Fantastic location on the beach, ask for a ground floor sea facing room, french windows open out to pool area and pool overlooks the beach - stunning. Breakfast buffet had a mix of foods, do try the curry and rice option. Fabulous beach side restuarants within minutes from the hotel (along the beach)

Had a great experience at Pandanus Beach Resort. Everything: location, room, restaurant, view, pool, beach was absolutely delightful! Hotel Staff members were friendly and very helpful. Everything was immaculate, clean and tidy. Pleasant surprise was an invitation to cocktail party by the Hotel management, where we had amazing time communicating with other guests and having delicious drinks. Left with lots of amazing memories staring with early morning walks on the beach, relaxing time on sunbed and warm waves of the ocean, dinners with delicious food and life music…. If I ever return to Sri Lanka, the Pandanus Beach Resort is the Hotel I am definitely going to stay!

We had a wonderful and amazing one-night full board stay at Sheraton Turtle Beach Resort Kosgoda! We reserved a garden-view room with a plunge pool, which was private, relaxing, and perfect. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed, and the service throughout our stay was remarkable. Specially thanks to the reception staff, Dilshan and the entire team were courteous, professional, and always ready to assist with genuine care. The service was excellent.

I have stayed in this area 8 times in various hotels and this is definitely the BEST food! I was really impressed with both the buffet and room service in terms of quality and range, especially the egg free breakfasts and labelling on menus. The vegetable lasagne on room service is incredible, highly recommend. Room is clean and plunge pool immaculate, no complaints at all.

This was my second time at this property. Last time, I stayed in a private pool villa. Since I traveled alone this time, I chose a standard room. The room size is quite small but still suitable for a solo traveler. I encountered an issue 15 minutes after check-in, but it was resolved quickly. The hotel is very clean, and the staff are friendly. I particularly liked my room because it faced the beach. As I mentioned, the issue I had was addressed promptly, and the key person responsible was the very professional Guest Relations Executive, Ms. Tharindi. She is welcoming, knowledgeable, and attentive. The main reason I am giving a 10/10 rating is because of her outstanding service and quick resolution of my concern. Every morning, she checks in with guests to ensure their comfort, which I truly appreciate. Having worked in the service industry for the past 12 years, I know how important this level of care is. Ms. Tharindi, you are a valuable asset to this property. Once again, thank you for making my stay at Avani so memorable. I would also like to thank the Front Office Manager, Mr. Jayantha, and the Executive Housekeeper, Mr. Eric, who personally met with me and resolved the issue. Additionally, my gratitude goes to the room attendant who kept my room impeccably clean.

I was staying at the Avani Resort for a friend’s wedding. My friend was getting married at the Anantara Kalutara Resort next door and because rooms there were sold out, she recommended booking at the Avani. I was glad I did, because it was just a 5 minute walk to their hotel next door and everything at the Avani was impeccable. The hospitality we experienced from the moment we arrived was warm and welcoming, and the room and amenities were top-notch. The room and bathroom were very clean and spacious - we also had a view of the ocean. There’s a pool and fitness center, the beach is literally a 30 second walk from the pool, and there are a couple restaurants with many types of food options. The food at the restaurant was good, especially the breakfast which comes with many types of juices, fruits, bread, and Sri Lankan specialties. I would 100% stay here again and I would highly recommend this resort to others coming to stay in the area!

Could not fault our stay. Welcome and check-in was superb. Room was so clean and well looked after during our stay with some lovely peronal touches. Food was very good - both breakfast and dinner. The pool service and pool itself was perfect. Such a relaxing few days and every single member of staff was friendly, helpful and courteous. Can highly recommend this hotel for peace and relaxation. It was a tuk tuk ride from the main shopping area, but we didn't even want to leave the hotel except for a walk along the beach to the local beach restaurants and a lovely massage!

In few words - Exceptionally great in everything. The meal was plenty, with really good variety and delicious. Moreover, despite the bad weather, the staff cleaned the pool regularly. The service of the pool was great, friendly and offering everything whatever and whenever needed. Especially Mr. NISHANTA and Mr. CHANDIMA LAKMAL. Mr. SURANGA cleaned our room every day in a very nice way and every day pleased us with beautiful and romantic bedding designs. All the staff in the hotel was very kind and helpful.

As airport hotels go this is a gem! Lovely pool area, large rooms and bathrooms. Felt quite like a boutique property. However, what stood out for me was the staff they could not have been nicer and more accommodating, from the manager to the waiters and waitresses. Also food was lovely, a great last night of our holiday!

One of the most precious hotels in Sri Lanka. We stayed with our 4yr old son in one of the villas with private pool. The staff is super nice and the food is excellent. The price for food and drinks are higher but this is because of the great quality and service. Our stay was absolutely faultless and we had an amazing time at Ayana Sea, we did splash out and booked one of the Premier King Ocean View villas with a plunge pool and bath but it was completely worth it and exceeded our expectations! Absolutely everything was perfect for a nice relaxing end to our Sri Lankan trip. The town of Wadduwa was a short walk away which had ATM’s, shops etc and we strolled back via the beach and talked to very friendly locals along the way. The drive back to the airport took about 1 hour 20mins and was by far the best stretch of road we saw in Sri Lanka!! All of the staff couldn’t do enough for us and were all lovely people, we were very sad to leave!

We spent our first day/night in Sri Lanka here, and we liked it very much, we might have wanted to stay longer. We got an upgrade to a very beautiful room with a big bathroom including a small private pool which was perfect to cool down after the long journey. The bed was also great, very big and comfortable, it was perfectly silent at night and we slept very well! The food was delicious! In addition, the staff was very helpful with my Gluten-intolerance and I did not have any problems! In addition, they helped us out when our driver did neither show up nor pick up the phone for more than an hour, and thanks to the very helpful staff we found a new one. Thank you for everything :)

We celebrated our honeymoon in Sri Lanka and found this gem to spend towards the end of our trip. It's quiet and quaint. The resort is smaller than what I expected but it was stunning. Green, private beach and private pool if you want to detach from everything. The best part of the resort was the food. Chef Mahindo, who won multiple awards, and his team were amazing. We had a full board and our tummy were extremely full but our souls were happy. Chef M even hosted a sri lanka cooking class which he was very good at explaining and educating us about each of the spices. Can't wait to replicate it at home in London. The room and bathroom were huge. They were clean as I expected. The dining staff and housekeeping were great. They were polite and provided great service. Do note, there is limited activity within the resort when we were there so if you want to explore nearby, it's a 45 min drive but super easy to get uber or pick me. If you need a quiet getaway from the crowd, it's a perfect destination. Highly recommend!

Fabulous boutique hotel. The staff were attentive and always happy to cater to our needs. The room was clean and comfortable, plus we had our own plunge pool which was perfect. The food was delicious and flavourful. The grounds are neatly kept and it was nice to see chipmunks and mongoose roaming around. During our stay, there were many other couples enjoying their stay, in a comfortable quiet and relaxing atmosphere. No kids to be seen which made it even more wonderful to unwind. We will be back.

Warm welcome with cold towels and afternoon tea. Our twin bedded room wasn’t huge but more than adequate. Comfy bed, good pillows and quality of bedding. Wonderful bathroom with bath and rainforest shower. Lovely products and strong hairdryer. The villa is perfectly situated on a wonderful sandy beach - there are some beach bars and restaurants if needed. However the food in the hotel is amazing and of similar price so to be honest I would just eat here. In addition to the fab beach there is a small swimming pool. As mentioned above the food is of top quality. Breakfast was outstanding - either Sri Lankan or continental including freshly made juices, cut fruit and a good choice of hot dishes. Coffee was the best we had in our 10 days in Sri Lanka. Both our evening meals were also faultless. Nice touch that they offer complimentary king coconut mid morning and afternoon tea All staff are very helpful but Special mention to Janaka, Sanjevee and the Executive Chef who kindly gave me a cookery lesson. Would highly recommend this very well run boutique hotel.

New, exceptionally stylish property that was celebrating its 1 year anniversary while we stayed…we got a delicious piece of birthday cake! The location is excellent with direct access to a nice beach (which has a few restaurants and bars within walking distance) and easy reach of a turtle sanctuary definitely worth visiting, as well as a great beach bar called Waves a short Tuk Tuk ride away. You have the choice of cooling down in the ocean or in the hotel’s exquisite pool and, as is typical throughout Sri Lanka, it’s the lovely people who make a place special and this hotel is no exception. Choice of Western or Sri Lankan breakfast, both of which were plentiful. You won’t be disappointed if you book to stay at this hotel. We were sorry to leave.

Perfect place for a relaxing vacation. The design of the hotel is stunning, staff very friendly and helpful, spoiled us during all our stay. We enjoyed our time so much the time spent at Villa Thamburu and we thought to expend few more days but we had work duty and was not possible. The suite Pedro, our accommodation, was extremely comfortable and perfect for a romantic time! Food was good and hotel very clean. The public beach outside is beautiful but not suitable for swimming however we enjoyed our lazy chill in the hotel beach and pool.

This is the 2nd time we've been to Villa Bentota. The hospitality and the service from the staff was excellent. The food was fantastic and tasty. The service was great too - cannot complain at all. There's someone coming to clean the room twice a day which is excellent. The garden which is directly parallel to the railway line is beautifully maintained. The pools are clean. We love the privacy afforded to us when the pool is used. The surroundings are tranquil and the building is beautiful.

Beautifully designed, and gifted with a gorgeous garden and pool, this is a lovely place to stay, very close to the beach, but close to Bentota town, and Lunuganga, if you're a Bawa fan. It's a quiet, intimate place, ideal for relaxation. My room was exceptional, in design and comfort, up a flight of steps, with views of the garden and pools, and with privacy too. The hotel was total luxury from when you enter. Great welcome by the staff, beautiful grounds, beautiful pool and lovely rooms. Trains going past was a cool touch and can walk straight down to the most stunning beach. Can walk along and there are great beach bars and loads of people playing volleyball. We were at the hotel for a family wedding and it was incredible. Would find it difficult to find a hotel that comes close to it in the area.

We absolutely loved our stay here, it's a 10/10 and we cannot wait to come back. Everything was great: The friendly and helpful staff, beautiful property, located directly by the beach, the stunning pool, the food and drink options, walkability to other restaurants and the village. We definitely recommend staying here!

Literally everything. The hotel was lovely but the staff were exceptional. The location is incredible. The rooms was amazingly finished, and super comfy. There was a huge pool which might be hotter than my home bath and a beautiful beach at the end of the property. Whilst all the staff were genuinely phenomenal and consistently went above and beyond we have to give a special shout out to Ishani who spent the best part of 20 minutes helping my girlfriend with the near impossible task of putting on a Saree. The hotel also offered very good value spa treatments, a decent buffet breakfast and a good selection of dinners.

The property was very beautiful and we could just walk up to the beach anytime. The reception was super friendly and handled everything with efficiency. The rooms were clean and beautiful. The interior was very pretty. The pool was lovely. We had the dinner buffet. The restaurent staff was very welcoming. Two of my friends had dinner from the Al-carte menu and they were given a complimentary dessert because the rest of us were having buffet. The waiters were very attentive and provided us everything we required. Overall, we had a lovely stay because the staff was very attentive and acted swiftly whenever we needed something.

Very well maintained property and hotel. The staff is always ready to help with a smile on their faces. When I check-in I was offered an upgrade to one of their best villas with a pool. Very clean room and amenities. Very good and filling breakfast with a nice restaurant. Moreover, the property is just a stone throw away from the beach!

We had an amazing stay at this hotel! The location is perfect, right next to the beach with easy access, and the pool area—both indoor and outdoor—was great for relaxing. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating, making the stay even more enjoyable. The rooms were comfortable, and the food was delicious. Colombo Villa is a gorgeous sanctuary in a busy town. Our family loved the very large room, and especially loved the pool - but really there wasn't anything we could find fault with. And after we checked out at 11am, with 12 hours to kill before our flight, they were happy for us to set up a little basecamp near the pool and use their showers etc. so we left ready for the arduous trip ahead in the best condition possible. One of other guests visited Colombo five times a year for several weeks at a time, and had chosen Colombo Villa as her "home away from home" - and we can see why. The general neighbourhood was nice too - a short stroll from the National Museum and park, and a breeze to hail tuk-tuks if needed. And the pool is covered for when the occasional downpour strikes! 5 stars.

Spacious family room so did not feel cramped. Large bathroom. Hot water in shower. Clean rooms. Friendly manager and helpful and efficient staff member working in hotel. Quiet accommodation in a side road so away from noise of main road. We were able to use the shower room by the pool to refresh after check out as we had a late night flight. Only stayed 1 night in Colombo before our flight. Did not use pool or have meals at the villa.

We had posted a second review for Colombo Villa so we are not sure why it is no longer on Booking.com.. This is our home away from home in Colombo. Our second stay here was as wonderful as our first and we will definitely return on our next trip to Colombo. Our room was very spacious and super clean with an enormous, very comfortable bed and excellent air conditioning. With a well appointed bathroom and tea/coffee making facilities, and very efficient internet, there is everything you need for your stay. Should you require anything else, the wonderful staff will help you out. They cannot do enough for you, and are always available to assist you with suggestions about their town, arrange transport, or suggest restaurants, as well as smaller things such as ensuring you have enough towels for the pool. Breakfast is generous and delicious, and they went out of their way to provide plant-based options for dietary requirements. We highly recommend a stay at Colombo Villa on your visit to Sri Lanka.

Our stay at Colombo VIlla was the perfect start to our time here in Sri Lanka. Despite our very late arrival from an international flight, we were warmly greeted at the front door and we slept so well in the super comfortable bed. The staff are very considerate and can't do enough to make sure you have everything you need for your stay. Breakfast is delicious and extensive, and they kindly catered for my plant based dietary needs. At the end of each hot day, the very clean pool was a treat to return to and refresh before dinner at a locally recommended restaurant. There is plenty of hot water and good shower pressure, very effective wi-fi connection in our room and they provided fantastic suggestions for getting to know the city. Most areas are walkable, if you don't mind the heat, or short tuktuk rides away. We are staying again on our departure from Sri lanka, and are very much looking forward to returning to Colombo Villa.

We had a brilliant stay at Colombo Villa - the building is lovely and the staff are super hospitable. We thought it was a real treat to stay there. We highly recommend purchasing the breakfast: both the standard and the Sri Lankan dinner were delicious. The pool was a great way to refreshing after a long day exploring. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. We had the odd large bug and a persistent drain smell in the bathroom, which cleared when the fan was turned on - all part of the Colombo experience! Otherwise very clean. We had some trouble walking to a nearby restaurant - you might have to catch a tuktuk or taxi for something good. Otherwise, we felt safe walking around the local area. We would love to return!

I enjoyed the 2 nights stay. The facility has air-con, wifi, frege, lanudry machine, private pool. The large dining and a bedroom was VERY good and too large to stay alone. The best cost performance!

The hotel is just lovely: quiet place, everything is clean, big rooms with AC and fan, good pillows, hot water, TV and a pool, good wifi. We had a long flight, so it was perfect place to stay and have rest. We had very beautiful room on the 1st floor with a little garden. The hotel is not big, so you can feel privacy: I think only our family used the pool)) Very good kitchen, tasty breakfast and other menu. I would like to say thank you to the staff: they helped us with all the questions we had, starting from the taxi and sightseeing to the help with doctor. I definitely would recommend this place and will come again when visiting Colombo

The staff at the stay was extremely polite and professional, they helped us with our luggage as well as easy check in. The pool is well maintained and in a green lush space which adds to the night sky or the daylight. The place is aesthetically pleasing and you can enjoy your stay in colombo in a private yet easily accessible area. The services provided were more than enough to have a great time. The interiors, pools, room and bathroom were really well maintained and with proper hygiene. The room was spacious with a balcony and beautiful cupboard as well as television. Overall the place is a worth & must stay if you ever come to Colombo.

We enjoyed our stay at the Ekho (4 adults 2 rooms). We were there for two weeks at the end of September - we were upgraded to the rooms above the pool as it looked as though there was work going on in the other 'Superior' rooms. The long pool is the best ever! Immaculately kept and we were will looked after by the guys at the pool. All the staff were wonderful. We did think the pool is missing a public toilet at this end of the hotel though - reception was the nearest. Food was great but we ate out a few times as well - our favorite was Ayesha - a 5 minute Tuk tuk ride. It's right on the river and we watched hundreds of Fruit Bats and Fish Eagles hunting as we ate our dinner! We used the guys on the beach, (right in front of the Hotel), Sudu and Chami, to visit Udawalawe safaris. Well worth a visit and we had a great day with them. You will definitely do a boat safari as your minutes away. This was a great experience, especially where the river meets the sea. A tip - the Tuk Tuk guys at the gate sorted everywhere we wanted to go nearby and know their area well (obviously). We found the deals they sorted and took us good value compared to others. We loved the Sri Lankan people - lots of smiles and always helping you out. We'll go back one day!

The pool was fabulous and having two was a bonus. There is surf lessons right next door also, so we didnt have to walk very far at all. There are such lovely treats with this hotel such as the delicious cocktails, the pool lunch and bar service, the friendly staff, beds and pillows are really comfy. What lets it down is the basics - towels in bathrooms are dated, the door of the bathroom stays closed so the room is damp, and in need of a redo. On our last day a lot of staff slow down around you and pretty much hover to get a tip, which is the norm i know in SL, but it still disheartening. Overall lovely hotel, sitting by the pool or beach all day is amazing! Both of which we found to be really spotless. I'd still recommend.

Large Hotel With Large Pools I stayed at The Surf Hotel, Bentota for 2 nights. The hotel boasts a prime location on Bentota Beach. It covers a large area of land and it has two nice swimming pools, one of which is 52 meters long. They are both clean and well maintained. The rooms are large enough and have a balcony that overlooks the beach. However, they are infested by ants and other insects. We had to call the reception on two occasions to spray insect repellent. I had to use my personal mobile on both occasions as the room telephone was out of order. Moreover, the furniture needs renovation. The staff were very prompt and helpful and deserve a thumb up for their promptness and amiability. Breakfast is copious with many Sri Lankan specialties. Wherever we go in Sri Lanka we are informed that food is halal. I really appreciate this gesture from the Sri Lankan government which has made it mandatory to hotels to cater for Muslims. We also had dinner at the hotel coffee shop and enjoyed the seafood platters, though the salad portion was very little. We found out that the prices at this coffee shop were reasonable compared to other outside eateries. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves especially at the surf a d we had the opportunity to meet the squirrel there.

We a family of 12 adult and 1 child recently stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. Our initial encounter was not pleasant as we have arrived at 5pm only but our rooms were not ready. After a 7 hour journey from Nuwara Eliya to Bentota, we were all knackered and just wanted to get into our rooms to rest but was delayed. The manager tho had upgraded us to the rooms right infront of the pool. Though the upgrade was timely but we had to wait for each rooms to be given the keys. However the manager made up for it again by providing us with light snacks. The rooms were amazing and the beds were extremely comfortable. Imagine waking up to the pool and the beach right infront of you. The sunset was a spectacular view as well. Breakfast was amazing with vast spread of food. From continental to english to typical Sri Lankan food. Heard the dinner was good to tho we opted t have it outside. Overall we really enjoyed our stay in The Surf Bentota and would highly recommend to anyone.

Incredible place, one of the nicest we stayed in Sri Lanka and it was just meant to be a stopover. Very comfortable room. Great common area and pool. River was really nice to swim in too. The best was the warm welcome from Lakshan and getting to chat with him. He is a great host and very good cook too! Would definitely recommend staying and eating there. Food was very reasonable prices and very good quality .

We were very lucky to have the whole place to ourselves and the host Lakshan made us feel like it was home. It was open plan and the pool was a perfect size to cool off. He made us the most amazing dinner, gave us welcome drinks, put our music on around the pop and even taught us how to play a local game! He made our first night in Sri Lanka one to remember!

Nice resort, in the middle of nowhere but ideally located if you arrive or depart from negombo. Very nice staff, he made me feel comfortable and welcome. The dinner and breakfast were also nice and the natural pool looks stunning. The rooms are very big.

Very clean accommodation with good facilities and friendly staff (especially Lakshan). Also good for family. The pool with the nature is unique and the hotel is located on a small river and is very idyllic. Above all, no mosquitoes in the room :-). Thanks to the staff

A few niggles regarding other service levels and amenities, though (given that it’s a 5 star hotel): - No regular drinks waiter service at the beach - No regular drinks waiter service around the pool areas - We asked a pool bar man who happened to be passing by our loungers if he would bring us the drinks menu, he said ‘yes’ and that was the last we saw of him - Once phoned front desk from the room but it just kept on ringing with no answer The spa was superb, even though the prices are the same as in the UK. Generally, the prices of food and drink are very high which probably explains why the main bar and restaurants were pitifully empty every night we were there.

We arrived at the hotel late at night, but was greeted with a great surprise that our room was upgraded to a corner suite! (as other rooms were fully booked on that day) The view from the room was fantastic with river, pools, sea views on the both sides. Also there were Dilmar tea prepared in the room which we enjoyed so much during our stay! The highlight for me was the breakfast - the restaurant was so beautiful, and the food was amazing with lots of Sri Lankan and other food options! Very accessible to the peaceful beach and we enjoyed the sunset on the beach bed too. I would really love to stay longer in this resort, so would definitely be back soon!

I stayed for 2 nights at the end of my 2 week holiday which was a tour around Sri Lanka. I wanted somewhere I could completely relax with my kindle, and this hotel fit the bill perfectly. If you are looking for things to do around the hotel, don't stay here. I would say this is a hotel you book if you want to completely relax by the poolside. In short, the hotel is BEAUTIFUL. The pool is sublime, the sun loungers very comfortable all set against the perfect backdrop of the ocean. I stayed in the poolside room which was so clean, comfortable and the bathroom was perfect with a gorgeous rain forest style shower. The food was another highlight; my only niggle was the overuse of salt on some of the evening meals but apart from that very tasty and beautifully presented. The staff were warm, welcoming and well trained to provide fantastic service. I would highly recommend.

Everything about this place is outrageously exceptional. The staff are INCREDIBLE. The food is AMAZING. The location is PERFECT. We honestly had the best time staying here mostly realxing in and beside the pool, lazing on the beach, frolicking in the waves and watching gorgeous sunsets. The staff under Rizwan's amazing management ensured that we always had what we needed and were always around just when we needed something. Honestly it was like a home away from home and we will DEFINITELY be returning.

Right on the beach.300meters walk from local train station.but you are not aware of the train. Once you go through the gates it feels like walking into a luxurious property, and something very special. 7 bedroom boutique hotel. We stayed in the triple aspect room. One of the nicest rooms we have stayed in. Staff friendly helpful and attentive. Pool was amazing. If you are thinking of drinking alcohol take your own. Wine is very expensive.

This is a luxurious place with only seven rooms. We almost had the place to ourselves. The staff, especially Eshan and Rukmal were very friendly and attentive. The breakfast and dinners, included in the room rate, was gourmet level and really makes this a great value with luxury. Don’t miss the beautiful pool. Would be great for a destination wedding!!

Waterland has excellent facilities. We enjoyed our private plunge pool. Some might find the out of town location a little inconvenient, but we liked being along the canal near the river estuary.

We stayed at Waterland on our first night in Colombo for one night and the main issue with our stay was that it wasn’t for long enough. Me and a friend arrived at different time and Waterland arranged for both of us to be picked up from the airport. The hotel is a little way out of Colombo but it is in a lovely, quiet setting. Upon arrival, we were each greeted with a delicious drinks and shown around the apartment (even though my friend did not arrive until after midnight). Waterland also arranged for us to be taken to our next stop. The apartment was massive, with a sitting room and 2 bedrooms each with a large on-suite. We also had our own private pool and balcony with an amazing view of the waterways. The apartment was very clean and tidy and the pool was great (even though we only got to use it for a short time in the morning. Breakfast was quite traditional – fresh fruit, curd and honey (if you haven’t tried this – you must) followed by a hot option of your choice, served with drinks. The service was great, the apartment was great – we are just sorry that we didn’t book in an extra night!

Waterland is a small resort of around 5 individual villas on the banks of a river. We stayed in Elephant villa which has a small, private pool and decking area. We loved the indoor/ outdoor bathroom with fish! The area is quiet and great for just sitting and watching the wildlife. Food is eaten in a small restaurant and although choice is limited, the quality was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. Slight downsides... The resort is really tucked away ,so be sure your taxi driver knows where he is going. Ours took a while to locate the hotel. We wished the staff would collect the plastic waste that washed up at the end of the decking, or provided waste sacks for us to do it. Its a shame having to overlook plastic and garbage as you gaze at the scenary. There isnt anywhere to walk to so just go and enjoy relaxing .

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Waterland. It is convenient for the airport but in a quiet spot, situated by the river. It is beautiful. We had a great private villa with a good size pool. The staff and service were excellent. In particular Raganan was brilliant and looked after us very well. Incredibly good value for money and a short Tuk Tuk ride into Negombo town.

Die Aussicht im zweiten Stock auf den Fluss und die Gegend sehr einladend. Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Wir konnten 2 perfekte Abendessen auf unserer privaten Terrasse genießen. Die Qualität vom Essen, egal ob Frühstück oder Abendessen, war hervorragend. Sehr gerne wieder.

Wonderful stay. We were a group of 6 across 3 rooms, and all 3 rooms were clean and comfortable. The location is a short walk to the main street and beach. The staff were excellent - service was really above and beyond. Breakfast was good and reasonably priced, and the pool was very clean and enjoyable with a few sun loungers to relax on. Recommend!

A small boutique hotel, with a great location. There are only 5 rooms and a roof top terrace and a pool. The rooms and communal areas were immaculate. Staff really friendly and helpful and breakfast great. It was a really fantastic base for us to explore Sri Lanka

The staff here are amazing, friendly, helpful and accommodating. Food was delicious and such good value for money (be prepared to wait a while as it's all cooked fresh from scratch). Nice swimming pool although could do with a larger seating/lounging area. The free airport pick up is a great touch. Give me somewhere like this rather than a huge anonymous hotel, I felt very comfortable here as a solo traveller. To the Czech family who stayed here on the 04.01.20, your behaviour was disgraceful!

This is a family-run business and everyone was genuinely friendly and hospitable. The AC was very welcoming, when there was electricity. I arrived during the Ukraine and Russia conflict; thus the country had a power shutdown for hours everyday in order to conserve energy. Everyday there was a different schedule for power shutdown by the city. This is not the hotel’s fault. Home-cooked meals in their restaurant and free use of their bicycle came in handy. I highly recommend this property.

We were upgraded to Master room, most enormous shower, spa and bed. We had to go over the road to Jetwing Lagoon for breakfast which was not a problem. We had the whole complex to ourselves which included a decent sized plunge pool. Very happy with the overall experience.

Villas were beautiful! We are a family of 5 and had the Master Suite and another room. Very spacious and private with a luxurious feel to them (own plunge pool and spa jacuzzi). We were able to use all the facilities of the main hotel which was fantastic. Staff very helpful and courteous. Food in hotel restaurant was fabulous. Close to the airport but situated away from main town of Negombo. This did not bother us as we only stayed here for one night to recover from long flight and jet lag.

Our butler Mahinda was fantastic, the room is enormous and the breakfasts tasted great (and were more than we could eat). The plunge pool is well located for an evening swim while watching the sunset. They treated us to high tea as we had booked a long stay, this included an infusion on traditional and Sri Lankan items served in the private dining room. Really enjoyed this. We would definitely stay here again. Also recommend a night walk on the beach to see the thousands of crabs, including hermit crabs

Our group consisted of two couples. The rooms were really nice and the place was a good private get away with close friends. There is a plunge pool on the upper level overlooking the sea. Unfortunately access to the plunge pool is limited to those who pay the higher rate and book the master bedroom. We had access to it until dinner time since the master bedroom was unoccupied. When we returned from dinner myself and my friend walked up to find another couple in the pool. Needless to say they were quite horrified when they saw two dudes with bottles of whiskey tucked under each arm come up the stairs :D The guy yelled "privacy! privacy!". I'd recommend you book the master just so you could have the private plunge pool. You could cook your meals if you request to use the kitchen. Otherwise you have no choice but to take the 5 min walk to the Jetwing Lagoon Restaurant.

We stayed in the villa on the beach for one night. It was a huge place with its own pool facing the beach. The villa was situated opposite the main hotel, which has a few restaurants and a huge pool, this can all be used if you are staying in the villas. Overall I’d say the place is lovely, a little tired around the edges but we’ll looked after and we felt safe and happy with our stay.

We stayed here for 20 nights and got to know the hotel and staff pretty well. It is a great place to relax and although the ocean can be a little rough, we managed to swim everyday. Food quality is very good, especially the seafood restaurant. Same prices as local restaurants, but much better quality and hygiene. No need to leave hotel! Only gripe was music by the pool. They play the same CD over and over again. I kept telling them that people would rather listen to the waves and if the want to listen to music they will use headphones. I hope the management take note. Best thing about hotel is the staff. So friendly and helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay at Wakkaduwa with my friend. The room was amazing, clean and very big. The included breakfast was various and fresh. Loved the pool The staff finally was very friendly and helpful! I highly recommend this place!

We stayed here for the last 3 nights of our holiday for some relaxation after a busy 2 weeks in Sri Lanka. For the most part, this hotel is excellent. It has a fantastic pool - which we virtually had all to ourselves, large, air con rooms, a great breakfast and the place is kept in a very clean condition. However, a couple of things let it down. Firstly, the dinner buffet is not great. No authentic Sri Lankan food is on offer and the food is not up to a good standard and very pricey. We found some excellent seafood restaurant's a short walk from the hotel. Secondly, whilst the majority of the staff are very helpful, I felt that some of the staff at dinner needed to go on a customer service course! One especially was verging on rude. Thirdly, the grouting around the shower tiles, where the wall meets the floor, was looking grubby and needs a good clean. We had a lovely, relaxing stay here, but the above points do need to be addressed.

Hotellet var nytt och fräscht med bra service, men ligger långt ifrån allt. Om man vill se och göra saker så är det inte optimalt, men vill man ha poolhäng och bekvämt avstånd till stranden så funkar det bra. Stranden i sig är öde och svårbadad, men fin.

Останавливался на Шри-Ланке в 3 местах: Унаватуне, Канди и Васкадуве (место отеля). Новый отель (очень редко для ШЛ), с очень добрыми и отзывчивыми сотрудниками. Немного технологичный дизайн. В ресторане очень вкусно готовят. Завтраки по меню, очень неплохие. Отель на море, правда в ноябре немного было неспокойное. Номера очень просторные, в туалете унитаз с электронным управлением (прикольно). Отель небольшой, но все компактно. Место спокойное, окружающие аборигены более доброжелательны, чем в других местах.Не так сильно навязывают свои услуги. Цены в соседних ресторанах и спа центрах на массаж дешевле, чем в крупных курортных местах. Мне очень понравилось, очень радушное отношение, приятно было отдохнуть.

I stayed 4 nights and Riverbank Bentota and had a wonderful experience there. Although the hotel is slightly difficult to spot from the road, I didn't have trouble finding it. It is a short walk from the Aluthagama train station so great for people who are coming with the train from Colombo. The hotel is lovely and small so perfect for people who don't enjoy the huge crowds of tourists in some of the larger hotels. My room was very spacious and had a lovely high ceiling. It was also clean and comfortable and had a large balcony with a stunning view of the river and the swimming pool in the garden. Perfect for relaxing in the afternoon. The swimming pool is great if you are feeling a bit too lazy to walk to the beach (Bentota beach is a 10 min walk away) or if the waves are too large for swimming that day. The breakfast was delicious - always came with plenty of fresh fruit and enough coffee to last you the day. The hotel owners/staff were lovely and accommodating hosts and I would definitely stay there again.

Family run hotel who couldn't do enough for me, making me tea and coffee during the day and never charged me. Clean swimming pool and not overcrowded. Hotel is about a kilometre from Bentota beach. Eat at Pier 88 which is a hundred metres away overlooking the river which is mainly used by tourists or try Ruwan cafe on the way to the beach which is used by the locals. They are all friendly and their curry is tasty and ridiculously cheap. Monday morning is market day 50 metres from the hotel and mainly sells fruit and vegetables, every type you can imagine. Besides the big tourist hotels and places like Pier 88, most places don't sell beer or spirits but there are three liquor stores along the main high street where you can buy cold beer or spirits. Tuck tuks are everywhere if you don't fancy walking in the high humidity. There are numerous touts who will try to get you on every trip going and accompany you into the shops so they get their commission but after a couple of days they usually give up if they see you are not interested. Overall, a friendly place so smile at the locals and enjoy their warmth. Would I go back? Yes definitely !

The Riverbank Bentota is an excellent guest house. The rooms are large and comfortable, and the Wi-Fi worked well during our stay. There is a pool, which was most welcomed in the heat. The included breakfast was very good, and the family also fixed us lunch and dinner (at modest additional cost) when the local restaurants were closed due to a holiday. They also gave us complementary rides to the beach (about 1.5 km away) and provided a convenient ride to the airport at the going price. The local area is not as nice, as the guest house is on a busy street, with many shops and a market mostly used by the locals. The large tourist hotels are across the river (about a 15 min walk). There are limited restaurants near the guest house, but we found the Happy Fish Restaurant (next to the bridge across the river) a good choice.

Das Riverbank empfehlen wir ohne zu Zögern weiter. Herrlicher Ausblick auf den Fluss, während man sich im Pool erfrischt. Tolles Frühstück und persönliche Betreuung bei allen Fragen. Danus Mama hat sogar für uns Sri Lankisch gekocht. Tausend Dank!

Wonderful atmosphere and great location by the river. Organise river cruise right from pier from your garden with a pool. Friendly family and lovely dog (silent one).

We had the most incredible 4-night stay at Glenross Living, nestled in the heart of a beautiful rainforest surrounded by nature. We also had an incredible experience at the spa—Mira, the therapist, transported us to another world with her amazing Balinese massage. It was pure relaxation! The staff were super friendly specially Ajith made sure our stay was super comfortable. The food was good, i think they could do better. Kamal and the staff were very accommodating and helpful and the chef prepared an incredible rice and curry buffet, served in traditional woven plates, clay pots and banana leaves and all my favourite dishes - gottukola sambol from the hotel garden itself, mango curry, bean curry, chicken curry, carrot papadam ...probably one of the best rice and curry lunch buffet I have had and I lived in Sri Lanka for 5 years. I even mentioned that I would have liked to eat banana flower curry (kehel muwa) and the chef overheard and made it for us in the evening as a surprise! The hotel even kindly organised some paper printouts for us, allowed friends and family to join us in the pool for our last day in Sri Lanka before relocating overseas and made our last day very special and memorable. This will definitely be our go to place once we return for our holidays.

Staff was so friendly and welcoming. It felt like a true home away from home. Very nice property design and decorations. Loved all the plants and birds.

We wanted to enjoy our last 5 days in luxury and in a hotel on the beach. And here we were lucky to choose the best hotel we have ever stayed at in Sri Lanka! The hotel is apparently quite new and has not yet received stars on booking.com, but I have no doubt that they deserve 5! 🤩 There are only 8 rooms (large) and 2 suites (with private pool). So you quickly get to know the other guests and not least the staff. And they are something very special. You are simply taken care off, so it's unbelievable. We travel with a 9-year-old and since there were no other children in the hotel, they played ball and played with him in the pool. They arranged breakfast on the beach and they prepared the sunbeds right on the spot they knew we would like to lie down. They also drove right down to town and picked up what we needed. And since our flight was delayed, so we had to rebook the whole trip, we could just stay one day in the same room - no problems. They are simply amazing! The hotel is located approx. 10 min by tuk-tuk outside Bentota in the Induruwa area. There are a few shops and restaurants nearby if you want to walk around the area. But we mostly went for a walk on the incredibly beautiful and deserted beach. Here the locals fish on the rocks and you have the most amazing sunset. We also saw a dolphin up close.🐬 There are pretty big waves, but we swam anyway - because there is a lifeguard who is ready with diving goggles when you approach the sea.

We loved the beach location, close to the turtle sanctuary, and the pool with a large area with plenty of sunbeds. There was AC good variety in the buffet including vegetarian options. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly in particular Pradash and the pool guy/gardener. The beach is stunning but quiet - we enjoyed walking along it. The waves were large while we stayed there but we did spot dolphins out to sea. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

The room had a beautiful view of the ocean. The pool area, restaurant and gardens were beautifully maintained. Sanath, the pool attendant, did a great job setting up our sun loungers with beautiful flowers every day!

Wow…what a stay!!! It’s a hidden gem at a very serene location. It an ideal place for those who wants to live in tranquility and enjoy their ‘me time’. It is also an ideal place for romantic gateway. We stayed at their ‘Deluxe Double Room with Balcony’. The room was very spacious with a nice balcony and a spacious bathroom. The whole room and bathroom are nicely decorated. We enjoyed the view from the balcony sitting on the swing. Overall, it a very nice and comfortable room to stay. The have a very welcoming infinity swimming pool and a private beach. We enjoyed every moment of it. During our stay we also met with the Chairman of the Hotel Dr. Ranjuka and his wife Director Ms. Nilusha. It was such a pleasure to meet & have a small chat with them. We really appreciated the way both of them welcome us in their hotel. The General Manager Mr. Sulochana Nilhan has given special attention to us & taken care of all our requirement with wholeheartedly. Their Chef made us a three-course meal as per our requirement, such a nice gesture. We were amazed by the hospitality & care of all the hotel staffs. We are thankful to them for making our stay memorable. You can have tuk tuk from the road and other options of ride from pick me easily, if you want to visit near by. We highly recommend this place.

The hotel was fabulous and only steps to the most beautiful beach. We had a wonderful stay surrounded by lovely staff who were exceptional and so nice. Our sun loungers awaited us every morning thanks to the lovely pool & grounds staff. We had dinner most nights at the hotel and a shout out to the chef and the kitchen staff it was delicious food. The bar was a lovely place to unwind after a tough day lounging in the sun. ☀️ If you want to venture outside the hotel, the town centre is just a short Tuk Tuk drive away and there are always drivers available outside the hotel. We stayed 8 nights and loved every day. It’s a small hotel so the staff are keen to ensure you have a great stay, and that’s what makes this hotel special. It’s hard to mention anyone in particular they were all amazing.

This is an amazing place for nature and bird lovers. The owners created a fabulous place to relax and enjoy the sounds of nature in a very comfortable lodge. If you choose the option with the bungalows you even have a big private pool. The vegetarian food is delicious and the owners everything to make you feel "home". Highly recommended!

Beautiful and well maintained lodge embedded in the tropical forrest. The bungalow was specious and clean with a private fresh water pool. The stay comes with fullboard (including coffee and tea in the afternoon) which is freshly and regionally prepared every day. Special requests, e.g. vegan or gluten-free food, are catered for without any problems. The activities on offer are highly recommended. In the morning there is the opportunity to explore the rainforest on foot, by bike or kayak with Alli. We booked the kayak tour and can highly recommend it. In the afternoon, Edna gives yoga classes, which are open to all levels of experience. I attended three of her classes and was impressed by her style of teaching, in which she also incorporates aerial yoga. Overall, we can warmly recommend the accommodation, you are well looked after and can relax wonderfully here. Not really a point of criticism, just to clarify: the accommodation is located in the rainforest, so there is a certain amount of humidity and heat during the day, which is why sports activities, for example, have to be scheduled for the early morning. In addition, depending on the amount of rain, clothes, pillows etc. sometimes remain a little damp if the sun doesn't come out properly.

The experience was one of a kind and we can more than highly recommend this amazing lodge. It was our first encounter with SriLanka and the German owners Edna and Alli made us feel home immediately and within no time we felt a deep sense of location and understanding of the lush environment. The lodge is based on true passion and it shows. In the people and community, the amazing local vegetarian food, the comfortable accommodation and all the activities we were able to engage in at the spur of the moment. Hiking through the rainforest and vegetation of the lodge, tasting directly from a cinnamon plant and watching pepper grow, meeting locals as they carry down the harvested tea leaves, a sunrise bike tour through hidden villages, another sunrise canyoning trip down a deserted river with the occasional local fetching sand from the river bottom, then an aryuveda massage and morning and evening aerial or hatha yoga lessons again right at the property. We felt truly part of the family and have been able to experience so much in four days. Thank you Edna and Alli for sharing your amazing life with us. We will be back and will recommend your lodge to everyone.

everything is very clean and well organized. Edna and Alli welcomed me so lovely. I travelled alone and was part of a small family there. the four meals per day were awesome!! the location is really good to enjoy the green of the forest and chill out. I participated in a lot of activities which were well organized and simply stunning (kayaking, bicycle tour, hike to a waterfall). we did aerial yoga which was awesome. the aspect of sustainability and fairness was always in the mind of the two hosts.

We have stayed in :Colombo on many occasions, but always in hotels. For a change we decided to book an apartment in the same area. The Colombo Residency or Crescat residency as its know is in a prime area of Colombo along the Galle Road. Situated next to the Cinnamon Grande Hotel it is within minutes of the Crescat Mall with its shopping and Food Hall situated on the Lower level. Here you can eat cheaply a variety of different foods Sri, Lankan, vegetarian(Indian) Mongolian, Thai and even pizza. You are minutes away from Galle Face Hotel and Green, The Ministry of Crab is a 5minute tuk tuk ride away. Fort railway station and Pettah market. the opposite direction is Liberty Plaza, Majestic City , Odell, Paradise Road , House of Fashion. There is a pool and Gym next door which you have access too. We were in a one bedroom apartment, the Décor was a bit 'tired' and was in need of updating but was spacious with a lounge and kitchenette, bedroom and bathroom. 24hr security. In terms of location, it can't be .beaten, we would definitely stay here again, perhaps in a 2 bedroom apartment. 3 wheeler tuk tuk rides, make sure they have a meter and its on. Otherwise they can quote any price

The property staff was so bad during check-in on first day 22Jul. We booked 3 Bedroom Accommodation for 3 days but his service to us as if we just hire dorm. He shouldn't work in hospitality business. Definitely No Service Mind At All! But the staff on following day (23Jul) so kind and nice. He moved us from 2nd to 20th floor. The way he do so different from yesterday staff. He's so polite.

Not really sea facing as they claimed while booking, but apart from that everything else was good.

Perfect hotel, very close to beach. Ideal for relaxing and enjoying the sun by the sea or poolside. Rooms are spotless and spacious with everything laid out well. All food is freshly cooked and the service flawless. We were looked after incredibly well by Anura and Dominic who could not do enough to help. Many thanks to all the staff.

excellent staff who could not do enough to make sure your stay was as you would want it.Pool was wonderfully warm and gardens were exquisite and very colourful. Trains were noisy but interesting and after a while you did not notice them.

The hotel was beautiful, well appointed and comfortable. The pool was beautiful. The railway is at the end of the garden and is occasionally noisy but I loved it. I would recommend staying here as a couple for relaxation.

Exceptional holiday destination. Well-appointed villas and helpful staff. Food is very good as well. Beach is clean and a short walk from hotel.

We had amazing experience staying in this hotel. First of all is a designer villa owned by reach local which gave it to Jetwing for management afterwards. It has 4 rooms. 2 Standart, one superior and one superluxe. We booked a Standart, but recieved a free upgrade to superluxe. Which has 30m2, Seaview, huge bathroom, huge wardrobe. This room used to be the owners room. Villa has an own Sheff, which prepare unique dishes by our willing, by the very reasonable prices, at suitable time for us. I can say it is a "Micheline" level Sheff. Villa has own swimming pool and 5 magnolia trees. The beach is just amazing. We're been different places in Lanka, but Kosgoda is a delicious place. Here the 5 types of turtles put there eggs every night coming here even from Afrika. The water and beach are clean and unspoiled. If you like noisy evenings, eat out you can take Tuk Tuk car from the hotel and go to Bentota. When you came back to your fantastic villa, you'll feel the difference.

This is a small place, just four rooms. The architect was a protege of the famous Sri Lankan architect, Geoffrey Bawa, and it shows. Very well laid, lovely design. As we had the place to ourselves, it felt very special. From a glance at the Guest Comments Book, other visitors felt the same. Plenty of hrlp from the stff - organised a massage, advice about gettig to Lunaganga, Bawa's garden, and taking us down to the beach to watch a turtle laying eggs. Great food, though not much variety. A couple of things needed. A sign at the end of the lane - its tricky to find otherwise. And a kettle etc in the room.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The food was excellent, had lots of flavor. The place didn't have a menu/buffet so we had the freedom of getting the in-house Chef to make what we wanted. The Tomato soup was delicious. The property only had 4 rooms, so we were well looked after. The beach is about a 2min walk from the property. We had a very relaxing time, and will definitely be back again.

Beautiful colonial plantation in quite remote location. Wonderful views, breakfast on the veranda watched by leaping monkeys. Food good quality, very pleasant service. Nice swimming pool with amazing views. Very large attractive rooms. Comfy bed. We would recommend.

Villaen er nok 20-25 minutter med bil fra flyplassen og i en landsby utenfor Colombo. Så her er det ikke mye annet man kan gjøre enn slappe av der. Paret som driver stedet er fra Canada og overtok management bare en uke før vi kom. Svært hyggelige mennesker som gjorde at vi følte oss hjemme. De hyret en meget god lokal sjef som disket opp en supergod middag for oss. Alt i alt en meget positiv opplevelse.

This hotel has breakfast included (verry good) it is walking distance to the most beautiful beach I've seen so far no river to cross nothing. The train station Bentota is 50 metres away next to Coco's restaurant for fresh fish and cold beer ! Staying a few days here is a must !

We stayed here for two nights to pause on our way back to the airport. For us, a family with young kids, it was a great place to stay: far enough away from the busy Bentota main road in a small street in a quiet residential area, where we only heard the sounds of the birds. We did have our own transport which made it easy, but the owners also kindly offered to arrange for a tuktuk driver just in case we'd need one. The garden is large and beautiful (adjacent to a river so bring mosquito repellent) with a swimming pool to entertain the kids. The family room was spacious, had a warm shower and good aircon (no mosquito nets so the door had to stay closed). The staff was very kind and attentive, they made us a lovely breakfast and were there for us if we needed anything. Thanks for a great stay!

It was just a last-minute reservation but I wish I could stay longer. It was the best out of all the properties I stayed at so far. I was given a warm welcome and loved the yoga session in the morning. Was surprised to experience such nice ayurvedic treatments which was the highlight for me.

Great place to stay in Beruwala the hosts were very friendly and the room was huge. For us the location was fine as we had a tuk tuk, not sure if this would be as accessible without.

When it comes to the room, it was spacious, clean and cosy. I may say the hotel has one of the best cleaning services i have experienced, i met their staff Achintha Kumara few times how he was cleaning the room, he was doing a detailed clean up. I also should add that the staff was gorgeous, my partner had an ear infection, and the hotel on their expenses took us to hospital, arranged the check, waited us for the treatment and brought us back to the hotel. Definitely, one of best services i have received in an hotel.

This is a fabulous hotel. Our room was huge, with a fantastic sea view and a very comfortable bed. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing and we also had dinner in the restaurant one night and had some lovely Sri Lankan food. The icing on the cake is the absolutely spectacular roof top infinity pool - without doubt the best pool I have ever experienced at a city centre hotel. You can have a old drink brought to your sun lounger too. This was so welcome after sightseeing in the heat and humidity of the city. If you are thinking of booking this hotel, don't hesitate- just do it!

The breakfast buffet was excellent, with outstanding service! The infinity pool was amazing, with unbelievable views and service within the pool area. Overall, it was a wonderful hotel stay and would fully recommend the hotel.

Though it's a 4 star hotel, it provides a higher level of service than 4 stars. We were upgraded to a better room for free upon checking in, our checkout time was kindly extended till 3 pm, the service was always fast and prompt. The breakfast is so plentiful and rich, it has dishes from arabic cuisine, local food, international. And everything is fresh and tasty, there are so many things to choose from. The swimming pool is very clean and there are multiple guards on site all the time. The pool also offers incredible views to the ocean and part of the city. Bathroom had all the amenities. They brought daily 4 bottles of water, soft drinks in the room bar were for free.

The inifinity pool was better than the photos. We expected it to be small and full of screaming children. Instead, it was bigger than expected and it was not overly busy. We could always find a lounge in the shade and didn't have to compete with hoardes to enjoy the pool with its amazing view. In addition we liked: buffet breakfast, outdoor seating with view for buffet breakfast, quiet and clean corridors, room-service dining, access to small shopping mall via elevator (didn't have to leave building). For us, most of our hotels in Sri Lanka were worse than the photos. This one was BETTER than the photos showed!

The gentleman at check in was so lovely, very polite and friendly! The room was a lovely big size with a big comfy bed. Air con worked perfectly but as it wasn’t overly warm it wasn’t needed for long. The bathroom was lovely, enclosed shower and a lit mirror which I love! Location worked well for me as I didn’t want to stay anywhere near fort station, way too busy for me, whereas this is near the parks and they’re lovely to visit, a much calmer side of Colombo. The rooftop pool, albeit bare, is a perfect escape! There’s three levels up there depending on if you want a pool or just rooftop seating with great views! Very very happy with my stay here

The staff were great, rooms were comfortable, rooftop pool was small but a welcome relief from the heat of Colombo. The view from the seating area adjacent to the pool was fantastic, especially in the evening. Breakfast was really good. My friends and I really enjoyed our stay here.

My husband and I took our 1 year old for our first holiday. We stayed in a pool access room which was exactly that with the bonus of bring close to the beach. Pool area and bar was perfect. Lots of different depth areas so my daughter could enjoy the pool, walking and sitting in the water. Food was good. Buffet varied day to day and had a good selection. Very accommodating of chn and will cook what they need. Allowed late checkout as our daughter was sleeping and didn't remove all inclusive band so we could eat lunch after check out. Kids club was great, esp the indoor playroom. Staff there were very friendly and let us use the room after checking out over their lunch break. Overall we would recommend this hotel 😊

Lots of activities (table tennis, tennis, badminton, pool volleyball, beach volleyball, discos, pools, spa, gym, archery range) for people of all ages. The pool is huge and segmented so everyone has lots of space to spread without being on top of each other. We spent a lot of time in the pool, family family-friendly. There’s a kids' club where you can leave the kids if you need to and a small kids' play area. Lots of daily and weekly activities including mini-games, mini discos, water games, and aerobics. The sea is a bit rough here but the hotel has a beautiful private beach. Great food! The staff is friendly and the facilities are well-maintained.

The staff are very helping and friendly. Always willing to help with any problems you may have. The hotel is not a modern type of hotel, but has lots of character. The two swimming pools are a bonus. The first is a large long stretched out pool with plenty of space for everyone. The other is a large quiet pool for those who want to swim or spend time in the pool with less noise. The eating areas are large and spacious. My only negative point is if you are a vegetarian. Then on some days the choice can be limited. But if you ask the head chef. They will try to make food to satisfy your vegetarian lifestyle the next time you eat. The beach can be littered with some rubbish bought in on the tide from the nearby towns. But the staff do clean it monthly. In August the tide can be a little strong.

I had one night here before I met my friend to go down to Hikkaduwa. It cost 1760 rupees from the airpot & I booked through the first desk at the airport when you walk out of arrivals. The front lobby of the hotel was very impressive & overall I thought that the hotel was lovely, in some parts it looks like it's starting to wear but not in a way that would ever deter me from going back. I was not aware that it was an 'all inclusive' & that not being apart of that would be pricey drinks and food. But I should have looked at the hotels website while making my booking. There are lots of restaurants and the spa is near one of the two pools, the quiet one, and is located in 3 huts. Hearing the sound of the ocean whilst receiving a massage was total relaxation. The room 131 was in front of the main pool and had a sea view, it was heaven. I was able to open my sliding door, sit at my patio or loungers, seriously, I could have done a cart wheel into the pool. Impressive for a lady of 5'3. Bed was okay, but a bit hard. The breakfast buffet had options, and I thought it was decent. Staff was lovely & they who worked hard and wanted you to enjoy your stay. Taxi back to the airport to meet my friend (when using the hotel's service) was 2750. My final thoughts: would definitely stay again as it's only 35-40 minutes from the airport and would be a nice get away. Now that I'm down in Hikkaduwa however, I would say the beach is much nicer here, but it is a 3-4 hour from the airport.

Lovely big hotel. Quiet area near river on one side and beach on the other. Lots of activities throughout the day by the Animation team. Good evening etertainment. Buffet breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was brilliant with lots of western choice and also Sri Lankan. Dinner was OK. Lots of availability of drinking water battles in room, daily and also easily available at all the bars. This is a big plus as no shops closeby to buy water from and also a big help during meals if not on Fully Inc. This was a big plus for us. I had a wonderful experience staying at this hotel. Upon arrival, we faced an unfortunate situation where our wallet and passports were left behind in the taxi. Despite not having any payment ready, the hotel staff were incredibly understanding and allowed us to check in without any issues. They saw that we were women traveling with a child and kindly made an exception, which we truly appreciated. The room itself had a beautiful view of the Lotus Tower, which was a pleasant surprise. The location of the hotel was also perfect, as taxis and autos were easily available in the area, making it convenient to explore the city. It was also within walking distance to many well-rated restaurants and popular sightseeing spots in Colombo, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for its excellent service, convenient location, and stunning views.

We recently stayed at City Hotel Colombo 02 and booked one Standard Room and one Family Room. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and very reasonably priced for the facilities offered. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. A special thanks to Geeth at the front desk—he is one of the most honest and genuine people we’ve met during our travels. I accidentally overpaid at check-in, and before I even realized it, he returned the extra amount. I’ve traveled to many countries, but this level of honesty and service truly stood out. The manager and the entire team were very supportive and made our stay smooth and pleasant. Sri Lankan hospitality is amazing—warm, kind, and sincere. Thank you once again for a wonderful experience!

Firstly we were allowed to book in early as we landed on an early morning flight. Great welcome from friendly and very helpful staff whom explained the local area and helped us to our room. A Clean good size guest orientated room with a comfortable bed and a super shower, tea making facilities and a mosquito repellent in the wall. Friendly atmosphere by the staff and fellow guests. Great location, just 10 min drive from the airport. The local restaurants and a good supermarket are within a short walk. The view from the balcony was sublime, overlooking the lagoon with a breathtaking sunset. Breakfast on the balcony was great. It was nice and tasty with fresh fruit, sausages, tomatoes, onions and omelette, beautiful toast with butter and jam, tea, coffee and water. The check-out was simple and quick, again staff helped carry bags and helped load the vehicle.

I booked this hotel last minute due to a change of plans, and I was really pleased with my stay. From the moment we arrived, the staff were excellent. They contacted us on WhatsApp, which made communication really easy and smooth. Shortly after we arrived, we were greeted by a lovely member of staff who showed us to our room and provided us with some refreshing water. This same staff member also ensured that our breakfast was ready for us nice and early the next day, which we really appreciated. The breakfast was delightful, with a great selection of eggs, toast, sausages, fruit, fruit juice, and our own choice of hot drinks. The view of the lagoon was stunning, and the area in general was just lovely. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience, especially considering the last-minute nature of our booking. Highly recommend!

Cleanliness of this place and the individual attention given to each and every guest is admirable. The building has 3 floors and currently the 3rd floor is being constructed. The biggest attraction of this resort is that it is surrounded by the natural scenic beauty. The water Lagoon is right by the property. Some guests would have unrealistic expectations expecting the large ocean-like Lagoon to have pristine distil water so that they could swim. But that would be unrealistic. No swimming, but boat riding, fishing etc are daily activities. Please do not expect you can go swimming in the Lagoon. Overall it is beautiful, serene and calm with soft breeze wafting your body when you sit outside. Plenty of restaurants and eateries both high end and low. In short this is the best holiday resort within the urban area in Colombo.

The resort had a great location. It was near the airport and right outside our room from the balcony we could see the lagoon. The sounds of the water were so relaxing. The sunset view was beautiful. There were several coconut trees outside which only added to the beauty. Rooms were clean and AC was working fine. The staff was excellent very friendly and helpful. They served us breakfast at 3 am which was so nice of them. They also helped us by arranging a city tour of Colombo and provided pick n drop from the airport. Overall it was a great experience. If i visit srilanka again i will still choose this resort.

The location is great and very close to the city center, buses, and tasty places to eat. The pool was very clean and a good size, and there are plenty of spaces to relax around the pool and elsewhere in the outside area. The food was absolutely delicious, particularly the banana and honey waffles that are the option of breakfast is included. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable with good air conditioning; the shared bathrooms are also very clean with good hot water. The staff are very friendly and gave us some good advice about the area and which buses to catch.

Nicest hostel I stayed in in Sri Lanka! Super clean, beds were comfy, and bathrooms were so nice. There’s a restaurant attached to it which is great if you arrive late. Also near lots of places to eat, even though it’s an expensive part of town. The pool at the sister hotel next door is also fab and so nice that we could use it. Arranged transport to the airport too and let me shower before my flight. And the staff were so incredibly friendly.

It's the best stop for anyone starting off their trip through Sri Lanka. You're able to get an all-you-can-eat continental breakfast at their sister hotel for around 2000 laks as well as access to their pool. It was best way to recover from my long flight. The bed bods are clean with your own socket and reading lamp. The bathrooms are clean and offer hot water. There are plenty of them so I never had to wait in line.

This is an upmarket hostel with beaut restaurant bar attached and pool privileges and excellent buffet breakfast (not included 2200lkr ) tgat very nice and close sister property Seahorse Hotel with beautiful gardens. Bunks are tunnel type with desks /chairs in the rooms power plugs and light with ample lockier space under the beds (you get the key ) with your electronic swipe entry card to the hostel rooms 400 m to the beach and beach restaurants and shops

The location is very accessible and a few meters from stores, coffeeshops, Popeye's and fresh foods at Kells. Convenience stores were on the next avenue as was a mall, electronic stores, mobile stores etc. Good location and an excellent staff who is attentive and helpful round the clock. I will stay here again.

Good value for money and location. Very friendly helpful staff. Had all the required facilities in the room. First I was given a room which was a bit noisy because it was facing a main street, but the room was changed to another one due to renovation works later on, and the new one was really nice and spacious.

Ramada by Wyndham Hotel is a great alternative to the big named surrounding 5* + hotels . It's a 4* hotel with a more realistic price tag, but just as good .Spacious clean rooms in a superb location. Staff in all outlets are professional and friendly especially in the Oasis Bar where I was welcomed as a solo traveller by Jerushan, he offered a great friendly fast service and seemed genuinely interested in his career choice, attentative and a keenness to learn more. Its a very nice place to spend the evening relaxing, modern music, big screen for the live sports, pool table and bottle deals. The Indian Mogul restaurant Alhambra has a wide selection of authentic food that is second to none , highly recommended. All in all Ramada has great facilities friendly welcoming staff and should be remembered when making a reservation in Colombo. Finally a big thankyou to the housekeeping team who keep the rooms spotless , in my case Sithum who takes pride in his work , hard working and attentative on a daily basis.

It was so beautiful and people was so kind . Mr. Nipun the front office manager , Madhavi, Nicethitha, Asanka the doorman , Nishan and Keshan helped us during the stay. The checking was so smooth . The pool was nice and the rooms are spacious and very clean. Visited the Ganagaramaya and it was such a nice place to visit. We will come back to the hotel. And i recomand this hotel to my friends and families as well.

Great location, right by Galle Face Green. We also walked to Ganaramaya Temple, Colombo Fort station and Pettah Market, each very approximately 30-40 minutes away. The hotel and room were spotless, the bed very comfortable, lovely shower and bath, very quiet at night. Great pool, which the hotel kindly allowed us to use for a few hours after checking out of our room and going to the airport. Staff were quietly polite and helpful.

What an amazing oasis of serenity. We stayed 4 nights and could easily have stayed longer. Greeted warmly by Rekah and her friendly efficient staff, offered a cooling drink and presented with cold towels to cool off. Great start! From first sight it is apparent that great care and attention is paramount at Kurumba Villas: The ornate gardens are immaculate, the large pool clean and sparkling. Taken to our villa: Large bedroom, big comfy bed, fridge, A/C, ceiling fan, tv, safety box. separate sink with tea/coffee, huge modern shower room. Rekah has a great eye for detail it is clear: in the quality furnishings, paintings, layout of the gardens. It really is lovely and should be commended. Breakfast is served on the verandah of the main house, overlooking the garden and pool. So pretty. Soft music is played. European style breakfast and tea/coffee on fine china. It may be possible for Sri Lankan perhaps. We were invited to partake in a rice and curry lunch, which we accepted and was very tasty indeed. Birds, squirrels and the occasional mongoose frequent the gardens. We did have a couple of instances of squirrels scampering across the roof but really, not a problem. No bugs or insects inside but do wear mozzie spray at night (as in all Sri Lanka). Lovely stay, absolutely recommend.

The villas were very large with a big bathroom. Great size pool with pool towels included and lovely gardens. Staff were very nice with a simple check in. The breakfast was lovely. Short walk into Bentota for restaurants. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed here for 5 nights at the end of our Sri Lankan tour last week. We had a lovely, airy chalet in well tended gardens. Set back from the busy road behind large privacy gates. A little haven amongst the bustle of Bentota. Lovely, friendly, attentive owner and staff. They were so kind and eager to help in any way. It's such a homely place. Great breakfast looking over the gardens and pool. The pool is a decent size to swim and relax beside. Easy access to the beach and restaurants. A great cafe across the road for basic eats in or taking out savoury and sweet pies/ samosas/ wraps, etc. We could also eat on site if we wished as the kitchen staff were happy to cook a Sri Lankan meal. Easy access to the railway station, miles of beaches, local cafes, and bigger hotels, but also quieter roads next door for a cultural stroll to several local temples. Happy Garden is a great, traditional restaurant, right by the railway track. The Loft was good for a drink, over looking the beach. We walked, swam with turtles, visited a turtle conservation centre, snorkelled, ate, and relaxed! Kurumba Villas is a perfect location for all. It was easy to sort a transfer to the main Colombo International Airport, too.

We booked in for our last night in Negombo, after an amazing 3weeks in Sri Lanka. We read the reviews, some not too good , but our priority was a pool and relaxing day . We weren’t disappointed. The pool is fabulous and right on the beach.as they serve food around the pool , it meant we didn’t have to wait the long “Sri Lankan time “ stuck inside when sun was shining. The bar food was absolutely delicious, a welcome to have some European food . Very reasonabl, quick and beautifully presented. yes there are crows waiting to hop , but and we did see one attack another table, and one swooped down on my daughters chip in her hand while walking to the sun bed. So management should try some “scare crows “: as this may be harmful to small children, not as aware. Apart from that , we also had the buffet food, which was just fantastic, first fillet beef we had, but choices full Sri Lankan and European. Our room was in main building, bright and airy and good accessories and a balcony . Perhaps it is more a 4 star, but would still recommend

The hotel is well located right on the beach with an amazing spacious pool. Restaurant had a wide selection of local and international food to suite most. Staff always smiling and helpful with most having very good English. We were made to feel extremely welcome during our nine day staff. The hotel was safe and secure and we used it as a base to travel the country. Only a few things really need tweaking. My wife used the Spa and wasn’t that impressed. The staff tried hard but wasn’t really skilled enough for the Spa treatments on offer. Apart from the pool there’s nothing much for children so maybe set up something that kids can enjoy ( face painting, henna, some form of craft workshop). Overall myself and my family would recommend this hotel, it’s close to the airport (30 min drive) and very comfortable and reasonably priced for families

Bar staff seemed to ignore guests and pool side waiter got food order wrong . Only one of our family group got the food they had ordered but as we had waited so long we just ate it.

Wonderful stay for our last night in Sri Lanka! If you need to stay close to the airport, Negombo is the perfect spot. The resort has a private beach with a gorgeous pool. Across the street you will find loads of restaurants and shops. Negombo is a wonderful and quaint beach town. The resort has shows and activities every night. The cultural show was incredible, it was something you would pay for at a theatre. Staff was friendly and curteous. Overall we loved it!

First of all the architecture of the resort is stunning, the size of our villa with sea view and private pool was enormous. We felt right at home, huge bathroom with round bathtub, there was absolutely nothing missing. Fernando our ‚butler‘ was the best helping even to organize certain things for us. The the Spa: we had a couple treatment and it was fantastic! The Chef in the restaurant is GREAT, he accommodated a few special wishes - not many guests end of October.

Exceptionally friendly, helpful staff, games room for kids was amazing with free to play pool, table football and arcade games and arts & crafts. Rooms were spacious with one of the best shower rooms I've ever used, multiple shower options, walk in bath with views of the river. We booked a suite - the bed was incredible, massive and soo comfortable. A la carte breakfast was amazing, both European and Asian options, perfectly cooked and all of it delicious. The best food overall of our hol (staying in several 5 star resorts) Beautiful pool with views of the beach. Kids loved the hotels water park too which was a unique feature.

The hotel is beautifully designed in the style of the famous architect Jeffrey Bawa. Our stay in the villa with a small pool and garden was truly fantastic. The rooms are spacious, and the shower area is breathtakingly large. Our personal butler was exceptionally attentive and took care of all our needs. We truly enjoyed a relaxing holiday. The hotel is located right on the beach, surrounded by a beautiful garden and a large pool, making it an oasis of tranquility. Moreover, we had the opportunity to embark on various trips organized by Nelson, our trusted driver of many years, who has shown us the wonders of Sri Lanka. Additionally, the hotel offers canoeing trips through the lagoon, providing another exciting way to explore the surroundings. During one of our canoeing adventures, we were thrilled to spot several large lizards basking in the sun along the shoreline. It was a memorable experience that added an extra layer of adventure to our stay. Additionally, the hotel offers various massages, all performed in a very hygienic and discreet environment, further enhancing our relaxation during our stay. The dining experience was of high quality, especially the seafood platter, which was exceptionally delicious and flavorful, consisting of various fish, shrimp, and crab.

We booked the one-bedroom suite with a pool, and it was absolutely fantastic. The resort itself is exceptionally nice, with very friendly staff. The food was outstanding. The kids' pool and play area felt like an exclusive waterpark, which had my kids going wild. All in all its become my favourite place to relax in the Negombo area.

I have picked Wattura Resort for a quick holiday with my daughter. I selected the suite overlooking the river. As I booked promptly I was contacted by the hotel staff to acknowledge my stay. The check in was smooth and we were escorted to our suite. I love the room as it was very private and secluded. The main highlight was the wattura kids which my daughter thoroughly enjoyed during the stay even an adult would get drawn as the place is very inviting during the summer days. Love their lunch set menu which was grand, fine and unique. Savory bites needs a little bit of attention as the hot butter cuttlefish was not the most greatest but the rest make it up for it. I must mention Akila from the lobby and Tharaka/Tharanga at the Papali restaurant was great. We had few glitches but Sujeewa De Zoysa the GM of the resort instantly intervened & resolved it for us. He was very customer centric & was very attentive towards my constructive feedback. His attitude towards welcoming constructive criticism will lead him to manage the resort to attract more guests in future. They have a lovely pool overlooking trh ocean and the morning walks on the ocean shore is so serene and relaxing. Difinetly planning to visit with my kids in the near future to let them enjoy the property esp. The wattura kids. Good luck to Sujeewa and His team.

Location is very good and hospitality, they, even picked us up from train station!

It was a calm environment and nice welcome. Very clean and comfortable

The place is quiet and near the beach. The owner is very helpful and very kind. They treated us like they knew us for a long time and was helpful when we tried to look for a house
