Tipografia do Conto helped make my stay in Porto absolutely perfect. With only 10 rooms, the hotel is small but it offers all the features you’d expect from a bigger hotel. There is a bar, staff is always on hand to help, and the back courtyard, garden and pool are lovely areas to relax in. I spent an afternoon in the pool with drinks brought to me from the bar. The breakfasts are also very good, with eggs cooked to order. The staff wants to make your stay perfect - the restaurant tips, must sees and helpful overview of Porto at check in were much appreciated. We loved the restaurant recommendations and tried places we otherwise wouldn’t have. The building is beautifully designed. Art, furniture and architecture all combine for a home away from home. The room (B4) was a good size with a balcony and great view. The bed was very comfortable and the room was pitch black at night, which I love. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat, and I wish there were hotels like this in every city.

Really unique. The public spaces are just so creative without the "gimmicky" stuff that looks like it came from an Instagram account. Really original. One of the breeze-way sections on the main floor really lets the rain fall to the ground in the center of the hotel. The pool area is beautiful day and night. A great secluded area for gathering or relaxation. Our room was one of the smaller ones in the hotel, but looked over the oasis and pool and was beautiful. The staff all but planned our driving excursion through the Duoro valley, marking a map with stops along the way. Our 4 am departure from the hotel also went perfectly with their planning and assistance. The breakfast: fresh squeeezed orange juice. I don't remember anything else after that. A great little hotel.

We had an amazing stay at Tipografia do Conto Hotel! From start to finish, the kindness of the staff made our visit truly special, especially Roberto, who was incredibly welcoming and gave us excellent advice that enhanced our experience in Porto. This boutique hotel is stunning—a perfect blend of vintage decor and modern architecture. Our apartment was incredibly spacious, impeccably clean, and beautifully decorated with thoughtful details, offering everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location is perfect—situated on a quiet street in the Cedofeita area but nevertheless very central, with Porto’s main attractions within walking distance. The hotel also features a lovely and relaxing garden with a small swimming pool, which looked so inviting! Unfortunately, the weather was too cold during our visit to try it out, so we’ll definitely have to come back in the warmer months to enjoy it fully. Breakfast was another highlight, with good options, including some delicious vegan choices. The lovely staff even prepared our favorite veggies when we arrived, which we really appreciated. Highly recommend this stylish gem for anyone visiting Porto!

This has to be the best find ever. We were coming to Portugal for a family wedding and arrived after a long travel and were met by incredibly welcoming staff. The whole checking in process was a breeze and then we were shown around the hotel. In the secluded garden, by the pool, a surprise awaited us in the form of family who had arrived for the wedding we were all going to and the staff had secreted them in the garden! Delicious drinks ensued and it was a great welcome. Our rooms were lovely with polished concrete and antiques - quirky and comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities. The en-suite bathroom and shower were a joy with lovely toiletries and towels. The hotel is beautiful and quirky with modern and old mixing beautifully. our breakfasts were fabulous and we even had those delicious Pasteis de Nata - yummy! The restaurant is not fully open but will be. I truly recommend this amazing hotel.

The staff was always friendly, attentive, and immediately available to assist with any questions or requests. The rooms are elegantly designed, providing a perfect blend of comfort and style. The hotel’s breakfast offers a delightful selection of fresh, local ingredients, catering to various tastes and dietary preferences. The location of the hotel is also ideal—centrally located yet slightly removed from the main tourist areas. It’s the perfect retreat for travelers seeking a unique experience, away from the usual tourist spots.

This is a great hotel! The location is amazing. The front desk staff is very helpful. The breakfast buffet has a great spread of options. The room was a little tight, but modern and clean. No noise and the beds/pillows were very comfortable. The private pool on the terrace was a great addition for PM turndown. Its pretty much a jacuzzi and feels amazing on the body after all the walking each day, so I highly recommend this room! I would 100% stay here again.

Lovely boutique hotel in the heart of Porto. Walking distance to everything - bring comfortable walking shoes !! The hotel provided a tranquil haven to return to after a hot day on your feet. Lovely courtyard at the back of the hotel for a drink & snack with a cool plunge pool to cool down in. Sitting with a glass of something in the courtyard takes you away from the Porto bustle.

The Catalonia Porto hotel is truly a beautiful gem of a hotel. The accommodation feels premium with lovely spaces to relax both indoors and outdoors with attention to detail in the relaxed and calm interior and exterior areas. The pool area and outdoor terrace is a quiet haven to relax and take a dip after a day on your feet. Our room was clean and comfortable, we stayed in a double room with terrace. I would say it's deffinitely worth getting a room with some outdoor space either a terracce or garden option as the room would have felt a little on the small side without the balcony. The road outside can be a little noisy however if you close the balcony doors/windows you can't hear anything and there's A/C in the room so you can still maintain the temperature. Breakfast was delicious with many options to cater for all tastes including continental, English style; bacon, eggs, beans etc and a chef on hand to rustle up omelette's or waffles amongst other things. We enjoyed a couples massage which was very relaxing and professional and very reasonably priced. I also spent some time in the spa which has a fee of €8 per hour per person and consists of an indoor pool, a sauna and some loungers to relax on. I only spent an hour in here, which is probably long enough. The hotel is within walking distance to all the main tourist areas but feels far enough out of the centre to relax and unwind. All staff were very friendly and helpful throughout out stay. Keep up the good work!

We’ve just spent six nights in the beautiful Catalonia Porto Hotel. Everything about this hotel is perfect. Check in was quick and reception staff always most professional and helpful. We felt secure as you need a room key to operate the lifts, there are adequate lifts and never a queue. Everywhere in the hotel was spotlessly clean and welcoming. Our superior room was spacious and comfortable and although it overlooked road, it was very peaceful and we had a good sleep in the comfortable beds. Our room was kept lovely and clean with nice fluffy towels, robes, slippers and excellent lighting. Breakfast was amazing, well done to all the breakfast staff, lots of choice, very fresh, we love the orange juice machine! All fresh food was regularly replenished and breakfast really set us up for the day. As we booked a superior room we were entitled to a daily spa visit, which was most welcome after walking around Porto all day. The massage jets in the indoor pool, cold ice if you want it and a sauna were refreshing. We used the outdoor pool every day, as did a few other guests but it is only for the brave in late September! The hotel is well located, within easy walking distance of the hop on hop off buses, the funicular railway and many restaurants and cafes. We ate in the hotel restaurant one evening and the food was delicious! We highly recommend the Catalonia Porto Hotel, a pleasant oasis in the middle of a very busy city, we couldn’t have made a better choice!

Hotel is in a really good location to get to what you need and Porto overall is very walkable. There is a really good supermarket a few minutes away and close to some bars and restaurants. Staff were really friendly and helpful including giving us food recommendations for restaurants and calling up for us to book. Room was clean, airy and spacious. We had a room with a terrace which unfortunately we didn’t get much chance to use as we seemed to get 3 bad days in the middle of glorious sunshine (never mind) which also meant we didn’t get the chance to use the outdoor pool but the setting seemed really nice. Breakfast is great with lots of choice. Drinks stations, hot food, pastries, continental, fruit and yoghurts etc with loads of granola choices and also an on demand egg or pancake station. The indoor ‘spa’ is bookable for €8 per hour and it’s a small indoor pool with a sauna. I tried it once and wouldn’t have gone back. But all seemed clean enough etc. A bottle of water is also provided upon arriving FOC. There is a tea and coffee station (no pods) in the room and the only small thing is that the biscuits are chargeable at about €1.50 for one.

We loved everything. Especially own private pool with view over the wine yards, delicious breakfasts and dinners in the main house and excellent wine tastings delivered by Sofia. Thank so much of this perfect wine experience.

The hotel's facilities are modern, impeccably clean, and seamlessly integrated into the stunning landscape. Our room, with its private pool, was simply breathtaking. It was without a doubt the greatest hotel room I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. It offers the perfect opportunity to relax, disconnect from the fast-paced rhythm of daily life, and simply unwind amidst beautiful surroundings. Photos do not do this place justice. The area is very beautiful and scenic. The hotel is basically in the middle of a vineyard. There are multiple common places to relax throughout the complex. The spa and pool areas are great. There is both and indoor and outdoor pool. My only complaint is that the food in the restaurant (for dinner) was terrible which is unfortunate because it is not clear if there are any nearby restaurants in the remote area where this hotel is located. I would definitely return here and stay more than one night. Nearby are Braga and Guimaraes which are well worth the visit. The drive to this area was also quite scenic.

We had an amazing stay. The area and the house are beauriful, with one of the best views in the world. The host ,Sebastio, was super friendly and helpful and made sure that we will have the best experience. Our kids loved the place and we all can't wait to go there again.

If you are searching for a comfortable and clean accommodation near the Porto city center with lovely interior, don't look any further. The b&b is a short walk away from the main bridge, the wine cellars, the old town on the other side of the river. We had the big room with pool view and it was very nicely decorated, had a comfortable bed, nice bathroom, a very! comfy couch, TV with EN channels, a fridge and a kettle. All new and clean. A great choice for longer stays (we stayed for about 10 days). The pool is great too, located on a cozy terrace. The owners serve a breakfast menu in the morning including some pastry sweet and salty, ham, cheese, jam and fruit and freshly squeezed orange juice. They will prepare the beverage of your choice (types of coffee/tea). What we loved were the owners though. They are so friendly, helpful and patient. They really try to make your stay amazing. You have all the privacy you need but they are constantly approachable. I highly recommend staying at this place and would be happy to stay here again. Big thanks for the good care.

The outside space was amazing! We arrived on a hot Festival weekend in Porto (which surprised us as we hadn’t known beforehand about it!). The streets were fun and busy and having this outdoor space to sit and cool off and have our drinks in the pool was fantastic - and well needed. We were a group of 3 ladies on our bi-annual girls trip and the room was large, 1 sofa bed, 1 king for 2 of us to share. Loved the decor and great to have air conditioning in the hot evenings whilst getting ready. Bruno and his family were absolutely lovely and so welcoming. Brit I was always around to offer a guide of where to go, places to see, eat! Lovely basic continual breakfast - Sundays “Gods bread” (like coconut brioche/pan-atone) and the coffee were my favourite! The accommodation was close enough to everything in the city but far enough away to enjoy its space. Thank Bruno and family for help making our girls weekend fabulous!

We choose this place as it is in the quieter Gaia side, and a short walk to the Pon Luis bridge, also a few mins walk to the metro, the street is unsuspecting, the door is nearly grand, when you enter the building is cleverly refurbished using many old features, the room is comfortable, the shower is good, water and WiFi provided, the breakfast area is small and has many of the old refurbished features, breakfast is fresh and very fine, there is a small terrace with a pool ( used it previously not this time) a suntrap and shelter Hidden gem

Bruno the host gave some great recommendations of places/areas to visit, giving us a map & showing us as soon as we arrived. We could also safely leave our luggage until it was time to check in as our flight was an early one. Lovely decor & a real bonus to have a refreshing dip in the pool! Would definitely stay here again.

Great location, beautiful room with extremely comfy bed, pool was perfect after day of exploring the city and the whole property was beautifully designed and spotless. Our apartment was very nice, clean, tidy, beautiful view from the top, swimming pool access - we didn´t use - it was not summer anymore but it was nice surprise to have this access, apartment is close to the beach - walking distance - 5 - 10 min, close to the local market - just accross the street, taxis are waiting just in front of the building, very helpful owner - Mr. Silva who takes care of his guests from their arrival to their departure - he was waiting for us at the airport, showed us local restaurants where to eat, showed us nice area where to make nice photos during the sun sets or sun rise, he whowed us the nearest beach that is very beautiful, quiet with some restaurants where it possible to eat and drink, peaceful places, Mr. Silva informed us about local transport possibilities, he is supportive, helpful, available on his mobile phone or whattsup - just in case his quests might need something, thank you very much for your kind help. Area is very safe, nice, clean, nice breakfast - free of charge - first morning just accross the road, Highly reccommended.

Suites O Foz is in a brilliant location, part of a beautiful area of Porto and super close to the beaches. The host is very friendly and helpful, and eager to help accommodate you however possible. The rooms are immaculately clean and there was a lovely cold bottle of water waiting for us on arrival, plus toiletries and tea making facilities. The hosts will wash your clothes and towels on request for no charge and hang them up for you to dry, and provide each guest with a breakfast voucher each day for the cafe across the road where you can have fresh juice, hot beverage and pastry/toastie of your choice. The icing on the cake is the roof top pool which is gently heated and provides a beautiful view of the Fox area and sunsets. The pool is perfect to relax in and the rooftop area has room for sun-loungers to sunbathe in peace without being overlooked by neighbouring buildings.

Everything! Staff, food, room with the private pool, sauna… 3 days at this place was the perfect start of our Portugal roadtrip. Incredibly peaceful, you forget where you are, no need to leave this amazing place during your stay.

Breakfast was a lovely buffet and there was plenty of choice. Our 5 year old absolutely loved the pancakes! The spa pool was open to families which is very unusual coming from the UK but it was the perfect spot for our daughter who preferred being in the indoor pool rather than the outdoor pool. The outdoor pool is in a beautiful spot and once the sun had been out for a few hours it was even warmer than the indoor pool! Lots of places to relax around the grounds of the hotel. The design of the hotel is stunning and very peaceful all around. We'll definitely be back.

We stayed at Quinta de Silvalde as a couple for six nights and absolutely loved it. The place is just beautiful! The architecture really stands out, it’s modern but still super cosy thanks to the light colors and the use of wood. The mix of modern and traditional touches, like the visible granite walls, makes it feel really special. You can tell that every little detail was carefully thought out. We stayed in one of the suites and it was amazing, loads of space, beautiful natural light, and an incredible view. It’s the kind of room you can happily enjoy even on a rainy day. The food was a real highlight, every meal felt like fine dining, with a new menu every day. We also loved the indoor pool and spa, perfect for relaxing after exploring. A big thank you to the lovely staff for being so friendly and welcoming, especially Ana and Miguel, they really made our stay extra special. The location is great too, only about 30 minutes from Porto by car. The nearby town isn’t great for walking (no sidewalks), so a car is handy, but Bolt and Uber are cheap and easy if you don’t want to drive. Everything was spotless, from the rooms to the rest of the hotel. We honestly had the best time and would 100% come back!

We had an amazing time at Quinta de Silvalde. The place is beautiful, mixing modern style with traditional charm. The setting is calm and relaxing, perfect to disconnect. Both pools were fantastic: the outdoor one and the indoor with spa, hammam and jacuzzi. We also enjoyed a wonderful couple’s massage, one of the highlights of our stay. The hotel is both pet and kid friendly, which makes it very convenient for families. The food and beverage team, led by Miguel, was excellent; very professional but also warm and friendly. We really appreciated the half-board option: delicious Portuguese dishes with a modern twist, and the comfort of just sitting down and being taken care of. Breakfast was also lovely, with Sandra making every morning extra pleasant thanks to her kindness. Great value for money, honestly, it rivals many 5-star hotels but with a much more personal and genuine service. We would definitely love to come back!

The morning breakfast chefs outdid themselves daily. It was the highlight of our stay to start our day with their sweets and specialties! Location was great. Super neighborhood restaurants. Plunge pool was needed and refreshing after walking up hills all day!

The staff were personable, friendly, responsive and proactive. They were more than hospitable treating us like guest to their home. Lots of great locals’ recommendations from the breakfast staff as well of non-touristy things that were well worth checking out. Susan reached out prior to check in with all the necessary information to enable a seamless experience even advising us that we can leave our luggage and enjoy the amenities before our apartment was ready for check-in and after check out. There were additional offerings such as wine tasting and welcome wine / pasta De nata as well as popcorn! Our apartment had a private pool and outdoor dining areaas well which added to the oasis from the city life of Porto. The apartment had everything and more for a wonderful stay. It was very modern, quiet and surprisingly larger than expected. The location is great, lots of restaurant and bars nearby and walkable to all the main attractions. If you also need a hire car we can't recommend M.Cunha who have offices nearby and can drop the car to you (best car hire experience I've had to date, period). We would highly recommend and look forward to our next stay! Thank you!

We had an incredible stay at Canto de Luz and highly recommend it—especially for families traveling with little ones! The location is perfect: central yet on a quiet street, and we found Porto much more stroller-friendly than Lisbon. We could walk everywhere with ease. Our City Retreat suite on the ground floor was super convenient with our 17-month-old, offering plenty of space (including a long hallway for him to run around). The large pack ‘n play crib was perfect, and the floor-to-ceiling windows could be fully blacked out, making naps a breeze—for both baby and parents! Breakfast each morning was a highlight—delicious, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared. They even provided baby cutlery and plates, which was such a nice touch. The bright, airy dining space with large windows overlooking the terrace made for a lovely start to the day. Though we couldn’t use the heated pool due to the weather, it was a great added feature. The staff was wonderful—Susan was always available via WhatsApp, and Joanna warmly greeted us each morning. They even provided milk for our baby when we arrived late and hadn’t had time to go to the grocery store. The small details, like a towel-warming rack, easy-to-use washer/dryer, intuitive lighting, and an incredibly comfortable bed, made our stay extra special. We absolutely loved our experience at Canto de Luz and would stay here again in a heartbeat! Highly recommend it for anyone visiting Porto, especially families.

Breakfast was spot on - good range of menu choices; service was quick and friendly. The location was very good - easy walking distance for us (in our 60s and not super fit) to all the things we wanted to see. Nice pool area. The staff were very helpful and friendly, both before and during our stay. Our room/suite was spacious, comfortable and clean, with good facilities. Nice walk-in shower. Enjoyed the small patio for just us.

The house is absolutely amazing. We went as a large group of friends - the communal areas were lovely, but there was also ample space for people to read quietly. There was so much to do on the property too. Beyond the swimming pool, we played darts, table football, pool, volleyball, went paddle boarding and for hikes. All the bedrooms were excellent with individual AC. The barbecue was also great. Overall the property is faultless and the hosts were extremely attentive and kind. Would recommend to everyone!

The house was absolutely amazing! The pool was huge and there were enough Sun beds for everyone. The beds were very comfortable as well! Also, the dinner table outside was very big and cozy, with the lights and flowers above. Furthermore, there were lots of games available! Ping pong table, dart, card/board games etc. The inside of the house was beautiful and very cozy as well! Truly one of our best vacations ever because of this beautiful house en lovely contact person :)

Easy check-in and check-out, owner couldn't be friendlier even left a welcome basket for us. The house is very well equipped and very tastefully decorated. House was very cosy thanks to the pellets oven, fireplace and electrical heaters spread throughout the house.

This place was a dream. My wife and I stayed here for two nights with both of our families following our wedding (12 adults and 6 kids). It was like something out of a movie. Padel court, inside and outdoor pool. Sauna and steam room. And on the second night we paid extra for a chef-catered dinner (buffet which was amazing). The chef also helped with gluten free options for my celiac sister in law. 6 of us also had massages booked for the second day which were great. The only thing I wish, is that we could stay longer. We would love to stay here again. Hopefully next year. LOVED IT!!!

We were very lucky to book this stay last minute. Lots of dates are gone long in advance. We traveled as a family of three and really enjoyed every moment of ours stay. Hospitality is at the top level! Rui is very friendly and welcoming host. The Quinta is located in amazingly beautiful and picturesque place with nice views around. Do book the dinner, it was absolutely fabulous, the dinner exceeded our expectations and it is certainly worth the price asked. Lots of nice facilities, two pools, a sauna, a gym and a paddle tennis court and beautiful surroundings. We would like to come back! Thank you, Rui and your family.

What an amazing place to stay! The views over the valley and the Douro River are absolutely stunning. The hotel blends perfectly with its surroundings and offers great amenities, including a padel court, indoor and outdoor pools, a spa, and more. Everything is spotless and well-maintained, with great attention to detail. The hosts and staff were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful and beautiful getaway!

The Quinta de Cabanas is a beautifully renovated and extended stone house, with a stunning view of the Douro Valley. The owner made us so welcome and, when we asked, was happy to show us the before and after photos - what a superb construction project. The pool and paddle ball court wee both fantastic. The food, both dinner and breakfast, were delicious.

Great pace with great hosts, nice view of the Duro walley and peaceful location. My wife had a knee injury, so our host went to buy a crutch for her. If you want to relax far away from cities and tourist crowds, this is the pace! Good wines and perfect view of Duro walley. It was one of the best accomodation we ever had.

Loves the location with a supermarket across the road and a fresh bakery and bbq place a few minutes walk away. The uber was real cheap from the airport so easily reached The hosts were fantastic and as they live on-site it was easy to reach them for any questions. The place itself is fantastic with a huge pool for the family, tennis court and plenty of outdoor space. The bedrooms were big and comfortable with no complaints. This place is perfect for large families as it has a big living room with a pool table and all you might need in the kitchen

Stunning villa, beautiful historic building, really spacious, spotlessly clean. Big rooms each with own bathroom. Fantastic range of sports - tennis court, big pool with optional cover, table tennis, pool table, fußbal table. Barbecue. Sebastian and his wife live in an attached property and were very kind and helpful whilst also giving us our own space. The owner also gave us helpful tips on where to go. We ate at Enoteca 17.56 as a special treat which was amazing! We would love to return one day!

The property was stunning, the photos do not do it justice. Each bedroom has a bathroom, which was great, the pool is beautiful, it can be covered for rainy days or completely opened up. The gardens are pristine. And the property itself is very well appointed, maintained and spotlessly clean. Helder,Manuela, Sebastian and Goretti were all amazing, helping with any queries or recommendations. Manuela cooked a superb celebration supper one evening, it wss absolutely delicious and made are holiday even more special. There is no fault to be found with this property or the support the family give. We had a terrific time and would highly recommend it to all!

Location was a few miles away from Porto - far enough away from the crowds and higher prices. The local restaurants, supermarkets and residents very friendly. 4 bottles of local premium lager and a coffee for 5 euro's at the local supermarket! Excellent company too. We picked an exceptionally bad week for weather - torrential rain most of the week (mid October). The host really did his best to smooth things over though, bless him. We enjoyed the visit to Taylor's Port.

Our hosts were wonderful and the property was truly beautiful with fantastic facilities.

The stay was absolutely fantastic. The property itself is stunning, with beautiful orchards and amazing views, and it is located very close to Porto (25 min drive or so). The villas are also very nice - they have a great private pool, and the interior have everything you need (i.e., good kitchen and appliances, AC, nice bathrooms). The host Sebastião was also an added bonus - he was so helpful and truly does want to make the guests’ stay as nice as possible. Would definitely recommend and if we make our way back to Porto we will be staying there

The location is close to Porto and other tourist locations but quiet, serene and has lovely views. You can take a local bus to Porto from the property gates or the host will organise a taxi if you don’t want to drive or park in Porto itself. The pool is natural water and in a lovely setting. Each house has a different viewpoint and benefits from the sun at different times of the day so your host could advise the most appropriate property. The water was refreshing but perfect for swimming in late September. There are local amenities including a bakery, restaurant and supermarket within a short drive. The bakery has croissants, and a cafe with crepes and pizza options. We also found an excellent bakery in Lever on the opposite side of the dam next to the cemetery. The supermarket has an excellent fish and meat counter. The river road is pretty to drive and has accessible swimming beaches on both sides of the Douro as another swimming alternative. The host is exuberant and on hand, checking in regularly as needed and providing local knowledge and sightseeing advice. The washing machine was useful although drying clothes may be more difficult out of season. Washing the towels mid week was helpful. Swim towels were provided. There was one insect plug-in charger; on reflection I would bring additional ones. The beds were very comfortable. We were grateful for the hospitality basket including bread, milk, fruit and homemade jam. It would be helpful to include butter.

The location was perfect. We wanted to stay outside of town and the villa was beautiful with a great view. Spotlessly clean with a well equipped kitchen and a host that was so welcoming and helpful. We went in March so the pool was chilly but we used it anyways! In spite of arriving hours earlier than planned, Sebastião handled it in stride and took us a on a tour of the local area and got us our welcome basket of fruit and other local food items. He answered our many questions that cropped up during the week. We had an issue with the smoke detector the first evening that Sebastião fixed promptly (he’s just up the hill!) And we made freshly squeezed orange juice from the trees on the property everyday!

Beautiful property in a wonderful location. Sebastião our host could not have done more for us. The pool was absolutely amazing and we loved sitting out on the terrace in the evening and enjoyed a couple of BBQs as well. The property feels very private. The property is very handily located for so many excursions. We rented a car (and so handy to have EV charging on site!) but there is a bus stop at the bottom of the drive to the property. We took a lovely trip to the beach (on Sebastião’s recommendation) and it was only 25 minutes drive away. A fantastic spot for a relaxing break!

We had a wonderful stay here in September. Sebastiao our host was incredible helpful, giving a quick introduction to the area, and then leaving us to get on with our holiday - but with help available should we need it. The location is great, easy to get into Porto and also quick to get onto the motorway to visit other places around (V Novo de Gaia, Braga, Aviero, the Douro Valley). The villa itself was clean and has everything you might need. The pool, terrace and view over the river are a delight.

The property is so beautiful words cannot capture the experience. The location, the views, the pool and the hospitality of Orlando who is the host extraordinaire is beyond compare. Don’t think twice about booking this special property- it is amazing!

Casa Passal was a perfect place for our reunion of 5 families of friends. The rooms are like 5-star hotel rooms, all of them have ensuite bathrooms and of very good quality. Host Ricardo was very thoughtful and helpful, the best concierge who organised our wine tour, and transport when we needed them. Liliana was always around when we needed anything and took care of all details. We all had such wonderful time and getting together after 8-10 years not seeing one another for some of us. We were there for a week and the children, big or small never ran out of ideas of games due to such big premise, swimming pool, a volleyball/basketball court, table tennis, they even played sardines hiding in brushes. And there are so many different places we could sit around to catch up and have a good old conversation. We were already talking about going back on the 3rd day of staying. Thank you Ricardo to make your villa such a lovely place to be.

Location was much closer to the train station, supermarkets, cafes, restaurant than expected. Breakfast was excellent and catered for everyone. Staff were very helpful and happy to fulfill any requests. The amenities kept the family of 16 ranging 3 generations entertained… pool, badminton, table tennis, basketball…. The large villa and extensive grounds allow space for everyone and a peaceful corner can be found if needed.

This was the absolute perfect place to spend a week with friends - we were 8 adults and 7 children. The host and his team have been extremely helpful and the communication was very smooth throughout the week.

The house and the grounds were perfect for our family group. Very spacious and well equipped. Excellent breakfast. Our host Ricardo was welcoming, kind and very helpful. He responded quickly to questions. He was present but not intrusive. The children loved the stay as did we all.

We loved everything about Casa do Monte. The house itself is charming both inside and out. Very comfortable and attractively decorated with stunning views. It has a glorious position looking out over a valley in the beautiful Douro region. It is fantastically well equipped with facilities that kept teens and adults entertained with a game’s room and cinema. We all enjoyed the lovely pool and surrounding gardens so much we found it hard to leave. What also made it stand out from other houses we have stayed in was the care and consideration of both Marcus the owner (who was readily on hand for advice and help with bookings, taxis, car issues) and Rosa (the housekeeper). Waking up to a lovely breakfast was a great way to start each day and we really appreciated the daily housekeeping. We also fell for the charms of the village the casa is situated in and the friendliness of those we met. Don’t hesitate to book this casa. We would love to return.

An amazing old house, big with many rooms (you can get a bit lost) beautifully decorated with tons of character. A nice Pool, Gardan, Gazebo and amazing amenities like small gym, a real movie room (with movie theatre seats) Jacuzzi and more. Perfect for a large family gathering (like what we have). Host was super responsive and attentive to any need (thank you Marcus).

Absolutely beautiful house with the best facilities of any we’ve stayed in! The cinema and games rooms were a huge hit with the children (and big kids!!), as was the pool area with its gorgeous views. Good location for exploring the Douro valley. Incredible property that could house our large group of family and friends. Dog friendly as well! The property was larger and more comfortable than we could have ever imagined when making the reservation. And it is extremely well stocked with everything you could possibly need. The housekeeper is wonderful and the host was very attentive to our needs. Thanks so much for helping to make our trip so memorable!

It was over expectation. We are all very satisfied and we really enjoyed the stay. The house was so clean and welcoming. A perfect place for a family reunion. 5 stars. Can definitely be back.

Very close to railway station on the legendary Douro line - the river is reached in just 10 mins. This means are car not necessary (though warning nearest supermarket is an uphill trek!) The house is in a beautiful setting with the pool being the centrepiece. Appreciated the heating on the cold autumn evenings.

The house had everything you would ever need. The kitchen was fully stocked with every kitchen utensils and every modcon for a stress free stay. The nespreso coffee machine was heavenly. The beds was super comfortable and very warm. We were super close to shopping centre, hyper market, beach and metro! The house had its own lemon & lime trees which we made cocktails! The pool was refreshing and there was a lot of space to be super private. We loved the private space. The host left a guide book with superb recommendations especially the thermal springs! The wonderful hosts were so welcoming and helpful I would highly recommend this place as it is an exceptional find!

Joanna took very good care of our group, greated us on arrival and left a well stocked welcome pack. The villa was exactly as pictured and very comfortable. Although the airport is close, we were not disturbed by the noise at all. We used the pool in October which was quite fresh but as you would expect the water to be out of season. Beds were comfortable and bedding and towels good quality. We didn't explore the local area too much, we mostly travelled into Porto or to the coast most days and used the villa as a base. We would definitely recommend and book this villa again should we return to the area.

Great house with a fantastic garden and amazing views across the countryside. The pool was good for the kids and there was plenty of space both in the house and garden. Hosts were really helpful with some great recommendations. The location was great for Porto and for the beach.

Lovely rambling villa. Plenty of room for everyone. Pool and table tennis were great for the kids. Very welcome cake, jams and teas when we arrived. Carolina was most helpful. We would love to stay again. The location grew on us as we explored more. Close to Cete station - easy to get to Porto, Amarante, Duoro on the train.

the size and space and rustic charm of the property has everything you need for a big family/friends swimming pool was amazing/table tennis too and the fruit trees are a bonus. we loved the traditional farm house feel.

We were five people staying in this accommodation for six days, and we were all simply exited. I have never seen such a beautiful accommodation that is so well-maintained and with so much attention to detail in the entire setup. The house, the property, and the pool were very spacious, and we had a great time there. Everything is very private, allowing you to truly relax and enjoy a wonderful time with your group or family. The host, Ana, is incredibly friendly, as are her parents, and she was always there for us. Additionally, they were very flexible with our check-in and check-out times, as some of our flights were quite late. We can wholeheartedly recommend this accommodation and would return anytime because it was simply wonderful. It took us about 20 minutes to get there from the airport, and you could take an Uber to Porto, arriving in the city within 35 to 40 minutes. This was all perfectly fine. There was a small supermarket on the main road below the accommodation where you could buy the essentials. The beach was also not far away by Uber. Thank you very much, Ana, and also to your family. We loved this house! Very spacious, comfortable and clean. The owner was very attentive and friendly. She made sure we felt at home. This house had all the amenities needed for a relaxed stay! I can only recommend this property for people that are looking for a calm and relaxed place

It was just perfect, from the warm welcoming on the arrival day until departure. Beautiful created house, incredible areas inside and outside, decoration is amazing and everything we needed was there!
