Amazing Stay – Just Like a Tropical Paradise! 🌴 Despite some mixed reviews we saw earlier, our experience at this hotel was fantastic! ✨ The territory is stunning – just like in a tropical resort or an oasis. Everything is beautifully maintained, with palm trees, pools, and lush greenery all around. It really feels like you're in a postcard! 🏨 Our room was excellent – spacious, clean, and with a lovely view of the pool surrounded by palm trees. 🙌 The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. 🍽️ Food and drinks were totally fine – we especially enjoyed the breakfast (and even had live piano music in the mornings 🎹!). 🎂 They surprised us with a little cake and bubbly on a birthday – such a thoughtful touch! 🪑 There are several restaurants: one à la carte, and one with buffet options. We liked the à la carte one better – you can sit outside on the terrace with no buffet crowds. 💆‍♀️ We didn’t try the SPA, but everything else was great. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would definitely recommend AP Lago Montargil Conference & Spa for a relaxing holiday in a beautiful setting. P.S. I believe complaints usually start in high season when it gets too busy – the staff seemed to manage well during our stay in mid-June.

Amazing breakfast and buffet, great variety. Incredible pools and spa. The adults only pool is a big bonus. Fun activities by the lake. The staff is super nice, our room was comfy, we really enjoyed our stay and definitely coming back.

Amazing swimming pools, silent stylish well-kept places. Tasty food, live music in restaurants, a lot activities on the lake. Highly recommended for vacation with kids.

Beautiful new room with a balcony overlooking the lake. Loved the different pools & great only adults one. Transport to Marina if required. The staff were very helpful & friendly. Especially the waiting staff down the Marina restaurant & Nelio on reception who made us feel very special. Lovely spa

This is a great hotel! The location is amazing. The front desk staff is very helpful. The breakfast buffet has a great spread of options. The room was a little tight, but modern and clean. No noise and the beds/pillows were very comfortable. The private pool on the terrace was a great addition for PM turndown. Its pretty much a jacuzzi and feels amazing on the body after all the walking each day, so I highly recommend this room! I would 100% stay here again.

Lovely boutique hotel in the heart of Porto. Walking distance to everything - bring comfortable walking shoes !! The hotel provided a tranquil haven to return to after a hot day on your feet. Lovely courtyard at the back of the hotel for a drink & snack with a cool plunge pool to cool down in. Sitting with a glass of something in the courtyard takes you away from the Porto bustle.

The Catalonia Porto hotel is truly a beautiful gem of a hotel. The accommodation feels premium with lovely spaces to relax both indoors and outdoors with attention to detail in the relaxed and calm interior and exterior areas. The pool area and outdoor terrace is a quiet haven to relax and take a dip after a day on your feet. Our room was clean and comfortable, we stayed in a double room with terrace. I would say it's deffinitely worth getting a room with some outdoor space either a terracce or garden option as the room would have felt a little on the small side without the balcony. The road outside can be a little noisy however if you close the balcony doors/windows you can't hear anything and there's A/C in the room so you can still maintain the temperature. Breakfast was delicious with many options to cater for all tastes including continental, English style; bacon, eggs, beans etc and a chef on hand to rustle up omelette's or waffles amongst other things. We enjoyed a couples massage which was very relaxing and professional and very reasonably priced. I also spent some time in the spa which has a fee of €8 per hour per person and consists of an indoor pool, a sauna and some loungers to relax on. I only spent an hour in here, which is probably long enough. The hotel is within walking distance to all the main tourist areas but feels far enough out of the centre to relax and unwind. All staff were very friendly and helpful throughout out stay. Keep up the good work!

We’ve just spent six nights in the beautiful Catalonia Porto Hotel. Everything about this hotel is perfect. Check in was quick and reception staff always most professional and helpful. We felt secure as you need a room key to operate the lifts, there are adequate lifts and never a queue. Everywhere in the hotel was spotlessly clean and welcoming. Our superior room was spacious and comfortable and although it overlooked road, it was very peaceful and we had a good sleep in the comfortable beds. Our room was kept lovely and clean with nice fluffy towels, robes, slippers and excellent lighting. Breakfast was amazing, well done to all the breakfast staff, lots of choice, very fresh, we love the orange juice machine! All fresh food was regularly replenished and breakfast really set us up for the day. As we booked a superior room we were entitled to a daily spa visit, which was most welcome after walking around Porto all day. The massage jets in the indoor pool, cold ice if you want it and a sauna were refreshing. We used the outdoor pool every day, as did a few other guests but it is only for the brave in late September! The hotel is well located, within easy walking distance of the hop on hop off buses, the funicular railway and many restaurants and cafes. We ate in the hotel restaurant one evening and the food was delicious! We highly recommend the Catalonia Porto Hotel, a pleasant oasis in the middle of a very busy city, we couldn’t have made a better choice!

Hotel is in a really good location to get to what you need and Porto overall is very walkable. There is a really good supermarket a few minutes away and close to some bars and restaurants. Staff were really friendly and helpful including giving us food recommendations for restaurants and calling up for us to book. Room was clean, airy and spacious. We had a room with a terrace which unfortunately we didn’t get much chance to use as we seemed to get 3 bad days in the middle of glorious sunshine (never mind) which also meant we didn’t get the chance to use the outdoor pool but the setting seemed really nice. Breakfast is great with lots of choice. Drinks stations, hot food, pastries, continental, fruit and yoghurts etc with loads of granola choices and also an on demand egg or pancake station. The indoor ‘spa’ is bookable for €8 per hour and it’s a small indoor pool with a sauna. I tried it once and wouldn’t have gone back. But all seemed clean enough etc. A bottle of water is also provided upon arriving FOC. There is a tea and coffee station (no pods) in the room and the only small thing is that the biscuits are chargeable at about €1.50 for one.

Really unique wellness property. We loved the breakfast and the buffet. Definitely recommend renting a car and booking more time to get full use of the services and activities located at the hotel and beyond. They upgraded us to a room with a private pool which was also amazing. Some of the service was hit and miss from the staff, but overall very pleasant and relaxing stay!

We had a pool suite for a family of 4, and the room was enormous and so luxurious. The bed was very comfortable, and my children said that the sofa bed was too. We absolutely loved the pool on the balcony. Breakfast was very busy, and an amazing number of guests somehow manage to drop food on the floor. The staff were quick to clean it up and replenish the food. We had buffet dinner once and that was really nice. There was a good selection of food that was constantly topped up. The pools were excellent, but it was slightly annoying that other guests hogged the sunbeds by placing towels on them early in the day but didn't go there until later.

Saccharum hotel is a really special place. It is a small paradise that has an infinity pool with an ocean view, amazing gardens, indoor pool, great staff, and really restaurants with amazing views of the ocean. It is located very close to Calheta sandy beach. It is highly recommended if you would like to have a calm and picturesque stay in one of the most beautiful hotels in Madeira. I will definitely come back here again.

Very nice hotel with a beautiful view of the ocean. We loved the infinity pool. We didn't love the bathroom set up which included a shower workout a door. Pool area on top floor was nice but lacked stable wifi and no bar service at the chairs. You have to walk up to a bar to get a drink. There was not a store in the hotel so had to walk 3 blocks to get sunscreen.

The building was originally a Sugercane factory and the conversion has retained the dark hues and colours making the hotel warm and cosy. Our booking was for family of 4 and we booked into one of the garden pool suites. The package was b&b and came with an upgrade to the “premium service”. I would say the latter is well worth having as it gives you free access to the underground car park, the spa and an upstairs lounge with great views and where you can have breakfast (from a menu) and drinks and snacks. Really made the stay even better. The bedroom & attached lounge was large but had some quirky design issues. Eg the shower had no door or the bedroom was open to the basin area. Ok if there are two of you but needed a bit better planning when 4. This is a great hotel and as it was s not in Funchal (30 min drive) is much more relaxed and a spa.

The property itself. BRUNCH is unbelievable. Private pool. The bed was so comfortable. Hot water that stays hot. There was a Portuguese restaurant nearby on the corner we drove to: Triangulo. AMAZING SERVICE. Owner served our table.

Adults only was a new experience for us and so good…the resort was peaceful! Pools were a calm space and no early risers. The resort is very unusual in its set up with the rooms set at different angles with different outdoor spaces.2 pools with plenty of very comfortable loungers. The breakfast was the best I’ve seen outside a 5 star hotel…a fabulous spread each morning served in a lovely indoor/outdoor space. Highly recommend

Beautiful, clean, peaceful property. Ultra well kept common areas and villas. Spacious. Beautiful pools. Breakfast spread is a beautiful sight, all kinds of perfect, gourmet delicacies. Way more food and options than the average person would need or expect. It was lavish and a highlight of the day. Pool water is cold but refreshing. Staff is reserved but very helpful with information when asked.

Felt like an oasis! Pool, lounge and breakfast areas were very clean! Staff were very helpful. Beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. We stayed in room 35 (little bit bigger, more simple, very private) and switched to room 14 (smaller but nicer and nice patio on the pool deck). Breakfast was a different selection every day and a big spread! Location was perfect for us but we love walking. About 15-20 mins to get to old town but only 2 mins to get to beach/boardwalk. Ubers were about $6 a trip to town if you don’t feel like walking.

The room was nicely decorated and had all the essentials, we particularly enjoyed the balcony. The pool area is very calm and makes for a great place to relax, it is also good to have two pools to enjoy. Location is quite convenient as there are some restaurants within walking distance and also a medium size beach (Praia Dona Ana).

Stunning hotel in a stunning location overlooking the beautiful beach.Rooms were lovely especially the ones with a sea view.Great buffet breakfast, and snack bar and pool bar by the pool during the day.Cashless hotel.pool was wonderful, plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas and towel station.Also small heated indoor pool, for children, plus gym and sauna.I used the hair salon and Maria was excellent 👍.We stayed as a family group for a wedding and it was fantastic, staff were excellent,so professional and friendly.just took 5 minutes by taxi to get to the center of the restaurants and bars.

The staff are exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. There is a whole variety of accommodation so choose wisely. I loved my room (268) quiet and sea view, good size. Very clean. There are more modern rooms available. Breakfast offers something for everyone . The pool area is a little tired and they really need to clean the algae from the pool and the glass bannisters of bird poo daily that are all around the pool area and the restaurant terrace. Well positioned as great beach (and lift down to it ) the better beach sunbeds are to the right not the ones in front which are too far from the water. Lovely boardwalk to the harbour bars / restaurants or it's a quick cab. Great little beach bar / restaurant to the left as you come out of the beach exit overlooking a calm small cove which is great for children.

Amazing and varied breakfast. Kind and dedicated staff. Well maintained hotel, keeping architectural features from the 60s. Confy room. Many esplanades, elevator for beach. Very decent indoor pool and spa. Nice swimming pool facing the beach.

The property was excellent- very clean - very relaxing, especially in the bar on floor 1 which played moody jazz quietly in the background - Nice!!😂- only stayed for 1 night in November, but the facilities, indoor pool; spa; gym on floor 1; outdoor pool etc. would have got used otherwise. My sea view balcony room on floor 4 was lovely, comfortable and clean and a great sun trap throughout the day with an uninterrupted view to the sea and beach approx 100m away. But whilst the fabric of resort was great, the staff really make this place 👏👏👏 - very friendly; efficient; can’t do enough for you 10/10. It’s a short 5 min taxi or a nice 30 min walk along the boardwalk alongside the beach to get to the village of Alvor itself which has lots of bars and restaurants to choose from. The buffet breakfast provided plenty of choice and was good without being top notch 8/10 I understand there is plenty of golf courses close by; so I would definitely rebook this place for a golf trip if I return in the spring/summer

Nice hotel, excellent service, bar with pool table which was nice in the evening while sipping our glass of port. Only thing that we didn't really like was the private pool. Guess it hadn't been used in a while because it was filthy. Other than that everything was good.

We booked a room for just 1 night as a little romantic getaway during our holiday in Portugal. Upon arrival the peaceful area in which the hotel is located really soaks you into an relaxing mood. We were welcomed by friendly staff and even tho we arrived a little early, they made sure that our room was clean and ready for us. The room is very clean, nicely decorated and breaths the peaceful environment of the area. The spa facilities are great, we were lucky to have them all to ourselfs. There is an indoor pool, turkish steam sauna, jacuzzi and sauna. Right outside the pool area is enough space to soak up the sun on one of the chairs, a bar and a children playground. The hotel offers a library, pooltable, restaurant, roomservice, minibar, lounge area and enough activities which can be booked as an extra for your stay. Breakfast is included in each booking. Our overall experience is that this was the perfect getaway to really enjoy the peace and eachother.

Stayed with my husband and two children for 1 night before our flight home. The kids loved having some pool time and was nice to have loungers around the edge of the pool. The rooms were lovely and comfortable. Evening meal was great (but did feel sorry for the waiter as he was on his own). Breakfast was very nice and the kids said it's the best hotel breakfast that they have had!

The hotel is a small haven between the forest. Although somewhat difficult to arrive, the commodities immediately invite you into the forest and the hotel providing you a sense of calm and serenity. The room and cleaning of it was perfect, no issues whatsoever. All rooms are located with river view which makes it very beautiful to just stay in the balcony and enjoy. Breakfast is also included and filled with options that cater to every type of guest and for us, made every beginning of day pleasant and filled with food to start. A plus point is that it offered EV charging which made your trip to the hotel and surrounding cities essentially free improving the stay immensely. Definitely coming back in a near future!

We travelled with our 7 month old for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay and loved the area. Staff were warm, welcoming and super helpful with every interaction (esp Neuza and the other dining room staff). The room was ample in size with a very nice cosy but quiet feel which was great. The hotel grounds are lovely, especially when you wander outback past the pools and take a walk down to the beach along the boardwalk. The beach itself was just ideal, quiet, beautiful clean sand and clear water. The hotel also provides towels by the pool for you to use. The access to the beach is also very well considered as only hotel guests with a key card can exit through some gates to reach the beach. For a young family, this made a lot of sense. In terms of facilities, there's a nice small gym 24/7 free for use and for the more avid gym goers and more substantial gym with powerlifting equipment etc for 10 euros a day. The spa itself was really nice and is only 20 euros for 3 hours which I clufes access to a private pool, sauna, steam room, ice bucket and jacuzzi. This is free for anyone who books a massage too. Outside of this, there is a separate indoor heated pool which is free for all guests to use and very well sized. The breakfast buffet was great for us as vegetarians and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Dinner was also good however ony a few nights, perhaps a more substantial vegetarian main dish would have been great. Aside from this, we enjoyed our meals in the hotel.

Resort is in a quiet area, with plenty of space for parking. Waking up to the sound of birds each morning was lovely. Restaurant had plenty of delicious food choices for breakfast & evening meal, and the pool area is beautiful pool with plenty of room and has easy access to the beach. Staff were excellent, very attentive and welcoming. Receiving the cake, pastries and champagne in our room on the day of our Wedding Anniversary was a lovely surprise and gesture. Thank you!

It's our 5th year at Vidamar, and we continue to find the location unbeatable, right on the beach with the beautiful palmtrees landscaping - the huge beautiful pool is unique and the rooms are very comfortable. Nice varied breakfast. We also added the half board option for all the days and found it to be a good decision if you really just want to chill and enjoy staying at the hotel. We had a small problem with some guests at the pool who were refusing to behave in conformity with the rules and the hotel management (Carolina) was prompt to resolve things with great professionalism, effectiveness and discreetness. Spa treatments also great, good products and great value for money. We noticed that certain areas of the hotel were freshly renovated, which is a great sign that the property, even being recent, is well kept to a high standard of maintenance. All in all, another fantastic family stay at Vidamar.

Great outside area, with a huge pool and a lot of sunbeds, separate pool for kids. The hotel is in front of an amazing beach. Breakfast was good and reasonable, but nothing special. Room was spacious enough for a family of 4 with 2 kids of young age.

We booked the Suite Panoramic for 5 nights and it did not disappoint! You will want to live in it! It is the very best view in the entire hotel. No pool or restaurant can exceed it though those views are also lovely. It also sits very close to the Adult Pool. Skip the unit with the pool and book this suite and enjoy the pool next door or your own large terrace. The staff is incredible. Super thoughtful, engaging, warm and knowledgeable. The concierge was incredibly helpful arranging many things in advance so we could dimply enjoy snd relax while we are here. The food and wine so lovely and they can easily accommodate plant-based eaters with tasty foods. Biodynamic wines also available and delicious. A very special place we are grateful to have visited. Highly Highly recommend!!

A beautiful hotel in a beautiful spot on the river. Two lovely restaurants plus a poolside bar with excellent service. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. Loved the rooftop pool and the indoor pool in the spa. Great spa too!

This hotel was simply perfect. It was elegant but modern and calmingly designed. The setting was spectacular with infinity pools overlooking the river and room views with expansive windows also overlooking the slowly meandering river. The restaurants were of the highest quality even for a vegetarian couple like us with great choice, ambiance, down to earthness despite the elegance, and just welcoming calming vibes. The spa was fantastic too with a great indoor pool, gym, massages, etc. We have not stayed at a hotel/spa before but this experience is totally worth it (and close to Porto to boot).

The whole complex is located in a very beautiful location in a bend of the Douro river, regardless where you are, in the Pool, restaurant, bar or your room the view is everywhere breathtaking. The 2 infinity pools blend in the scenery superbly. we surely will come back.

Had an Amazing stay in the family apartment with a wonderful pool. It's a massive apartment all rooms kept well and clean only downfall was the kitchen it's needs updating and we had a leak in the kitchen next to the light which made the floor very slippery my little one had a fall we did tell them but nothing was done while we were there which was a shame but that hasn't put us off staying again it was absolutely beautiful just have to be very careful of the floors as they can be very very slippery with little ones and with the pool aswell. Has a great bbq area the rooms are all a great size and the views are lovely.

Very spacious and comfortable Villa with an amazing pool and outdoor sitting & landscaping area. We spent almost the whole stay around the pool! You also get a lot of privacy with the self-standing house and proper fencing. The hotel staff was very friendly as well.

Everything, the villa was like something out of a movie. The space was brilliant and you had your own area that wasn't too close to other villas. The pool was a good size and the outside chairs, sunbeds and bbq area were well kept and a great addition to the place Taxi's were easy to hire and the small towns around Colina are only a 5-10 min taxi ride away. Great location to be out of the way but close enough for evening meals and drinks

We stayed for 5 days with the pool access inter family room. Hotel was quiet compared to around the marina so we have the world of comfort. The breakfast selection is excellent with everything fresh and tasty. We never had any issue with getting sun loungers with the staff around the pool always available as required. Drinks are very expensive but to be expected for a 5 star. We would happily come back as we usually stay nearer the marina but this is a lovely option, Ubers only around €8 to get to Vilamoura centre.

Hotel was perfect for short chill out by pool break. Music at pool bar was a bit loud be one day with music that was not relaxing. Some large groups were a bit loud in one day and their swearing language was bot pleasant to hear when they sat may us at the pool . It was only for 2 hours. Not much the hotel can do about that. Bfast was great . Evening bars were quiet and should really have bar near pool in evening to have somewhere nice to sit. Only issue with room was no light that you can see properly at mirror so my wife found it very hard to do makeup. Lights in bedroom badly designed and complex. Too bright or too dark . We had a great weekend and would visit again.

Anantara is a beautiful resort with expansive grounds and multiple pools. The indoor heated pool is adults only. There is a small outdoor pool which is temperature controlled that my son used a lot. The kids club while unsupervised at this time of the year came in really handy. It has lots to keep a 5 year old entertained. The breakfast buffet was good with lots of choice and attentive staff. The staff were generally really kind and friendly everywhere. Anytime you asked for anything , they did it with a smile on their faces. The inroom dining took a little longer than we would have liked but that’s a minor blip. The resort has a free shuttle to the marina that is really useful.

Breakfast at Anantara Vilamoura is stunning, with an impressive selection of fresh, high-quality offerings. The egg station is particularly noteworthy, providing a wide range of choices that cater to all tastes. The lobby features a pool table, adding a fun, casual element to the elegant surroundings. Around the pool, the service was consistently excellent, further enhancing the sense of relaxation and pampering. Overall, Anantara Vilamoura delivers a harmonious blend of sophistication and family-focused amenities, ensuring a memorable stay for all ages. Will return!

Pleasant hotel, particularly if the weather is good and sun bathing is your goal. In poor weather, problems arise as the indoor pool is chargeable at €25 p.p./ hr. The outdoor pool is heated. A car could be regarded as a must have to get out and about as the hotel is 3 miles out of town. Shuttle bus runs into Vilamoura 3 times per day A few minor maintenance issues with the room. Breakfasts were very good and the Rio restaurant excellent. Staff very efficient and welcoming. Overall we enjoyed our 4 nights there.

The location of Marina Club resort was perfect! Right on the marina with a balcony facing the water and boardwalk where we could sit and watch all the activity. The room was large! With a living room, kitchen area, separate bedroom and a bathroom. Everything was clean and comfortable with everything we needed. We didn’t use the pools but saw a lot of people enjoying them. They had a kiddy pool and a nice big swimming pool for adults. It looked very nice. Breakfast was included with our stay and was a great spread of different dishes. We would definitely stay there again!

The pool was great. Proximity to the marina, to supermarket, to the old town. Easy to drive to the beaches. Great little restaurant plus snack bar by the pool, as well as good loungers by the main bar. Receptionists were very helpful and gave advice re restaurants, beaches, farmers' markets, events in town etc. Enjoyed a speedboat trip to the seacaves. Lots of boat trips available. Great atmosphere in the marina area. Loved it. Would happily go back anytime. Great for families, with a shallow pool for the toddlers. Can book sub aqua lessons.

The room was quite large with a dining area and full kitchen. Bedroom was big with a large closet, big programmable safe and comfy beds. Staff were friendly and answered any questions we had. Our balcony overlooked the pool and was a nice view! Pool is cold but very refreshing when it gets so hot in Lagos! Walk into town in about 15 - 20 minutes. Large grocery store (Pingo Doce) super close by. Decent happy hour near the pool too.

This little one-bedroom apartment was perfect for our group of 4 (3 adults and a teen who are all family). The two couches in the living room converted to excellent beds (they were not pull-out sofas that can be uncomfortable) There is a well-appointed grocery store within walking distance to get provisions so we could make a nice breakfast and the little kitchen had all that we needed. Everything was clean and the decor was minimalist and functional. It was winter so we can't comment on the pool (outdoor, not heated) and we didn't want to pay to use the indoor pool. Laundry machines within the resort complex. The resort is located about a 20 min walk from the main town; fine for us but if you need to be right in the middle of everything select a different property. Friendly staff, parking on site included.

Family friendly! First family holiday with my two young children and husband. My mum had visited marina club on three previous occasions and sold going here to us. Apartments spacious, spotless and cleaned daily. Pool and outside areas cleaned daily.We chose 1 bedroom apartment with the marina and pool view and this didn’t disappoint. Good size balcony with a beauitful view lovely drying area included. Staff incredibly friendly throughout our stay. Ideal location.5/10 walk to local supermarket that we visited daily. Short walk into the town. Very central. Plenty of lovely restaurants bars and coffee shops.So lovely to see other young families at the Marina. Lovely atmosphere. Richardo in the bar is an absolute gent fantastic at his job. For our first family holiday we weren’t disappointed. See you next year.

Great overall, even better than I had expected. Room much better than the photos suggested (quality of linen amongst best ever, in any five-star I've stayed in, and bathroom spotless with constant piping hot water for bath). Pool-side room with direct access from room patio door to pool area was great. No need to worry about noise around pool as not so busy and everyone well behaved! Could go in and out of room to pool and other facilities very easily. Hardly used corridor entrance to room during entire stay. Breakfast buffet excellent, best choice of fruit and pastries, even though cooking station very, very slow, for hot egg dishes. Better to use frying pans rather than hot plate? Bar area outdoor terrace was also very nice in evening sun, but quieter rather than lively. Hotel a bit shabby in places, as over comments have said. They could really enhance pool-side area by putting cushions on recliner (but plenty of recliners and no rush every morning, as not that many rooms) and putting in some new parasols, as look very shabby. Stunning location righty by boardwalk that takes you to all interesting viewing and swimming spots. About a 20 min walk to town centre and restaurants. Quick taxi journey. Spa also great with own outdoor pool. All staff super helpful and friendly. Final tip: this is a super relaxed experience, calm and quiet, with amazing views and walks nearby, but if you're looking for somewhere with more of a buzz / atmosphere, it might not be for you!

We had a lovely time here though we were disappointed with our ‘suite’ on the ground floor with the pool view. It was tired with dark worn furniture which took the shine off for us. The maintenance directly outside our room was not very good either. The staff though I have to say are all very nice and very accommodating. The actual pool was not heated but was very refreshing. Poolside food was excellent although we didn’t like the fact that the 10 euro drinks came in little cans that you could buy from the supermarket for 1-2 euros each. The cushions on the loungers by the pool didn’t look that clean sadly. They had stains on them which wasn’t pleasant. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and plenty of staff on hand to help. The bar upstairs was very nice too and the actual restaurant off the bar was always busy, albeit quite expensive. For service I believe this is a five star but for the quality of our room I would say it’s a 3 star, very expensive for what the room cost us.

This hotel was amazing in every way. The views outside the hotel were breathtaking. To the back was the most beautiful cliffs and to the left was the mountains and city. And there were numerous walking trails and boardwalks right outside the grounds. The sea view superior room was huge and beautiful and well equipped. The bed was so comfy with wonderful bedding and pillows - firm but giving. The bathroom was huge with a tub and large shower. Huge balcony with a beautiful view. Breakfast was very good with outside seating available and a coffee bar and champagne. Valet service was quick and the staff was soooo friendly. It’s a quick drive to old town Lagos. The spa was clean and had a sauna and steam room as well as a small outside jacuzzi and large heated pool at no extra charge. The normal pool was large and beautiful and there was even a baby pool. I cannot imagine a more perfect place to stay in Lagos. And even a great value for everything we got.

Cascade is the perfect spot for your stay in Lagos. We had a beautiful room which included breakfast. The breakfast is outstanding with mimosas, coffee and a full buffet with excellent service. We were provided with a welcome drink at the bar which was a nice touch. The resort is a 4 euro uber ride to Old Town which is 10 minutes away. After a beach day, it was always nice to come back and relax by the pool. You could also opt to sit poolside all day. The staff were all so nice and helpful. The only comment I would make is extended pool service hours for food and drink in the warmer weather. Otherwise our stay was fabulous and we can't wait to return. We debated for months over several options and were thrilled with our choice. You won't be disappointed.

Lovely 2 bedroomed apartment, very spacious, very clean with balconies from all the rooms and a rooftop sun terrace! Very well equipped kitchen for self catering....comfortable lounge and beds! Excellent ensuite and bathrooms...... The main hotel offered access to the bars and restaurant and beach pool areas. Drinks in the Lighthouse bar which overlooked the pool. Reception staff were helpful and friendly and help was given to locate the apartment - this is a large complex! The garage parking was excellent with direct access to the apartment door - great with luggage! Outside pool and other activities were available! Good location and access by car to Lagos and surrounding areas.

The private pool, large villa, restaurants nearby and on the property, amazing views and hiking trail immediately adjacent to the resort.

Perfect week at Rocha Brava Holiday Village. The complex is really spacious with a choice of pools. We used the largest pool area and we could always get sun-beds. Nice cafe/bar area with cooked food, drinks and icecreams. There’s astro turf around the pools so no muddy water as people mentioned in posts from last year. The gardens and planting around the complex look lovely. Spa and little shop on site. You don’t get bored of looking at the sea views! Our 12 & 14 year olds loved it. Air con worked really well in the apartment, which had 2 bedrooms and a good sized balcony with stunning views. Only negative = pillows do need an upgrade.

Nice clean village, lovely pools ( 2 are heated!) and gardens . The shops onsite had everything you need , there is also a spar 10 minute walk away, cafe food is basic but good. Some good restaurants near by , especially pashmina ( Indian) and the lighthouse bar /restaurant which has a fab menu and the food was delicious! Definitely go out the back gate by the end pool ( you need your key) and do the coastal walk into main town … it’s fabulous! We stayed in a ground floor apartment near reception. Apartment was 3bedroom, it was a bit tired and bathroom a bit mouldy but not too bad. Kitchen was basic but had everything we needed . Definitely visit the caves ! And go to Benagil beach and visit the beach club … views are amazing and food was good, a bit pricey but worth it.., it has a little pool and sunbeds Use bolt to get around as cheap and quick

Just LOVED it!!! We will go back there. The apartment was large and well furnished, we were on the ground floor with a large patio and lounge chairs and small table to eat outside, just steps away from the heated pool. In the front of our apartment was a pond with a small water fall so it was really relaxing, sometimes we could hear the frogs in the evening. There were many restaurants to choose from (in the complexe), really good food and drinks. A coffee shop with live music 3 times a week. 4 pools, tennis, mini golf, 2x markets, free shuttle bus. Beds were comfy, full kitchen, large living room. The resort was really clean, the landscape was immaculate. The walk by the cliff is accesible by the resort, we had a 2.5 hour cliff walk one morning, just beautiful. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about Rocha Brava.

Do not miss out! This resort is HUGE! It has 3 pools, mini golf, tennis and a little shop on site. We booked for breakfast only and it’s quite nice. I do think those who are fussy could struggle as it’s either cereals, pastries, cakes, fruit, yoghurt, scrambled eggs, mushrooms, streaky bacon or ham and cheese. Theres no sausages/beans/fried eggs etc. The pools are a little cold but you get used to it. Getting a sun lounger is so hassle-free. We were in 410B and loved the room. It was big and private as it is top story. Would rather this than having a family above overlooking. The shop is pricy but we packed some snacky bits from home

We hired a villa for 4 nights in April for two adults and two young children (age 9 and 7). We just wanted to relax and explore the local area - the town of Évora and the surrounding countryside, including the cork oaks and ancient olive trees. Apparently it’s really hot in summer (35-40C)… even in April it was peaking in the mid 20s C. The villa was very spacious, with two good-sized bedrooms, and well-equipped, including a kitchen. The outside area was private, good for relaxing by the pool with views of the countryside. Our children loved the farm and the kids’ play area. There were lots of tame animals for petting - goats, sheep and a pony. The kids’ club was well organised and our children enjoyed some the activities - pottery and pizza making. We chose the hotel because it had an indoor pool (the outdoor pools are too cold in April!) Pool was a bit small but did the job - we went every day. Restaurant food (including the breakfast buffet) and service were generally quite good, especially the grill menu, but the bar and restaurant lacked a bit of ambience. Possibly the wine could’ve been more free flowing! The local old railway line is a great spot for cycling and running. Overall, we had an excellent stay and would recommend the hotel - fairly good value for money and something different from the Algarve!

We had the most amazing time at Octant Évora. Thank you!! We were travelling with our 1 year old daughter and this is the first truly family friendly hotel we have ever been to. There were toys and play areas everywhere. Small details like microwaves, bottle warmers etc. baby monitors. Everything was made so easy. The hotel itself is lovely and feels very luxurious. There is one pool for kids and three separate adult only pools which are beautiful. We left our daughter napping and enjoyed spending time in the adult pools which are small and intimate - we mostly had a pool to ourselves which was amazing. The hotel has great grounds, animals you can meet and a lovely lake walk. Staff were super friendly, helpful and generally brilliant. Would recommend this hotel to anyone with young families, but anyone could have a nice time here

Everything. From the moment we stepped in the hotel, to meeting the staff, the Christmas dining service, the general atmosphere of the hotel and even the guests, the services like the fitness room, pool, sauna and massage treatments - we LOVED. The rooms are so spacious and a great size to chill out in. Bathroom, all good. Outdoor mini plunge pools with the seating area, lovely way to relax with a book. The farm - adorable. Loved going to see the goats and pigs every day. We did an activity booked through the hotel of the horse ride which was also lovely too.

We loved the surprise element of it. The photos and description gave very positive expectations, and we must say that immediately it exceeded our expectations. The place is beautiful, the rooms are very spacious and comfortable, the food in the restaurant is excellent and the facilities offer all the relaxation you need. It was so fine to be there we didn't even leave the facilities to explore the surroundings outside, as it has its own hiking paths in nature, including contemplation pools to enjoy beautiful sunsets and the stars at night. Definitely recommendable!

Location - pure Alentejo! Peaceful, quiet, relaxing! Design throughout very well considered. unbelievably comfortable and beautiful spa, pool areas, & organic garden. So fresh, such clean linens, rooms, bath etc Fantastic bonus pillow choice service. Very thigh full bowl of fruit and little handwritten note of welcome ( nice touch) an even better touch was the ice cold scented hand-towel 👌🏻 Food is top notch in quality, quantity ( generous) and great variety … ( whether dinner or breakfast) Freshest! Bikes available - great for sunset rides.

Great location. The room was very big and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent too. The children loved the pool area. Everything was very clean.

This is definitely a hotel I highly recommend if you need to stay in the Batalha area and surrounding neighbourhoods. The service was great. I was very impressed by Zara and Carina, who were at the reception desk. Their professionalism and, above all, their genuine welcoming nature left me with a great impression, and I do congratulate those two young ladies for going above and beyond to make sure I found the place I was looking for in Leiria and suggesting possible ways of getting there. The entire building is newly built, and so it is still in perfect using conditions. It has a simple yet practical design, and the room was well designed to accommodate a disabled person, which made mine and my mother's stay very comfortable indeed. I liked the variety of options at breakfast; the freshness and taste of the food was quite good as well. Not only will I book this hotel again if I need to return to Batalha in Portugal, but I highly recommend it to anyone travelling to that part of the country.

Value for money and great location. Too bad we were not able to try the spa but we will definitely try on our next trip.

Photos do not do this place justice. The area is very beautiful and scenic. The hotel is basically in the middle of a vineyard. There are multiple common places to relax throughout the complex. The spa and pool areas are great. There is both and indoor and outdoor pool. My only complaint is that the food in the restaurant (for dinner) was terrible which is unfortunate because it is not clear if there are any nearby restaurants in the remote area where this hotel is located. I would definitely return here and stay more than one night. Nearby are Braga and Guimaraes which are well worth the visit. The drive to this area was also quite scenic.

We were a family of four spending 5 five nights in a three bed with a pool and an amazing view of the natural country side. The overall impression of the place was relaxed and friendly. But sometime this could be missed as too laid back with varied interaction with the reception team. Maybe their English was rusty? I think you have to remember that you are going somewhere remote from the usual tourist locations. The whole area was relaxed and this is something to remember. It’s not like a typical five star hotel, more of a home away from home with the addition of house keeping which was simply outstanding. The villa was cleaned too to bottom everyday. This was a lovely treat for any family who wants a break from the chores at home. The location was a little remote, but only 30 mins from some of the best beaches in the world. We loved our break here and would certainly return with another family to make it more fun for the kids- there are no clubs, but they do have paddle board which was fun. It was also my breakfast and the hotel kindly gave me a lovely cake to enjoy. A very nice touch. We would highly recommend for anyone who likes an adventure and home luxuries at the same time. Thanks to the team!

The villas are big and comfortable for a big group of friends/ family. The kitchen has all the supplies needed for short and long meals, the bedrooms are comfortable and clean, the swimming pool has the perfect dimensions, amazing view and distance vs. the other villas. Lovely! The staff was extremely friendly and ready to help.

Hotel is outstanding. Staff was extremely friendly and very professional. We had a wonderful dinner, as well as breakfast. Breakfast is made of very good and fresh products. Squeezed orange juice always a plus, and not often available in Boutique hotels. Pool is very nice.

Great stay in this hotel. The room was comfortable. Having a drink poolside very relaxing. The breakfast was very good and walking in the cork forest was lovely. Also, good star viewing on a clear night.

It's a place to relax and enjoy the peace of Alentejo. The pool is beautiful and we found the restaurant good

I loved the onsite facilities...small baby pool...mixed bigger pool beside it...smaller kiddies separate pool with slide... adults only pool...loved our villa...villa 140 right beside the pool and pool side bar but far enough away not to hear music etc when baby asleep with doors closed upstairs...loved the Aircon in every room... and loved that there is a stair gate at the top and bottom of the stairs. Catering Facilities excellent..big fridge..big freezer..lidl is 5min away in taxi....loved the take away menu...to order ...gets delivered to your door at a fraction of price of the main dining area but same food. Staff very attentive and professional. Entertainment at night was lovely for the kids.

Great resort. Staff could not do enough for you. We stayed at a villa beside the adult pool. The resort is mainly focused on families. Main pool is mayhem but the adult one was lovely and relaxing. Whole place exceptionally clean and well run. Cold water stations at the pools, good beach towels provided were a nice touch. You have to request blankets, the beds only come with sheets. Beds were very comfortable and even the couch bed was great. Shower was fantastic but there's a big step into the bath for it. Villa was huge and luxurious well worth it. We went all inclusive for last three days which suited us. A nice mix between gorgeous meals out in the old town and then the buffet for last few pool days. There's a free shuttle bus to town throughout the day and get a taxi at night. At night the taxi cost us 6e which was grand and plenty of them.

Lovely hotel, would definitely recommend for families. We didn't use the adult only pool so cant advise on that. Easy check in on arrival and a golf cart waiting to take your bags to your room. The rooms are a nice size with good facilities. We went self catering, there is a lidl and Pingo Dolce close by for a bigger shop and a smaller shop on site which was well stocked, but closes at 6. We ate at the buffet for breakfast and dinner, the selection was what you would expect but all of high quality, easy to get seated, constantly replenished right until the service stopped, also lots of waiters on hand. we had a larger group some nights and they were happy to help accommodate us together where possible. Daytime, there is a kids club which is for 5+ my children are 3&4 so didn't attend but they did enjoy using the park, the splash pool is brilliant and the kids were entertained and happy most days, we also used the football pitch and tennis courts the main pool is lovely also with a big shallow end and baby pool, nice clean toilets and fresh towels available daily.

Facilities great, three pools which meant kids happy at the splash pool but grandparents could get some peace at the adults only pool. Staff so lovely. Clean everywhere. Our villa was huge, so much space. Also good availability for renting the children’s items; cot, highchair, changing mat, stroller - all made life a bit easier! Food good, different dinner offerings every day.

Our accommodation was very nice, spacious, well equipped, and very clean. The resort overall is very family-focused, so there is a lot of noise around the family pool and the AquaPlay areas, but there are quiet areas further away, including around the adults pool. Staff were all very friendly and very helpful. Some areas, such as the toddlers' play area, are a bit tired looking and could do with a bit of attention and better equipment. While I was playing with my grandson in the family pool, I badly cut my foot on a grating on the bottom: I reported this to a member of staff, but I don't know whether anything was done about it. There are limited dining facilities, considering that most people are on an all-inclusive deal, but there is a reasonable selection of food on offer and the menu appears to vary from day to day. For those paying, breakfast is good value, but dinner is on the expensive side. An occasional shuttle bus is available to go into town, but taxis are inexpensive and easily available. It is only a few minutes run into town, where there are numerous restaurants and lovely beaches.

Pedras da Reina has a wonderful pool, a good bar bar overlooking the pool , it is in a great location near the centre of the village , the apartmant has lovely private outside space. There is pleasant shop on site

Spacious complex with a good size kids pool and main pool. Stairs in accommodation were tiled and very steep and narrow but other then that they were well equipped and clean

Good location less than 10 m.walk to waterfront. Development looking a bit tired in places but clean and well run. Staff all very helpful if not overly cheerful. Pool area not really sufficient for size of development. Could do with second, adult only pool.

Fabulous complex & apartment. Clean and well-appointed accommodation. There could be a steep flight of steps to your apartment, so check that out beforehand if it is likely to be an issue.Staff are excellent, very helpful, and friendly. Great location with complimentary tourist train( you could walk it's only 10-15 minutes)and then short boat ride to cabanas beach. The pool & cafe on site are very good and not expensive. We didn't try the restaurant as buffet style & not to our personal taste. Very good selection of restaurants & bars within a short walk . Most have really good live music a couple of nights a week.

Det er ok! Personalet er imponerende imødekommende, høflige og meget villige til at hjælpe. Værelset/huset havde hvad man forventer, men bærer præg af at have en del år bag sig. Sengene er utrolige hårde, måske standard i Portugal. Områdets faciliteter var super. Pool, tennis padle - vi brugte det hele:-) Vores ophold var med halvpension. Overordnet set er det i gen grund til at beklage sig. Maden fejler absolut intet, men udvalget er til den begrænsede side. Når det er sagt må man bestille fra deres menu kort, hvis dagens menu ikke findes interessant - og det et top service.
