Xcarat is beautiful, clean, safe and one stop shop. We had a great time this around . Got upgraded with a swim up pool , so that was a plus. Food is delicious and convenient. Love it , will be coming back soon

As a solo traveler this was amazing, all inclusive amenities galore! The swim up garden room was an absolute dream to sleep In each night, everything from the historic art and soul poured into each room to the smallest details of local made goodies left as gifts almost daily, each with its own story to tell of its origins and heritage. The staff were all super helpful one gentleman even went as far as to pause his duties and directly escort me to the gym area. Everything from the beaches, the gift shops, the endless drink and food options made this stay definitely a hard one to top!

We loved everything about our stay. We stayed in casa de la paz and we had the bonus of having free hydrotherapies if we wanted as part of our stay. The food was incredible, the highlight was Apapachoa, although is vegan it's top quality and the service was the best. You're never bored to know where to go, so many options of pools, roof top pools, water canals and beach. Having access to all the parks is always a big plus! our favourite was Xplor Fuego and Xochimilco. The room was sensational! we stayed 2 weeks for our honeymoon and the bed was so comfortable, we even tried the sauna in the bathroom! All in all, no complaints with the room. Staff was all super friendly, always willing to make your stay more fun and comfortable. In terms how we would rate the restaurants, most favourite were Apapachoa (rooftop delight), Encanta (degustation menu with view of the theatre), and Arenal (awesome lunch options), Mercado San Juan (lots of delicious food options, we loved sunday's brunch), Cayuco (we loved making our own seafood cocktails and ceviches), Chino Poblano (great asian and mexican mix of flavours), Cantina (great flavours). Best places for cocktails rooftop pool bar at casa la piramide and Arenal. We also went to HA in our last night and was worth every penny! very memorable and incredible food, definitely worthwhile to go.

This is a 10 out of 10 hotel. Food was exceptional..especially at the pool (pool menu vavavoom). Hotel itself was loco fabulous. The parks included...wow! Make sure to use the pools as they are fabulous...and the river kayaks!

This hotel was awesome. Food and drinks were good, staff was great, parks and workshops were fun, room was big, clean and comfortable. Everyday you received a Mexican treat enclosed in a small weave basket to take home - in addition to your stocked out mini bar and snack tray. You also get to keep the reusable water bottles and beach bag in your room. The communication between me and the hotel via email before arrival was excellent. I was able to reserve activities, airport shuttle, and restaurants prior to my stay. You need a reservation for the restaurant Tah-Xido but it was worth it. I also enjoyed the other restaurants Mercedes de San Juan, Cayuco, and Arenal. The wet bar at the pool was nice and a lot of sitting areas. I recommend this hotel.

The hotel is first class: from the property, to the food, to the staff. The room was beautiful; swim up pool/river. Everything was super clean!The grounds were amazing. I felt I was staying in a lush botanical garden.

First time out of many trips to Mexico when we didn't want to leave hotel premises. There's so much walkable territory with gorgeous sites, river, island, multiple dining options including Michelin star restaurant. The kids loved the vacation and swim up suite connected with kids pool and slide. Tequila was great, grasshoppers still stuck between teeth, and the photos showcase natural beauty beyond description. Convenient closeness to all x-parks and shuttle between them was an awesome add on. We will be back.

We loved everything! At the airport they have a lounge right outside the airport. We were greeted with warm hospitality and was able to start the check in process while we waited for their newer comfortable bus that transported us to resort. When we arrived at the beautiful Xcaret Mexico we were greeted with homemade chocolate popsicles and a cool washcloth. We fortunately stayed in Fuego and had an escort take us to our private check in. Check in was simple and we were shown to our rooms where our luggage had already arrived. The butler was busy so we took the opportunity to unwind in the swim up pool. The butlers were attentive and ensured that we had reservations for dinner, Xei Ha park and the catamaran tour. We tried various restaurants. Our favorite was Cuervos a cave with a Brazilian restaurant flair and beautiful live jazz music. Fuego was also one of our favorites. The food was amazing and the service impeccable. Our favorite park by far was Xplor. Zip lining and the water rides were so much fun. The juice bar and restaurant food was very good.

Our first several days started out wonderful! Amazing service, beautiful property, delicious food. The last few days we saw a drop in service. Housekeeping took our dirty towels but didn’t replace them, no toilet paper, body wash, shampoo were refilled. Most of the food was amazing and Xin-GAO was our favorite by far. La Cantina was a let down. Food was dry and not appealing. Finally, very poor experience at the pool our final full day. The restaurants were busy so my son ordered pizza to room service. We had seen people eating some of the food that was pool side (crepes, tacos, ice cream) and even watched people bring dripping ice cream cones INTO the pool. So we didn’t think it would be an issue for him to eat a slice of pizza pool side. We were scolded and told this is prohibited, so we immediately apologized and said he would take it back to his room to finish. The server then went and told the lifeguard even though it was already dealt with and we were scolded a second time which was unnecessary. The server then got all the other servers together pointed at us and then he came back over and told us we were getting a warning and were scolded a third time. They stopped serving us. My son had left to handle it within 2 min. Was an extremely rude and excessive reaction especially given there no signs that say no food poolside. When we told the front desk about the incident he told us, “You are in Mexico and we have rules too”. Rude and dismissive of our experience.

We had a wonderful stay; the property feels fairly new and is really well set up with beautiful pools, small beaches and nice dining options. The staff (poolside and in restaurants) are really helpful and genuinely friendly. The room was beautiful and well equipped (if a bit damp when AC is off). The kids’ pool in particular is brilliant and our daughter loved the octopus slide. The food and drinks options were pretty good, with breakfast at the Mercado being the standout. Transportation to Xcaret Park via the boat was brilliant.

Great property and dining. The service and staff were wonderful. Would have liked a coffee shop, swim up bar in the adults only section and our bed wasn't great.

This was our first time at this property. Very nice that you had more than plenty walking paths, needed to be marked better. I got turned around several times and I am pretty good with direction. We found it strange that the family side had swim up bars but not the adult only. The private TRS Beach was nice and had great food choices (if it was stocked and ready to go). The service when it comes to the resturants weren't as attentive compared to others we have been to. Overall a great time and beautiful place.

Very nice resort. Private pool was amazing, a little small but perfect for relaxing. Some of the food at the buffets was only okay, but the restaurants were great. Staff was friendly and always remembered my name and what our plans were, even reminded me about a floating breakfast i booked and forgot about, which was good because the breakfast was amazing. Spa is very nice relaxing. Shows were fun. Pools were great and never felt too busy. Would definitely come back!

We went to TRS for a girls' trip and were impressed with the property. The lobby/main building is beautiful, and check-in went smoothly. We stayed in Villa 69, directly across from the smaller, more chill pool. We had jacuzzi poolside suites that were very spacious and clean. There are a lot of mirrors and areas to get ready and store your clothes and toiletries. Robes and slippers. The e-butlers were great in helping us with reservations, drinks for the room, cart service throughout the property, etc. The food at the restaurants was a bit hit or miss for us. We especially liked the food at Capricho and La Boheme. The Chic Caberet is fun but not as sexy as you imagine by the dancers before the show. The infinity pool was our favorite. We were too scared to get into the saltwater one. We did the hydro experience at the spa, which was "ok". Drinks were ever-flowing and not watered down. Room service late at night was terrible and took 2 hours for delivery. Our other hiccup was that the bellman didn't pick me up with my daughters as arranged, which caused a delay, stress, and a rushed breakfast before our transport arrived. This is an excellent place for a more relaxing and quiet vacation. If you want a nightclub and a crazy pool-side party vibe, you will end up at their sister Colonial property for a swim-up bar and live music. Shout out to Belen, Hugo, Alejandro and Nestor.

From start to finish our stay was amazing. Staff went above and beyond to satisfy our needs. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. There’s two other resorts you have access to which were nice. Our butler’s , Alexx and Maggie were very attentive, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about helping to meet our every need. I’ve been to Mexico a few times and I can honestly this visit by far was the best! We got a room with the swim up pool. It was nice and spacious, room didn’t smell like mildew. Room service was fast (depending on time of the day) and accurate every time. Kelly, Marco,Henry, the manager at the Italian restaurant (can’t remember her name) Maggie and Alexx were all amazing and helped make our vacation memorable! I will be returning! Book it! You won’t be disappointed.

My husband and I went for our honeymoon and had a blast. We loved the resort and did not want to leave. The property was clean and the staff was welcoming and friendly. Only 2 minor complaints: swim out pool needed to be cleaned/skimmed more often & the staff knocked on our room door too much.

We celebrated our honeymoon with a swim-out room in building 1 and could not have had a better experience. Alondra (our concierge) was exceptional. The room was very clean and views were stunning. The restaurants/meals were fabulous and cocktails were delicious. All staff are extremely kind and welcoming. The pools and service were exceptional. We highly recommend a snorkeling tour with Victor, Manuel, David & Rodrigo. We cannot wait to plan a return visit!

Thank you Secrets Akumal for an unforgettable vacation experience. From the moment we checked-in to check-out, the staff, service, food, etc was impeccable. Words can’t even begin to describe the beauty of this resort. We were most impressed with how the staff remembered our names which truly made us feel like home/familia. We stayed in a king swim out room with preferred club. It was perfection! We are already looking at our schedules to return next year! Secrets Akumal went above and beyond, raising the bar in every way.

This place was perfect! The hotel itself is another wonderful Secrets: clean and luxurious with a 5 star level of services and pampering. The heart of the hotel is definitely dedicated and beyond friendly staff who do their absolute best to make you feel at home. They go above and beyond to provide a fun, accommodating, special experience. They all introduce themselves and eagerly want to assist you with anything and everything they can. There are certain members that need a shout out because they made my husband and I feel so spoiled the whole week we were there: Max, Gina, Carla, Carlos and Abraham were a few from the activities team, bartenders: Ivan and Moses from the swimup bar, Miguel and Samuel from poolside assistance and concierges Regina and José! These were just a few that specifically made our trip amazing. The food here is delicious, we had our favorite restaurants like the French and Asian places. My advice for those coming here from Maroma: they are like siblings, NOT twins. They have differences and Akumal is bigger with better snorkeling right next to the beach!

PROS: Property is beautiful, nice location, clean beach, dining options are great (wish the buffet option was available in the evening) and the staff is amazing. CONS: Room furniture, bedding, pillows and resort furniture had staining. Dead bugs in towels. “Plunge Pool” in the room had signs of deterioration, water valve wouldn’t shut water completely, mildewing. The “preferred club” option is Not worth it, gives access to the “preferred “ beach section and lounge, which we did not use, the $200 credits are very restricted and can only be used for spa service ($40 max), wine ($10) or applied to a private romantic dinner (approx dinner cost $395 and only $40 coupon can be used). We were supposed to receive a bottle of preferred alcohol to our room upon arrival, the bottle Never arrived. There were some room issues, missing remote, missing robes, some spotty cleaning , but overall ok. With the “preferred “ rate you have the option to also dine at the seaside grill for breakfast al a carte as well as the buffet. The wait for the dinner restaurants was always on average 45-60 mins, with the exception of 1 night at the steakhouse. Also, did Not like being hassled or pressured into attending presentation(s) with the dangling of free resort credits or free future night stay(s). We found it extremely rude to waste/demand hours of time in a sales pitch after hours of traveling upon entering the hotel during our vacation. We had a good time & would consider returning.

Amazing hotel ! Carlos is so sweet and available with his clients, the room is beautiful and clean, the bathroom is spectacular and the pool is very cool ! We also got a private mini pool ! Everything was perfect

The Hubby and I fell in love with the place. So clean, quiet the view is fantastic and the staff was absolutely fantastic. Gerardo went above and beyond for us even on his day off which honestly made our stay that much better. We also met Mirta and Raul which were also soo awesome! The pool outside is also super cute the way its set up. We are definitely coming back next year as a family. Gerardo should definitely be an extra rewarded employee, he honestly did go above and beyond for us.

Super clean, comfortable beds, nice little pool and great entertainment in room. Service from the staff was impeccable and breakfast very tasty. All in all a great experience. My only reservation is that it's a little far from the beach so you might need a car or taxi for that!

Property in excellent condition, very quiet and private. Good wifi, nice pool, breakfast included; my entire 10 day stay was very comfortable. Shout out to Manuel, Ricky and the whole staff; personable and polite the entire time. Gracias a todos :)

This was my second time at the Barcelo but first time at the AO. We had a Junior Suite swim up room. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The fridge is stocked with sodas and Corona. The towels in the bathroom were big and soft. We used the Buffet for breakfast and a light snack around 2pm. The quality and assortment of food was good. No problems finding something to eat. We visited 5 restaurants throughout the resort and the service was great as well. Nice variety of restaurants and food. Finding chairs was a small challenge but did not interfere with our trip. There was some seaweed and it was windy but I actually enjoyed the wind. I used the SPA and got a massage and used the amenities. I would recommend to go at least one time. I can't wait to go back.

Overall, a fantastic resort - highly recommend! Feels very new, rooms and common areas are so nice, clean, modern, well equipped. Pool is incredibly huge - unlike any pool I've ever seen. Part of a larger resort so fun to bounce around and check out the other areas and offerings. The broader resort has everything you could imagine - a mall, bowling, ice skating, a casino, a dance club, an amazing spa, dolphin show, beach activities, sports bar, mini golf, surfing experience, the list goes on. Only three minor complaints - 1) you can't get booze in your room as part of the all inclusive even with premium level - only beer and very sweet sparking wine, 2) the resort has Pepsi products - I very much prefer Coke products, and 3) no pool side food - you have to get dried off/dressed and go inside to eat at a buffet for lunch. Other than those small issues, the resort is perfect. We've been three times and will be back for sure! If you can get the Presidential suite (premium level) you will certainly be impressed - gorgeous room with incredible views from the large balcony.

Loved our getaway vacation! I want to go back tomorrow 😀. Celebrated our anniversary in the adults only resort. The food was amazing!! We especially loved the Agave Mexican restaurant and the mariachi group that went out of their way to give us a lovely anniversary song at our table! The French restaurant was delicious. Our table host went out of his way to explain the dishes and how they are prepared and give great recommendations. The beach is incredible and very well kept. They are constantly cleaning and raking the sand. Our room was a garden room which we actually enjoyed because it was quiet and private away from loud late night music. This gave us the option to go down and listen to the music but then head back to a very quiet space. The Buffet service for breakfast and lunch had so much to choose from, you could never go hungry. Any of the rules they have in place such as men wearing pants and not shorts for dinner restaurants and not allowing wet pool garments in the buffet area, a checkout system for pool towels etc. were all easy to abide by because it kept a very clean and upscale feel throughout. Special touches by the staff such as a welcome gift in our room and a nice happy Anniversary cake were much appreciated. Great job Barcelo! Thanks for making our first Cancun trip memorable. We will return!

This resort is absolutely amazing. It has all the amenities you need and you'll always find a lounge chair by the pools. Norma Guiterrez is one of the servers at the pool, she alwqys greets and serves you with the biggest smile. Dayma is wonderful as well. We were here for my hubby's 50th and we had a blast!! Can't wait to be back!!

The vacation was wonderful. We got deep relaxation. The beach is large, white sand, lots of shade from palm trees. The sea is wonderful. My husband found a large shell in the sea when he was snorkeling. It's good that you can walk around all the hotels in this group, which is very important for us. The pool is probably not bad, but I'm not interested in it. The food in the buffet is very good, a large selection of dishes, a variety of meat, fish, vegetables, desserts. Mousse cakes are really something. Wow. Omelets, eggs to any taste. Natural yogurt, honey, fresh fruit. Great. Booking dinner in restaurants takes a lot of time, because there is a constant queue. The hotel also has many different activities. Aqua aerobics, dancing, etc. Very high-quality evening concerts, live music. But it's too late for me, 9.30 pm. The room is comfortable. Very wide bed, huge pillows. The mattress is soft but comfortable. Also a very large balcony with a jacuzzi. A feeling of relaxation to the sound of birds singing. Room cleaning is on a par. The only thing that doesn't fit into the high standard of the hotel is the coffeemaker in the room. I haven't seen a cheaper one yet. And there is no body lotion, this is the first time I've had one. Usually in hotels of this level there are always lotions. So I recommend this hotel. It deserves five stars.

great time with family and friends girls week. Our stay was fabulous, the food was great, the pools were wonderful the swim-up bar was delicious. The Faro restaurant was magnificent especially our server, Francisco. At poolside, Nick was tremendous as he gave us a few g massages which were so cool, relaxing and surprising. We had poolside birthday celebrations for a few people in our group and Nick and staff went above and beyond for us always. Our room was nice however the water would switch cool to hot quickly. Service was great. Transportation between the buildings was phenomenal.

We stayed on the Heaven side and truly had the best time...our room was a diamond suite on ground floor with a swim up ocean front....what could be better than that!! Bed was so comfortable and food was great . Lots of entertainment and music sometimes a little to loud but it is the Hard Rock after all. I will say within the first 5 min of arriving we were getting sold on the Legendary club....we didn't even get in the door or have a drink yet We loved our stay and will be back Thanks for a fabulous vacation

My friends helped me celebrate my birthday week and it was an exceptional time from the daily shows, concerts and dancing for hours at Heaven. Thank you to our Butlers Lucio and Bernardo for making every day exceptionally special. From the all day birthday surprises by the pool, at dinner and even the treats and balloons left in my room. Tacos by the beach provided by our personal chef Paola who made the best tacos ever, thank you!!! Uriel, the best swim-up bartender a girl could ever ask for. Luis for the constant rides to and from anywhere. Elizabeth for the best omelets at Isla. And the many, many employees that offered their kindness and smiles. If I have forgotten your name, I will never forget how amazing you all are. I am humbly grateful for being in your presence and cannot wait to return and continue dancing the day away.

The Hard Rock Riviera Maya is the best place my family has ever vacationed at. If we could live there and never leave we totally would. Everything you need or want is at the resort. We have been to many islands and resorts and none have met the quality of this one. The staff is exceptional, and truly makes the experience as exceptional as it is. They they always happy to see you, serve you and help you, and it shows. The food at the buffet was wonderful. Zen restaurant was very good, we didn’t make it to many others as my kids are picky so we stuck to the buffet which never disappointed any of us. The kids club was wonderful, the kids had a blast. The waterpark was my kids favorite activity, it’s a good size, and was great for all ages (my kids are 1, 6, 9 and all enjoyed it). The rooms the AC is ice cold, they beds and pillows are very comfy, the maid service is exceptional. The Grand Rooftop terrace room we had was so great with the rooftop deck with whirlpool, highly recommend. The beach was beautiful and very relaxing and the pools clean. Lots of fun entertainment by the pool all day and amazing shows at night. We got to watch a tribute to Queen concert off our balcony and it was a wonderful experience. Make sure to ask for a beach or pool view room, and as long as they have one they will give it to you. Our view was amazing, and woke up to the sounds of waves crashing every day. If you are looking for an all inclusive family vacation, this is the place you want to be!

I had a swim up suite. The rooms were extremely clean and comfortable. The food was very good at just about every buffet and restaurant. The variety and selection was endless.

I have nothing to complain about as far as the hotel is concerned. The complex was amazing, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Excellent value for money and I would not hesitate to go back. So much choice of food with restaurants and buffet... something for everyone - plenty to do - beach and pool were gorgeous - fantastic place to stay!

Just a dreamy experience altogether. Stayed in the adults only area and got a beach view and super close to breakfast buffet. Staff were impeccable and friendly. Beach and pool service for drinks and timely seaweed cleanup everyday. Very clean rooms and public areas.

The whole expeince was amazing. From the food, the shows, the pools, spa and the employees. There wasn't anything we didn't like.

The staff is amazing. I was here for 9 days for a Joe Dispenza Meditation Conference and everything was beautifully prepared for us. I had Premium Level access to lounge and other perks. Daphne was exceptional with reservations and suggestions! If you come during the summer months it is blistering hot and humid. I am from South Florida but this humidity was a whole other level. Come prepared! Luckily there are lots of bars and restaurants to cool off at. They have buffets and also restaurants that you can make reservations for (no extra fee unless you wish to purchase a bottle of wine). My favorite restaurants were the Spanish (have the lamb chops) and the Italian restaurants. The pools are immaculate and have swim up pool bars. I had a waterfront suite and it is really pool front with a view of the ocean behind it. At this property there is nothing truly oceanfront because the pools are located between the beach and the buildings. I had a great experience and would definitely come back again.

BARCELO is GREAT!...this prob our 12+ Barcelo trip so far....always good...this trip they upgraded us to a Caribe Premier swim up room!!..WOW!...its beautiful !...plus we also got to book our dinner nights!!...Jacquline at the Caribe Premier check in was so nice and helpful !!...the bell boys were also just great and took care of our luggage immediately ...my correspondence with Alberto Bustos was very professional and helpful as well. Would like to say also that Daniel Gomez ,our waiter each morning...and Hassim Viana Jimenez the main manager were very helpful and enjoyable!!...the grounds and pools are maintained and very pretty!!...all of the Caribe workers we've ran across have been just great attitudes and helpful !!..today is our last day here at the Caribe..but...we booked 5 more days at the Barcelo Adult Only !!...more to come!!

This resort is a great place to stay. My wife and I had the Premium access. If you can spring for it, I recommend you do. Instead of having house liquor for our drinks, we were able to choose what brand of liquor we had in our drinks and for shots. The only issue I had was that I was informed that my access worked at all the other resorts, but when I went to the Maya Palace, I was denied a towel, drinks, and to be able to eat there. Was told at the Maya Palace that their amenities were exclusive to their guests only. Told my reception of the issues and they informed me, again, that I should have no issues. Next day, was denied being served drinks, again. If you get the Premium Access package, make sure they have that issue fixed. We also had the swim out suite. Beyond incredible!

Huge resort. Huge swimming pools. Feels like a small town all on its own. No reason to ever leave while there for a week. Decent food at buffets, Tokyo and la trattoria restaurant. But .. Huge seaweed/sargassum problem. They can't keep up cleaning it (and honestly impossible). Beaches are also rocky for the most part. Basically if you go in the summer, you got a use the pools which are nice and lots of shade around them. In the restaurants they require long pants. Period. Can't negotiate. 90F outside and you got a wear pants. Nice shorts, nice shirt, does not matter. Ppl coming in dirty track/sweat pants and sneakers looking 20 years old are welcome. Anyhow, they made us wear their waiter pants (they were washed/dry cleaned before). Expedia does not mention anywhere that pants are required for dinner.

There is plenty of seating around the pool and beach areas. Just a suggestion: the second pool area needs an outdoor bar it’s not ideal walking from the beach and going into the restaurant for a drink.

Stayed at family selection. Our Butler was so incredibly helpful. Loved our private pool and the Nest . Room service was amazing . Staff were so kind and helpful. Loved so many things about this resort. Will definitely be coming back.

We booked the Grand Palladium Family Selection while down the road at a different resort, praying it was better than where we were. Thank goodness it was! It was beautiful. We stayed 5 nights in a swim up room and it was great. The rooms are very modern and comfortable. The main pool was huge and the beach was wonderful. There was a lot to do to keep us entertained and busy. We would definitely go back.

I would highly recommend this resort. We stayed at the family selection swim up room. Abraham was our butler and he was so pleasant to deal with and checked in often. Maria at the Es Niu pool was so friendly and always had a smile. The food was delicious and there was always something to do. I would choose this resort over and over again.

We stayed at the Family Selection and we loved it. So many extra perks: Private Butler (awesome- saves you so much time and hassle), private pool (very elegant and cool- keep an eye out for monkeys on the palm trees), Nest Restaurant (food made better and private menu available) Also, access to all resorts, including the TRS Adult resort (sexy and cool with salt and infinity pool). Everything was amazing and the beach was beautiful. The rooms were updated and elegant. Kids loved it (10 and 12 years old). Night shows could have been better. Everything else was top notch!

We stayed for a week in the Family Selection in a swim up suite. We have a 9 and 12 year old. It was nice having the pool area outside the suite for them to hang out in. The food at the buffets are decent. A good amount of fresh grilled items. Book the restaurants in advance. IMO El Dorado (get Filet Mignon), Japanese Restaurant, and Italian Restaurant are worth booking. The Thai and Brazilian places were not great. Staff are awesome. We had a Butler and it was so handy, they are so responsive. The only warning I would say is it is a great place to go as a family or someone looking for a relaxing vacation. If you are looking to party hard the night time entertainment is OK and the adults only TRS pool seemed to be filled with 60 who were not exactly in the partying mood. It was a great place for what we wanted.

Really liked the lay of the land, you could either have a beach or pool day! lots of swim up bar pool areas, and just nice big pools to float and enjoy! :)

From the moment you arrive you are treated like a family member that has come home after a long time away. We enjoy our stay it was beyond great and our room was perfect. The swim out suite is magnificent. Great place we are going to inquire about getting married there.

All staff were friendly. Foos was great and several options including a vegan restaurant. Swim up villa lovely!

We got the premium swim out suite and we were not happy with it at all. Our room only got 2 hours of sun and the pool was too cold to enjoy. Everything else about this resort is great. We will be back but later in the year and definitely a different room! They do not even try to honor room requests. Food and staff were excellent.

This resort was amazing. Had the opportunity to stay in a swim up beachside room FS which was great. Service from Emmanuel and Luis our butlers was more than top notch. We are already looking forward to next years trip!

This was my first time in a resort In Mexico and i loved it. I Will definitely stay here again, I stayed at the swim up room and that room was right outside the beach. I recommend this place

Very friendly staff. Everyone that worked there took amazing pride in there job. All were smiling and very accommodating. We upgraded to the swim up pool and wow. Our butler was amazing. He scheduled all of our dinners. And gave my son presents every night. Food was very good. Dinners are long because of the 4 courses but service was very good. The drinks were perfect. Never once did we get the stink eye cause I was on my 8th pina colata. The separate family section with the pool was amazing. Drinks / great food / and nice and quiet section with lots for the kids todo.

Perfect private location for relaxing in the sun in pure 5 star luxury, everything from the Bach, the pool, the rooms with the most comfortable beds EVER to the most fabulous foods ever eaten anywhere in the world. It wasn’t our first visit and it certainly won’t be our last as didn’t want to come home and can’t wait to go back 😊

The resort was an amazing place for our getaway. Great food, wonderful service and delightful people! We loved the daily volleyball games in the pool and getting to know other travelers!

The amenities were amazing, the selection of food was exceptional. Plenty of lounge chairs by the pool and on the beach.

Almost every part of our stay was beyond our hopes and expectations. The staff is friendly, attentive, more than simply competent they make it their business to be sure we had everything we needed. The food was wonderful and the accommodations helped make our stay very enjoyable.

The resort is small and intimate. The staff service is outstanding. Everyone knew our name and bent over backward to take care of us. The room and resort were very clean.

I loved everything about this hotel. We had the honeymoon suite and it included a lot. The swim out pool was one of the best. The only thing I didn’t like was the drive to the hotel. It’s an hour away from the airport. The staff is amazing. That’s an understatement! Food was great, and drinks were also. I felt like everyone was catering to us, with no negative energy! Super friendly!!

The property was beautiful, our room was nice and bed was really comfortable. The staff were all extremely kind and helpful. The only negatives would be the food and updates for the hotel. The food was ok, but not great and not many options for room service either. The balconies could use some updating, especially the railing that is by the swim up pool. It was loose and could tell it needed some updating. Overall, my husband and I would stay again, but hopefully the food will be better.

We stayed for a very short stay but enjoying ourselves. We wish we were told more details about the property like restaurants locations and bar locations it wasn’t until we were leaving that we learned about the other dinning options. During our stay we had a room with a swim out which we didn’t use because the water was very cold. I feel there should be a bar or night life option for the seaside suites section as everything closes very early there. I do want to shout out our personal Butler/ concierge Johanna who went above and beyond to make our trip a good one.

The swim up suites are nice, the transportation to get around is convenient. Room service is fast. Beach access is weird amd rhe suites are by am area thar is pay only...kinda weird considering you pay extra to have ocean view you should have access. Concierge guidanc eon the all inclusive activites and activities included for your stay is encouraged. Ours wasnt avail much, so we missed out on a lot.Lots to do it seems. I like how they added the all inclusive package. Staff was kind.The reairt is aged but they are upgrading it. Clean. Access the other resort is nice.

First time at EDSS. We did enjoy the large rooms and liked the idea of the swim out suites. In reality, the swim outs that are elevated are cold and unused. The pools are not heated, not just the swim outs but the main pool. The pools are also heavily shaded which might be lovely in warm months but the I couldn’t even bring myself to do more than dip a toe in December. Each morning we made our way to the Palms side of Seaside Suites and preferred the ocean temperatures for swimming and relaxing. This whole side of the resort has a more friendly vibe and if we ever come back we are definitely Seaside Palms people. Best bar service from Maria!!! She was a star and I hated to see those around me not tipping her. The food on this resort is top notch, not standard bland buffets. We were a little sad that seaside suites only had one restaurant so it felt like we were leaving our hotel to do everything. We didn’t mind the short walks and usually had good luck catching a golf cart ride. The protected beach on Palms side had many varieties of fish eager to eat right from your hands. We did the free catamaran but probably wasn’t worth the long drive and being stuck at the beach club. We left our resort 7:30am and the bus didn’t bring us back until 6:00pm and we almost missed our dinner reservation. We didn’t anticipate it taking so long and that wasn’t explained. Fortunately Javier our Catamarán host was excellent and made it enjoyable even though it was too windy to snorkel.

Had a wonderful time at Akumal and dined at Coba and Tulum for A La Carte...all the ones we went to were exemplary. Although rain was forecast on most days, we had none whatsoever, only blue skies and sunshine. There were 3 eveni as where there were electric storms over the sea, which were amazing to watch. Hotel staff were friendly and thorough, from Bell Boys to Cleaners, Gardeners, Consierge Staff, Bar staff and trolley staff...etc...Most staff spoke good English or at the very least some English. Room was big with a balcony overlooking the sea and Adult only pool and was clean. I would advise taking some humidity bags to hang I the wardrobe. I used 3 in the 2 weeks we were there. For smokers or vapers, there were designated smoking areas outside the Hotel and various other areas around the pool. Cigarettes and cigars were available to buy in the coffee shop or at the Hacienda market which also sold vapes. Crisps and sweets cost a lot at the hotel but they are cheaper at the Hacienda specifically cheapest from the Pharmacy at the Hacienda. Rash tops only seem to be available from the Hacienda, small and large sizes....dont forget to barter. It is worth going on a trip to the caves and/or turtles. Overall, we had the best time. Tips to staff definitely pay off.

The hotel is amazing it’s part of a four sister hotel and 5star rating and there’s a wide variety of restaurants to choose from from Brazilian, French, Mediterranean, Mexican, Italian, Gourmet, Japanese and other cosines Cleanliness faultless . Dress towels and beds made and the rooms are spotless clean every day Drinks - a great choice of alcoholic drinks and non alcoholic beverages to enjoy pool side by the infinity pool over looking the beach Staff - fantastic, friendly and welcoming and always willing to go above and beyond the call of duty thank you to them all we will be back next year

Nice place, good pools, lots of places to dine in and walk paths to take after a dinner. Very friendly staff. We picked Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal because it gives access to all the restrants, pools and branches.But it turned out that some beaches don't allow kids, but there are no signs saying that. We've been asked to leave once. I'd say Luxury Akumal is not really kids friendly

I liked the property overall. I didn’t like my standard room. No plugs beside the bed, felt just dated and old. The lock in the room wasn’t my favourite either.we ended up upgrading half way through and those rooms were MUCH better! The adult pool was our favourite. The ala carte restaurants, I wish the system worked a bit better. It was challenging getting reservation and the app didn’t always work. We ended up getting restaurants with cancelations. However if people didn’t show up, they didn’t seem to take walk ins which I thought was weird bc then tables were empty. The buffet was fine for breakfast. The staff was amazing! They were helpful and nice! The beach was okay but we ended up spending all our time the pool. Evening activities need a little bit of a boost. Some night just seemed quiet after the family show. The silent disco HUGE favourite!

The facilities are dated when you compare it to the other resorts that you have access to. Overall the food and service was good at all restaurants, pool was amazing. Trams come frequently, although they can get quite busy in the evenings. Adults only section gets is right by the infinity pool. Great place to spend a weekend. 2 people in our party of 11 did go home with food poisoning, so be careful what you eat.

All of the staff was amazing... kind, helpful, professional, and always going the extra mile. The property in all areas was extremely clean and the food and drinks were amazing. Well above par with other resorts. I would have given it 5 stars if it weren't for: There was a "Takeover" event by, I believe, a swinger group and they were cliquee and not really the including kind. They left halfway through our stay and glad they did. Real naturalist came and it was a great time after that. Find out when the castaways will be there and don't go! *Property maintenance: -The toilets had a lot of problems flushing and with water pressure. -The smaller windows in the room were almost falling out of the walls when opened. -It rained extremely hard one night and water was pouring in through the large windows. It took 7 very large beach towels to clean it up and they were saturated. Maintenance guy came and basically said "nothing to do about it, sorry" and left. -While I walking through the property by the pool that was over it's edge from the rain, I got a jolt of electricity from a nearby light pole. *Communication: Events and activity communication was very lacking. The app was not updated to reflect the correct events happening throughout the days and nights. We would like to have gotten an itinerary of events and themes occurring during our stay when we checked in. Most of the happenings we found out from other guests. Despite the issues it was still an amazing experience.

Very relaxing, casual environment. For "newbies" to an au natural resort, it was mild and comfortable. Lovely pool area; awesome oceanfront covered beach beds; ambient music was soft and relaxing; the entire staff was awesome; bed in room was super comfortable; A/C in room kept us cool. Only negatives were the slow plumbing, an unremarkable fitness center, and in reality - no real place to get into the ocean.

We enjoyed having the option of using the sister properties. We actually spent more time there as they had plenty of activities. Staff was super friendly and extremely helpful. Food was great and our room was wonderful. You can fly into Tulum or Cancun airport. If you do, make your own reservations for shuttle service as their taxi prices were much higher than what we actually paid to get to the hotel. They do offer free shuttle service to Cancun airport but not Tulum airport.

We just spend a 4 night trip to the hotel, it was way much better than we expect! The staff is amazing! The room too, we met really nice people and want to come back right away! Everything was just perfect, our new happy place. Esperanza and Angel were so amazing. Only thing to improve is maybe the food, for us was like 7/10, just ate at hotel ( never went to El Dorado ) See you soon for sure and thank you very much!

This was our 42nd anniversary, and we could not have spent it in a better way. Great food, good drinks and good entertainment plus the most relaxing place to be. From check in to check out we were amazed. We were there for the third time and only the cost keeps it from being more frequent

Truly blown away! The staff at Dreams Aventuras makes this resort special. From the Preferred Club team: Guillermo, Graciela to name a few, they always went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. The Preferred Club lounge was quaint and perfectly tucked away for a quick drink or snack. The food for an all inclusive was 10/10. Oceana and Portofino were excellent, but every restaurant was great and the service top notch. The bartenders were attentive and friendly; Felipe was great at the pool bar. The swim up bar stayed busy but the bartenders were up to the task. The rooms were comfortable, clean and our Family Room was spacious. The pools were great - it was nice to have the fun family pool and then escape later in the afternoon for the more quiet Preferred pool. Unfortunately, the sargassum at the resort was bad during our stay, but this was to no fault of the resort or staff. They worked tirelessly to keep the beach area and water as pristine as possible. The grounds were clean and the staff worked hard all day to keep the pools clean and the grounds tidy. The size of this resort is perfect and it was well thought out. Thank you so much Dreams Aventuras team. While we are believed to be pretty picky travelers, you exceeded our expectations!

Really nice rooms, awesome stuff and very good food.

This is an excellent property for someone looking for a tropical experience and willing to compromise a bit on wanting a pristine beach with blue, turquoise waters that you would get in the hotel zone or Isla Mujeres. The beach is lined with palm trees and picturesque. There was quite a bit of sargassum, which was not all that bad except for a few spots where it had turned black. We had a Family Selection - Junior Suite, garden facing. The room was spacious and comfortable. Please note that they have "Double Beds" and not "Queen Beds" as mentioned on the Booking site. Also, the sofa bed is small, which only a young child could probably sleep on - but I would advise against considering it as a bed. But still the overall room experience was excellent. There was a private butler assigned to us and they took excellent care of us. The staff is very friendly and courteous. Food (All-inclusive) is amazing and a plus for the resort, but we didn't get reservations to a couple of popular restaurants - Japanese - Hibachi for example. Animals roam around freely here - Iguanas, big rats, Coati. Spotting flamingos along the eco tour was fun. Lot's of tropical trees gives the place a bit of a jungle vibe.
