own.

Everything about The Blue Mansion is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! We stayed in the Escoy Room….. a huge room which is beautifully decorated and has garden and pool access. The breakfasts were delicious… the afternoon tea treats each day with their poignant messages so sweet. We were very sad to leave this incredible hotel

Such a brilliant stay!! I was blown away by the mansion, such wonderful accommodation. Originally there was a mix up with our booking, however the mansion contacted me months in advance to work it out, and we ended up staying in the Tjong Townhouse for 2 nights and the Han Triple Suite for another 2 nights, plus we were given a complimentary lunch for the trouble. The townhouse was lovely - so spacious and well equipped, and I loved the loft bedroom, it was really easy to keep cool and I didn't have any issues with sound despite the earplugs provided. The mansion also drove us to and from the townhouse whenever needed, including for breakfast when requested, though there was also the easy option to have packaged breakfast dropped off at the townhouse the night prior. We also really enjoyed the Han triple suite, it was comfortable and clean, and the mansion provided lovely little desserts each evening as a cute surprise. The bathroom was spacious and included a bathtub, plus the mansion has a gorgeous pool which we loved using. The cafe and restaurant attached to the mansion are also great, as is the provided breakfast at the mansion - lots of options at the buffet, as well as some meals to order.

We stayed 4 nights and from our arrival following a long-haul flight to our departure we had the best time and 100% would return again. We were looking for something different and staying at this heritage site certainly is a great experience. We enjoyed every aspect of the home of Cheong Fatt Tze and especially the staff who provided excellent hospitality. Special thanks to Jalal and team for wonderful customer service throughout our stay. The breakfasts are good and offer a daily buffet dish (the Nasi Lemak was tasty) and the making of noodle soup too, and breakfast includes set menu dishes to choose from and also a buffet fruit selection. Rooms and bathrooms are comfortable, clean and tidy, and spacious. Separate entranceway so guests can easily access outside courtyard and pleasant pool area. Informative and well delivered tour included in stay is recommended early on in your stay to better understand the background stories about the people and building. Staying at Cheong Fatt Tze is great example of a historic building still functioning in today’s world. Recommend if you’re looking for a unique experience.

The swimming pool was amazing being so huge with spa seats and spa pool. Plenty of space to enjoy the pool even during busy period. The staff went above and beyond, especially the concierge and security staff giving us additional help when needed without having to ask. They were extremely intuitive. Cleaning staff were very thorough and the room was amazing! The prompt reply and service when requested was wonderful! The meals at the Chef Wan restaurant in the hotel was mouth watering and unbelievably delicious. Worth every penny spent.

staff are so polite and welcoming. check in and check out process was smooth. room are spacious and clean. the ambience was so nice. pool so beautiful. its so relaxing to talk at night by the pool. food are delicious. option of breakfast buffet are a lot. the croissant is the best, so flaky and buttery. room view are superb. i can see sunrise and sunset evryday from the bed. its soooo good. there is a lot of restaurant nearby for lunch and dinner. overall, this resort are so beautiful.definitely will come again.

Easy check in, comfortable bed and clean room, our minibar not cold initially, less than 1 hour change to a new one, the swimming pool is wide, kids really loves it, kids club room also very enjoyable for my kids, n also widespread breakfast buffet.

The hotel is very excellent. Really recommended to everyone. The lobby and swimming pool is amazing and insta worthy. The room is great and new. Will come back for sure.

We loved having a two bedroom suite with a private pool. The breakfast was excellent and the staff service was fantastic.

Love that all the rooms in our 2-bedroom suite had marvelous views of the sea. Beds were extremely comfortable, bathrooms were luxurious with bathtubs, and we really enjoyed the pools. My kids absolutely enjoyed themselves in the family pool. Love the design of the pool with a wide ledge separating the kids pool and the longer lap pool.

The moment we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by the bellboy. no need to carry our own bags at all. While waiting to check in, we were served a welcome drink and a cool towel to freshen up. Such a nice touch! Then came the surprise a birthday cake and a fully decorated room! The view? Absolutely superb. Breakfast was amazing, with so many choices I didn’t even know what to eat first. Haha! There are two swimming pools. One’s on Level 1, perfect for families with kids. There’s a children’s pool and even a little indoor playground for them if they don’t feel like swimming. You don’t need to bring towels because they’re provided, and there are also three types of complimentary drinks by the pool. The other pool is on Level 3, right next to the breakfast cafe, perfect spot for a swim while watching the sunset. There’s also a super chill spot called the Jamboree Room. you can play snooker, ping pong, carrom, arcade games, and more. So much fun! The beach is clean and private, with plenty of things to do such as jet ski, banana boat, volleyball, even archery. Or if you just want to relax, there are lots of comfy spots to sit back and enjoy the beautiful sea view. The staff were all super friendly, especially Daniel William.. such a kind guy! Overall, you won’t regret staying here. Can’t wait to come back again someday! 🌴✨

We had a nice stay at Angsana in Jan 2025 in a 2br suite. Positives: Suite was large and well appointed, with comfy beds, price was reasonable, infinity pool was nice, beautiful view and F&B quality was excellent. Negatives: service was really slow at the F&B outlets (no criticism of individual staff who were lovely but there were insufficient staff / inefficient processes) resort doesn’t seem to be very well maintained with dirty / stained sun loungers, loose decking boards at pool, and we found the poolside area was not cleaned daily. Location was also a negative, there is nothing in Teluk Bahang really, so you end up in Batu Ferringhi each night for dining options. Also, the beach was dirty and swimming not recommended due to jellyfish. A stormwater drain emptied into the water right in front of the pool and we could see from our room it polluting the beach right in front of the hotel. Overall the resort was nice enough and we had a relaxing stay but it is not five star level in terms of service and maintenance of the resort, and the location means we wouldn’t return.

Overall it was a pleasant experience from the check in till check out process. The welcome drink came along with 2 towels (with EO?) ...pool experience was awesome and the rangers club has a lot of activities. Parents are allowed to be with the kids and independent kids can be dropped off at the club. Special thanks to Kak salmi and neesa for spending time with my kid and I could have a long and nice breakfast. Thanks to the poolside team too, or rahmat and other staff which I didn't get their names. Breakfast spread was awesome. Beef mutton was good!!! And their special fried chicken 🐔.. After a long pool session, we came back with a nice refreshing with the Eo setup during the night 🌃 Every staff are very friendly.. thanks to the banyan group for training the staff well.

We had a great time staying here. Love the private pool and the bath tub. I had wonderful time in the swimming pool .It was wonderful. All the staffs were helpful.. Would like to come again and will definitely suggest to my family and friends.

For those who have kids that love pool , small family of 4, must try once. Because they can enjoy the private pool all day long. Somemore have steam room and big bath tub. The best is the room come with 2 king size bed.

Beautiful hotel and very helpful staff members our room was lovely with a private pool. We tried both city view and Sea view. Both were great really helpful to have amenities within the hotel. We enjoyed the spa as well as the rooftop restaurant breakfast had a lot of variety which was great.

The room was beautiful, clean, esthetically pleasing, additional steam room and private pool made it even more special! Staff were amazing, food was good and the local area had everything needed. The other events/tours were accessible with a short taxi ride.

Our stay at Noordin Mews was outstanding in every way. The shared spaces of the old shophouse are exquisitely renovated and the modern rooms are squeaky clean, spacious and comfortable. The location is perfect, slightly removed from the tourist trap around Armenian Street, but close enough to the center to be able to walk everywhere. The neighborhood is actually quite hip, with plenty places to eat and have a drink. The cool Hin Bus Depot cultural center is just blocks away. The breakfast is delicious and there are new options every morning. The staff is absolutely great, and goes out of their way to make your stay special. They helped us book transfers to the airport, get tables at restaurants and gave us pro tips about where to go and what to do. The plunge pool is such a great perk in Penang's tropical climate. We travelled with two kids and they had a great time. I would highly recommend Noordin Mews. It's honestly one of the best, most genuine hotel experiences we've ever had.

The hotel is located on the fringe of Georgetown, and only a 10-min walk to the bus terminal at Komtar. The facade of the hotel was very unassuming, but when I opened the doors to the reception area, it felt like I had stepped into someone's tastefully furnished home, where I was greeted by 2 friendly and smiling Front Desk ladies. My 1st room (Rm F) was at the back end of the compound. It has a long-ish layout, and a dimly-lit bathroom, but the reason I asked to change room was that it was too near the kitchen which began operations at 7am (not so good for light sleepers like me). The manager, a very obliging and helpful Sherry changed me to Rm C, which had a better layout with a slightly better lit bathroom (although I wasn't too keen on the platform bed). As it's an enclosed compound, noises travel everywhere so it's best to bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper or late riser. I loved the lap pool (there're no sunbeds, but steps in the pool you can sit on to enjoy the rays), and especially the dining area next to the pool where I spent the hot afternoons just chilling out with my laptop & magazines. I never managed to wake up early enough for the complimentary b'fast (8-10am) but the a la carte menu looked inviting. The Front Desk and back office staff were very friendly and helpful, and were obliging with my every request, for which I'm so grateful. A big thank you to Belinda, Sherry, and the Front Desk ladies, and of course, Anung in the kitchen.

A lovely boutique hotel with old world charm. The staff were extremely lovely and attentive. Our every need was attended to without needing to ask for anything. Breakfast by the pool was charming. We had the Asian selection both days and it was delicious. We could use the pool until 10pm which was lovely after dinner and a walk. It was easy to get a Grab driver to take us anywhere in Georgetown.

It is very cosy, I counted 15 units and is easy for guests n staffs to interact.staffs fulfilled our request for ground floor unit with access to pool & allocate unit 'E' for us. The easy access to pool & lounge were great, and unit was cosy. Location to around places were well reached.

Not exactly salubrious area, so slightly concerned on arrival. Once the door opened onto the foyer, everything changed. Staff could not do enough....Daisy, Belinda, Sherry, to name but a few. Room well decorated in 'Peranakan' style antiques....scented oil/candles, small details such as local candies on the bed each night. Free drink on arrival. Good selection of breakfasts.....mix of European and Asian. Only negative was in 4 days, pool kept being subject to maintenance and only managed one afternoon of usage. Staff very apologetic, couldn't be helped, but a bit annoying when one has, in effect, paid for a hotel with a pool. That aside, would definitely recommend it. Also, very affordable street food stalls nearby, as was the bus station (free shuttle around Georgetown) and fairly easy walking distance to interesting buildings on the heritage trail.

East Indies Mansion was a very beautifully decorated & rustic hotel. Cosy, well maintained, very clean & spacious. It’s not your typical modern hotel with pool & gym/tv etc, but if you are looking for a unique experience - staying in a home away from your home - you should come to East Indies. There are many comfy cosy spots n sofas on the ground level u can lounge in on rainy days or days when u just wish to relax out of your room! The central kitchen has tea coffee n snacks u could help yourselves too & you can also bring back your own food & eat in the comfort of the hotel kitchen- almost like your own private dining area- v shiok! The people there - esp Aitee - were super friendly warm helpful & attentive to our needs :) Aitee would give recommendations on where we can go & was very fun to chat with :))) Location also was very near hot spots like Armenian street n nearby theres great food spots bingsu, ciao ice cream, spicy nasi lemak, durian carts, etc etc etc…

Rustic feel...once the glass door shut..you're in another world..yet nothing felt short of a commercial hotel..except pool... High ceiling a big plus..feels airy..nearby everything in GT...

A sanctuary that I loved coming home to each of the 4 nights I stayed. Located in Little India this provided a great base for exploring George Town and is near the bus station for those wishing to take the very cheap and frequent local buses around town or to the beach. So much is accessible on foot too as the streets are filled with cafes and historic points of interest or street art. This place was recently owned, restored and decorated by an artist and everywhere I looked there was a photo opportunity of either a vibrant piece of art, a tranquil courtyard or interesting retro furniture…some antiques too. Aesthetically it is beautiful and I made the day bed in the courtyard my special place every afternoon before hitting the streets again for more walking and dinner. I would always be greeted with a cold glass of water, a smile and the offer of green tea and cake for afternoon tea while I read through their abundant book and magazine collection on Penang past and present. The staff are lovely, warm people who were so helpful to me and my accommodation was a downstairs living room and a large upstairs bedroom and bathroom. I was not expecting 2 rooms so this was great value for money. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Stayed here with my partner for one night as we wanted a base to explore Georgetown from while on holiday in Penang. This little hotel was amazing! We were upgraded to a suite when we arrived which was lovely. It was based in a central location which enabled us to explore little India and surrounding streets. The rooms were well maintained and were very spacious. The only downside was that in our room we didn't have any coat hangers to hang up anything that you didn't want to get creased. There was no fridge but we were invited to use the fridge in the kitchen. A bottle of water was placed in the room and was filled whilst we were out during the day. While we were out during the afternoon one of the very helpful staff put lemon grass incense oil in our room to keep out the mosquitoes and they even put petals on our bed which was a nice touch. The house itself is beautiful inside with nice little seating areas dotted around. The staff are very friendly and helpful! You do need to put down a RM50 deposit for the room key which we had no problems getting back. We would definitely recommend this hotel to other couples looking to explore Georgetown.

A beautifully restored heritage house with 7 individual rooms grouped around a courtyard.The house is furnished as a home rather than a hotel, with nice artwork and nice pieces of furniture. It is shabby chic style. We had a standard room..very large room..only slight niggles were lack of bathroom shelving and hearing upstairs guests on the wooden floors. There is also a cat who meows at night. These are very small niggles which are more than compensated by the pleasure of staying in such a lovely building. The staff are very attentive and friendly, some 5 star touches, like providing us with glasses of ice cold water when returning to the hotel after a hot day out, lighting an oil burner early evening so the room smells lovely, putting lamps on, replacing water in the jug etc. The hotel arranged laundry at very reasonable prices and also our onward transport. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfasts were very good. The accommodation is ideally situated near a bus terminal, jetties, Little India and heritage areas. We had stayed in many hotels on our 2 month travels through Indonesia and Malaysia, this is the best accommodation of the trip. Wonderful stay. And must mention, Georgetown is a great place.

Andrea & Diana could not have been more hospitable or helpful. Diana gave us a maps of the city on arrival and spent 20minutes highlighting the landmarks and eateries worth visiting. Thanks to the hotels location, everything was a walk away. We didn't use a taxi once. The hotel is boutique so doesn't have the facilities a Mandarin Oriental would. There is no pool , no gym etc, but what there is plenty of charm. Breakfast was great, terrace bar was lovely. The room was very comfortable. We had considered the E&O previously, and went there for a drink one evening and are so, SO glad we stayed at the Campbell House. Special thanks also to Kumar at the front desk. His recommendations and boundless enthusiasm added to the experience!

The door of Campbell House is opening to a magical place. Until I stay there, I did not know the each room has different concept, different interior design. This is really a brilliant idea. I stayed in Collonial room, whole hotel design including my room was really spectacular. There is a middle floor library which is very cozy and comfortable for spending time. It’s location also perfect, walking distance to everywhere you would like to visit in George Town. I had chance to have lunch at Il Bacaro, restaurant inside the Campbell House, the service, taste of the food, stuff’s kindness was out of expectation, you should definitely try before you go back. One of the other thing that I loved most is the sustainability actions. There is no single used plastics in this hotel. They are placing shampoo, shower gel, conditioner and body lotion in refillable bottles and you are using from them. Special thanks to hotel for taking initiative in this such important topic. And for sure, special thank to Mr. Kumar who was incredibly helpful, was guided me for my tour, and answered kindly all my questions during my visit. Every hotel needs one Mr. Kumar who makes you feel at home. And special thanks to Mr. Lim also who made you feel like you are in secure place. He offered me a drink before I go to Penang Hill train in early morning to help me to wake up, really appreciated. Thank you for your kindness.

The antique decor of the rooms, the beatiful common spaces and the location of the Hotel. We were also lucky to have met Roberto and the lovely Nardya at the day of check in and Roberto gave us a little performance of the pully system to transport the Luggage to our rooms, a very charming welcome. All of the Front Desk -Mr. Kumar, Arvindh, Hema were really warm and extremely helpful, special thanks to Mr. Kumar for recommending local eating joints in the area ( China House for its cakes). Specially impressed with the L Occitaine products and i even bought a bottle of shampoo from the hotel itself. The Breakfast option are good with eggs to order as the main star. Mr. Veer of the restaurant provided us with cheese and juices on request. The Daily cakes/ desserts and the iced tea were little steps which go along way to make Campbell House so lovely. Highly recommend. Pro Tip- the chinese Dimsum stall opposite the hotel Tai Tong is a MUST visit for the best dimsums in Malaysia and the Revive Foot Reflexology massage place on the main road ( opposite Kashmir Restaurant) is brilliant for relaxing Thai foot.\/ head shoulder/ massage. Armenian Street, Green Mansion Love Lane all walkable by foot from the Hotel, no need for Grab cab.

We stayed three nights at this boutique hotel located in the centre of Penang’s Old. Town/Chinatown district. We stayed in the Peacock room on the first floor which was full of character. We had full breakfast twice and an evening meal once (which was ok but I think we chose badly given other reviews) Breakfast was great and we were even offered a breakfast takeaway on our third morning when we had to leave before the restaurant opened. Upon arrival we were told we had to remove shoes before we went upstairs because of religious beliefs. Strange given ownership was British/Italian!! Initially this felt unwelcome given the stairs and floors were all polished timber and we both felt in danger of slipping over. However we subsequently realised that wearing the supplied slippers really helps and most importantly if everyone wore shoes the noise levels would be intolerable! So actually taking shoes off is a very good idea! We especially enjoyed using the roof terrace and WiFi was good everywhere. Main bonus here is the staff who are lovely. Both on reception and within the restaurant. If you want to stay somewhere really authentic in the centre of the old town and within walking distance of everything you have to stay here!

We stayed in some super hotels on our trip but Campbell House was our favourite. A very warm welcome plus a cold drink and then very helpfully given a few maps and shown many areas of interest and possible dining options. Then shoes off and up to our room Songket. What a beautiful room. Tastefully and authentically decorated in the Malay style and a large modern bathroom with walk-in shower. Top quality toiletries too. Super king bed very comfortable. The room had a mini fridge containing a large bottle of filtered water plus a jug of juice - both replenished daily. Kettle with tea and coffee plus a Nespresso coffee machine. AC and wifi both worked well. If you can drag yourself away from the delights of Penang, the TV was smart and had Netflix etc. An excellent breakfast was taken in the hotel’s Il Bacaro restaurant, and was a La carte with plenty of choices to suit all tastes. This hotel is ideally placed to explore Georgetown/Penang. The owners clearly spent a lot of time restoring this grand old building to its former glory and did it with taste and style. In addition, the staff are all helpful and charming and I recommend it to you.

Stylish hotel well located by the Jetties. 5 min walk from ferry terminal. Easy walk to Jalan Armenian area and street art. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms spacious and good air conditioning. Beds comfy and good shower pressure. Pool is more a plunge pool style- peaceful and good to cool off. We had late teen/ 20s kids with us- not recommended for younger kids

Everything about this place is perfect. We loved it so much we extended our stay for another 2 days. The staff is the sweetest and so attentive, special thanks goes to the breakfast crew, they arranged us an early breakfast at 6:30 one day and the lady even offered to make us homemade juice ♥️ The pool has a spa mode and you get free towels any time you come to the pool. Breakfast is delicious with plenty of choices. The rooms are really clean, tap water is drinkable.

Really lovely hotel. Great location just across the road from the ferry, free bus and clan jetties. Everywhere in George Town walkable. Lovely breakfast buffet outside next to the pool - but undercover. The pool was small but great. Really friendly, helpful staff who let me check in early. The room was lovely and a good size for a single with a comfy double bed.

I paid extra upon arrival to get one of the few rooms with a balcony. I had a pool view and was on the quiet side of the hotel. Nice spacious room with comfortable king sized bed, a safe, and a bar fridge. The ac was good. Staff were excellent! I swam in the small pool every day. No complain

I love everything about the hotel so far, the location is great, easy access to eateries, within walking distance. Facilities are great, they provide iron, hair dryer, Netflix with big TV screen ,King size bed that is very comfy & soft pillow. Hi-Tech toilet seat with heater and complete toiletries. U can find Starbuck, Subway, Krispy Kreme Donut, Tealive, BaskBear, Coffee Bean, KFC, MCD, 4 Fingers, 7-11 and lots more within walking distance. If u want local food, u can also go for Food Panda or Grab for nasi kandar.

Room - spacious, equipped with smart toilet which is hygiene as I don't have to flip bowl cover, and also it flush by itself. All room has windows. Best TV channel selection ever with the availability of the Netflix. A lot good lighting which lighten up the room. Good wood flooring, which is not cold to step on. Parking - free and a lot of space in front of hotel.

Location-was at RNR, which very near to many restaurant like Tealive, Krispy Kreme, Kfc, etc2..everything is walking distance. Seven 11 is next door only. Staff was friendly. Checkin and out was a breeze. Room-super clean and comfortable, bed was huge and modern. Even the toilet is automated, with heating and stuff. Shower drain was clogged, but the housekeeping was quick to action on it.

It was really clean and comfy room. Just stay for 1 day but I wish to stay longer because the it was really comfortable. The bathroom is super clean too. I love the bed the most because it’s too comfortable that you just want to stay there for long time.

Superb fittings, sound proofing, digital toilet, auto curtain, plenty of usb and plugs points. Most comfy beds and pillows I've slept on in a hotel. 7 Eleven and other eateries within minutes. Superb value for money. Rineeta at the reception did a great job checking us in and out.

This is a charming hotel with a lot of character. A real bonus after a day of exploring Georgetown in the heat is a dip in the swimming pool. The staff were all so helpful and friendly. The buffet breakfast was varied and tasty. Our room was a bit small but I was able to do yoga on an artificial grassy patch overlooking the pool.

Lovely spacious rooms and bathroom overlooking the pool (a few steps away). The pool itself was lovely with nice comfy sunbeds plus seating.

This is a very good hotel well located in the heart of Georgetown, close to all the sites. We did not find it noisy as some have commented. It is a heritage property which has its great charms and also some limitations. The rooms are comfortable with air-conditioning, but quite small. There is a very welcome pool. And the restaurant provides a decent breakfast. There are not many places to sit together as a family in the evenings, as the pool area is locked at 7pm.

The rooms were clean and mostly comfortable, aircons worked well and staff were lovely!!! The pool was a nice temperature, and while the pool was broken for a couple days, it was fixed quite quickly. Front of the hotel was also very pretty.

Great heritage hotel in a brilliant position. Rooms are comfortable, tea and coffee, ventilation, good bathroom, and great bed. The general ambience is wonderful and you can sit just outside soaking up the sunshine and history while having a drink. There's a swimming pool, which we used everyday and we decided to eat our breakfast outside although there is an aircon restaurant attached to the hotel. The only slight downside is some nights there was very loud music on until the early hours of the next morning as penang must of relaxed it's laws. But the best thing about the hotel are the staff... Especially Yo who is amazing and so kind and Harry Potter who was very caring and professional. Thankyou to all the staff. On another note you can get very cheap local buses all over the island, the hotel can arrange a taxi and the fare from the airport is now fixed so it's easy for transportation. There's proper and very good street food if you turn left from the hotel to the next block and there's loads of trendy western places too.

We enjoyed our 3 nights stay at the seaview premium 2- bedroom very much. Spacious rooms with ensuite bathrooms and beautiful sea views and full facilities including kitchen and washing machine. Very comfortable beds. Very quiet at night which means good soundproof. Fast and efficient customer services including daily cleaning and when we called to ask for items. The buffet breakfast has a great variety of selections. There are 2 separate pools - one for kids with slides, the other one is the infinity pool. Both are of decent sizes. There is a table tennis table next to the pool that we were able to enjoy during a rainy day.

Our stay at Ascott Gurney Hotel Penang was truly amazing and memorable. It was my first birthday trip with my wife and our one-year-old daughter, and the hotel made it extra special. All of my special requests were fulfilled perfectly — the room was beautifully decorated with balloons, and we were surprised with a complimentary slice of birthday cake complete with warm wishes. Our daughter absolutely loved the kids’ room, and the kids’ pool was the highlight of our stay. It was the first time she experienced being gentle and comfortable in the water, and she couldn’t get enough of the little pool slide. That alone makes us want to come back for our next staycation! The breakfast buffet was exceptional, offering such a wide variety that I felt I had to try everything. The room was spacious and well-maintained, and the bed was so comfortable that I had one of the best deep sleeps I’ve had in a long time. Thank you to the Ascott Gurney team for such thoughtful hospitality — we look forward to returning soon!

Met by porters on arrival who took our bags, the reception was 24/7 so there was always someone to greet you on arrival. Rooms very spacious, big begs and small basic kitchen area. The pool & gym was great with a bar on the rooftop and pool towels available to use. Laundry service or self-service laundry is available in the hotel. Breakfast was not included we paid for it one of the mornings with lots of variety of foods from all over the world. Cafes close by with good breakfast also. Really enjoyed our stay, and would stay again.

Located at a very convenient location on Gurney Drive, the room we got was incredibly spacious and comfortable. The room was very clean and it comes with a filtered water tap which is always a plus in Malaysia. We had an incredible view of the sea from the room and also from the infinity pool. The bartender at the poolside bar was very attentive and made THE BEST cocktails. This will definitely be my go-to hotel when staying in Penang.

Beautiful sunsets. Rooms themselves very nice and great service from the staff. For the price I think it’s a great place to stay and you’re near all the attractions of George Town. The breakfast is great and there is a complementary cocktail and canapé hour from 6-7pm which we enjoyed. To clarify: the Heritage wing rooms are in the older part of the hotel and give you access to the heritage pool and the Cornwallis Lounge. You can also use your key card to access the Victory annex pool/planters lounge. The Victory Annex rooms are in the newer part of the hotel and give you access to the Infinity Pool but NOT the heritage pool or Cornwallis lounge I believe. However both are lovely areas and the victory annex is newer and some are of the internal areas are a little less “tired” than in the heritage wing.

The hotel has charm and character. The breakfast was extensive so many choices from around the world. Our room was amazing, comfortable, spacious and clean. We really enjoyed the pool and the pool deck. Views are lovely. Drinks and food Service by pool excellent. Hotel is in a great location. A great choice and would definitely recommend.

Its lovely but note: - very little information is given at check in about bars/facilities/features of the hotel - the victory suites do not allow access to the heritage pool, nor access to the club suite, none of which was intimated anywhere when booking nor on the hotel's own website/literature. We asked to upgrade when we found this and got a flat refusal - the victory pool while lovely has steps into it the last one being about 18 2 feet abovethe pool floor. If you are elderly or got good on your feet, you will struggle - some areas could do with TLC, e.g the wondows in Planters Bar needed a wash and the outside tables were grubby

I had read some mixed reviews about this legendary property but it’s been one which has always intrigued me…so I bit the bullet. And that bullet exploded in a cornucopia of elegance, luxury and old world charm. The hotel has been restored wonderfully and unlike many of this type of property, doesn’t feel “dusty”. The public areas are full of interesting artefacts and information. Now my room…large. Spotless. Perfectly curated. A seaside balcony allowed for fresh tropical air, and a ceiling fan makes a wonderful chant (don’t worry…the aircon is there too! The claw bath is a feature if you wish to indulge and the bathroom ammenities, robes and sarongs are thoughtful. Breakfast is definitely one of the best in a very long time and the buffet is well maintained with almost everything you could think of. The pool area is serene and larger. Lots of greenery around which provides a lush backdrop as you look over the infinity pool into the ocean. Would I come back. In a heartbeat! One thing to note…there are two lobby areas which are a distance apart. I was in the Victory Annex which you access from the beachside. The Heritage wing is accessed from the main front entrance.

A classic charming hotel, has a lot of characters. The room is big, has a balcony facing the sea. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was huge, it had 2 vanities. The location was good. A lot of restaurants close by, and walking distance to the heritage areas. We had BF each day on the patio facing the sea, enjoyed both food and scenery. The pool was infinite pool, nice to cool down and take photos, but can be windy. We had some issues in our room, the hotel manager dealt it quickly and professionally. I have no hesitation to recommend this hotel. Wanted to add that the streets walking to the heritage areas was not easy to walk on, very narrow and often you share the roads with cars. This has nothing to do with the hotel, but just the information I wish I knew beforehand.

The room was perfect - spacious and comfortable - and they let us check in early. The pool area is great with nice views and there are laundry facilities on the same floor so we could do our washing while using the pool. Staff were so friendly and helpful.

This place is amazing, the pool is beautiful, a little bit small but amazing with great views of Penang, it's essentially an infinity pool. The room was spotless and the beds were so comfortable, shower was also great water pressure and bathroom was spacious and well designed. Room cleaning every day which was great and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here again if I'm back in the area. Really really good value for money and only about a 20 minute walk from Straits Quay. Only negative was the breakfast, the queue was really slow and tedious. It's 2 pastries and a drink per person, which are very delicious, but be prepared to queue for up to 30 minutes if you want breakfast, not worth it in my opinion.

I believed the hotel rooms and amenities are designed with customer orientated, cleanliness and safety measure in mind (there are 2 AEDs I seen, one in lobby, one near swimming pool). Spotlessly clean high quality utensils, coffee& cookies prepared in the lobby, and easily accesible towels in swimming pool shows the management paid attention to small details like that . The details and quality of comfort provided surpassed many 3 stars hotel available of similar room charges. I had a great stay here. Keep up the great work!

I cant say enough good things about this hotel. As a brand new hotel everything was absolutely perfect The bed was deliciously comfy, the room quiet and clean, the shower hot. It was wonderful to have a little kitchenette in my room which allowed me to store some food. I didn't get a chance to use the pool or gym but they look amazing, there is also laundry facilities which makes doing laundry fast and easy! But more this I have to send a huge shout out to Derek and his staff who went over and above to help me with an unexpected surgery. Not only did they put my booking on hold so I could use it after my surgery, but they checked in on my regularly and sent me their well wishes daily. Derek is very knowledgeable and helpful and he and his staff will do anything for their guests. I definitely will be back. Thank you to the whole team!

Everything at The Citadines was great, but what made it exceptional was Derek and the team he has put together. Always greated warmly at the door and throughout the hotel. Always ready to help with any request. Derek takes a personal interest in his guests. Very rarely do I meet the manager of a mid sized hotel, and if so, it is because of a problem. Derek likes to meet everyone and help make everyone's stay a memorable one. We really did love everything. Room size was good. It was clean comfortable, everything you need was provided in the kitchenette. Pool and gym well maintained. New washer and dryer on the premises. Views are spectacular both mountain side and oceanside. We had a great stay (one month, extended twice) and will be back. Thank you to everyone at The Citadines!

Service: The staff was so friendly and helpful. They were quick to greet me every time I entered the building, and held doors open for me. Breakfast buffet: There was a situation where the watermelon at the breakfast buffet had gone a bit sour, and the staff were proactive to seek out the tables that had taken watermelon and gave us a fresh plate of fruit. Pool: I loved the pool experience. Clean and the it being a salt water pool was such a lovely surprise! Also appreciated that there were many cubicles and showers next to the pool. Rooms: My absolutely favourite thing were the beds. I can't believe how comfy they were. Another design feature that I loved was that the shower faucet was away from the shower heads, ensuring that I wouldn't HAVE to be caught in the cold water whilst waiting for the water temperature to increase. Will definitely 100% come and stay again!

The view from our room was amazing — I could watch my child playing in the pool while enjoying the sea view from above. A big thank you to Mr. Alfizan, the bellman, for being so helpful with our luggage, and to the Chinese housekeeping lady (Level 2 near the kids’ pool) for reminding us to keep the balcony closed when the cute monkeys came around — such thoughtful service! The complimentary birthday cake for my wife was a lovely surprise and made our stay extra special. Breakfast was excellent with many delicious choices, our room was clean and cool, and the whole resort had such a warm, family-friendly atmosphere. Wonderful resort with great breakfast, three restaurants and lovely swimming pools. Perfect place to relax with style. Courteous staff and good food. We came as a couple and had a lovely stay on this five star resort. The apartment is with beach view which I recommend and there are many water sports available even though we are not taking these options. There are many families but pool is separate so our pool was very nice and not so busy. Breakfast has lots of local options and eastern food as well

Location by the beach, excellent restaurants, very nice staff at restaurants front desk and pool bar. Staff made us feel welcomed. Wonderful pool and pool bars. We had a beautiful fire works one of our nights. Everything you would expect from a five star resort

Everything! Front desk during check in was excellent. I’m travelling with young kids so safety is my main priority, lifeguard at the pool area did caught my eye. My son fell down at the pool area and the attendant at the towel station helped to treat his scratches on the knee. Breakfast buffet spread is good. The kids had much fun at the swimming pool and beach. Can’t wait to come back again!

Honestly this is the best hotel. Rooms were fantastic, the staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. Shah and Natasha took us to play pool locally, Fauzi and his twin brother were amazing, especially to our twins. Faris gave lots of nature tips. Lechumi gave me a wonderful massage and advice regarding my bites. Mostafa looked after our rooms brilliantly, replenishing water and toiletries and making towel art for our twins. We spoke to Edward the manager who was lovely and knowledgeable. Yes breakfast could get busy but we were there most days around 8.30am and didn't need to queue. The pools were great and even if busy were still accessible. Bus stops are right outside to get to Georgetown, Escape or Entopia. We had road facing rooms on 7th floor and were not bothered by noise at all. Thanks to everyone for helping to make amazing memories and we definitely hope to return.

Beautiful room in a lovely hotel. Just the right size/number of guests. Nice looking plunge pool. Great part of town. It was nice to have the Red hawker center just around the corner. The staff were kind and welcoming.

From start to finish our stay at the Muntri Grove Hotel was fantastic. The staff were wonderful at check in and provided us with a welcome pot of tea in our lovely room. The room itself was fantastic - almost a suite! Very large, it has a sitting area at one end of the room with a day bed, TV and desk, and the beautiful modern four poster bed at the other end of the room, with a separate shower and toilet in between (sounds a bit of a weird layout, but it works!). The aircon and wifi worked well (almost too well in the aircons case!), and the housekeeping and turndown services were very good. The only negative about the room is the noise, which did not bother my partner and I. However if you are a light sleeper, the live music from a nearby bar, the call to prayer in the evenings and morning, and the school nearby may be an issue for you. The breakfast was lovely, substantial and cooked to order, enjoyed next to the pool in a shady area with fans. The pool was divine- not large, but big enough to do a couple of laps, and clean and well kept. All of the facilities were fantastic. The location is fantastic - set just back from Muntri Street, one of the lovely old streets in the area, and just around the corner from the Blue Mansion, and a stones throw from lots of bars, restaurants and night markets. We found it a great base to explore Georgetown’s UNESCO area and buffer area from, and a lovely refuge from the heat of the afternoon. 10/10, would stay again!

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Muntri Grove. I was there for an event, and it was near, but not on, a list provided of recommended hotels in George Town's historic district near the event, but from what I could gather, it was both more affordable and probably superior to the ones that were recommended! We were greeted by a very friendly staff member on check-in, and found the room to be great. It was spacious, with a wonderful high ceiling and ceiling fan and just a wonderful design in a classic old building. The small pool was nice, and on the weekend we were served a poolside "high tea" with local pastries. The only downside for some visitors might be a nearby club that plays very loud music late at night, which I had seen mentioned in a few reviews, though it didn't bother us enough to matter. We'd definitely stay here again!

We loved Muntri grove! The perfect Penang vibe. Rooms were nice and cool in the hot weather. It felt authentic to be in this type of colonial building, but add a beautiful pool! The staff were able to answer all questions. Lots of local food around. Everything is very clean! There is a kitchen area by the pool area but no food was served except a quick Saturday tea time. You will hear local karaoke/shows on the weekend nights FYI, but not overly loud, added to a cheerful vibe! Did not keep us from sleeping. We would definitely return here!

The location of this hotel is very central to many, many local popular food stalls. They're walking distant away. This saved us a lot of stress. Even though there's no laundry facility in this hotel, there's a laundry shop nearby. It's within 10 minutes walking distance. So you can visit the city with a small luggage. Checkin was fast and the stuff was helpful. We were offered welcome drinks while waiting. It is located in the heart of the city, and the fact that they want to maintain the heritage theme of the hotel, sound proofing may not something they can control. To workaround this, they provide free earplugs upon requests. I dont think they have ventilation fan in the bathroom. We cracked the bathroom window open, turned on the ceiling and AC to create an airflow, which ventilated the bathroom. Free Wi-Fi is provided. Signal was strong and steady. The lighting in the rooms was a little bit dim. It feels romantic and cozy. This is to keep in line with the heritage theme of the hotel, i was told by the front desk. However, this can be a little bit challenging when you shave or put on your makeup. There's no gym in the hotel, so make sure you walk a lot to burn off the calories of your food intake. There's a restaurant in the hotel. If your room is close to it, it can be somewhat noisy from the clanking of dining wares and utensils (from 6am). All and all, I think it's a pretty good 4-star hotel.

All staff was helpful. Location was central. Room was decently clean and size is generous for their smallest room. Walking distance to many popular food stalls. We didnt request for room cleaning during our stay (ie. More than 1 week) , but when we asked for toilet paper, towel, bottled drinking water, coffee, etc, the staff was quick to provide. However, they dont have any shaver. Make sure you bring some yourselves. The hotel doesn't have a laundry facility, but you can walk to a 24-hour, self service laundry shop about 10 minutes away. Due to its central location in the city, near a main junction and a banquet hall, it can be very noisy, especially on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The hotel does acknowledges this and provide free ear plugs upon requested. Our room was on the 2nd floor and away from the banquet hall (but you can still hear the traffic if you have the window opened), so we didnt have any trouble sleeping. They provide free afternoon tea.

Areca is quirky and charming, featuring a welcoming indoor garden. The rooms are comfortable and compact, and there’s a lift for added convenience. The staff is what makes this hotel 10/10. The restaurant staff—Afi, Ika, and Yahfiz—are exceptional. Afi and Ika's cooking is wonderful, creating delicious dishes, with Afi’s banana bread being a particular standout. Yahfiz for his warm hospitality that makes every guest feel valued. At the front desk, Nazrin is truly amazing making the checkin a breeze and being so accommodating, while Fazreen consistently goes out of his way to assist whenever you need help. Breakfast offers a delightful mix of Malaysian dishes alongside a decent western selection. The complimentary afternoon tea is a treat, with different local delicacies served daily. Refreshing lemon water is always available to quench your thirst, especially after a day of exploring nearby attractions. Located in the heart of Georgetown, Areca is highly recommended for your visit.

Our experience was more about the staff than the property although it was excellent as well. The team were very helpful and respectful. One of us also had some additional medical needs which needed accommodating and this was handled with no fuss. It is very hard for us to travel because of this so this was very much appreciated. Yes, you can hear the call to prayer on and off throughout the day… but that just added to the ambiance of visiting another country…. And the hotel offers free earplugs if it’s an issue but it really wasn’t that loud- or that long…. So if that’s a reason for you to choose somewhere else, I’d think again. This hotel is worth a visit…. Mostly for the people, though our room was pretty charming with its heritage feel as well!

From the moment we arrived, which was around 11pm as our flight was delayed the night desk staff were welcoming and helpful. The hotel was unusual and quirky with many sitting areas and bright open feel. Children’s play rooms. Our room was huge with three areas; bathroom, bedroom and another with enough space for 2 bags and lots of hanging area, also the kettle. The front desk staff actually all the staff were helpful and happy. The hotel position was great. After our half day tour, my sister and I walked to Cannon Street, took a Pedicab to Red Garden Food Paradise and walked back to the hotel after dark. We felt safe. Highly Recommend.

The furry staffs aka the cats! Although one of the furry staff just sleeping on my last day at the hotel. The interior of the hotel was unique. The front desk is located on the right side of the hotel. I like that there's umbrella for the guest to borrow from the front desk. The check in staff were kind. When I check out on the next day, it's another staff and that staff is strong for carrying my luggage like it's nothing 😍. The room was comfortable. The snug heavy bedding was great, I love it. There's small long window in the room and I like that window as I can see some of the Penang city view. The toiletries was nicely arranged on the wooden tray. There's also QR code to WhatsApp chat with the hotel staff if there's any problems. I'm dumbfounded by the fact that the huge mirror on the wall is the toilet door 🤯. There's blind curtain outside the toilet and it's remote controlled 🙈. There's Coway water filter and shared fridge right in front of the lift on my room level. I checked out at 12pm and I stored my luggage till 6pm. That evening I was stuck at the hotel lobby during a sudden heavy downpour so I just sit on the lobby waiting for the rain to subsided. Thank you so much Mokozoyo Hotel and the staffs for everything. Hopefully I can come back to Penang and stay at here again.

This hotel is so new, they are still completing some renovations. That being said, i barely noticed it at all as the majority of my stay was quiet. I appreciated that everything felt new and clean. The staff are so kind. I wasn’t feeling well and everyone I met had checked in on me. They would also do their best to give you recommendations on places to go and eat if needed. There is a laundromat steps from the hotel and great food options next door if you want to eat near the hotel. Even walking to the food stalls is all within 6-7 minute walk. If anything, grab rides are so cheap that it’s still convenient. The amenities are top notch and you can really tell they put a lot of thought into their decor and amenities. There’s even a water/snack station on every floor. I am so impressed with this hotel that I will definitely stay here when I come back to Penang, I’ll bring my friends too. If i had to nitpick at something, it would only be that the water in the shower took a bit longer to drain. Other than that, my stay was fantastic. I miss it already.

The room turned out to be much better than I expected though I personally did not fancy industrial theme when I first viewed the online photos. Booked the room based on positive feedback by customers. True enough, the room was very cosy & clean with quality towels & bath mat. The service by the staff was excellent. They were all very friendly & helpful in answering our queries. A plus for very good communal water dispenser which provided drinking water with options of cold, hot or room temperature. A communal fridge with allocated box for each room at the level is centrally placed besides the water dispenser. Overall, a very positive experience staying in this hotel & highly recommend those who wish to venture around nearby.

The hotel design as industrial style which featuring raw textures and look modern vibe. Room is stylish, clean and comfort but bit small. No bottle water provided inside the room but each floor can be found the Coway water dispenser at outside the lift and there is a sharing chiller with room number small box to store your beverages and also snack counter at beside to grabs for free. They also provide free car parks for hotel guest. Can explore lot local foods, unique cafe, shops at surrounded with walking distance. Overall i am satisfied for my stay and it worth the price.

I love this place SO SOOOO SOOOO MUCHH!!! When I stepped in inside the lobby (even though I think now it’s their cafe) I can’t stop but just admire everything. When I walked in inside my room, me and my husband just gasped and shocked with how beautiful the interior of our room is! It is minimalist and perfect. The pillow is soft and fluffy, the bed is just comfy. I love everything about this place. It is walking distance with all the place that I want to go.

The experience is delighted. I had an amazing stay in The Light! ! The day of check in my family arrived earlier than expected and we were kindly given a room without having to wait hours for it. Special shoutout to Guest Relations guy Mr. Yousuf were friendly and keen to help his way and recommended us level 3 Cili Kampung and show us Menu We had a wonderful time at their restaurant and the Shopping mall which is just a walking distance .The kids enjoyed the pool n the breakfast food was great and variety of dining Choices including in-room dining! Will sure come back again... The perfect place to relax.. Thumbs up to all the staffs 👍🏽👍🏽

The experience in the hotel can’t be better, the staff is amazing and the rooms extremely comfortable, it has a great gym and pool, cannot imagine my stays in Penang in a different place. All inclusive breakfast is fantastic and also level 3 restaurant/bar is a great place

Had a wonderful experience while staying there. Super clean room and the breakfast was amazing! Great facilities. My son enjoys playing at the swimming pool and playground. Definitely will repeat it again. I have no doubt to recommend it to everyone.

Fantastic hotel. Breakfast served buffet style with so many options, all delicious. Room was exquisite, clean and super comfortable with an amazing view with free upgrade when we arrived. Room service food also very tasty. Plenty of parking, which was free. Very courteous and attentive staff that really made it feel like a special/personal experience. Great pool and gym facilities. Extremely good 5 star experience.

Breakfast spread was excellent. Family suite room was great and comfortable. Food at Cili Kampung restaurant was better than expected, and managed to find something not too spicy for the kids - would be good to have a few more non-spicy options, but it wasn't too bad. Pool was clean, though a bit small.

It's one of the newest hotels in Georgetown so we decided to give this a try. Pros: Attentive service staff Cons: It's quite an open concept with a small lobby Toilet in the West Wing was choked (probably due to public access) There were no clear instructions on pool access and we had to come down to the lobby to access to the West Wing No evening turn-down service

This is our second stay at the Prestige and not only did it live up to our previous excellent experience, it exceeded it. The team are outstanding; from the welcome when you arrive through the whole stay. We spent two weeks at the hotel variously lounging by the excellent pool to exploring the island. They are super friendly and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. They are unobtrusive, but always there to assist if needed. The attention to detail and customer service by everyone from the housekeeping team, through front of house to the restaurant and pool teams are exemplary. The General Manager, Mr. Ooi, continues to innovate and keep the offering fresh and relevant and always seeks feedback and suggestions from guests. We have been visiting Penang for several years and can confidently say that since finding the Prestige, this is the only hotel we will stay at. We are already planning our next visit. If you are going to Penang, don't miss it.

I would come back just for the staff! Everyone was so welcoming from the moment we arrived! Even tho we arrived hours early for check in they had our room ready and welcomed us in. The room was clean full of complementary drinks and snacks. Being our honey moon they set up a lovely decoration and brownie for us to enjoy l. The pool was great with an amazing pool view and clean. Not to mention the great location to walk and see many of the local street art and enjoy delicious food.10/10 would come back again!

We have stayed three nights at the hotel, one of the best hotels we have traveled all over the world. The pool was heated and we enjoyed every morning swim, the view from the pool especially in the morning is divine. Everything in the hotel is classy, the room and bed were clean and very comfortable, the staff were kind and courteous, breakfast was very good.

Convenient location - a couple of convenience stores around, and a decent number of restaurants and cafes close by that one can easily walk to. Top level where the pool is, has a nice view in the evenings. Staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and amenities were clean. Pool is a nice addition along with the small gym. Finally, buffet breakfast of course ;) good range of food and drinks selection.
