Swim-up Rooms & Private Pools in Plakias

Absoluter Pluspunkt ist die Lage des Hotels an einem Berghang mit herrlichem Blick auf die Bucht von Plakias und das lybische Meer. Weiterer starker Pluspunkt ist die Ruhe, die insbesondere nach 22 Uhr herrschte und wesentlich zur Erholung beigetragen hat. Ferner sind hervorzuheben: die schöne Anlage mit Aparments und Studios im Wesentlichen aus Natursteinen und Holz, die sauberen, geräumigen Zimmer, der schöne Pool in Aussichtslage, der freundliche Service sowie die Nähe zu schönen Stränden (insb. Damnoni Beach), die mit dem Auto in wenigen Minuten erreichbar sind. Das Frühstücksbuffet war landestypisch nicht sehr reichhaltig, aber dem Preis ( 6 €) mehr als angemessen. Einziger Minuspunkt war das Abendessen, nicht wegen seiner Qualität, sondern wegen der geringen Auswahl; es gibt nur zwei Hauptgerichte. Es gibt aber gute Tavernen in Myrthios (ins. Panorama).

Spätsommer im Herbst, es ist Saisonausklang, nur wenige Reisende sind unterwegs, eine Stimmung, die dem kleinen Bergdorf gut steht. Das Hotel mit seinen ineinander verschachtelten Appartements hat nur wenige Gäste zu der Zeit, man kann die Ruhe und weite Aussicht über die Bucht von Plakias genießen und im Sonnenschein im Pool baden. Auf der Terrasse reifen die Orangen und rund um werden die Oliven geerntet. Eine Ideale Zeit die Insel auf eigene Faust zu erkunden, wozu die Lage der Unterkunft gut geeignet ist. Zumindest in die mittleren und südlichen Regionen sind Tagesausflüge mit dem Leihwagen leicht zu bewältigen, wenn man sich an die schmalen Straßen und Serpentinen gewöhnt hat und sich auf Ziegenherden und Steinschlag an den Berghängen eingestellt hat. Es gibt so viel zu sehen, dass eine Woche schnell zu kurz wird. Im Herbst ist auch das Wanderwetter ideal aber man muss damit rechnen, dass organisierte Touren nicht mehr angeboten werden, so dass man nicht alle Schluchten durchstreifen kann. Und am Abend gibt es zur Stärkung ein vorzügliches Essen in der Dorftaverne 'Dionyssos', wo in familiärer Atmosphäre nach Landesart gekocht und serviert wird und Gastfreundschaft, wie überall auf der Insel, einen hohen Wert hat. Ein idealer Ort für eine entspannte spätsommerliche Herbstwoche!

Sehr netter Empfang (in deutscher Sprache). Bei der Übergabe des Zimmers wurden wir auf diverse Verbote wie z.B.: Papier nicht in die Toilette werfen oder für den Strand kostenpflichtige Handtücher zu verwenden etc. Parkplätze sind zwar vorhanden aber nicht in ausreichender Anzahl und so mussten wir manchmal in der Zufahrtsstrasse parken. Das bei Expedia angeführte Frühstück kostete letztlich nicht € 5,00 sondern € 8,00. Die Reparatur einer losen Kastentüre dauerte nach Meldung an der Rezeption 4 Tage. Die Freundlichkeit des Personals und vor allem die atemberaubende Lage, der sehr saubere Pool machten die kleinen Ärgernisse mehr als wett. Ich möchte gerne wieder einen Urlaub mit meiner Familie dort verbringen.

The location of the top of a hill it is challenging to reach but the views are worth the effort! The building is nice and well mantain. The rooms are spacious with breathtaking views. The breakfast is nothing special and not well organized. I felt that for the price you pay for your stay features such as parking or breakfast should be included. Staff except for one girl working in the pool bar, are not really welcoming.

My partner and I visited Stefanos Village in June 2014 and we were certainly not disappointed. Its not often that you stay somewhere and the accomodation photos from the website are exactly the same as the real thing. The views from the hotel are simply outstanding. Its a family run place that is quiet and tranquil and just off the main road. Just a few minutes walk from the village and close to all amenities. There's an abundance of beaches close by and the sun shone the whole time. The local restaurants are excellent and "Mama" at Stefanos' cooks the best Mousaka for miles!!! The surrounding area of the apartments is abundant with peach trees and roses and flowers, making the whole experience wonderful. The junior suite was fresh, tasteful and luxurious, completely spotless and cleaned daily with fresh linen and towels. I cant fault the service we were given, we were treated both personally and efficiently. They couldn't have done more to make us feel really truly welcome and we will definately return in the future.

This small group of apartments is brand new and finished to a very high standard. We stayed in the Deluxe Suite with a hot tub, one of two apartments at the front of the property, looking across the road towards the fantastic beach. The layout is well thought out and works really well. The entrance leads into a long galley kitchen on the right, equipped with everything you need. To the left is a good-sized bathroom with a lovely large walk-in shower. Beyond this is the large bedroom-cum-sitting room with a huge super king bed and a sofa. The open wardrobe is a stroke of genius, giving you far more room and featuring a full-length mirror! Outside is a lovely long patio with the hot tub, protected from the occasional Plakias wind!!!! All of the staff are extremely nice and helpful, making you feel welcome as soon as you arrive. We love this end of Plakias as it's a little quieter, has the best part of the beach, and is just a short walk into the main village. Altogether, it is highly recommended by us and we will be returning again very soon.

The room was perfectly equipped and very modern and comfortable. The hotel is a few steps away from the beach - the perfect location for exploring Plakias and the surrounding area. The staff were very friendly, and even accommodated our late check in at 1am, staying up to welcome us. The perfect stay.

Large, spotless, quiet room with excellent bed & shower plus a kitchenette. The rooms are directly across a small quiet road from the sandy beach. The owners run a taverna next door with delicious food. Reception staff incredibly helpful with good tips on places to visit.

Most beautiful, modern apartment right by the sea with everything we needed for our stay and more! Kindest staff (Jeanie, especially) helped us with recommendations! Super comfortable bed, rooms were cleaned every day. The beach by the property is breathtaking!

Very clean, modern well furnished with plenty of space and all the equipment you need. The owners , Mr Michalis and family made us feel most welcome and worked tirelessly to maintain/clean the property. An excellent stay. Great air conditioning during unseasonal hot spell and the plunge pool was well used. Ideal property for our trip with good restaurants and shops in Plakias.

Whilst as some mention this property is up a hill if it wasn't you wouldn't have such a great view of the bay from the balconies. It was still only a leisurely walk, which we did each morning to the local bakery/coffee shop and in the evenings to the range of restaurants and facilities. The house was immaculate and extremely well looked after and the hosts went beyond expectations to make us feel at home and they couldn't have been more accommodating. We had a lovely relaxing family time and the pool was just the right temperature throughout the day. It is also a great base to explore more of Crete we 'popped off' to Knossos and Heraklion for the day. Thank you also for the leaving gifts of Olive oil and beeswax

Beautiful recently renovated house. Even better than photos - more tasteful than expected. Very thoughtful design and touches: each bed had one soft and one hard pillow for example. Everything felt thoughtful and high quality. Comfortable beds, incredible views, lots of space, cute swimming pool. Great location, walking distance to loads of good restaurants, bakery, excellent supermarket, shops and beaches (if a steep walk!). Best of all the personal care and touches of the family, bringing fresh eggs, figs and donuts. We felt so welcome.

Stunning property, great location, very well equipped villa and wonderful hosts. The pool was perfect, spacious light clean rooms, nice balconies. Faultless experience.

Villa Pearl is located on a slope near the services of Plakias village. The apartment is within walking distance to the beach and restaurants. The apartment has beautiful views of the sea. The villa is beautifully decorated and really clean. It was cleaned once during our week's vacation and the towels and sheets were changed at the same time. It was a pleasant surprise, we did not expect this kind of service in villa accommodation. The villa had all the essentials and more! The host was really friendly and when we arrived at the villa, wine, raki, juice and other delicacies were waiting for us. Also when we left, we received their own olive oil as a gift. We have a rental car for the whole week and we used it to tour the beautiful nearby beaches. Plakias is a cute little village and there weren't too many people there. We liked the area much more than Chania.

Just perfect! We loved the privacy, the terrace, the pool, the calm, the view, the very modern, well equipped and spotlessly clean house in an excellent location: by car just 3 minutes to the beach of Souda with cristal clear water 💦 This is THE place for a relaxing and luxury holiday in the nature without being isolated. I am traveling a lot, both for business and pleasure. This is on of the best accommodations I have seen so far. Great architecture give you full privacy. At the same time you are not alone “in the wild”. Lots of usable and well furnished space. This place provides the full package: comply, absolutely clean, stunning views, just above one of the most beautiful beaches and close to charming. Image with lots of great places to enjoy traditional food… On top of all, this property is managed and maintained directly be the owners: an exceptionally enthusiastic couple who are genuinely enthusiastic about their place and deeply care that their guests enjoy their time at Metatulia. Whatever you need, just tell them (personally, via phone or WhatsApp) and they take care of it immediately. In a 5-Star Hotel this would be called concierge service! These hosts provide this level of service without any fuss. Obviously, they care!

We had a amazing time at Metatulia. Private house and near by beautiful beaches. Make sure you have a car to get around. The view is the best and takes your breath away! The owner is very friendly and makes sure that you get everything you need. He gave us great tips and sweet, Greek presents. The appartement is brand new with all the things you need. New towels and cleaning every three days. We just love our stay and had the best holiday ever!

Beautiful new villa with lovely views. Super clean and tidy and very nice design with high ceillings. The location is great, lovely beaches around and a good spot to explore Rethymno. The villa is very well equipped. A great host, very willing to help and give recommendations

We’ve stopped in 2 of these villas now and they were both outstanding. They are well appointed and exceptionally clean. The sea and mountain views are just magnificent. Highly recommended.

Perfect spot right next to the beach, lovely clear water and lots of rocks to snorkel around to the left hand side of the bay. Very spacious even though we had 4 adults and 4 children we never felt overcrowded. Lots of facilities in the kitchen and lovely welcome pack from the owners. Pool was very decent size and the electric canopies were a great source of shade. Very windy at times but when the wind drops it felt too hot so maybe the wind was needed. 10-15 mins walk to the lovely strip of restaurants and various supermarkets etc. about 1 hour 45 mins transfer from the airport over some very high mountain roads but glorious viewing. The owner and the house keeper were always quick to respond and very helpful both before and during our stay. Would highly recommend this property. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The villa has everything you need. We really enjoyed the pool and that it is very close to the beach. A max. 10min walk will bring you to restaurants, super markets, a bakery.

Great sea views from ground and balconies, and less than one minute walk to beach and beach bar. The villas are very spacious and well equipped, and everyone has their own bathroom. Sheltered from the wind.

This was just perfect place to be! New hotel with beautiful design. Perfect rooms, super nice and quiet pool area. Breakfast is great, served to the rooms at requested time. Located in perfect spot in the heart of plakias. Near by many beautiful beaches worth of visit! Stayed here with my wife, planned to be 7 nights but we didn't want to leave. Luckily we could extend our stay to 10 nights. The whole staff makes this place even more perfect. Everyone is super friendly, helpful & nice. Big thanks to Giorgios, Stefanos and Chara! Need to mention Giorgios and his kindness, helped us with everything before we arrived and during our stay. If there was something on our mind, he was always there to help us! We will come back again here for sure! 10/10

George und das gesamte Team sind super zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt in der Unterkunft sehr genossen. Die Zimmer sind sehr liebevoll/ modern eingerichtet. Der Zimmerservice inklusive Frühstück ist ein echtes Highlight und ein Garant für einen guten Start in den Tag. Der Außenbereich sowie die Poollandschaft des Hotels laden zum Verweilen ein. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt! Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen :)

Exklusives und stylisches Boutiquehotel im schönen Süden Kretas. Wir konnten ganz in Ruhe am Pool entspannen und abends problemlos innerhalb weniger Minuten zu Fuß diverse Restaurants erreichen. Perfekt!

Ein wirklich unglaublich schön und sehr modern eingerichtetes Hotel. Außerdem sehr nette und extrem zuvorkommende Mitarbeiter. Frühstück ist individuell zusammenstellbar und wird direkt aufs Zimmer bzw. auf die eigene Terrasse gebracht, Uhrzeit kann man hier ebenfalls selbst entscheiden. Alles insgesamt sehr sauber. Kosmetikprodukte waren so gut, dass ich mir für zuhause direkt eine Lotion eingekauft habe. Das Hotel ist der perfekte Ausgangspunkt für viele tolle Buchten, beeindruckende Schluchten und leckere Restaurants. Definitiv wieder und absolute Empfehlung!

Wir haben das Kymani als Ausgangspunkt für unseren Urlaub in Südkreta genutzt und haben diese Entscheidung auch zu keinem Zeitpunkt bereut. Das Team ist mega freundlich und zuvorkommend. Alles war mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Die herzliche aber dennoch zurückhaltende Freundlichkeit von George und seinem Team spiegelt die gesamte Atmosphäre von Plakias wieder. Wenn man einen schönen Rückzugsort mit einem Touch Luxus haben möchte, ist dieses Boutique-Hotel genau das Richtige!

amazing position, with stunning view of both sea and mountains. the house is fully equipped with anything you may need during your stay. the garden is nice, with a private pool under an olive tree, a bbq and table& chairs. plus, it’s a green building as electricity is provided by solar energy from photovoltaic panels on the roof! The host is extremely kind and helpful!

Ideal place for small families with young children. Our 2-year-old son had a lot of fun in the pool and in the garden with all the toys. Comfortable house with a beautiful view of the mountains. It was also nice to have good WiFi and 2 TVs in the house. Wonderful villa owners who were nearby, so friendly, prompt, and helpful with everything. We had a really lovely stay and want to come again!

The views from the property were amazing. Beautiful mountains all around and also a view of the sea. A very relaxing and quiet location. We enjoyed using the pool ( and it was a bonus having an outdoor shower under the olive tree). The hosts were friendly and kind and responded quickly to any queries. Although the villa was in a quiet and private location, it was only about ¾mile from the village which had a very good taverna, a supermarket, shops and cafés.

Lovely quiet location within walking distance (if you are fit enough to get up and down steep hills) of tavernas a shops. Small pool but great for cooling off in. Comfortable bed. Ok cooking facilities and good outside BBQ. Stunning views.

Everything was great! From the beginning everything was nicely explained, there was even someone there who could in german with us just in case anything would be unclear, very good service! Also, the location is fantastic, you really are in the mountains of Crete where it is very quiet but still the village is only a quick stroll away. During the stay we always felt very welcome and cared for. We even found some gifts for our kids which they were very happy about. :-) We would definitely recommend this and hope to come back at some time in the future.

The villa is wonderful, nicely designed and fully-equipped, so many useful kitchen appliances, everything that you can have. Two coffee machines with prepared coffee, and so much more. We received warm welcome, hosts were waiting for us and showed us around. They prepared lovely amazing welcome basket and snacks for us, and brought us homemade traditional cake during the stay. There were so many small details in the house, like in 5 star hotels. There is also nice pool, terrace with sunbeds, outdoor bbq place, all ready for you to fully enjoy your stay. House is very spacious and perfectly suitable for bigger group of 6, since there are 3 big bedrooms with own bathroom. Location is also very convenient, close to authentic restaurants, supermarket, bakery. There is nice beach close by, and beautiful Damnoni beach just 5 min drive. You can get easily to other parts of island, since Plakias is somehow in the middle. Hosts are super friendly, helpful and we were amazed by their hospitality and kindness! Would def recommend to everyone, either for those who prefer chill vacation at the pool and beach or for those who wish to explore the island.

We loved our stay. It started with a personal welcome by Ledisa and her father and a generous welcome package. The house was very clean (and offers extra cleaning every 4th day) and well stocked with coffee, oil and basic spices, towels etc. The villa is in a quiet area in walkable distance from "downtown" Plakias with many restaurants, small shops, and the beach. We also loved the pool which is cleaned every day - and that even includes the terrace and the BBQ! But what made our stay really special was the personal and warm hospitality of the hosts - when our rental car wouldn't start, Ledisa and her dad organised a cable to restart the battery for us, and Ledisa's mother cooked us a delicious dessert which fed us for days! I highly recommend staying here.

Met the hosts at the villa who showed us around. Warm welcome with a fabulous hamper of goodies. Villa very clean and well equipped with all the essentials we needed for our holiday. Shops and restaurants just a few minutes walk down the hill. We loved the fact that it was close to the centre but yet quiet and away from it all. The teenagers loved the pool and had their own bathrooms in each room. Best to park your car in the car park down the hill. We should have booked an extra day for our first time in Plakias, Crete. The property was of an exceptionally high standard both in design, cleanliness and facilities offered. They had added all the extra amenities to ensure we had an amazing stay. Gift Basket upon arrival with local fruits, nuts and drinks. The kitchen was well stocked with both equipment and items for cleaning and cooking. The outdoor barbecue was a great option for cooking at home. We loved the pool area and the family enjoyed being close to the village centre for dining and shopping. Having 3 bathrooms was very helpful for a large family.

Villa in quiet location with beautiful views

Despite a delayed flight and collecting a hire car, the host was there in person to greet our family at 9.30pm local time. She ran through how to work all the facilities and showed us where everything was kept. The villa is clean, modern and very well equipped with everything you need. We were a family of 5 (3 x children under the age of 9) so we really appreciated all the small things e.g. pool towels, puzzles, games, washing pods and even inflatables for the pool!. A beautiful setting in a peaceful, tranquil setting. The host was incredibly helpful and friendly and really catered for our family. We loved the villa and will definitely be back.

The house is exactly as shown in the pictures. Extremely clean, fully equipped (the equipment is in perfect condition and of good brands). The pool is cleaned every morning (around 6 o'clock - for us, at the time when we usually drink coffee on the terrace, so it interfered a bit with our daily rhythm, but wasn't a problem) - cleaning the whole house once a week. The hostess Aggeliki is nice and helpful - thank you again for helping me after I got stung by a jellyfish! The surroundings of the house are a big plus, all among greenery and mountains, quiet and peaceful. The village of Lampini is small - we recommend the new mini market opposite the Aegean gas station, very well equipped (like a normal market, not touristy).

We loved everything about this place. The villa was in great condition and super clean. Everything looked almost new, the pool area was wonderful, the kitchen well equipped, and the bedrooms very nice and comfortable. The owners maintain the place them selves, and do a great job! Aggeliki (the owner) met us on arrival and showed us around the house. She was helpful with suggesting places to go. We drove various trips and enjoyed being away from the busy northern coast. They really went above and beyond by bringing homemade salad and treats. Can’t say enough good things about this place and the wonderful family running it.

The staff were absolutely wonderful. Everything in the house was spacious for our family of 12. There were 6 adults and 6 kids from ages 1-13. It was well set out with lots of different areas for us to relax. All the towels, linen, kitchen equipment was plentiful. The pool was fun and the garden was lovely

The villa was next door to the family's taverna and the food was excellent. The family were very helpful and friendly. The pool was very well maintained and cleaned daily. The villa was very clean and well equipped, beds were very comfortable. Beautiful scenery from all aspect of the villa and lovely walks from the villa to the gorge and waterfall and many more walks not that far away. Supermarket within walking distance.

Great villa for two families. Taverna serves excellent food and everything worked very well.

Indoors the villa is fully equipped, exceptionally clean and everything is of high quality. Outdoors you get an incredible yard, a great pool with outdoor showers and loungers and plenty of seating both in the yard and on the giant terrace. The premises is beautiful with green grass, flowers, apple and citrus trees, grapevines and even some strawberry plants. There's also a large private parking and a great BBQ area. The location is great if you're looking for access to both the north and southern shores. A 20 minute drive to great beaches in the south (for example Skinaria beach) and also the same driving time to Rethimno. Konstantinos is a great host! Very attentive and super friendly, super easy to communicate with. He left us welcome gifts including delicious wine and Raki made by his family!

Konstantinos and his family were very good hosts and have been available before and during our stay. They have been checking in regularly to see if everything was well and if we needed anything. We have been to several houses in Greece but this one has been the best one so far. Very clean, spacious, good kitchen and all the necessary equipment were available. The garden is really good and we loved spending time there, also enjoying the pool and the ping pong table. A big plus is also that they have moskito nets in all sleeping rooms. Furthermore, the furniture is new, the beds are comfortable and the air conditioning works perfectly. The house is very well located and you are flexible to reach many places in Crete. We can only recommend staying in Villa Amalia.

Everything. Konstantinos was a great host. He was available all the time. He made for us icecream surprise. The house was fully equiped. The pool was great but 1,60 m. depth. The house was 25 min distance frim Rethimno and 25 min from South beaches incl Preveli.

Im Anna Plakias fanden wir eine ruhige Unterkunft in Laufdistanz zum Strand und den Restaurants von Plakias. Sauber, regelmässig gereinigt. Leider war der Pool zu stark mit Chemikalien durchsetzt.

Super résidence d'appartements, seulement quelques apparts dans une vrai réussite architecturale. Gérant très sympa.

L'accueil à l'arrivée et au départ est inexistant, ce qui constitue un irritant majeur. Le reste est agréable.

Some might consider the distant seas vistas, mountains and gorge views, churches dotting the landscape, and the Tuscan style village winding its way around the hillside as ideal. We, however, had hoped for Minoan ruins atop at least one of the hillsides and would suggest that the village council consider their future construction. I must say, the Lappa Apartments host family were extremely kind and gracious even when my partner decided to use their glassware for Cretan crockery smashing practice. Nothing was too much trouble. Cat’ering manager Paddington was particularly welcoming and we enjoyed his clipped and concise conversation as he enthusiastically jumped from one task to the next. In short, Lappa Apartments was a wonderful place to spend time. Clean, spacious, stylish and with breathtaking views this is true value for money. Thank you to the family for making us so welcome and comfortable.

Beautiful spot, lovely welcoming atmosphere, old building converted into little apartments with a roof top terrace. Host, Sarah was wonderful, helpful and accommodating and has put heart and soul into her hotel. The area is steeped in history and there are lots of places to explore. My only regret was that I couldn’t stay longer. Also, to get the best out of a stay a car is needed to get around. All in all a great experience.

Lappa Apartments is such a beautiful place to stay with a breathtaking view of the region and mostly the loveliest host, Sarah; who takes care of everything and everyone and makes sure you have a heartwarming experience. The room really felt like « a Greek dream » with the colours and the light, very comfortable. The apartments are situated in a wonderful little village that will give your this authentic feeling and the region itself is gorgeous

The entire Lappa apartments complex is very beautiful and all the apartments are themed based and quite lovely. The host Sarah was amazing and helped us out with anything and everything. Everything was very clean and tidy, bed very comfortable. The terrace has an amazing view both during the day and the night sky during the evenings. Was also greeted by Paddington the cat and Lara the pup, they were very great company 😁

The building, and the room (I was in Antique) were completely charming, and situated in a beautiful mountain village. The views, especially from the roof terrace, are incredible. Owner Sara is brilliant; super friendly, helpful and approachable. This was a perfect, peaceful base, with an ideal central Cretan location for exploring the island. Make sure you eat at Taverna Archaia Lappa down the road!

Amazing hotel in an amazing location! We had a corner room with a beautiful view of the ocean on 2 sides. The room was spotlessly clean and had everything you need. There is a taverna downstairs, which is convenient for getting food after those long beach days. The room is very well sound insulated though - super quiet and peaceful when the door is closed. A beautiful beach is within a few minutes walk. Overall, we had an amazing stay at Gio-Ma. Would stay again next time we are in Plakias!

We had a perfect appartment, directly next to the sea. Wonderful views straight from our the bed, really terrific. Excellent balcony view. Direct located at the start of the walking street of Plakias. When you love snorkling, you're at one of the great spots immediately below as there are rocks. Very clean. All the comforts that you need for a stay and spacious enough for the two of us. The only place where they gave us two bed sheets from start (that's a little plus)

Perfect location to visit the nearby beaches. There is reserved parking. We also had a balcony from which you can enjoy the sea view. The room had a double bed + a single bed; balcony; private bathroom; AC; TV; wardrobe; small table; a kitchen with the possibility to cook. You can't hear noise from the outside.

The apartment was above the restaurant and the sea. It was big and had everything we needed to make our breakfast. The room was cleaned daily. We ate at the restaurant and the food/wine was brought up to our room, so we could eat outside on the balcony.

The place was very clean and tidy, very well equipped! Very nice location! The tavern at the end of the road (if you go the opposite direction from the direction of the middle of the town) was very lovely! Amazing food and very friendly staff!
