Hotels.com has the location marked wrong on the map. It is NOT anywhere close to the beach. Luckily I was able to hitch a ride into Tamarindo and get a rental car for the duration of my stay. I probably would not have considered this place if it was marked correctly on the map, but I'im glad I stayed here. That being said, everything else about this place is great! Nice modern kitchen and outdoor grill. Everything was newly renovated and very clean. AC was nice and cold. My only gripe was that the shower sloped away from the drain resulting in a persistent puddle that gets kind of gross.

This place is amazing! Our second time here and we got a villa this time. Totally worth it! The villa is spacious, clean and a private pool was so amazing to have. Cala Luna feels safe as we traveled with our 3 kids. 2 teens and 6 year old. We are already planning our next trip back. We had Jose as our tour guide to Rio Celest and he knows everything about everything in the rainforest and about Costa Rica.

Me, my wife and son had a great time at Cala Luna. Its a unique setup indeed, with paths snaking through the jungle en-route to your room or villa. We arrived at night and it was rather impressive. The staff were friendly, professional and very attentive. The chefs/cooks are top notch. We had a secluded deluxe room which was really nice and private(until other guests arrived in the adjoining room). It was very clean with a soaker tub you can skate board in. The room isn't that large but was fine for us. Only small issue was the fact that there was a room attached and we could hear through the walls easily if you have loud neighbors. This was only for the last night before we left in the morning so I think they schedule the guests in a manner to help avoid this which was appreciated. The cleaning staff was very efficient. The beach was a short fun walk down a path at the rear near our room. We saw howler monkeys overhead, an eagle/hawk?(lol), and some other wildlife withing the hotel grounds. you might hear some action on your roof at night :). probably why you cant open the room windows. The hotel is in an awesome location, the perfect distance from the action to get peaceful nights and close enough to get the center of it all in minutes. Next time I think we will stay in one of the 2 bedroom villas they have with a private pool, private parking and separate entrance. I highly recommend Cala Luna. Pua Vida!

Beautiful small resort with dense jungle paths and lovely pool. Serene and very eco-friendly. Food was amazing and made from scratch with organic, plant-forward ingredients and fresh fish. Vegan options. Staff was great. Our king room was huge with double rain head showers. Beach is a very short walk past the pool, but small with rocks. Can easily walk to better beaches though. $5 ride into Tamarindo or walkable. If you want to be away from the busyness of Tamarindo, like we did, it's a great option. Already miss the food and the monkeys! Best green salad ever!

We had a wonderful stay. There was an issue with an air-conditioning unit which was fixed quickly and efficiently. The villa's private pools were lovely. The hotel pool kept us entertained with the monkeys in the trees above our heads. Great buffet breakfast included which set us up for the day.

My husband and I stayed at Cala Luna for four nights in February and had a great experience there. We enjoyed the boutique nature of the hotel and while all the rooms were full, it never felt overwhelming or like there were too many people around. While it is situated on the beach, it’s very rocky and not really swimmable, however, there is a complementary happy hour every night during sunset. We went to Playa Tamarindo to surf (Cala Luna offers lessons for $50 pp) and Playa Avellanos for relaxation (highly recommend). We also spent time at Cala Luna’s pool, which was refreshing and we never had trouble getting chairs. The food was great – wonderful breakfast buffet (included in our stay) and lots of fresh, healthy options for lunch and dinner. The fish cooked in papaya curry was particularly good. The service went above and beyond – the entire staff was friendly and hospitable and the front desk was helpful with suggestions and arranging taxis into town when we didn’t feel like walking. We also took advantage of the complementary yoga and workout classes, which were a nice offer and helped break up all the sitting around and drinking! The only downside to Cala Luna was the beds, particularly the pillows which we found to be really lumpy and the bedding which was a little too light when you have the A/C on. Kind of disappointing to pay $300+/night and not get great sleep, but all in all we still had a good time here and would recommend to anyone looking for a boutique hotel e

Quiet, peaceful and convenient location about 10-15 minutes from the center of Tamarindo and beaches. Fresh delicious breakfast every morning. Super helpful manager and staff. We stayed in a suite which was spacious and well stocked; took advantage of the plunge pool which was refreshing in the heat. Also enjoyed the peacock friends :)

Incredible first class attention from Arnoldo, all the staff and the chef. Rooms are spacious, new and clean, and the private pool is just excellent. The smaller size of the hotel allows you to receive an ad-personam treatment that it’s impossible to get even at the best hotel chains. Totally recommended!

Stop searching and book now. This place (the "Epic Boutique Hotel Tamarindo", Costa Rica) is an oasis, offering both family suites and couples (which each come with an individual small pool) there is a larger pool, and everyone can use. The breakfasts are delicious, made with love, each day offering a new Costa Rica inspired flavor (you can also request a traditional omelet, egg made your way and more). Arnold and the rest of the staff are fantastic, making sure your every need is met, restaurants recommended, offering favorite spots to visit, and more. Arnold set up a yoga instructor to come on site, it was wonderful. This spot is an oasis for those couples needing to reconnect, girl and guy friend get away, looking to sit at a bon fire and catch up, swim in the morning sun , families looking for a great spot away from the busy beaches, but close enough to be at flamingo or Tamarindo within a 10-20 min drive. Cannot say enough great things, this is boutique, catered experience, come see for yourselves ♥️💕😎

Everything! Home from home. Everything worked, everything was clean. The personal service for breakfast and the breakfasts were great. Evening by the pool, glass of wine - idyllic.

Arrival & Service • Free valet made having a rental car simple. • We were welcomed with a bottle of champagne and an upgraded suite arranged by Ayeisha, the W Insider who looked after us all week. She also secured a special dinner reservation that turned into the highlight of one evening and sent us home with local gourmet coffee. • Housekeeper Monica kept the suite immaculate and surprised us with chocolates, balloons, and decorations. • Chef Andre built a three-course dinner around the lobsters we caught on a private fishing trip—easily the best lobster we’ve had. • Vladimir (restaurant), Rahul, Javier, Miguel (dining teams), Allan (front desk—quick ATM help), and Guillermo (pool deck) all greeted us by name and made each interaction easy. Suite Large living area, separate bedroom, generous balcony, and a private plunge pool—plenty of space to relax between beach and activities. Food Breakfast offered new regional and international options every morning. Every on-site meal outperformed anything we tried off-property. Beach & Extras The resort’s beach felt quiet and safe; we swam far into the bay and saw only tropical fish and clear water. Takeaway Personal touches—from Ayeisha’s planning to the kitchen turning our day’s catch into dinner—made this stay memorable. We will be back for an anniversary.

Gorgeous property with stunning pools, delightful drinks, friendly staff. The 7 course tasting was outstanding! I wish I could get the recipe for the Arenal pairing. Folks with kids and without kids agreed the family pool and adult pool should be swapped. We traveled with kids and met other sweet families. Many didn’t realize there was a Kids Club with activities. We walked to the pool and dinners from Tower 2. Easy to get shuttles, but the views of monkeys, birds, coatis, iguana and trees made the walk enjoyable. The monkeys woke us up at 5 am, but we were staying on EST anyway. We booked last minute and had 2 King bed rooms which were gorgeous with a fantastic view of the mountains from the shower and balcony. One room was on the corner and caught a great breeze. Only negatives - food and drink prices add up! The reasonable kids meals were generously plated and the red snapper was outstanding. I also wish they had a normal coffee maker in the room. Ours seemed to be more espresso style - which is too much for us. Many people hopped vans and headed into Tamarindo which a a fantastic, walkable town. The beach was beautiful and not crowded at all, but everyone stayed in the pool. Interesting fact - Russian oligarch’s yacht, the Pacific, was anchored off the coast.

We loved our stay at the W Costa Rica. My kids loved the buffet , especially in the mornjng. The food was great. The pools were also great although the kids/family pool is far away compared to the adult pool. We also liked the different restaurants available and the concierge to book excursions was very good. The area itself doesn’t have much and the beach while nice to be close wasn’t amazing. All that said , the kids loved it and that itself was enough. Also the service we received was fantastic!!

This resort was an absolute perfect getaway. The property is beautiful nestled into the hill along Playa Conchal. Both swimming areas (Wet Zone - adults only, larger pool with hot tub - and Zona Azul, the smaller but still spacious pool right next to the beach) are lovely to enjoy. Our room was in Tower 1 (closest to the Living Room) with an ocean view over the trees between our building and the beach. It was spacious and comfortable and I loved our balcony. The wildlife sightings for not even leaving the resort were great - lots of birds, iguanas of all sizes, howler monkeys, deer, small lizards... The service could not be beat. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Salud to everyone who took care of us especially Carlos & Carlos in the Living Room, Kevin who seemed to be everywhere, Franden (Frank) at Zona Azul, and everyone at the Wet bar. We look forward to coming back!

We absolutely loved our stay here. We travel a lot and it was probably one of our favourite experiences at a resort in a long time. From the beautiful, lush grounds with so many animals and birds, to the amazing food and cocktails, to the incredible staff (especially Guillermo who was our favourite at the adult pool bar as well as Carlos the bartender in the Living room, and Bernice at Zona Azul). We loved the more relaxed vibe here. The infinity pool at the beach bar Zona Azul was stunning. Just off the beach with trees, plants and flowers all around. There was a great little gym with good equipment. It was handy having a shuttle that you pay to head into Tamarindo. We would definitely return again.

Overall a nice quiet place to rest at night. Having a little kitchen with fridge is also great. The property is small so not a lot of room to lounge outside or by the pool.

What a beautiful spot. Little bit outside of the core, but it was quiet and the free bikes were a great way to get around town! We will be back for sure!

We chose this particular lodging option so that we could have a separate sleeping room from our kids, and this space worked very well for that. The private mini pool was a lot of fun for them. And the kitchen facilities were quite nice. Although the villas were kind of at the edge of town, it was still very easy to walk to shops, restaurants, and the beach.

Loved the design of the home. So spacious and stylish, felt like we were at our own private villa in Greece! Stunning!

I liked the concept, and the possibility of having a lot of privacy.

This was a perfect fit for our quick trip to Tamarindo. Easy walking (a block from the Main Street) to all the shops and restaurants as well as the beach. Check in was easy and very efficient - including a tour of the unit ( we had a two bedroom by the pool) to show us all the options and amenities. Breakfast (def chose the room option that includes breakfast!) was a delight. Fresh coffee and fresh made typical (eggs, chorizo, beans and rice) were served on our outside table in the morning. Everything was fresh and delicious. The pool was clean and well cared for, and lush foliage helps create privacy between the pool and the units.

We had a fantastic stay at Ten North Hotel in the heart of Tamarindo. The location is perfect—just a 5-minute walk to the beach and right in the vibrant city center, making it easy to explore everything the town has to offer. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and spotless, with the added bonus of being poolside. It was great to start the day with a refreshing swim and, in the evening, relax by the pool with a cold ginger ale in hand. Breakfast was delicious, but what truly made our stay special was the hospitality of Juan and Karol—they went above and beyond to share their local tips and recommendations. Such wonderful people! We highly recommend Ten North Hotel for anyone visiting Tamarindo. Looking forward to coming back!

Absolutely loved my solo stay at Ten North! From the moment I arrived I was welcomed with such warmth and also a cold beer by Juan at reception. The room was beautiful and clean and the pool area was perfect for chilling and lounging by the pool. I’m vegan, and the staff including Caro made sure I always had a filling delicious breakfast. The hotel is a short few minutes from the beach and super close to restaurants and the grocery store. Another highlight for me was the sweetest small cat who hangs around and the staff look after her. I wouldn’t hesitate to book this place again and highly recommend!

Centrally located, a short walk from the beach, with incredibly attentive staff and a fantastic breakfast. Small but homey, with a pool centering the courtyard. Staff will happily arrange anything you need (tours, laundry, transportation, etc). Clean within a fairly dirty town (a nice respite). Nextdoor to a park with basketball hoops and a lively weekend scene, which can get loud, but noise machines in each room easily drown out the nightlife. Supermarket right across the street, and many restaurants an easy walk away. AC in each room works great, and they provide towels for the pool and beach, as well as chairs, umbrellas, etc. Overall a fantastic place.

Great location 5 minutes walk from the beach but tucked away on a side street away from the busier roads. We requested a vegan breakfast when we booked and Laura cooked different dishes for us every day. From traditional Costa Rican, vegan omelette to pancakes (which were the highlight). Our room was poolside. It had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable. There was a white noise machine to use in case of any noise during the night time but we found it wasn't necessary and switched it off. Pool was perfect for a quick dip to cool off and to relax by.

Excellent central location, clean and has very friendly and helpful staff. Very nice private pool and area. Can be a little noisy from the skate park however still a great place to stay. Would recommend.

I took a last-minute trip with a friend, and we stayed in the smallest & most affordable room. We highly recommend Ten North! I don't know which was better: the breakfast (Laura is an excellent cook), price, location or pool! I brought two floats from home, but they supplied two noodles. The pool was refreshing and clean. The trees provided great shade and I spent hours reading in the pool or on our patio. On Saturday I even floated listening to the music from the delightful Farmer's Market (on the other side of the hotel). Our room was wonderfully air-conditioned and the bed was comfy. The noise machine was a nice touch; noise from Friday & Saturday nightlife didn't bother us. There were plenty of drawers to unpack and we utilized the mini fridge. Pool and bathroom towels were switched out daily. Breakfasts were A++ and different daily. They kept us happy & full enough that we ate lightly for lunch. Laura was ready to serve up breakfast between 7-9 daily and we looked forward to it! The location of Ten North is great- walkable to everything. The construction, though, was not great, since you had to really watch where you stepped and avoid hazards- but, I noticed that many roads nearby had issues. Lastly, the little grocery store is steps away and on the 5th floor above it was an excellent pizza place on the roof with the best sunset views- make sure to go before the sunset, order a drink & get a pizza! All in all, I loved this hotel and will be back!

A home away from home. My wife and I had the queen poolside room while the kids had the poolside apartment. It worked out great. The rooms were comfortable as a result of the AC and the overhead fan. The dining table and chairs provided a relaxing spot for morning coffee and breakfast. The pool was clean and refreshing. Having the ice maker and water dispenser at our disposal was fantastic. But the best part of the stay was the staff. We were treated kindly at all times. Laura was a sweetheart with a warm smile. She made us a delicious breakfast every morning and had the coffee ready early. Thank you Laura!!

We loved the small 2-bedroom apartment we booked for 3 weeks in July. For 2 kids and one adult it was perfect in size. It got a bit messy when we were 4 people. However, you are usually out and about and everything is close by on foot... Biggest plus: you are at the beach in 3 minutes! The pool is cleaned daily and really well taken care off. Our apartment was right by the pool and the kids loved to dip into it daily, and I could see them from the apartment and veranda. The ladies who cook breakfast and clean the rooms are very attentive and caring. Nothing was overlooked and everything was well stocked. The ice machine and filtered water dispenser is convenient for refilling your own water bottles. The kitchen is basic equipped, for a salad and pasta night with kids it works fine. The noise from the clubs can't be heard in the apartment bedrooms, and all bedrooms have A/C. And last but not least, for any trips you want to take or cabs you need to book, just ask the front desk. They are very helpful.

Great location. 3 min walk down to the beach and walkable to all major restaurants and bars. It was nice being able to cool off in the pool after a full day at the beach. There is a grocery store that is literally across the street so if you need anything you can walk over grab some food or even some beers for when you are lounging around the pool. Small quaint hotel where you will be able to meet lots of people from all over the world.

We had a fantastic stay recently at Refugio Lodge. The rooms were very clean and had comfortable beds with A/C in the room. Outside the room we were able to enjoy the nice lounge area with pool. With it being a smaller hotel you weren’t having to share the pool with a lot of people like you would see at many other hotels. In most times it was almost like your own private pool. This was definitely a highlight. The breakfast every morning was amazing! I would say best coffee and breakfast food in town! It is very centrally located and you can easily walk to the beach, shopping and the many restaurants in town. It is noisy at night with the surrounding bars and restaurant but nothing ear plugs didn’t take care of. The central location more than made up for the noise. The highlight was the guest experience from the staff. All of the staff at the cafe and bar were very friendly and helpful. Agustín was especially helpful with checking us in and out and was always available to help with planning things to do in town and was a great help to be able to navigate the town and find the best activities and events to fill our time! We would stay here again and again!

This was our first time staying in Tamarindo, and Agustín made sure that our trip was perfect. We will definitely be back to stay at Refugio Lodge. Agustín goes above and beyond to help arrange everything you need during your stay - from transportation, to outings like surfing and crocodile tours. He also made a point to tell us about good spots to visit, and interesting things happening nearby, such as the night market that is just down the street on Thursdays. Refugio Lodge is small - just six rooms - so you often have the pool to yourself, and you get personal attention from staff that would not be possible at a bigger place. Your stay includes a fantastic breakfast and some of the best coffee in the area every morning. The beds were comfortable and the courtyard is beautiful. The location is close to everything -- grocery stores, banks, great food, the beach, shopping, it's all right there. Keep in mind that the trade off for a great location is that you are in the center of town, and Tamarindo knows how to party, so you will be surrounded by restaurants and bars playing loud live music at night, especially on Fridays and Saturdays. Refugio warned us about the noise when we booked, so we brought earplugs and didn't have any trouble going to sleep. It was also nice and quiet by 2am. But it is important to book with realistic expectations about the area. Thank you Refugio Lodge for hosting us, we couldn't have imagined a better stay.

This place is perfect for a week long getaway! It can be a bit loud at night, but it was nothing that kept us awake at all. The pool was the perfect spot to take a cool dip after a hot day on the beach, and the staff were all the most friendly folks you can ask for. They made every effort to make sure we were comfortable and taken care of. The food at the lodge is also excellent, and we could have eaten it every night if we wanted. Definitely would recommend, and we hope to return soon!

Had a lovely staff at Refugio Lodge, all the staff I met was friendly and welcoming. Pool was nice and refreshing after a day of being out. Refugio is ideally located in the heart of Tama so location was perfect for both beach and nightlife. Breakfast being included was great as this town could be as expensive as NY price-wise, yes New York. Agustin was helpful and always easy to reach via WhatsApp. Thank you to everyone at Refugio for making my stay great.

Refugio Lodge was perfect! It’s within walking distance to the beach, offers delicious food (the breakfast options are amazing), and has a great swimming pool. For anyone visiting Tamarindo, I highly recommend it. Agustin is extremely thorough with communication. The staff working are also very helpful and friendly.

Very nice. On hill overlooking Tamarindo and ocean. Very quiet. Only five rooms with shared living room and kitchen. Clean. Nice pool. Rooms on top and middle levels have very nice view. Check-in done through rental agency office at base of hill. This was not clear during reservation process. Driver helped find hotel and check-in. Cleaning staff came but no on-site host when we were there.

This was a great place. The room was lovely, the bed was comfy and the shower is really powerful. The pool is great for a cool down and the trees next to the pool had a variety of colourful birds that would visit. I loved the breakfast here. I had the avocado toast with scrambled egg and it’s delicious. If we visit again and I would definitely stay here. It’s on a quiet street with parking, but only 5 minutes walk to the centre of Tamarindo. The beach is very close by also.

ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING! The warm welcome was genuine and kind. We were allowed early checking since our room was ready. We were provided a map of the town and Elise took the time to go over the town and beaches with us (they do this often in Europe.) The room was close walking distance to everything in Tamarindo, including the beach, shops, and restaurants. The breakfast was quaint and delicious ou ser the covered patio. I recommend the avocado toast with eggs on top- delicious! There are lawn chairs at the pool, and some in the shade!!!! The room is modern and clean, with two complimentary bottles of water. The A/C works great and there’s a mini-frig. Elise, the owner, pointed out some monkeys you could see from the property. We could leave our luggage after check-out for a later shuttle. It’s safe; there is gate code to enter property. There’s also a filtered cold/hot water dispenser for guests to use. If you’re looking for a clean, well-kept, place with an owner that takes pride look no further!!! a highly recommend!!

Spent 3 nights and really loved it. The location is superb! Walking distance to everything - supermarket, bank, restaurants, bars, markets, beach, shopping - yet somehow slightly tucked away on a peaceful street. Perfect. The rooms are clean and comfortable as shown, plenty of clean towels and a fresh tasty breakfast. Beautiful sounds of nature in the morning. The pool is kept very clean and there is plenty of sunbathing/chill out space. Night security, though we felt completely safe walking in and around the whole area during the day and night. The owner is very down to earth, and provided tips on local activities. There is a lot to do and see in the area. We had a car during our 2-week trip, but didn't need it at all for this part of the trip. I would definitely recommend staying in Tamarindo for longer if you can.

I absolutely loved my stay at Elixir Hotel! 🌟 This is not your typical touristy resort; it's a unique gem. Run by the owner, who prepares made to order breakfast from a few options she makes available daily. The rooms are cleaned daily, and Eliza even maintains the pool herself. Waking up to nature's sounds and stunning sunrises was magical. Plus, it's just a 5-minute walk from Tamarindo's city center, perfect for nightlife enthusiasts. Countless beachfront restaurants, food courts, and vibrant street markets await! 🌅🏝️🍽️ Most importantly I felt comfortable and safe my entire stay & as a solo traveler that’s number one for me. I had to rush out to catch my transportation that showed up early!!! I was rushing so bad but Elize still managed to make me breakfast to take on the road with me!! Y’all that AVOCADO TOAST!!!!! 🔥😍👌🏾

The location was perfect! Just far enough from the center for it to be quiet but literally minutes walking from shopping, restaurants and bars and the beach! The hotel is new and clean and I enjoyed the pool. Elisa was so kind and accommodating and great with communication prior to and during my trip. This is the kind of hotel and staff that you want your money to go to. You can tell they care about their guests and take pride in the property. I had an early morning excursion one day and the cook was so kind to get me breakfast and coffee before his shift even started which was so appreciated!!! I would absolutely stay again when back in Tamarindo!

I absolutely loved the plants, trees at this place,I saw a few iguanas, hummingbirds they came to suck nectar of flowers, while I was sitting by the pool, the pool is very nice and clean, I enjoyed with my family and my little niece. the whole experience was amazing. The restaurant food is amazing very authentic Costa Rican. We had Costa Rican breakfast and it was delicious that Pinto., and we just arrived there the waiter make us a nice cold drink which it was delicious and refreshing. Thank you so much for your welcoming. It was an amazing experience for me and my sisters.💕 I will recommend this place 100%.

This charming hotel had a great restaurant and beautiful pool. The staff was kind and welcoming. We loved that it was in the heart of Brasilito and we learned a little about the culture. Our stay was short but we would stay longer next time and enjoy relaxing by the pool and listening to the evening music.

Staff were friendly, pool and garden area was exactly as in photos. Relaxed by the pool for the day!

The Conchal is a roadside B and B with simple clean rooms and a lush courtyard pool surrounded by beautiful trees and plants with birds , poolside iguanas , and the occasional troop of howler monkeys which get very excited - or mad? - when a scooter passes by 😀 the fresh juices at the papaya restaurant are wonderful and the guacamole is heaven . the staff are very helpful and friendly . the only downside , which is not the hotels fault , is that there is currently a bridge being built 100 meters away which makes it impassable for a vehicle so a rather long detour to drive to the north end of brasilito beach which is the best part . it’s about 5 minutes to the middle beach walking , and another ten south to playa conchal which is a breathtaking beach and fantastic for snorkeling .

The relaxing pool area that had some interesting native animals hanging around like Iguanas, butterfly's and birds. The breakfast was really nice. They thought of all the little details from having laundry service, all-day coffee, an ice machine and pool/beach towels available. Walking distance to the little city and close to the beautiful Conchal beach.

We liked everything about In The Shade. The location is in the heart of Tamarindo. The hotel is adult only and that benefit was fabulous! The pool is pristine. The staff is absolutely unbelievably great when it comes to service and assistance for setting up excursions and they are friendly. It seems to me that the entire staff wants their visitors to relax, enjoy and leave the work to them. I cannot say enough great things about the staff—10 out of 10!!!! The food they cook by the pool is amazing. The price per night is great too. Also the Dragonfly restaurant next door has fabulous food and live music.

The rooms are very well kept and clean. Nice sheets and really comfortable mattress. We really enjoyed the pool area and pool. The staff and all other guest we met were very helpful and friendly. The property is clean and well maintained as well. The cafe had delicious food and coffee. The coworking area is great if you need that. Fast internet. we would totally recommend this place!

Internet speed, nice pool for swimming, free of charge towels for beach and pool, close to shops, and max 10 min walk to the beach, filtered water available 24 hours.

Our stay was wonderful from the moment that we arrived. The staff went above and beyond for every question or request. The Cafe onsite was some of the best food in town and the pool (in the shade most of the times that we required a moment of respite) was always refreshing. Our room was small, which was perfect in its own way, because we were there to be outside and experience a different culture. They had a smart tv and we didn’t have to worry about outlet converters for out electronics. The shower had hot water (my husband was just being special and turned the knob the wrong way). The smoothies and coffee were a great way to start the day. Everything was great. We would have stayed longer, if I didn’t have to go home to my dogs!

Friendly and helpful staff. Very spacious room with super large and very comfortable bed. Good air conditioning system, large wardrobe with safe and very hot and powerful shower. The swimming pool was lovely and of a very good size. The hotel location is great as right in the centre of Tamarindo, close to bars, restaurants, shops and the beach but yet it’s very quiet as set back from the main road. The only bit of noise came from the adjacent restaurant but it was all over by 10:00/10:30PM. The hotel offers free coffees in the morning and there is filtered water available 24hrs a day. The whole place was extremely clean and great to be able to park the car on the premises.

Loved the property. Room was clean and property was well maintained. Pool was so refreshing in the hot heat. There are new owners. Didn’t interact much with them. Breakfast every morning was amazing Snyder was such a pleasure and cooked breakfast wonderfully. Loved the fresh fruit, coffee needs work sadly. I’m love with the Raw Organic Banana Hair conditioner my hair was so soft! More sun space would be nice around the pool. The rooms were cleaned daily and bed was made. One morning I wanted to sleep in and the cleaner was knocking on my door at 9:30am. Having a do not disturb or do not clean sign would be a great suggestion! Would I visit again. Yes it was in a great location and quiet part of town close to the beach.

Beautiful property, outstanding pool, yummy breakfast! The room was comfortable with organic everything! It is quiet, felt romantic, but certainly could bring a group of people and each have a room around the pool!

We came for a friend’s wedding, and were immediately impressed by how charming and friendly the environment was. Our greeter offered us water because it was SO hot out, and quickly got us our room key. The next morning when we gave our names, Johanna was our breakfast server as well as the person we had been messaging with to request an iron for our wedding fits. :) It’s little touches like that that I will remember about my stay. Yes, you are staying in a place that is next to the wild- there will be the occasional ant or spider. But the A/C works very well, the shower is nice, the bed is not uncomfortable. My husband enjoyed the pool. There are also a couple relaxing covered hammocks on site, a lovely rock in one at the end of the day was a bonus. It was a great home base for our adventures and was so nice to have freshly chosen fruit served in the morning. If what you need is cute, clean accommodations with a great sense of community? Boho is for you.

My recent stay at Boho Tamarindo (mother-daughter trip) was exceptional. The hotel was impeccably clean. The room was very comfortable, simple and modern. We enjoyed the pool and also the dining deck that looked out to a wooded area, watched some wildlife of birds and squirrels. The service was outstanding, our chef Snider prepared our meals each morning, beautifully presented and wonderful he was also was very helpful with assisting with several of our excursions. Overall, a wonderful stay, Toni was quick to respond for helping us check in, since it was after 5pm. We also loved the location, easy enough to walk everywhere, yet in a quiet area. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a memorable stay in Tamarindo. Pura Vida

Boho for us, a couple, was perfect. Situated just a 3 min walk from the beach and a 6 min walk from the town, it provides a quiet, very clean, relaxing bubble amidst the business that can be Tamarindo. The rooms are stylish, beds are very comfortable and king size, bathrooms sparkling clean, pool and common areas again clean and comfortable, breakfast is perfect to start the day - ranging from pancakes, yuevos rancheros, cereal, ect. Above all, though, the hosts Johanna and Greg are the highlight. As nice and accommodating as could be. Folks, if Boho has availability, grab your room while you can!

We had a great stay at the hotel and all the staff was extremely friendly. There is a nice pool to soak away with hot coffee and a mini fridge with cold drinks next to the pool. If you dont speak Spanish that is no problem as the staff speaks good English. Best part there is no party or bar noise which is common in beach towns. We walked to the beach each day, walking around after dark is very safe and secure. You cant go wrong if you pick this hotel.

We had a great ten night stay at Tamarindo Bay Hotel. Marie and the staff were great and added a wonderful personal touch to every single day. The pool was nice and the seating area around the pool absolutely unbeatable. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a boutique feel for their vacation. If we return to Tamarindo, we will most likely stay at Tamarindo Bay again.

I felt very safe and comfortable at the Tamarindo Bay Boutique Hotel. There were all types of seating around the property to just relax in (lounge chairs, hammocks, etc) as well as games (corn hole, Jenga), an outdoor gym (limited, but enough to get a workout in if you choose to), and fresh coffee every morning. Eating breakfast on the Terraza every morning was a great start to each day, and a dip in the pool each night was a great way to end them. The management (as well as most of the town) are very eco conscious which was another plus for me. Finally, it is so close to everything you need: the beach, restaurants (amazing food!), the bank, a market, shops, and the farmers market. Definitely would stay here again.

We stayed here September if 2021 and we had an amazing stay! The rooms were clean and spacious,the pool was just perfect and the entire hotel is so green and tasteful, but on top of all of it,you got such a nice staff that are always happy to help! You can always count on Marie’s advices and tips because she doesn’t recommend based on businesses and and partnerships, she will tell you about the places she goes to and where are her actual favorite spots and she never misses,we had so much fun there we extended our stay at Tamarindo for that,We became friends with them and especially Marie! This property is a hidden little gem. It’s close to city centre and to the beach, yet far enough to feel like you are in your own peaceful haven. The room is very well set up and overlooks the pool area. It was so relaxing to wake up to the sound of the birds and rustling sound of the beautiful trees. The entire staff at The Tamarindo Bay Boutique hotel were very friendly and helpful. We are definitely looking forward to going back.

Beautiful facility, staff was impeccable in every manner. The location is perfect for walking everywhere, and access to the beach with the private pool and cabana was more than expected.

We really loved everything about the resort. The staff was incredibly friendly and accomodating, the grounds including the pool and beach area were beautiful. We loved the small infinity pool and bar at the beach area! Breakfast was exceptional-something for everyone. We had 3 dinners and they were all fantastic. Our room had a balcony with a view of the ocean and sunsets (although we were down on the beach at sunset time). We even saw a family of monkeys climbing through the trees!

Beautiful gardens with easy access to the beach and a wonderful pool. I liked the feeling of space and not too overcrowded even though full. Always space around the pool. The food was excellent. I enjoyed the free wellbeing classes, including yoga.

I loved how the hotel was set up. The restaurant and pool area were beautiful. It was also very nice that we had access to a part of the beach with a small pool, clean bathroom, bar and lounge chairs.

Exceptional ! Room was large and very clean with a nice little balcony overlooking the pool. Location was superb, we could walk into town within a few minutes. Staff were always friendly and attentive. Dinner was always different every day and good quality ! Bonus was as they are partners with the Diría hotel we were given a voucher and were able to have dinner at one of the partner restaurants! Hotel grounds are beautiful , very well maintained and the hotel was never too busy. The pool was also beautiful !

Sophie the French owner created a beautiful garden with lovely cabanas. It was peaceful and idyllic. Breakfast was very nice. Pool was lovely. She upgraded us which was very kind. The outdoor bathroom was very romantic. The most beautiful beach Playa Grande was 5 mins by car. We also loved playa conchal in the morning 20.mins away. Lolas cafe was great too about 1 hour away. She gave us good advice. We saw monkeys play by the pool up on the trees which was magical. Loved it.

The tent itself was well equipped & with a comfortable bed and a beautiful outdoor shower and little deck at the front, all completely surrounded by lush planting. it was just heaven. The communal gardens were gorgeous, we saw howler monkeys every day in the trees. A gorgeous little swimming pool, perfect for cooling off. And the staff were amazingly friendly and so helpful, especially Adrien who made us so welcome & gave us lots of information about the accommodation & the local area. we would recommend Flor y Bambu to anyone visiting the Playa Grande area. it’s not just a bed for the night, but a memorable experience that shows you exactly what this Pura Vida thing is all about!

The property is beautiful and the cabanas were so well thought out, with privacy and open air rooms. The outdoor shower and hammocks added to the experience. We enjoyed the pool and communal kitchen area. Breakfast was lovely and it was nice to have the option to cook on our own if we chose. Adrian and Sophie were very friendly and helpful giving us pointers for our stay or making calls for us. We really enjoyed the small community, restaurant options and beach. Having just returned from our 2 week trip, this was probably my favorite place we stayed, and we stayed in a variety of hotels/locations.

The location is absolutely perfect, offering breathtaking nature and a beautiful garden & pool area. The breakfast was very good with a variety of delicious options to start the day right. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the glamping tent. It was uniquely beautiful, providing a perfect blend of comfort and nature. Overall, it was an outstanding experience, and we highly recommend Flor y Bambu to anyone looking for a memorable getaway.

The room was amazing - open to the nature. The hotel garden is beautiful, lot of plants, flowers, bee hives, even got the visit of animals like monkeys. Peaceful swimming pool to relax. Good breakfast. Welcoming hosts.

this property was fantastic and perfect for what we needed. The pool and lounge area is adorable and well styled. The room is comfortable, cute, and spacious. I like that there was plenty of space to put clothes and plenty of shelving to unpack. The bed was also super comfortable. The air conditioner worked fantastic and the staff was extremely friendly and super helpful with whatever we needed. I liked the location because we could use the gym next-door and we could easily walk to the beach, the local restaurants, and the local grocery store. Our room also had a refrigerator which was convenient for snacks and drinks.

The hotel is located a little from the center like 5 minutes walking distance and that we liked a lot, because it was guiet. There is a main building and a few wooden bungalows. There is a nice size swimming pool with pleasant area to relax and read. The entire property is fenced and you can hear and see howler monkeys in the mornings. Incredible experience. The room we got was big enough and clean. The breakfast was mega delicious and the staff was very nice and helpful. We love it there and we will choose the same hotel if we will go there .

Breakfast was exceptional, perfectly sized pool, strong A/C, 5 minutes walking from city center and beach, and the staff were eager to help you with anything you need. I am a "type A" planner, and I always worry about booking travel and accommodations. With this one you don't need to worry about anything! I can't say enough about this small hotel. There was nothing lacking and I loved all the hammocks, bamboo designs and the house iguana. Truly felt like you were in Costa Rica and not another standard hotel.

The rooms were clean, staff was friendly and they had towels for use at the pool or beach. They were helpful in setting up our first tour and communication prior to our arrival was excellent. The common area was great for relaxing - other guests were friendly too.

We stayed iAt El Manglar for 9 nights. The hotel is in great location to the beach, just short walk across the street through forested area where yoga and relaxation area is with fire pit and basketball court. El Manglar is located on Playa Grande separated from Tamarindo by estuary (only 15 minute walk from El Manglar). You can cross it to Tamarindo when tide is low but it's not recommended due to presence of crocodiles... There is water "taxi", local fishermen will give you ride for $1 USD. Playa Grande is beautiful, very clean and not crowded like Tamarindo, with amazing sunsets and great surfing spots. We are so happy we stayed there and not in Tamarindo, away from crowds, noise, smell and garbage...There is nice pool at the hotel with swim up bar where you can relax , read or work on laptop (free WiFi). At the time of our stay hotel was full but it did not fee like was crowded at the pool, there was always place to sit and relax. There is outdoor fully equipped kitchen for everybody to use (There is great restaurant right by the hotel and couple down the street, too) , several relaxation areas with hammocks and chairs. All grounds are well kept, all feel like garden. Everyone in the staff were very nice and helpful, especially Engelberth (thank you for booking our surf lessons and recommending instructor, I think his name was Chico), but also Yorya and Andrea made our stay very pleasant. We will definitely come back.

What a beautiful spot. The beach is just a couple of minutes walk away...uncrowded and clean. During the hottest time of day the pool and pool area is cool and restful. We were in one of the spots on the ground floor with kitchen, sitting area and outside table, chairs and barbeque. there were 12 of us so this was our main area to be together and right in front of the pool area. Only one thing to watch out for... when we used the barbeque the smoke came into our rooms. Easy fix is to use the outdoor kitchen area on the other side of the pool to cook at. Not a big fix at all. We are already planning to come back and stay longer next time. Loved the staff, loved the hotel, loved the restaurants close by, loved the surfing opportunities, loved everything about it.

The property was very stylish and well laid out. The beach access was also very nice with keyless entry with a code. We did have an issue with very loud guests at the pool one day, but they settled them down. The hot water had to be fixed (brrrrr), but the staff was very helpful with meeting our needs. I enjoyed the time there although we couldn't get the tv to work for the whole trip. We really enjoyed the refreshing pool and pool-side lounging areas. The restaurants around the hotel were very good and walkable.

Good accommodation but not a ‘villa’ and quite a dark apartment. Primary problem was development noise (hammering / drilling) next door stopped us sitting outside or using the pool. Also the gardener was using a leaf blower whilst we were at the pool - too much noise - we had to leave the pool - give him a broom !!

We stayed at this hotel for a week and we would definitely come back! It was so clean and felt really safe. We stayed with our kids which are 8 and 11 and they also had a great time. The hammock was a hit with the kids as well as the pool. The pool was super clean and we saw people cleaning it daily. We rented the apartment room for a little privacy from the kids. They had a room downstairs and we had the loft upstairs. We enjoyed the one minute walk to the beach every morning and every night to watch the sunset over playa grande, and it was the most beautiful thing we have seen. We saw monkeys one afternoon on our walk to the beach, quite a few iguanas and even more lizards. Wonderful place to stay for a family!

Breakfast was great every day and had a lot of options. The pool had the best view ever and was clean with a swim-up bar! There were some tiles missing and some areas that could be updated but overall it was all great for the price

Distance from the town center is nice as you aren't in the hustle and bustle all day. View from the balcony is great as it overlooks the trees/beach. Infinity pool and swim-up bar are very nice. Breakfast was good but not great, staff was very pleasant.

Breakfast is very good. Bed very comfortable. Free hourly shuttle to Tamarindo or the beach club excellent. Once the infinity pool and swim up bar are reopened that will be a great asset!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is up on a hill 5 min drive from the main shopping area of Tamarindo. The pool area and view of the ocean is amazing. The room was nice, clean, comfortable and had a balcony with an incredible view of the pool and ocean. Breakfast was good. The best part was the bonus of the Langosta Beach Club included in the stay. We loved the pool, beachfront lounge chairs, shade and facilities here and enjoyed the food and happy hour cocktail’s. The shuttle provided by the Wyndham hotel made it easy to go from the hotel to town and beach club and back. We walked a few times for exercise and felt safe the whole time.

Beautiful setting with stunning views. Staff are all amazing and nothing is too much trouble. Room was very comfortable and clean. Pool is fantastic and I loved seeing all the spectacular wildlife while swimming in the pool. Free shuttle bus to town works well and loved the beach club you have free access to use there.

Excellent service. Not too large. Quiet. Great location. Three minutes from beach. Private pool with bar beachside. Not crowded. Friendly staff. Front desk staff very efficient and accommodating. Kudos to Leo, Dylan, and Monse. We would also like to recognize Alan from the pool bar next to the beach.

My husband and I stayed 4 nights. The location is great. We were able to walk into town to get drinks and see a few restaurants off the property. The food on site is AMAZING. Way better than other all inclusives we have been to. The pool is small but tranquil & they play relaxing music. The beach bar is fun in the afternoons or at sunset. I had read reviews prior to booking about “Kevin” on staff bartending. I’m not sure if he was having a bad week, but we found him a little snarky and short. He did not make any attempt at conversation. Alan, however is awesome. He engaged and wanted to teach us about Costa Rica & was interested in learning about guests. Most of the staff was soo friendly. I would highly recommend going off-property to Sibou Spa for the most relaxing massage IN THE JUNGLE while hearing wild monkeys & birds. (It was expensive but money well spent and they include lunch and a private pool afterwards). We will be back to this resort. It’s definitely not a party vibe, no swim up bar and most of the couples range from late 30’s and up. Only Con- The rooms are outdated. Showers were lackluster and I wouldnt upgrade the room to add a hot tub. It was $500 extra to upgrade to one but it took an hour to heat up and it was old so we honestly barely used it. Pura vida

Absolutely stunning resort. The private beach area was so nice! It had plenty of shade, a small pool (the cold temperature felt amazing during the hot day), daybeds with soft shades, and a full bar with the option to order food! The pool within the hotel was extremely nice. The resort is absolutely pristine and we saw staff cleaning the floors and pool all day throughout the property. The only feedback I would give is on Friday morning there weren't many protein options other than the omelette station. Having some other proteins (sausage, ham, vegan protein) would have been nice!

Our stay at the hotel was very pleasant. Parking is available and conveniently close to the hotel. Check-in and check-out were quick and problem-free. Be aware that the hotel blocks $300 for potential expenses, which is refunded at check-out if unused. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We also really enjoyed the food at the restaurant—both breakfast and dinner were very good, and the waiters were exceptionally friendly. The pool is a bit unusual for this type of hotel: with a depth of 1.9m it’s more suited for swimming than relaxing, but at the same time it’s a bit too small to swim properly. Still, it was very clean and refreshing. The beach is just a three-minute walk along a private path, where towels are provided and there’s also a beach bar (plus another pool, which we didn’t use). The sunset views from the private area before the beach were absolutely breathtaking. Another plus is the proximity to town—you can easily walk there, and you’ll find plenty of bars, restaurants, and shopping opportunities. The local market is also lovely for a stroll. In town you’ll also find an ATM where you can withdraw either Colones or US Dollars. Would I come back? Yes.

El Jardin del Eden is a tranquil and absolutely stunning oasis in the middle of a bustling Tamarindo! The property is studded with lush tropical greenery all throughout. The restaurant, La Plumeria, feels rustic and serves a variety of dishes every single day! In my 6-night stay I enjoyed 6 different 3-course meal dishes. One of the highlights of this boutique hotel is that the price of stay, while high, includes breakfast and dinner options. There’s a medium-sized pool nested right in the middle of the property, adjacent to the restaurant. You can enjoy a relaxing day by the pool enjoying a variety of drinks served by the staff (drinks not included in the price of stay so you’ll be charged, just an FYI). Additionally, the staff has been very friendly and everybody tried to accommodate our requests. For example, a nice lady at the tour desk helped me book a round trip taxi to Playa Langosta. Speaking of Playa Langosta, it’s a must-visit if you are staying in Tamarindo. Finally, the hotel is beautifully located on Central Street, and you can easily walk to any and all restaurants, bars, surfing grounds, and the beach. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at El Jardin del Eden!
