Swim-up Rooms & Private Pools in San Blas

The private pools were awesome. The location was incredible, you needed to transverse a shallow bed of water in low tide to get to the property. The waves crash right on the property which is built on a tiny island at the shore.

We booked and stayed 1 night in this very cute on the beach cabana. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. We had a beautiful view and enjoyed the ocean waves all night. As a bonus we were invited to have coffee the next morning with the host and they shared a lovely breakfast of freshly made tortillas and cheese creme & veggies.

Absolutely LOVED it! Everyone one was so nice and the owner was very attentive super friendly and welcoming! A very beautiful private place. Had to book another night since I loved it so much. Recommend everyone to come stay the night you won’t want to leave.

The host of this property elevates it from a two star to a five star! Diego is kind, personable and goes out of his way to make your stay comfortable and memorable!

The staff was amazing. Super helpful and super friendly and accommodating. It was quiet since it was low season, the beach was incredible and the pool was perfect. The free breakfast was delicious! Probably my favourite part 🤗

The view was beautiful and everything was so clean. Staff was attentive and polite. The beach was walking distance and we were close enough to site see.

Pros: Quiet, a few blocks away from center so don’t hear the loud music at the bars on the weekend Beautiful grounds and pool Pool is warm Feels very private Our junior suite was big A/c works well - but we left it on day and night Flat screen TV with cable Restaurant on site has great food and is beautiful Large shop with quality arts and crafts from MX Cons: Our room needs updating. The website shows a few rooms that look updated but I think the suites are not. Restaurant-bar closes at 8:30. It would be nice to have a drink after that but you have to go back to the plaza. Towels are thin and you have to ask for washcloths. Seems random to ask for washcloths. Overall: as long as you know your decor might be a little old it’s definitely worth it. The pros outnumber the cons.

Garza Canela is one of the best stays that I had. It was mainly because of the hospitality of the hotel. Let me summarize the stay in the below points: 1. The hotel ( as compared to the modern necessities) is on above average scale. 2. Has all facilities that you may want to be in a resort. 3. Rooms are in good condition. Clean rooms. 4. The swimming pool is very good and clean. 5. Very close to the center of the town. 6. Has a gift sjop within the complex. 7. Excellent restaurant. the chef (Betty) is permanent and world renowned. She has won several prizes around Mexico and US. very nice food. 8. Josefina sits on the front desk. Provides all info needed. 9. Hector - The man to go. He has a hand at the computers and takes care of the maintenance of the hotel. 10. There are other folks as well who serve the hotel. Every one is excellent in what ever they do. 11. Very kind and very friendly. 12. The restaurant closes at 08:30 PM. 13. The rooms are non smoking. But you can always come out of the room (each room has its own sit outs) and you can smoke there. 14. Nice gardens In total a very good stay. Very happy.

We spent several nights at this hotel as arranged by Mark Stackhouse who was leading us on a birdwatching trip. We were very happy with our experience. We wanted a king-size bed which meant an upgrade as the regular rooms were double beds only. It was worth it as we had a very large corner room with a large bath and closet. The weather was cool enough to leave the windows open but on a couple of weekend nights there was too much noise from the common areas for that. The fan of the air conditioner stays on, which was useful for blocking that noise. The hotel is on a quiet street and was generally quiet overall. We ate at the restaurant several times and enjoyed it very much. Everything was very well made, some dishes were unique and creative, and the staff was attentive without being overbearing. The drinks were well-made; we particularly liked having margaritas by the pool. The waiters spoke English as did Josefina at the front desk. It is very well located, with an easy walk to the plaza. We would definitely return to Hotel Garza Canela.

I just got back from a week-long stay at Hotel Garza Canela, and I can't rave enough about its hospitality. By the second day, the sisters who run the restaurant, Doris and Deanna, knew all of us by name and by food/drink preferences. This was a birding trip, and we had very early departures, and they were there to welcome us to an excellent breakfast buffet. Our rooms were charming and were conveniently situatated around the inviting pool. Highly recommend!!

The breakfast, although not included, was great. The coffee and fruit plates, in particular, were a perfect day starter. The bar was special and Julio was top notch. Josefina went above and beyond to be helpful. The staff, in general, was exceptional. Our poolside bungalow was quiet and pleasant.Loved our stay.
